Went here recently after having a takeaway a few months earlier, which was very nice. Decided to sit in and have a meal, very nice would recommend the place to anyone, the reason for only 4 stars and not 5 is due to the wait time, we weren’t in a rush, for a change so this didn’t bother us. Think the wait was due to the amount of Just Eat deliveries they have going on, good on them for being that busy, but be prepared to wait, we felt it was worth it.

Just wanted to share my very positive experience last night at this wonderful diner - staff friendly, professional and attentive - food amazing , quality fresh ingredients used and taste was exceptional. Really authentic food and a really enjoyable night - Well done to Ibrahim and your amazing team and thank you for delicious food.

Absolutely wonderful team working there. The hostess/waitress was charming, accommodating and very knowledgeable. They make their own chilli sauce from a traditional family recipe and it is delicious! The food was 😍😍😍 too!

Found this place after ferry from Holland last year. Liked it so much we came back this year on our way to Hook of Holland. Food was great and particularly liked friendly service by Kimba, a real asset 😃. We’ll be back next time.

I’ve been working away this week and stumbled on this fine restaurant, the staff are incredible, the food is outstanding and prices are excellent considering the current climate, the restaurant wasn’t busy but food orders were consistent, like me lucky people who chose correctly in my opinion, I ate here 3 times and was blown away all three times, the taste is straight out of Turkish paradise, the restaurant is well lit and blended with traditional and modern touches. Get your friends and family and come have a treat, you won’t be disappointed I’m sure 👍🏻 Get the ‘Lahmacun’ for an extra treat 😋

I had an excellent dining experience at Turkish Meze Bar in Harwich. The food was delicious and prepared in a traditional way. It was also very affordable, and the waitress was friendly, even giving us complimentary pita bread with dips. The restaurant is also very child-friendly. I highly recommend the köfte, lahmacun, and chicken shish kebab. 5 stars!

Good place but not great for vegetarian or vegan food. The menu needs to be a bit more clearer as to what is veggie and what's not as it's all in Turkish. However the staff were really nice and helped us pick out the veggie dishes.

A group of us visited on a Monday night to celebrate my neighbours sixty-second birthday. Unfortunately, everyone got served teir meals in good time apart from my neighbour. Not sure whether this was our fault or the kitchens. It is a typical Brewers Fayre restaurant. I have been there several times and the food is usually good.

We went here for some drinks and snacks before leaving Harwich. Good value for money. Food good. We will come again next time.

christmas dinner. portions sizes very large. quality of food terrible.. no real meat .. was processed.wasnt expensive but if u cut portion sizes and gave quality be more ideal in my opinion. waited hour between starter and main. staff over worked tried their best but got frustrated feedback when asked for service. cracker on table very low music was all provided.

We enjoyed the 2 mains for £10.99 offer and the children's menu. For 4 adult mains plus desserts, 3 courses for 2 young children, they shared a generously sized starter and main, we paid £51! This included 2 children's drinks, a red wine, alcohol free lager, and a J2O. The portions were of generous size, particularly the fish and chips.

Food is great, I had a lovely macaroni cheese with a side salad and garlic bread followed by a sticky toffee pudding. could not rater this higher. however what stands out is the service. Everyone here from the manager to the bar staff could not be more friendly and more accomodating. if I could rate more than 5 stars I would.

Fabulous all round. We found this place purely by chance following a lovely walk along a pathway from Kingsway. (About 22 minute walk using Google Maps) There appeared to be plenty of parking available. Having entered, there was a group of people ahead; staff were quick to greet and seat. Staff were all very friendly, polite and helpful. Having decided on our food we went up to the bar to place our order. (Remember to note your table number). We liked the fact you had the option to pay or have a tab. We were able to sample the wine, to ensure we bought the sweetest available (opted for the Sauvignon Blanc Mud House). The staff could not have been anymore accommodating. Toilets were located to the left of the bar, through a set of doors within the attached Premier Inn reception, very clean. We would totally recommend the Value Menu; 2 Mains for £8.99. You can add specific Starter and/or Dessert for extra £2.49 each. The food was served in a reasonable amount of time. The food was ever so tasty: - Garlic & Herb Mushrooms - Smothered Chicken - Gammon Steak (choice of 2 Eggs, 2 Pineapple or 1 of each) - Caramel Apple Betty Great portion sizes, plenty of chips, I couldn't actually eat them all. The Gammon was by far the best I have eaten in a long time. Whilst we have found in general that quality and quantity have decreased and prices have increased, here is an exception.. Great quality Food, Good Portion Sizes, Fabulous Staff and Nice Location, easy to access from the town. If back in Harwich, we would certainly return to eat here again. We have already recommended to others.

We stopped there to eat. We had a dog with us and we were told to eat outside. Which was fine. I then had to wait for 10 minutes to get a menu whilst the manager ignored me. Went to order to discover a large number of the items were off! We gave up, left our unkempt dirty outside table and had fish and chips (brought from a local chippy) by the sea - really tasty, good view and was cleaner even though it was a public area! Will not return to the Mayflower.

Stayed here for couple days with my son visiting family and the staff are super friendly, very welcoming. Food are amazing! My son who is autistic even sat well and ate every meal ❤️ cannot thank you enough and happy to come again. Like to praise up Rhys for being so welcoming every morning when we come through 🥹

As a 'valued member' we booked a table for Mother's Day lunch after receiving an email offering us this. When we arrived we were informed that our table had been double booked and we could only have a 'tall table', and there would be a 1 hour wait. This is not only unprofessional but disappointing as we had not planned for any other food for lunch. We left and we do not plan to revisit a Brewers Fayre after this poor planning and service. We will ensure that others are made aware of this very unprofessional attitude. A busy day on Mother's Day, but where a booking us taken and accepted, this is very poor.

I had booked a table for lunch for a family gathering ...when we arrived were told that we had a 30-40 minute wait for food...the restaurant was half empty....very disappointing when you have booked 4 days in advance. Also food came up ...club sandwich was cold apart from egg...Burger had a postage stamp amount of sauce in...Gammon Steak was burnt & sent with one egg instead of two....Tomatoe sauce with Hunters Chicken not barbecue & ordered mini knickerbocker glory...but got the sour berries in it. Glasses were not very clean Chairs are so uncomfortable and dirty as was our table & carpet under table.

Really disappointed had a table for 6 booked for mothers day, got to the restaurant and told the table was not ready as they over booked and couldn't give us any indication on how long the wait for the table would be, once we could be seated it would be at least a hour for food. No management on shift and not willing to offer any form of reimbursement or complementary drinks while we wait, managed to get a booking elsewhere, will not be returning as this is not the first time this has happened

Ordered from the festive menu I had the salmon en croute and it was absolutely gorgeous, hubby had the festive pie and his was just as good as my meal nicely presented and piping hot. We both had the after eight sundae they were presented well and tasted so yummy. Would definitely go back.

nice food and reasonably priced, breakfast is a bargain if your hungry! friendly staff. had the odd rude staff when phoning as online booking dont work at times. as wanted to see if can book more then 8 people as online booking only goes up to 8 people.

Absolutely disgusted, went to go for a mothers day meal, which had been booked weeks ago, when turned up got told would be a long wait for our table as they had over booked and then to be told it would be at least a hour wait for food, we walked out and went elsewhere.. the staff member even said don't blame you not really the attitude to have.. why take so many bookings if your short staffed!

This is our usal place we order from but last night....... This was the best Chinese we have ever had from here. Who ever cooked last night keep it up. The chilli chips and wings were absolutely fantastic.

Waited over an hour and when it come it stunk and tasted so horrid and dry ! Never again !

One of the best Chinese takeaways I have had in a good while... Food was delicious, delivery on time and not too long, food still hot on delivery.

I like this place. I can abscond and fade away into a quiet mental space as delicious food comes my way. I am partial to a great hot and sour soup. This...A pleasant surprise in the wilderness. The portions are good size without going over board. Pleasant staff do not hover, yet my table is always clear and my cider filled. Enjoyment on a quiet night.

My partner and I fancied a Chinese and popped in late during the week for a takeaway. We placed our order and asked if we could pop over the road quickly. The gentleman who took our order did not seem best pleased, but gave permission. We thought this odd but returned in short order. The fellow appeared a bit quirky as he handed our order over and generally gave off an atmosphere that was no best pleasant. The food was to good standard, and on that side I would have recommended strongly - but the service left much to be desired. It was the worst part of an otherwise fantastic evening, and for that - 3 stars. Please work on your customer service and I will revise my rating. There are other places to visit in Harwich that offer customer service far more modernised and to a higher standard, and I had hoped for more from an otherwise brilliant place to eat.

All of our dine in experiences have been brilliant.. and we treat ourselves to a take away sometimes too and they are always delicious. Never a let down.. Definitely one of our favourite places to eat in the surrounding area.

We took a trip into Dover court and needed a drink and food. We saw how popular this place was so we were confident it was good to eat . We only had drinks and toasted tea cakes but we're pleased with the quality. The menu looked comprehensive and good value. My only observation was it was cash only...

Staff are fantastic, very welcoming always helpful. Food is good quality, good selection and lots of it on a large plate. Great value, best in town. A large cafe, so plenty of room. Toilets could do with an update and are a bit cold in winter for the kids, but apart from that minor point, all very good.

This is definitely a happy place to spend a dinner break. The serving staff treat their customers as old friends, be they newcomers or regulars. The food is of a consistently high quality and is proper value for money.

We were cycling the east Anglian coast and stopped here in the rain. Really early waiting for the foot ferry across to Felixstowe . This cafe is brilliant, so good to see vegetarians option and service was fast !!!!

The service was lovely and very welcoming. I don't usually go to places with pictures of food on the building and on the menu, but I liked this restaurant. The full English was very filling and enjoyable and you get a very nice coffee. Overall it was a good experience and the food was worth the cost.

Food took an over an hour to arrive and was cold upon arrival and packaging sopping wet where it has been sat around. Chips and burgers were soggy and cold. Paid an extra £2 for chips to have cheese, but they came plain. Very underwhelming soggy cold meal for the money paid and missing cheese.

Best food I've had in harwich never had any problems Portions sizes are very generous as well

iv had nice food but now&then like last night 2 cod&chips 1 had bone in it but both fish was mushy watery ,as known of being soaked in water so not fresh chips ok,so thats me done now £24 expect fresh flakey fish,

I ordered once before , it was really nice . Ordered second time on a sat night . I ordered chicken shish , chicken was dry & was not cooked on the skewer which is what I thought shish was supposed to be cooked on the skewer . Chips was soggy I put them in the airfryer to crisp them up . I will say ..I also ordered spicy chicken wings which was really nice defo will order them again ….. maybe they were busy cos it’s sat night .

Ordered from here while on holiday, as camp food made you sick. My son who is a pizza monster said this was the best pizza ever had, and wished could deliver. But be c9ld after 2 1/2 drive

Honestly the best fish and chip shop going in Harwich. Food is always amazing and perfectly cooked. I tried garlic mayo with cheese Chips it was the best. Highly recommend this chippy. Excellent customer service. Food is lovely 😊😋
