Brodick

Brodick is the main village on the Isle of Arran, in the Firth of Clyde, Scotland. It is halfway along the east coast of the island, in Brodick Bay below Goat Fell, the tallest mountain on Arran. The name is derived from the Norse "breda-vick" meaning "Broad Bay". Wikipedia.

Tapas restaurant
Eighteen69 is a Scottish tapas bar located within Auchrannie House Hotel. It has a unique and pretentious name, offering a different dining experience. Situated in a charming glasshouse, it provides natural light and beautiful views of the hotel's gardens. The restaurant is known for its classier ambiance compared to Brambles Seafood & Grill, which is also housed in the same hotel. With its emphasis on Scottish tapas, Eighteen69 promises to deliver an unforgettable culinary adventure.
Absolutely lovely - all of it. A very nice building in Nice grounds, with cosy seating areas and dining in a large conservatory. Service was good - a friendly waitress and the food came fairly quickly - not quite all together, but we weren't waiting. As it's a tapas style, it was small plates, and with plenty of choice. Everything was lovely, plenty of meat & fish dishes, fewer for veggies. The food was beautifully presented and cooked. 3 main plates and a side of carrots and I was nicely full, :-) The whole place had a feel of being upmarket and tastefully done, well looked after and well run. The best meal out I've had for some time, beaten for me only by Michelin starred dining on Skye.

So tasty! The Scottish tapas selection was brilliant and the desserts were to die for. Friendly service too

Never been to Scottish tapas before! We arrived as party of a hen party, much to the dismay of the other diners! But for a group of 13 they split us over 2 tables. It wasn't ideal at first but understandable as the actual eating area isn't huge! The staff were very welcoming and explained the ordering system. We probably over ordered as we were all stuffed by the end but the food was just fantastic. Some at my table didnt enjoy one of the chicken dishes but no complaints over anything else. I'd highly recommend the haggis scotch egg and the cullen skink pie! Cocktails are also lovely! Definitely a place I'd return to when visiting Arran as there's something for everyone and a great variety.

Been once before and there was a dog friendly area. Booked ahead online this time and was shown to the dog friendly lounge, which was basically a room with a couch in it. The dogs ended up in the car as that was a completely unsuitable place to enjoy tapas. Front of house was a bit snippy about it and suggested we move to brambles. In the end we ate there. Food and rest of staff lovely. Leave the dog at home!

I was extremely impressed by Eighteen69. As a vegetarian I had a huge amount of choice, and it was fantastic to see such creative vegetarian/vegan items on the menu instead of the usual. Watermelon sashimi with wasabi foam! I was in heaven. The restaurant has an extremely attentive allergen policy too. Service was impeccable. Some of the best I've ever had. Let me give an example: a lady with limited mobility got up from her seat, and without hesitating the waitress passing her table offered the lady her arm and walked her to the bathroom. I was speechless! Everyone I encountered was wonderful.

Delicious small plates in a lovely scottish hotel. We were impressed by the quantity of vagatarian and vegan options available! High quality food and the service was fab. Massive thank you to Sophie at reception who managed to get us a late night taxi back to our lodgings!
Anna Asher — Google review
We had a gorgeous meal at eighteen69, we ate in the beautiful lounge area with our dog on a sofa and decent sized coffee table which was a lovely relaxed atmosphere. The staff were all friendly and attentive and squeezed us in at the last minute due to some booking confusion. The food was incredible - we had all of the vegan options between 2 of us and even ordered a second serving of the vegan burnt ends, which were incredible! This place certainly has the best vegan selection we found on the island, and we loved every dish! Lastly, the bar staff were incredible, from delicious cocktails, friendly chat, and an excellent selection of local beers and spirits. Overall, we're so glad we stumbled on eighteen69 and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone and will certainly be making a return visit next time we visit Arran. Other reviews have criticised the pricing, but for the quality of the food and service we would have paid more.

Great concept of restaurant, especially if u are someone who is indecisive of what to buy, here you get to order small plates and enjoy them . The food tasted amazing and very friendly staff. The picture quality won't do the food justice. It's just bad lighting .

The food was excellent and a great choice of dishes. A relaxed atmosphere with a friendly service. Will definitely be back!

Seafood restaurant
The dining experience at Brambles Seafood + Grill was enjoyable, although slightly pricier compared to the nearby Cruize in the spa resort. One downside was the uncomfortably high temperature inside the restaurant, as acknowledged by both a fellow couple and the server. This issue deterred patrons from indulging in desserts and affected their overall perception of the establishment. Despite this setback, the evening was wonderful for a group celebrating a birthday, thanks to delicious food and attentive staff.
We had a wonderful evening with friends for my wife's birthday. The food was great and the staff couldn't have done enough to accommodate us. The young lady in the photograph bringing the cake was a credit to the hotel. We'll done all round.
Joey Clam — Google review
We ate at Brambles in May 2022 while on holiday on Arran and looking for seafood restaurant to eat at. Brambles is a real hidden gem with fantastic, super friendly service from the staff and a relaxed atmosphere. I'd particularly recommend the Cullen skink for starter and the monkfish curry was sensational, the giant onion bhaji was cooked to perfection and really made the dish a spectacle.
Andrew Heyes — Google review
Lovely place to eat, especially for couples. All 3 of our courses (and wine) were delicious, it was a real treat! You can tell that staff are well trained, knowledgable and all have a high attention to detail. Would recommend.
TJ Matthews — Google review
As soon as we walked into the restaurant, the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The customer service was brilliant and quick! We ordered: Starters: - Crispy squid - Steam Scottish mussels Mains: - Spiced lamb kebabs - 10z ribeye (swapped chips for Pak Choi) Side: - Prawns The food was absolutely delicious!! Everything was cooked to absolute perfection and all the meat was so unbelievably soft! The atmosphere in here is lovely! And a hint of luxury.

Overpriced, dinners mixed with items I did not want and could not get without. What I did order was mediocre at best and unsatisfying. Tip to chef if your fish requires a bed of potato's to be any good then it is not any good.
James Mann — Google review
The hotel has the guests staying in the resort in the palm of their hand but it seems cutting corners is chasing the guests away to dine elsewhere sadly. Portion sizes are not adequate and certainly do not reflect the prices charged. My husbands venison portion was shocking. Plate covered in kale to make it look like it was a generous portion. The sweet potato ‘’dauphinoise’ was served cold and didn’t seem to have any cream or garlic. I was served half of a fillet of hake. We didn’t order desserts because we didn’t want to be disappointed again and ate and drank out in Brodick the next 2 nights. If we were served a decent meal we would have happily dined there each night. Another set of guests we spoke to had exactly the same issue. The continental breakfast selection was great but the Scottish breakfast was left too long keeping warm in the kitchen and wasn’t good. We got the haddock and poached egg next 2 days which was decent because it had to be cooked fresh I assume.
Mary D — Google review
My partner and I had an amazing evening last night at Brambles seafood + grill. We had the mussels which were delicious and enjoyed the cozy atmosphere. The service was outstanding! Would recommend for a special treat!
Lola Stead — Google review
We were here and after a hiking day we wanted to enjoy a good dinner. Unfortunately for the prices we paid there wasn't enough food. Starters are tiny and the mains are quite reduced. Otherwise the food and service were ok.
antonio roa — Google review
Four of us had lunch at Brambles on Sunday in dog friendly area. Waitress was very friendly & attentive. Fish & chips was lovely and chicken Caesar salad was very tasty although next time I would ask for it without anchovies as they took me by surprise. They didn't go to waste as Marley ate them up.
Fiona Drennan — Google review
Fabulous service by the Auchrannie team. Enjoyed brambles for breakfast and afternoon tea and drinks.
edward hargan — Google review
This place should be commended for putting out some very tasty food. The soup was obviously tasted and seasoned when made which believe it or not isn't always a priority in some places. Meats were moist and portion sizes were sensible. All on well done to the kitchen staff. Also this place has seats out back with nice view of the hills. Average price and the gardens here are lovely.

First time in Arran, and I looked up for restaurants to go to, and we chose this one, and we were glad we did, superb 👏
Anna Marshall — Google review
THE worst attempt at a fried fish I've ever been served. Well done doesn't cover it, I actually picked it up and rapped it on the table when I was asked why I was returning it. Second attempt wasn't a great deal better. Criminal. The chips were incinerated monstrosities too. Unbelievably bad.
Kris Western — Google review
Food was great, a little more expensive than Cruize in the spa resort. The negative was the restaurant was absolutely roasting, we wondered if it was just us, but another couple who were seated 20 minutes after us mentioned to the server how warm it was too. He actually agreed, and said he thought it was too hot too but 'not everyone agrees'. I was actually sitting there in a sweat! I wanted to get a dessert but needed to get out into the cool. It's a shame actually as just the temperature of the restaurant has impacted my opinion on it.
Louise Ballantyne — Google review
This was an amazing place to eat the food tastes so fresh and you can tell its all freshly cooked by the taste and the look of the food that gets presented on the plates, definitely worth a visit for fresh delicious food

Family restaurant

The restaurant offers a family-friendly environment with pleasant decor and surroundings, making it an ideal choice for both adults and kids alike.
We ate lunch in the Cruize Brasserie today. First impression was one of delight at the bright and beautifully designed room. We received a warm welcome and were shown to our seats in the window. The food was first class, l ate the super salad main with roast chicken. My husband ate the haddock with the most amazing batter. The rhubarb desert was out of this world. The service was very efficient and friendly. Such lovely people! We enjoyed our lunch and are definitely going back.

Amazing place, food was great, service amazing. Staff were so great with our toddler and the soft play was really good. I left my jacket accidentally and staff had it posted too me. Genuinely couldn't ask for more. Lovely place

Amazing restaurant. Food cooked, as expected, to a very high standard consistently. My wife, child and myself were treated to excellent dishes picking different things across 2 different evenings. Service was prompt, efficient and very friendly with our wee family group made to feel welcome at every sitting. Staying in Auchenrannie so was the obvious choice if not picking other Arran eateries but glad we chose this one 😀. Sirloin steak tonight was cooked slightly over for a med rare but the meat was so succulent it could be forgiven a few extra seconds in the pan. It was fantastic. The risotto I had the previous visit was superb in every effort. Rice was soft and succulent with perfectly cooked fish, and salted just to my taste (very lightly). Would look forward to returning if we get the chance.
Steve D — Google review
We were there for a birthday lunch with a mix of age groups including children. Good points Menu looked promising Staff were helpful Bad points Service was slow and children became very very bored. The meal did not live up to expectations, the worst being the burgers. The brioche buns had been seared and tasted like bitter burnt toast. Worst one was the Cruiseburger. £20 of inedible burger in a burnt bun. At least we weren’t charged for that. They did bring replacement buns but they weren’t much better. The pizzas lacked ingredients and flavour. Altogether quite a let down.
h melville — Google review
The food was fine. My portion of butter chicken was quite small. The kids mac and cheese is half what it used to be. To the point that the kids finished their food before us. Which never happens, and they were still hungry. W

Popped in as a non-resident for breakfast. Great value @ £14.99 for a full hot buffet Scottish breakfast with cold buffet, cereals as well. Pastries and good toasting area also. WiFi available for those who need to update even when on holiday. Food was well cooked with plenty of variety and constantly replenished. Good coffee machines. Pleasant staff who were very attentive. Family atmosphere. Large dining area. Pleasant décor and surroundings. The Auchrannie site is almost colonial as a building and has palm trees outside the entrance I took a couple of photos to show everyone

The Parlour offers top-notch service and is a must-visit for those looking to indulge in delectable pizzas and delightful ice cream flavors while exploring the area.
Great Pizza, and amazing ice cream. The staff was absolutely great, very lovely and they had great recommendations for us. They also had some veggie/vegan options and sorbets without dairy. An absolute gem!

Amazing pizza - competes with any of the expensive city pizza eateries we have near us. My wife's comment was that it was the best pizza she had ever had! They had a delicious vegan pizza and a gluten free pizza base option which was really good, and much appreciated. The staff were very attentive, pleasant and professional and all was well priced. We liked it so much that we returned for ice cream a few hours later after a hill walk. Very glad we found this place and that they had space - we will definitely be back next time we're on Arran!

Decent pizzas. We visited for a takeout order on a recent trip. Upon entering around 18.45 the staff appeared extremely flustered and cold, and were unsure they could take our order. Ultimately they agreed to take it to pick up at 20:00. Which was fine. Upon returning, everyone was much friendlier. Our pizzas were good and flavoursome. We had also had ice creams from here earlier in the day. The ice creams were great, and they guy serving the ice creams was lovely. Ultimately, the food was good. However, the atmosphere was awkward as the staff appeared stretched with regards to their workload.
Mahmudur Khan — Google review
Popped in while waiting for the ferry. Staff was helpful and quick to take the order and get to work. It looked like every pizza is made to order with ingredients all on display to see. Within minutes we had our hot, delicious pizza ready for take-away. It was very well made with a good balance of ingredients. Crust was perfect. Really made for a great quick dinner.

Perfect pizza. Probably the tastiest pizza I have ever had without a doubt. The quattro is a game changer with mushrooms, black olives, ham and the artichoke steals the show. Wow. I cant wait for another.! They also do a great coffee and a selection if ice cream. Try it now.

BF and I ordered pizzas and ice cream. Pizza #1 mushroom pizza and #2 pepperoni pizza. THEY WERE DELICIOUS! Ice cream was good as well, unfortunately not my favorite but overall good.

Arran Gold ✨ the ice cream of Isle of Arran. I have tasted mango and passion fruit flavours. Both were really nice with rich essences of the fruits itself. I have also noticed there are quite a few places in and around Edinburgh where you could get Arran gold ice cream if you fancy giving it a try. But then if you are visiting Isle of Arran, this is a must thing to do 🥰
Aishwarya Pillai — Google review
Absolutely top class pizza and service. Gluten free pizza also very good.

The ice cream was amazingly good! I had the Arran gold and so did my friends. We didn’t have enough time for pizzas which is a shame but I’ll definitely come back next time.

Best pizza I've had out with Italy! Their pizza dough was delicious. The guys were super friendly and the selection of Arran gelato was awesome. Definitely worth a visit! We went back for coffee and cake the following day. They were outstanding too. All the star!

Absolutely stunning pizzas!😍⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐We visited before our ferry back to mainland and the staff were incredible, our ferry was cancelled at short notice and the guys helped with sourcing blankets and sleeping bags as well as recommending were to stop the night. The food is amazing and great value for money. To top it off we even got on the Alfred back! 👍

Cold and windy on Arran tonight so ordered a takeaway via Facebook messenger. Helpful and friendly team in restaurant, pizza excellent and really tasty - I love a sourdough base and this didn’t disappoint. Couple of scoops of Arran ice cream completed a great takeout experience.
Tony Grieve — Google review
I initially came here for their ice cream to cool myself down after a good hike. But hey, pizza is their main character here! The quality is just superb and tasty! They also serve vegan options. I ended up having pizza, coffee, and ice cream! Chill vibes with some relaxing music and friendly staff. Clean toilet is always a must for any restaurant, and this place is spot-on. *See attached images for an updated menu

Went twice out the 3 days we were in Arran and I honestly wish I didn't. As now I'm going to want there pizza again and unfortunately it's a boat trip away every time I think about it. Beautiful small restaurant. Very very friendly staff and pizza was amazing!!!
Shane Cherry — Google review
So hear me out, I know it's hard to get pizza wrong but it's also hard to get it this right! The place itself is very chilled vibes and the staff are super welcoming. But the food is something else! They were a finalist for the best pizzeria and it's really easy to see why. We shared 2 pizzas: Christmas special and the diavola. Both were mouth wateringly good but the Christmas special was something else, if you're a meat eater then deffo go for this one. But to top it all off there are a number of dips to choose from, one of them being GRAVY MAYO. As a Yorkshire girl and lover of gravy again I can highly recommend. I'm only sad that we are here on our last night and couldn't go back!! We also had Arran ice cream to finish off, the bus off flavour was stunning. Thanks for having us
Shanta James-Doshi — Google review
Super friendly, I dropped in to ask about ordering a pizza for the following day, when they saw how disappointed I was that they'd be closed I was offered a spare to try... It was excellent. Will make sure to catch them next time I'm on the island! Update! I returned and bought pizzas for myself and friends - hugely impressed. Great, fresh, tasty, hot, and too good to save until tomorrow when we felt full 😁 Very easy phone order made perfectly to time.

A very nice wee shop to visit while you are on tour of Isle of Arran, not so far from Brodick Harbour terminal, just a few minutes walk. They have really great taste of variety of Ice cream, we tried Arran Gold and was really tasty. Their Pizza is really so yummy . We tried one Veggie one and it was so great in taste.

Outstanding place. Very warm welcome for 2 of us plus baby. Beautiful home made chicken pate was recommended to us and it was delicious. The pizzas were creative and scrummy, with some chilli oil that wasn't messing around. To top it off the ice cream was the creamiest I've ever had. Would wholeheartedly recommend the Parlour to others.

Little Rock Cafe is a popular eatery located in the heart of Brodick village on Arran. Known for its fantastic reputation, this cafe offers delightful sea views from its front and serves a more elevated menu than your typical cafe fare. Patrons can enjoy an array of tasty options including fresh salads, hasselback potatoes, mouthwatering paninis, succulent smoked salmon, and other nutritious choices.
Wonderful breakfast at this beautiful cafe in Isle of Arran. The start to give the lunch menu from 11:30, but the breakfast was absolutely amazing, the food was more than enough and really good quality. I recommend it of you're looking for a good place to eat, with good prices and amazing quality.

Smashing all around. Pretty much the only café on the island and it's genuinely really very good. Lovely down to earth staff. A wide variety of food to choose from at very reasonable prices. The staff loved it when I paid in cash too - cash is king! Highly recommended and I will be back!
Ben Hegan — Google review
Been coming to Little Rock pretty much since they opened. It’s a brilliant little cafe with superb staff and a nice interior. The food is always excellent with a great choice for kids too. Oh, and the milkshakes…. 😍
Ben W — Google review
Service was very pleasant, but paying 30p for oat milk that just curdles in the coffee is expensive. If you prefer plant based milks, I'd advise just bringing your own if you must buy a coffee here. Places that charge a premium for plant based milks should be buying premium plant based milks that don't do this

Nice cafe, staff were good and the food was even better. Had the haggis and cheese toastie it was very nice 😋.

Little rock cafe is a great place to get lunch or brunch - the portions are satisfying and the food is locally sourced in places and tasty. We had foods mostly from the panini and lunch menu and were not disappointed! There's also an interesting selection of foods in the deli attached. Milkshakes with candy bars mixed in are available but they are very very sweet & quite thin. Service was also friendly and cheerful

Enjoyable little breakfast in a beautiful sea-front location in Brodick. Very friendly staff, great location, nice atmosphere. In the spirit of honesty I’ll say this: If you are after a quality Scottish breakfast, and perhaps visiting Scotland, they have a good one here but I’ll say this; I love Haggis, but I didn’t love this one. Very strong in the flavour of liver, So if this is your first foray into trying haggis as a tourist, and you don’t like it here—give it another go elsewhere; might I recommend “Dingwall” haggis. The Cappuccino had so much coco it was pretty much a mocha, and kinda wreaked the coffee. The Black coffee was okay, but nothing to write home about. They also have a great little shop showcasing some of the best items from the island. All in all, really good little cafe.

5 mins walk from ferry crossing. You can't miss it. Mini golf in the front of the cafe. Delicatessen shop on the same site run by the same people. Place with a character. Very dog friendly. Everything has its purpose in this place. Nice crockery and cutlery. Good toilet facilities. Flexible tables and chairs set up. Plenty of cold highchairs. Very helpful and devoted stuff members. Great choice of delicious hot drinks. Good choice of cold/fizzy drinks. Brilliant breakfast and lunch menu. Something inspiring for everyone. Big portions, freshly prepared, locally sourced food. Delicious salmon and mashed avocado. Good quality bread and fragrant loose teas. Highly recommended

We read reviews of this café before our holiday and we weren’t disappointed! Spent a day at Brodick and came here for lunch. Couldn’t fault our experience. Great, friendly service and the food was delicious. Clearly a popular place, but we didn’t have to wait too long for our food. Toilets were very clean as was the café. Will definitely return next time we visit the Isle of Arran!

Called in on our last day on Arran for lunch. It's a busy place and we had to wait about 10 minutes for a table for two. Food was excellent. I chose the gluten free option of the beef burger which came in a gluten free bun and chips. A buffalo sandwich was also ordered. Has a Scottish cider too which was lovely. Excellent service and friendly staff. I can see why this is popular. Highly recommended.

Food is absolutely delicious with lots of good scottish items on the menu plus dishes you'd see other places. The service is fantastic! It's a little more expensive than the mainland, but that's to be expected for an island. Great setup with a sit-down cafe and a deli!

A bustling cafe just a short walk away from Brodick ferry. The food was phenomenal! My partner and I split our tuna / cheese and haggis / cheese paninis and they were so tasty The selection of cakes were glorious and the portions were hearty.
