The Bhuri Singh Museum, established in 1975, features a collection of artwork and exhibitions that emphasize the rich history and culture of Chamba. This museum is a must-visit destination for anyone touring the area, as it offers a unique glimpse into the region's past. Despite being relatively unknown to most visitors, this museum is considered a hidden gem due to its impressive displays and informative exhibits.
Do not miss this place when you visit Chamba. It's a hidden gem, and it's a shame that there wasn't a single other visitor when I was here.

This is one of must visit place if you are visiting Chamba town. With a Rs.50 entry ticket you can spend around two hours just watching the artifacts. Items can go from 4 A.D. to modern currency. A 2 storeyed museum with photos exhibition about the history of town on top floor is just great finish to this place. Only issue is the description is very limited for many artifacts.
Aayush Yadav — Google review
This place is open on all days other than Mondays. Opening hours 10am to 5pm. This gives you some perspective on the heritage of Chamba rulers and most artefacts are from around 18th century but a few are much older, enclosing some pictures for your perspective. Ticket Rs.50/- per person for Indian citizens. There is a paid public parking nearby. Parking fee Rs.100/-
Kapil Sood — Google review
Visit here for understanding the history of Chamba and it's art. Got some beautiful postcards from here. Tickets cost is only fifty rupees per person. Many of the sections have stone inscriptions from temples and fountains dated back to 7th century A.D. Also there were coins about 1200 years old. You can also view some paintings here.
Harshita Maurya — Google review
Visited this place. Ticket charges were Rs.50 per person & camera charges were Rs.100 extra. When I went inside, there were different collections of mode of payment used to be in ancient times. There were some different things but not everything. So it was ok for me. Art lovers might like this place. There was common washroom which wasn't good. Parking facility is also not there.

The collection of museum is good but the description about the exhibits is very poor. Some of them had worse spelling mistakes enough to change meaning of the context.

The Bhuri Singh Museum in Chamba, Himachal Pradesh, is renowned for its impressive collection of artifacts, including miniature paintings, sculptures, manuscripts, and historical items that provide insights into the rich cultural heritage of the region. It's definitely worth a visit if you're interested in exploring the history and art of Himachal Pradesh.

A nicely curated museum. Entrance fee is Rs.50 looks expensive in India as normally the entrance tickets are Rs.10 for government museums. The artifacts are from Chamba area but well presented. History buffs would not regret going here. Others may skip if they feel the ticket is expensive

Akhand Chandi Palace, also known as Chamba Palace, is a must-see attraction in Chamba. This stately white building was constructed in the 18th century and boasts a unique architectural style that combines Mughal and British influences. Visitors can enjoy stunning views of nearby sites such as Chamunda Devi Temple, Sui Mata Temple, Lakshmi Narayan Temple, Rang Mahal, and Hari Ram Temple from this location.
Beautiful Building in Chamba.Akhand Chandi Palace was Raj Mahal of Raja Chamba But building is knowing Govt. Medical College of Chamba Himachal Pradesh India.
Dhruv Bhargava — Google review
The Akhand Chandi Palace, noted for its distinct green roof, was built by Raja Umed Singh between 1747 and 1765 and used as his residence. Later, Raja Sham Singh refurbished it with the assistance of British engineers. This palace is a stunning example of Rajasthani and Mughal architectural styles and is renowned for its intricate carvings, exquisite sculptures, and beautiful paintings. Situated amid picturesque and tranquil settings, it was the residence of the ruling family of Chamba. The palace, designed in three parts, forms an unfinished square. One of the most striking features of Akhand Chandi Palace is its green roof and white painted windows. In 1879, the Darbar Hall (also named 'Marshal Hall' after the builder) was built. Raja Bhuri Singh added the Zenana Mahal (residence of Royal ladies). In 1973, the Royal family of Chamba sold the palace to the Government of Himachal Pradesh, who in turn converted it into a Government College and District Library and at present it houses Govt medical College. Maintenance of the attractive palace, however, which has painted walls and glass work and intricate woodwork, has not been satisfactory, due to the lack of funds allocated to refurbish it. The palace provides scenic views of the Chaugan, Laxmi Narayana Temple, Sui Mata, Chamunda Devi Temple, Rang Mehal, Hari Rai Temple and Bansi Gopal Temple.

Famous for its unique architectural style, the Akhand Chandi Palace was constructed by Raja Umed Singh, the king of Jodhpur, between 1747 and 1765 AD, and is one of the largest monuments in Chamba. Situated amid picturesque and tranquil settings, it was the residence of the ruling family of Chamba. The structure, located around 1,000 m above sea level, is a great example of primeval architecture that is influenced by both Mughal and British styles. The palace, designed in three parts, forms an unfinished square. One of the most striking features of Akhand Chandi Palace is its green roof and white painted windows. A Durbar Hall, also known as Marshall Hall, was constructed here in 1879 by Captain CHT Marshall, who was one of the palace’s residents. The Zenana Mahal for women was added later. In 1958, the palace was sold off by the royal family to the Himachal Pradesh government who converted it into a government college and district library. The palace is one of the finest examples of the country’s rich heritage and vibrant history that has been wonderfully restored and preserved. The best period to visit this palace is between the months of April and August when the weather is pleasant. Legend has it that the palace got its name during Raja Umed Singh’s visit to Lahore in 1748 AD when the recitation of Chandi Durgasaptasati was performed as a prayer for his safe return.

Very good experience let me tell you one thing.... Wait until next review.
Sahil Sharma — Google review
Once a palace, it houses three institutions, including a govt medical college. The administration section (including Principal's office) and the non-clinical departments of the medical college are located here. It is NOT of any importance to the tourists. The halls have been partitioned and floors remade. The ceilings are very high, keeping them cool in the summers. Located on a peak, access is slightly difficult by foot. There is a parking lot but is quite congested. It is located close to Laxmi Narayan temple.
Sridhar Rao — Google review
A must visit place in Chamba, Himachal Pradesh. The most well kept building of the old times when this place was under the rule of local king. Overlooking the Chaugan ground, the plain heart of the city this elegantly built and designed building catches the eyes of all the travellers. Inside of the palace is also equally beautiful. A part of the palace is now converted into some government offices.

Very nice serene temple complex. This has multiple small temples inside dedicated to many important Hindu Gods and Goddesses. Attaching some of the pictures here and a few tips: 1. In case if you are driving down to this temple park in the paid public parking near the big public park, the temple is approx 700 meters from here. Parking fee is Rs.100/-. Remember there is no car parking space near the temple entrance. 2. There is no specific dress code. 3. Cameras are allowed inside. We visited on a weekday around 3:30pm and there wasn't much crowd here. A must visit temple if you are in Chamba.

Chamba has this set of 5 temples on a hill. You have climb a steep road to reach here. This place has 5 Mandirs in a line and are still in very good condition. There is not much information available to read atbthe site, ao better refer before you visit. Most of them are closed, so you can not actually see inside the garbha griha. There are kne or two more Mandirs in Chamba town but this is the one , one must visit. The locals often guide you to the other ones first, as they are nearly the main market.

Built in the 10th century by Raja Sahil Verman, Laxmi Narayana Temple is the main shrine in Chamba that includes Bimana i.e. Shikhara and Garbhgriha with a small antarala and a mantapa. The temple has wooden chattries and a shell roof at the top to protect against snowfall. There is a wheel shaped roof that helps to protect from cold. It houses a metallic image of Garuda, the mount of Lord Vishnu. It's a beautiful place of great historical implication and architectural marvel. It has a mandapa like structure too. The entire area includes six temples in a row from north to south and is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Vishnu. Laxmi Narayan Temple is one of the most popular temples of Chamba that is known for its great historical significance and architectural marvel. There are also other temples in the complex like Radha Krishna Temple- built by Rani Sarda (wife of Raja Jit Singh in 1825), Shiva Temple of Chandragupta- built by Sahil Varman and the Gauri Shankar Temple- built by Yugkar Varman (the son of Sahil Varman). There is a Garuda statue in metal watches over the main gate, which is placed by Raja Balabhadra Verma. The latest addition to the shrine in historical periods was in answer to the Mughal terror. Then Aurangzeb the emperor order to demolish the temple and the Raja Chhatra Singh included gilded elevations to the temple in the year 1678. History The history says that the idol of Lord Vishnu in this temple was made of a rare marble, which was imported from Vindhyachal Mountains. It is believed that the former king of the region- Sahil Varman had sacrificed his eight sons to get the marble and finally his eldest son namely Yugkara succeeded to acquire the marble. In fact, he was too attacked by the robbers but due to a saint, he had saved himself from robbers.

Visited the historic Church on 25.12.19 and enjoyed the X-mas celebrations. It's situated on a tiny hillock but easy to ride and not at all bumpy. Children were playing, shouting, singing, clicking photos from their mobiles, the staff at Church had a tough time to maintain the decorum. I lit two candles on the candles plate. Ambience was soothing, peaceful and relaxing; thoroughly enjoyed the company of Jesus and Mother Mariam!

At the top You got the next stop A key point in reaching this place of serenity lies in our ability to accept what is and what has been. External triggers are outside of our control. This world is blemished by imperfections, negative energy and craziness. We cannot control what goes on around us; only what is happening within ourselves. For instance, I may find myself staring at a frozen computer screen, frustrated at the computer or at myself for forgetting to save my work. I cannot change those circumstances. However, I can change the way I think and therefore feel.
