It was an afternoon well spent. We visited this place along with my parents, sister, wife and my dog. Trust me this gallery is wonderful. Souvenir shop is really good. Loved it. P.S. you can't take your pets inside the gallery which is understandable as the history and the art is very well preserved.. Kudos to the family for keeping this art gallery and museum in such beautiful form!

Shobha Singh Art Gallery is a treasure trove of artistic talent hidden in the Himachal Pradesh highlands. The exhibition pays tribute to Shobha Singh, a great Indian artist whose works have made an unforgettable impression on the world of art. The gallery is a peaceful hideout with an excellent collection of his paintings, which largely depict the Gaddi community, local landscapes, and religious subjects. Singh's use of vibrant colours and meticulous craftsmanship brings his subjects to life, portraying the soul of Himachal Pradesh. The gallery has a peaceful and inspiring atmosphere, with artworks artfully arranged against a backdrop of exquisite natural beauty. Shobha Singh Art Gallery is a must-visit for art enthusiasts, providing a profound insight into the world of a masterful painter. It's a place where culture, nature, and art seamlessly intertwine, making it a gem in the heart of the Himalayas
Dr Sakshi Supehia — Google review
A genius philosopher, an artist who sings folklore of unrelenting creativity and nonpareil taste with his rabab onto his canvas, lives here, in his soujourn, being uniquely alive past his days. He is lying on his bed; bradishing the unfinished painting of the parliament; telling vinettes and memories about other trail blazers and, of his bursting into the wide world of aesthetics through Germany, UK and Switzerland; reading of Buddhism, Sikhism, Islam, Christianity and Hinduism and, of how to write and speak better from Reader's Digest, Selected Poetry of Tennyson, and Punjabi Natak Charitra—from books tucked on the same bookshelf; persevering and reworking the concept which culminates in his magnum opus, "Sohni Mehwal", after six failures; and freely flaunting his artistic spark. He is deeply insightful and enjoys an unbreakable deliverance from Sikism's forefathers, of whom, he draws most lovingly and solemnly. An ecelectic man, if ever there was one, he is charging fearlessly into various behemoths of contemporary art while living harmoniously with shepherds, deers and Norah Richards. Today's youth needs to go see him for courage. I think he needs your help to live into this century for without vacuum the man and his passions incarnate are rusting. So donate if you can.
Gursimar Singh — Google review
Shobha singh art gallery is purely a tribute to the late artist. If you are an artist and looking to find some inspiration, it is not the right place. The place consists of a museum and a gallery with nearly 50 paintings. The use of the camera is prohibited inside the galley and museum both. The place is worth visiting but doesn't have provision like a clean toilet. Before going to the museum, i recommend reading more about the artist and their contributions as the gallery doesn't highlight them.

This place is the epitome of art and history preserved together. I would love to visit this place again. Though they should allow photography there but nonetheless my experience was really amazing.

It was great experience visiting the Art Gallery of Sobha Singh and seeing his Beautiful Artworks
Sachveer Singh — Google review
Great re-collection of the grand life that Sobha Singhji lived. But not as much worth a visit. He was a public figure pursuing his own life ambitions. As a tourist it is not easy to relate to his work and life. It is half hour drive from Palampur. Andretta pottery place and home stay have nothing much to offer unless you are a pottery lover. So coming this far did not seem worth it. The art gallery has a store to purchase a good collection of items of every day use and of souvenirs alike. These items are not unique and you can buy elsewhere in Palampur city as well. On top of it, the folks who run the place have set weird rules as if tourists are coming there to loot their property. There is no politeness in the conveying of the rules. Two things will help are relaxing some rules and writing a better copy.

Spellbound to explain the beauty of his art.. a masterpiece by S.Sobha Singh ji. Must visit places in Palampur. A place with a combination of Traditional Art and lap of nature at his own residence.

A very important gallery with so many fantastic works. Sobha Singh, the Saint, Philosopher and Artist was highly renowned with works displayed worldwide. The 2 brilliant guides, Ritu ( the chief guide) and Rekha the assistant guide were extremely knowledgable about all of the works presented in both the gallery and the museum. Both ladies went out of thier way to ensure that I recieved all of the revelevant knowledge about this important artist. I have enjoyed my visit and highly recommend this gallery to any international visitor to the village of Andretta. My guide Prakash convinced me to visit and I am very pleased I did. Thank you ladies, RITU and REKHA.

This quiet and peaceful space honouring Sobha Singh is a gallery worth a visit. The gallery will bring to you a piece of India's history. Also, for those who don't know this artist, his art work of the Sikh Gurus is a sacred part of most Punjabi households, the Gurudwaras, calendars. Check it out if you are in Kangra District of Himachal Pradesh. This tiny hamlet Andretta is a beautiful place to explore.

Had not known much about Sardar Sobha Singh till we visited this place. It was a new learning that the Guru Nanak Dev picture that we see anywhere in the world has been done by him. It was taken by SGPC on 500th birthday of Shri Guru Nanak Dev and that's how the world sees him today. His work on Soni Mahiwal, Guru Gobind Singh and many others is truly incredible. He has put life to each one of the paintings indeed. Must visit this place when in Palampur.

The entry fees is Rs.20. One can just relax in the gazebo. Aquarium is ordinary same like you get to see at most of the places. Kargil war site is also for children. Boating is decent. So if you have children's with you then only plan this place or else it can be skipped.

Have been visiting since it opened Lovely place for a family outing and a fitting memorial for our Kargil Martyr 🙏.Nice walking trails, a kid play area, lovely boating and especially enjoyed the small Aquarium they've started. The only disappointment was the so called Cafe.A total mess with dirty walls, plastic tables hardly anything to eat.The coffee was decent and so was the Maggi , though highly overpriced for such a poor set-up . The higher ups need to visit it themselves and make the place more tourist friendly.A person coming to spend a few hours here should be able to access reasonably priced food and drinks in a neat and clean ambience.

A decent nature park, ideal for a weekend getaway with family. There’s an entry ticket which you have to pay by cash, no online payment facility is available which is quite an inconvenience nowadays. The park is at a beautiful location and provides you with serene view of Snowcapped Dhauladhar mountain. Inside the premises, there is a toilet along with a drink water facility. There’s also an aquarium with around 15-20 species of fishes. At the very last, there is a manmade lake, where you can also enjoy the facility of boating. Overall, it’s a decent park, nothing special. But it definitely needs some maintenance. The lake also needs some cleaning as well.

20th Jan 2024 Very nice place. Fully enjoyed. However, maintenance has taken a back seat. Two boats and ropes of Burma Bridge were broken. I wish local administration takes the responsibility of looking after the place and maintain it. That will be a true tribute to Capt Saurabh Kalia.

You cannot miss to visit this place if you are tea as well as nature lover. Such beautiful tea estates and a tea factory to see the tea making. There is a beautiful cafe as well to sit peacefully and enjoy a cup of delicious brewed tea. You can purchase a variety of green and black teas from here. Tea tasting is complimentary with the tea factory visit. Loved the overall experience.

One of the best cafés and tea estates I have been. The cafe is amazing with a great view of tea estates, super nice chai & teas with a small cookie they give. The staffs are friendly and humble. It’s like having a hi tea in a natural and lovely ambience. I loved everything about this place.

Price:- None or Rs 150. Time:- 40 minutes. In house tea products available for shoppers. I have been scrupulously reluctant in indulging tea, for all my known folks keep on goading me to have a cup. So when I dived right into this green estate, I was taken aback by the rich taste, burst of aroma, bundle of health benefits, a well made cup could possess. You can visit the place for free, take some cool photos with seemingly endless amount of tea plants and nice trees, and call it a day. Unsurprisingly, I am not the only one after the natural elixir and free lunch: the estate is a flowerbud attracting celebrities and industrialists like bees. The tour, however, still is well liked by general public for its low cost of Rs 150 and it's generous package. The program begins by going through growth of a tea plant through tea leaves, tea buds, and silver needles. The guide is a professional gardener and the queries are enthusiastically entertained. Moving inwards towards the factory, the man tells how the chief product of the plantation was smuggled by an disguised englishmen from China, how the previous owner fled the estate during partition, and about the current owner, who resides in Calcutta and, is a man of class and here every summer reading lots of books. In the factory, is a display of distinct wholesale products, that range from powder to small pistachio-like in size. Increasing in taste as in size. Here, humongous machines run at 277°C in order to evaporate 80 kg of moisture from every 100 kg of really watery plants. If alone for enlightening the distinctions between tea yields at different levels of the process, the tour would still be worth it. One gets even more. Yay, one further gets to enjoy drinking decent amounts of Chamomile Green Tea(sleep panacea from Germany), Detox Tea ( skin lovers love this), classics such as Black Tea and Masala Tea, Tranquility Tea, Industrialised-Green Tea, Handpicked-Green Tea, German Rose Tea, Earl Grey Tea ( A Britton's livelong love ), Moroccan Mint Tea, among other fascinations.

If you are in Palampur do visit this place once especially if you are a tea lover! I went in with a friend just for the tea gardens as I'm not a tea fanatic. But the view, the silence and the food! Although, I felt the food was a bit expensive for the quantity that you get, the quality and the view make up for the light pockets. Enjoy the view, switch off your phones and do take a light-weight jacket along as it can get pretty windy! PS: Loved the witty tea puns though!

An amazing place not to be missed if you love nature and tea. The estate is located away from Palampur city but is worth a visit. We took the guided tour which was reasonably priced at 200 INR/person and got to know the magnificent history of tea in general and the tea estate in which it is grown. The tour of the factory itself is a revelation. Tea tasting was well organized and allowed us to appreciate the different flavours that were presented. They have a nice restaurant that serves delicious food, snacks, and tea. A must visit if you are in or around Palampur!

Cliffy's Cafe is a charming eatery nestled in the heart of Palampur, offering a unique dining experience. The cafe boasts jungle-themed seating with tree trunk and log furniture, providing a picturesque setting to enjoy food and drinks while surrounded by nature's beauty. Whether you choose to sit indoors or outdoors, the ambiance is delightful, complemented by the soothing sounds of splashing water and birds chirping.
Nested in the heart of Palampur, lies this beautiful cafe with Greenery all around. I had the best solo time spent here. Good is good too specially South Indian- Dosa, Podi Idli, Brownie, Filter coffee are must try on the list. This place plays music of nature as you can hear lot of birds chirping. Also the host was sweet to offer options. I hope that Cafe's charm remains intact in years to come in a untouched beauty like Palampur.

I had a wonderful time at this establishment, as it had a charming atmosphere. When I visited the cafe in February, I discovered that it was the perfect place for a quick break and delicious treats. Every item we ordered was prepared perfectly and had amazing flavors. The ambiance and service created a welcoming environment that made me feel comfortable. The staff members were friendly and always had a smile on their faces. I highly suggest this place to anyone looking for a delightful break and tasty snacks.

Great ambience, staff and food in middle of beautiful hills. Found this gem place while exploring Palampur. Staff is really nice and always greet people with smile. Food is also good. They have both indoor and outdoor sittings. The food is fairly priced accordingly to quality and service they are offering. Must to visit place on your every visit in Himachal!!

Cafe is located in a beautiful natural space with jungle themed seatings made out of cut tree trunks and logs, fixed wooden benches and cafe styled chairs. You can enjoy your food and drinks while watching the scenic outdoors, splashing water sounds, and birds chirping. If you prefer indoors, you won't be disappointed by the ambience and aura it delivers. I had lemon ice tea and it was the most authentic one I ever had. Very refreshing and we'll prepared. Recommended if you visit Palampur.

The place is excellent for South Indian food. I visited 2-3 times during my stay in Palampur, and every time I got a warm service from them. They have a very good book collection.

I wanted to experience this place from a long time. Travelling so long makes this place a worth visit!! Every thing from vibe, food, staff and most most important is the view. I would request every one to atleast visit this place once. So so beautiful. I would request the owners of this place to never let its authenticity go... Just love being here beyond words!

Everything about this cafe was excellent; it is set in a gorgeous natural setting with seating inspired by the jungle made of tree trunks and logs, fixed wooden benches, and cafe-style chairs. The setting, the cuisine, and especially the food. All of the food we consumed — hot chocolate, fries, and honey ginger lemon tea —tasted excellent. The service was excellent, and the costs were fair as well. I would dearly love to return. The beautiful outdoors, the sound of splashing water, and the sound of birds chirping may all be enjoyed while eating and drinking. You won't be let down by the atmosphere and aura it provides if you prefer indoors.

Palampur was a pleasant detour during our Dharamshala trip, thks to the city being shut due to the India NZ match. What caught our attention was the unique menu this cafe offered. As scandalous as a chocolate dosa sounds, it is a must must try. If you are looking for authentic South Indian cuisine, cozy ambience, soulful music - this is absolutely the place for you. A lovely set of hosts with a very interesting story is the cherry on the cake. If you are in Dharamshala, the drive to Palampur & a visit to Cliffy's is definitely worth the time and effort.

If you're in Palampur, Cliffy's is a must visit. Great food, lovely ambience, and some very lovely people run this place which is nestled in a quiet and serene environment surrounded by greenery on all sides. You can spend hours here reading a book or playing games with your friends and family. My most favourite thing, it's a pet friendly place. Please be a responsible pet parent and ensure that your pet doesn't create ruckus coz this is one of those very few places where the people are very kind to let your pet sit inside with you. We went for lunch and left way past evening. We tried their drinks, desserts and food, and loved them all. Highly recommended.

Enjoy delectable cuisine at this must-visit establishment, offering the finest dishes in the city. The food is of exceptional quality and is priced affordably. While the naan bread offer may vary based on their workload, it's advisable to inquire before leaving to avoid disappointment. Despite a previous oversight regarding naan availability during takeaway, the restaurant generally provides satisfying meals for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
Taj Restaurant in Palampur was a delightful experience. We ordered naan with chana and chana bhatura, and it was a scrumptious treat. The food was served quickly, and the staff was friendly and attentive, making our visit enjoyable. The naan was soft and perfectly cooked, complementing the flavorful chana. The chana bhatura was equally delicious, with the bhatura being fluffy and the chana rich in spices. The portion sizes were generous, ensuring we left with satisfied appetites. The ambiance of the restaurant was comfortable and clean, adding to the overall positive experience. The prices were reasonable, making it a great choice for a tasty, budget-friendly meal. Taj Restaurant in Palampur is a fantastic place for a quick, delicious, and reasonably priced meal with fast service and friendly staff. It's a must-visit for anyone looking for good Indian cuisine in the area.

We have been regular customers of this restaurant for years but today the food was really disappointing. Ordered full plate tandoori chicken but felt that the quantity was less than half. Chicken was hard and quite dry. Not expected from a restaurant with such a reputed non veg restaurant, where people come from far off places to eat chicken. Overall bad experience.

Food is good and tasty but the free naan offer is based on how busy they are. Never mentioned in last 2 times that there is no naan in the takeaway and I only realised after coming home. It wasn't that busy as well. Please ask them before leaving or you will be not in for the expected naan.

The restaurant Lounge Kitchen offers a pleasant experience with its old yet neat and clean building and rooms. It provides affordable accommodation options compared to others in the area. Additionally, its convenient location by the road ensures easy access for guests. In terms of food, this establishment is highly regarded for its diverse menu and high-quality dishes. The staff members are also known for their politeness and excellent service. One must definitely try their delicious chicken kebab naan dish as it receives positive reviews from customers.
My experience was good. The building and rooms are old but everything is neat and clean. If you are searching for a cheap room for Stay it is quite good as the price for room per night is quite less as compared to others. The other good thing is that the hotel is situated side the road that's good for convenience.

Experience a gastronomic expedition at Joy Restaurant, an esteemed establishment in Palampur, Himachal Pradesh. With a rich legacy spanning over five decades, this iconic eatery entices culinary enthusiasts with authentic Indian delicacies. Situated in the bustling Main Bazaar, its vibrant yellow facade allures food lovers from afar. Indulge in their delectable chat papdi and faluda matka kulfi – unparalleled delights that capture the essence of the region.
First of all, this is one of the oldest restaurant in the Palampur. It is located in the main market of the town. They serves you the best chat papdi, rasmalai and faluda matka kulfi. Even I have tried evening snacks and had a dinner over here. Everything is good 4 out of 5. This is pocket friendly restaurant.

A good place, we went there for the first time, my overall experience was good as it's a cozy place. We tried their sandwich, burger, brownie with ice cream and chill potatoes( it was only the fries mixed with sauces). Food was quite yummy and rates were also genuine.
Purnima — Google review
I had food two times there. I didn't like the taste each time. The paneer and mushroom dish wasn't good. I had chat papri and dosa the next day, out of which chat papri was decent but masala dosa wasn't good. Even sambar and coconut chutney tasted like nothing. Service was nice and the ambience was good as well.

Food is OK. But I doubt their hygiene. Hand wash is set out side the restaurant.that is on the public road side. Most of my visit in this restaurant i felt their supremacy behavior. It is easy to fill the stomach. But it needs a good heart to fill both the stomach nad mind together, where we get a perfect dining experience. They claim their long years of experience in this field but I don't know whether the generation changed or not. It is heart filling when we get a good experience

We ordered rice, dal fry and one mixed veg. We just stepped into this restaurant for lunch when we visited Palampur. They had different varieties of smoothies and shakes. Food was good but nothing special. Overall for good service I would have rated 3.5 but 3 for food and considering the ambience and all.

A pure veg restaurant with amazing food. Falooda and chat is a must have. It's usually crowded so keep time for waiting.

They serve the best chat papdi and faluda matka kulfi in town. You have options in North Indian, South Indian and continental food as well. The masala dosa and paneer naan was satisfactory. For people having a sweet tooth, the kewra lassi and ras malai are also a must try. The service is fast. A must go on your visit to Palampur!
