The place deserves at least two visits - one during the day to enjoy the experience in full daylight and one in the evening, when the lights are on highlighting the details. Good time is the time of evening prayers and taking the Holly Book to sleep at around 10 p.m. During the day it is worth to visit the place with a local guide who will show you places that otherwise you would miss or have no idea that you could visit like the kitchens serving 40 to 50 thousand meals each day... And you enjoy that beautiful place free. Unfortunately taking photographs in the temple is strictly forbidden - pictures only outside...

Experience the positive energy here. Nice & beautiful surrounding. Few things that can be helpful for you if you're visiting here first time :
Submit your shoes on outside counters, cover your head, dont take any battery/Power Bank inside & lastly take photos with precautions.

Even after going there, it doesn't feel like we have reached here, it looks more beautiful in the evening, the light around and the gold shining from the lake, it looks like a dream, this place is a symbol of peace, tranquility and community. , cleanliness is also taken special care here, it is also true that people who come here pray for their well-being and it is fulfilled, it is open 24 hours and food is also available 24 hours free for all passengers. So I will say that we must come here at least once in our life.

Undoubtedly, this is the main attraction of Amritsar and a must visit place. Whatever is your religion, you are be welcome inside. This place is definitely going to make you calm, you have to feel it yourself, no word can describe it. Few things to keep in mind while visiting the temple :
1. Try to arrange an accommodation close to the Golden Temple, so that you can visit the temple early morning and late evening.
2. Being the main attraction, this place can get reao crowded, keep that in mind.
3. You need to cover your head, put off yours shoes and wash your feet before entering.
4. They have the baggage counter inside the temple, you may deposit your bag there

Golden rays of sunrise gleam,
Offering hope in a tranquil dream.
Lustrous shrine in Amritsar's heart,
Divine beauty, a sacred work of art.
Eternal peace in its hallowed dome,
Nurturing souls, a spiritual home.
Tranquil refuge for the soul,
Echoes of prayers, a sacred role.
Majestic in its architectural grace,
Peaceful aura, a hallowed space.
Luminous in the candlelight's gleam,
Enveloping all in a serene dream.

The Golden Temple in Amritsar, also known as Harmandir Sahib, is an iconic Sikh religious site and a must-visit destination. It is a place of profound spiritual significance and architectural beauty. The stunning golden structure is surrounded by a serene and picturesque lake, creating a sense of peace and tranquility.
The temple complex is open to people of all faiths and offers free meals to visitors, showcasing the Sikh principles of equality and selfless service. The interior of the temple is equally impressive with its intricate artwork and gilded walls. The atmosphere is often filled with devotional music and a palpable sense of spirituality.
However, the temple can get crowded, almost daily and especially during religious festivals, so it’s advisable to visit during quieter times for a more serene experience. Overall, the Golden Temple is a unique and spiritually enriching place that is well worth a visit for its cultural, religious, and architectural significance.

Long queue but absolutely worth the wait. I loved it here, had a good spiritual experience. Generally temples are all commercialized in India but not this one, we weren't asked to pay even a single penny anywhere. And enjoyed the yummiest langar. Punjabis do have a big heart.

Beyond comprehension, so beautiful, so clean, so impressive. The langar is so well organized and well done. The water is so clean, and the atmosphere so friendly despite the massive crowds. Kudos to the organizers. Visiting the Golden Temple is a very spiritually uplifting experience. The temple is open to people of all faith and gives one the ability to do Seva, to serve humanity. its a must visit place at least once in a lifetime.

Beautiful experience in the holiest Sikh place. We visited at night (~9 pm) to witness the “putting to bed” ceremony and it was amazing . We also visited the kitchen and seeing the amount of people eating there was quite extraordinary. Keep in mind you need to take off your shoes and socks to enter the temple, but it is quite clean. If you enjoy this kind of place it is worth coming to Amritsar just to see this temple . The temple is very beautiful 😍
Bhoopendra Mewada — Google review
Smooth flow inside (entry into the main worship area does have a very long queue however) and stunning views. The temple has a beautiful philosophy of welcoming all and I encourage all to take it up.

It would be wrong to evaluate the place of this spiritual Guru because the Guru's house is the house of greatest peace and happiness and prosperity, there he is the house of peace and ending the restlessness of the mind. After going there, I felt that God was with me in such a way that I was not worried about any reason, I was just so engrossed in having darshan that I did not even realize that I had seen God with my own eyes.

Situated amidst lush greenery, Khajjiar Lake is a picturesque water body nestled in the midst of rolling hills and meadows at mid-altitude. Its location appears straight out of a storybook, as it seems to magically appear in the middle of a forest drive. The landscape is surreal and offers multiple activities for visitors to indulge in. Even with all the hustle and bustle around, one can find solace here and appreciate its natural beauty.
This one is certainly right out of a story book.
It just magically shows up in the middle of a forest drive.
The landscape is surreal and even though there might be multiple activities happening In and around it, you'll be able to find yourself a spot to relax and sink the beauty in.
It is a approx 20kms from the Gandhi Chowk in Dalhousie.
The ride to the place is equally beautiful as you pass through a forest reserve.
Highly recommended.

Extremely scenic and on par with any European tourist places. I feel, a few unnecessary tourist attractions (such as Horse riding and inside park eateries) should be avoided to make this more pleasant
Satish Garikipati — Google review
I visited Khajjiar shortly after the monsoon (one of the best seasons to visit). It is a sprawling green meadow with a marsh lake in the middle and surrounded all around by deodar trees. There is a cottage run by Himachal tourism situated right in the meadow (the iconic photo that you see when you search Khajjiar in Google), where you can book your stay through the Himachal tourism website. It was lush green and the weather was pleasant in September. The good thing about Khajjiar is that it's not overcrowded (yet). There is so much fresh air and tranquility. You can take a good walk around the perimeter and then sit on a bench and enjoy the view how much ever you want. This place is a great escapade from the noise and crowd of the city.

Overall khajjiar is very beautiful..Lake just adds to the beauty of this place. i don't know if boating is there or not but there was very less water when i visited may be due to heat. Cleaning work was ongoing to remove peripheral Grass to make it look good and a bit bigger as it was looking like a swamp.

beautiful and calm place to spent a day with family or friend. It is know as Mini switzerland. Khajjiar lake is very small, there is no water activities here. There is only green ground between high hills. Deodar tree and green grass makes beautiful view. Cold breeze and fresh sun light fill your life with freshness. shops for eating and hotels for staying is available here. You can camping in the night. But concern with locals there is risk of wild animals also.
You can do paragliding, Horse riding etc.
for enjoying snow visit in Jan and feb month,
avoid visit in monsoon season.
Try to book hotel in Dalhousie come in day time and go back to hotel in the evening.
There is a good temple of khajji nag to visit.

Iconic lake shown in bollywood movies especially in Rishi Kapoor's movies, The Khajjiar Lake. I went there with lots of expectations and although 80% passed as natural beauty of this lake is amazing but mankind failed by 20%, we ruined it.. it shrinked badly. I don't know the reason but it happened .. Khandar ko dekh ker laga ki imarat buland rahi hogi.. we had great time around the bugiyaals of lake. Good spot for spending 1-2 hours easily and for family picnic

PRANJAL NAYAK — Google review
My experience at Khajjiar Lake was far from impressive. I visited in the month of December and without the picturesque snow, the place loses its charm, leaving little else to captivate visitors. The lake itself is ordinary, and the surroundings lack the magic that comes with a snowy landscape.
When the snow is absent, Khajjiar Lake becomes just another average spot, lacking the allure that's often associated with this destination. I'd advise skipping it unless you're fortunate enough to catch it during the rare snowy season. Without the snow, it's a rather unremarkable visit.

Visiting Khajjiar Lake in Himachal Pradesh was an enchanting experience that left me awe-inspired by nature's beauty. The moment I reached this picturesque location, I was greeted by the breathtaking landscape of lush green meadows, surrounded by towering deodar trees.
I took a peaceful stroll around the lake, absorbing the tranquility and enjoying the cool breeze that gently caressed my face.
->For adventure seekers, there were options for horse riding and zorbing, which added an extra dose of excitement to the visit.
-> Highly recommended for those seeking solace amidst nature's wonders! 🏔️🚶♂️📸

Dainkund Peak is a scenic tourist attraction with a temple located at the top, offering magnificent views. The uphill trek of around 1.5 km features some inclines and steps along with straight natural paths. Visitors can experience cold breezes, especially during winter when the fields are covered in snow. During summers, it offers lush greenery with residual snow. The location's picturesque scenery makes it an excellent spot for capturing nature photography.
Amazing experience. Little step climb but good path has been made to reach the top. U will get ice patches on the way. It will be too breezy , so carry proper cold clothing.
Ajay Nadar — Google review
This peak had the best views throughout the trekking. It's a short 2 kms around trek, which is a little steep for 1km and then it gets better. But you will enjoy the lush green views (if you are visiting after monsoon, we visited in September) all the way to the top.
Sheetal Agarwal — Google review
Best trek one must do while visiting Khajjiar/kalatop or else can plan a day to dainkud if visiting to the region.
It’s a 3 Km trek and nature gives you beautiful way to heaven.

Trekking with beautiful scenic views and breezy air makes the trek more beautiful and lovely. It's little bit more for beginners but can surely give a try. The journey and destination both are worth it. Roads and steps are made so it's easy.

Beginner level trekking of approximately 1.5 km with some steps, straight natural path in between with some slopes. Cold breeze will be touching your skins and with high velocity. At the end of the trek there is a temple "Pohlani Mataji" and behind that you can see Mount Kailash peak (As written on the Temple Wall) and other mountain ranges. In winter you will find snow covered field and during Summers you can enjoy greenery with some residual snow. Location is very picturesque and can take some great pictures of nature here.

Excellent place; a must visit to trek for those who are not used to trekking. The stone and paved path uphill is full of breathtaking views. At a distance of 17 km from Dalhousie Bus Stand, Dainkund Peak, perched at an altitude of 2755 m, is the highest mountain peak in Dalhousie. This is the most important peak and also a very popular place to visit in Dalhousie. Tourists can enjoy 360° view of the entire valley from this peak.
Dainkund is also a famous place for short trekking near Dalhousie. The name Dainkund is said to have been derived from Dain - Kund, which means Lake of the Witches. It is believed that in old days this mountain was the residence of witches. The sound of the breeze passing through the trees makes a musical sound, due to which this peak has also acquired the name, the singing hill.
This peak has two major attractions; one is the Indian Air Force base and the other is the Pholani Devi temple, which is a temple of great importance. One of the most interesting facts about this temple is that, except a trident there is nothing inside the temple premises. The peak offers a clear view of the flow of the rivers Ravi, Chenab and Beas which flow at the base.
Trekking is the most common path to get to the top and is a beautiful experience, with great views and fresh cool mountain air. Being the highest peak, it gets maximum snowfall during the winter season. The ascent to the Dainkund begins after crossing Lakkar Mandi. About 6 km drive from Lakkar Mandi leads to Indian Air Force Barrier, where the cars are parked. From the end of the motor able road to the temple one has to walk around 3 km of which the first km is very steep. However, this steep stretch of walk is quite safe as the path is made of wide concrete steps.

The Masroor Rock Cut Temple is a cluster of monolithic sandstone temples located in North India. These ornate structures were carved from living rock between the 8th and 10th centuries, displaying beautiful architectural carvings that have suffered severe erosion over time. The temple complex bears similarities to smaller temples at Angkor Wat in Cambodia and offers a stunning reflection when viewed from the nearby tank.
This is a rare monolithic temple of Northern India. It is a marvelous heritage of India.
Very well maintained by archeology department of Indian government.
Tickets can be purchased online only.
Also the temple complex is very best and clean. 2 3 stalls out side for food and beverages.

A peaceful tranquil place that gives you a view that will be with you for life. The view of the temple from across the lake is the best. While it can get really hot during peak summer the way we experienced in June 22, however if you carry an umbrella, you can walk around without much fatigue.
There is plenty of shade to sit and enjoy the view. You can also walk beyond the lake to enjoy some Maggi or other quick snacks or biscuits or soft drinks.
Photo options are a plenty.
Overall a place worth going to and spending at least couple of hours to soak in the peace and awe of the view and wonder about how many centuries back people would have carved out these structures and what would've motivated them to do it.

Amazing to see such an old structure with intricate sculptures. There is a lot of erosion though. There is no guide to help you appreciate the place better.
Many structures are glued together or reinforced to help stay in shape.
Going up the stairs gets you nice view of the scenery around as well as the top view of the temples.
Well spent hour.

Beautiful place. Not known too much as it is quite a distance from the main city. But the journey was worth it. The rock cut temples show our rich heritage and depicts the kind of art we had in our country. It is partially destroyed due to an earthquake in 1905 but the remaining part is well maintained. However food facilitates not close by so don't plan this visit so as to overlap with lunch times.

A hidden beauty far away from all the limelight. Takes about 2hrs to reach from Dharmashala by car. No bus routes available nearby. A digital entry fee directly payable through app( no cash taken). This temple is in complete ruins post a massive earthquake in 1800’s. No much history is known, no guides available. But the massive ruins speaks for itself the magnificent temple that existed earlier. A pond is beautifully constructed in front, which still has certain ruins beneath it. Apart from the ruins, the view of the temple from the top is heart breaking! However, the sunset view is spectacular at the top!

This Temple is a truly breathtaking site to behold. The intricate carvings and stunning architecture of this temple leave visitors in awe of its beauty and history.
The temple, located in the state of Himachal Pradesh, is believed to have been built during the 8th century by the Pandavas. It is said to have been carved out of a single rock, which is a testament to the incredible skill and craftsmanship of its builders.
The intricate details etched into the walls and pillars of the temple depict various gods and goddesses, mythological scenes, and celestial beings. The beauty and intricacy of these carvings are truly awe-inspiring.
Visiting the Rock Cut Temple Masroor is an experience that will stay with you for a long time. The peaceful surroundings and beauty of the temple offer a spiritual and serene atmosphere that is hard to find elsewhere. I highly recommend visiting this extraordinary site if you are in the area.

Very beautiful rock cut temples that were partially destroyed by the 1905 earth quake. All the temples were defaced and some faces missing maybe done during the mughal rule. Not sure though. Take 1.5 hour to reach here from Dharamshala by car. The place is overall clean and has a nice tea stall outside. Worth the visit if you're interested in history

The Rock Cut Temples of Masroor, located in the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh, India, are an impressive architectural marvel dating back to the 8th century. Carved out of a single rock, these temples exhibit intricate detailing and craftsmanship, reminiscent of classical Indian architecture.
Visitors are often awe-struck by the grandeur of the temple complex, which consists of a group of rock-cut temples dedicated to various Hindu deities, primarily Lord Shiva. The main temple, dedicated to Shiva, features a towering shikhara (spire) and intricately carved bas-reliefs depicting scenes from Hindu mythology.
While the temples have suffered some damage over the centuries due to natural erosion and earthquakes, they continue to stand as a testament to the skill and dedication of the artisans who created them.
Visitors to the Rock Cut Temples of Masroor can expect a serene and picturesque setting amidst the backdrop of the Dhauladhar mountain range. The site offers opportunities for exploration and photography, making it a must-visit destination for history enthusiasts and travelers exploring the rich cultural heritage of Himachal Pradesh. However, accessibility and infrastructure around the site may be limited, so visitors should plan accordingly.

Recently explored Masroor Rock Cut Temple (11-11-23) – a hidden gem for a family picnic. Even during the Diwali Festive Season, the serene atmosphere prevailed with fewer crowds. The temple, a marvel of ancient architecture, left me in awe. The journey from Kangra unfolded breathtaking mountain views, riverside scenery, and enchanting pine forests. The road, though occasionally bumpy due to recent heavy rains, was generally well-maintained.
Entrance fees were surprisingly low, and the online ticketing process, facilitated by the attentive guard, ensured a smooth experience. The strategically located restroom atop a hillock provided not only convenience but also a panoramic view of the surroundings. Cleanliness was a pleasant surprise.
A quaint eatery near the temple offered delightful treats – from scrumptious Vegetable Maggie and momos to an outstanding pizza. The pizza, in particular, was a standout. I cherished nearly two hours in this picturesque setting, perfect for both photography enthusiasts and those seeking a relaxed picnic spot. Masroor Rock Cut Temple is not just a place; it's a reason to take pride in our rich heritage.

A small beautiful rock cut temple placed in Kangra valley near Lung town. According to a locals, the Pandavas of Mahabharata resided here during their incognito exile and built this temple. They left the temple unfinished as someone suspected on them. The place is quite and has a small pond which adds more beauty to the site. There is a ticket for 20 rupees that you can pay online by a qr scan available on the site.

Visiting this serene place offers a profound sense of peace and tranquility. Watching the monks engage in their daily prayers fills the atmosphere with a calming energy. Taking a leisurely walk around the exterior of the complex is a truly enchanting experience. The beauty of the surroundings, adorned with prayer wheels along the path, adds to the spiritual ambiance. Each turn of the prayer wheel symbolizes a devout wish or prayer, creating a rhythmic harmony with the surroundings. Amidst the quietude, one can't help but feel a deep connection to the spirituality and history of the place. It's a sanctuary where time seems to slow down, allowing visitors to immerse themselves fully in the moment and find solace in the presence of ancient traditions.

This complex has the Tibet memorial, namgyal monastery, official residence of H.H. Dalai Lama and various hostels/offices which are not open for normal tourist. Some basic things that one must remember here;
1. Always wear masks
2. Follow the rules written on the wall
3. Maintain silence in the temple.
The namgyal monastery was set up by H.H. Dalai Lama and other refugees who came from Tibet after China's invasion. It has the reamin of the main idol of the original namgyal monastery from Tibet. You can sit and pray outside the main temple, as there are a lot of mattresses and area for public.
One needs to maintain silence there all the time. There is drinking water available but please don't use it untill it's necessary because the residents of the complex are already facing water shortage.
Enjoy the area, pray and learn about Buddhism, Tibet and H.H. Dalai Lama.

The Norbulingka Institute is a Tibetan cultural center situated in a tranquil environment surrounded by bamboo, trees, and flowing water. Its purpose since 1988 has been to safeguard and teach traditional Tibetan art forms. The institute features several restaurants, workshops where artisans work on woodcarving, metal statuemaking, thangka painting, and embroidery. On Sundays there's no access to the site's facilities besides that it also has a shop offering traditional crafts.
A lovely place! The institute was very well maintained, had a nice doll museum and a beautiful temple. Its a great place with a peaceful temple. One can see various craft workshops in progress like wood carving, wood painting, metal sculpture, thanka painting etc. Normally they would take in students for training but not now, due to the pandemic. They have a shop also, though overpriced. I loved the temple here and the vibes. One can sit here quietly and meditate. It also has a cafe, which was quite decent. Overall, the vibe of this place is very positive and refreshing, with water fountains flowing around.♥️

Norbulingka works to preserve Tibetan art and culture. The location is beautiful and well maintained, with little touches, like a dragon spewing water, all over. You can take a guided tour to see first hand artists at work keeping ancient methods alive. The raised thread stitching (with threads wrapped around horse hair!) is something to see. The temple at the top is absolutely lovely, do sit there with your eyes closed and let the peace envelope you. There is a small restaurant to the right as you enter, we enjoyed the butter tea, sticky rice, and cheese momos. Please do visit the institute shop to buy art made by the folks who work at the institute - what better way to support them.

Norbulingka Institute is an ancient monastery dedicated to the Tibetan culture. You'll hear soft meditating Buddha hymns as soon as you enter this place. There is a huge statute of Buddha established in the heart of the institute. You can sit there and meditate for long hours.
Other than that you'll find a little shop selling all kind of Tibet clothes, souvenirs, and incense products. All the items are made in-house by local artisans.
The 'museum' in the monastery was the most fascinating part for me. The museum precisely explains the Tibet culture and several Tibet mythologies. You can read the boards around to get detailed description of every element included in the museum.
Overall, it was a knowledgeable, serene, and beautiful experience visiting Norbulingka Institute.
Lastly, don't forget to rotate the giant prayer wheels in the monastery for some good vibes.

Really great and peaceful place. They provide a guide free of cost which will help you to understand the place in a better way.
The guide started from the entrance where there were 4-5 gods about whom the guide explained well.
After that we went to see the wooden workshop where the skilled artists were creating there artwork. Don't try to touch and feel the artwork. The guide will give you a properly finished piece of art to touch and feel it.
After that we went to see Thanga painting workshops where first we went to the newbie section where the rookies were practicing the Thangka Painting then we went to the Senior section where we had to remove our shoes after that we went to another arts section where they cut different cloth pieces and sew them together to make the artwork.
After that we went to the museum where different themes and stories of Tibetan culture was represented.
After that we went to the main monastery which was very peaceful and calm. On the first floor you can see various Tibetan literature and Statues.
After that we went to the shop centre where you can buy the finished artworks from the artists.
The sound of water flowing everywhere was very soothing. A must visit place.
There are also places to eat and stay here which you can try as per your need. Washrooms were available and were clean.

Visiting Norbulingka Institute in Dharamshala was an absolute delight! This unique institute is a beacon of Tibetan arts and culture preservation, and I can't recommend it enough. Allocate 3 to 4 hours for your visit to truly immerse yourself in all it has to offer.
The ambiance here is serene and captivating, providing an unparalleled opportunity to explore and understand Tibetan culture. The presence of the monastery adds a spiritual touch, enhancing the overall experience.
One of the highlights for me was the Doll Museum, a true treasure trove of meticulously crafted Tibetan dolls. Each doll tells a story, adorned in traditional costumes that beautifully reflect the rich heritage and customs of the region. The attention to detail is simply astounding.
Moreover, witnessing local artisans in action was a memorable experience. Their craftsmanship is awe-inspiring, and it's fascinating to see them at work. The institute also boasts a classy shopping center where you can find a wide array of cultural artifacts. While the artisanal products are exquisite, it's worth noting that they can be on the pricier side.
To top it all off, the cool cafe within the institute is a perfect spot to relax and soak in the ambiance. Whether you're enjoying a cup of tea or savoring a snack, it complements the overall atmosphere wonderfully.
With an entry fee of just 50 INR, Norbulingka Institute offers incredible value for the enriching experience it provides. I highly recommend adding it to your itinerary while in Dharamshala. You won't be disappointed!

Mata Chintpurni is a very popular temple in the Hindu community. A lot of people visit daily to seek the blessings of Mata Rani.
The temple is very well organized and the people management is amazing. There are two parking available and I would suggest parking your vehicle in the first parking which is the government one as the charges are quite low and you can get a darshan token from there.
The temple has started the lift, which wants to go directly in front of the darbar. The lift is free for old age people and handicapped people. But others have to pay a fee of 1100/- to avail of this service. Token for the loft is available is first parking only.

Ancient origin
When Lord Vishnu severed the burning body of Maa Sati into 51 pieces so that Lord Shiva would calm down and stop his Tandava, the pieces were scattered over various places in the Indian subcontinent. It is believed that Sati's head fell at this place and is thus considered one of the most important of the 51 Shakti Peethas.
The goddess residing in Chintpurni is also known by the name of Chhinnamastika. According to Markandeya Purana, goddess Chandi defeated the demons after a fierce battle but two of her yogini emanations (Jaya and Vijaya) were still thirsty for more blood. Goddess Chandi cut off her own head to quench Jaya and Vijaya's thirst for more blood.
She is usually shown holding her own severed head in her hand, drinking one stream of blood spurting from the arteries in her neck, while at her side are two naked yoginis, each of whom drinks another stream of blood.
Chhinnamasta, the headless goddess, is the Great Cosmic Power who helps the sincere and devoted yogi to dissolve his or her mind, including all the preconceived ideas, attachments and habits into the Pure Divine Consciousness. Cutting off the head suggests the separation of the mind from the body, that is the freedom of the consciousness from the material confines of the physical body.
According to Puranic traditions, Chhinnamastika Mata will be protected by Shiva – Rudra Mahadev in the four directions. There are four Shiva temples – Kaleshwar Mahadev in the east, Narayhana Mahadev in the west, Muchkund Mahadev in the north and Shiva Bari in the south – which are nearly equidistant from Chintpurni. This also confirms Chintpurni as the abode of Maa Chhinnamastika.

Chintpurni Temple is dedicated to Mata Chintpurni Devi who is also at times referred to as Mata Chinnamasta. Chinna means ‘without’ and Masta stands for ‘Head’.
Out of all the pieces, it is believed that Maa Sati’s head fell here, making it one of the most important Shaktipeeth. Mata Chintpurni Devi is a symbol of self-sacrifice and according to legend, she is protected by Lord Shiva in the four directions. As such, there are four temples surrounding the main temple. Kaleshwar Mahadev is present in the east, Narayhana Mahadev is found in the west, Shiva Bari in the south, and Muchkund Mahadev in the north.

Holy & Sacred place 1 out of 51 Shakti Peeth.
You will found Himachali culture all arround Mandir parisar.
Also, please take yatra parchi before entering the main building as without it they will not allow for darshan...

A very beautiful and serene place. It's up on the hill. There are two ways to reach the top. One way where Cars can park beside the valley, have a steep climb. It's difficult for old-aged devotees. There is a washroom at the top but in a very bad condition and not maintained. Otherwise early morning darshan don't take much time. We had to purchase a ticket to be in the normal line.

One of the 51 Shaktipeeth of Goddess Durga. It is also known as Chinnamasti Temple. Visited here during Navratri and there was a huge crowd, it took around 5 hours in the line and darshan. But the good part is the queues are properly maintained and managed by the authorities, there are also all kinds of facilities for devotees starting from food ( langar), accomodation and lodging, medical facilities etc. Must visit during Navratri.

The Viceregal Lodge & Botanical Gardens is a historical place museum in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, India. The lodge was built in 1888 for British viceroys and it now houses the government offices. It is an impressive Gothic-style building and it offers guided tours.
A beautiful monument to adore & go through the history which was well narrated by the Guide. The historic importance of building ranging from its construction, water harvesting system, first building to have electricity back in those days to Shimla Conference every detail is worth knowing. The building is been kept well maintained both internally & externally. The lush green gardens with variety of flowers can hold you forever and make a beautiful landscape backdrop.
The staff is very humble, helpful & polite.
Advice:
1) Be mindful if traveling with young kids.
2) Book your slot well in advance to avoid waiting else you can enjoy the scenic beauty in meantime.
3) Usage of camera is prohibited inside the building.

Iconic colonial architecture, sprawling gardens, must-visit museum
The moment you enter the Viceregal Lodge premises, you could taste a slice of Shimla’s rich colonial history. The building’s architecture captivates you immediately and takes you back in time.
The popular botanical garden in the compound has key plant species. And the lawn in front of the building is really pretty. You could also explore the extended parts of the garden by taking staircases climbing down.
Important info: Tickets for entering the premises are free. The museum stays busy during weekends.

An exquisite piece of British Architecture in stone and wood. The Stone facades, and the wooden interiors are embellished richly without any room for complaint. There are several artifacts and memorabilia on display too. But only a portion of the ground floor is open to public, and the rest is off-limits. The first floor is entirely for scholars and students.

Inside hall is breathtaking all made up of teak wood.

When we visited there around 3, weather was normal, however as soon as we got the tickets, and we were about to join, rain started with hails and the roads got covered with layers of ice and the day and place got more beautiful. And due to this, we had to wait a lot to see this historical building but it was worth waiting. Now talking about the building, the building architecture is great.

Beautiful place and beautiful garden. You need to shed 30rs per person for garden and outside area.
Rs 200 ticket for both inside tour as well as garden area. Which is zero value for money in my opinion. Nothing to show, low maintained area with negligible information. Old valuable item are removed and only some pictures are added in each room to pass your time.
You can choose according to your taste.
A cafe with snacks and beautiful surroundings is a plus to visit this place.

The place is awesome to visit. If you are staying nearby victory tunnel or Old bus stand shimla, you can directly walk ad visit the place. You cannot get any bus or local vehicle to travel or you have to book a cab which will cost you approx Rs500 from old bus stand shimla. It is about 2.5KMs from victory tunnel. The site opens at 10:30AM and closes at 5PM. We were two people so we were charged Rs 200 for entry and guided tour inside the monument. The view of this place is amazing from outside and inside both. You are not allowed to take photos inside but you can click pictures from outside.

The Viceregal Lodge in Shimla is a historic gem that offers a delightful experience for visitors. During my visit, I was amazed by the majestic architecture and beautiful surroundings. The lodge was once the summer residence of British viceroys, and its grandeur still shines through.
The exterior of the lodge is stunning, with intricate designs and lush green lawns that create a serene atmosphere. Inside, the lodge is filled with vintage furniture and elegant décor, transporting visitors back in time to the colonial era.
The guided tour provided fascinating insights into the history of the lodge, highlighting its importance in India's past. I particularly enjoyed exploring the grand ballroom, library, and dining hall, each offering a glimpse into the luxurious lifestyle of the British elite.
The lodge's location in the midst of nature adds to its charm, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding hills and valleys. It's the perfect place to relax and soak in the peaceful ambiance.
While the lodge is well-maintained overall, there were a few areas that could use some attention to detail. Despite this, my experience at the Viceregal Lodge was unforgettable, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Shimla. It's a fascinating glimpse into India's colonial history and a must-visit destination for history buffs and nature lovers alike.

This is a fantastic walk from Mall Road, that if walking fast, you can get there in about 45 minutes. I would not suggest the walk for anyone that has mobility issues due to the steep inclines at times but man is it absolutely gorgeous the whole entire time.
A great place to take dates, or just go to sit and relax in the sun.
The building itself is absolutely gorgeous and Fantastic for photos.
Plus just 50 rupee (2023) to get in isnt bad.

Rashtrapati Nivas Chaura Maidan Road, Near, Observatory Hill, Boileauganj, Shimla, Himachal Pradesh 171005, India
This is Christ Charch on Uporer Mall Road above Lakkar Bazar an immensely popular attraction of tourists throughout the year. A prominent landmark of Shimla and its silhouette is visible for many kilometres around the vicinity of Shimla city. Christ Church is one of the enduring legacies of the British Raj.It is the second oldest church in North India. Christ Church continues to be well maintained and is in relatively good condition. The clock's original mechanical mechanism has more recently been replaced with an electrical equivalent. However, currently whilst all 4 faces of the clock remain in synchronization, they rarely reflect the correct time.
The church contains five fine stained glass windows. One represents the Christian virtues of Faith, Hope, Charity, Fortitude, Patience, and Humility. It's a place where one can feel the beauty of nature and the popular picturesque landscape also named as '
The Ridge' of Shimla surrounding hills including Jako Hills, the Abode of the Great Hanumaan Temple's and its long portrait. In addition there will be another two legends whose portraits have been installed to remind us of their benevolent contribution for building our choice-able attraction in this part of Himachali Culture.

Zakir Hussain Rose Garden in Chandigarh is believed to be the largest rose garden in Asia.
In addition to roses, the promotional literature says there are over 1000 varieties there, there are also several medicinal herbs, plants and trees. The roses are laid out in aesthetically designed flowerbeds, surrounded by beautifully landscaped areas interspersed with trees and flowering shrubs.
I couldn't see the garden in full bloom as I visited towards the end of March in 2015, after the Rose Festival was over, and many of the flowerbeds were being relaid for the next season.
There are some fountains towards one of the entrances, and a large wind chime.

I visited the rose garden in Chandigarh with my family last week. It is supposed to be the largest rose garden in Asia, but I was disappointed by the lack of roses. There were very few roses and they were not very colorful or fragrant. The garden looked more like a regular park with swings and slides for kids and a fountain for decoration. The only positive thing was that my son enjoyed playing on the slides and swings for an hour. I think the rose garden needs more attention and improvement to live up to its name and reputation.

It’s the highest point in Shimla & the 100+ ft huge statue of Lord Hanumanji is visible from almost any part of the city. To travel uphill there are various modes one of them is you get a government taxi for 20 rs person one way from near McDonald's/ brew estate . It's quiet a climb so do try stairs only if your are habitual to it . Even where the car leaves there is a little climbing from there and that too on unmade stairs . So for elderly it's best to avoid .

How to Reach : 1. Take Ropeway Approx 500-600 ₹ per person 2. Take a Cab Approx 500 ₹ per Cab 3. Take the staircase.
It is said that Lord Hanuman took rest here when HE was on His way to collect Sanjeevani booti for Lakhshmana. The Lord Hanuman statue is around 108 ft tall and can be seen from Shimla Mall Road & The ridge. It is a very serene place. When we reached Aarti was going on and a local woman (probably possessed) was doing the Aarti and at the end Pujari ji sprinkled Jal on her and she was screaming for a while then back to normal. Didn't get time to explore the story behind it due to crowd.
Pro Tip : Don't wear Sunglasses/ specs or any other valuable ornaments as monkey gangs are looking for it and they will snatch it and you wouldn't even know. Exchange it for the Prasada/Food 😁 Jay Bajrangbali 🙏

Also keep your cellphone safe. Be careful while taking pictures.

According to the Ramayana, Hanuman stopped at the location to rest while searching for the Sanjivni Booti to revive Lakshmana. A giant 108-feet-high idol of Hanuman was unveiled at Jakhu Hanuman temple on 4 November 2010. At 108 feet (33 m), it surpasses the statue of Christ the Redeemer, which measures at 98 feet (30 m), in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The cost of construction was Rs 1.5 crores. The public unveiling was officiated by Abhishek Bachchan.
The temple is accessible by foot, horse, taxi or ropeway. The Jakhu Ropeway is an aerial lift that links a point near the centre of Shimla to the temple. It was developed by Jagson International Limited and opened in 2017.

Jakhoo Temple, located in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, is one of the captivating and spiritually significant destination. Jakhoo Temple is renowned for its serene ambiance and the awe-inspiring statue of Lord Hanuman. You can take Ropeway or a taxi to reach there and Beware of Monkeys, they try to snatch your belongings. The temple is perched atop Jakhoo Hill, the highest point in Shimla, which offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. The main attraction of the temple is the massive 108-feet tall statue of Lord Hanuman. If you are visiting Shimla, this is a must destination to visit.

Worth the visit. We came with the cable car. Stunning views and the huge statue of Hanuman is amazing, with small monkeys running on it's feet

Shri Hanuman Mandir Jakhoo is located on the top of Jakhoo Hill in Shimla. It is an upclimb from the main road but vehicles reach up easily with some steep routes in between. It is easily navigable via Google Maps.
Legend says that Lord Hanuman has taken a halt at this point while returning back taking the Sanjeevani booti with him for Lord Laxman. It is believed the idol came out magically after he left the hill for his journey ahead.
It's a beautiful temple and the sunset here is magical. The premises of the temple are well maintained and a small parking lot is also made outside the temple for vehicles. The temple has a lot of monkeys and it is advised to keep your spectacles away while visiting as monkeys tend to snatch them for a barter for food. Due to the presence of monkeys, it's believed that the presence of Lord Hanuman is evident.
The temple is also home to 108 foot tall Lord Hanuman statue which is a sight to see. As you enter Shimla, it is clearly visible from afar.
The temple premises has a help desk as well for any queries and bhandaras are also organised frequently for the masses.
It's an unmissable iconic spot if you're visiting Shimla, highly recommended for your Shimla Trip.

Highest spot in Shimla, there are two ways to reach here, by taxi or car or by stairs ( direct from Mall road to temple with proper shade and pathway)
And if you are staying near by and you love trekking then must walk into the woods.
Caution: be aware of monkeys 🙏
The view from the temple is mesmerizing.

Visited here on my Himachal Trip.
The temple's serene surroundings, rich history, and beautiful architecture make it a must-visit destination for those seeking spiritual solace or a peaceful getaway.
History of the temple
After Lakshmana was cured, Hanuman went back to place the mountain in its original site. He rested on top of the Jakhu hill for some time. It is said that the top of the hill got flattened due to Hanuman's weight! The temple has been built around the place that is supposed to have the footprints of Hanuman.

The place is absolutely worth the trail. The walk is about 3 kms and there are two roads leading to the same point. One is from the side of a hill on the edge, where you can see the rest of the valley and mountains . The other is from an inside road where cars usually go. They both meet at a road where you'll find a tuck shop , you can get a couple of snacks options and juice and water there. And then just about 500 mtrs ahead you see the sunset point. It has a couple of seating spots. If you're early, you can occupy one. The view is breathtaking and it gets pretty cold and windy (feels like under 10°) so make sure you carry a cap, or muffler and an extra layer to cover yourself. There's swings and a bathroom as well but it doesn't have running water. Could be a bit more maintained. Post sunset , it can get dark very quickly but the way back isn't lonely at all since many people walk back from there. The sky on your trail back turns into many hues of warm and cold tones. Spent hours here in this quaint and serene spot.

Sunset Point in Kasauli is a unique place. It's friendly for all ages to wait at, for the sun to set. The walk to the point is a trudge about a kilometer. It's worth it. Noticed that the sun doesn't set, it goes into the background and merges in the sky in beautiful colors yellow, orange, brown......extraordinary !!!!

Amazing experience of sunset here. The lights, shades, and colors that one experiences here are beyond words. Uncle's tea is a relief here after the long trek to this point. Reach a bit early to have a better viewing spot as it gets crowded around the sunset.
Washrooms could be cleaner as they are paid...elderly people would definitely enjoy the view but reaching there could be a challenge. If paid golf cart service can be arranged, then it would be great for them.
Request to all: Please do not litter this place as it is one of the cleaner places among sunset points.

The walk to this point is beautiful. But you'll get better views along the way rather than there. Although one of the only things you could do while in/near Kasauli.
It's almost a 1.5 km steep walk, so not advisable for anybody who has any foot pain related problems.

It is a nice walk reaching to the sunset point. The views are amazing from here. There are some swings/Jhula for children. Public toilet is there which you can only find at this place only throughout Kasauli.
People sit here, click pictures and enjoy their drinks/chips.
Overall it is worth going there if you really want to enjoy walking because it is almost 2 km. walking from the main market.
You cannot go on your bike or car, it is a cantonment area so you have to walk only throughout the Kasauli.

Its a nice walk up till the sunset point in Kasauli. Its a nice tourist place but to reach there you need to book taxi from Kasauli as your car is not allowed in cantonment area. Your car will be parked in the parking and you will have to walk till old Kasauli heritage Mall road. For sunset point as well as manki point you will need a local taxi which will charge around 300 to 500 rs for return fare. Sunset point is around 3 km from city centre and the driver will drop you at the starting point from where you have to walk around 500 mtrs which is a beautiful walk.

Taste Bun Samosa at Narinder Sweets (Tannu). It’s different taste from normal samosa. You will enjoy.

This is more than just a lake with lots of fun things to do. For starters, there are several food kiosks with moderate prices and a wide range of selections.
Boating is the main attraction, and there are various alternatives available, including paddle, row, and shikhara boats. The view is spectacular, and there are various additional activities available, such as rock climbing and mini swings, to help you unwind. This is the most crowded spot in Chandigarh, yet it is also the most beautiful. You may unwind and enjoy the scenery while spending the evening with family or friends at a reasonable fee. The boating time is half an hour, but it was well worth it for a paddle with the choice of two or four people in a boat. This is a must-see place in Chandigarh.

Sukhna Lake in Chandigarh is a sizable lake, and the best time to visit is in the evening when boating facilities are available. However, in windy weather, boating may not be available for safety reasons. There are plenty of eateries at the entrance of the lake, making it the ideal place to spend quality time, especially for some 'me' time.

The Sukhna Lake in Chandigarh weaves a magical tapestry of serenity and splendor. This picturesque man-made marvel, born from the vision of the great architect Le Corbusier, stands as a true oasis amidst the modern chaos of the city.
Imagine a place where time seems to slow down, and worries melt away like droplets on the lake's glassy surface. Sukhna Lake beckons you with open arms, inviting you to escape the mundane and embrace the extraordinary. The verdant foliage of the Shivalik Hills embraces you like a warm hug. The gentle breeze carries the faint melody of birdsong, setting the stage for a symphony of nature's finest performance. One can have an awesome view of the sunrise over there with cold Breeze and pleasant weather.
Majestic migratory birds from distant lands descend upon Sukhna Lake, transforming it into a vibrant aviary. They paint the skies with their grace, and birdwatchers and photographers alike are left spellbound by this feathery spectacle. As the sun dips below the horizon, the lake dons its golden cloak, and the air becomes infused with the aroma of camaraderie and laughter. Families gather for heartwarming picnics, children chase each other with gleeful abandon, and friends share stories that will echo in their hearts for eternity.

Most picturesque place of chandigarh Sukhna Lake is a reservoir at the foothills of the Himalayas. This 3 km² rainfed lake was created in 1958 by damming the Sukhna Choe, a seasonal stream coming down from the Shivalik Hills. Originally, the seasonal flow entered the lake directly causing heavy siltation.
It has ample food joints in the food court, drinking water facilities, boating facilities (Rs 250 for 2 seater boat + 250 as security). Good for nature lovers.

I have been visiting this place for past 20 years and it still holds the charm. It brings peace and tranquility. Walking the entire track feels amazing while looking at the greenery on one side and the water with paddle boats and kayaks on the other side. It's one of the most inclusive public spaces I have come across in India. There are people running, walking, doing exercise, couples, elderly, kids and a lot more. Sukhna has something to offer to everyone. I prefer the Garden of Silence side as it's more peaceful compare to the entrance.
Monsoon is one of the good times as everything is lush green and the lake is full. Winter is also great as you can sit and relax on the toasty stone embankment or the grass and eat oranges and soak in the sun.
It's a place one must visit if going to Chandigarh.

Manki Point, also known as Sanjeevni Hanuman Temple, is a small Hindu temple located on a hilltop in Kasauli. The temple is dedicated to Lord Hanuman and is home to many monkeys. Visitors can enjoy sweeping views of the surrounding area from the top of the hill. The temple was recently reopened after being closed due to Covid-19 restrictions. Visitors are not allowed to bring cameras or phones and must deposit all bags at the check point before proceeding on foot.
So peaceful and beautiful place to visit. It is on peak of the hills of Kasauli.
You need to be fully vaccinated otherwise you won't be allowed to pass the security.
Phones, baggages, snacks and electronic devices are not allowed in there because of the increased cases of monkeys snatching these items.

1. Take a cab from kasauli market, it takes 10 minutes to reach there.
2. Its military area so you are not allowed to take any electronics gadgets even phone, smart watch, charger, airpods.
3. At entry gate you can deposit your phone and bag with charges.
4. After that they will give you ID card and ask for checking.
5. Its takes 15-20 minutes to climb only through stairs.
6. You can enjoy beauty of nature in minimum 1 hour and maximum 2 hour.
Note - Only temple is there and canteen is also there at top.

To reach this point one can either get a taxi or walk from Mall road. It's around 4km if you want to walk and it's doable for almost everyone. Once you reach the main entry point, you'll have to show an ID card and deposit any bag and electronics equipment (smartphone/smartwatch/cameras) as most of the reviews mentioned. There is a small deposit fee (50 for a bag with 2 phones). From the main entrance you'll still need to walk 5 mins to reach the main stairway, from where you can get to the top. The view at the top is great but if you're unlucky (like me) and go when there's foggy weather you won't be able to fully appreciate it. The only flaw is that there's no decent food points in the whole complex. The closest one is on the Mall road.

The best view point I must say, the place was open after staying closed due to Covid. No camera or phones are allowed, we have to deposit all bags at the check point and then proceed on foot. A divine experience. It is approx 500 metres walk inside the Airforce Complex before you reach the base from where there is an approx 500 metres climb up the hill to the temple. The climb is steep but is not as difficult as some people sound in the reviews. There are enough benches enroute…. one can catch a breath whenever required and continue. It is a proper covered, concrete paved way, interspersed with stairs. There is a restaurant and a Prasad Shop on top. There are a few monkeys enroute but they are used to humans and do not disturb you….. but will grab any eatables…. so do not carry ANY eatables….. even the Prasad on the way down !! Apart from the divine experience, the view from top is breathtaking.

The temple is almost 2.5 kms from mall road parking. You can get taxis from the parking area, personal vehicles are not allowed. The taxis will cost INR 200 one side. You should carry a small bag with you to deposit your phone and smart watch at the counter.
There are staircases and ramp to reach the top. It's a good height of around 500ms to climb to reach the temple. You will take about 30-45 minutes to reach on the top.
You can buy Prasad on the top itself. There is a small shop where you can eat snacks but don't forget to carry cash because you will not have for phone with you and card doesn't work here.
It's quite windy at the top so don't forget to carry a stall or a light sweater based on the weather you can decide
The entry is till 1PM in the afternoon and than it reopens at 2PM. The temple is not closed just at the entry gate where you get passes these people are on lunch break.
It's advised to wear shoes because the stairs are Rocky and good distance to walk.
While coming back as well you can get taxis. Same INR 200 each side.
Be careful with the monkeys. Don't carry eatables which are visible to them. You can have something in your bag or pocket.
Overall It's a good experience

Manki point or the sanjeevni hanuman mandir is situated inside the air force area in kasauli, himachal and you're not allowed to carry any electronic items inside the airforce area, they provide with paid lockers to keep your stuff.
Then there are mandir steps of 500m but on mount height. It's quite exhausting climbing those steps up, but when you reach on the top that feeling of temple and view from that top is just mind blowing.
Legend behind temple:
The legend says that during Ramayan, when lord Lakshman was injured and Hanuman ji was asked to carry sanjeevni for him, his one foot touched this mount top and hence people made a temple there dedicating to him.
Lake & Hindu festival site in forest & wetland reserve overlooked by mountains & temples.

The Renuka Lake popularly/ religiously referred to as the Renuka ji is located not very far from Nahan and Paunta sahab. We were disappointed to find the two different approaches to the Lake to and fro were NOT at all maintained and the "road" conditions were pathetic.
The boats were easily available which needed to be self operated. How I wish operators were also available and the surrounding roads could be manned by lake security to avoid any mishap.
Stay arrangements are also there. I am sure if there is a strong will the place could be further developed for more tourist attraction which at present seems to be driven more by the religious sentiments.

Awesome Nature with spritual vibes. There is small zoo also. Mata's temple is awesome. Himachal govt hotel. is also there. Awesome food we had there. Superb experience. Avoid weekend for crowd.

Renuka mata and parshu Ram temple. Not crowded. Lake is in 3 km radius, with lots of fish and tortoise.people feed fish with rusks etc.separate space for male and female for bathing in lake. It 42 km from Poanta sahib. Highway work is under process from Poanta sahib to satton, after that single road starts. Avoid visiting in monsoon . Condition of road get worse due to rain.

Solace, comfort and serenity!
Himachal hold a lot of stories and mythologies just like other hills. Renuka ji is one such place to learn about and cherish.
Manage your expectations with the boating sport as it's closed due to covid and less footfall, also plan itineraries beforehand.
Government has done a perfect job to maintain the historical place by a circuit of wildlife zoo for entertainment.
A must visit

The most beautiful place and temple of Mata Renuka Ji. Surrounded with green forest and a beautiful lake. Looks like an untouched area with zero pollution though it is quite a famous shrine.

A very famous religious place of sirmour....the temple place is well surrounded by the renuka lake which is a long walk along with a small wildlife sanctuary there..... although reaching there is some hassle for a person with motion sickness like me but was worth it ....a very decent place to visit with family and is not that crowded too for u to grab some quick moments of peace for yourself away from the regular city life.

Lovely place. Holy lake. People worship this lake, so plz avoid boating, if want o go for boating go barefoot. Must visit place situated in sirmaur distt himachal pradesh india. On the rim bank of this lake a track is developed, u must have a walk on this or have a cycling round there. Cycles are available there on rent. Mini zoo is also a attraction for animal lovers. This zoo need maintenance. Must visit for 1 day atleast.

No maintenance of the lake as well as animals in the zoo.. only a few animals are left there deer, 3 leopards, & only 1 black bear....no one was there to look after them.. they looked very hungry and thirsty... The water kept for them was extremely dirty... I heartily request management to please look after them...it's a very humble request 🙏 save Renuka jeel & mini zoo.....

Wonderful place for a weekend visit. The walk around the lake is simply a refreshing experience. The sound of birds chirping, the noise of monkeys (sometimes frightening too!), The beautiful 🐟 fish in the water (you can see them playing next to the bank/shallow water). Walk is around 4kms and i think i heard someone saying that this is largest lake in Himachal that is not watered by any stream.

Tiger Fall -Chakrata
Nature & Parks
Hiking area
Waterfalls
Hilly walking trails lead to this remote, towering cascade framed by vegetation-covered rocks.
Most amazing getaway so far! This place is soo isolated and beautiful with a powerful nature presence and you feel every smell and every insect. I went with my family at August end and it was raining the magnitude of the tiger fall was 10 times the normal. It was so so good. Fortunately our camp was 100 metres away which was also helpful. We found the waterfall nearly empty and we clicked a lot of photos. After 12 pm people start to come a lot and it's hard to find space there. Week days are good to visit as weekends are unpredictably crowded. You have to pay 30 rs as an entry ticket. The stone paved way could be slippery in the fall area so be careful. You can bring your pets there. There is a small 1 km trek to the high view point where you can see details about tiger fall.
I suggest you bring your own car until the lowest point on a stone paved road.

Tiger falls is a hidden gem in Uttarakhand. You have to trek for about 1 km downhill to reach the actual falls by foot or take a precipitous route by car after you reach the destination. Please do not take the car unless you have a good local driver because the road is pretty bad. There is a railing and moderately well maintained stairs throughout that you can use to go down by foot. Returning can be a tiresome if you are not used to physical exertion. There are no shops or water points while going down. But there are small shops at the start. The falls is a nice sight to watch. There are some changing rooms and toilet near it but they are not maintained well. The place is not crowded because people have not yet discovered it. It is a matter of time till this place becomes crowded and dirty!!

Tiger Waterfall in Uttarakhand is a hidden gem waiting to be discovered by adventure seekers. After a scenic trek of over a kilometer, visitors are rewarded with the sight of this majestic waterfall cascading from a height of 50 meters. The journey to reach the waterfall adds to the excitement, with lush greenery and refreshing streams along the way. Once there, tourists can't help but marvel at the sheer beauty and power of the waterfall, making it a memorable experience for all who visit. If you're in Uttarakhand and craving a dose of nature's splendor, Tiger Waterfall is a must-see destination.

Lovely natural waterfall near Chakrata.
Absolutely stunning with water cascading down vertically, causing a huge water spray near the fall. Be prepared to get drenched in the spray.
Visit the falls in the morning, as the sun in then in the falls, good for photography.
Sanjoy Bhattacharya — Google review
It's a serene place, with an amazing location of the fall..the road till the fall is not good at all..
However you can still drive (prefer a car with good height clearance)..
The waterfall is totally worth it, especially when the water is in its full might !!
There are small shops close by, where you can get tea, Maggie etc...!!
Must go with the kids, no issue at all 😊
Abhinav Aswal — Google review
Small, but still worth it when i visited in summer.
Special note: there are two parking. One on top from where proper steps are going down to reach the falls. Another down near the falls and steps can be avoided. So when you step down from top parking it almost reaches the down parking. But on the way the journey is really good.
Recommendation: with elders, small kids - go directly to down parking.
It's a very tall fall so it makes the sound and that's how it's name originated, it sounds like the roar of a tiger when water falls from such a height.

Nice place but crowded, go on off time, fall is Big Enough, better to go with Trek, High Risk if you drive a 2*2 Car till the end, Entry ticket is there and car parking is 50Rs. Good For family Traveller, Avoid Bathing.

Had an amazing time at the Tiger Falls( Largest Direct Falling Waterfall in India ). The roar of the falls is truly the exciting part as it falls from over hundreds of feet high. If you’re Lucky you would see Rainbows forming nearby adding to the beauty of the place.
Make Sure to go in an off season or when it’s less crowded as it spoils the Fun and experience to Relax peacefully. Sit on the rocks nearby and experience the beauty of nature🦋

More than 1km downhill walk, uphill is bit stressful.
Takes around 1 hr 30mins. But fantastic experience.
Option of going by car, kachha road but not worth if you wanna enjoy visits and make them memorable. Walk through village on slopes and stairs. Once you see the fall drop from approx 50m, you are spellbound watching the highest direct waterfall in India

Tiger Waterfall, a majestic spectacle in Chakrata's embrace,
Where nature's power cascades with elegance and grace.
Roaring and plunging from heights above,
It embodies the untamed spirit of the wild, pure and tough.
Amidst the verdant forest, its beauty stands tall,
A breathtaking sight that captivates all.
The mighty Tiger Waterfall, a sight to behold,
As its waters gush down, stories of nature unfold.

The waterfall is nice and not very crowded,
The water is very cold and clean.
There are two ways to reach the water either you can take your vehicle but that path is extremely narrow only one car can pass at a time and also at a very steep angle or you also do a hike. It is almost a 1km hike.
Other than that the waterfall is beautiful.

Changing rooms and other facilities were not so clean, we had to change outside. The fall is pretty but the crowd is too much. It's very refreshing to take a dip in the water though. The Trek to the waterfall is very pretty and not that long. I would suggest take the walking route down and take the bolero taxi while going up.

less populated tourist place indeed. There’s trek route as well as directly reach near the tiger fall by vehicle.
Hardly 1km of trek starts from the view point.
And 5km trek starts from Chakrata.
you need to buy ticket of rs 30.
There are many home stay near the water fall.
Very peaceful place to visit with friends and family .

The experience was nothing short of magical. Upon reaching the entrance, I was greeted by a scenic trek through dense forest, which set the tone for the breathtaking adventure that awaited. The well marked trail made the journey enjoyable for both seasoned trekkers and beginners like myself. I suggest take the walking route. The waterfall is very beautiful but the crowd is too much. We visited this place in June 2023. Overall a must visit destination for nature enthusiasts.

Fall is really beautiful and height is around 30-40 feet. Nearly 90km from Dehradoon. Roads were good and crowd was decent. You can either go with diwn hiking or can go in your car. Limited parking facility with first come first serve. Food options were there too like Maggie, omelette, sandwich etc. You can take bath in the fall.

Tiger Fall is a hidden gem in the hills of Chakrata, Uttarakhand. It is one of the highest waterfalls in India, with a height of 50 meters. The waterfall is surrounded by lush greenery and rocky terrain, creating a stunning contrast of colors and textures.
The sound of the water crashing on the rocks is soothing and exhilarating at the same time. To reach the waterfall, one has to trek for about 2 km through the forest, which is an enjoyable and adventurous experience. The trek offers scenic views of the mountains, the valley, and the flora and fauna.
The waterfall is a perfect spot for a picnic, a bath, or a photo session. The water is cold and refreshing, and the mist and the rainbow add to the beauty of the place. Tiger Fall is a must-visit for nature lovers, trekkers, and photographers. It is a place where one can relax, explore, and have fun in the lap of nature. Tiger Fall is a memorable and rewarding destination for anyone who visits Chakrata.

Kempty Falls in Mussoorie is a popular tourist destination that offers a stunning view of cascading waterfalls, pools and boating with vantage points and cafes. The site comprises seven waterfalls, which make for an awe-inspiring sight. Visitors can hike to the top to enjoy more breathtaking views of the falls. This attraction is perfect for groups of friends and families looking to spend quality time together. However, it may not be suitable for young children as it is located on a mountain.
The waterfall flows under a bridge. It's absolutely free to visit. You need to park you car slightly before or after the bridge. You can take the stairs and go to higher levels of the waterfall. There are shops where you can change and rent swimming trunks to take a dip in the waterfall. One such shop is absolutely free. There are also a few local food shops as well. Overall it's a good tourist attraction.

The Kempty falls itself is very pretty and the water appeared white and clear(just like you might have seen in some pictures). You can either walk or take a cable car ride to see the waterfall. You will see hundreds of people getting into the water and having fun. There are a few lookouts to to enjoy the waterfall and take pictures. Kempty Falls was only 5 kilometers from our hotel JW Marriott but I guess is a good 45-60mins. drive in a car from Mussoorie(depending on the traffic). Stop littering and save this wonderful spot for others to enjoy as well. The city has a task cut out for them to take action and tidy up this place which I believe is one of the attraction in Mussoorie!

We recently visited Kempty Falls with our family and had a wonderful time. The falls themselves are a stunning natural attraction, offering a refreshing and picturesque spot to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature. The sound of the water cascading down the rocks was both soothing and invigorating.
Apart from the falls, we were pleasantly surprised by the nearby market. It’s a great place to shop for wooden gifts and souvenirs. There was a wide variety of items, including beautifully crafted wooden artifacts, which made for perfect mementos. Additionally, the market had a good selection of items for ladies, ranging from accessories to clothing.
Overall, Kempty Falls is not just about the natural beauty but also offers a delightful shopping experience. It’s a perfect spot for a family outing, combining the joy of nature with a bit of local shopping.

What a beautiful water fall. I saw a waterfall for the first time in my life and it was so beautiful. The water was too cold to handle. Loved the atmosphere there It was very soothing, although there were a lot of people and it always seemed a bit crowded, you may have to wait a little bit to take your pictures but believe me it's worth it,
. You can bathe under the waterfall and there's a good facility of keeping your goods in the locker and changing room so you can bath and keep your things away from water.
The scenes are very beautiful but the only drawback is you have to take too many stairs to reach there..
You can also enjoy the waterfalls above it they're small but very beautiful ❤️.

Located in Mussoorie at an elevation of 6000ft, Lal Tibba Scenic Point offers breathtaking views of the Himalayas. This popular tourist spot is known for its picturesque perspectives and lush green vegetation. Situated on the roof of a modest cafe, it provides visitors with the opportunity to enjoy cake, coffee, and a stunning view. The adjacent ruined estate offers an even better vantage point of the valley and surrounding hills.
From this particular place you can see amazing iconic places, valleys, and people too. One visiting this place should go around winters end or rainy end to see the clear mountains covered with snow. It's clearly seen from Lal Tibba. And from the other side you can see the entire Mussoorie and that is so amazing.
Have a great time ahead and please be gentle towards nature.

It is the highest point of Mussoorie and there are 2 cafes, one is Savoy cafe, famous for its patisserie and the other one is government approved (as they call it) restaurant, which also has large binoculars on the roof. But you won't be able to see much from it as the lens were not very clear.
However the atmosphere here was amazing. Cool winds, beautiful valley view and decent food. The only question is that would you spend 45 minutes traveling to this place and another 45 minutes while returning, just to spend sometime here?

If you still want to go there, just order a regular hot chocolate it tastes good.

This place should renamed as HEAVEN! No one can express it's beauty in words. It's truly amazing. It'll hug you with it's immense beauty after a harsh drive through the steep mountain roads. And if you're lucky enough you'll be able to experience snowy roads.
And there's a cafe at the scenic point which offers freaking amazing food with a splendid terrace view of Himalayan wonderland ❤️

The view is breathtaking from the top. One can get a clear glimpse of the true beauty of the hills of mussoorie from here. The road to the top is very narrow so one needs to be careful while driving by personal car here. The best is to take professional and experienced driver or local cab.
There is a private restaurant here where one can get a clear view of the natural beauty. The entry ticket to which is Rs.50 but if one order something to eat from here then that ticket price would be adjusted from the bill. We ordered a sandwich, Maggie and coffee and it was tasty. One can enjoy some quality time here.
Please walk around here to enjoy the view if you have time.

Lovely view... Best for sunset... For sunrise you should go to George Everest... 50 rs entry for top and if you order something than entry was free. Vehicle easily can reach the place. No need to walk.

This place is situated in Landour, which gives mesmerizing view of himalayas. You can go and enjoy the view from the top of the cafe only after taking something from their menu to eat or drink. Or else you can pay 50rs as entry charge to enjoy the view. I tried cold coffee which was good with the view

Lal Tibba Scenic Point is a breathtaking vantage point that offers panoramic views of the majestic Himalayan range. Standing atop Lal Tibba, one is mesmerized by the snow-capped peaks, verdant valleys, and the town below. The cool mountain breeze and the serenity of the surroundings create a tranquil ambiance. A visit to Lal Tibba is a must for nature lovers and a perfect spot to soak in the beauty of the Himalayas.

This place is located on a much higher slope from Mall road. You should not visit here in rainy or foggy season, then of course this becomes worst part of trip. No such good view to travel such place.
There is just this cafe lal tibba point. Here you have entry ticket of 50 rs per head, then you can have items at cafe from that cost.
Only after entering the cafe you can use telescope to get some view.
Mostly overrated.

Not worth it.
It's a hyped place, just because celebrities went to these shops.
The restaurant is charging money (₹50 per person) for the scenic point view, although Binoculars is so outdated that you will not see anything- SCAM 😡😡, you can see a better view with your EYES.
Food- not good, unreasonably high price and serve filled with cheese with no taste. Cheese, Salt or Spicy those are the only flavours you will get here. And Biggest SCAM they said Entry fees will be deducted if you order food.
Instead go to Savoy Cafe which is in front of it and still better who won’t charge a penny for terrace and even food is good.

It is a simple place in Landour from where you can get a beautiful view of mountains , there is nothing much to do here even if you plan to skip this place in Landour that is also ok. The ticket price is Rs 80 per person.
It is known for its panoramic views of the Himalayan range. Visitors often praise its scenic beauty and the breathtaking vistas it offers. The peaceful atmosphere and the opportunity to see prominent peaks make it a popular destination for nature lovers.
The place is good for couples as well there is also a telescope along with cafe in lal Tina to drink and eat something.

Mindrolling Monastery, also known as the Place of Perfect Emancipation, is a significant Tibetan Buddhist monastery in India. Established in 1965, it serves as a major learning institution for Buddhist scriptures and various other subjects. Originally founded in 1676 and relocated to Dehradun, the monastery features well-kept gardens, a bustling retail arcade offering antiquities and souvenirs, and a 60-meter-high Stupa containing relics.
A very peaceful place to visit and to experience Buddhism. The structures are very beautiful. Must visit.

It is a beautiful place, so calm and peaceful. The murals inside the stupa are simply magnificent. You can spend a lot of time inside the stupa in silence, just absorbing the beauty and calmness around you. Right outside the monastery there are quaint eateries that serve authentic Tibetan food. The cafe inside the place was too laid back and took time to serve a cup of tea.

It is located right next to the Buddha statue. Serene place, with wide, well-maintained lawns and a pathway through them. There are white stupas, a central shrine, an old mercedes on display, and even a gift shop complex. Usually open till 7pm.
In the evenings, the place becomes vibrant with many families and visitors. Buddhist mantras fill the air through speakers installed all over the place. Outside the monastery, there are many eateries and cafes serving Tibetan and Indian food.
If you're in the neighbourhood, it's definitely worth a visit.

Mind rolling Monastery in Dehradun is a Tibetan Monastery where many monks live and live their ascetic lives.
The Monastery is a great to enjoy the serene atmosphere away from the jostle of the city life.
The architecture here is exotic and unique and it stands out among other structures of the city.
There is a small market for buying Tibetan stuff.
The lawns are well maintained and manicured and are a delight to watch.
One thing that stood as an eye sore were short video makers who were making dance videos in the pious compound disturbing the calm and serene atmosphere.
Parking here is available and is paid.

Lovely place to visit with your family and friends. One of the few calming places in Dehradun to get some much needed peace and quiet.
They have a big sprawling property, majority of which is covered with open green lawns to spend your time at leisure. There are various other huge religious structures built in and around the place.
The most magnificent structure of them all is the monastery itself which sits right in the middle of the place and is most definitely an architectural marvel. The attention to detail on it is on another level entirely.
The place is never crowded, so it is always a good time to visit, but do try to come when the prayer is going on as it is the only time in day the doors of the monastery are open for the public.
There is also a small arcade of sorts which has a couple of shops which sell religious products and a vegetarian Cafe.
Overall, it is a very positive place to visit. Even if you aren't interested in anything religious, spending some time here will most definitely make your day better.

Built on land gifted by Nehru to the Tibetan Buddhists as they fled after the 1959 uprising against Chinese Communist rule in Central Tibet. One of the largest Buddhist institutes in India. The stupa was built in early 2000s funded largely by foreign donations. Worth a visit. One must check their shoes to enter the stupa. The murals are worth the effort. The upper level is lined with maybe a thousand gold buddhas.

Hindu temple on top of a high, steep hill with views of the Himalayas & a popular annual festival.
Reaching this temple is itself a task for every person. From the ground till the main temple premises, it has a 1 km trek, or a little more. You have to trek for the beautiful and insane scenic views from that temple. It's a beautiful temple and has snow patches till the month of March. It is 9 km from Dhanoulti. Youncan drive a car or a two wheeler to the base of the temple. Ropeway work has been going on, soon it will be established, and anyone can reach the temple sitting in a small cabinet through a mechanized ropeway over a small fee.

One can visit any time but the Best time is to visit during winters if you want to enjoy in snow too.. and scenic view is amazing as the sun sets
Trek is tough during winters as walking path is fully covered with snow and one can slip easily.. and sports shoes are only preferable
Non trekkers and old age people should take rope way

One of the most beautiful temple at the height above 3000 meters. The temple itself is so beautiful, one can sit and enjoy its beauty for long hours. Like the saying great views come from the hardest climb so here also there is a steep trek of about 2 kilometers. The trek takes at most 1 hr to complete. Also rope way is also in construction hopefully in march 2022 it will complete. After the trek you will get the complete view of Garhwali Himalayas. We recently planned a family trip to Dhanaulti. We travelled by car. We started from NCR region and reached the place in approximately 6 hours.
Instead of the Mussoorie - Dhanaulti route. We took the haridwar - Rishikesh - Chamba - Dhanaulti route. This route was good and very less traffic.
Rishikesh to Chamba route is awesome and one can comfortably maintain 40 km per hour. After Chamba we took left turn and drove 28 kms to reach our stay at GMVN ( Gadwal Mandal Vikas Nigam ) - Dhanaulti Heights.
Next morning we went to Surkanda Devi Temple. Temple is 7 kms from GMVN hotel. We drove by our car and parked near the temple entrance.
One need to climb at least 60-80 meters to reach the mountain trolly ticketing counter. Return fare of mountain trolly is 195 + GST. Travel time is 5-10 min.
Once we reach on top .. view is amazing. Beautiful temple.. 🛕

Don't go here on weekends. If going on weekends or holidays park your car as far as from Temple. As nearby there is no parking. Charges for cable car is 200each. Cameras are allowed at the top but don't start making reels and take inappropriate pics.
Trek is easy as it's a bit more inclined than expected.

Very beautiful place. Reach before 4Pm to get access to the ropeway to the top of the temple. Or else the trek of 1.5Km (which is way way too steep can be difficult for the heart patients and people who smoke regularly).
Do carry a water bottle with you also some warm clothes and a cap which can cover your ears.
Wind here at top is very cold and is high in speed too. This is at one of the highest peaks in the area.
One can have views of chamba, rishikesh, chakrata and many other villages and towns from the top.
Sunsets from here are way too beautiful

This temple is located high up on a mountain peak, not too far away from Kanatal in Uttarakhand. You would first need to drive down to a place called Kaddukhal and park your vehicle there, before you embark on the climb to the temple.
There are two ways in which you can reach the temple - either by using the ropeway (cable car) or trekking for a distance of around 2km up the steep mountain slope leading to the temple. Once you board the cable car (after waiting in the queue for half an hour or more, depending on the crowd), it takes only 5-10 minutes to reach the temple entrance. However, if you decide to trek instead, it will take you 30-60 minutes or more to get there, depending on your age, health and fitness levels. The ropeway ride is smooth and quick, and offers a spectacular aerial view of the mountains and valleys below.
Once you reach the temple, you will realize that the climb was well worth the effort. It is a beautiful sight in terms of its architecture and simplicity. It is also clean, well-maintained and has ample space in the courtyard surrounding it. The main shrine has a small, but beautiful idol of the Goddess and you will experience calm and peaceful vibes as you stand or sit there, in front of the garbha griha. In addition to the main deity, there are idols of Hanuman Ji, Bhairon Ji, Lord Shiva, Parvathi Ji and little Ganesh Ji as well, in the premises.
The courtyard of the temple offers breath taking views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. It tends to get a bit cold and windy out there because of the high altitude; so, do ensure that you wear something warm while you are up there.
While in the vicinity of Kanatal, Chamba or Dhanaulti, a trip to this temple is strongly recommended, for both, religious reasons as well as to get a beautiful view of the scenic surrounding region. Besides, if you are up for some adventure, you can also choose to trek all the way up to the temple and make the entire experience a well-rounded and satisfying one!

The Mansa Devi Temple is a beautiful and sacred Hindu pilgrimage site located on a hill in Haridwar, Uttarakhand.
To reach the temple, visitors can take a trolley ride from the base of the hill. The trolley service is operated by the temple management and is the most convenient way to reach the top.
The ticket price for the trolley is 130 rupees per person for a round trip (up and down). This is a reasonable price for the service provided, given the distance and elevation of the temple.
However, during peak season or on weekends, the wait time for the trolley can be quite long. In the case of the reviewer, they had to wait for around one hour for their turn to ride the trolley.
The trolley ride itself is an exciting experience, as it offers panoramic views of the city and the surrounding hills. The journey takes around 15-20 minutes, depending on the crowds and weather conditions.

It is a nice temple to visit which is situated at some height at the top of the hill. One can either use stairs or ropeway to reach the temple. Pilgrim needs to climb around 1000 staircases if it decides to go by foot. If someone doesn't have that much strength or is in a hurry ropeway service is useful and enjoyable too which helps you reach the temple within two minutes.

It's an important temple for Hindus and locals have a lot of faith in it. People go here to tie a red thread as a wish and once the wish comes true they go back and open the thread. There are three ways to reach it, one by steps (800+) and the other one by the trolley ride for those who can't climb and the third via a Trek. I would recommend the Trek. Its an easy one plus offers excellent views of the plains below. Also visit at the earliest possible hour to avoid crowds. It can be a very busy place.

When I visited, I noticed how much people believed in the power of this temple. The temple itself is very beautiful, with pretty designs on the walls. Inside, there's a statue of Goddess Mansa Devi, who is believed to grant people's wishes.
What makes this temple even more interesting is how you can get to it. There's a cable car system, like a small cabin that takes you up to the temple. This is great because it helps people of all ages visit the temple, and it gives you an amazing view of Haridwar and the river Ganges.
The place around the temple is kept clean and neat. They have stalls where you can buy religious things, sweets, and souvenirs. The people who work at the temple are very kind and helpful.
Visiting the Mansa Devi Temple was a wonderful experience. It's a mix of faith and modern convenience. I think it's a must-visit if you're looking for blessings and peace in the spiritual atmosphere of Haridwar.

You have to visit here through air trolley which is a fun perhaps dangerous. Sometimes a techical problem arises in middle of the ride. The view is amazing. There is a long que for return ride and the temple is heavily crowded. The management is good outside the temple. There is no security control for the inner crowd. Improvements are needed

It is a very famous Hindu Deity temple Mata Mansa at the peak top of Mount just above river Ganga in Haridwar.
Thousands of devotees come to visit this temple.. on the way up hill there are small and little shops where one can quench their thirst and rest.
There is also another way through trolley service. But the crowd is enormous.
The temple is beautiful in its own and gives utter happiness to the visitors.

Very peaceful and blissful experience. We went to Chandi devi first, that resulted in rush at Mansa Devi. It has a short trek and the way is very broad and less steep. The way towards cable car is very narrow and doesn't have any parking space. We have to park the car way below the starting point of ropeway

Maa Mansa Devi Mandir is located on a small hill top. The ropeway takes 3mins but its mostly crowded to get the tickets. There is a walkway just close to the ropeway ticket counter and it takes 30-45mins to reach the temple.
You can get a bird eye view of the city and the valley nearby. The temple is amazing from inside. It took 15mins for the darshan. Stay away from the shops on the way trying to upsell.

You have to walk in between the wholecrowd and u will be pushed automatically. Staff in temple is also rude sometimes.

It is located at much higher altitude. Rope way is really good and reliable. View from above is excellent. Neat and clean premises. Few shops and hotels are there at the top near temple. Few amusements are there while entering. Security check in is strict. Keep your entry passes handy while entering and during exit for both the temples.

Chandi Devi mandir is beautiful, you can get here by cable car (or you can say ropeway) which costs you around 200 rupees for 1 round trip. By entering the temple we can able to see the chandi Devi statue and on the left side of gallery there is a door by which we can get inside to pay our tribute. Lots of people come here per day and they tie holy chunri and wish for success and happiness.
After this you got to see stairs by which you get downstairs and here some other statues of God's are present with a number of shops like bangles, clothes, Jewellery, sweets, etc.
Beware of monkeys as they try to snatch the Prasad and other eatable items.
