Pub
Beer garden
The Fleur De Lys is a charming and traditional inn located in the picturesque village of Lowonsford. This rustic establishment boasts a peaceful canalside garden where guests can relax and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere. The inn itself is adorned with oak beams and features an inviting open fire. With over an acre of beautifully maintained gardens, which stretch alongside the canal, this pub is a must-visit destination.
This is an amazing place to come for business, a date or even with family. Private enough for a business luncheon. Public enough for a date. Good for mommy and daddy and the kids and the dog and the neighbour's cat. The waiters were polite and sadly there are no alternatives (for us who don't eat pork). So they can take out the bacon but won't replace with egg or mushrooms or beans. I found it sad for a 5 star place. Tip, get a starter. I know we all want to dive into the drinks and meal. Just a starter you can even share it and you will be proud of yourself for the rest of the year. At least you will have an out of home experience with a life time.

Quintessential English country pub on the Stratford Canal. Lovely setting and the pub has a great selection of pies!
Chris Kinnersley — Google review
Average pub with nice interiors and well located by the canal, perfect to enjoy the outdoors. They their pies are exceptional but they are ok. Prices are average like other pubs. Service is very pleasant. Servers are friendly. They also offer frozen pies to go if you really like them.

What a pie! This is what a pie should be - packed with utterly delicious flavours embraced in crisp pastry. 😋 Don't pass by this pub or choose anything other than a pie from their menu - you will be missing out! There are many pies to choose from too

Lovely large pub in a quiet village. Canal side. Good welcome lovely roaring fires plenty of room we had booked a table. Great service and food was excellent. Dog friendly
Andrew McCord — Google review
Good parts: the pies were absolutely delicious. The steak and Stilton had the most tender meat I’ve ever had in a pie and my friend had the chicken bacon and leek which she said was great. The pub side of the restaurant is so cosy however we were the other side in the restaurant which is a bit soulless- next to the swinging kitchen door. Service - quite bizarre I’m not sure our waitress is cut out for the hospitality life - forgot to put our order through so we waited an hour for our pies- no apologies, no offer of drinks/ a starter to compensate (I’ve worked in hospitality for years and that’s the bare basic!). In contrast the table next to us had 3 courses in the time we waited… Warm treacle tart was delicious- had with custard instead of ice cream. So would highly recommend for food but request a table in the pub side and service could be a lucky dip!

Delicious food and great service. There is are amazing. I had roast pork dinner on this visit which was delicious. Very reasonable price, good size, delicious portions. Nice setting in the countryside by the canal. Traditional English pub with open fires.

If you like canal walks 🚶‍♂️ and love country pubs then you must visit here. We had already booked a table at the Fleur de lys for 5.00 so parked up early afternoon and did an hours walk upto Junction 21 were the Stratford canal meets the Grand Union canal, here we had a pit stop at the Navigation Inn for a pint and a rest before heading on back to the de lys for evening dinner 🍽 or tea as we say up north. The outdoor space of the de lys is huge with a flagged seating area then a big tent 🎪 with a bar 🍸 then more tables leading down to the canal and a play area for the kids to play. We had a look at the menu while waiting because the kitchen staff have a break between 3 and 5 so we were ready to get seated inside before it got busy. Plenty to choose from on the menu and I chose one of the homemade pies 🥧 that they are renowned for, absolutely 💯 😋 lovely. The pub itself is very oldy worldy very well staffed good food and drinks 🍸 would recommend booking a table as it does get very busy.

This pub has a great atmosphere; it was cosy and inviting and full of people. When we arrived, the fire was lit and we were lucky enough to be sat right next to it. I went for the beef and stilton pie which comes with chips, some steamed veg and a big jug of gravy. All the pies are homemade, and at £15, very reasonably priced. The rest of the menu was extensive with plenty of other lighter options if you don't want to commit to a big old pie! My dog was right at home here too. It seems popular with dog walkers as there were quite a few other fluffy companions in the pub at the time. This is a great spot for wholesome, fairly priced food in a lovely setting.

A truly wonderful pub. Great atmosphere, wonderful choices of ales, and homemade pies that are out of this world. Found this whilst moving a boat and would certainly recommend a visit. If you're on a boat then there are good moorings and a great place to stop before, or after, Lapworth! You can even buy the pies frozen or chilled to take away. Staff were very pleasant and friendly and pub had a lovely atmosphere. I have recommended the steak and ale pie only because it was the only one I had - but all of the other ones sounded equally inviting.
Andy Hunter — Google review
Disappointing as we'd been there on numerous previous occasions and had always enjoyed the food and atmosphere. The menu sounds good but the food was not great; the vegetarian special was small and so microwaved that the tart's crust was chewy, the fish very small and we had to ask for the garlic bread which should have accompanied the linguine dish. Overall, rather average and judging by the lack of other diners on a Friday evening, it's been this way for a while. It's such a shame.
Mel Steer — Google review
Called in on recommendation of the marina we collected our narrow boat from, the pub was amazing! Although busy, staff were welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable, steak and stilton pie was incredible. A good range of beers to chose from, everything reasonably priced. Loved it so much we ate there again on our return journey, more pies were enjoyed, the following day we collect frozen pies to take home with us. Would highly recommend this charming country pub, with plenty of space inside and out, a great atmosphere, and really interesting history to the place.

Situated fabulously, can get busy. Hence service stars. Do try the sandwiches, very nice with an ale at the side of the canal. Little play area that we couldn't get the grandson off! Small footy area with goals. And spacious parking. Very nice. Remember to book, we just dropped in but still were sat and fed, after a time. Must go place.
Stewart Hale — Google review
Lovely atmosphere and location. The pies are great, I really enjoyed the veggie balti one. The chips are great too, but the veg today was quite disappointing - no one wants a plate full of cubed swede!

Such a cosy place. Food was excellent and service was great. Lovely setting and very cosy this time of year. Looking forward to visiting in the summer when outside will be warm. I had chciken risotto which was a delicious. Would reccomend this and was gluten free. Good gluten free menu.

First time visitors, the restaurant has a cottage style vibe, we went during the week and the staff had great knowledge of the wines and the dishes and provided a friendly atmosphere, definitely recommend the Crispy Duck Yolk and the Cherry Soufflé.

Incredible meal. We had the tasting menu and every dish was delicious. I love trying foods I wouldn't usually make myself and this was a really special treat. Service impeccable too, seamless topping up of water and perfect timing between dishes. Where is their Michelin star already?

Had a full course meal with my wife at lunchtime in May. Couldn’t have enjoyed it more, excellent service as well as excellent food. It’s a very pleasant experience from beginning to end, it’s a tight menu but everything on it is prepared to perfection. Excellent wine selection and can I say it again wonderful service.

Until recently, I had a dislike for Indian cuisine. However, my perception changed when I tried The Curry Republic. Their portion sizes are ideal and there are plenty of takeout options available in the UK, ensuring a positive experience. Personally, I enjoyed their chicken biryani as it was both satisfying and delicious. What impressed me even more was the owner's extensive knowledge about vegan dishes, making this restaurant an excellent choice for those following a plant-based diet.
Very impressed by the knowledge of the owner as to what I could have to eat being a vegan. so hats 🎩 off to you guys and would highly recommend this place

I visited this fine establishment on a cold November evening in Henley in Arden. We had a selection of starters, tarka dall and a freshly baked herbie naan bread all cooked by the Chef/owner Raj! I must say (chef myself) that the standard of food was very high. Spices just right and less food colouring. It was very appetising ... I cannot wait to return again!
Abdul Ullah — Google review
Great food. Really like the flavour of the food. They don’t add too many spices as other curry restaurants do.

Had a good night with very good food and good sized portions. The staff were friendly and very helpful. To get a table you do need to book.

Delicious, fresh, great quality, wonderful friendly staff and top tier service. I will 💯 return! Thank you.

Really lovely food, had egg salmon with aloo palak and chicken tikka balti ! Both were really flavourful and finally a curry house where everything isn’t so sweet, I find a lot of curry’s now are way too sweet and these weren’t which was great. Service was attentive and was nice to see a place so busy early midweek. Would definitely go again.
Kirsty Browne — Google review
Hair in food, customer service was atrocious! They tried to offer me a discount off my next order to begin with and then proceeded to haggle over what refund to give. The refund wasn't actually something I was bothered about, I'd have preferred an apology but they were more like, ah well it happens. More than half of the food we'd ordered hadn't been taken out of the containers and I was tempted to take it back down to them as I'd also lost my appetite and the guy on the phone had wound me up more. Used to be a once or twice a month customer but haven't used them since pubegate. I now use Naya and haven't looked back. Food is actually better and they offer a good discount for collection orders. Curry Republic seemed more concerned about retaining custom without cost hence them haggling over a discount rather than apologising and ultimately led to them loosing my custom. I did get a 50% refund but with less than 50% of the food being eaten I should have demanded a full refund but I couldn't be bothered with arguing or haggling with them. Highly recommended Naya, food is very, very good

I never used to like Indian food until recently. The portions are of a good size. Takeout places are a dime a dozen here in the UK so you probably won't have a bad experience. I liked the chicken biryani. It was filling and a good option.
William Wallace — Google review
Lovely staff, good service and good-ish food. Some items on the menu are nice but so so so so so much oil that quite a few items are not nice. If I can't get a table at Naya just up the road, I might eat here... But the oil content is really off putting. Some things on the menu just taste like Pataks curry paste, which whilst that's ok.. if I wanted a Pataks curry I would buy a jar from Tesco and make it myself.
I M — Google review
You know this is a good place when the takeaway kerala fish curry you order is cooked to perfection. Often the fish is completely overcooked but not at The Curry Republic! My favourite place for a curry in Henley and surroundings, it's always a treat to eat here!

The Bluebell is a stylish inn that takes inspiration from the art deco era, offering a sophisticated ambiance and contemporary British cuisine. Located in Henley-in-Arden, this establishment caters to both locals and tourists seeking an exquisite dining experience. Additionally, visitors can explore various accommodations in the area while enjoying the flexibility of refundable hotel bookings from as low as $48 per night.
Went to the Bluebell Inn on Saturday night with my daughter. It was our first visit. We had a really lovely evening. Food was exquisite, Everything is cooked to order so there is a nice gap between courses. We can thoroughly recommend the Middle Eastern chicken and Seafood Rissoto. We were met with a very warm and friendly greeting and atmosphere and a beautiful old building. Everything was perfect. Can't wait to visit again. Don't hesitate to eat there, you won't be disappointed.

This is the first time my husband and I had been to the restaurant. This was by chance, but what a great experience. We were warmly welcomed when we entered and sat at a table of our choosing. The service was very attentive but not intrusive. The owner introduced himself and explained all the details of the menu. We placed an order for a starter to share, and not long later, our food arrived, with fresh home baked bread rolls to accompany the olives, olive oil and balsamic reduction. Our main course arrived, again in a very timely manner, piping hot. We both chose the champagne battered fish. The batter was delicate and crisp, the fish was pure white and flakey, and the portion size was perfect for us both. We were so pleased with the quality of the food, for the first time in a long time we shared one of the home made deserts and again not disappointed with any part of it. In summary, a real find which we would recommend to any one and we will now be a returning customer for years to come.

We love this place, Ayman and his team are fabulous, fantastic FRESH food and friendly service, we are so lucky it is on our doorstep. It makes it a pleasure to leave a review, if you haven't been, then go, the photos do not do the food justice, we hope to go much more often now lockdown is over.

We love coming back to the bluebell time and time again! Ayman and the team are so hospitable and go over and beyond whenever we visit. The food is amazing - everything is cooked to order and there are daily changing specials. Lots of vegetarian options, and the sticky toffee pudding is the best I’ve ever had! Keep doing what you’re doing team bluebell!!

We booked this place after reading a couple of trip advisor reviews and were absolutely delighted with the service, food and welcome. Probably somewhere around £45 each for 3 courses with service and wine on top I think is a very good price for what I can only describe as 6 plates of very good food. We will happily grace these doors again. Seafood risotto was outstanding in particular and the fish cake starter also gets an honourable mention.
Frank Shields — Google review
What a wonderful meal from the bluebell. Came along with some friends and have been very impressed with how tasty every course was. Will definitely visit again

Only went in as we were passing having been to something nearby. Food was fantastic and reasonably priced for such quality for a family of four. Freshly made desserts were out of this world. Felt full at the end of the meal but not bloated just extremely satisfied, content and happy. Will definitely come back again

A really lovely restaurant! We were warmly welcomed by the host. The bay window seat was very nice. The food was very good indeed- we had a selection of starters, mains and desserts and they were all absolutely delicious. Oh and there’s also a big car park at the back which is very convenient. Would highly recommend!
Georgina Breeze — Google review
This is our second time eating at the Bluebell. We were fussy eaters, but Ayman happily suggested perfect tweaks to the menu to suit us. The North African chicken with saffron rice was tasty and not too spicy, the two guests eating seafood risotto didn't speak until they had finished, as their food was so deliciousl. Save space for the black cherry pancake and the limoncello cheescake.
Jeanette Percival — Google review
Awesome experience. Family meal for 6 adults, and every plate in every course delighted. You can tell when the owner takes pride in their restaurant, and it shines through. Seafood risotto was a major hit, The choice on the menu had some British (champagne battered fish and chips and lamb rump were stars) as well as Italian and middle east influences. What a great find, wholeheartedly recommended, 5*.

This independent restaurant excels in every way. The food is of a high quality, fresh and cooked to perfection. Portion sizes are decent. The service is friendly and attentive without being intrusive. A group of six of us thoroughly enjoyed every morsel of our three course meal. Clean plates all round! The Steaks are far superior to those offered by a well known chain. Special thanks to the Manager Hyman, who looked after us very well.We will be back!

Absolute hidden gem ! We were keen to the bluebell as it recently had a new owner. We were not disappointed in the slightest. The waitress was so friendly and smiley!! And the owner was very friendly and passionate about his food and this gave us a lot of confidence I the upcoming food. Everything was cooked from scratch and full of flavour , I'd go back in a heart beat. It may be a little pricey for some people but in our eyes it was worth every penny. This is a really nice place to go for date night!
Eddie Wilson — Google review
Lovely town with nearly all period properties & The Blue Bell is no exception. It looks like it's dated back to 1700s The owner came & served us & he was quite a character . He added to the atmosphere joking with us all through the meal. He told us he hand selects chooses all the ingredients & everything made from scratch. Character building with modern toilet facilities. Food was nicely presented with fancy plates/ dishes. There was a varied menu of different types of food from around the world. Prices were more expensive than average to reflect quality of produce & everything being made fresh to order. A lovely pub with a difference.
Georgina Wilkinson — Google review
This is by far the best place to eat in Henley in Arden (obviously our opinion of course)! The host and staff are well trained and absolutely fabulous with customers (attentive but not intrusive). The menu has something for everyone but is classy and always fresh! The people (customers) were all lovely and made for a decent atmosphere. Highly recommended in Henley (and we've eaten in all of them).

Naya Restaurant, located in Henley, is a highly regarded Indian eatery that consistently provides top-notch service and delectable cuisine. The staff is known for their politeness and attentiveness, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. The availability of Cobra on draft adds to the overall appeal. Although not a local curry house, Naya impresses with its excellent ambiance and reasonable prices. Customers who have visited from afar have praised the cordiality and helpfulness of the staff.
Good ambiance, excellent service, excellent food, good prices. Do not live nearby, but have used it on a couple of occasions. Will be going there again soon. The staff were all cordial people and very helpful.

What a great restaurant. Food was lovely. Staff were attentive and professional, especially the young man, who looked after us, sadly, i didn't ask his name. He was really helpful, knowledgeable of the menu and ingredients. He also had a great sense of humour. Brilliant night out in Henley-in-Arden, topped off with a great dining experience with friends. Many Thanks. Totally recommend Naya 5 Stars

Incredibly disappointing i travelled 30 minutes to try this place and it was awful. A plate of tomato puree with meat in it, shocking. However the staff didnt charge me for the main after my complaint so that was a bit of a positive.

Fantastic food, lovely spices and flavours... perfectly cooked and presented. The staff are very friendly and helpful... the chef described how to cook spices without scorching them which I really appreciated. Relaxed and comfortable atmosphere... spotlessly clean and nicely decorated. Highly recommended!

I dined in The Naya last night with my friend. Our food was outstanding done to perfection. Chicken Dansak Madras hot bioled rice with a garlic Nann asked for extra coriander, nothing was to much trouble. I had ordered a takeaway for hubby so not to leave him out. His takeaway was ready for me as soon I was leaving. Hubby remarked saying that was the best chicken tika massage he had for a long time. He had egg fried rice and always has a well done Nann bread. Once again done to perfection. Highly recommend this restaurant. Thank you Naya and staff. Great place to relax and eat 👍
