Ireland Chauffeur Travel offers a unique way to explore the Emerald Isle, with a visit to Cashel being a must on the itinerary. The Rock of Cashel stands as a spectacular historic site in County Tipperary, offering breathtaking views and rich history. The group of travelers had an enjoyable experience with their chauffeur, Andy, who not only provided seamless transportation but also offered great recommendations for restaurants and pubs. Golf enthusiasts in the group found outstanding and challenging courses to enjoy during their trip.
Fantastic time in Ireland thanks to the amazing folks at Ireland Chauffeur Travel. We booked a spur of the moment trip to Ireland and had no idea of what to do and only had a couple weeks to plan….one email to Ireland Chauffeur Travel and we had a full itinerary. We booked the tour and and super happy we did. Everything was amazing from start to finish….airport pickup, hotels, driving and sights, tours and the drop off back at the airport a week later. My advice, follow the 5 Star reviews and book your experience now. You will be happy did!

Andy was the definition of a gentleman! Top class. Equally as knowledgeable of Ireland’s rich history as he was the winding roads. He was also so kind to us while some of us worked through our “car sickness”. Michelle was also super responsive and helpful with the planning! 10/10 would recommend this service.

While planning a family trip for 11, I went through a rigorous search for a company to provide transportation/guide services for 8 days out of our 13 day Ireland trip. I couldn't he'd been more pleased with the overall service, from the planning of the trip w/ Michelle, to the actual experience w/ our driver Frank. I had already planned most of our accommodations & had a tentative itinerary planned & booked. We began with 3 days in Dublin and didn't use them for this part of the trip! For the remainder of the trip, I simply wanted transportation w/a driver/guide who could be sure to enhance our trip w/ local knowledge, suggestions of sites, & overall guidance and direction, packaged with a comfortable vehicle for the group. WE DEFINITELY GOT THAT with Ireland Chauffeur Travel and Frank. We were provided a Posh Mercedes sprinter van w/ enough seats for 12. The rear seats had tables. There were plugs, A mini- drawer fridge, it was great! The cost was definitely worth it and honestly, I felt like it was pretty reasonable. I do believe we saved quite a bit of money since we booked our own accommodations and tours but if you are one who doesn't know where to start or have the time to do all the research, they know exactly what they are doing will try to work within your budget. From the flexibility of schedule that he worked with, the waters and refreshments that they provided to helping us secure an additional driver on a late evening out to a medieval Dinner at a Castle outside of Galway (where our 8 hour time limit would be expiring... more on that later) ... to when I forgot my phone on the van and Frank had to bring it back to me the following morning and was extremely willing and accommodating to help ( and this was a free day so it was out of Franks way to come back to Galway but he gladly bought it :).... and Having done a trip like this previously but without a driver or guide ( we self drove with a group of 14 for over 2 weeks), this was definitely the way to go! We were thrilled with the flexibility, especially since I had already planned an itinerary and they were able to work with me to fine tune it and to get in most of everything that we wanted. A TRUE WIN and amazing vacation for us all! The only thing we missed was due to weather... And Frank went above and beyond to try to move things around so that we could get another shot at it! :) The only suggestion that I have for improvement... Or perhaps something that just could be clarified prior to the trip is that limitations on drivers hours is not just limited to our tour time.... I was advised ahead of time that drivers are restricted from driving any more than 8 hours a day. I was aware of that, however there were a few occasions where we had to end earlier that I expected because that time includes any time that the driver needs to return to his/her final destination. We really only ran into this issue a couple times, but there were days I expected to get another hour in to make a specific stop but because the driver had an hour drive after our day ended then we had to end our day an hour earlier. This was somewhat disappointing especially, since on one of those days it was our last day and I wanted to make that one additional stop. So when planning your days you definitely want to work with the guides/planners to accommodate for this. Since their office is in Cashel, if you are ending your day in Dublin and they have to return to the office following your drop off, then you have to accommodate for that time in YOUR day of adventure. Really, it ended up working out but definitely could mess with a schedule if you want to get a Very FULL day of sites in... Just communicate w/ the team prior about what you want to do so it's all planned! Also, there was an AC issue near the end but at no fault of Frank. He worked to get it fixed the best he could and you rarely need AC there! :) When I visit again, and i definitely will be back... I WILL NO DOUBT be calling Ireland Chauffeur travel & FRANK! We had a the trip of a lifetime & it was amazing.

We really had wonderful time touring Ireland with Christopher as our Guide/Driver. Bela had limited mobility due to an accident that happened just few days before we started our tour. But Chris made it so easy for us to visit most important sights and he helped and scheduled all the activities and drives so that Bela can manage without much problems. Chris really went way beyond his normal duties to accommodate our needs and made sure that we enjoy our planned itinerary. It was one of the best trips we had taken in which our guide/driver made a huge difference in making our trip memorable one. We both are vegetarian and Chris made sure to locate restaurants with multiple choices for vegetarian options. Thank you Sarah, Thank you Chris for taking care of all the little details that normally make a wonderful trip. We will definitely recommend your company, you and Chris as Driver/Guide to our friends and family.

This was our first time visiting Ireland and definitely won't be our last! When my boyfriend and I first started planning our trip, we didn't know where to begin. We found Ireland Chauffeur Travel and immediately was put in touch with Sam who was very helpful, informative, and quick to respond throughout the entire process. When we met our driver, Mike S. - we had no idea what to expect and truly couldn't have asked for someone more kind and knowledgeable! Mike took us to some of the popular places in Southern Ireland but also brought us to his favorite hidden spots which we would have never found on our own. As this was our first time with a driver guide, we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Not only are you able to spend your time soaking in all the sites, but you are learning so much more than if you were to just explore the country on your own. We would definitely use Ireland Chauffeur Travel for future trips and would highly recommend them to others. I can assure you, it will be well worth your time!

We loved our experience with Ireland Chauffeur Travel! Our group of 10 long time college friends enjoyed 5 days touring Ireland in comfort and with much appreciated peace of mind - without having to navigate the roads on our own. Our driver guide - Martin was wonderful. He anticipated our every need, and truly made our trip special. We could tell from the first moment that he wanted us to experience Ireland from the perspective of a native, and not a tourist. His recommendations were spot on, and he proudly shared Irish history with us throughout the trip. He went above and beyond for us, each and every day - to ensure we had a good experience, and we all did. Our expectations were exceeded, and we came away with wonderful memories, and a deeper understanding of Irish history. Michelle was also very nice to work with as we adjusted our itinerary a couple times. She was very accommodating and understanding throughout the planning process. Overall, we would highly recommend Ireland Chauffeur Travel to other visitors and would say this was one of the best decisions we made in planning our Ireland visit! David and Beth Rice July 2019

There was 12 of us in our group. My 5 sons, 1 wife, fiancé, 2 girlfriends, sister and brother in law. Some of us wanted to golf (the courses were outstanding, challenging and gorgeous). Sarah inherited our group from a previous employee. She was very easy to work with and set up everything perfectly. We had one small glitch and it was taken care of immediately and easily. Our driver, Andy was so nice. He suggested some great restaurants and pubs. We had a fantastic time!

May 2022. Hands down the best trip I’ve ever been on! My dad has dreamed of visiting Ireland and I was luckily enough to join him on the adventure! Ireland Chauffeur Travel made our trip effortless and exciting! Michelle put together the perfect itinerary and always responded promptly to my emails. Our driver Ken was the best part of the trip. By the end of our 5 day tour (Dublin, Cork, Killarney (2x), Galway), it felt like Ken was apart of the family! He’s kind, knowledgeable and professional. He knew the best way to eat, drink and explore Ireland. Don’t think twice about using this company!

Our family visited Ireland in November and wanted to visit various areas around the country. We also brought little ones requiring car seats. Not only did Ireland Chauffeur Travel help us plan an unforgettable and comfortable couple of days driving tour, our driver guide Kieran E. was absolutely wonderful! He was knowledgeable, flexible, very friendly and an excellent driver. We highly recommend coordinating with this firm for your visit!

We spent 2 weeks in Ireland, flying into Dublin then heading south and west until Galway. We had never been to Ireland before and needed guidance on where to go. I can say Sam from ICT did a tremendous job planning an outstanding trip for us making sure we could take in as much as possible in 2 weeks. We discussed what we were most interested in and he tailored a great trip for us. The accommodations he chose for us were all 1st class as well. Our driver was Martin. He was an excellent guide (and I think we made a life long friend). While we had plans each day, several times we changed them as we found new and interesting places to see or things to do. Martin was extremely accommodating and also gave us great recommendations including places to eat , shop, visit and see. There were a few hiccups along the way, but Sam was responsive and immediately took care of the few issues during our trip. We highly recommend Ireland Chauffer Travel and will definitely use them again.

Our family of 4 (two young teens) booked a week with Ireland Chauffer travel March if 2023 - our experience was absolutely fantastic! Our Itinerary spanned from Galway to Northern Ireland and in between. We were paired with and amazing driver guide, Bob. Lifelong Irish and retired Guarda, Bob was so wonderful to spend time with. Fun, professional, great recommendations all around. Bob and Ireland Chauffer Travel were the absolute highlight of our trip. They are willing to work with your itinerary or plan one for you. Just let them know what interests you and they can make many suggestions. Every recommendation was spot on. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful vacation the first week of September. We cannot say enough about our tour company, Ireland Chauffeur Travel! Our 10 day trip was seamless. Sarah Last was our Tour Consultant and she thought of everything. I left an item in Ireland and she worked hard, even after we returned to the states, to make sure it got to me ahead of schedule. Bob Noonan was our Tour Guide and he was absolutely the best! As the week went on and he got to know us a little better, he changed some of the sites we were supposed to see, to sites he thought we may enjoy more. He did a great job! If you are in the planning stages, you can't go wrong with Ireland Chauffeur Travel!

Sarah was wonderful coordinating our itinerary. She was so kind and patient with all my emails and phone calls. We had never been to Ireland and didn't know where to start. We wanted to see as much as we could in the time we had. Sarah gave us an itinerary that did just that. Tom, our driver, was very professional. Our vehicle was always very clean. We enjoyed his knowledge of the area and history of the country. He would drive through towns explaining some of the history and walk us though others pointing out things to do and recommended places to eat. He was very charming and witty and we enjoyed his company very much! This trip was three years in the making. It was a surprise to my husband for his 60th birthday and Ireland Chauffeur Travels helped make it a trip of a lifetime that we loved and will always remember!

The museum depicts various periods in Irish history and is home to artefacts from events such as the 1916 Easter Rising, The Great Irish Famine, and the Irish Civil War. The Folk Village was closed but the owner was friendly and suggested some good alternatives. He said the roof of one of the buildings was buy l being repaired and they would be open in about 10 days. I'm giving him 5 stars for his advice of things to do nearby.

A must see!! A wonderful museum at an incredibly reasonable price that gives a fascinating in depth history of Cashel and Ireland. It contains hundreds of original artifacts, including bog butter (you can learn what that is if you go). Overall an 11/10 experience— go if you can!

Quite literally the most interesting tour we had after 5 days in Ireland! The owner was so incredibly knowledgeable, and I learned things that put my own heritage into perspective once I got home. Thank you so much for the best tour in Ireland!!

This museum is a must see if you are in the area. Bernard has a fantastic wealth of knowledge and a love for the items he has collected and saved. The section on the Easter Rising and War of Independence is particularly interesting. Also, you get to handle bog butter!

It was a really informative and eye-opening experience! Would recommend to everyone who is passionate about history and would like to learn more about the Irish past. Our guide, who was the owner itself, is a really kind and knowledgeable gentleman who has a true passion for Irish history and who managed to build everything out of hard work and ambition! It is really impressive and definitely worth to pay a visit! Highly recommend!

Visited with family and friends on a Saturday afternoon. This was an excellent experience for the adults and children alike. Kids aged between 8 and 12. The tour was excellent and Bernard's enthusiasm and passion for Irish history shone through. He was eager to share Irish history and what he has learned from his research freely. Most importantly of all, not only did we all learn so much but this is a rare museum where you can touch the exhibits. From Bog Butter to the Penal Laws and Great Famine and on to the Easter Rising and War of Independence, everything is covered in detail. I couldn't recommend a visit enough if you have any interest in Irish history.

Absolutely fascinating! Bernard is a wealth of information, and his passion for Irish history and knowledge is incredible. I could’ve spent all day listening to him describe in detail events throughout Irish history and learn new interesting details about my beloved heritage. The amount of artifacts, weapons, tools etc. a very immersive display. Definitely a place to see, you’ll leave with either more pride in where you come from, or more respect and honour for the Irish!

This was an absolute gem of a find. We arrived in Cashel on a windy/rainy day only to find the rock was closed, but a visit to the folk museum made the entire trip completely worth it. We were given a guided tour around the place. This was done in an engaging manner with loads of interesting details that I honestly never would have known on my own. It's well worth going to. I think anyone could enjoy it. The owner even has written guides in French and Spanish (and possibly other languages) for those who don't speak English. If you want a truely immersive Irish experience, I highly recommend.

Absolutely fantastic visit to this place. A must see for anyone interested in irish history. An amazing amount of historical items for the war of independence and 1916 rising. The famine ect the irish elk skulls where amazing 8000+ years old. And the man running the museum was a pure irish gentleman with an amazing amount of knowledge. Thank you sir. Keep up the good work👍👍👍

This is an absolute little gem of a museum.Without doubt one of the best we have ever visited. Bernard is a most interesting and knowledgeable character and we could have spent the entire day listening and conversing with him. We spent two and a half hours in this most intriguing little place and will definitely return in the near future.... Well done Bernard for your total dedication to our past history and for making our trip to Cashel so very enjoyable indeed. Marcella and John. Wexford

Had a delightfully educational visit to the museum today. The owners passion for Ireland’s history and historical conservation shines through, creating a detailed and informing verbal guide and enlightening booklet guide. Would have loved to have spent even more time looking around and reading about everything :)

I really loved this compact but totally interesting museum. A warm welcome and wonderful chat plus information with the guy running the venue. Someone in our group was hard of hearing and in a wheelchair - a bit bumpy but really no problem getting around, seeing the exhibits and hearing any info. Thanks for a great visit!

Rock of Cashel

Mentioned on
Historical landmark
Sights & Landmarks
The Rock of Cashel, situated in County Tipperary, Ireland, is a visually stunning historical site. Built on a green hill with limestone outcrops and ancient fortifications, the area comprises a complete round tower, Gothic cathedral from the 13th century, Romanesque chapel from the 12th century adorned with old frescoes. The Rock served as the seat for Munster's Kings until it was turned over to the church after Norman invasion.
Great to be able to see this up close. We had an amazing sunny day which made the experience very pleasant. But probably on an overcast day or even a rainy one would make this experience creepier and still feel amazing. Recommend walking the grounds and even going to the abbey at the bottom of the hill where it was deserted and really cool to see too. That part is free if you just wish to go there.
Daniel Laprise — Google review
Phenomenal! It is one of the ruins that we enjoyed most! It is on a hill and the parking is at the foot of the hill. A short wait for the tickets (€8) and you are in! I would recommend the tour as the guide walks you through and tells the story of this grand structure. The old wall scripts are protected but visible to the public. It is amazing how much is preserved for us to see and enjoy. Definitely take your time and walk around. There is another ruin down the hill which is also amazing to visit. You can take the short cut through the grass field or you can take the paved walk around the Cashel grounds. Recommend both! Great site!
Dessie Hristov — Google review
Interesting place to stop by. The real attraction isn't the ruins but the sweeping vistas all around. It did rain while we were there, but waiting it out proved to be a huge boon as the skies cleared up for magnificent photo taking opportunities.

A must see for one and all - The Rock Of Cashel is truly a site to see and experience. The tour is excellent. The staff are so passionate and helpful. The chapel tour is also a must see. So much history and lots to learn. The views from the castle grounds are amazing you can see for miles. The grounds are truly beautiful and worth a walk around after and a stroll into Cashel town.
Megan Hanley — Google review
I had a fabulous visit here last year June 2023. The only down fall was the walk up a steep hill to get there. So a warning to all not in good shape or if you have mobility issues. The views were spectacular and worth the heart attack walk lol. I loved all the history and just knowing I was standing in a place so ancient was very special for me! If you visit Ireland this is a must see destination!!
Erin Mc — Google review
It was a cool place to visit though we did not do any guided tours so we only spent about an hour exploring here. The Rock of Cashel itself, while impressive, is not very big so you could easily see the sights with a quick stop!

This was an amazing place to visit when we were in Ireland. The views are spectacular and just thinking about the history was a little awe-inspiring. It was misty/rainy, but seemed to fit in with the mood of this architecture - fabulous!

What an incredible experience. Having to pay for entrance is welcomed as it ensures maintenance and cleaning is top class. An incredible experience which can take the imagination straight to life in centuries past. Incredibly scenic surrounds frame the pictures beautifully. P.S. Student discount available with provision of a Student ID

Went in late September, it was beautiful and very fascinating. Chapel tour was the highlight, it’s very ornate inside and has a rich history. Favorite castle in Ireland because of its historical significance and impressive architecture.
Jonathan Campos — Google review
A perfect halfway point between Dublin and Blarney Castle. Easily could spend an hour walking around the property and taking in all the views. They have a guided tour option if you have a little more time but you can very easily walk around yourself if you’re limited on time.
Lisa Vaccaro — Google review
Beautiful attraction with fantastic views inside and out. The structure itself is massive and with the various outer buildings and boundary walls it is very imposing. Take your time and soak in the history. Not expensive and well worth a visit. Town surrounded it has also got some very interesting buildings and some great pubs and restaurants to fill the gap of the walk on the Rock.
kieran Kenneally — Google review
Very cool place to visit. The castle itself is very old and crumbling so you’re more seeing the outside stone structure but it’s very cool to see. Great for photos. There are some exhibits in the building inside. If you want to go into the chapel, you’ll have to go with a guided tour - you can’t buy those tickets only but they’re 3€ additional at the door
Dana Szabo — Google review
Stopped on the way to Cork. Parking is €4.50 per day on site but there is a slight hike up to the location. Managed by OPW so there's an entrance fee or free with the heritage card. There is a multimedia show at certain times, I did not find it educational for the the visit. The place is small and can be covered in half an hour. Don't get me wrong, it does offer good photo ops.
Nee Shen Ho — Google review
It is situated on the top of the hill with nice views all around. Pity only ruins are left and the state never rebuilds the castle. However it's a part of history. You can get tickets at the door. The toilet is closer to a car park so a bit of walking. The nearest shop (souvenir) is small and poorly enough
Alex U. — Google review
So glad this is part of the OPW pass! Great venue with loads of history. Be prepared for a walk up and down hill. Plenty of parking, cost is reasonable. The walk down to town was a joy.

One of the oldest places with full of history, with ancient remains still standing tall. A place with amazing architecture. It’s a must-see if you’re into history or just want to enjoy some beautiful scenery. You have an option of joining the guided tour or explore on your own.

A wonderful stop and if the weather is beautiful it’s a great photo stop! History is amazing and well worth the trip. Your does not take as long as other cathedrals as it is ruins.

After having lived near it for so long, was only after I immigrated and returned for a holiday when I visited it for the first time with my partner, and was both intrigued and proud hearing the detailed history from the lovely tour guide Patrick. He had a wealth of information and patiently answered all our questions, even offering to take photos of us. Can't recommend it enough, for both locals and tourists.
Brian Croke — Google review
This was a fun stop and I think it would have been way better if we had had time to explore the heritage trail and town. We arrived later than expected and were the last people admitted. They were super kind and didn’t charge us because we only had about 20 minutes in the castle.
Allyson Gilbert — Google review
This is a must see location when in Ireland. The place is full of history and very famous. Try to avoid the bus tours flooding the place in the morning. Enjoy the majestic ruins, the Celtic Crosses of the graveyard and the view from the hill where it is built.

Outstanding remains of medieval buildings and cathedral. Do get a picture from the road as you approach the town of Cashel. In town, easiest way up is by the Bishop’s Path for an easier climb. The structures are beautiful. And the views of the surrounding countryside are splendid from this vantage point. Make the Rock of Cashel a stop on your way across Ireland.

🏰⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Rock of Cashel is an absolute marvel, steeped in history and majesty. The towering medieval structures against the backdrop of the Irish countryside create an awe-inspiring view. The guided tours are incredibly informative, delving into the rich tales and legends that echo through these ancient ruins. While it can get quite busy, the site's grandeur and historical significance make it an absolute must-visit. An enchanting journey into Ireland's past!

The Rock of Cashel must’ve been the inspiration for the Monty python scene in “Monty Python and the Holy Grail.” The history that happened in the rock a casual, and the architecture from the different centuries of construction is absolutely amazing. The view from the top of the hill looking out over the Irish countryside into the surrounding villages is also breathtaking.

Impressive fortress and amazing views onto the Irish countryside. You can feel the importance of that location, and almost feel the presence of the people who used to live and died there over the centuries as you walk past their final resting place in such a beautiful location, set atop of a large granite outcrop among the rolling hills of Ireland.

Wonderful historical site. Definitely a must see if you’re in the region. Recommend taking the guided tour to get a better experience and understanding of the history behind the buildings.

The view from mountain top is amazing. The place is amazing as well, takes you back hundreds of yrs. There is a audio-visual room where a very informative documentary was shown about the history of the place. There is a walking trail nearby that goes through another old place. Absolutely loved the trip.

I absolutely loved it! We drove almost 2 hours, but it was definitely worth it. The view is amazing, and the buildings themselves are also something special. We would highly recommend the guided tour which also takes you to Cormac’s chapel, this was a must! And we would also recommend to take the short walk to Hore Abbey, as this is just as stunning and you get a great view of the Rock of Cashel.

An amazing piece of history! Although my drone footage was cut short, we had a great visit! Definitely do a tour if you want more access to Cormacs Chapel, amazing stories there! This place was visited by St Patrick, hence its referenced as his rock! Note: Under EU aviation laws, state monuments do not hold ownership of restrictions over the airspace, as long as the pilot is NOT standing on monuments land. To the lecture received, best learn aviation laws. Also drones below 250g do not require licenses. She was a nice lady, so I didnt want to create a scene or a bad day for her 😜

Absolutely worth the drive and time to see this amazing landmark. From the moment you make the turn and the castle comes into view, you realize that you are in for a treat. $20 Euros for a family entrance fee is economical too.

I feel cheated. This is not worth €5 to expose yourself to toxic mold in a theatre that they say is new exhibition. The cheek of them to say that when the footage is from the 2000s. Then you have the daft video with horns blaring so loud it wrecks your ears. There is like ten artifacts in the entire route which would take literally one minute to walk. Oh and great help for people with disabilities, the lift doesn't even work. No way down to the main building unless you take steps so it is not wheel chair accessible anyway. The toilets are down a bunch of steps too. How can somewhere not be wheel chair accessible? This was an absolute joke and I am actually angry. I paid €10 for the pleasure of taking my husband into a toxic mouldy underground pit. I had to work an hour of my job at min wage to afford to have the piss taken out of me. It should be free or only a euro. It's ridiculous and a scam.

We came here for their evening music and dance performance. The music and dancers were great and afterwards they had an informal, interactive session where you got to see everyone in a more casual environment where they shared some scones and tea with us (alcoholic drinks were also available for a reasonable cost), taught us an easy dance and both the performers and the guests could sing, play music, and share in the evening's entertainment. Super fun and would highly recommend it!

We visited this heritage centre just after visiting the nearby landmark medieval Rock of Cashel. It's an excellent venue for dining and Irish heritage entertainment. After browsing through the craft shop we had a light lunch here which was just perfect. Great food and great hospitality by a very friendly wait staff and thank you for accommodating my special dietary needs.

You can't miss visiting Brú Ború when passing by Cashel. Brú Ború is right at the foot of the Rock of Cashel (entrance through the Rock of Cashel carpark!) Get a free entrance to the Rock of Cashel when you spend €15 in their craft shop/cafe!

Restaurant
Mikey Ryan's Bar & Kitchen is a charming Irish gastropub located near the Rock of Cashel, housed in a historic 19th century terrace building. The restaurant prides itself on sourcing high-quality ingredients from artisan producers to create seasonal dishes. Visitors have described it as a hidden gem with top-notch food and a casual yet refined ambiance. The staff is known for their exceptional service, offering helpful suggestions and accommodating guests even without reservations.
We arrived without a reservation but we got a table for 4 without having to wait. We had the best food we’ve had for ages. Moroccan spiced chicken supreme was delicious and my husband had steak cooked to perfection. The kids had no complaints as the food was good from the kids menu too. Lemon posset for dessert rounded off an excellent meal. Well done to the staff who obviously take great pride in their work. I highly recommend this restaurant. We’ll be back!

Went there for the first time with my wife. Great ambience with relaxed professional staff that are smartly dressed in a casual manner. Starter of duck confit and salmon was very tasty. The Hake was good and beef was tender. Good portions and well prepared. Tasty too. A great interlude for St Patrick Day.

Lunchtime. Arrived on spec and despite the place being busy, we were seated in what surprisingly was a very large, bright and comfortable dining area at the rere of the pub. Menu was varied and well priced. Service was attentive, informative and helpful. Food was delicious in ample portions. All in all, well worth a detour off the main Dublin to Cork road. Will be back.

Hidden gem in a quaint town. Food was top-notch quality that stood out among average dinners. Casual, yet refined place which looked straight out of a magazine! Staff was incredibly helpful, and professional 5 star service. They were very accommodating offering suggestions of where else to go but ultimately fitting us in late after a cancelation (we didn't have a reservation, if you are going- make one or you may not get so lucky). Be sure to explore the secret garden area before you leave. The glass room out back is a dream for private events. Hope to return soon!

Nice restaurant, part of the five stars hotel over there. We had Pan fried hake & burger. Unfortunately the burger was fully cooked, it’s a rule here. I didn’t enjoy it much because of this. The potatoes were so crispy!!! The Hake was excellent cooked and the pees pure was great! Highly recommended plate. As dessert we choose baked custard & strawberry tart which was nice, the ice cream was totally indifferent. If you are not a hotel customer you cannot seat outside unfortunately. There is some discrimination about it. Staff is very friendly and helpful. We paid around 30€ per person.

My girlfriend and I ate in Mikey Ryan's on Sunday and I have to say it was exceptional, from the first moment to the last. The décor and service was excellent but more importantly the food was the star of the show. We had a black pudding croquette salad and scallops to start. Both were superb but for me the scallops were absolutely outstanding. I can honestly say I have never eaten scallops as good due to both how well cooked they were and the fantastic nduja based sauce which accompanied them. We both had pork belly for our main course which was absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked and accompanied by a beautiful variation on potato gratin. For dessert we also both had the same dish which was a coffee cream pavlova. Outstanding once again. Rich and flavorsome and a coffee lovers dream. We could not have been happier with our meal. Excellent food in generous portions and very good value. What more could one possibly want. We will definitely be returning before long.

This is a smart casual eatery based in the old pub. The focus here is food but you can stop for decent coffee and even a pint, but it's no longer really a pub. I've eaten here a number of times and the staff are friendly and professional, the setting is good, with considerable investment to make it feel of high quality. The food is the high point, be it a roast, fish, the veg or the desserts. Everything has layers of flavour and beautifully produced. If you're staying at the CP it's a good alternative to try to the Buttery. There's a great fire in the bar and the racing is always on if you want to spend a but of time here. I highly recommend it but do try and book in advance to avoid disappointment.

This will always be at the top of my list for the Best Restaurant in Tipp. The food was an absolute treat to the taste buds. The interiors, the staff, the service - everything was just perfect. A place that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a good meal in Tipperary. Whoever said we don't have any good restaurants in the area.

What a lovely culinary journey we had last night. Everything was simply perfect. The staff so friendly, food delicious, served in time in the stunning setting of an old church. It was not cheap but certainly worth every cent. We will come back soon again.

We had a great meal here on a recent visit to Cashel. The restaurant has been runninng since 1968 and family run. Great food and great service. From the start having an apertif in the bar, and then being seated in the main dining room, it was a great experience.
Andrew Kinnear — Google review
I really wanted to love my experience here since I had heard so many positive word of mouth reviews, but unfortunately I didn't enjoy my evening. Pros: - The gentleman who greeted us at the bar was outstanding; he was very welcoming and an excellent host. - The Guinness was fantastic. - The ambiance of the restaurant itself was just beautiful. Cons: - They seemed to have one - maybe 2 - waiters working (alongside several others who merely bring out orders). This made it really difficult to grab our waiters attention and after trying several times I had to go out to the bar area myself to ask for another round of drinks for the table. (We were not asked or checked on once during our meal if we would like more drinks). Our waiter took our orders, briefly came back once mains were served to check the food was okay (which was right after I had gone out to the bar area myself) but apart from that he didn't come to our table any other time. Had it come back, we may have ordered sides. We didn't feel 'taken care of' at all. Even when the servers brought food to the table they disappeared just as quickly making it difficult to ask them for drinks/sides. - The food was such a let down to me. While the presentation of each plate couldn't be faulted, the actual quality was extremely lacking. I had the beef and at that price point it was incredibly underwhelming - I even left some on my plate. It was cooked just how I asked, but it just wasn't a good cut of beef; I'd go so far as to say it was one of the worst I've had? Honestly, the food quality at the Horse and Jockey a few KMs down the motorway was better (and that's a very different, very casual, lower budget option to Chez Hans - they're not exactly comparable, but the quality differences are vast). Maybe I have higher standards/expectations personally? I don't know, but at these prices I expected a hell of a lot more. I was really disappointed in my evening here and it saddens me to say that I won't be coming back. (On the two stars I gave, one was for the host in the bar, and the other was for the Guinness)

Gorgeous experience from start to finish. The food, the ambience and the staff are first class. The most delicious meal I've ever eaten. I had the Goats cheese and beetroot to start, Dover sole with lobster for main and to finish the sticky toffee pudding! Looking forward to a return visit in the future.

O'Neills Bistro is a must-visit dining spot in County Tipperary, offering an amazing culinary experience. The early bird dinner was a delightful treat, with the goat cheese starter and perfectly cooked beef receiving high praise. The decadent and delicious meal was complemented by excellent service and a comfortable vibe. The Black Angus Fillet of Beef and Pan-Fried Hake were standout dishes that captivated diners with their flavors and textures.

The best meal I have ever had! Beyond Ah-mazing! The whole meal was decadent and delicious 😋. Our service was excellent, the vibe was very comfortable and the Sticky Toffee Pudding will be the best thing you have ever tasted! I had the tofu and goat cheese balls. My brother had the scallops and cod. He said both were beyond words. If you are anywhere near county Tipperary, you must try O'Neil Bistro. You will not be disappointed, unless you forget to order the sticky toffee pudding 😉

I was starving after a busy day driving and missing lunch so I dived in here for an early bird dinner. I am so glad I did because it was an amazing meal! The goats cheese starter was a party in my mouth, with so many flavours complimenting each other perfectly. Then the beef (feathered I think it was) was cooked so wonderfully it just fell apart when I put my fork in it. I will admit I was so full by the time dessert came but the sticky toffee pudding was so delicious that I couldn't leave any of it. The staff were all super friendly and on the ball. Absolutely delightful meal, thank you! Ps. Not the greatest of photos, I didn't get the lighting very good and I was too keen to get started!

Cosy restaurant with heavily food-filled plates. We went for one of the hamburgers the lovely waitress recommended us, and liked it. The interior is really nice, our table was near the window so we got a good view out into the street... Somehow I really liked the loos, which I thought had a rather creepy atmosphere :)

John J. Feehan is a family-owned pub located near the Rock of Cashel, in business for almost a century. Lovely chicken salad, very nice mushroom soup! The place looked great as well and the location was nice. They took a bit long to take our order, but after they did, they were swift and nice. The menu had a lot of interesting dishes. I would totally recommend it to have lunch or dinner at Cashel.
