Trim Castle, located in Ireland, is a well-preserved medieval fortress and the largest Anglo-Norman fortification in the country. Originally founded by Hugh de Lacy in 1173, it was destroyed by Ruaidri Ua Conchobair within a year but was later rebuilt around 1200 with little modification since then. The castle served as a shooting location for the movie 'Braveheart' and has interpretation panels on its grounds.
The castle is beautiful and free to walk around the ruins. There are guided tours as well to the inside of the castle. There are no rooms inside but the guide tells you interesting historical facts about life in the castle, famous residents in the town and about battles, etc. The tour goes up to the bastion where you can enjoy the sight. It is interesting and funny. Trim itself is a lovely little town with friendly people and nice cafés and restaurants.

Unfortunately, we missed the chance to do a tour of the keep as the next was scheduled several hours after we arrived at the site. Nevertheless, we thoroughly enjoyed our walk around the grounds and there are several informative plaques near each structure detailing the early medieval history. The sunlight being diffused by cloud over made the fall colors and green grass more vibrant than ever! Gorgeous views!

On Saturday, we toured a splendid Castle that has been meticulously preserved without any embellishments. The castle is set amidst delightful surroundings, offering pleasant strolls around its premises and along the picturesque river Boyne. Entry to the grounds is free, while a €5 fee provides access to a 45-minute guided tour of the castle's interior. We opted for the guided tour, which proved highly informative and comes highly recommended. Our guide, Margaret, possessed extensive knowledge and skillfully painted a vivid picture of life in and around the castle. Any notions of romantic Anglo-Norman knights, enchanting maidens, and idyllic peasants were quickly dispelled. Margaret made sure to engage both children and adults in the group. However, it's worth noting that the interior of the castle can be challenging for those with limited mobility due to numerous winding staircases intentionally designed to restrict access. The castle grounds are dotted with informative notice boards providing insights into the castle complex and surrounding structures. This visit is definitely worthwhile, especially for history enthusiasts, but be sure to allocate ample time for your exploration.

Absolutely beautiful castle. The guided tour is definitely worth it and the views from the top are spectacular. Highly recommend.

A significant and massive piece of Irish History well worth the visit. A guided tour with the very knowledgeable and witty guide Brenda were very well spent 5 euro. Trim itself is a very charming place and its several church ruins are also worth the walk all the way to the eastern side of the town.

Great piece of history, super windy, beautiful early medieval ruins, more then one to see. Don't bring strollers and make sure your children are ready to go up many narrow stairs. Guide was excellent and some beautiful drawn cards and poster to sell of the Castle's early glory. Wonderful city with plenty to do and lots of commerce.

My favorite castle in Ireland!! Our first stop and a fantastic place to visit. Easy access and parking, lots of little cafes nearby, and beautiful grounds. Its well maintained and has amazing employees working here! Its free to see the grounds but i recommend taking the tour inside, especially on a windy day.
Awesome memories here, i cant wait to return one day. Thank you!!

At one time in history Trim Castle was the largest fortification in Ireland. Buy tickets to see the Keep with a guided tour, we missed out as they were sold out for the 4:45 tour. The grounds are free to visit and there are informational signs. Easy parking nearby and within walking distance of shops.

We arrived right at 10 o'clock, but had to wait for the 10:45 tour, as a private group had the first slot. The tour was informative and the guide was funny. Don't forget to buy your Heritage Pass if this is your first stop! I forgot and the lady was kind enough to refund my tickets and then do the pass.

Simply incredible. By far the largest castle in Ireland, with very well preserved ruins of massive walls and main tower. The location by the river ford is also quite impressive - and you get a perfect view at the Medieval monastery ruins as well.
Admission at the grounds is free, you only pay 5 EUR for a guided tour around the tower.

This was an amazing experience! We went on a group tour of Trim Castle, and learned so much about it's history. It was fun walking up ancient stone staircases to the top of the castle and looking out over the countryside. You can see everything from up there, the river, both moats, and part of the city. We went on a Wednesday in March, and it wasn't busy at all. We walked up to the gate and got tickets for the next available tour.

Very interesting place to visit! The access to the castle is very easy. You can have a walk around the premises outside. You need a ticket if only you want to get into the castle building. Next to the castle there is a parking. Don’t miss to have a walk around the village and have a nice meal at the local restaurants.
N P — Google review
Well worth a visit, you can only visit the tower with a tour guide so be sure to buy a ticket at the gate (5€/ adult) it’s definitely worth it. The tour guide (Susan) was super knowledgeable, friendly and pretty funny as well. Visitor Safety and comfort was emphasised which made for a very inclusive tour. Visiting the grounds is free. You’d need about 1 hour for the guided tour and -/+ 20 minutes for the grounds. Parking is limited but you can park for free in the street on Sundays or max 2 hours on Saturday during the day.

If you are looking for a place to visit and learn a little more about our history ,then Trim castle is a fantastic way to do it .You can walk the grounds for free or take the castle tour (€5 for adults under 13s are free !!! ).Fantastic value and the guide we had kept everyone informed but more so entertained .
I will say though ,the climb up and down the spiral stairs was a bit nerve wracking but worth it for the view !!!
I do think there should be a tip jar for the guides though , fantastic knowledge and funny also .Check the times for the tour so you don’t time it wrong and end up waiting … it’s only half an hour but it’s Ireland …. You don’t want to to be standing in the rain ….

One of the best places to know more about the history of Ireland and Anglo Norman era. Guided tour available at the castle, which was absolutely brilliant as she talked each and everything about the history of the castle. You have to take tickets costs €5 for adults to enter inside the castle but walking around is free. Pay and display is also available at €2 for 2 hours which is lovely.

Lovely grounds! Information all around.
Little parking and it's paid parking.
Lovely walk along the river outside the castle grounds.
Free entry to the grounds and paid entry to go into the castle.

BEAUTIFUL. Great to even walk around without paying for a tour of the inside. Gorgeous views from both inside and outside the walls.

Beautiful and historical castle which is well worth a visit. The castle is in the town. The grounds are free to visit but if you wish to in the tower, there is a regular tour which is only 5 Euro.
Derek — Google review
The castle has an area of 30,000 m², it opened in 1174. Hugh de Lacy and his son Walter built the castle over a period of 30 years. The central fortification is a three-storey keep that's 20-sided and cruciform in shape. The keep was protected by a ditch, curtain wall, and water-filled moat.
Access for those with disabilities is restricted due to the narrow, steep staircases throughout the castle.
There is no parking on site, but there's on-street parking in the nearby town of Trim.

Emerald Park in Ashbourne is the largest amusement park in Ireland, offering a wide range of attractions for visitors of all ages. From thrilling roller coasters to a zoo with interactive petting areas, there's something for everyone. The park also features historical sites such as Kells and Mellifont Abbey, as well as the Battle of the Boyne Site.
The park ist perfect for families and compared to others not crowded. Prices are fairly low and the combination between fun rides and zoo is ideal. Especially the bird show with eagles, hawks and owls was great fun. We had an awesome day with 2 kids and will definitely come back. 6 stars if this would be possible 👍
Gernot Bartonek — Google review
Overall experience was nice, the amusement rides are exciting. It takes actually 2-3 whole days to explore everything that's in the park. Due to long waiting queues for each and every rides, a lot of time is wasted, hence you end-up skipping rides and shows , and not making use of the amount you pay for complete access. Kids play area and kids rides and sensory friendly play space are all great for the age groups.. It would be good if you make sure your toddler-school age kid is meeting the minimum height requirement before booking all access ticket for them. Because, height restrictions apply on the most exciting rides in the park, kids will be very disappointed, otherwise.
I don't know whether there is any seat limit for each day, but for sure , long waiting queues inside for each ride, didn't look like there is any calculation on head for booking..., which was absolutely exhausting..
They have animals and birds to watch too. But, not so many exciting ones.
There are adequate food courts, restrooms, nursing areas for mom's , wheelchair access toilets, waiting areas, etc.

Nice place to hang around with friends.
They have so many attractions there in which the Roller coaster being on top. The staffs are super friendly and very nice, especially when it comes with kiddos. They really enjoy helping people. The Zoo they have arranged there have good experienced people who can explain every details about the animals there. The guy explained about the tiger was very happy to share the information and he did it very well.
Overall, it's worth a visit.

While it is certainly not the cheapest form of fun, definitely one of the best places in Ireland and since years consistent.
Great day out for kids and plenty of good rides.
The raptor bird show is a must see, amazing.

Immaculate. Well organised and managed. Shame you can’t get a non ride pass though. Ended up spending €33 online to walk around it with the kids. Plenty of food pit stops, seats and toilet areas along the way. Great selection of amusements and rides for the very young to the adventurous. Had a petting zoo and we were able to get close to the lemurs which was a first anywhere! Brilliant. Huge parking area which is also well managed. Last trip here when it has been run by Tayto 😞 Highly recommend the park. Tickets are cheaper online.

My one-day trip to Emerald Park in Dublin was an absolute blast! From thrilling rides to mouthwatering food, it was an unforgettable experience.
The highlight of Emerald Park was undoubtedly the rides. The park had a great variety of attractions suitable for all ages and preferences. Whether it was the adrenaline-pumping roller coasters or the classic Ferris wheel, there was something for everyone. The rides were well-maintained, and safety measures were strictly followed, ensuring a fun and secure experience.
Now let's talk about the food, starting with the twisted chips. They were a true delight! Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and perfectly seasoned, the twisted chips were a delicious treat that satisfied my snack cravings. They were a unique twist on traditional fries and definitely worth trying.
As for the ice cream, it was the perfect way to cool down on a sunny day. Emerald Park offered a wide range of flavors, from classic options like chocolate and strawberry to more adventurous ones like salted caramel or cookie dough. The ice cream was creamy, rich, and bursting with flavor. It was evident that they used high-quality ingredients to create their delectable treats.
Overall, my experience at Emerald Park was fantastic. The thrilling rides provided hours of entertainment, and the twisted chips and ice cream added a delicious touch to the day. If you're looking for a fun-filled day with exciting attractions and mouthwatering food, Emerald Park in Dublin is definitely the place to go!

The map of the park is so confusing, there are no numbers for the rides and overall the park organization could be much improved. The best thing was the Birds show, probably the most fun and interesting one we have ever saw!
Compared to other parks, we also appreciated the possibility for the kids to drive small cars in a “driving lesson” attraction and the fully equipped rock climbing attraction
Micol Santi — Google review
Good day out with children. Have done the bird show a few times now and it's always great. The biggest coaster is very fun and there is lots to do for smaller kids with the zoo, park and other smaller rides. Some negatives were the wait times for some of the kiddie coasters is very long for the fun you get out of it, the flight school line was pretty dirty and the drink refill machines didn't have a massive selection.
Thomas Armstrong — Google review
My family and I had a great day. The customer service is fantastic. Even if there is a storm the time we went and some of the rides are not available, we still had a great time. Food is always lovely at the lodge and the staff are really friendly and accomodating. There wasn't much queues due 2 the weather which works great for us not having to queue for a long time.
Claude Causapin Walsh — Google review
Always a great day out when the sun shines. Park is clean, plenty to do for 4-6 hours. Queue times can vary depending on the day visiting, but the most we queued was 15 minutes (wooden rollercoaster). Animal zone is always a great place to walk around, and grab a twisty potato crisp.
Andrew Callaghan — Google review
An amazing, fun filled, theme park, crammed full of literally dozens of exciting and entertaining things to do. Suitable for all ages from 3 to adult. Spotlessly clean indoors and outdoors, high quality food, exciting rides, stunning wildlife and an outdoor free flying raptor display that will have you absolutely blown away. Pack the car, grab the kids. Book your tickets online and go. Thank me later.

Emerald Park proved to be an exhilarating adventure from start to finish. With its diverse attractions, there's something for everyone. The thrilling rides, like the roller coasters were a hit with adrenaline junkies. For those seeking a more relaxed experience, the zoo area showcased an impressive collection of animals. The informative shows and interactive exhibits provided a great learning opportunity for visitors of all ages. The picturesque landscapes and well-maintained grounds added to the overall ambiance. Food options were plenty, offering a variety of choices to suit different tastes. The staff's friendly demeanor and efficient organization enhanced the enjoyment of the visit. While peak times could get a bit crowded, the park's overall layout ensured that lines were manageable. Emerald Park undoubtedly stands as a must-visit destination, promising a day of excitement, entertainment, and fond memories.

No queues, great atmosphere!! Plenty of things to do and see for all ages, lots of amusements and games to play!! There’s a playground for mini people who might be a little too short for some of the rides!! Loads of places to eat and drink!! Highly recommend!! Oh and there’s a zoo!! Staff are super friendly and helpful and if the rides are 100% safe as there’s maintenance people constantly around the park observing rides.

We had a really great experience. No waiting time to enter or any rides.
Junior section is cool with many different rides for the kids. Lots of playground.
We didn't have the opportunity to enjoy the pet farm as it started dashing
Restaurant is nice and price really friendly. Staff very nice.

So I did have a detailed 2 star review of Tayto Park here based on my experience from 2022 and 2021. I commented on how rough Cu Chulainn is, how the park badly needed the new rides, how there was no music in most areas of the park, how Viking Voyage was very run down, how some staff were just uninterested and looked untrained. I was back today at Emerald Park with the European Coaster Club to experience Tir na nOg and all it has to offer and I was so impressed. OK, so Cu Chulainn is rougher than ever and I see the (in my opinion) awful Power Surge is still there but there are so many improvements to be thrilled about. Tir na nOg is stunning, the Vekomas are the perfect coasters for the park, ops were good even considering all the delays with TV crews and interviews etc, there was themed music playing at lots of locations, there is some great new merchandise (though some ladies fitted t-shirts would be a nice addition) and staff were polite, friendly and efficient. I do think there is a lot of empty space around Endeavour so hopefully the park has plans to fill this up a little while overhauling those flat rides and retracking Cu Chulainn. All in good time, I'm sure. Emerald Park is on the up which is so exciting to see. It is now firmly on the world stage for coaster enthusiasts.
Audrey Mealiff — Google review
Good amusement park for the island of ireland. Ticket price is high considering the waiting time. The best ride is clearly the wooden roller coaster, where as the other ones are not as exciting really. Never the less, emerald park/tattoo park is a fantastic day out for families and can cater for any age group. If you buy ticket in advance, you can avail 20% discount so make sure you take the saving option.

Overall, it was really fun.
It was €39 per person. You do have full access to all the shows and attractions. Make sure to book online as it's €47 if you pay on the day.
We had food at the park and it was very good we had pizza, chicken Goujons and chips. Good value.
I love the roller-coaster. it's definitely my favorite!! The viking ride with the water word of warning ⚠️ u will get drenched!! I definitely wasn't expecting it.
Also, go as early as u can and stay till closing. Get the full day out of it 🎢🎡

What an amazing place to visit, the park is great to get around, and loads to do with children of all ages plus the big child in us adults that love a thrilling ride, the lodge cafe is a great place to eat the food is great and not expensive although you do get a fantastic portion for your money, highly recommend. Overall the staff no matter what part of the park u are in should it be the restaurant, the marshalls at the rides,or even any of the many kisoks are super friendly and helpful,we come over from Lisburn in n.ireland and it takes us roughly 60/90 mins travel each way but it's definitely worth the effort,we will be back again for our 5th time hopefully in the summer. Brú na Bóinne, located in the Boyne Valley of Ireland, is a well-known prehistoric site featuring 3 neolithic passage tombs and 90 additional monuments. The burial mounds, including Newgrange, Knowth and Dowth, are around 5,000 years old and have been fully excavated for visitors to explore. Newgrange stands out with its carved granite boulders and white quartz face.
Great tour. The docents were knowledgeable and very engaging and know the history well. Knowth was an exceptional experience. Visitor Centre really well done, efficient, clean and memorable. Tour very good value for money to see such extraordinarily special place.

Enjoy my visit to this location. Had my 10000 steps done early every morning. Two most beautiful walks on the grounds. This was a gift given to my wife and I by our family. It is expensive but well worth it for a very special occasion. All the staff were brilliant and friendly.

Amazing experience where you can see and touch stone markings made by someone over 5000 years ago. The tour guides are very nice. You get an explanation and a tour inside the tomb (you can't take pictures inside) and then you can explore the outside on your own.

Fantastic archeological site! This is an UNESCO heritage site and the guides were awesome. The inside of Newgrange was amazing and the only other place, I've been, like it were the Great Pyramids of Giza. A major difference here is its much older than the pyramids dating back to the neolithic era. Adults and children all learned a bit and enjoyed. The carvings are impressive and it was impressive how old they are.

Part of a bigger tour amazing. You get to go inside a 5 thousand year old megalith. Need to book 8 weeks in advance. Well worth every pence(cent). The accompanying tour guides were both engaging and knowledgeable. 3 hour tour two sites class.

Lovely to be able to walk in and see the craftsmanship on the interior. I’m sure it’s spectacular to see on the winter solstice. But they do a mock up of that for you with the lights off and then the sun rising. They give you a lot of history so there’s really no time to look around on the outside. The buses are very timely.

Highly recommend scheduling your trip in advance, but so worth it. We started at Knowth, and our guide was knowledgeable, funny and overall excellent. I believe his name was Kiernan (he just found out he is from royalty). It is incredibly scenic and fascinating. There looks to be a lunar calendar etched in to the stone, from 5000+ years ago. Newgrange is incredible. Will say- if you are claustrophobic, or are on the bigger side (i am 6’3, 250) be prepared to be scraping along the walls as you go to the chamber. They simulate what happens on the winter solstice. It is awe inspiring. Throw in the river Boyne and the story of Finn McCool…and all the sheep- one of the best days ever, not just of the trip.

Great example of a mostly complete neolithic site dating from at least 3500 BC. Our tour guide at the site, Aegnus, was amazing. You could really tell he genuinely loved the material and was excited to present it.
Additionally, the visitors center was excellent. The material presented in the exhibition was very much a information gathering before the trip to the site. The way they displayed the info was just right - not too technical nor too simple.
Pat Zalesky — Google review
Life-changing site to visit. I can't recommend the tour enough, very knowledgeable and approachable staff. The feeling at these sites was special. Not far from the busyness of Dublin, this was a paradise full of history, culture, and magic.
Carolyn Klassen — Google review
Very interesting historical tour of more than 7000 years in the past. Good price (€10 per adult) for the "sister" version of the larger Newgrange site. The exhibition was fun as it immerses you into the lifestyle and the foot path of the neolithic population. The guided tour lasted for 30 minutes with some archeological descriptions together with theoretical stories opening to your own interpretations. You can then walk the site at your own pace for about 15 minutes and watch a video.

A great experience even having caught the tail of hurricane Agnes. Not even 80 kph wind gusts and stinging rain stopped our guides who forged ahead anyway. One thing’s for sure—the Irish can weather a storm! The history, culture and the tombs themselves are amazing. Our guide, Lisa, was particularly good at sparking our imaginations and closing the time gap between us and our ancient ancestors. The center was very nice and a welcome respite from the weather. The best ham and cheese sandwiches I’ve ever eaten. Of course, Irish butter instead of mayonnaise! The Boyne Valley and River—scenic delights. Even caught a rainbow. Definitely, a must see experience.

Can I only give it 5 stars? Deserves more! This was the highlight of our trip to Ireland. If you're interested in this sort of thing then you've probably seen plenty of photos and documentaries about New Grange.
My visit exceeded expectations. To go inside was amazing 😍. Staff and guides were excellent at giving us all of the information we needed to interpret the site. I want to go again next time.

Amazing place, worth to visit. You are traveling from tourist center to Knoth and Newgrange by bus. In both places guides were great. Better reserve tickets earlier, I was alone and lucky that they had 1 place for me in the bus. Tours for every hour were fully booked that day and it was not even weekend.

Probably one of my highlights trip to Ireland so glad we made it here. Just a word of warning ⚠️ if you are using Google maps make sure you enter the visitor centre or you will end up in the wrong place. With roadworks etc we almost missed our tour

We went with a home-school group to visit this site. The tour guide was very knowledgeable. She lives in the area and has been doing the job for a long time. She told us of new information about the other cairns in the region as well. Overall, this trip is worth it just to see what they have uncovered. This tour is highly recommended!

Great experience, especially being able to go inside the monument. The guides are great and you can tell that they are very passionate about it. It's amazing how these structures are still there after 5000 years.
Book at least a month in advance. Tickets sell very fast. You go there from the visitor centre and a bus takes you there at the time you booked.
Barmouth Beach is a sandy beach located in the town of Barmouth, Wales. It's perfect for swimming and basking in the sun, and it's surrounded by charming shops and restaurants. Traeth Abermaw Beach is also great for walking at low tide, as it leads all the way to Harlech Beach.
Amazing beach. Clear waters ,soft sand, plenty if parking. Lacking in toilets. The scenery behind the beach with hills as a back drop was amazing. Loved the fact it was not overcrowded at all. Could do with a few more bins.
Would definitely go again.

A pretty clean beach. It has quiet good parking though get there early as does get busy. It has stones on the top part of the beach, the beautiful soft sand on the shoreline. There are the usual seaside shops with fish and chips. Plus a little train for a tour if your legs are hurting after the shopping. A lovely place to spend the day, weekend or even holiday. Just need the great British weather.

A lovely sandy beach with a nice little town with plenty of places to eat and shops to browse around this really is where the mountains meet the sea! Big spacious car park right on the beach front with plenty of spaces however I can imagine that this still gets very busy in the height of the summer.
My only negative to say would be the dog ban on the main area of the beach which takes the best central part of the beach away from dog owners in the summer. There are still dog friendly areas to the right and left of this central area which are still very nice but they can get overcrowded as the space is smaller than the central area.

A personal favourite - lovely long sandy beach for a nice walk, along a beautiful small town. Great fish and chips nearby as well as plenty of parking as long as you get there early enough. I usually set off from Birmingham around 7-8 am and get here in 2.5 hours.

Great beach nice wide and sandy ideal for kids but sea can soon change.
Dogs are forbidden during certain times.
We were there to see the lifeboat come out to be launched and coastguard helicopter land so plenty to see.

Beautiful beach no matter the weather, always picturesque. Great place to go for a walk, nice long walkable area. Good access with a massive car park directly opposite, loads of places to eat and drink close by.

Amazing beach. Areas for people with dogs and areas dog free. The town is lovely with plenty of shops, but it was the beach itself that is the best bit. Shallow and clean enough for hours of paddling with the kids. Will definitely be returning.

Pretty good beach. It wasn't too busy when we went on a Saturday in mid-May. Looked clean, and had pletty of parking and benches to make use of if you didn't want to go onto the sand. The opposite side does have a few eateries, with a few more located just away from the actual beach.

Lovely Welsh seaside resort, great for young and old alike. It has 2 main car parks fairly large. Highly recommended for holiday. B&Bs nearby. If you are coming for a day out, I recommend you leave quite early about a 2 -2 1/2 hour drive from West Midlands, depending on where you live. Car parks fill up very quickly on sunny days. Recommended you leave at 7:30am. or earlier if you want a good space. It is pay and display at a machine prices reasonable

We stopped here on a whim after travelling down from Porthmadog through to Aberystwyth. Amazing little place.
The beach is really nice, clean, tidy and great for hunting for stones as we did with my son. Tide was out and made a great little costal walk.
We then hit the amusements spending £40 In total across 3 hours. One of the best RTP I ever encountered in any amusements. 2000 tickets we managed to get Alot of things for my son as these were all reasonably priced.
Sizzlers grill I think it was called... amazing food beautiful donuts and so so reasonably priced. I had steak and chips,Mrs had a burger and chips and my son chicken nuggets and chips served in a bucket with a spade. All came with a drink and generous portions, cooked fresh. 4 donuts were our pudding and all for £23. Normally food is extortionate at seaside towns but this one wasn't.
Thoroughly enjoyed the day. Car parking was pay and display and I think we paid £4 for 3 hours. Plenty of spaces. Would definitely return!

Absolutely love everything about coming here., the drive in and out is so gorgeous. The scenery is spectacular.
I love the drive so much.. I went mid week and I had virtually an open road., I was so happy.. once you land in Barmouth there is a great little cafe that I forgot the name of but it’s opposite the sea view on a corner sell great soup! And the fish and chip shop oooh so good!
Beach is clean, sandy and great for everyone., a real easy day.. stunning scenery, easy parking. 5* road trip

One of the best beaches I've been onto in ages. Perfectly sandy, absolutely beautiful scenery, and nice and spacious for those busy times in the Summer. It takes about 3-5 minutes at least to walk from the promenade down to the water's edge over sand, but it's well worth it.

Wow - what a stunning beach!! Beautiful. Expect to pay £5.50 for a day's parking. There's not much in the town - a few seaside 'tat' shops, though some of the tea-rooms are worth a visit. Worth a visit for the beach if the weather is good, otherwise....

Portmeirion is a village situated in Gwynedd, North Wales, which was constructed by Sir Clough Williams-Ellis over a period of fifty years. The architecture and design are inspired by an Italian village and it is now owned by a charitable trust. The pastel-coloured houses, piazzas and floral displays of the charming seaside town draws many visitors. It also hosts various events such as festivals and gigs throughout the year.
Snowdon mountain offers spectacular views. It is mesmerising every time I visit.
Whatever Snowdon offers you is the best you can ever get. Be it trekking or mountain railway, you will be impressed.
Hari M — Google review
This is as far as the Snowdon Mountain Railway goes at the moment with the last 1/4 leg of the journey to the summit closed until further notice. If you buy the return ticket they only let you stay 30 mins here once you arrive otherwise they don't guarantee you a seat on the return trip which is inconvenient. Bearing this in mind, even with the cheaper £29 'early bird' tickets which we bought we thought it was expensive, they also charge you an extra 3.50 fee for booking online. Other than that I felt that the views from the station back down the mountain and towards Llanberis are only so so compared to the summit, which is an additional 1ish hour trek from this station, and so the 30 mins they give you isn't enough to trek up to the summit. Make sure you go to the toilet first before boarding the train as there are no toilets nor other facilities up here.If I were you though I'd wait for the railway to reopen all the way back to the summit before considering coming. See the photos I've posted to get an idea of the views from the station. If you really want to come make sure you come on a clear day otherwise it is a total waste of time and money and check the weather forecast before booking tickets online as there are no refunds.

This review is based on my personal experience on the day.
We booked the tickets for the 2nd of April 2024, early afternoon.
First thing I must say it's the car park, £12.50 for the day and the automatic machines don't work with Debit card or contact less. I used Ring Go.
Then we jumped on the train, seats were really wet and not heating .
When we reach the top of the mountain we couldn't see a thing due to the fog.
Soo we jumped backed on the train and waited half an hour for it's departures.
Basically for my family of 4 I spent £127 plus parking. For a trip on a cold diesel trian.
Soo for that day I had to give 2 stars .
Maybe if it was nice and clear it would have been a different experience.
Christian — Google review
The station is at 775m and at the time we went up the rails onwards to the top were being repaired. The train stops just above the Llanberis path and has great views. We were just below the cloud which was forecast in the Met Web page as being at 800m for most of the time we were there.
The train waits for the 30m stop so if the weather changes then you have some shelter.
Check the mountain forecast ahead so you know how to dress. It. An be cold there even on a sunny day.
Mark Amarasekara — Google review
Great views once you get higher up. The tickets were expensive though and it was a hot day and the interior of the train was clean but really hot (not much ventilation). It was a good experience though to see the views and easier than walking it!

Fabulous scenic ride up Snowdon shame it only goes three quarters of the way up at the moment. Very busy need to book several days before to have a good choice of journey times, we booked the day before and only 2 slots available mid afternoon.

Recently had the pleasure of visiting Mountain Station, and I must say it was an experience like no other. Situated in the majestic Snowdonia mountain range, this destination offers a combination of a great view, an exhilarating train journey, and easy travel arrangements.
First and foremost, the view from Mountain Station is absolutely awe-inspiring. As you ascend to the highest point, the panoramic vistas of Snowdonia unfold before your eyes. The rugged peaks, lush valleys, and serene lakes create a mesmerizing landscape that truly takes your breath away. Whether you're a nature enthusiast or simply someone who appreciates natural beauty, the view from Mountain Station is sure to leave a lasting impression.
The train journey to the summit is another highlight of the experience. The well-maintained train takes you on a scenic route through the mountains, offering glimpses of cascading waterfalls and picturesque villages nestled in the valleys below. The gentle chug of the train combined with the stunning surroundings creates a serene and enjoyable atmosphere, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the journey.
One aspect that makes Mountain Station particularly convenient is the ease of travel. The station is easily accessible, and the staff is friendly and helpful, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free experience. Pre-booking tickets is highly recommended, as it guarantees your spot and saves you from potential disappointment due to limited availability. The process is straightforward and can be done online, allowing you to plan your visit in advance and avoid any last-minute complications.

The scenery is absolutely stunning, even if the summit is closed (we only went to the 1st stop). Our Guard was great, full of information (who knew one of the original engines rolled off the track and fell into the valley below (in about 1893)).

Although I wasn't able able to get to the summit and the train was rather expensive costing £160 for a family of four it was well worth it for the view.
Zip World Penrhyn Quarry is a renowned adventure sports destination that takes advantage of the abandoned slate mines and quarries in Snowdonia National Park. This world-class attraction offers exhilarating activities such as zip lines, roller coasters, treetop nets, and underground trampolines. The treetop nets cater to young adventurers from 3 years old, while the more extreme rides are suitable for children aged 8 and above.
I wasn’t happy that it was going to take 2 hrs. But it made sense when we got there. They say to be half an hour before you book. We booked earlier in the morning as it was cheaper. You get fitted with the equipment and do a practice one. Then take a truck up the quarry to the big one. It was well worth the experience and price.
For next time I would have booked it as early as possible then you’ve got the rest of the day free. They said online you have to wear long sleeves and trousers but on the day (in August) no one said anything and loads of people were in t-shirts n shorts. There was one customer who had sandals but they got him to charge his shoes.
All the staff were very professional and friendly. At every step they explain you what’s going to happen next.

Wow! What an adrenaline rush! What a zip-line! It is a fantastic and exhilarating experience set in an amazing location. One word sums it up... Wow! OMG....A MUST for any adrenaline junkie like me and my partner! We paid £130 each, and this included a video at the end. We went on the not so high up zip wire first, which I thought was amazing, then we got on the red bus, which takes you to the top of the quarry.... it was incredibly windy, and we thought it would get cancelled, but nope.... the staff are amazing friendly and put you at ease. Absolutely fantastic! You can get a drink and something to eat before or after at the bar and watch others come down the zip wires. Or watch in the distance the go carts coming down FAST around the quarry. A brilliant day out and Absolutely well worth it! You have to be UNDER 20 STONE. They do weigh you ( with clothes on! Ha ) and supply you with all the gear you need. You can video yourself getting geared up but NOT COMING DOWN THE ZIP WIRE.

Great place for adults, teenagers and children. There's a smaller zip wire, a rollercoaster style zip wire, go karts and a couple of lying down zip wires - the latter of the 2 need to be used with an adult. My 2 16 year olds had a great time. The restaurant had a good choice of food and drinks including alcohol.

A fantastic experience! Even for observers and non participants there is plenty to do. The whole Velocity 2 experience takes about 90 minutes to 2 hours from start to finish, and you are well looked after by very confident and competent people. For those not participating, the viewing platform on the top floor gives you stunning views of the quarry and a great opportunity for photos of your loved ones and friends as they speed by overhead. The video footage option on offer is a great gimmick, and is emailed across almost immediately as a very smartly put together video available to view and download.

We had a fantastic time, it was raining hard but we still had loads of fun. We took 12 of us which we thought would be three x4 goes but they only ran in two’s rather than four people at a time. The youngest was a nine year old who loved it and the eldest were two seventy year olds.
I’d recommend taking waterproof clothing and something for the children to do while they wait for the big kids to have fun.
The food was ok, not amazing but it filled us all up.

Enjoyable, people working there very friendly. Good mix of people in my time slot, aged mid 20s to 70s. Mini zip was good, truck ride was very bumper, as they warned you it would be. Suggest you don't sit at the back like me! Zip was good, not as scary as I imagined. Real disappointment was paying for video. Not sure if it was angled correctly, as can only see my nose and eyebrows. No view, no face movement.

Fantastic experience, as a family we did Velocity 2 which included a smaller zip line, just as much fun as it's big brother!! (Be aware of the braking system on this one, it can be quite sharp on your back). After the first ride it's up to the top in an old army truck, bumpy but fun, with the tension building as you climb (approx 15mins). The safety checks and staff who carritthem.out were first class, everything gets checked twice and by different instructors, you will be in good, professional and caring staff (Thanks Kate and Tom). Have a great time

I’d like to start by saying that Velocity was incredible and I would 100% recommend giving it a go!
The 3 stars is for the organisation and chaos on the day. We had the aero explorer booked for 1:40 and Velocity for 3:40. We arrived just before 12 as we thought we’d grab a spot of lunch beforehand.
We started receiving numerous texts (rather than any announcement) to say that there was a weight limit now for aero explorer due to adverse winds, then another text to say Velocity was delayed by 20 minutes, then another to say aero explorer was cancelled for the day (still no refund of this 1 week on). Then we were told that Velocity was delayed by 2 hours and they had to cancel all trips between 12-2 (ours was unaffected) so we went for a drive and to find a fast charger for my EV which is not easy in Wales! Phoned them whilst charging to ask if it was still a delay and what time we should arrive, were told there was still an hour delay, however they then went to check this and we got told there was no delay, get here as soon as you can (we were an hour away at that point thanks to their earlier advice).
When we arrived, it was all good, no queues, staff were friendly and we got up relatively quickly and all had a good time.
We all paid for videos, however my daughters video somehow only starting recording after the zip wire, which was pretty pointless. Annoyingly we didn’t realise this until we got home that evening.
I fully appreciate that weather can cause disruptions but it was utter chaos and kind of ruined the day, despite Velocity being immense.

Zip World Llechwedd is a popular tourist attraction that offers a variety of exciting activities. Visitors can explore an ancient rock quarry through underground mine tours, workshops, and history exhibits. The site also features on-site dining options for guests to enjoy. For those seeking more adventurous experiences, Bounce Below offers huge trampolines and nets set in a former slate mine.
Loved it! We did the zip lines and underground golf. Would highly recommend it to anyone. The kids loved the golf in the cavern, especially the ides towards the end. It was a wet and rainy day for the zip line but we still thoroughly enjoyed it.

Fantastic weekend of events with the family. We enjoyed a few of the attractions and had a really great time. It's one of those tourist destinations which offers unique experiences which is what we try to look for. The use of the existing slate mines is incredible and you feel humbled by the surroundings. We took part in the Deep Mine Tour which I would strongly recommend as it gives you a full insight into the true world of what it was really like to work in a place like that, expanding your engagement with the other activities. All the staff were very friendly and helpful we didn't have one bad experience with any of them. The only down side to Zip World, unfortunately, is the price! It is quite steep. Hopefully the more popular it becomes and the higher the footfall maybe pricing can be adjusted and become more affordable. Maybe introduce package deals for multiple activities as well. And with the size of the location maybe open up more on site accommodation/camping maybe.

We took part in there brand new underground golf experience.
Where do I start. I would happily say it's the best adventure golf course I have played and I have played a fair few.
The fact you have to travel deep underground to start just gets the excitement going straight away.
Our group was mixed ages from 6 to 80. And each one of the group had a great time. The course itself has a mix of different difficulty holes to try out your skills on.
The only downside was the slide between levels was blocked off but I'm sure they had there reasons.
Would highly recommend to all.

Location of Underground Golf, and some of the zip wires. Brilliant experiences all around, as there is something for everyone. Golf had many fun aspects such as a slide in the middle, and of course the ride down the shaft to get to the caves. The reception staff were quick and helpful. The staff at the cave entrance were awesome, and even managed to get us at an earlier booking by 15 minutes so we didn't have to wait around.

We did the Deep Caverns tour.
Word of warning: You need to use stairs to go down the mine so if you have mobility issues think carefully about doing this. That said, the going isn't too bad and you get transport back to the surface.
Great tour that really gives a snapshot of life in times past. You also travel through several large caverns. There are also a couple of projected videos to watch and listen to. Very atmospheric.

Absolutely fantastic day out. I did caverning and zipline on the same day and because they were on the same site it's easy to move between activities. The staff were all friendly and helpful and me and my group had an absolute blast. Fantastic as a group activity or as a family activity.

We were in Wales for a weekend away with our two boys (10 & 6) and were able to book a couple of activities at the Llechwedd site the day before. We did the Big Red, which is a zip line for younger children or first timers, it was a nice start to the day, and at £10 was reasonably priced. We also booked the bounce below, which was absolutely fantastic. We took a quick trip into the caverns and were met with layers of bouncing fun set into the cavern. The session is for an hour and is brilliant. Parents be warned, it's harder than you think as it is more of a springy netting than a standard trampoline. Long sleeves and trousers are recommended, and I fully advise this as if you fall the material can be abrasive. You also need to wear trainers with good grip as the nets get slippy, these just want to be old shoes and clothes as you can get dirty/scuffed. The staff were brilliant and very helpful. We will definitely be returning to Zip World and completing more adventures.

Second time here in the caverns, they really are running a well oiled operation. Everyone is happy and enjoying work, good instructors and then you're left to it.
In the main cavern, it does get a bit hairy for some, the via ferrari sections are now more amenable but still slightly slippery.
Its very high in places, steep and tight in others.
The zip lines are worked out well, but if you have bulk, you will be smashing into 3 of the platforms hard.
Its fun, it's a little challenging in spots, not for those that scare easily or don't like heights.
Quite pricey to be fair, if its a treat then it's worth it.

Came for Bounce Below, our second visit.
It's unique and a lot of fun. The caves are lit with shifting and contrasting colours which highlight their features. Music is played throughout but at a volume where you can easily have a conversation.
It's popular for kids but we've been as an adult group and have seen others there as well so not exclusively for the young.
There's lots to explore and we've seen each area in the time we stayed, but on neither visit have I been able to stay on the nets for the full hour! It's a workout and my legs turn to jelly after a while.

We did the crazy golf in the caves in zip world and it wasn't bad. The crazy golf wasn't the most crazy course we've been to but it was pretty novel being down in the caves. Getting the helmets on and heading underground in the little train added to the novelty of the experience - good stuff.
It wasn't badly priced as we qualified for a locals discount (even though we're about an hour away - we must have the same post code) and the gift shop and refreshments didn't seem over priced which was nice.
The staff were nice throughout, from a very pleasant and helpful guy on the phone as we booked whilst on the way to the man who welcomed us and got us set up with helmets, intro talk, etc - all did their job very well.
The facilities were a little dated and worn and a few bits on the courses didn't work as you'd expect but it didn't ruin the experience. There were 18 holes with the golf, although not too much variation between them. Not bad for the price, but we were ready to finish by the time it was done.
Took us a little over an hour to get around - we weren't waiting for many holes and didn't hold anybody up. The kids used the toilets before we went down - well worth doing as there aren't any toilets down there (and no staff visible throughout the game to ask). Only caused a slight issue on the 17th hole as my youngest was getting slightly desperate for the loo and we had to wait for the train to come back down to collect us. We ended up waiting and me trying to distract her for just ten to fifteen minutes before we were able to head to the facilities.
We grabbed some lunch in the bike centre just around the corner before arriving as we got there 30 minutes early and the food was excellent. Cost about £35 for me and my two girls so not the cheapest but worth it - the food was lovely and there was plenty of it.
Overall worth a visit for the price, but not somewhere I'd probably go back to for a second go.

Great two days here doing the caverns day 1 and then underground golf day 2. Staff friendly and helpful.
Caverns is a fantastic experience though not if you don't like heights. The video camera for £8.50pp is also good value for money.
The golf, again is excellent. The course is themed and it's great to see some actual obstacles to overcome.

The Great Orme is a limestone peak in North Wales, and it's famous for its views. The walk around the peak is very popular, and it's also possible to take the cable car up to the summit. There are many shops, restaurants, and bars in Llandudno near the mountain peak.
Lovely walks, nice tram journey available and great views of the coastline.
Steven Dodd — Google review
We walked up to the orme going past the tramway station, quite a steep climb that way. Some great views on the way up. We didn't use the tram but a good way to get up there if you have mobility issues.
Some lovely views at the top there is a cafe at the top, insure of the menu or prices as we didn't use it. Several paths around the orme again the views are stunning.
We went to St. Tudno's Church lovely inside very peaceful. Definitely worth a visit. We walked back down a different path which started after we came out ofthe church yard it came past the ski centre and ended back in town I thought it was a better path not so steep.

Just amazing views all around and great hiking. We completed the ordnance survey route, just about three hours to complete with amazing scenery all around. Peaceful and quiet, very relaxing.

Great place for a walk, walked around it from the West shore where there are some great views to be had.
The heather was in full bloom when we visited - lovely.
Got stared at by a gang of Great Orme ram goats - I didn't stare back 😇.

Absolutely love this place! It was a bit difficult to walk till the top without the train and cable car but was a great experience. Really is a great spot for hiking in a sunny winter day.

Nice place to come and bring a picnic. Can get very busy when the weather is nice but it is well worth the steep trip to the top to observe the views across the town and out to sea. There are loads of things to do whilst up here, the mines and the old church are great to explore. A good place to bring the camera and take some pictures.

I visited hwylfa'r ceirw 2 rows of white stone for around 100yards towards the sea forming
An avenue/track way ...you only get to see them clearly in winter/early spring when the bracken is at its lowest. There are also 2 round houses at the start and to the left of the rows as your looking towards sea..and the questionably named roman well is close by ...diwrnod gwych....great day

Went back for a visit after 10 years, was a beautiful sunny day which made it better albeit very windy, stunning views all around, small cafe open next to the playground, parking was cash or card.

Took the tram up as it was a hot day, Excellent views as we went up, Decent cafe at top which gets busy, As for the views, Just stunning, we walked all around and came across the goat's and sheep, There is another cafe on the far side, which is handy on a hot day. A must visit when in Llandudno.

Wonderful scenery. You can drive or walk.
If driving, be aware of the sheep. Sometimes, they can appear where you expect the least.
If walking to the top, have in mind if the weather gets windy, cable cars might not be working for safety precious.

Definitely worth the worth visit and the views are brilliant.
There's a few ways to get up and down but be aware half way tickets cannot be purchased at the half way tram stop, only at the top or bottom.
Plenty of space and nice little shop at the top.
Would recommend.

Been a couple of times, and the drive up is amazing the scenery is beautiful, there's a church and cemetery half way up , loads of sheep and rabbits, it was a very windy day up at the very top, but lovely in the cafe, where you can buy sandwiches and lovely cakes, brilliant photo opportunities all around,

What a great place for amazing panoramic view. So much going on, tram on one side, cable car on another. Also possible to get up by car. Cafe and toilets available, nice to just relax and enjoy the view

Took the tram car up and the views was breath taking. Definitely worth a visit up. 2 Nice little cafés up there and mini golf a little park as well. Also a great souvenir shop.

Wish I could rate this place 10 stars! The toll is 4.5£ for a car in 2023 still very cheap considering free parking. The view from top is breathtaking. I never climbed that much height before but when reached there and saw the north side I was amazed. There is free parking, child play area, visitor toilet as well as cafe or eating place. You also can play mini golf, I can just seat and enjoy the green mountain top, blue sky and green/blue water views for hours. I recommend to go there on a sunny day for best views and also be careful to walk, its very windy. When you climb down and finish the full marine drive it will just gave wonderful memories.

Love this place. Can't visit Llandudno without a drive up the Orme. I've also been up there, in the past, using the tram, which is a great experience. Never used the cable cars though.
Cris Spen — Google review
Quite a nice place to visit. If you go on a nice day there are plenty of views to be had. A fun crazy golf course that opens after 11:00. The cafe if well priced and the cakes seem to be of ample portions. Go on a return journey by tram if that's your thing or drive to the top with stunning views. The only down side for me was the over priced car park at the top. Starts at £4.50.
Llandudno Pier, an elegant Victorian structure adorned with a variety of seaside novelties and food stalls, serves as the epitome of a quintessential British seaside resort. As Wales' largest holiday town, Llandudno offers traditional family vacations and unique romantic getaways. This picturesque destination boasts long beaches on both sides of its peninsula, complemented by a magnificent and enchanting promenade.
Amazing bit of Victorian engineering. Always a pleasure to see and stroll along, a real trip down memory lane visiting the pier. Beautiful at night with the sea front all lit up. A great place to grab a coffee and sit for a while.

Great pier. Really lively, lots of small shops selling the usual souvenirs and refreshments. Big wheel near the prom, punch and Judy and arcades. Lovely views out to sea and Llandudno seafront. We even saw jellyfish in the gorgeous clear water. Highly recommended!

The place is very lively and has a ton of things to do. From retro arcades to souvenirs, shopping, and tons of food options.
The sea view from here is pretty amazing. The water is turquoise blue, and just standing on the pier and taking in the atmosphere can be a very healing experience.
Highly recommend for a weekend visit here!

First time back in Llandudno for 2 years.
I was impressed with the investment, there were several positive changes to the town, the peer and the general area.
It was clean and we found lots to do.
The peer was bustling with life, 95% of the shops were trading and the arcades had been renovated with new machines and a modern card system.
Will definitely be back soon

Very bracing walk out to the end of this Victorian pier. All the usual amusements and hot, crunchy portion of chips to take back along the promenade. Wonderful.

This was near perfect. Llandudno is such a beautiful place that coupled with the right weather it will remain in your hearts forever. There are many good food spots on the pier . Particularly liked the fish and chips. It was not overcrowded, but there were enough tourists to make it a jolly affair. Walking up and down the pier through the wind has such a calming effect on us.

Lots of bits and bobs to do and look at. Bring money if you have kids because there are lots of rides!
Fresh Donuts are highly recommended!
The record shop had decent prices and there are a few arcades on the pier.
Please leave a donation for Punch and Judy, even if you don't get to see the show. It's such a great tradition!

What a great pier! It was honestly like stepping back in time with all the traditional rides for children and hook a duck etc.
Great for people watching too. There was a great character walking up and down with his two toy monkeys in a pram and music playing! It put a smile on my face. Great bar at the end of the pier and amusements too.

We had a wonderful time at the pier. It's a perfect place to enjoy beer and small snacks. We also had fun playing arcade games.
The arcade at the beginning has more games, while the one at the end is less crowded. It's a place where you can spot both children and adults having a great time. Additionally, there are other small rides available for kids.

Fantastic place of visit in North wales. No need to go down to the south of England for the beach gate away as this place’s scenery is incredible, calm, and relax. I wish I could have lived in this town for a long term. Will definitely come back to visit here on summertime. Also the town is loads of shops, restaurants, b&b, hotels.

Not many of these are left now so it's well worth a visit. There are lots of things going on even out of season and the views off the pier are amazing. It can get a bit manic in the height of summer so if you want to enjoy this little gem at a more chilled pace then it is worth coming during the winter months. As with most places like this you have to have realistic expectations, the pier is a little rundown but for me that just adds to the charm, prices in the shops are a little high but that is just a sign of the times and most of what they sell is the usual tat that you get at this sort of place but that's the point of Coming. Combined with a walk around the town centre this makes for a very pleasant day out.

A really lovely pier!! It has some great history behind it and you can see great care is taken of it!!
Incredible views from the pier back to the buildings along the cost!!
Amusements on the end are decent and the toilets were definitely recently renovated!!!!

Lovely old fashion pier which we enjoyed walking around. there was a lovely pub at the end and surprisingly in February everything was open, well almost everything. The arcades were old-fashioned too with penny slots and certainly gave off a nostalgic vibe. The views of the bay were great from the end of the pier too.

The pier let us view the stunning the scene of the ocean as well as the beach. The straight footpath on the pier with shops is very comfortable for pedestrians and dog walkers. What you should care is to select a day with nice weather.

Once parking was sorted at £3.50 for 4 hours it was time to explore. The shops on the pier were just starting to get ready for Easter. Flashing Lights arcades are mostly cashless, but still worth a visit. The drive east along the coastal road is very relaxing.

Piers are a great British institution, they would never be built in today’s modern world so we have to maintain, celebrate & enjoy these special places & Llandudno pier is no exception. A great pier - one of the best in the UK.
The wide-curving Promenade in Llandudno was built in the 1800s and is today a bustling space for all. It's an accessible space for walking through public paddling pool, sandy beach, grandiose Victorian buildings, to the stonier North Shore Beach.
Such a beautiful place fill with all the old Uk seaside attractions from everyone’s childhood. Great to see all the beautiful sea front buildings so well maintained. Great walk with stunning sights. So much to do and see here, some great views out to see and of the Great Orme and pier too.

I think this is one of the best proms in the country. It looks stunning from a distance and up close.
Only be a few of the hotels are a little past their best but the fully functional pier and punch and Judy show add a sprinkle of nostalgia of a bygone era.

This would have to be extremely popular in the height of Summer, a great area to explore located in a picturesque cove. Pretty much how I would envision any great European esplanade, loved the historical buildings lining the shores. Only downside is the lack of public toilets in this area, perhaps we just overlooked them.

Very good for walks with friends, family or date with your partner. Night walks are very pleasant after a hot day. It's illuminated, you have benches and the main street is few feet away. Restaurants and takeaways are in a few minutes walking distance. Runners will like it since the sea air cleans your lungs.

My wife and I strolled along the very wide and long promenade on a dry but windy and chilly day. Everything looks clean, litter free and graffiti free. Seating all along the rear of the promenade and new sheltered seating area being installed. We couldn't believe the number of wind turbines out in the sea. All the hotel fronts look well maintained. We walked out to the end of the pier and had hot refreshments in the ocean cafe.

Lovely walk. Different from one end to the other. Great place to people watch. Do not eat by the pier end. The seagulls are vicious.

Amazing promenade well worth a walk along it will take about 20 minutes or so to get from one end to the other. Great location to forget the world and blow the cobwebs away. There are plenty of eateries just off the front. A peer at one end with lots of amusements for young and old. There are even speed boat rides weather permitting.
It’s a definite recommendation from me.

It's a nice place to walk hand in hand, with your loved ones, It is nice until many more people get the same idea as you. Then it's crowded and you have to watch your surroundings so you don't bump into people around, rather than watching the view.
A free parking slot could be tricky to find, parking machines are available.
The mobile signal is very poor, (at least O2).
Plenty places to eat, public toilets are there as well, but queues 🤷♀️.

At almost 2 miles long it's impressively maintained and a lovely place to walk taking in the Ormes Bay / Llandudno Bay, especially at sunset in the summer. Annoyingly popular with cyclists, runners and dog walkers. Can be difficult to park.
The Pier at the west-end is a cool place to visit, as is 'The Great Orme' beyond that.
The grand, Victorian-style buildings remind you of days gone by where Llandudno was flourishing as a great tourist attraction. Today these buildings have been split into flats and mostly low-end hotels.

A beautiful picturesque spot to relax and unwind. We arrived just after sunset, however the view was still stunning and we could see lighting in the far away distance across the sea as the skies were clear.
The promenade is beautifully lit up as the evening approaches so visiting day or night is recommended.

Gloddaeth Cres, Llandudno, LL30 1AN, United Kingdom
The Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, designed by engineer Thomas Telford in the 19th century, is an impressive feat of engineering that spans across the Vale of Llangollen. This 18-arched stone and cast iron aqueduct carries canal boats over the River Dee and has been classified as the highest navigable aqueduct in the world at 38 meters high.
First visit to the aqueduct with my family, lovely to walk along the canal side and take in the stunning views. It really is quite breath taking when you stand next to the aqueduct at ground level, considering it's the tallest in the UK and took ten years to build. Quite a remarkable feat of engineering given the period it was constructed and the time it has been standing.
We took the narrow boat tour, the guide gave a lively, informative and engaging commentary during the 45 minute trip.
The location houses an on site gift shop, pub near by serving food and drinks, visitor centre, picnic areas, plus a tearoom located further along the bank. Plus several footpaths, ideal to explore the area further. One of which lead to Llangollen definitely one to explore during our next visit.
Nicola Whitley — Google review
Lovely Heritage site.
Little Shop and museum, boat trips
£3 all day car parking, main car park is short walking distance to aqueduct where you can walk alongside the canal but be mindful is it narrow pathway and can become tight when many people are visiting.
Wouldn't recommend the walk across bridge if you heights is a fear. However there is some great views going across
Holly Simms — Google review
What an amazing place to visit. Educational, spectacular views and an experience walking from one side to the other. Parking nearby, gift shop, boat hire and a museum where you can learn how the aqueduct was built. A pub with good food added into the mix.
Yvonne Burke — Google review
This amazing feat of Georgian engineering is definitely worth a visit, whether on foot or on a canal boat.
The aqueduct is an impressive 38 metres high, making it the tallest said structure in the world, and the views from the top over the beautiful Welsh landscape are truly stunning.
Do be advised that although there is a footpath on the aqueduct, it is quite narrow, and owing to the great height it is advisably not for those faint of heart.
Nevertheless, if you don't feel confident walking across the aqueduct you can always walk beneath it, or even view it from afar. If anything, I personally believe viewing it from a distance is the best way to experience it. The bridge is adjacent to a stunning park with dense woodland, hiking paths and a pleasant, tranquil atmosphere, especially in the warm summer months.
Overall I strongly recommend visiting, for its World Heritage Site status is truly well earned.

We only stopped for a very short time, just to see what our was like for a future visit! From what we could see, it looks great. Had a short walk in the Aqueduct to take a picture. There was lots of canoeing going on. We could see a pub, shop and there was a visitor centre. Everything was very clean. Lots of parking close by and only £3 for the whole day! Definitely looking forward to a longer visit with the whole family!

It's a world heritage site, so it's quite touristy. Unfortunately the aqueduct was closed, so we were unable to walk across. However, there is a nice walk along the river down to a country park. I think it would be a nice place to visit in the warmer weather.

Amazing experience to go over the Aquaduct in a narrow boat! Even better the weather was good too! Just as long as you're not scared of heights as there's nothing one side and a footpath and rail for walkers the other side. Fabulous views across the valley though.

A lovely place to stop off on our travels through North Wales. Car park is massive and easily accommodates everyone. There is a nice visitor centre and toilets only a short walk from the car park and aqueduct. Some nice picture opportunities and viewpoints on the visitor centre side by following the sighs to go down to the left of the aqueduct instead of straight across it. Enough space on the aqueduct to pass people but it can be tight. The gaps in the railings are a bit on the bigger side so keep small dogs and small kids close by.

Beautiful 😍 views on a lively sunny day, from looking off the Aqueduct and up at it. It is well signed in terms of finding the route to the aqueduct by road and on foot. Not much to say that hasn’t already been said but it’s an absolute must visit for anyone coming to Llangollen even if it’s just for an hour. A short walk from the long-stay car park down the river basin brings you to the aqueduct. It’s narrow but more than workable.
Thom James — Google review
Beautiful and very impressive. Lovely if not a little stomach churning walk across the aqueduct and then a gentle walk by the canal. You can also take to the steps and walk down to the valley floor and fully take in the vast scale of the structure. The walk along the river is fantastic, wild garlic is everywhere and the smell is amazing.
There are toilets and a visitor centre where you can buy hot and cold drinks, also a huge carpark which is £3.00 for the day.

It was a nice place to visit for an outing. Nice views. A good place to have a walk in nature. Must have boots or trekking shoes as the routes for walking are muddy and slippery throughout. Worth visiting.

Incredible feat of engineering! Considering it was built 230 odd years ago, virtually by hand! Beware ! If you're even a smidge scared of heights don't bother! There is a considerable drop. My wife had to turn back as she was petrified, worried also that our dog, Ned, would fall through the bars of the rails. Also be aware that if you're a big lad like me, the path across the aqueduct is narrow 🤣 and you virtually have to squeeze past one another! You won't spend a huge amount of time here, but it's well worth the visit.

Interesting place. Great time with family. For me, traveling on a cruise ship was an additional attraction, but I think a kayak would be more adventurous. I couldn't find the toilets, although they are there, I didn't see any signs.

Such a beautiful place to visit. There are narrow boats to have a go in taking you over the viaduct built by Thomas telford. He's the same person who built the worlds first famous Ironbridge. The nearby villages are lovely with the river dee running through the town. You also have the train station. You can do white water rafting nearby. We went into an amazing cafe serving hot or cold food. I went for the hot pork bap with stuffing /onion/and apple sauce. Amazing. I also took a steak pie and sausage roll. Also amazing tastes. This place was called chatting. 1st class with 5 stars food hygiene. Staff were very friendly and brought food to the table. Also really good for the disabled. I was offered a ramp to help me get in. In town the sign's for parking not clear at all. If your driving DOWN through town you can not see them so you end up driving all the way through town. Coming up through town they are as clear as day.

The British Ironwork Centre is a brilliant place that showcases items from suits of armour to animal sculptures and lamps. There is also a little play area for kids, and a cafe with nice food. The toilets are clean and there is water for dogs available. The sculpture park is just amazing.
When you arrive you go into the reception and you will need a parking pass and to pay entry into the exhibition. We brought my dog with us and was able to walk around the whole trail with him so we didn’t have to leave him at home.
The trail is full of different sculptures and some are for sale as well. Would definitely recommend if you are in the local area and support this business. Our favourite was the Manchester Bee Monument and what it represents.

TRIGGER WARNING:
THE KNIFE ANGEL.
I honestly do not know how this statue has not only been allowed to be made, but also paraded around the country.
It ABSOLUTELY GLORIFIES knife crime and does NOTHING to curb the curiosity of using them.
It is even BLOOD STAINED from various stabbings and proudly boasts the amount of "body liquid" that is still on it.
Why the hell it couldn't be melted down and something more significant made is beyond me.
Even it's face , if looked at closely, is NOT asking "why", like so many think. It's face is of ANGER.
It's hands are not outstretched as if to ask "why". They are waiting for an offering.
I strongly recommend people stay away from this.
Nothing against the sculptor. In itself it is, I guess, a work of art. However it's one step too far to be shown town to town thinking this is helping anything. It isn't. If anything it PROVOKES a reaction. And that reaction isn't always a good one.

An absolutely amazing place anc day out for families with kids of all ages (even 19 year old young men!!) - the minute you arrived you’re bowled over by the sculptures and it’s so much bigger (& better) than I expected. It is all outdoors and we did have a lovely day - lots of walking too but fabulous. Staff were lovely and there are sooo many places to sit. You can’t take picnics but that’s understandable to support them and cafes have lots of choice. We drive from bham and so worth it - the sculptures are amazing and split into really thoughtful areas. Very interesting

Even the eatery is decorated with sculptures and pieces of art. We were a family of four two adults and two teens, one wheelchair user with special needs. We all had a great time. You can see the love care and attention to detail that has gone in to this place. I couldn't rate this place more highly. Really worth a visit . Leave at least 3 to 4 hrs for your visit.

Sadly when we first tried to visit this location it was too busy to accept new visitors but we decided to try again as it came highly recommended to us. I'm choosing to review the facilities and not the customer service we received as that was lacking and I am pretty sure that is not representative of the place. We loved the walks and the various sculptures along the route, some of which are breathtakingly intricate and huge! The visitors centre has a vast variety of things available to buy and lots of seating areas although there was signage saying no picnics as they rely on purchases from the cafe. The cafe looked amazing and I was sad we didn't get the opportunity to visit. I will visit again to do the trails and try the cafe. We had an enjoyable day

Great place to go for a visit, plenty of places to walk and take the dogs. Kids enjoyed viewing the different sculptures. Definitely recommend going.

Amazing iron artwork set in the grounds and buildings. The staff are very friendly and the cafe is well worth a visit. Very reasonable price £5 for a day member or £7.50 for a year. Plus as a full member you get discount in the cafe and shop.

An excellent visit viewing the numerous sculptures spread over 50+ acres of grassland. Very good café catering for most tastes. Membership is worth it if you have three or more visits, as sculptures come and go. Also has a very good gift shop.
Taking your camera is a must.

Visited in August 2020 on my Shropshire vacation. I just popped in to check what it is exactly, because I saw online that they have sculptures outdoor, which I am a big fan of. I then spent my half day there and I was amazed! That so many sculptures, all iron-made made me surprised, and I just walked around inside and outside too taking hundreds of photo shots and being happy than a child. Fantastic place, amazing works, I admire them. Tea-room, toilets, everything is in site to spend a half day for singles, couples, families, too. And free to visit, so a bonus!

What a totally amazing and interesting place.
There is an outstanding service coffee shop on site with an amazing afternoon tea option.
The food was totally amazing and such good value, the portion sizes were great.
The iron sculptures were amazing.
I believe the knife angle was crafted and made here.

Brilliant place. For adults and children. Very friendly staff.
Little play area for kids. Cafe with nice food. Clean toilets on site. Dogs friendly place, on leashes only. Water for dogs available. Sculpture park is just amazing.

We managed to find one dry day whilst a daughter was visiting, and we chose to visit here for the first time. It was a thoroughly enjoyable day, from the coffee and scone we had on arriving to our leaving 3+ hours later.
The whole area was pristine which says a lot about the centre and also about the people who visit. The scrap metal animal sculptures are simply amazing. It was wonderful to see so many butterflies and wild flowers around the park.
The morning coffees & scones and the lunch we enjoyed in the Forge Café couldn't be faulted.
The only fault I did find was the disabled toilets. One toilet door (with baby changing) wouldn't close at all, and the other was so stiff that I needed help to get out, not fun at any time but definitely not when in a wheelchair. Thankfully, someone passing heard me and pulled from outside.

Amazing experience for all the family. The price of admission is worth it, and the coffee shop food and cakes are amazing. We visited on a Thursday and it was busy but the service in the coffee shop was fast. You can also buy some of the sculptures, the quality of the work is fantastic.

Absolutely loved this place, can’t believe it’s taken so long for us to visit. All staff were wonderful, food great but it’s obviously all about the sculptures. We spent hours walking around the site, even in the drizzle, making sure we saw everything. Can definitely recommend this place for a day out for all ages.

On behalf of all of our team at Help Ukraine BAMK we would like to express how amazing it was to receive such a generous donation from the visitors and staff at The British Ironworks Centre. Your donations have been sorted and half hand already made it to Ukraine. The remaining half is leaving next week. Thank you for all your support, we can’t wait to come and visit!!

Happened to drop onto this place after travelling into Wales a different way in Feb so decided to travel to take my Son especially this past weekend.
Read reviews first so I knew what to expect and what I needed to know. Also checked social media as they update this regularly.
Had a really good day and would visit again if was in the area.
As others have said, there is a charge for the carpark and to get into the shop, cafe and garden area but it is very reasonable and there are lots of concessions. The food is well priced and tasty, staff are lovely and it's a nice place to visit.
I'd recommend just checking website/social media before you visit and you're all set :)

The Museum of Liverpool is a local history museum that tells the story of Liverpool from its earliest days to the present day. It features interactive displays on city's heritage and hosts regular special exhibitions. The Museum of Liverpool is open daily from 10am to 5pm, and admission is free for all visitors.
This place was great. Well worth spending some hours looking at all the exhibits and learning more about what puts Liverpool on the map. There were lots of hands on exhibits to keep children's interest and pretty incredible to say it was free. On a nice day the whole area is fantastic for a wander about.

This modern museum is well worth a visit. The exhibition spaces are light and airy and display cases carefully arranged and informative.
There is a wealth of detail on the city starting from prehistoric times right up to present day.
Allow about 2 hours for a visit with children. Interactive screens etc are dotted throughout the museum but sadly several were not working on our visit. There is little to keep really young children engaged.
There is a good value cafe and lots of toilets available.

The museum is great. Theres a children’s area with water play, lots of things to touch and do. The staff are very friendly and understanding of children with additional needs.
Other parts of the museum our kids found really interesting. There needs to be a few more toy trains on the wooden track area as 2 didn’t go very far 😂
Great views from the place too!
There was a fun karaoke room which we had a right laugh in.
Took a picnic and sat in a quiet area.
I didn’t think much to the staff on strike outside standing in our way telling us not to go in repeatedly and following us right to the door when it was obvious we had a child with us that had special needs and was nervous of the noise and new people. I thought that was out of order. (Although I understand why they were striking I think it’s important to consider your audience and their needs)
Good day out though, lots to do inside

This is a fascinating place. It explains the history of Liverpool brilliantly and made for a great day. The place itself is situated right in the heart of Liverpool docks, which is absolutely stunning. I was also thrilled to see that it was free entry, and the staff were polite and gracious. I would definitely come back here.

Overall a solid museum and especially with it being free! Excellent exhibits all around although too many kids for me ha! My caveat is the poor directions to get around exhibits. Case in point: entering the 1st floor one faces the Viking history section… and yet the earliest ancestors history is to the left of that. Why are there no signs indicating to start to the left?? It was like this all over many of the larger exhibit halls.
Jennifer Smith — Google review
There is a floor that shows how Liverpool has been evolving in UK's history and the importance of Liverpool. There is a room full of entertainment especially about Beatles. At some audio seats and the karaoke room, you can play and listen to music/songs. The museum's location is by the dock side, so before or after visiting the museum you always get a chance to walk along the dock.
Gordon Choi — Google review
We had zero intentions of visiting a museum - we were looking for a walk along the front to the docks and thought this building was impressive and worth having a look.
It has such a great layout, very interactive, bright and airy! Doesn’t feel at all like a museum!
We didn’t stay very long but I’m glad we visited!

Great building but not sure if it is designed abundantly well. I imagine other museums places etc have a lot of other great pieces but some things felt sparse. Where is unless I missed it the Everton/Liverpool story, once great friends now rivals. Interesting pieces throughout but I lost the sense of how Liverpool changed over the years. Go to the recording studio though that was fun.

I love this museum! Three floors of displays, so many things to view and interact with, displays which can be viewed with all six senses! There are interactive displays, displays you can smell, displays you can feel, displays you can see and hear… and so much more. I’ve been here a few times, multiple times when I was younger and more recently last week when I visited Liverpool for my birthday. This museum is great for all age ranges, the displays never get old! On the top floor there is also a glass window where you can get an amazing view of Liverpool, perfect for tourists - I have attached a picture of this view! Would definitely recommend!

I loved the experience here. It's located just next to the dock. Beautiful location overlooking the waters.

While I didn't have the chance to visit the Museum of Liverpool, I couldn't help but admire its stunning architecture from the outside. The modern design stands out against the city skyline, adding a touch of contemporary flair to Liverpool's waterfront. Even without exploring the exhibits, the museum's striking appearance alone is enough to leave a lasting impression.

This is exactly what I want from a modern museum - large, appealing displays, plenty of interactive elements and things to interest people of all ages. The building itself is impressive and there are fantastic views of the historic Liverpool waterfront.
The variety of exhibitions really shows off all of the cultural, historic gems that Liverpool has and gives an insight into what makes this a city with such character and individuality.
There are things to entertain children of all ages and plenty of other points of interest within walking distance. Best of all, it's free - amazing!

Lovely new building, lots of space and a variety of exhibitions.
Despite no roof garden, there are great views from the massive windows. Could easily have spent 4 to 5 hours in there exploring everything.
And best of all it is free entry so you may as well pay a visit.

An enjoyable couple of hours wandering around this informative museum.
We learned a lot about the history of the city and it was fascinating to see archeological artifacts that had been found in the area. The only let down during our visit was the Gents toilets on the ground floor: small, grubby and only 2 urinals, one of which was out of order.
Free entry as well. Well worth a visit.

Liverpool's maritime museum is a must-see for history buffs that takes you on an evocative journey through the citys rich maritime history. From shipwrecks to uniforms and artefacts, the museum has it all from Liverpools pivotal role in the Atlantic Battle during World War II to its involvement in the transatlantic slave trade.
This is a very interesting museum highlighting the importance of UK in maritime and how its international collaborations led to several great success stories, in WW1 and WW2, as well as improving the safety of vessels around the globe.

Free to enter but recommended donation of £5 (no pressure to donate though). Big museum with loads to see over 3 floors. Customs and Excise exhibit really interesting. Cafe was a bit rubbish - no menus anywhere and staff not particularly forthcoming but went to a food van outside the museum instead and then back in once we'd eaten. A few interactive things to do if you have kids. A good day out

A large museum which I only allocated half a day for. I could easily have spent longer than that here, especially on the International Slavery Museum floor alone. Good that this city acknowledges its part in this awful trade. Other highlights were seeing some items retrieved from the Titanic wreck & ‘Seized!’ - the HMRC section.

Titanic exhibition at the Liverpool Maritime Museum proved to be a profoundly moving and informative experience. This exhibition is a must-visit for anyone interested in the history and legacy of the iconic ship.
As soon as I entered the exhibition, I was greeted by a sense of reverence and respect for the Titanic's story. The museum has done an exceptional job of creating an immersive environment that allows visitors to delve into the tragic events surrounding the ship's ill-fated maiden voyage.
The exhibition provides a comprehensive and insightful look into the construction, launch, and eventual sinking of the Titanic. The displays feature a remarkable collection of artifacts, including personal belongings of passengers, items recovered from the wreckage, and detailed replicas of sections of the ship. These artifacts serve as powerful reminders of the human stories connected to the Titanic.
One aspect that sets this exhibition apart is its focus on Liverpool's connection to the Titanic. As the city where the Titanic was registered and set sail on its ill-fated voyage, Liverpool played a significant role in the ship's history. The exhibition delves into this connection, highlighting the city's contributions to the ship's construction and the impact of the tragedy on the local community.
The exhibition provides a wealth of information about the passengers and crew members aboard the Titanic. Through interactive displays, visitors can explore the different classes of accommodations and learn about the lives of those who were on board. The attention to detail and the depth of research are truly commendable.
One of the most poignant moments of the exhibition is the memorial wall that lists the names of all those who perished in the Titanic disaster. It serves as a reminder of the human cost of this tragedy and allows visitors to pay their respects to the victims.
The museum's audio guide is a valuable companion throughout the exhibition. It provides insightful commentary, personal stories, and interviews, further enriching the visitor's understanding of the events surrounding the Titanic.
The staff at the Liverpool Maritime Museum were friendly, helpful, and clearly passionate about the subject matter. They were more than willing to answer questions and provide additional information, enhancing the overall experience.

The Beatles Story museum is an interactive exhibit that tells the story of the band from their beginnings in Liverpool to international fame and acclaim. The museum contains replicas of key locations in the band's history, including Abbey Road studios and the Cavern Club.
Brilliant museum, passes through the progression of The Beatles, from unknown Quarrymen to the Fab Four....
Great music throughout the experience, with recreated rooms and sets etc..
An audio set with head sets are given at the entrance, these are wiped down at the exit ready for reuse, personally, I used my own earphones.
You will enjoy this trip through time especially if you've experienced the Beatles in your youth. At the end there is a 60s style coffee shop selling refreshments and offering restrooms.
Recommended, enjoy.

It’s so cute and informative. A great story of the greatest musical band ever. You can spend there more than 2 hours if you will listen to all stories on your media guide. And they have lot of languages! If you like their music this a definitely place for you. But the price is too heavy for the museum. It’s £18

If you're from any generation chances are you know more than one of their songs, but if you were a teenager in the 60's they're a large part of the soundtrack of your youth, and thus never forgotten.
No matter who you are this is likely the one place in Liverpool you absolutely must visit. Loved every minute of the self guided tour of memorable photos and exhibits. The digital AV support is excellent and best of all it's at your own pace. MOST EXCELLENT!

Loved the layout. Spent about 90 minutes which was enough time.

If you're a Beatles fan or interested in how they came together and the vans rise & eventual break up, well worth a visit.

Only a small museum but it's got some good exhibits that belonged to the Beatles, guitars and whatnot. Only complaint is that since they introduced audio guides, people tend to stand round blocking the rooms, oblivious to anyone around them. Would be better to get rid of them.

Accessibility is good. lift access and wheel chairs to use whilst in the exhibition, carer goes free. Don't miss out the children's area on leaving, fab karaoke and dress up section!
A few empty spaces where pictures should be in the John & yoko section, the audio description was mixed up, not in line with the lay out or what is displayed.
It's a good experience if you don't know much Beatles history. The shop is Amazing!
Best variety in one place.

Neither of us are great Beatles fans. It was just something we thought we should go and see on a rainy day in Liverpool.
It started off well as I am 61 and have a Blue Light Card, so double discount (£19 reduced to £12).
The entry fee for my partner was £19.
Both entries come with headsets, and to be honest, they worked very well, providing clear information in many languages with an option to pause, rewind, or skip as necessary. You can also adjust the volume of the headset.
The tour took us about 1:30hrs to get around.
It could take longer if you choose to read information in each of the sections.
There is a cafe and shop selling beatles memorabilia at the end of the tour.
The staff we had interaction with were very friendly and helpful.
For me, it was worth the £12 entry fee. My partner didn't think it was value for money at £19.

Considering this exhibit/museum has been in existence 30yrs we felt it wasn’t as good as it should be. I understand official Beetles memorabilia is expensive but I felt it should of had more of the real deal.
The walking guides/headset is a good idea in principle and it does save them money by not having individual guides walking around spitting out the same stuff over & over, however we felt they didn’t always run in order with the exhibits.
For the money I guess it’s worth it but I don’t see it as something you would re-visit.
The Cavern re-creation is quite cool, but then you may as well just go to the Cavern!
Also, if you’re not too great on your feet it does go on for quite a while, there are places to sit in the Cavern section which is about 25-35 mins in, and again about an hour in when there are aeroplane seats, then again about another 15 mins later when you reach sections on the beetles as individuals.
A top tip would be to find out when the least busy times are and go then. I suspect first thing in the morning mid-week. The reason I say this is because it gets quite congested meaning you can’t see and read the displays properly.

You can easily spend 2 or 3 hours in this place. It give real detailed info about the Beatles from their very, beginning until the breakup.

Totally recommend it 😊

We went inside mainly because my girlfriend wanted it badly so here we went.
To be honest wasn't expecting to be as awesome as it was. Very well organised, curated and explained throughout via a audio tour.
It spans from before they were famous until well after they were not a band anymore. Enormous amount of memorabilia, videos, audios of them and people closely associated with them.
In truth everything was excellent and well worth it. If you do know the whole story, if you are a true fan or even if you are mildly interested as I am, I promise you, you will love the experience!

A must for anyone who has even a little interest in the fab four...it's basically a chronological walk through their careers. Lots of interesting info & good exhibits. At the exhibition you'll be given headphones and an audio/visual description to take around with you. I’d not recommend this place. Very few original memorabilia (mostly posters?) and not as complete as you’d expect for a museum like this. I am an American tourist and Beatles fan. We weren’t planning to go into this museum but decided to do it anyways because we were by the docks.
It was fantastic! I highly recommend the audio tour. It was full of information that I didn’t know, and focused a lot on the early years of the Beatles when they were in Liverpool and the people around the Beatles that helped them to be so successful like Epstein.

An awesome museum exploring the history of one of, if not the most, famous bands in history. There are plenty of items of memorabilia commemorating the band as well as items used by them and recreations of some of the sites they would have been to while in their prime. A must visit stop for fans of the band, or even if you have a bit of time while in Liverpool this is worth a visit.

Not going to lie I was really disappointed with this place, it was chucking down with rain and the horrible woman on the door made us traipse back up the stairs to scan a qr code to buy tickets and wouldn't let us hang about the bottom of the stairs because of "health and safety" she also wouldn't let us in to buy tickets even when I showed her the website said it wasn't working! I'm not an itiot and I know how to use a website to book tickets for something but there was an issue ahs she couldn't have cared less. I checked my bank 10 mins later and the money had come out, 5 mins after that (15 mins total after she refused to help) I got an email telling me the tickets had been booked, as the ticket where for 5 mins ago I had a feeling she wouldn't let us in by the time we walked back but she did.
Once in it was fairly busy but not too bad. I was fairly disappointed to find all that really happens is you walk round a really small space listening to an audio guide, I don't know what I'd expect but it wasn't this. I expected some legit original stuff but 90% is "how it would have looked". It only lasts an hour end to end and the prices in the shop are shameful. I'm not sure I've ever left a one star review before and maybe the incedent with the ticketing police set me up to not be happy with the rest of the experience but for £20 each they are making a killing and then they want £25 for a cd you can get from amazon for £8. Tourist trap doesn't cover it!
I doubt they will care but visitor be aware.

Anfield is home to Liverpool Football Club and they have played there since the 1892 season. Over the years, Anfield has seen many redevelopments, including a new stand that was completed in 2005. The current owners of the stadium are considering expanding it to make it even more comfortable for spectators. The stadium also features statues of two of Liverpool's most successful managers, Bob Paisley and Bill Shankly. Visitors can tour the stadium's changing rooms, trophy room and tunnel.
Went on the Stadium tour. Place is pretty amazing, first time in the new main stand and it’s spot on. The provide you with a tablet and headphones to watch as you walk round. Loads of info on the history. As always the staff are super friendly and helpful. Great day out, just be careful with parking

My second visit here, and I always enjoy it. The stadium is impressive, the staff and people are friendly. Getting to the stadium isn’t too difficult, as there are buses running from the city center on match days. The return bus ride can be a bit of a challenge due to the large number of people heading back, but apart from that, it’s a fantastic stadium and a wonderful experience.

Went for a stadium tour with my son for his first visit to Anfield and it was great. We did the self tour with audio guide. There is staff everywhere to help and seeing my son was struggling with the ear buds one straight away got him so overhead ones instead.
We were able to see the stands the dressing rooms have pics with the trophies as well as learning some history on the way. It wasn't expensive and is disability friendly.

My fave stadium in all of Europe. Home to the greatest team in the world. The mighty Reds. A must visit for any football fans. Beautiful. Unmatched atmosphere. Especially on magical European nights.

I'm not into football at all, however my brother certainly is, however he's disabled and needed someone with him
I went here, with fairly low expectations, however it's actually quite decent even as someone who doesn't care for football.
If you have a blue badge, you can park just right outside the Anfield stadium for free, however places are somewhat limited.

This was a thoroughly interesting and moving experience. The 97 Memorial is especially poignant. The Tour Guides Terry and Paul were very knowledgeable and do their jobs with obvious pride and enthusiasm. The handheld video devices are an innovative addition to the tour. It is worth seeing the murals in the nearby streets. Will definitely be back ....

I went to Anfield Stadium last week for the first time, and it was amazing! The big stadium, loud fans, and the famous "This Is Anfield" sign left me really impressed. It's not just a stadium; it's like a special place for all Liverpool fans with a lot of cool history

Superb tour, my 11 yr old son really enjoyed it. The staff are wonderful, so engaging ❤️ It is an audio tour, self guided but they are there to help, if needed, at each area. Loads of interesting history and you get a real feel for the passion for the club by the fans.

We visited Anfield this past weekend for the Legends Match. It was our 3rd time visiting Anfield and what an amazing experience. We sat in the new section of the Anfield Road End. All the stewards and security were very professional and friendly. The new area for the fans in the Anfield Road End is amazing. Friendly bar and food staff. Everyone was outstanding.
In my opinion there is no better experience than visiting Anfield. The history. The statues of former coaches and players. The Anfield Shop is second to none with great staff. It is huge.
We had the best time this past weekend.
Best way to get to the ground is by taxi.

Haven't been here since 2005. Did the tour and loved all the sights and seeing behind the scenes of the greatest club on earth. Can't wait to come back again and watch a game. Anfield is my church.

Did the Stadium tour and museum, watch a great way to start the trip to Liverpool.
Not massive football fans (mainly patriotic when it comes to the main events like Euros and World Cup) so to make us immersed and wanting to learn about the history and team ethos is saying something.
Great tour and loved being able to be at both the top and bottom stands to feel a part of the fan experience.

Did the stadium tour and couldn’t fault it. All the staff were so friendly, approachable and great sense of humour. Reasonable price for the length of the tour and what was included. The Liverpool store after was a treat! Great selection of products and also very friendly, helpful staff. Well worth a visit..

My second time coming here and I always love it. The stadium is magnificent the staff and people are friendly. Getting to the stadium isn’t very hard as there are buses running to the football ground from the city centre on match day. Getting a bus back is a struggle as there are many people heading back but besides that it’s a wonderful stadium and a wonderful experience.

We finally went to the mythical Anfield stadium… and it is beautiful! I love the surrounding neighbourhoods of the stadium, very local, with nice murals.
The food and drinking areas are good with different things to eat which is nice. A bit expensive though.
The logo, the memorial and the megastore are also nice to see.
I would recommend to do a full tour and come to park side where you can see the players bus arriving in the stadium.
The atmosphere inside is to be fair not the best one I’ve seen, or the legend that is being said about it…
The main problem is the accessibility to the stadium, from the city Center there is one bus that everyone wants to hop on so there are no seats left, and we missed out on 2 in a row, we had to take a cab to go there but the traffic is full too. Then when the game is over, very difficult to go back to the city Center so we had to walk 45 min as any other transportation mean are available… was a bit tiring

An experience of a life time, that was my first time and I already have another game booked for after Christmas.. highly recommend. The atmosphere is just something you won't experience anywhere else in the league. We are the best fans in the world.

What an amazing match day on 1st jan 2024. We took our 5 year old son to his 1st game and he loved it. We were seated in the new stand at the top it has a great view and plenty leg room.

Really nicely renovated. It had been over 10 years since I was there last. Took a walk around the whole stadium 🏟 amazing place for any Liverpool supporter to visit.

The iconic Anfield. Away fans are housed in the Anfield Road stand. I was in block AL9 (row 21, seat 205) and had a fairly decent view of the pitch. It was a little difficult to see across to the opposite corner though. The sun shone and the atmosphere was palpable. There was a lot of noise from the stand to my right. Probably the best atmosphere of any PL stadium I’ve visited. Lots of room in the away supporters concourse. I walked back to Lime Street station afterwards, which took about 35-40 minutes walking fast. Programmes are sold outside the stadium. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Overall, probably the most impressive PL stadium I’ve visited, with an incredible rousing atmosphere.

Visited Liverpool recently and decided to do the Anfield tour. It was a great experience and you can spend as much time on the tour. You get to see the stands, changing rooms, hospitality, players restaurant, and get to go down to the football field and see the home and away technical areas. Your also able to visit the museum afterwards, which was a nice bonus. Well worth a visit and quite reasonabley priced.

Even if you are not a fan of Liverpool, you should definitely take a look what's happening there! Enormous, big, glorious and magical - this is how I should call Anfield! And I was on a match that day and I don't think I can't even explain how the atmosphere feels!!

Quality venue for hospitality (and football) where past and present is celebrated but not unduly "in your face" other than football-side! Well-designed facilities and a club shop with huge choice, not necessarily best value, but some unique items.

This was one of the best experiences I've had. We loved every minute. It was our first visit to Anfield for a game and it was smooth sailing all the way. I was wary of entering a stadium with 60+ thousand people but I need not have worried the lines were not long and it was very well organised getting in. The security persons were efficient and fast and we got in pretty fast. Finding out seats was a breeze with lots of very helpful staff to help. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Brilliant football stadium. Full of character and history. Unbelievable atmosphere at the start of the game. Really impressed with how the ground has managed to keep its personality as a 4-stand football stadium as it's expanded to 61k without becoming a soulless bowl. Very busy around the ground but okay to get in. Concourses quite small bit prices very good for football; £3.50 for a Carlsburg. Also, lots of great Steet-art Murals hidden on the sides of houses off of Stanley Park Road.

It's absolutely brilliant. Fantastic ground. Stewards are amazing and constantly helpful. Took great care of fans with additional needs in front of where we were sitting. Anfield Road new stand is one of the best. Of the grounds I've been to, it has the best seating arrangement with a fantastic view of both goals with no restricted seating. Cannot wait for the next opportunity to go again.

Blackpool Pleasure Beach is a renowned resort that offers thrilling rides, rollercoasters, attractions for younger children, entertaining shows, and various dining options. It is a well-known destination with iconic features such as Blackpool Tower and the Illuminations. The town's long-standing reputation for fun and excitement dates back to the late 19th century when it became famous for its amusements and oyster bars along the Promenades Golden Mile.
Had the best time ever !
Rides are impressive and are plenty to choose from, lots of places to eat and the place is kept very clean and tidy.
The prices are fair (around 40£ for a day pass if you book online) and the staff are always there to help you with anything you might need.
"The Big One" is definitely worth trying, even for people who are afraid of heights !
Totally loved it !

A true definition of fun, thrill and amusement. A gigantic ride on park that gets adrenaline pumping. Games, merry go rounds, super high speed roller coasters, boat cruise, tower lift, good meals, all sorts of fun games and rides.
The place is well situated, very neat and spacious. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
The ticket takes you in and you can use it for all the rides. Safety is paramount as little kids are subjected to height measurement before using certain rides.
A true value for the money. Kids love it so much. I will definitely recommend to family and friends and return back some other time.
Great fun!

We visited on a Tuesday and could finish riding most of the recommended rides within 3-4 hours. I would recommend trying to book the tickets in advance(little cheap) and also if you’re a uni student to avail 10% student discount. Also, BPB has lot of rides suitable for every age group though the crowd was mostly kids. Moreover, wait time for the popular rides is usually 20-25 min. So, if you visit on weekends maybe the wait could be more. The food court is good too. All in all we enjoyed our time there.

We went to this place in the summertime, so it was extremely busy. It was lots of fun though, worth the visit. My son and I went on all the thrill rides. Man, did we 😱 scream. They also had lots of gentle rides for the younger ones. The best ride in the park was the Sponge Bob splash dash ride in Nickelodeon land, playing water war with everyone. We were completely soaked, but we laughed so hard it was so much fun. Take a change of clothes for the kids. There are lots of places to buy food but not enough seats to enjoy your meal. In all my life, I have never been anywhere and felt the sun so hot. There was absolutely no wind on the day we went. The coastline was so dry and hot that day it almost spoilt the day. The worst part was that the restaurants didn't have enough water/ice to cater to the volume of people there. My advice is to take lots of ice and water with you if you plan to go to Blackpool in the summer ☀️. Whatever you do, don't venture on the beach. It's nasty.

We had great fun going on the rides. Never had any food there as had already eaten. Sadly only stayed about 3 hours as had a long drive home as it was a Sunday. It was very expensive for the short time there but all of us enjoyed it from my two year old granddaughter to myself the granny and the others in between lol as there were 5 of us in our group.
It was great to have rides suitable for all of us.

Really fun day out. Pretty good value compared to some competitors, especially the food and drinks which are pretty reasonable prices by theme park standards.
Really needs more seating, especially near food outlets. Also some more shaded areas for hot days.
Some areas are a bit scruffy, but the rides are world class. Staff are really friendly.

You know it’s lovely to visit Blackpool to see the lights walk the prom and grab a chip shop take out and sit and watch the waves 🌊 or go up the tower for a view. Lots of shows on and gigs to attend there’s something for everyone in Blackpool area the weather can be bad as it’s the northwestern uk but it can also be very good in the summer months but the lights are an autumn festival.

We had a nice time at the park. While we enjoyed being here we did find it rather difficult to find rides as there are no sign’s around for directions and the map is not the handiest. The park does seem rather old so it would do with a bit of a glow up. We were there on Saturday and it was pretty busy with the longest queue being about an hour. Would be interesting to see the queues on a weekday

Couldn't book online as was last minute thing so was a little shocked at the gate price. Family of 3, with a 5year old, lots of rides he was still too small for but there were plenty he could go on. Staff operating rides/in amusement arcades were all very friendly and welcoming, food at restaurant places quite expensive but not too bad at the various stalls dotted around. Plenty of toilets.

Overall really good, but the opening times are too short. We were in rush to visit everything, especially knowing that some of the rides close at 4pm not 5pm. The waiting times were brilliant, not too much people, but its because it was Wednesday.

Great way to spend a day, nickelodeon land is great for smaller kids.
It is a bit of a pain having to use your phone to scan a QR code to scan to get on every ride.
The picture options for the rides are reasonably priced, £20 for a wrist band you can scan on all the rides with cameras and get a digital copy

First time at a theme park and the pleasure beach offered a truly great experience. All the rides were unique in their own way, and most (newer ones) were very thrilling and smooth.
Place was kept very clean and all the staff were nice and friendly.
Good value for the price - a set price and was able to go on any ride and amount of times. The app helped knowing the length of waiting times.
Plenty of food and drink at reasonable prices. Including some gift shops scattered around.
Overall, the pleasure beach was an amazing experience and I would certainly be going again.

Went on a Sunday. Mix of weather but no fast winds so all rides were open. ICON was the best by far, very smooth and enjoyable.
Valhalla was a disappointment compared to the one before the upgrade. Would not recommend it. Infusion gets worse every year. Lot of head banging and was painful.
Big One again lives up to its name.
Kids had a lot of fun in Nickelodeon Land.

It's a small theme park with 100 years old roller coaster, which is really amazing.
It is the best attraction for the young crowds to have fun here.
There are entry fees for it, and you can have full day fun if you are looking for a theme park but not a grand one.
Opposite to it is a very peaceful beach with benches provided to sit and relax. If you are at this very place in early hours, you can relax yourself with the melodious wave sounds.

What a day we had! We went on a trip, and when we arrived, I was blown away at how awesome the fun fair was.
There were plenty of things to see and do, and the food was really good.
Going to Bubble Waffle was really interesting as the way the way the waffles were made were so cool, and it's definitely something new to try if you haven't already!
Definitely recommend going because it's a really good family day out!!

First time we've been for nearly 40 years... we loved it just as much now and we did back then. The wooden rollercoasters are just brilliant. Valhalla was amazing and all the old favourites, ghost train, Alice in wonderland, etc. are all well maintained and very nostalgic. Go have lots of fun at this fair. Pricey but worth it if you stay for the whole day

It's definitely worth visiting and you will have a good time but it most definitely needs a Paint job and on some of the rides you can see a lot of rust and patchy worn out rails and bodywork. The food though is top dollar and some of the best I have tasted, the pizza's are the best I have eaten and great fish and chips and the donuts are yummy. If ya want a pint or whiskey etc it's all there waiting for ya. They need a better system of getting on the rides coz having to show your digital pass on every single ride becomes a pain. I like that they have a lot for the kids as well. They do really have to sort some of the rides out coz you really do get thrown about on some of them and the big one tends to break down a fair bit and one other thing it's the Easter holidays so you would expect the place would stay open later instead of 10am and closes 5pm. Also the hotels mostly are poor so if you're in Blackpool then pay the extra and stay in the better ones like the big blue etc, honestly I'm telling you the truth coz most of them get full up with homeless people etc and social services are visiting these what they call hotels. You also have Ripley's which is well worth the visit along with sea world and lots of others.
Smileyanz — Google review
We stayed the night before in the Boulevard hotel. It was excellent. You get to use a hotel guest entrance to the park. I love Blackpool and I love rides.
The pleasure beach isn't what it used to be. The south end of the park, by the big one, icon etc seems to have been in receipt of support. The middle from the river caves towards the main entrance is a sad sight.
The big one is still an experience all this time later, it's a rattly intense blast, which is cool. Revolution is an old skoop classic and icon is a next gen beast. The grand national is fun. Infusion is fast and intense. The nickelodeon flyer is good for a laugh. The planes and avalanche are Blackpool staples and still very enjoyable.
When we were there the ice blast tower looked like it was being removed, the river caves were closed and the horse ride by valhalla was closed. The kids car ride is closed and from what I hear is being removed in the future.
Hopefully when the car ride is replaced it regenerates this section of the park.
I hope it was just early in the season, so they were just getting the place ready for the summer season. I'll be honest I didn't see any signs of this, but I'm being optimistic!
It was about £150 for the 4 of us to go in, there's no option for none riders. The food inside was fine, reasonable pricing. Most people we met working in the park were warm & friendly.
I wish I could write that it was amazing, but it wasn't, 3 out of 5 is fair. We'll be back to Blackpool, but the pleasure beach will be a swerve for us until they tidy the place up a bit.
mark tighe — Google review
We visited on a day of high winds so unfortunately some rides weren't open until later in the day and the big one was closed all day. However I feel the park should offer some kind of return incentive for a day when it will be open as it hasn't been open every time we've visited in the last 10 years. The park opened at 10am, but hardly any of the rides did. We found ourselves waiting nearly an hour to get on the first ride. Throughout the day we managed to get on all the rides we wanted as queues weren't huge, but it didn't really feel value for money compared to what's on offer at Alton towers etc. Also I understand height restrictions for safety but how was my son at 131cm allowed on most of the big rides but wasn't allowed on bumper cars? He's been on bumper cars across the country before with no issue but here it's height restricted to such a high height? Anyway it's a fairly tame thrill seekers day out but I wouldn't be in a rush to return.

Chester Cathedral is an imposing Gothic cathedral built on the site of a much older church and abbey dating back to the 9th century. The structure was extensively remodeled following the Dissolution of the Monasteries in 1541, with Late Gothic features such as a stunning tower and west front added. It's located in Chester, one of England's historic cities and well worth a visit for its breathtaking architecture.
We did the volunteer guided tour of the cathedral and it was brilliant. Our guide, David, who has known this building from childhood, was so knowledgeable about the history of the building and answered all our questions. He brought the history of the cathedral alive with his descriptions and stories, giving us a real sense of the social history of Chester through art, architecture, religion & politics. There are three of Robert Thompson's "mice" in the cathedral. We saw one; we're coming back for a "mouse hunt" to find the other two!
The refectory appropriately houses the café, and is in itself spectacular with the most fabulous modern stained glass window set at one end, and walls full of generations of chiselled graffiti. Great selection of food and beverages, all very reasonably priced, with pleasant staff.
I highly recommend this place, even if you're not the slightest bit religious like me. You shouldn't really visit Chester and miss out on going to the cathedral. You'd do yourself an injustice.

We were pleasantly surprised by the cathedral and volunteers. Entry is by donation only, though at Christmas it is £2.50 for the Christmas trees.
There are beautiful ceilings, floors, mosaics, stained glass windows, woodwork, and more to see inside.
They are also building a Lego model of the cathedral, with people able to pay £1 per brick then actually contribute it to the sculpture. (Very innovative fundraising idea!)
Make sure to check out the cafe - it’s an amazing atmosphere.
Toilets, gift shop, and tours also available.

This is the best cathedral I have seen in England. It is very large and beautiful both outside and inside. It is like a museum and quite inexpensive. We spent about one hour on the inspection. Here you can see a rare picture on a web, an old organ, silent bells as an exhibition, etc. Admission is just £3.

This Cathedral is wonderful and must be visited! The star of our visit was Emma who took us on the tour of the tower. Don't be put off by the number of stairs and narrow passages, the tour is broken by visits to balconies with views into the cathedral. Emma gave a concise, informative and clear history of all we saw. We loved Chester but the tower tour topped everything!

A beautiful cathedral with plenty of history and tales. I was fortunate to have a solo tower tour - simply because no one else had booked. If you want to visit one of Britain's grandest cathedrals this is the place to go. Majestic on the outside and beautiful on the inside, whether your religious or not this building will leave you in a state of wonder. You can admire the majestic interior of the building or just sit in a quiet alcove and let your thoughts drift back into history to the times of the previous Bishops or even your loved ones of the past. It even has things for the children to see, including a duplicate copy of the cathedral which they are currently constructing in Lego. There is a shop where you can purchase religious artifacts and local jewelry and there is a cafe where you can get very good food at a reasonable price. You can also purchase a sandwich, drink or a meal to be given to the homeless, an excellent idea in which I participated. A visit not to be missed and if you can stay a few days you can explore the beautiful city of Chester.

Impressed with the array of goods for sale in the Gift shop, would have liked to use the cafe but just missed it, heard an amazing choir singing/rehearsing too, added to the atmosphere. We used the, out of town, park and ride service. Free parking and 2. 50 an adult bus fare.

My wife and I enjoyed exploring Chester Cathedral during our stay in the historic city. Even from outside on the main shopping streets, the tall spires caught our eye and attracted us to pay a visit.
Pre-Christmas, the visit was not free and required modest fee for the tree exhibit.
Stepping inside was like going back in time. Tall stone arches rose high above us and it was remarkably quiet (maybe the entry fee or the cold day).
The sunlight streaming through colorful stained glass windows was beautiful.
Few friendly volunteers were there to help us learn more.
The special exhibits for Christmas added holiday cheer, like a hallway filled with decorated trees.
It was fascinating to learn about the building's 900 year history. Everything was well taken care of so visitors could appreciate the architecture and art up close.
Whether interested in history, art or just looking for a peaceful place, the cathedral is worth a stop.
Even without being religious, this place gave a sense of the past. The friendly staff made our visit more interesting too.
Chester Cathedral should be on any visitor's list while exploring this historic town.

I went there last year to see Pete Waterman's railway layout. It was amazing to watch it all in action. While I was there I wandered around the cathedral and it was astounding to look at all the intricate woodwork and masonry. I never knew it was a Benedictine Abbey. Well worth going along.

It was a great opportunity to visit the amazing and eye-charming architecture of Chester Cathedral, surprisingly it was free for all visitors.
The staff was kind and helpful, it was huge and had a lot of religious and historical inscriptions, and also rich in archaeological writings and symbols. It impressed me and I recommend visiting it to all those coming to the city of Chester.

This is such a beautiful building and quite rightly The locals are very proud of it. I was lucky enough to see it over the Christmas. and it was so beautifully decorated with an exhibition of Christmas trees from the local schools. It was just a beautiful sight thank, you Chester.

Finding Ones Inner Peace
Our first stop in Chester was the Cathedral Church of Christ & the Blessed Virgin Mary with roots dating back to 1100.
As we took a stroll through the sacred premises, a sense of peace and tranquility washed through us as we admired the washed out cobble stone floors and walls.
What caught our attention the most was the beautiful stainless glass which glimmered as it caught the random rays of sun.
Keep your eyes peeled as portions of the Cathedral have inscriptions dedicated to various individuals of significance. Some might even consider just relaxing in the garden of remembrance as you soak in the warm sun rays and lush greenery.

Wow what an amazing Cathedral! It is absolutely beautiful and steeped in history. You could spend half a day in here. History related to maritime, world wars, local history, wellbeing. The choir were rehearsing, what an absolute joy and pleasure, angelic. Lovely cafe and toilet facilities. There is even a bookstore and gift shop.

As Cathedrals go, as one would expect, vast and impressive. With some delightful embellishments of a non- religious nature. Not least the cafe . Austere, impersonal, and ,as a feat of engineering, remarkable. But I prefer the intimacy of the original cathedral, the church of St. John ,which I recommend
We visited on a wet ish Saturday and bought the £11 family pass for 2 adults and a child valid for 24 hrs on the bus and the trams. Rode all the way from the south pier to Fleetwood and back to the sea life centre. Then we rode back again to the south pier. The conductors whom we bought the tickets from were friendly and helpful. The service is frequent and was nice to be able to visit Fleetwood. Worth the money and great to see the sights outside the main strip. Also a good way to see the attractions.

Great value and iconic way to see the Promenade in Blackpool!
Some of the trams are open top, which is great for the illuminations but beware of bad weather! We just missed an open top tram and we were disappointed we missed it. But as luck would have it, a rain storm came out of nowhere and we were lucky we got on a tram with a roof!
Tim O'Sullivan — Google review
I was looking forward to a ride on the tram which I experienced today. Unfortunately the tram was very busy with standing room only and despite all the information I have seen they would not accept my bus pass for payment. I was not the only person on the tram who expected their bus pass to cover the cost if the fare. The conductor was very nice about it but told me I would have to pay for the return journey so I declined and got off at the next stop and had quite a long walk back into Blackpool. I suggest they update their information.
Chester's city walls date back to the Roman era and are a significant historical landmark. The three-kilometre walkway that overlooks the wall protects visitors from seeing the defences in their entirety, as only Chester has maintained these walls throughout the centuries.
Really nice walk that takes you round all of Chester. We really enjoyed seeing all the sites and reading about the history. Definitely a recommendation if you visit the city
Josie Mellor — Google review
We did the walls in about 45-50 minutes, taking a more leisurely pace as we read all the signs along the way and stopped for pictures a few times.
The walk is well paved, though there are stairs in places, and it's a pretty easy walk compared to other city wall walks we've done.
It's extremely picturesque to do the whole loop as it passes the cathedral, racecourse, main shopping area, and more historic sites along the way. Highly recommend if in Chester as it's free and you get to see a good amount of the town.

The walk round the city wall is a great way to introduce yourself to Chester. Great views over the River Dee, the shopping centre (get off by the amazing clock tower), the Cathedral, the castle and the Racetrack. Chester is rightly famous for its wonderful black and white buildings, great shops and pubs some of which have a lot of history themselves. It's about 2 miles round, so not too strenuous. After doing it, you probably won't get lost anywhere in the city.

Roman walls around Chester City Centre.
In all about 5,000 steps, (approx 2 miles) ancient built Roman wall, restored to make a fabulous and interesting walk round Chester city Center.
Starts by the river and Chester castle, takes in the city Center, the Roman Amphitheatre, Chester cathedral, the canal, and Chester race horse track.
Lots of places to stop, eat & drink, walking tours available if you want.
A walk and wander along the City Walls is one of the best ways to discover and experience the magnificent history of Chester.
All in all great couple of hours walk taking in all the history and sights of Chester.
Highly recommended!

Chester city walls consist of a defensive structure built to protect the city of Chester in Cheshire, England. Their construction was started by the Romans when they established the fortress of Deva Victrix between 70 and 80 CE. It originated with a rampart of earth and turf surmounted by a wooden palisade. From about 100 CE they were reconstructed using sandstone, but were not completed until over 100 years later. The walls are now the one of the most tourist attractions in Chester City.

Madame Tussauds Blackpool is a wax museum chain with branches across the UK. It has a large collection of wax replicas of famous celebrities from all over the world, as well as historic icons. The Blackpool branch features themed galleries with Figure Skating, Strictly Come Dancing and Coronation Street attractions.
Very good way to spend a couple of hours. Would be nice if there was more to see and do, but what is there is top quality. Me and my son had a brilliant time and such a laugh with all the wax works. He even got to the top of the climbing wall. All the staff were super pleasant, we really really enjoyed it

Awesome place. Definitely book online to save a few quid. Should have walked around here a bit slower as we managed to do it all in an hour and a half. Plenty of photo opportunities, although found that some of the photos we took didn't save to our card given. Really nice here though and staff were friendly. We went on a Monday for opening time and it was pretty quiet too, so much easier to get photos. Marvel section was BRILLIANT!

First ever visit to Madame Tussauds and it was superb. My 5ry old son and 4yr old daughter absolutely loved their time here ( we didn't know how they would be, with all the walking around and we didn't know if this would be there thing) it was so lovely to see how much fun they were having and having their pictures taking with all the wax works. We spent around 2hrs and it was 2hrs of pure fun and laughs. The wax works them selves are really good. Good value for money and I would highly recommend visiting. The venue was very clean throughout and the staff were friendly. Thanks for the memories.

Doesn't take long to get around so bear that inind when planning your day. Took us about 1.5 hours to casually walk around. Would defo recommend as part of your day out but would book in advance as I can imagine it becomes very busy.

We were not disappointed and had lots of fun from strictly come dancing to Ant n Dec to trying to pull out Thor's Hammer with a good pint in The Rovers Return!
This experience took us around 90 minutes as a group of 6. We booked this in advance with a Pic n Mix tickets.

Used our Merlin Cards (otherwise £14-20 odd entry fee) to get in. Fantastic venue with very little queueing (weekday morning) and very little crowds (unlike London venue). Smaller venue than London, but just as good and entertaining. Fun for all the family (10 -68 year old).
Be aware, no parking. Strongly suggest parking in one of the many council car parks

It was a good experience, thought there would be more and recent celebs to see. Was a good couple of hours and the group liked it took alot of photos but I was expecting more like when I was a child. I would suggest getting tickets on li e because if you have them then it is straight in no waiting only mega positive for me. There is wheel chair access and lifts to go between floors which really good.

I was supposed to be going up the Tower, but it got cancelled with 48 hours notice. I was offered to swap my tickets for Madame Tussauds, which was a simple process.
Honestly, it's not entirely my vibe. I can appreciate that they have tried to get figures of people/characters from a wide range of media, but it still felt slightly underwhelming.
The Marvel area was more interactive and interesting, with clever use of props to amplify the Marvel setting.
I did go by the wax hand counter and purchase myself and my partner's hand cast, which was a fun experience, and the staff were very friendly throughout.
I would recommend if you're into your celebrity icons/binge media, otherwise, you're not missing much.

Recently visited Madame Tussauds for the first time. It was definitely a blast seeing all these popular BBC (I believe) shows and life like statues was certainly a unique Blackpool experience. And for anyone wanting a nice drink, there's a small bar in the EastEnders section. If I recall correctly, they served some food and drinks (both alcoholic and non alcoholic) so it's a nice little place to pit stop if you need anything. Additionally, at the end there is a small games section with vending machines, some games and a rather pretty view of Center Pier (and the surrounding area) to admire while you relax or have a snack. Overall a great experience and highly recommended, especially with friends or family.

It wasn't as I remembered from being a child but then everything changes. A lot of the wax works were very life like and some of the sets were great. The one thing is the accessible help is brilliant they were ready and waiting to take you from floor to floor and gave you information about the next exhibits. The Alan Carr exhibit is great and also tells you all the work that goes into making a full figure. On the way back we were shown the way to the final exhibition and the gift shop. The lady in there was lovely and really helpful. In fact being fair all the staff were. There are plenty spots to sit for a rest. You can also get a drink in the Rovers Return half way round.

Chester Zoo is a large and popular zoo located in the city of Chester, England. The zoo has an impressive array of animals from all around the world, including some rare and endangered species. There are also extensive gardens with beautiful waterways and landscaping, making it an amazing place to visit whether you're a animal lover or just looking for a relaxing day out.
I mean whats not to like about a zoo right?!?!? kids loved it, I loved it, was a real fun day. Saw plenty of animals, the best ones for me always has to be the elephants and giraffes. such majestic animals. Was lovely and clean and kept tidy. My only complaint with zoos is the amount of walking you have to do, but again its all part of the experience!!

Amazing for the people and the animals! Such a great day out! So many animals there and you can tell what great lives they have. Such an amazing conservation zoo - some of the purchases can be pricey but the proceeds go towards the conversation and the animals. Always developing the area to change it and make it new. The volunteers are super helpful and knowledgeable. Pretty accessible for wheelchairs and mobility scooters. If you go regularly I would 100% recommend getting a membership - it makes it such better value. If you can I would also recommend getting there earlier as it is quieter and also bringing your own lunch - takes a big expense out of your day. But make sure to get an ice cream from Junes Pavilion!

First time at the zoo. Got there for opening time 10am, they pen you in near the elephants which becomes overcrowded very quickly. You’d think they’d just line people up at the main gates and then filter people in.
So wandering around, the vast majority of the animals are still asleep at this time of morning. The suns hot, the animals have more sense than to come out and play in the hot morning sun. So the vast majority of the animals from lions, monkeys, and leopards, were all still tucked up in bed. Was a shame we didn’t get to see them. Maybe they should entice them out with some food?
But there’s so much more to see and do. There’s loads of other pens that you can actually go inside. Such as the bat cave, where huge bats are flying about above your head and past your face.
There’s loads of places for food and drink, loads of places to picnic which is probably the best thing to do.
We spent a good 4hrs in the zoo. Definitely visit again in a few years, and highly recommended.

The best Zoo in the UK! Visited with my family. Tickets are bought in advance. Parking is free. Well-organized and friendly staff members! If you want to book a buggy, there are single and double buggy available. Only, there is an age and weight limit. 45kg and up to 7 years old. Book VR for kids. Face paint is available all around the zoo, 10-15£. They will love it! Moreover, you can book a family photo option which is an amazing experience. On your way back home you can get them printed. Decent price to be honest. Rhino is outside of the Zoo territory even before you enter so don't forget to see Rhinos! African Quarter is underway and expected to open Summer of 2025. Waiting!

One of the best zoos I have been to. There is a LOT of walking and it will take all day to get round. The animals look very well cared for. Their enclosures seem spacious and there are plenty of places for the animals to find shelter, if us visitors annoy them too much.
Most of the animals were easy to spot, I think the tiger was the only one we didn't manage to see. Definitely worth the visit. Baby orangutans are adorable to watch.

We visited today due to the teachers strike and bats off to Chester Zoo for allowing kids to go free, it was a big saving and allowed us to do something exciting. We booked in advance so gaining entry was very straight forward, parking was also plenty and well organised.
To start with the place is massive, so please plan to be doing a lot of walking. This said it's all super accessible, a few small inclines but nothing too bad, we managed with a pushchair and five year old.
There is some construction going on for new areas but it certainly didn't detract from the visit. The whole place was really clean and tidy, each exhibit looked fresh and not tired.
There are so many animals to say and you can easily spend a full day here, I would certainly download the app and plan the visit.
One area that pleasantly surprised me was the range of eating establishments. From quick tuck shops to a couple of really nice coffee houses. We are in the food hall, which wasn't too busy when we dined but I imagine it could be really busy during peak times. There were three food vendors, fresh pizza, fish and chips and burgers. The quality was really good, gone are the days of cheap fast food, this was fresh and good quality. We finished off with an ice cream Cheshire Farms.
In conclusion I would recommend a visit, the whole place has grown and evolved so much over the years, so if you have never been or haven't been in a few years it is worth a day out!

Fantastic day out! We arrived when the zoo opened and were one of the last cars to leave after it closed. The keepers and staff are all extremely friendly and look after the animals incredibly well. The best zoo experience we have ever had, will certainly be returning.

Absolutely fabulous day out, this is definitely one of the best zoos in the country.
What makes it so good is down to the quality of everything on offer.
First and foremost is the well-being of the animals, which are housed in large habitats that are well maintained and balanced to meet the needs of the inhabitants whilst still providing a close-up view for visitors.
There's a very strong focus on conservation and education and a variety of displays and activities to reinforce the importance of caring for our environment.
There's really so much here for the whole family that a short review cannot do the zoo justice.
Go and find out for yourself, you won't be disappointed.

We went to the lanterns and lights show that they have on in November and December it was fantastic we enjoyed this very much. I would definitely recommend going seeing this stunning event. Be prepared to walk so wear comfy shoes and wrap up.

Chester Zoo is a great family day out for young and old.
Its constantly changing and growing, its built on an ethos of conservation and protecting the animals.
Its a huge place and takes all day to get around and look at the species that are there.
We took our own picnic as I always conscious of the captive audience prices. Indeed it cost £3.50 for a bottle of water.
My Granddaughter had her face painted and the signage outside said this would cost £13 with a tail or ears. She chose a Tiger tail. My daughter was charged £17.50 for this.. this is shocking. I volunteered to go and bring this up with the face painting team, however my daughter didn't want a fuss making. So just be careful. £17.50 for a three year olds face painted and a tail. It is great to see the animals, however the feeling of being exploited in monetary terms is there throughout the day as everything has a hefty price tag to it.

Love Chester Zoo and on this visit was lucky enough to see Inka and managed to get some pictures. The 4D Gorilla experience is absolutely fantastic and well worth the £10 extra for the 2 of us. Like a couple of other reviews, only marked down because of the food. Very expensive and not very good quality which is a shame because when we first visited in 2019 the food was fantastic but since the food area reopened the quality is awful. An Unforgettable Wildlife Adventure at Chester Zoo
I recently had the pleasure of visiting Chester Zoo, and I must say, it was an experience I won't forget! The moment I stepped through the gates, I was immersed in a world of wonder and amazement.
The variety and beauty of the wildlife here are simply breathtaking. From the majestic elephants to the playful monkeys swinging through the trees, every exhibit was a treat for the senses. The zoo's commitment to conservation and animal welfare shines through in every corner.
What impressed me the most was the educational aspect. The informative talks and interactive displays added depth to the experience, allowing visitors to learn while having fun. The staff's dedication and passion for wildlife conservation were evident throughout the park.
The layout is fantastic, offering a well-thought-out path that allowed me to explore comfortably without missing anything. The facilities were clean and well-maintained, and there were ample spots to take a break, relax, and enjoy the surroundings.
The zoo's commitment to sustainability and the environment is admirable. It's evident they're not just a place for entertainment but a force for positive change in the world.
Overall, my visit to Chester Zoo was an absolute delight! It's a must-visit for nature enthusiasts, families, and anyone seeking a fantastic day surrounded by beautiful animals and a welcoming atmosphere. A big thumbs up to Chester Zoo for their incredible efforts in wildlife preservation and for providing such an unforgettable experience."

A great zoo, much larger than we expected, with some stunning animals - you'll want a full day here. They also have 26 EV charge points available for guests, which is great! They're at a reasonable cost (40p/kWh at the time of posting), although are rather slow at about 3.7kW unfortunately, even when not shared. Great to see tourist places starting to add chargers though!

Yes it's a zoo and ultimately I'd much rather the animals live in the wild but as zoos go this is as good as it gets.

We’ve just been to Chester Zoo - what a fabulous attraction. Be warned, this place is huge - you will need comfortable shoes but there are plenty of places to stop and have a drink. The animals are fantastic, although it was a cold day when we were there so a lot of them preferred to stay in their dens, rather than come out to see us. But we got to see the snow leopards (wonderful), and lots of other wildlife.

We arrived upon opening time and were surprised at how busy it was on a week day with the kids still at school.
We were lucky enough to meet the 2 week old giraffe and witness a gorilla eating it's own feces, which was definitely an experience!
We did take our own picnic, like many others, which I imagine saved us a small fortune. There are plenty seating areas, shaded and otherwise.
Would love to revisit!

It’s a great zoo with plenty to keep you going all day. The staff are very approachable and friendly and were fantastic with my daughter who has additional needs.
While it has to be understood that animals are not there to entertain it was frustrating that several of them were in an unsociable mood.
The only criticism I’d level is that it’s very expensive, and once your in there’s a lot of opportunity to be further mined for coin. Also the layout has random sections and paths fenced off and it doesn’t flow well for seeing everything.

Great day. Saw the newest baby when he/ she was just 7 days old. No queuing for anything. Had buttermilk chicken burger and chips.which was lovely. All the animals were well looked after and had lots of room.

Loved the zoo! Very large so was a struggle to get round in a day but thats a great thing as the animals had space! Looking forward to seeing the new enclosure with zebras etc. They had an egg hunt for the children going on and that was a lovely touch...even got a chocolate treat for completing it at the end.
The Owl & Bird of Prey Sanctuary is a protected avian center that provides flying demonstrations and treasure hunts for children. Located at Turbary Woods Sanctuary, it can be accessed through the Garden Centre in Whitestake, Preston. The sanctuary is managed by a group of volunteers and features six-wheeled bugs that kids can ride around an obstacle course. Visitors can also enjoy the cheap drinks and snacks at the little cafe.
The kids loved the little 6 wheeler bugs! They got a couple of mins talk about how to use them and a good 20 minutes round the track. There were obstacles, water and a tunnel and they absolutely loved it. Decent at a tenner each too.
There was a little cafe with cheap drinks and snacks (tea was £1.25 and chocolate bars were 65p). It wasn't expensive at all. Didn't visit the owl sanctuary this time.

Really cool experience definitely worth it, seeing the beautiful owls and birds was just amazing. The bird show was really interesting, great info, being up close to these beautiful owls and birds was great.
My kids loved it, and the fairy door hunt and animal picture hunt around the facility was fun.
Really nice staff who adore these owls and birds was lovely too see.

What a fantastic place. Staff very knowledgeable and friendly. We attended the bird display, got hold over 5; birds. It was quiet when we were there.
If your expecting Chester zoo , it's not what it is, is a informative and relaxed place, off the beaten track.

Went to the Owl & Bird of Prey Sanctuary With my partner today and it was absolutely Amazing first of when we arrived their was this lovely person who greeted us and was very helpful with our questions and told us all the information we needed to know after that we went around to look at the Owl’s & Bird’s and they were beautiful we then sat down to have lunch and after that went to the Bird Air Show which started at 12:30 it was amazing the way they told us everything about the birds and how to hold them was spot on and it was very good both me and my partner enjoyed seeing Magic,Wally and Sammy afterwards me and my partner had gone back to look around for the last time before we went and my partner need to find something and the lovely person who we saw at the start had heard us asking were Wally’s Sign was she then helped us and showed us and told us more facts about wally this person was amazing and very nice would come back here again :)

Brilliant place to introduce kids to the kings of the sky. The staff is friendly and very interactive. At some point, you feel sorry for the birds being in the cage, but as the staff explained later, their chances of survival are better this way. If the weather permits, the birds put up a show. The kids loved finding the doors of hidden fairy houses, it was very engaging experience overall.

This is a lovely place to visit if you have even a passing interest in owls or birds of prey. It has a slightly run down feel to it but don't let that put you off. This is a volunteer led site that relies entirely on the money it can generate. The bird flying which takes place once a day (at 12:30 currently) is the real jewel in the crown of this place. The two presenters were extremely knowledgeable and nearly everyone in the audience who wanted to was able to interact with the birds.

The sanctuary is an amazing day out. Brilliant way to get closer to our wildlife led by knowledgeable, fun volunteers who clearly know their stuff. All money goes back into funding their work. Highly recommended for a visit!

Lovely relaxing afternoon, the birds are amazing, and there is interesting information about every bird as you walk around. The flight show was great. The staff are amazing, very knowledgeable, and ensure the visitors get involved, allowing people to hold the Owls. There is a gift shop on site, it is a cheap and cheerful experience. I will definitely be going again 😁

You can see the LOVE the volunteers put into the Sanctuary. Beautiful birds, lovely hidden gem in a little forest area, the bird display was phenomenal. You know it's good value for money when you feel almost guilty that it only cost £30 for a family of 4 with everything we saw and experienced. Well done volunteers your Sanctuary is fantastic :)

What a fabulous place. The birds are awesome. They are in a natural setting and the staff are so proactive within the sanctuary. I will be back to support the sanctuary and to see these beauties again. The place its self had seated areas and is so tranquil ❤ just listening to the birds.

Beautiful birds! And even more amazing staff. My partner and I visited the owl and birds of prey sanctuary yesterday (19th March). The birds were gorgeous and so fascinating. It was amazing to see the bonds they have with their owners.
Thankfully they had the all clear for bird flu as they did a little flying show for us! I would definitely recommend!!

We have had such an amazing day out watching the show today, we were lucky with the weather, so stayed pretty much from the start till the end of the display. The birds were just magnificent and the trainers are all incredibly knowledgeable and clearly dedicated to their birds. The audience was mixed, full of very young kids, teenagers anf adults of all ages and the trainers ensured that everyone who wanted got to hold a bird (or 2 or 3!!).
The place would benefit from donations to update the cages, but if you're going to just see the show, you should not be disappointed.
The place also offers a picnic area and a children's playground area where you can relax before/after the show in the fresh air.

Definitely recommend if you would like to try something new or find something to do on a spontaneous day out, especially on a budget! The highlight was the talk at 12.30 as everyone in the audience had the ability to hold the owls with flying demonstrations. The staff were lovely too... keep up the hard work.

Super place run by friendly volunteers to home rescued birds. About 70 different types. Birds look in great condition. Good information boards and excellent flying show where you get to interact with the birds which are well mannered and safe. Very much recommended to see these amazing birds close-up. Reasonable price entry fee which goes direct to upkeep of birds.

Great little place ran by very passionate people. The flying display is the highlight with each party getting there own glove and having the birds flown to them, magnificent experience. Good varied collection of owls and birds of prey in the sanctuary. Access to the sanctuary is around the back of a garden centre via a unpaved track just follow the owl signs!

Great afternoon for me and my two girls.
£20 is all it cost us! We all enjoyed it 🦉
There’s a little play area and fairy houses for the kids, plus my eldest enjoyed doing the scavenger hunt.
It’s run by volunteers, who are really friendly and are a credit to the place.
Would highly recommend 🦅

I didn't expect this place to be particularly popular and I was a bit surprised how many people were eager to see the owl show. the show takes place at 12.30 pm (weather permitting) and lasts about 1 hour. volunteers have a lot of knowledge and are able to convey everything in an interesting and funny way. my son was a little disappointed that some guests had the opportunity to hold the birds much more than he did, but in the end he too waited for his turn. The birds are great, although the conditions in which they live are a bit unpleasant. getting to the parking lot may raise doubts that we are going to the right place;) overall, I recommend it and I hope that the money obtained from ticket sales goes to improving the living conditions of these birds. adult £10f, child £5

Fantastic place with a close up flight display at 12.30pm. The staff were friendly and super informative. The birds were beautiful. £10 per adult and £5 per child. We paid on the door and they take cash or card. Enclosures were in a lovely woodland next to a fishing lake. There was a small play area and picnic tables. Parking easy and toilets at the entrance. My son loved holding several owls during the flight display. Suitable for all ages. We had a great afternoon.

Had a fantastic day out at the sanctuary at the weekend. We were greeted by a few of the helpful and friendly volunteers as we paid for entrance (£10 is an absolute bargain and the money goes towards taking care of the birds). Time flew by as we spent an hour and a half looking at the birds. There were so many different birds to see and each one was magnificent. The bird flying show lasted about 2 hours and everyone had a brilliant time. 6 different owls came out one by one and everyone had several opportunities to let the birds land on your arm as the volunteers taught us plenty about the owls lifestyle and personalities. It's the perfect day out for people of all ages!

What an amazing place to visit! My daughter absolutely loves birds, so it was a must visit for us. She absolutely loved it! There are lots of different stunning owls and birds of prey, you can tell are very well cared for by the volunteers. The bird show at 12.30 (dependant on weather) is the star of the show, what a brilliant opportunity to hold some of the owls and learn all about them. She got to hold all 5 birds and has never been happier. On entry they we're given clipboards with a scavenger hunt for fairy houses and animals, once completed it they got a lolly. There are lots of picnic tables to eat at, take a picnic theres no cafe. There are toilets situated just outside the main gate and free parking. All interactions with the volunteers were positive, they are genuinely lovely people who clearly love what they do. Although its an hours drive from Manchester i have no doubt we will be back multiple times, i highly recommend you visit!

This theme park is perfect for families with toddlers and children up to the age of thirteen and is packed full of attractions, shows, rides and much more. There are two indoor attractions which include a waterpark and a branded Nerf zone, as well as a range of slides and other activities outside. If youre looking for an action-packed day out with your little ones then Gulliver's World Resort is the place to go!
Amazing value, entertainment staff and perfect for small children up to teenage. We looked at the reviews and I’m unsure how they have a negative review. With the cost of the room you get free entry to park, there’s woodland walks, free entrainment on a night for children and free meal for the family. We will be back again soon. As a family ours the best place we have stayed in the U.K. highly recommend by our family. Water ride was the best for us.

We'd not visited for years as we'd found it very run down previously. It hasn't changed.
There is so much that could be improved with a cost of paint or a bit of care but this doesn't seem to have been done. If be surprised if they've done any maintenance during the closed season.
That said staff were really friendly and ride queries were short. Definitely not a full day out, but ok for a few hours.
Don't think we'll return.

We visited here on a sunny Thursday afternoon in June with our 3 year old.
We had a brilliant day, arrived around 11am, left around 3:30pm and managed to get on 15 rides, have a sit down lunch and spend some time on one of the playgrounds.
The selection of rides for a 3 year old are brilliant, and there are only 3 or 4 rides she was too small to go on. We only queued a maximum of 20 minutes for 2 rides and most others we got on straight away. The park was reasonably busy with some school trips, but not horrendously can't move busy.
We had food from the diner at the park entrance and it was fairly average and overpriced typical of most theme parks, but it's what you expect. It was okay and the portion size was decent.
At the end of the day, there were still lots of things we hadn't done and we could have easily spent a second day there doing the theatre, rides we missed, soft play and playgrounds.
Parts of Gulliver's World do look old and tired. You can see they are improving things though, for example the Gulliver's Gears area was new since we last went and that looked good.
However, I don't think the tired bits particularly bother toddlers and when you look at price it's really good value for money. It cost £42 for 3 of us. If you go to Nickelodeon Land at Blackpool or Cbeebies Land at Alton Towers you can pay that for 1 person.

Great place for a family day out. Some areas look tired, but in other areas of the park, you can see the continuous improvement.
Young families can enjoy the rides together as a number of the rides just require the children to able to sit up unaided as long as they are with an adult. Which was great as we had a young toddler with us and a 6 year old.
Plenty of picnic areas throughout the park. Those wanting hot drinks there are a number of kiosks offering hot drinks and even a Costa on site.
The fresh doughnuts are lovely, and the choices of ice creams on offer are great.
If you are a smoker, there are a few designated areas around the park for you to go also.

Had a fantastic 2 days on the park. Lots of rides mainly for kids. My little girl was 3 and got on majority of rides no prob. 90 cm tall and then lots of rides open if you ride with an adult. There is 4 or 5 bigger rides nothing flashy but caters for many ages. Plenty of food outlets and toilets dotted around. Not a massive place but good value for money would 100% go again especially with the hotel stay. Queues on the weekend were OK some longer waits some shorter depending on popularity but no more than about 45 mins.

Took 3 Grandchildren (9, 7 and 3) and had a lovely day. Very busy but most queues were reasonable. The bigger water rides were extremely busy and you need to have children who are patient in waiting!!
Very clean and all staff very friendly and helpful. Very strict on height allowance which is fair for health and safety 👍
Only 2 show times available which means you are quite restricted, especially if you find yourself on other side of park.
Be aware lots of wasps 🐝🙉
All in all, brilliant day had by all 😁

Value for money I would say. The theme park is a bit old but it’s very clean. There’s quite a lot of classic rides to play with and things to see. Don’t expect many big new rides but you won’t get bored in the park. Must try their fresh donuts which are £4.5 for six 👍

Great family theme park, ideal for kids. Park is a reasonable size to walk around without little leg’s getting too tired. Themed events throughout the year are fab. We’ve done both Christmas and New Year here and the atmosphere was brilliant. Plenty of areas to sit and eat if you’ve taken a picnic.

A really great place to take younger children. We went with a 3.5 and 4.5 year old, both tall enough for every ride we tried.
There was always something for us to do.
There is a little old age to some of the locations in the park but not enough to put you (or more importantly the children) off. We all had an amazing time.
They have really thought about the issues that arise from taking young children to theme parks.
Toilets always seem close by. There is always some kind of mini park/play area/climbing frame close to all the rides which is perfect if its busy or big waits or one child had to wait because they were too small.
The rides fit adults too which makes it such a fun day. We loved apache falls!!
There are little ducks running round which was cute.
The dinosaurs area is perfect for toddlers. My son loved it!!

Fright Fiesta was a joy, despite the pouring rain and cold conditions we had a wonderful day. It was a half term treat for my little thrill seeker and it definitely lived up to our expectations (went beyond them in fact). Daniel on the Togo Tower (02/11/23) was just lovely, he even let my son win a race between us and he along with every other member of staff deserves a 5 star review. We hardly queued at all so that made the day even more special, definitely worth a visit in the low peak times if you don't mind some rough weather. Plenty places to eat and grab a coffee. Thank you for the memories ❤️ I've not doubt we will be back!

We went for the land of lights for the first time and enjoyed it. Wasnt busy so easy to walk around and see everything. Lovely atmosphere and some fabulous look lanterns. Nice stop offs for hot drinks and food but we also took our own snacks which is good to be able to do. Only negative, wish it had last longer with even more lanterns.

Great off-season experience. Went with two 10 yr olds and a 4 yr old and was worried the older kids might be bored but enough faster rides. They even enjoyed the ball pit in soft play, which was a surprise, allowing me downtime with a hot drink ☕👍. With most queues being less than 10 mins and a ticket offer on it was exceptional value for money. You can even take your own food if you prefer, although save room for the fresh doughnuts! It is old and tired in places and a couple of rides had to close briefly for maintenance (hence 4*), but well loved, good variety and fairly clean with engaged friendly staff.

A Swashbuckling Adventure for All Ages at Gulliver's World Warrington!
From the moment we stepped through the gates, Gulliver's World Warrington transported us to a world of pure, unadulterated fun. My children (aged 6, 10, 12) were wide-eyed with wonder, and even I, a jaded adult, couldn't help but be swept away by the infectious energy.
Thrills and Chills for Every Daredevil:
The park offered a fantastic selection of rides catering to all ages and thrill levels. From the heart-pounding drops of the exciting rides to the gentler spins of the calmer rides, there was something for everyone.
Make sure you book a day with good weather and you'll certainly enjoy!!

From the mixed reviews i was dubious to what our day out would be like but the kids had a good time. It was classed as low season so I'd hate to visit when its busier because there would be meltdowns left right and centre as the ques were already long (over 1 hour we waited for one of them!) . We arrived at 10.30 and got into the park at 10.45 left at 4.45 and id say we managed to do about 60% of the rides and none of the play grounds as there was no time due to the ques so im glad we didn't pay full price (ques could of been reduced if they actually filled the ride every time and there wasn't 3 adults to one kid🙄). There are plenty of picnic areas and some of them are sheltered too incase of rain. My daughter had quite a nasty accident but couldn't find a staff member anywhere thankfully a member of the public had extra supplies to top up my own.

Nice family day out for both the adults and the kids. There's a few new rides that have been added since I was last here 5 years ago. However, on the flip side, there are areas of the park that are looking a bit run down and in need of a revamp, some rides were also out of action. Stacy who was running the log flume was absolutely brilliant in keeping it organised to a regimental fashion as it was so busy! Plenty of parking and eating and drinking facilities. Overall it was a good fun day out but just not quite the five star experience, but has the future potential to be a five star.

Great theme park visited with a 4 year old she absolutely loved it loads of children's rides and great for all ages! Apache falls was a brilliant ride and loved the boats! Best to visit throughout the weekday and wear something comfy!

Getting through the gates was relatively easy as was the parking although closing off enough space for 20+ disabled cars for 1 bus seemed pretty pointless!
The remaining disabled spaces numbered about 6.
The 1st ride, we stood in the queue for 90mins! and missed a lot of the rides due to the size of the queues.
I had a double cheese burger which eventually had onions and cheese even after the server told us he had none left but only after we asked for a refund. £6.95 which considering the establishment wasn't too bad even if the burgers were just warm and the cheese cold.
The pizza place was no different and was slightly undercooked, the poor lady working on her own was definitely under visible pressure.
Having captured for the little ones in our group we decided to check out the roller coaster which the adults were looking forward too.
Having got there we were told that it was closing due to the fireworks despite only being 6pm and the fireworks due at 20:45!?
Fireworks were better than expected which added to our day.
All in all I probably would go back but during the week when less quiet and also take my own food.

Went for the Land of Lights display and my boys loved it, both 10. We stayed over in one of the Wooden Cabins. Quite small and very basic, but still had a nice cosy feel to it. Check in was a nightmare! None of the staff knew where our accommodation was, just had a rough idea of the area, but still sent us off in the wrong direction in the pouring rain. We went for the breakfast, train ride and met with Santa package. The breakfast wasn't worth waiting for, so glad the boys had theirs already or they'd have gone without. Park rides were good, plenty to keep busy for a few hours. A couple of issues but all in all a very enjoyable stay. Would recommend.

Came Friday - Saturday for Santa's sleepover and land of lights.
We had an absolutely brilliant time, The hotel room was lovely and clean, The only downside was the mattress was awful and no cot mattress so needed to use a towel which wasn't ideal. The staff was very helpful and polite and nothing was too much trouble.
For the packages I'd of expected an itinerary and times of what was happening but didn't receive this so hard to plan with a baby.
Theme park was great, the whole Santa experience was amazing, train ride etc was brilliant.
The only problem with the theme park I'd say was it was hard to navigate around with the Christmas was land of lights parts were closed off so we ended up getting lost quite often which wasn't great in -2 degrees with a baby.
Food and drink are very expensive in the park £2 for a can of pop and £15 for a meal.
Asda around the corner so we got snacks to bring as we couldn't afford the meals there for breakfast dinner and tea for 2 days.
Definitely recommend for families with young children, looking forward to coming back in the summer.
Thank you for a great first mini family holiday and first Santa visit for my baby.

What a clean, beautiful, well maintained, very safe place.
This is so underrated. The entrance gives you the feel of Disneyland. This place has rides for toddlers to any age. Some dare devil rides to rides that anyone can enjoy. Must visit.
The staff are super nice, enthusiastic and very friendly, helpful. The rides are clean and at the entrance of each ride the staff security checks and joy in receiving every child is beautiful to watch. They do not get stressed. They maintain the same momentum till evening.
The place looked immaculate like no one has been there but the park was fully packed. No litter, no overflowing litters anywhere any time of the day. Clean toilets from 10 till 4 p.m.
Coffe Station, food court was THE cleanest ever!! The staff sanitise every table before and after use. Never seen a kitchen this clean. Disney standards was just OK.
They have everything from meet and greet, rides play areas, climbing net, games what not.
Def a must go. It almost looks like each and every staff is a family and works so amicably.
Do not miss it and you will not be disappointed.

The kids and us big kids absolutely love this place. The price is decent especially since they do so many offers throughout the year which as adults get in free for mothers and Father’s Day! Really appreciated. The food isn’t great but none of the theme parks are. Gullivers is more for younger children. It is not the hype like Alton towers but it is quieter and less queuing apart of the odd busy summer days. They have designated smoking areas on site as well as a large selections of cafes to buy snacks and drinks. The rides are fantastic for the little ones especially the Jurassic area. My only peeve is they sell helium balloons for something like £15! Which we bought as a treat for the kids. But they don’t even include a weight!? So the balloon can just so easily fly away….

Went for the Festival of Lights around Christmas time and the lanterns were incredible. Plenty of detail, huge designs that were very, very impressive.
Extremely busy as you can imagine. Mulled wine & cider was advertised everywhere but none alcoholic only which is a requirement when you're around so many kids to put up with the noise.
The park definitely needs a coat of paint everywhere and some maintenence. Would make things look fresh and clean. Still a good experience though

We went on an Easter holiday and my 7 and 3-year-old daughters had a blast. The event had everything from bubble shows to play areas and competitions, keeping the kids thoroughly entertained. We were pleasantly surprised to find minimal queues, allowing us to explore all the games. Trying the delicious ice cream was a highlight, and the option to rent a pram for only 10 pounds was a lifesaver, especially for our tired older daughter

Place is very run down. Everything looked either broken or dirty. The rides were very dated! All the attractions and decorations were so old they looked like they were barley standing the dinosaurs and cowboys were terrifying in their own right. Most had at least one appendage missing/snapped off. Everything was dirty, the water rides the water was brown and disgusting. The toilets you could smell before you even seen a sign for them.
For the price we paid to get in I would expect so much more. The range of rides is OK some for young and early teen kids. There are parks dotted around which was handy. The food on offer wasn't the best but was edible. I would advise to bring your own. There is plenty of benches and tables to use for picnics.
If your looking for an amazing day out I would avoid especially at the cost they are currently charging. I felt slightly robbed and seriously underwhelmed. There was people walking round smoking cannabis in the public areas near the rides and parks. There was members of staff walking round at the time and no one was challenged. This alone put me off ever visiting again.

Brockholes is a nature reserve in Lancashire that is home to rare bird species, as well as the floating visitor village. It is a great place for family outings, with plenty of beautiful walks to explore.
Wonderful nature reserve with different walks. It has features like carved statues to spot, ponds, a little lake that the big cafe rests over. There's bird spotting areas & they have courses for children & adults working in nature being creative.
A well run visitor centre with plenty of parking & a playground for kids. It's a great place for the family. Dog walking isn't allowed on the reserve though as the environment is delicate with birds & wildlife & closely governed.

Absolutely love it here. Beautiful scenery and fantastic wildlife. They have a range of activities throughout the year for the kids which are either free or cost little. In the summer you can certainly make the day of it, great park for young and older kids especially. £5 parking all day, considering looking into monthly/quarterly cost for the car park so we can go more. Went today for the kids orienteering and the ladies there were absolutely fantastic, great service.

Very pretty wetland and nature reserve, so much to see and do. Visitors centre with plenty of interesting information and games and puzzles for children. A very nice place to visit, the wildlife appeared to be taking a day off though, having said that at my age my walking range is a bit limited so will revisit. The catering is rudimentary in its offerings considering the modern kitchen and equipment available to staff.
Parking there was plenty room, one option £5 for all day but money goes to funding the reserve.

Lovely place to walk round and see wild life but the cafe is poor. No individual tables to sit at only long ones, coffee and tea have to be made yourself from machine, soggy chips being kept warm rather than freshly made. Should be better for the price. They need to check out Martin Meres cafe that is excellent.

Great nature reserve. We visited on a Sunday morning. It's £5 to park in the carpark with automatic number plate detection when you enter. Plenty of space in the carparks.
The UK's first floating visitor centre was great to visit. The woman in the visitor centre was really friendly and we picked up a map of the area. We got a drink and cookies in the cafe which were a tad on the pricy side. There's also toilets there too.
We walked over five miles round the different trails. We saw squirrels, a heron, various birds, hares, longhorn cattle and deer. There was also a stone circle, bird hides and many sculptures dotted about the lakes.
Would recommend a visit. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

Beautiful setting, car park is £5 but worth it for what's here. Great staff and prices are reasonable. Only thing that let it down was dog walkers in a place meant to be dog free. We brought our son with ASD as a safe space for him to feel free to run around but hampered by idiots who think more of their dogs than others or what the place is for. Would be good to see staff patrolling for issues such as this but aside from that a great time, fun explores and very relaxing.

Beautiful place, great parking which you do have to pay for. Lovely walks and play areas for kids of all ages. No dogs allowed, unfortunately, but that's so there's no interference with the wildlife. Would recommend for a nice relaxing walk with family

Lovely place for a walk, wheelchair friendly, and child friendly. Nice cafe with seating and toilets. There's a decent kids play area on the other side of the car park.

My first visit to this excellent nature reserve next to the M6 motorway. My sister who has been before guided us for a 3.6 miles walk around the reserve with coffees half way round.
Paths were very muddy today but the weather was fine. It was very interesting watching the sand martins using the purpose built nest site.
Howard Marsh — Google review
A great nature reserve close to the M6 motorway with a floating visitor centre including a cafe, there is also a small play area for children and it has the Guild Wheel Cycle Route pass through the reserve as well as running alongside the River Ribble.
There is a fee of £5 for the car park which covers for a full days visit, and the proceeds are put back into the site, you can also purchase a 3, 6 or 12 month car park pass to make it cheaper if you want to visit more often.
A good selection of birds, ducks, squirrels and even deer roam around the site. The paths are good for those with walking difficulties, prams and wheelchairs too, although it was a tad wet and muddy when we visited but there has been quite a good amount of rain recently and the site is on a natural flood plain.

Reclaimed land from an older quarry. The 'floating' village is striking, although quite how it floats is a mystery as it rests on concrete. The location and view though is spectacular. The cafe could be better, which is why I haven't given 5 stars.

Jodrell Bank is a world-famous observatory which is home to the world's third largest steerable dish radio telescope. The Observatory also has an extensive science exhibit, cafe, and star-hunting scavenger hunt.
So so interesting we had a brilliant afternoon. We got rained off for a lot of it, so in the summer, we can explore a little more of the nature side. The staff were fantastic and so knowledgeable. Great talk about the telescope, too. she was brilliant (sorry, I didn't catch her name). Really good 😊

Wonderful place to visit for any age. Getting there could be better signed up, but there is an ample car park and a nice arboretum for picnics, playground for kids and walks. The museum and the Dome cinema are amazing same as the Science Show. I would add more exhibits about the stars, solar system and about astronomy in general. Worth buying the return tickets.

Really interesting place to visit. Enjoyed walking around the centre. The half term show was educational but interesting- kids liked it. The staff who presented the show were really engaging and looked like they put a lot of effort into it. Probably not one for younger children. The cafe is very small so gets busy during peak times but there are plenty of picnic tables. Would go again. I would say its something to do for a few hours not all day but worth going.

I'm glad I didn't read the negative reviews beforehand. First time visiting, and we loved it. It's not a cheap trip, but it was interesting, fascinating, informative, and educational. Plenty of space in the car park, which you also had to pay for, clearly people were parking up and not paying to go inside. We spoke to the staff who made the trip even more enjoyable due to their enthusiasm and knowledge.

Love it! So informative! Get to touch a 4.5million year old meteor! Behold the vast expanse of the universe, and the pioneering scientists such as Bernard Lovell who yearned to understand it, and made such marvellous feats of engineering as the giant radio telescope dish, visible for miles around, which seek to obtain this goal. A great day out, especially with kids! The 2 cafes are pretty good. Decent pies, sandwiches, salads, jacket potatoes £5-£7. Plentiful amounts of tea 👍

A great tourist attraction and piece of local cultural capital, everyone who lives nearby should visit Jodrell Bank at least once. The Lovell telescope is the main attraction but the surrounding buildings are full of interesting exhibitions and knowledgeable staff. It’s a great place to take the kids but you wouldn’t be out of place if you went without kids too.
I attended a talk on my most recent visit and the presenter was engaging and informative. I’m pretty sure that the particular talk I went to was aimed at kids but she did a cool demonstration of a rocket and the other adults seemed to enjoy it too.

We had absolutely a great day out here! So much to learn, to see. Interesting pavilions where a short video shown about the telescope, the space, the Milky Way, great set up, kids love it. In another one, the talk about the observatory and the telescope and even show the experiment on a big plastic bottle how the rackets are launched. Interesting!
The cafe is lovely, great food, the staff are super friendly 🙂 Would recommend it, great day out!

Venerable science station owns the space as it used to own it's targets it first studied. Plenty for old and young alike. Optics of the stars in the auditorium needs fine tuning and there is absolutely no need to mow every blade of grass when the dearth of insects is a global problem.
The arboretum tries hard to make up for it but a little more thought required on this issue.
Splendid helpful staff.

Was a good experience and the size of the telescope is quite impressive. Enjoyed the hands on activities. Would have liked to have maybe had a live stream available into space to see a planet or moon, but did enjoy it.

A great nerdy little day out. The dome tour was short and sweet. Very informative. The staff are knowledgeable, but the whole experience is geared more towards school children. Still very enjoyable as an adult if you're into nerdy history and space.

As I love science, space, stars end evertyhing else that comes along, this place was a must to see and explore. Listening to a guide and learning about radio telescope itself was an amazing experience. Seeing that mamoth moving was so exciting. I recomend seeing and participating in planetarium show, listening and watching looped videos and if your hunger start kicking, there are nibbles and drinks right within your reach.

Really enjoyed Jodrell Bank. It's a beautiful walk and has some really fascinating and interactive parts. My favourite part was the asteroid you can touch. For an extra £5 you can go in this 3D cinema thing. It was really worth it.

We had a great day here! Went on a whim as live not too far away, seems they have upgraded and built a lot more on the site when speaking to people who went a while back ! The free talks were very good and the free films however we didn’t manage to make it into the paid films as didn’t have enough seating, but this didn’t ruin our visit. Plenty to do and read about and spent around 5 hours here, also got to see the telescope moving

Great place to lose a couple of hours.
Easy access to car park.
Quite flat, so easy to get around.
The film show is excellent and worth the wait to see.
Decent cafe to grab some light lunch and a drink.
The walk down to the radio telescope is only a couple of minutes.
Highly recommended
If you intend to return get your tickets online as this qualifies for free entry for a year.
If you buy tickets at the gate it's just single entry.
Wheelchair accessible throughout.

A lovely, if not quirky, for us, day out. Interesting exhibits, content & well laid out across the site, all within easy walking distance. Highlights were definately the enormity of the construction of the dish & the mystery of the 'Whispering Dishes'....wow! The visit was made all the better thanks to the great customer service & contributions from three lovely, helpful ladies, Kerry, Louise & Samantha who interacted with us in different locations throughout our visit. Brilliant 👏 👏 thank you.

We were on a campsite nearby and read that there was a cafe open at weekends to drop in. Not a great walk there along the A535, not pedestrian friendly on the private driveway in and only to find the cafe was closed on a Saturday in May! They drop the car entry barriers at 3:30pm too as we noticed a few visitors by car turned away. Not dog friendly either.

Jodrell Bank – The world of space awaits you
What is Jodrell Bank?
Jodrell Bank is an UNESCO World Heritage site that is located in the heart of Macclesfield, Greater Manchester. It is a great place for die hard space fans. This brilliant museum holds a range of exhibitions, displays, talks and dome shows that take place throughout the year.
The site of Jodrell Bank is unique in that the building is spread out into 4 separate buildings across lovely surroundings.
Jodrell Bank consists of 3 Pavilions.
They are:
The First Light Pavilion
The Planet Pavilion
The Space Pavilion
There are also outdoor exhibitions too.
Exhibitions Visited
The Story of Jodrell Bank
This exhibition explores how Jodrell Bank became the place that it is today. It was an engaging, interactive and informative exhibition that explored RADAR technology and how the Lovell Telescope was developed.
It was also interesting learning about the life of the person that created the telescope. There was a school report that showed that he was not good at school but that then changed when he got older.
It was great that this exhibition used a variety of mediums such as text, photography, time- lines and videos. This ensured a fulfilling experience that stimulated all the senses.
Interactive Sections
In addition to the exhibition there were also some fun and entertaining interactive elements too. This consisted of a dressing up section where you could wear a number of coats and hats like a spy. It was cool.
There were some cool games and jigsaws relating to space that gave a fun perspective on these issues. One thing that I really enjoyed here was the spinning thing that when turned it moved the telescope. That was an awe-inspiring moment.
Entry and Admission
In order to visit Jodrell Bank you are required to book a time slotted ticket and to pay for it online in advance of your visit.
For price details then visit the Jodrell Bank website for further information.
Facilities
Jodrell Bank has a café that serves hot and cold food such as sandwiches, pasties and cakes. They also offer a variety of hot and cold drinks. It is reasonably priced.
Toilets are on site.
Lighting and Access
Some of the exhibition spaces at Jodrell Bank have dim lighting however using my Smart glasses enabled me to read the information and to see the objects to the best of my ability.
In relation to access then there is a step in order to enter the building and the other supporting parts of the building. There are ramps to access the various rooms in each of the 3 Pavilions.
Parking
Jodrell Bank has its own designated car park where you are required to pay for it online. However if you have a Blue Badge due to a disability then parking is free.
If you want to learn about space in a fun, immersive, engaging, and interactive way then Jodrell Bank is the perfect place to do that and more.

Really cool. Would love to see a recreation of the control room or even tours offered of that area.

Great place to visit for half a day or so. We spent 3.5 hours there, watched a couple of Space Dome shows (free and paid) and saw an entertaining telescope talk in the morning. Good interactive museum area, especially for kids, I imagine we’d have spent at least another 30 minutes in that area if we had children with us.
Excellent value for what you get, definitely a hidden gem and well worth popping in if you’re nearby or passing on the M6.
Cafe was good too, pies, potatoes, sandwiches. Lots of drink choice.

The Lowry Manchester is a renowned arts theater located in a prominent quayside building. It features two theaters and galleries showcasing works by LS Lowry and contemporary artists. The reopening lineup includes the highly acclaimed live production of C-O-N-T-A-C-T by Aria Entertainment and WEF Productions, performed outdoors from May 18th.
Excellent evening, very comfortable seating, lots of bars and accessible toilets. Helpful staff seating people arriving late. No photographing in the auditorium and phones turned off. Parking easy but expect to wait in long lines of people paying their parking fee after your events.

An excellent venue. Great theatre and gallery space. Main performances in large theatre with superb sound and large staging space. Don't miss the other performances in their smaller theatre space at much reduced prices.
Visibility is excellent. The first row of circle is great with no obstruction.
Note that Phone signal inside main theatre is very poor.

Very good venue in Salford a d next to the media city. Also beateful at night with all lights lighting sound it. One problem at the moment is the road work and hence the way to get to it. Another problem is this car park at the end of good and full house performance it is difficult to exit the car park quickly or quick enough. Be prepared. Last night attended megnificent and performance by John Bishop and experienced that. The place has every to complete going to the theatre. Fantastic restaurant 🍴 bars outside restaurants near by and shopping centre. Also there are public transports next to it. A few buses and the metro link a few minutes enjoyable walk. Then you can see the media city and at night the night. Also the ship cannal there to see day or night 🌃.

The best theatre I’ve went to. The seats were comfortable and they were placed so that you see in between the people in front of you, rather than directly behind them, so you get a good view regardless of where you’re sitting - we were seated at the very back of the stalls but still managed to see everything well. I would definitely return in the future!

went to see Sea Sick Steve. Great tickets nr the front and therefore good sound too. However found it a bit of a maze to work out where our seats were. First couple of attendants just tried to sit us down in entirely wrong seats and we were told to go to the wrong part of the theatre twice.
The bar area was q large and relatively easy to get served....although shut q early.
Id give the concert 5 but the theatre 3 For bigger gigs or shows id ensure that I was in my seat earlier

Lovely albeit chaotic visit to the Julia Donaldson exhibition. I had thought it would be a little more structured and perhaps follow a route around but it was a free for all, and direction, and way and although my two boys loved it I found it all very stressful 🫣 it seemed so crowded it was hard to see any of the displays properly. The staff were so helpful and friendly in guiding us to the galleries.

Beautiful building and venue with several theatres in the one location. Sitting looking over the river. Great for having pre drinks before your show. We visited the Julia and Axel exhibition at the Lowry. It is a free exhibition and is fantastic for all ages. It also includes the L.S. Lowry exhibition which is well worth a visit.
You can easily spend a full day here because there is so much to see. It is ideal for kids to visit during the summer holidays and it is on until the start of January 2024. It is a well planned exhibition. Full marks to the organisers.

Lowry Galleries – A great place where the artwork takes centre stage
What is the Lowry Art Gallery?
The Lowry Art Gallery is a modern art space that is located in the heart of Salford, Greater Manchester. It is a great place for art fans where a variety of permanent and temporary exhibitions take place throughout the year.
In addition there is the LS Lowry collection where there is a beautiful selection of his artwork and paintings that are on display.
Exhibitions Visited
Julia and Axel – Thirty Years Of Favourite Stories
Who are Julia and Axel?
This exhibition charts the lives of writer Julia Donaldson and illustrator Axel Scheffler. It also showcases the brilliant illustrations from their famous works. Julia is famous for children stories including The Gruffalo, The Smartest Giant in Town, Zog, and more.
Beautiful Stories
This exhibition showcased each story that is written by Julia Donaldson in a lovely way. Each one such as Zog gave us a eye-catching summary of what the story entails and the characters involved. It is done in a way that is engaging and appealing to both adults and children.
The Illustrations are magical
Axel Scheffler’s artwork and illustrations are brought to life by injecting a large palette of colours. They were imaginative and captivating to see. However, descriptions were on the thin side. I expected a bit more.
Games and interaction
It was great to see the exciting flaps on the walls where if opened it revealed little interactive one liners and silly games which are mostly aimed at children. I would have liked to have seen something interactive too that was aimed more for adults.
The Exhibition as a whole
It was a good exhibition that gave an interesting insight at the work that a hard-working partnership have produced. The way that it was organised was great in that for each story they produced they gave you a summary, creative artwork that related to each storybook however the downside in that it was aimed at a younger audience. It is great that this exhibition is designed with care at children but I expected more for adults. They should have injected something exciting for them whilst the kids are enjoying the activities for them.
Entry and Admission
This exhibition Julia and Axel – Thirty Years of Favourite Stories is free to enter however due to the busy demand then you are required to book a time slot ticket in order to guarantee entry.
Facilities
There is a Tower Café on the premises but not on the same floor that offers a variety of sandwiches, cakes and drinks at a reasonable price.
There are other cafes nearby if that is not your taste.
Toilets are on site.
Lighting and Access
The environment in which the exhibition took place was well lit which meant that I was able to take advantage by seeing all the artwork and reading the summaries for the stories produced.
In relation to access at the Lowry Gallery then there are lifts or escalators that will enable you to access the floor in which the exhibition is taking place.
Parking
Parking is available at the Quayside Media City UK (formerly The Lowry car park). If you have a Blue Badge then you can stamp the ticket at Customer Services where you can get 4 hours free. This takes effect from the time of arrival. If you go over that time then you are required to pay £1.10 per hour over.
If you are a fan of Julia and Axel’s work and you want to learn more in an interesting way or that you have children that love the story books then you are guaranteed to have a great day out at the Lowry Gallery for their current exhibition. Grab those tickets before it ends

Great angles from all over made watching a great play really enjoyable. And what a production! Really creative but with some fun moments given such a morbid subject. Note: there were lots of young children in attendance and I would have said 12A was a better rating for this show but your mileage may vary.
Getting out of the carpark at the end was a major pain and took almost half an hour so be prepared to be patient.

Old Trafford is the world-famous home of Manchester United, and it's a buzzing place to visit. You can take a tour or watch a match if you want, but even just being around the stadium is exciting in its own right. There's plenty to do around the grounds too, and it makes for an amazing backdrop for selfies!
The largest club stadium in British football in terms of capacity, the theatre of dreams really is a sight to behold. It is very dated, but that adds to the charm as so much incredible football history has occurred here on this turf. The atmosphere on a match day is electric (despite the myths rival fans like to perpetuate), and even when visiting it on the tour when it's empty, it's beautiful.

Best Stadium in The World, really good quality football stadium. The new away fans disability section is top notch, with amazing view of the pitch and its own bar. Really friendly customer service from all the stewards in helping the disabled and carers get to their seats. Friendly staff that could not be more helpful. Amazing football played, especially by the Brighton away team and their fans were superb. We thought that the home fans had gone home by half time but some had stayed to watch their consolation goal and made a bit of noise, but then the stadium was again quiet and there must be fire drills happening all over the stadium as fans were leaving early. The home fans were so quiet. No famous atmosphere here. The city was Blue, just like Brighton. Best away day ever.

Always enjoy walking round here, nice vibe and it's good seeing people enjoying being there. The statues are spot on and the Stadium itself is very impressive to look at, albeit quite intimidating at the same time. The photo boards depicting important moments in the history of United were great as well, I could remember a lot of them which was good.

Went down for the super league grand final.
Staff were superb, right across the ground the staff were fantastic. Bar staff, security, helpers etc all very friendly and embraced the atmosphere.
The fans were superb, rugby fans are among the best in sport and it's one of the main reasons I've really gotten into rugby league. Love going to games as its a guaranteed laugh.
In terms of the stadium
It's been a while since I've been to a stadium that dated. Inside looks like it hasn't changed since the 80's. For a club of that size, you'd expect better.
4* only down to the dated facilities. Everything else was superb and memories I won't forget anytime soon

Absolutely fantastic. This is by far one of the best stadiums I have ever been to in terms of shop, history, service, tour and connections. The tour is very nice considering the fact you can go inside the stadium and look at it. There is also a ,Munich Tunnel’ containing the history of Manchester United including the great loss in 1958. The shop is well equipped with loads of souvenirs, clothes, Jerseys and stuff. I really enjoyed it and it was nice.

Theatre of Dreams.............in every sense of the word. Arguably, the most popular football destination in the world. The stars are born and history is written here, a little ironic considering the fortunes of the football team now. The Old Trafford is an excellent place to visit. You might be able to access the stadium premises on an event day - it could be any day, while you have to pay for guided tour packages, one of which takes you to the soccer ground, or close to it. If you have still time left in the day, the enticing other attractions of the Manchester are unlikely to disappoint you.

Best stadium in the world, what a place !
Make sure to take the tour where you’ll see the dressing room of the players , trophies , cafe where Sir Alex and the couches sat , press conference room and a thorough tour in the bench . Also , make sure to see the mega store which is really amazing , if you are a member you’ll get 10% discount which is really worth it.
It is pretty easy to arrive there , a bus can drop you off just by the stadium.
And of course, attending a match would be something you’ll never forget in your whole life. Love you forever Man United .

Public transport drops you off a little ways from the stadium and you have to walk a bit. The closer you get the more excitement you get by seeing the iconic white structure of Old Trafford. You are greeted with the huge wall of the stadium, people selling food and merchandise outside. I got in pretty early and the stadium is massive. I sat in the highest section of the Sir Alex Ferguson stand and the roof covering makes you feel super enclosed and far away. I did not enjoy this part of the stadium. Atmosphere is solid but not the best.

Even as a non Manchester United fan, a must-see stadium, truly a historic stadium that has been in the same location from the late 1800s. Very impressive museum which an unbelievable trophy cabinet. Visiting Old Trafford, the iconic home of Manchester United, was an unforgettable experience. The sheer magnitude of the stadium, combined with the rich history displayed in the museum, made it a football enthusiast's paradise. The stadium tour provided insight into the club's glorious past, allowing fans to walk in the footsteps of legends. The atmosphere on the Sir Matt Busby Way was electric, and witnessing the Stretford End in full voice was a highlight. We did the museum tour, and pre-booked lunch in the Red Cafe.
The tour is very good, with plenty of opportunities for photos.
It is well worth booking the Red Cafe for lunch. I had the fish and chips, which was a good size portion. I upgraded my eldest daughter's child pizza to an adult for £5, and it was worth doing - she's 13. The hot and chips for my youngest daughter, 10, was a good size.
Disappointed that the women's team featured so little in the museum, but one the staff told be there will be a purpose built exhibition for the women's team coming either end of 2024 or beginning 2025.
Well worth it.

I recently attended the Manchester United vs Chelsea match on May 25th, 2023, at Old Trafford. It was my second time attending a match at Old Trafford, and I was just as impressed as I was the first time.
The stadium is absolutely massive, with a capacity of over 75,000 people. The atmosphere is electric, and the fans are incredibly passionate. I was lucky enough to be sitting in the Stretford End, which is known as the "singing section" of the stadium. The fans in the Stretford End were absolutely incredible, and they created an amazing atmosphere throughout the match.
The match itself was a close one, with both teams creating chances. In the end, Manchester United won 4-1, and the fans erupted into celebration. It was an incredible experience, and I would highly recommend attending a match at Old Trafford if you ever have the chance.

Old Trafford, the iconic home of Manchester United, is a cathedral of football that stirs the souls of fans and leaves an indelible mark on all who visit. Stepping into this hallowed ground is like entering the heart of footballing history.
The stadium's grandeur is evident from the moment you approach its iconic facade. The "Theatre of Dreams" lives up to its name, as it has been the stage for countless legendary moments in the sport. The statues of Sir Matt Busby and Sir Alex Ferguson, two of the most revered figures in football history, serve as a reminder of the club's rich legacy.
Inside, the atmosphere is electric. The roar of the crowd, the singing, and the sheer passion of the supporters create an experience that is nothing short of magical. Old Trafford transcends being just a sports venue; it's a place of pilgrimage for football aficionados.
The museum and stadium tour offer a deep dive into the history of Manchester United. It's an opportunity to walk in the footsteps of legends, explore the trophies, and understand the club's remarkable journey.
The stadium itself is a marvel of engineering, with seating offering great views of the pitch from every angle. The Stretford End, in particular, is an epicenter of energy and devotion, where the fervent fans create an atmosphere that's second to none.
Old Trafford's significance extends beyond the pitch. The "United Trinity" statue, honoring George Best, Denis Law, and Sir Bobby Charlton, is a touching tribute to the club's storied past.
In a city defined by its footballing heritage, Old Trafford stands as a symbol of excellence and ambition. For fans, a visit here is nothing short of a dream come true, and for football enthusiasts, it's a chance to witness the sport at its very best. Old Trafford is more than just a stadium; it's a place where the spirit of Manchester United and the beauty of football come alive.

Visited Old Trafford for a Manchester United game and had a fantastic experience. The stadium is impressive, steeped in history, and despite the team's performance not being at its best, the atmosphere was electric. The organization for getting to and from the stadium, both before and after the match, was top-notch. A must-visit for football enthusiasts!

Old Trafford is still the most magnificent and awe-inspiring stadium in the country. Walking down Sir Matt Busby Way and seeing the monumental frontage of the ground still takes my breath way even after over a thousand match day visits. It is looking a little ragged in places so does need a little refurbishment but it's still the one ground that all other fans want to visit. A lot of that of course is due to the fantastic United supporters who create the unforgettable atmosphere and always show respect to past heroes.

Done stadium tour which was good. Wasn't to impressed by the staff during the trophy room exhibition part to be honest thought they could interact more with customers. But to be honest I wasn't there to see that I just wanted to see the pitch and changing rooms. The 2 gentleman who took us for that part are a credit to the club really nice answered any questions and were very knowledgeable. Had a good laugh also which helps. Was worth the money and I ticked another stadium off my list. S

As a family, we went on a Tour of the grounds and museum. This is by far the best experience I could have wished for as my first visit to Old Trafford. The stadium is not as run down as the media make out...yes it needs a few bits sorted here and there, but it's a fabulous piece of history. The guides took us on a fabulous whisk around in around 75mins...and disabled access to locations were not an issue. This is built far VERY disabled friendly as there were 2 that required assistance on the group. The guides were fabulous and great interaction with the kids too. I've a few photos of the museum and grounds included ... Not to spoil this too much for avid visitors!

I took my son for the stadium tour and was very pleasantly surprised. Thorough and interesting, friendly and knowledgeable guides. Many, great photo opportunities.
Please arrive early to give you enough time to see the many exhibits in the museum. We arrived at the advised time but we could have spent a lot longer there. I appreciate that you can go back in after the tour but we had walked enough by then.

If you are a Manchester United fan it's definitely the place to be. Beautiful stadium 🏟 and the mega store is brilliant for men, women and children. Just a few minutes walk from the tram stop.

Done the stadium tour at Old Trafford and would highly recommend anyone who has the chance to do it. The guides were fantastic, the museum is is stunning with so much memorabila, photos and information. The history of the club seeps out of the stadium and was great to be pitchside, in the tunnel and dug-outs and in the changing room. Superb value for money and an absolute pleasure to do this, first class!!!

One of the best stadium atmosphere on matchday here if you sit near to singing section.
Would recommend to reach few hours before if you would like to take pics or get autographs from the players.
Should visit atleast once.
