Restaurant
The Waterfront is a historical establishment adorned with reclaimed wood, brick, and stone flags. Its bar boasts an impressive vaulted design. The pub offers a diverse menu that differs from the ordinary pub fare, featuring delectable options. Despite being very busy, the wait for ordering and serving food was worth it. Patrons can enjoy their drinks by the water in the picturesque Barton Marina surroundings while taking advantage of ample outdoor seating.
Stopped here for lunch as it had been recommended. We were not disappointed. A lovely venue in a stunning location with plenty of disabled parking. Wheelchair accessible entrance. A warm welcome from the friendly staff. Despite not having booked we were able to get a suitable table for a Wheelchair user. Quick and efficient service. Although there were a lot of diners were were served promptly and the food came out without delay. A good range of food and drinks including daily specials. Plenty of staff on duty who were attentive and good humoured. Excellent washrooms. Competitively priced for the quality and quantity.

We were only here for drinks and cake🧁 🍰 the cake, drinks and service were great though. Staff were friendly and accommodating. I had a lovely baileys hot chocolate and a bakewell tart, neither disappointed 😊 There is plenty of seating for food and drinks. The toilets were clean and well maintained as were all the areas in the bar and restaurant. Its worth popping in for a drink if you're at Barton Marina anytime 👍

Not a great choice of food on the menu but what we did have tasted nice. Not many options for desert either, but what we did have tasted nice. It could just be a post covid situation so this hopefully might improve. Staff were friendly and seemed to be glad to be there and were as attentive as you need them to be. Prices for food were up there but presentation of the food made it look special. All in all, the place suited our purposes that evening for dinner.

We hired the Crow's Nest at the Waterfront for a Celebration of Life. Debbie and Shelley were very accommodating when we called in on the off-chance to look at the room. Communication was very clear and we had plenty of information to decide what we wanted. On the day, the room was set up exactly as requested and looked beautiful - many guests commented on how nice the venue was. The buffet was good and the team were busy topping it up before anything ran out. Again, guests had lots of compliments for the food. We're very happy we chose the Crow's Nest.

Great place for a visit, paths to walk, specialised shops, an art gallery, paint a pot for children, a small cinema, and an excellent foodie pub with table only service. Great staff, quick service, Great Food. Free parking.

A really nice pub at the marina, lovely food and a great outdoor area if you have a young family (not allowed inside the pub with children under 5) wasn't an issue for us as we booked one of the outside pods which are fab, and heated! Definitely worth a visit ☺️ and the staff are more than helpful!

Best pizza ever, thin crust, got a veggie burger as well but wasn't good enough, such like the Indian way cooked green stuff. Updated a year later - many things not available from menu, disappointed. Never for food at this place anymore .

An eatery set in the Marina, its good quality food served by attentive staff and lots of them. I recommend trying the desserts very good indeed. Relaxing friendly environment.

Fabulous place to relax with a beer overlooking the marina! We've just enjoyed the best fish & chips ever! We went large! The batter was crispy and the fish was fresh! Absolutely gorgeous!! Strongly recommend it! 👌 😋 All of the staff were polite and friendly! Well done - 5 stars from Nigel and Claire 😊

Always enjoy coming to this pub. Food is good and reasonably priced. The cakes on the bar (not on the dessert menu) let the side down recently. We travelled 20 mins to the Marina for coffee and cakes only to find that the bar cakes looked lovely but taste like what you'd expect wrapped in cellophane from Poundland. Couldn't finish my muffin. Would love to see some better quality, less processed cakes!!

We've just had my birthday dinner here and I must say compliments to the chef. My partners salmon meal was lovely (her words) and my chicken pizza was extremely nice. They surprised me with a birthday drink which I was not expecting, so thank you. This is the first time that we've been here, but it will not be the last. Thank you...

Absolute amazing historical place.. beautiful for a romantic dinner or just a light casual drink with friends. The staff were friendly enough and the service was great however the price was only thing that I was a little bit saddened about over £15 for a meal is a little bit too much. Would love to visit again though sometime

Indian restaurant
I had a delightful experience at Little India, an Indian restaurant located near Whycnor. I ordered a takeaway while traveling back from the NEC and was impressed by their efficient service. Although they offered delivery, I chose to collect my order as it was more convenient. The restaurant was bustling with activity, which is understandable given the quality of their food.
Amazing starter! Loved it and the main courses were maybe the best Indian we have ever had. Can't wait to go back.
Sarah Tredger — Google review
Fantastic food and the service is second to none. They always so friendly and welcoming and the dishes are full of flavour. Well worth the trip and we will definitely be coming back after eating here a few times already.
Simon Lee — Google review
Overcharged. Ordered a takeaway which we collected. Their menu states 10% discount on take away collections but when presented with the bill it didn't include the reduction (had this been the case we would have opted for the free delivery). I quizz it at the time and was told that it was correct so I paid it. When I got back home I checked the menu and just as suspected we paid full price. It wouldn't have been a great amount maybe £4-£5 but it's the principle of the matter. Don't offer 10% discount of you arn't going to honour it. It encourages people to buy from you but does you no favours when it looks like you are being underhand. Especially when a customer queries it, don't just shrug it off thinking their won't be any backlash - because of this we won't be returning in a hurry. Shame really as the food was very nice. Would have been better to check and amend before taking my payment and no answering the phone mid way through. These little things don't reflect well. Also this place doesn't give you free poppadoms and relish like all other Indians we use.
GWG Williams — Google review
Well what can I say? If I could give it more than 5 stars I would! First time going to this restaurant. It's also the first time I've been to an Indian restaurant. Omg I am so impressed! Good job we booked in advance. It was very busy in the restaurant. There were also people queueing inside and out for take away. We were seated straight away. Napkins were taken off the table and laid on our laps and drink orders taken. Food was ordered and the starter was out within 10 minutes along with poppadoms and dips, including an orange coloured mint dip which was delicious. Main course was served within a few minutes of our starters being eaten. The waiters took the time to tell us about the food we ordered etc. I ordered a korma and the waiter told me a way his family make it. It was interesting to listen to. We made chit chat with them and asked if they celebrated Eid yesterday. Each member of staff were always busy and very friendly with each other and us. They didn't stop. They were always moving and busy. I don't think I saw one member of staff stand still the entire time we were there. The food was fantastic. The cauliflower bhaji was lovely and fragrant. I cannot fault a single thing tonight. At the end after our meal they gave us hot flannels to clean our hands and face. I have never had a service like it. I don't think I've given such a long review either!

Had a gorgeous takeaway from here this evening!.. Staying close by at Whycnor, travelling back from the NEC, so ordered enroute, and collected as we past, but they did offer delivery... A very busy place, which I can see why, sheek kebab starters, south Indian garlic chicken, chicken tikka passanda, veg pilau, bindal barghi, and cheese & onion naans were all perfect!! We love our local takeaway, and never find anywhere close to quality, but tonight we might have just found a better one!! Trouble is it's 300 mile from home 😅.. will definitely be back next time I'm the area!!

Had an incredible meal at Little india last night. Came down after hearing good things about the place and reading the wild reviews. I must say I wasn't disappointed at all. Starters were delicious along with the main course and desert. The waiters were very attentive and always tried to help even though it was very busy. Best curry I've had in years and I'll definitely be returning again pretty soon.

We were staying at Wynchor Country House and I rang up to check whether they would deliver to our apartment's. They agreed without hesitation and the food arrived in good time. The lamb Madras was absolutely superb, lots of tender lamb pieces. The mixed tandoori starter, onion bargies and Chicken Balti were also very good. Despite poor phone signals the driver made great efforts to keep us updated and I met him outside to receive food and pay the cash. The driver was excellent and polite to deal with. Cannot recommend them enough.

Mixed bag in this place......firstly the food is absolutely first rate, hot and well presented. However, the service or, should I say server was incredibly rude. An older member of the party was struggling pronouncing the dish they wanted to order. Instead of helping her with this, he merely rolled his eyes, sighed and showed no patience at all. The whole ordering thing was very rushed and we felt pressured to decide on what to order. Obviously he missed the customer service module at waitering college! After the meal, the table was cleared in an instant and you got the impression they wanted you out so the table could be used for another booking. Shame really as the food was fabulous.
Steve Pullan — Google review
One of the best Indian restaurants in the country. Excellent food, perfectly prepared and very attentive staff. The menu offers traditional and new dishes. Note: if you want to dine in the restaurant, you WILL need to make a reservation - it is so good, it is always booked (always a good sign at a restaurant !)
Marc Smith — Google review
Nice place. Had a good atmosphere. Felt extremely rushed when ordering food. Asked for popadums but we had to order everything at once! When food was served, I burnt my fingers on a plate that was handed to me. A waiter reached over my plate with a drink & spilt coke in my dinner. Some nan breads were undercooked. Curry’s were “ok”, a bit bland & nothing special my any means. I had lamb shank & it didn’t wow me at all. Even the standard dishes were below par. All our group were very disappointed as we’d heard really good things about this place but felt very underwhelmed when we left. Certainly won’t be hurrying back
Craig Taylor — Google review
The food is exceptional but because of this, its extremely busy. Had a long wait for our table to become vacant but once seated, service was pretty prompt.

Absolutely brilliant. Hard to find a better curry. Despite living away from the area we make sure we come here at least annually; it’s that good.

The Three Horseshoes is a vibrant pub located in a lively village. It offers three guestrooms with private bathrooms and a restaurant that serves both à la carte and light dishes. The establishment provides a delightful dining experience, where one can savor delicious meals prepared to perfection. Their Sunday lunch options are particularly noteworthy, with scrumptious roast beef dinners accompanied by perfectly cooked vegetables and an array of choices.
Had the Sunday lunch here on the 3rd of April. My hubby + I both ordered the roast beef dinner. The food was delicious + the vegetables were cooked perfectly with lots of choice. Hubby had apple crumble + custard + he enjoyed it 😋 Staff courteous + efficient.

Looking for a brilliant village local pub with really well-kept beer and good wine? Great, you've found one. Looking for a pub where you can have really good, tasty, simple bar meals by an open fire? Great, you've found one. Looking for a restaurant that does high-end, innovative gastro food with a focus on local ingredients and a rotating specials menu? You've found that too. An absolute gem of a place, becoming a regular haunt for my wife and I and our little 3 year old who always gets a warm reception for an evening treat. Great staff, too.

Spent one of the best evenings ever at the Shoes last night. Everything was just perfect. We took advantage of the 2 Steaks and a bottle of wine for £30 and it proved to be an absolute bargain. The steak was simply amazing, cooked to perfection. The atmosphere was superb with Dave at his all time best. I don't think we have laughed so much for a long time. Thank you for such a wonderful evening.

Just went in for a drink. Bar area a bit basic but early doors locals were enjoying there drinks. Not cheap as most pubs in Barton aren't. Like most pubs a major upgrade is needed. Can't comment on food but it seems popular with locals. Will probably visit again as the beer is good but not cheap at 4.20 a pint. Landlord was very friendly and welcoming.

Very rude and uninterested staff. Basically couldn’t be bothered with us. We had to keep asking for drinks and felt in the way. We couldn’t see the menu it was so dark. Food was lukewarm and four of us were sick after eating. We couldn’t eat much of the meal because it was cold. Wouldn’t go again. Very disappointed.we came on Sunday 10th December with our family. The girl who served us should have been trained to do the job properly. When serving 8 people perhaps a tray should be used? Or all three of the girls serving help. It’s basic common sense. Food should be served hot especially pork. Food very bland cold and tasteless. When I had to keep asking for gravy sauces etc she couldn’t cope and disappeared. Manager’s fault for using young inexperienced girls and not training them.

Went for Sunday roast for a big birthday as stopping nearby. The Christmas menu was only one available, still Christmas Dinner is essentially a Sunday roast whether it was an excuse to put up the price or if the Sunday roast is always over £15 we don't know as never been before. I had turkey, nice turkey. Hubby had pork, nice too he said. Roast potatoes OK but very difficult get a fork into, bit too crispy! Veg squares of carrot, ok; roast parsnips, yuck. Even son in law and our daughter didn't like them and they both normally like parsnips which to be fair I do not. Red cabbage, not sure what had been doing to the red cabbage but none of us enjoyed the taste. Sprouts well you always get sprouts with Christmas Dinner, sadly we don't really like them very much, nothing fancy done to them, just boiled sprouts. Sigh. The desserts weren't to my taste either, all seemed to have some kind of added alcohol, so a no from me. I had the small portion of dinner and although the turkey tasted nice there wasn't much of it really, stuffing was hard and overdone, the one tiny pig in blanket you needed a good eye to spot it, it was so small. The service was really slow, the people serving nice, don't get me wrong they were friendly, helpful and smiley. It just was a long wait for mains. The walk to the toilets my daughter reported to be an expedition as it was very cold! She had been warned by her dad that it was freezing as the door stood wide open, she put her coat on to go and came back with it clutched tightly around her! Thankfully I was saved from the trip as I didn't need to use the facilities for which I was very grateful. The meal was overpriced, the £7.95 or thereabouts for my smaller portion would have been a fairer price for the meal served. Luckily we don't live in the area, we were stopping nearby so won't visit again.

Popped into The Three Horseshoes on the way back home from Barton Marina (a mile away). It was a lovely roast dinner at a very good price. A shared roast for 2 people was £29.99 with beef, chicken, and pork with the trimmings. Staff very pleasant. As the weather was nice, we were able to eat in the courtyard at the back as we had our dog, too, and a bowl of water was provided.

This local pub was ran by a couple for years and always had great food, it was sold around 2020 and was never the same…. Until now, pleasant staff on arrival, it is a limited menu choice but what was on offer was of high quality and our party of 3 were extremely happy, the manager made sure we were happy on serving and again 10mins later, particularly good as this is usually forgotten these days. Cracking pint of Guinness served AT THE RIGHT TEMPERATURE, well worth a visit !

Takeout Restaurant
Thai Marina Restaurant is an incredibly impressive eatery with exceptional cuisine. Their Thai dishes are unparalleled, leaving a lasting impression on one's taste buds. The presentation of their meals is superb, and even the carrots are aesthetically designed. Moreover, the food is not only well-cooked but also packed with delightful flavors. The staff provides professional and attentive customer service, accommodating all requests graciously. The manager deserves special appreciation for accommodating last-minute reservations.

This is a lovely Thai restaurant that has some amazing customer service. The restaurant inside looks actually incredible with some amazing decor and water features. Just had a wonderful meal here. Fantastic flavours and presentation. We ordered the set menu which was plentiful. I ate way too much and wish I had done what a neighbouring couple did and boxed the items they hadn’t eaten into boxes to take home. The ambience, decor and staff were all excellent.

Fantastic meal, we went here for my daughter’s 21st and I can’t begin to tell you how happy we were with the food, service, venue. The staff were so friendly and it was a pleasure to be there. We eat out quite a lot and we generally have quite a few average meals, but on this occasion every member of the party (from 83 years old to 18 years old) all said how much they enjoyed their lunch. Will definitely be returning very soon

What a gem! This is hands down the nicest Thai I've ever had. The food was beautifully presented, good portion sizes and simply delicious. A lot of the dishes had the chilli sign next to them, which worried me because I'm not good with heat but I chanced it for a dish with one chilli sign and it was the perfect spice. The kind of spice that adds flavour and does no harm. I'd highly recommend visiting this place if you're in the area. It's also in a really beautiful setting on the waterfront. The staff were friendly, service was quick and price was very good value for money.

To say the food was 'good' here, is to do it a great disservice. The food here is --PHENOMENAL--. We had Set Menu B and gosh it was to die for! The starter sampler was so good, followed by a soup that knocked it out of the park, and the mains were equally incredible! This easily rates one of the top ten meals I've ever had out. The balance of flavors, the way they change as you take each bite, the freshness. Just gorgeous! And the atmosphere, wow! Very comfortable and loved the theming. It's OTT and classy at the same time. We've just learned it's about 45 minutes from our house-- and that is well, WELL worth it!

Fun & Games
The Red Carpet Cinema & Café Bar is a luxurious venue with cozy theaters showcasing the latest films. It also features a café-bar serving continental cuisine. The establishment has an elegant ambiance and is impeccably clean. The service is prompt, the food is exceptional, and the staff members are friendly and accommodating. Additionally, it offers screenings of theater and ballet performances, making it an ideal choice for those interested in such events. Despite its small size, the cinema exudes charm and tranquility.
My parents and I had a wonderful afternoon at the Red Carpet Cinema. We ate a delicious meal served by attentive staff. This was followed by a movie in the comfortable atmospheric Cinema. A delightful way to spend a Sunday.
tony yates — Google review
I like the Red Carpet. I've been going there for some years, but... no qualms with the food or film quality, £75 for a 2-course meal (including tonic water and small beer) plus seats for 2 people in the Big Screen is a helluva expensive night out - isn't it? And to be honest, the chairs aren't as comfortable or flexible as the tilting ones they have elsewhere now for the same or similar price. Net result? I'll only be visiting in future for a special occasion and probably when it's convenient wrt location and film times.
STEVE REYNOLDS — Google review
Staff for the cinema were pleasant, we watched Indiana Jones 5. The whole meal deal reads more complicated than it is. There seems to be no price differentiation for under 15, as my 14 yo paid full price. We paid around £67 for Cinema ticket and 2 course lunch. It is on the more expensive side and the food was not so cost reflective. My pulled pork burger had the microwaved zing to it which wasn't great. The lemon Eton also left a weird taste. The strangest element is the manner in which dogs roam the restaurant by all too confident owners who announce "He doesn't bite" If I'm spending £67 for lunch how about we insist on dogs being on a leash and not sniffing around the ankles of paying guests. Why are owners allowed to bring dogs into a place that serves food anyway. Hygiene hello. This is something that the Dog owners should also consider in respect of other people's enjoyment.

Quirky and appealing are two words that apply to the Red Carpet Cinema and Cafe. Lovely internal design serving a basic but good menu in the cafe and a quirky little cinema is attached also, all set within the grounds of the delightful Barton Marina. Well worth a visit.

I visited the Red Carpet on five separate occasions, and so far, I've yet to have anything less than a wonderful experience. The establishment is clean, well decorated and has a loverly atmosphere (whatever that means). The service is quick, the food excellent and the staff are helpful and friendly. We visit the cinema to watch recording of theatre/ballet performances and it's perfect for that purpose. The cinema is small, but quaint and quite. Would recommend to anyone.

I love films and won't go anywhere else. The staff are always friendly. It's always lovely and clean. I really like that the meals are the same price so when sharing the bill it's not a big thing. Probably one of the best small fish and chips I have ever had.
Caroline Mills — Google review
I've been to the Red Carpet Cinema lots of times now and I enjoy the experience each time. It's a brilliantly run small cinema with a 'Big' screen and a 'Little' screen. My friends and family enjoy their visits too. From booking your seat to watching the film is an easy process. We recently watched Taylor Swift, which was nearly 3 hours long! The seats are so comfy you don't realise how long you've been sat down until you need a toilet break. The staff are always very polite and helpful. You can also eat there and get a deal when you buy a cinema ticket and book a table together, the food is very good. I highly recommend The Red Carpet for a great experience.

Found this place by accident when looking for a cinema showing Wicked little letters. OMG what a find! Reserved cinema seats and a table for a meal before hand, a deal to be had when booking both. Food was fab, service 1st class then amble into a small cinema with a drink and comfy seats. I almost don't want to tell anyone how good this is, as I'd like to keep it my own special place!

love the small cinema gives a very nice vibe compared to the big chain cinemas. Had a very nice Sunday lunch after a film showing which was very good. Service was a little slow during peak time, so be prepared, it didn't effect us as we'd seen film first, but if you are seeing a film after then consider timings. We will definitely return.

It's a while since we visited but I am happy to say it's as great as ever! We had the lunch & cinema ticket deal and both the food and the cinema experience were fantastic. It's reminded us that we need to come more often. Mainly because we would hate this great little cinema to go the way of some of the big chains. Keep up the good work guys!

Food was excellent, much improved. The Eton Mess melted in the mouth. Our waitress was very attentive and made sure we went in to the cinema in time for the film. Found this place quite by accident and thought we would book for our Wedding Anniversary. We had a lovely time. The atmosphere is really special. Food out of this world. Cinema seat very comfortable and a great film. Could not have asked for more. Definitely will be back.

The cinema experience was very good and we enjoyed the film. However, the food experience was not so good. We ordered the fish and chips, which was OK, but the Moroccan lamb salad was not very pleasant. The lamb was a cheap cut and very fatty, a few salad leaves and a flat bread that was so hard we could not cut it. We mentioned it to one of the staff who did not respond, definite customer service training needed.

This was our first visit and had a lovely lunch in the cafe bar. I had the club sandwich, and this was delicious. My husband had the chicken tikka and salad with a side order of chunky chips. We went to watch Back to black and what a lovely cinema very cosy, seats were nice and relaxing, had a lovely whippy ice cream, we don't go the cinema much and this was a great experience, we will be back

Another great evening at The Red Carpet! A fantastic film in one of the comfiest, cosiest cinemas around, a tasty meal from the varied menu, with a good selection of drinks, and excellent, friendly service from the our first greeting, and throughout the whole night. We went for the “film & food” option, as it’s just a great all-round experience, and good value, but this place is still a winner if you just fancy catching a film, or want some good food at any time of the day. The online booking system is so simple (plus you don’t pay for anything until you arrive), with text and email updates. A regular email/newsletter keeps you updated on all new releases, menus, day classes, and offers. This is a very well-sorted, joined-up small business, that takes customer service, and creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere, very seriously, and it’ll continue to get my support. As an alternative to soulless, corporate multiplexes, we’re really lucky to have an independent cinema like this on our doorstep, and The Red Carpet is so much more than just a cinema!

I have recently been visiting the red carpet cinema and cafe bar more and more and each time I have visited the staff have been wonderful and extremely warm and welcoming. The place is very clean especially the toilets and screens and it has such an adorable aesthetic. Not to mention how tasty the food is! As someone with food allergies and restrictions the staff were extremely helpful in assisting me navigate the menu and really went out of their way to reassure me of the ingredients and modified the menu for me. honestly couldn't recommend this place enough and have already recommend it to friends and family who share the exact same sentiment.

As ever, a great visit to The Red Carpet… I regularly attend on my own and always feel comfortable. This time I had a tea in the cafe and read my book before the film. The fact you can take chocolate eggs* and wine in with you, is a bonus! *other snacks are available. As an independent I’d support them anyway, but it’s so welcoming how could I not?

We recently saw Wicked Little Letters at the Red Carpet. It was a super film in a terrific movie theatre. We've only just discovered this cracking venue but haven't yet tried the movie and meal combo, but maybe one of these days we will. I'd certainly recommend the movie and the Red Carpet Cinema. Update: I went to see Back to Black and had lunch after. It was delightful and good value. My veggie meal with a side of chips was enough to keep me going until teatime. Lovely day out 😊

It’s a lovely and different way to enjoy a new film in the quaint cinema in a lovely location. If the weather is nice can also extend your day out with a walk around Barton marina. The food was lovely but a clearer guide on the pricing would be better before getting to the cinema as each meal is a different cost. The bottle of soft drinks could be a larger volume for the price.

Great Cafe and Cinema. We had the full English breakfast, it was cooked well and there was plenty to eat. The service was excellent, friendly staff and the food arrived quickly. It was the first time visiting this Cinema and it was a great experience. The decor and atmosphere really make it. I will definitely book again and maybe try the lunch menu next time.
