Hinagdanan Cave

Mentioned on
Nature & Parks
Caverns & Caves
Hinagdanan Cave is a well-known limestone cave that features magnificent stalactites and offers tours to visitors. It also has a lagoon where tourists can swim for an additional fee of 75 pesos. A local guide provides the opportunity to explore bat caves in the hills, which is an experience most tourists miss out on. However, it can be crowded with vans full of people taking pictures and vendors outside selling their wares.
Very good to experience! The cave water i cold but tolerable. There are life vest you can borrow and experience is good. There is a fee. Usually this is included in tours but I recommend to rent motorcycle or car to go there so you can swim around. Place also have shops
Ern Privado — Google review
The cave is beautiful. However, it is very touristy and vans full of people come in posing for pictures everywhere, which is not a bad thing, but be prepared for a lot of loud talking echoing off the chamber. You will be bombarded by vendors outside as well. I am worried about conservation of this beautiful cave, but it is worth it to pay the extra 75 pesos and swim there.
Race Bannon — Google review
The entrance fee is a bit much for a small cave like this. Plus additional if you will swim. We did swim for an hour and the electricity went off. No generator but the hole in the ceiling was our source of light as well as the lighted candles along the path walk and stairs. Other than that we enjoy swimming the cool water.
Aimee Lim — Google review
100% need to visit.. bring your bathing clothes! The water is brilliant clear and just the right temperature. The cave is almost dead. I think the tourists are the hell for the cave... but the cave is heaven for tourists. Visit!
Rene Thöne — Google review
Recently opened from the pandemic, the Hinagdanan Cave is unique in that many swifts (yup, the one that made bird nest soup popular) call home here. Descent the steep stairs at the 1m cave entrance, visitors will share flying space with those creature zipping pass you! The cave was accidentally discovered by a landowner. The cave name means “laddered” which reflect the method he used to enter the cave. The beautiful cave has naturally lighted cavern with a aqua lagoon and still live stalactites and stalagmites that made it interesting.
Rude Toy — Google review
The cave itself is small but nicely lit, along with a lot of stalagmites and other geographical features. There's also a natural pool you can swim in. The funny and enthusiastic tour guides are what makes the overall experience like no other! Would recommend going here.
Perci Donelle F. Hufana — Google review
I went in the cave but did not swim. Was there primarily for a shoot. I dipped my foot just to get a feel of the water, it wasn't the cold as I expected it to be which is good. Notes to consider though. There is only 1 way in. So the entrance is the exit. Its steep concrete steps with low headroom. But the administrators have complete signs around the area to give warning to be careful when you go down/up because of the low headroom. There's a short concrete path leading to the pool. Careful because its wet. But the concrete path is nicely done with steel handrails which you can hold on to. Nice place to cool down but cannot stay long because there are no areas to lounge from. The pool is surrounded by rocks where you can temporarily drop your stuff but not really stay a long time. Some rocks are sharp because it is a natural cave.
cher redoblado — Google review
there is a usual wait considering how small it is inside the cave so it's good that they have a crowd control. For someone not into adventure, I would actually recommend this place, it'll take a few steps and boom, you're already inside the cave. Expect that the place is a bit crowded inside since it is allowed to swim inside. the only challenge here is the comfort room because, its too small considering the number of tourists that go here.
Aireen — Google review
The cave have these mesmerizing stalactites and stalagmites formations that have formed over centuries. Inside, you will find a natural pool of crystal-clear, turquoise water, perfect for swimming and relaxing. The place holds so much history about Bohol and is well maintained.
Gene Colleen Tan — Google review
Guides are experienced with tourists and gadgets. Place is also kept clean and tidy. Make sure you go before 4pm if you want to swim in the pool though
Jay Galgana — Google review
Small cave area, not worth it if not going for a swim inside.. Though even if you opt to swim (for an additional fee), you'll be swimming with other people as well. Still a great place to unwind after a long hot day outside.
Gerard Umali — Google review
It was a decent experience checking out the cave. The cave is pretty small, but it's still really cool to see. There are lots of stalactites and stalagmites, and the underground pool is amazing. The water is crystal clear, and it's awesome to swim in. The only downside is that it can get pretty crowded, so try to go early in the day if you can. Overall, it's definitely worth a visit if you're in Bohol.
kimedia — Google review
The place looks like you've traveled in the Middle Earth. You may feel the heat underneath coz it has 3 narrow holes for air circulation. I didn't try to swim but the water (ocean) is cool to the touch.
norman Santos — Google review
I like this place, Entrance fee 75 Pesos for swimming. Clean and fresh sea water. I recommend this place. If you need life jacket they also provide you free
Nasrullah Yılmaz — Google review
The place is good. You can swim in the cold waters of the cave. Life jackets were provided and life guard was also present in the area. What makes this experience great is the friendly, enthusiastic, and accommodating tour guides. They’re funny and good at taking pictures. I suggest that you get guides and swim here for the complete experience. Pasalubong centers and souvenir shops were also present outside. They’re cheaper here compared to other sites in Bohol.
Geoff Garreth Perez — Google review
A nice overall experience and fantastic lighting! First time swimming underneath stalactites! The water is connected to the ocean underground so it’s a little salty but most of it is fresh water while the temperature is quite nice! Little sad you have to pay a little extra fee to be allowed to swim there. And there’s little birds that fly in and out of the cave that might leak their excrement into the water… but so far we’re all healthy.
Tim van Treeck — Google review
The staff was nice and it was easy to get in. Plenty of parking for my motor bike and for the tour vans. 150 pesos to get in if you swim, otherwise it is 55. Once you're in it is all one ave there are no other places to explore. The water was not too cold so it was fine for swimming and was mildly salty. Considering the number of people swimming in the small pool it was fine. All in all this is a skip unless you have 30 mins to spend and Nothing else queued up. There was nothing that overwhelming about the place.
Brett Farmer — Google review
Super cool cave. The bats flying around everywhere made it feel like I was in a batman movie. The water inside the cave is swimmable but pretty cold. If you go, be prepared for the people outside the cave to aggressively try and sell you stuff.
Mikey Fort — Google review
There were numerous stalactites inside the cave. We never had the chance to swim but it's amazing to see the pool-like size swimming area inside Hinagdanan Cave. Pasalubongs are also cheaper there.
Shiela Vergara — Google review
High the humidity inside. Not hot but you will be wet. If you like the cold water you can buy swimming ticket. Not too big the cave.
Ádám Kittlinger — Google review
This place is a joke, small, smelly and overcrowded. The entrance fee is 50pp per person and the cost of swimming is 75pp per person (I wouldn't swim here even if it was free). I would suggest skipping this place, don't waste your time and money. Just because this place has a name doesn't mean it's worth visiting. I was in and out of the cave literally in 3 minutes, nothing compared to other caves like the one in Siquijor for example.
Andrea — Google review
Great! Cool choice because it’s super hot to go to the beach. Went there around 10 so not too many tourist. If it’s crowded, you are only allowed for an hour but if not, you can swim as long as you like. The water’s a little cold, perfect for summer!

South Farm Panglao Bohol

Mentioned on
Farm
South Farm Panglao Bohol is a popular destination for tourists visiting the island province of Bohol. The attraction offers a unique fusion of nature and culture, showcasing lush greenery, organic farming practices, and traditional Filipino architecture. Visitors can explore the farm's various amenities including swimming pools, treehouses, and bike rentals while also learning about local customs through cultural activities such as cooking classes and handicraft workshops.
As there are not many places for children at the area this one is a must if you visit here with kids. We spent half a day with our kids (2,4,6 years old) and they had a great time. The place is well maintained and a really nice peace of land. The kids loved feeding the animals, ride on the horses and even just strolling around. There is a nice restaurant with a great view. The entrance fee is very cheap and includes 100 p for drinks or food. Highly recommend.

The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, making you feel right at home. Whether you're looking for relaxation or adventure, South Farm has it all.

So nice! Can feed various animals, rode horse or a carabao, do fishing,.. Kids love it!! Also try the traditional restaurant, it's nice.

Pretty big place full of plants and animals. Price is reasonable. For 198 pesos each, the 100 pesos is consumable when you eat at their cafe or when you buy souvenir. Place is clean except for animal feces, it is a farm though. Should be expected. Anyways there are lots of things to see. Riding the horse and feeding the animals is free as well, which I highly appreciate. The animals look taken care of. However, there were dead fish floating. It was a bit uncomfortable to see. It’s perfect for kids or for all ages! The place is wide open, make sure to bring an umbrella and hydrate yourself from time to time. Would be great if they have umbrellas to lend. Would also suggest offering a tour guide so they can explain each area.
JC — Google review
I will recommend it to all, with 198 pesos entrance fee you will see lots of rabbit, you can feed them same as goat. You can experience horse ride for a few minutes (if you are a first time rider) and take pictures. The area are so wide, we go there at around 10am, the weather was so hot, I suggest you can go there in the afternoon so you can take pictures nicely.
April Lyn Vivero-Romero — Google review
This is my favorite attraction in Bohol, and we've been to the popular ones :) You get to fish, ride horse, feed farm animals and see organic produce. Staff were all helpful and you can see that they care for their animals. I would suggest to visit and dine at South Palms Resort (same owner) and you may get complimentary passes for South Farm. They also have free shuttle from resort to farm.
Janua Leen Estaris — Google review
This place should be included as a tourist spot in Bohol. The ticket is priced at Php 199 (Php100 is consumable and you can use it to buy food/drink at Uma) and you can visit and enjoy the whole farm (refer to photos I've uploaded). You can even feed the animals and do horseback riding without any additional fees! It's better if you can go early in the morning (they open at 8am) so there's no crowd and you can solo the whole place and take photos without photo bombers 😅 Will definitely visit the place again
Arthur Seville — Google review
I love nature and animals, so this is another place to visit when you’re in Bohol. My photos says it all. You will enjoy the scenery, different kinds of flowers and the food are pretty good. You get to feed the rabbits and the Guinea pigs. It’s fun!

This is a must-visit if you are in Panglao and have a toddler/kids in tow. Entrance fee is 198 pesos with 100 pesos consumable in their gift shop or beverage from their store. Attractions are: -bird feeding (hand feeding) -guinea pig feeding -rabbit feeding -sheep and goat feeding -horseback riding -fishing (catch and cook) This is a walking tour, so take in consideration the time of day you plan to visit. We visit at 2pm which is very hot. They have a restaurant with a nice view but we were not able to try it.
Kix Santos — Google review
We enjoyed our visit here because the staff were so accommodating. They are the ones who encourages us to feed/interact the farm animals. Our baby really enjoyed the bunnies
Chrissy O.E. — Google review
Nice place to visit for family bonding...seeing the pigs, goats, and a lot of farm animals for livestock as well. Experience the horse back riding too aside from feeding some farm animals.
MsRaejane — Google review
Had way more fun than we expected. My highlight was the live birds eating out of your hand. Wonderful experience for children but equally so for adults. You can feed the animals and the farmers are on hand to assist with anything. You can ride the horses if under 80kg and you can fish for your dinner. There is no catch and release unfortunately and the fish is about 380 peso per kg, to cook it 500 per kg extra. They looked like about 400g fish. Yummy option for lunch I'm sure. Entrance fee is 198 each and 100 can be redeemed at Uma Cafe. Not at the prawn farm unfortunately 😔. Get a beer at Uma for your 100 and go eat a fresh fish at Prawn farm. Staff are amazing. Loved the artisan village. A must do in Bohol. You can see our full experience on our YouTube channel bryandiscoversworld. 😀
Riki Armstrong — Google review
Children seem to love this place. It’s a good diversion for a couple of hours. None of the craft activities were active when we were there and did not seem to have been recently operational. There are a few animals that are in fairly restrictive pens, such as the rabbits, goats and pigs, while others roam freely.
Phil O'Flaherty — Google review
Nice place for a walk and eat. Two restaurants one in jungle one near fishpond are really cool with rich menu. In fish pond you can catch your own meal. Kids will be happy because that can feed animals on the farm and riding a horse.
Adam Semak — Google review
Php198 per head is so worth it. Its consumable also at their restsurant. Its not a zoo ok but its a farm so expect farm animals only.a great way to introduce your toddlers to live animals. Bring water and umbrella.

Nice place I love it so much! Chill afternoon in a little and peaceful farm. Staff was very nice and I felt in love with small rabbit, Guinea pigs and African birds You can catch your fish in the pound and they will cook for you the fish was deliciously cooked !

Serene and pristine; an escape from the busy street life of bohol. South farm is a part od South Palm Resort so if youre a guest of the said resort; you have a free access to it. It is nestled 5 minutes away from the resort, you can your transport through the receptionist. You can arrange a Jeep or a Van whichever is available. They have 2 restaurants,: The Uma Cafe and the Prawn Restautant. (I attached the menu for reference) Theres a lagoon sorrounded by Nipa Huts, where you can eat you ordered food. FILIPINO CUISINE served to us is good. If youre a Westerner, and ordered Pizza from the Uma cafe, dont expect too much. After our lunch, we had a leisure walk to thers mini zoo. You can feed animals as you go. We also saw there variety of organic veggies. We did pass by the pottery, weaving and blacksmith but I guess that they they werent operational. Other than that the Experience is good.

Beautiful reef with lots of fish and some corals that drops off to 20-30 meters. Clear, calm waters. Magical feeling to swim along the vertical wall and marvel at nature 🤠 This shoreline is beautiful. Go elsewhere for the beach.
Jabal Engelhard — Google review
Beautiful protected area , relatively easy access. Beautiful fish, sea snakes and coral. Several coral nurseries to repair damage done previously by dynamite fishing. Wall reef looks great for scuba as well.
Markus ?markobear1? — Google review
You pay for admission. Then you must have a guide even if you are a good swimmer (also paid). Quite a small spot. Corals almost dead, few fish. Showers in poor condition.
Frantisek Funda — Google review
Tourist trap of the worst kind. Thieves work here. We went twice over 3 days, the second time I realized my mask and snorkel "went missing" since the first visit. At the end of the second visit my yellow Fujifilm underwater camera "went missing". Both times the workers aggressively cleaned the rented area as we are leaving. They take advantage of the confusion when a group is packing up. They have a sign to watch for your belongings - thus they have a license to steal your stuff because they warned you, right? The snorkeling is good because the fish are numerous because they feed them. However the water is gross. Film on the top. Friend's face broke out with red marks. You feel gross coming out of it. You can no longer jump off into the water because they killed the coral under it by jumping so much. Not good caretakers of their chunk of the sea. Not taking care of guests - robbing them. Also we had to negotiate for 30 minutes to get in. The price is different depending on who is coming in when. Avoid.
Michael Bushe — Google review
Environmental fee, guide fee, entrance fee, all together 300P, no thank you! Ridiculous! Turned right, followed the shore road and jumped in from the abandoned house area for free. Snorkeling was great, nice wall, nice coral.

There are full South Korean tourist so they are igrone other customer sometimes. Anyway, my guide are friendly and took many picture for me and find good mask for me . I saw many fish and coral. Nice place to snoreling but its was only an hours

Wouldnt have been outstanding snorkling if the weather allowed. But it was winding and current was strong so the authorities didnt allow any snorkling. But the reef was nice and the place had good facilities.

One of the amazing places to dive and explore underwater. When I come back, hope to see the Sardines, I wasn't lucky to swim with them. I was a little bit disappointed during my visit there because my GoPro didn't work to take videos. My experience diving in Napaling is amazing. I can't forget this place. 2nd visit. This time my GoPro is working, I was swimming with the Sardines and went to Napaling Crack. This place is amazing and lovely.

Nice reef to explore various species of fish and see swarms. Entrance is kind of cheap (300 Pesos). A must go if you are around!

One of the most beautiful place in Bohol to see the sea life in just few meters deep. There is also a wall that drop right there. For snorkeling or scuba diving. For snorkeling, the entry is 100 pesos and the guide for an hour $100 after the first hour you can stay on your own. We are scuba divers and wanted snorkeling and still have to pay 100 pesos for the guide that we didn’t see. See document below. “It is a government requirement they said”
Gisela perez — Google review
Very cool place, workers were nice. My partner went snorkeling, paid 300 pesos to go in which included a guide. I paid 100 pesos to enter but didn't swim. Guide said I could still go in the water although I didn't pay for the full price which was very nice. We were able to leave and come back later if we wanted, they were open until 5 PM. They had many scuba lessons going on and families snorkeling.
