Steak house
Monkey Puzzle Beefeater is a popular pub-style chain known for its grilled meats and international favorites like fajitas. Visitors often find it to be a great dining option after a day at nearby attractions, offering satisfying meals without the high prices of other establishments. While some guests have noted that certain areas of the restaurant may be busy and service can feel rushed, others appreciate the accommodating staff and family-friendly atmosphere.
Really nice Beefeater! When here after visiting Chessington for the day and was pleasantly surprised. Wanted somewhere to eat that would fill us up and not have the extortionate prices that the park has. The food was great, although the chicken was slightly over cooked but we overlooked this. The staff where great and very friendly and polite. The menus wasn’t too badly prices and the kids 3 course mean for £5.99 was brilliant value. If we were ever this way again I’d definitely revisit.

Food was really nice, not all of the restaurant floors were open and they did seem really busy and service did seem a bit rushed. We never booked a table so we were put in front of the bar, which wasn't ideal with 3 kids and the chairs were not comfy for sitting and eating for long periods. After a few minutes of pondering, I got my phone out and booked a table, then we were moved into the restaurant table area with suitable seating. Lol! Bit silly really, would have been nice if we were asked "would you like to book a table?". Nevermind, overall experience was good and the main thing, the food was great!
Geeky Stuff — Google review
Classic British chain serving steaks, burgers and more. The restaurant itself is spacious and cosy and there is plenty of parking. As the restaurant is called beefeater I would have expected the steaks to be nice and flavourful but unfortunately it’s just nothing special. Yeah it’s bit better than Wetherspoons steak but nothing compared to a good steak restaurant. It’s ok for an occasional visit if you have one of their many vouchers but full price I would say it’s not worth it.

The Monkey Puzzle is often our go-to restaurant for family occasions as their menu caters for everyone's taste and budget. The staff, food, service and atmosphere all work together for a fuss free evening where multiple generations can meet up. Can recommend the sticky ribs, chicken and veggie burgers.

I had a really fantastic experience at Monkey Puzzle Beefeater at Chessington. We booked to have dinner as we were staying at the Premier Inn next door, unfortunately my young son began to feel unwell prior to our visit. However, Katie and Fatima were extremely helpful and understanding. They took the time to listen to the situation and explained that we could take the food to our room and not to worry. The way they both handled our concerns with empathy and professionalism was really appreciated. The food was also fantastic and we went back later in the evening for dessert! The team there are wonderful and clearly there’s a great dynamic which created a warm and friendly environment. I hope both colleagues mentioned above get the recognition they deserve as they are assets to the establishment. Thanks again!

Nice food. Good service although it was busy. Good value.

Outstanding food, drinks a little slow to arrive, table service was just right. Nice venue, fabulous interior decor. Would definitely come again.

Always super breakfast and reasonably charged for £9.99 you can eat what you like and as much as you like with tea and coffee and fruit juices all inclusive of the price. Plus as it’s self service you can choose your portion size. Lovely staff, very accommodating. I would recommend this for sure
C Poppie — Google review
Excellent service, Average food. The food is distinctly average and a little expensive. £19 for a Prawn Skewer (4 prawns) with fries and a garlic bread which was a flatbread with garlic butter. The staff, however, were excellent. It was busy but they were friendly and efficient if a little stressed.

It was a disaster. My table was waiting for more than 45 minutes to get our orders. A waitress wasn't attentive or helpful at all. We ended up checking where our foods were, and she said she would double-check, but she didn't. We found out our foods were sitting in the kitchen. Furthermore, all foods were over seasoned and dried, and even fries were not freshly fried. I can't believe we paid for that much expensive price for the awful service and food. Never go ever again
H Park — Google review
To be honest not great, staff are good but the room was cold did have to figure out the heater which took a while to slightly warm the room but still cold when I returned to room, bed seemed hot to sleep in as I think is a foam mattress very disruptive sleep as banging doors and noise carried through building. Restaurant bar (next building along had strange odour and toilets leaking onto floor which wasn't very nice.) Choose not to have the breakfast, I don't think I'd choose to stay here with my family. Honest review If it was a beer it would be a Heineken zero...

My Unpleasant Experience at Beef Eater My recent visit to Beef Eater left me profoundly disappointed. The 40-minute wait for my food set the tone for a less-than-ideal evening. Upon receiving my gammon, I was disheartened to find an abundance of fat, significantly affecting the dish's quality. Service, unfortunately, extended beyond the slow kitchen pace. My plates were never cleared, creating an untidy and unappealing dining environment. Equally concerning was the staff's apparent disregard for my presence throughout the evening, leaving me feeling neglected. To compound the issues, when I decided to address the fat-laden gammon by requesting a replacement, the ordeal continued with another 40-minute wait. This extended delay only added to my frustration, diminishing any hope of salvaging the dining experience. I share this feedback in the hope that the management addresses these shortcomings promptly. Improvements in food quality, service attentiveness, and timely replacements would undoubtedly enhance my overall dining experience at Beef Eater. (Picture attached is of the food after waiting another 40 minutes)

We visited here today with our two young children. When our non verbal autistic son had a meltdown we were visibly stressed. The staff were very helpful, understanding and sympathetic. Thank you.

Pub
The Shy Horse is a charming village inn located on the main Leatherhead Road, offering a relaxed atmosphere and family-friendly environment. Recently renovated, the pub now features a vegan menu alongside classic pub grub and real ales. Gin enthusiasts will appreciate the variety of options available, including non-alcoholic cocktails for designated drivers. Despite being short-staffed during one visit, the service was satisfactory.
TLDR: nice Sunday roast, warm decor, good service, and banoffee pie recommended! I rocked up to the place on a Sunday for a Sunday roast and managed to get a table for 2 without any issues. Though I imagine if it was earlier in the afternoon, it may have been busier. The general decor of the place is warm and inviting, with a touch of gastro-pub about it. There is plenty for space for dining/seating inside. In terms of the food, a nice option is the trio roast (which had turkey, pork and beef) for Sunday lunch. They also offer the more traditional beef, pork etc. The portions were decent sized. The food was well presented and priced similar to other pubs in the area. Absolutely loved the banoffee pie. Simply delicious! The service was really nice and we managed to get our food relatively quickly despite being a Sunday and busy-ish period. Overall, well worth going, especially after walk in the nearby Commons.

Lovely well decorated vintage pub with nice, well presented tables and a real fire. The staff were very friendly and helpful. A good choice of ales, wines and spirits. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. I had the Nourish Bowl + chicken for £14.95 and it was fresh with lovely fruity flavours through it. My friend had Fish, Chips & peas for £14.75 and he said it was fabulous. Well worth a visit. 😋

We really enjoyed the dinner. Service was great. Food was fresh and delicious. Kids menu is available. Dog friendly place. Loved the vibe of the pub. We will definitely come back

Really nice place, been a couple of times, would recommend booking as they are often quite busy but they've been great and fitted us in even though we hadn't booked. Staff are very friendly and helpful and although not marked on the menu, they are knowledgeable and accommodating when it comes to my dietary requirements, no problem getting a dairy and gluten free meal for myself (who is intolerant). Also worth saying we originally found this place as they have a fast electric car charger which is super useful and has always been working when we've visited.

I’ve been here a lot over the years. It’s been a great meeting place for friends and family that travel to meet me from the M25 as I live in Kingston. I met a friend for dinner this week. The restaurant area was filthy, with food squashed into the carpet. I asked to move tables to a cleaner space but was told I couldn’t. It took 1.5 hours for the table and floor to be cleaned. In the time we were there, all the tables remained empty and could have easily moved. I was really embarrassed as I had suggested this venue. We both ordered the sea bream. Not only was it lukewarm, the broccoli was watery, old and inedible. The sauce on the top was indescribable. And we paid £18 for the pleasure. We were both hungry afterwards. No one asked us if the food was ok and we felt like intruders every time we waited at the bar for a drink and then again to pay the bill. The bathroom was something else. The photos have to be seen to be believed. It’s a shame but I will never be returning here.

Spent a day in Chessington World of Adventures and then gathered in The Shy Horse for a slap up meal. Our choice of food, funny enough, was not that varied. The eight of us had bugers or the beef and ale pie. The food was quite good and there was enough of it. The burgers seemed to go down well. The pies tasted nice but the beef could have done with an extra 30mins cooking to make it really tender, as it was a wee bit tough but still nice. My only small complaint really is that there was no table service, as in a waiter or waitress taking your order. I say this because the place is set out as a restaurant/pub. It was a quiet night there, as it was a Monday, so it just would have added some more professionalism to the place. The staff were friendly however and I would certainly go back.
Demetri's World — Google review
Excellent food, staff helpful and friendly despite it being a very busy Saturday evening. Only thing missing for 5* was the welcome on arrival, we weren't quite sure what the procedure was and it took a little time for a staff member to approach us. Wouldn't stop us visiting again. Thanks to all for a nice meal and experience.

I really never leave bad reviews, but this one really takes the biscuit! Paid £35 for 2 takeaway roasts, mine was the Turkey breast with maple bacon at just under £17. Well, as from the picture what turned up looked like the last scraps of meat, no maple bacon, no stuffing and no extra gravy I had selected. Half burnt veg and a table spoon of greens. To say I am shocked at how this turned up, I had to laugh because otherwise I would have cried! I’m 8 months pregnant and have been unable to go out for a nice pub roast so needed to order in, but to end up with missing items and a completely awful state of a roast dinner that looked like scraps I would give to the dog… have eaten here a number of times but will not be returning, if you want good quality food please just go elsewhere!

Our visit was a family gathering, with the full range of ages attending. Clearly a popular place, the restaurant was busy, so we were expecting our order of 17 different meals to take a while and probably come out at different times. Despite all that, they delivered all our meals quickly and together. All the meals were great, decent sized portions too. We had lots of different choices between us, steaks, fish and chips, burgers - all really nice with no issues which, for one of our family gatherings, is quite an achievement! Even my 6yo food connoisseur commented on how tasty the sauce was in his tomato pasta, and my 13yo had no comments to make - praise indeed!! Nice helpful staff. Taking an order of that size can’t be easy, but they handled it really well. Some trips to the kitchen to check availability, a couple of last minute adjustments and everyone was happy. We felt welcome and looked after. An unprompted dessert tribute to the 50yo birthday boy was a nice touch, well done. Top marks for food and service. A bit of a queue at the bar at one point, maybe one more person serving might have eased the wait a little, but it was no biggie. We’ll certainly be back and, if the small water flow issue in the gents is resolved, then it’ll be the full 5 stars next time I’m sure.

I have not been to the pub for a few months but feel they have upped their prices for food and drink. It was a Wednesday around 14.00, we had 2 plain salads, child's meal and a maccaroni cheese, one large white wine, and three other drinks. £92.00. Not sure I will return as other pub restaurants offer better value. The staff were very nice and pub nice and clean.
Neil Hunt — Google review
Went with my mother using a complimentary 40% discount voucher recent on an email. Although very short staffed the service was reasonable. Fortunately we were in time to have the last two home-made pies of the day each, beef in red wine sauce, as our main course which was extremely hot and flavoursome. One served with spring onion mash, the other with chunky fries. Both also had a good selection of fresh, steamed vegetables. We both had a starter each, again very tasty! Crispy fried brie bites & creamy garlic mushrooms. Only drawback were the group of children running through from the garden and leaving the doors open causing it to be a little chilly, but soon rectified by the waitress.

A nice treat out for my birthday. Thr food is ok even if it was a bit on the cold side. Decided to try the cloudy lemonade with additional fruit in it. The cloudy lemonade and passion fruit was the winner. This was sharp and a good mixture. However if you like the sweeter ones the raspberry was my second choice with the strawberry one last as it was far too sweet for my palate. My starter was the prawn cocktail. This would have been better with shredded ice burg instead of little gems. There were no compaints about the calamari. The sticky chicken portion was small (3 pieces) but nice so i'm told. For the mains everyone had the roast except one who had the hunters chicken. The beef was extremely tender and my husband loved the gravy. Unfortunately i forgot to take pictures except for one.

Exceptional friendly service from Abby and Dillon. Abby made my mojitos to perfection :) and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals (so thank you chef), the best we've had for a while. All three meals were cooked perfectly while a nice size portion. Will visit again.

Located within the Chessington World of Adventures resort, Zafari Bar and Grill offers an exciting African dining experience. The spacious dining room is adorned with safari-style decor, including murals and animal-print upholstery. Guests praise the friendly staff and quick service, as well as the delicious Margherita pizza. While some note that the restaurant can get noisy due to children, others appreciate the good atmosphere and speedy food service.
Food was very yummy, waiters nice and polite. All my food arrived very quickly as well. The ambience is very nice, even though there should be some kind of shutters on the windows, since every one was blinded by the sun. Very noisy, but that's to expect with all children there. But all in all a very pleasant experience!

Make sure you have your phone handy for the ridiculous phone ordering system. Chessington's way to employ fewer staff leaves a very bitter taste, especially at their overinflated prices... You'd be better off ordering in.

Good atmosphere and food was served very quickly. Absolutely huge and excellent portions for the soup, mac and cheese, and burgers. Both the soup and the burgers were excellent, but unfortunately the same can’t be said for the mac and cheese.

At first we had a reservation and we had to wait almost 30 minutes for them to give us a table. When ordering we ordered pork ribs and skewer chicken and for dessert a brownie which we told them to bring at the end of the meal. The ribs were delicious and soft, but the chicken came cold and tough with a hot sauce which we returned because it was inedible. We changed it for salad with grilled chicken, which came with more sauce than chicken, plus the chicken was super cold and was never grilled. We decided to change it for fish finger and surprise, more than 20 minutes passed and the order never arrived. The wonderful thing about the whole brownie, we had to return it 4 times because they brought it from the moment we sat at the table and we had never finished eating to be able to enjoy the dessert.

Ridiculously slow service. If you want to spend half a day just ordering and waiting for food, this is the place to go. Very few options in the menu, but the food is tasty.

This could be a really good place to eat; amazing view of the reserve and a nice new bright and airy building. Food is surprisingly good quality as well for an amusement park. For me, service completely let this restaurant down. Everything seemed difficult, from getting a table to ordering on the app to asking for additional things (such as extra cutlery or a jug for tap water). Prices are what you'd expect for an amusement park restaurant; but because of that I'd expect there to be a certain level of service. Ordering from the app would be easier if the app/page allowed you to do everything (for most items you can't add custom notes or ask for some ingredients left out). It was also March so it seemed like a lot of the staff were new. For example, one gave me wrong information rather than checking with a more senior member of staff. Bit frustrating.
Michael Bretton — Google review
Absolutely awful. Have to order through an app so very little human contact, quoted 45 minutes wait though food arrived within 10 minutes. Completely over priced, cheap, tasteless frozen food. Pizza was covered in sauce and soggy, garlic bread was two slices of frozen baguette, Peri chicken lacked any flavour at all. Even the drinks were a Rip off, my son ordered an orange juice and it was tiny considering the price. There is a Pizza Hut delivery & couple other take aways approximately 5 minutes drive from this place, wish we knew this prior to our booking.
Tiffany Smith — Google review
Honest reviewer and I am quite picky (see my other reviews) but can honestly say that my family and I just had a really lovely meal, with exceptionally friendly service and it was reasonably priced. 1st point of note. Julie, the lady who initially served us was really friendly and took time to talk to my children. She had a lengthy conversation with them about Capybara's after noticing their cuddly Capybara toys. Absolute credit to the Chessington team. Please pass on our thanks if the company looks at reviews. 2nd point of note. The food was actually nice and the portions were sizable. I have had a poor experience with food at another merlin site. However this was good quality. Well done Chessington. The price to feed 5 ignoring drinks was £55. (£44 if you have a merlin gold pass). 3rd point of note was that the restaurant was immaculately clean, had a lovely atmosphere and was just generally nice. All staff were friendly that we encountered. Thanks Chessington for a lovely meal and delightful family evening

Just wasted £100 ...could have had a really good meal for 4 at that price. Food was not up to scratch the price. All very cheap food bland and for a buffet dinner absolutely rubbish selection . I should have realised when I see how busy the carpark and hotel is and how empty the restaurant was. If you want people to eat here serve good food ! Especially for what you charge ! The only good thing I can say is the staff member working tonight there was a few sorry I didn't catch he's name ( brown hair white guy a little stocky and a few tattoos) was absolutely brilliant with the kids absolutely brilliant staff member he went above and beyond and the children loved him...come on Chessington be like your staff!! do better ! Because without staff like that I would have gave a full zero

Staff were incredible, very friendly and welcoming. Their Margherita pizza was the best pizza I've ever eaten I am blown away. The restaurant was spotless and food came out very quickly. They even all came out to wish my son a happy birthday and sung to him. This is a MUST restaurant for anyone who is coming to Chessington. A massive thank you to all the staff and all the cooks for creating an amazing meal and experience for me and my family.

Despite all the bad reviews we were already booked in there and the hotel and I thought it couldn’t be all bad. Well I was wrong. Started out good with nachos and drinks. Then my husbands food came. Ordered another round of drinks. Waited for a bit still nothing. Finally asked where the rest of our order was. He was finished they said the ready was coming. 15 minutes later kids food came out. Daughter couldn’t eat the burger said it wasn’t nice. My food had still not arrived. At this rate we were all ready to go. No second round of drinks still no dinner for me. By the time it came it was so late 1 and a half hours after we arrived. BBQ chicken pizza with uncooked red onions. Was inedible. Please AVOID. We did not ask for a single thing just paid. Was a bit disappointed that even after the complaint they said nothing. Worst meal ever for £80
Elizabeth Foord — Google review
Waited over an hour and a quarter with two small children and no food arrived. No updates, nothing from the staff. We had to chase our drinks as only some turned up but not all, in the end we cancelled our food order and left to find something nearby. Chessington doesn't open the other restaurant and forces everyone into this one when it can't cope. Really put us off going back ever again and ruined a good day out.
Melanie Pattenden — Google review
Wow..one of our worst dining experiences to date...unfortunately everything from service, food, quality, atmosphere and price was all bad..£100 for a meal and wish we just ordered a dominos to the hotel..not the nest first impression. Staff training needs an improvement.

Well, the staff were cheery enough. That’s it. I saw that Guinness was £4 a pint, ordered one and then found it was £7.95. They had ALL the pricelists printed incorrectly. I paid it as it’d been a very long day. Decided to order the steak and ale pie. This arrived within 4 minutes but in a cardboard takeout tray, without cutlery. I asked if it could be plated as I was dining in (I wasn’t asked if I wasn’t, and had already ordered a Guinness). I was presented with a cold plate and cutlery, I’m not that picky but I’ve never been asked to plate my own dinner in a restaurant. Complained to front desk who said he’d talk to the manager. £20 + light, left the microwave pie and Guinness and ordered a takeaway. At least I know that comes in a tray. Just to update, the restaurant manager was a lovely chap and I did get a full refund and he promised to retain the staff. The future reviews will tell the story. For this reason I upgraded a star to 2

Saffron Summer is a sophisticated Indian restaurant that aims to showcase the diverse cuisine of India's 29 states. They offer an extensive menu featuring authentic dishes, including Indian street food and tapas for lunch, as well as a special Sunday roast. With seasonal changes to their menu, diners can expect a variety of options.
Over several years this has been the go to restaurant for myself and friends when we want amazing Indian food. Always feel well looked after by both waiters and management, always open to give advice and help when choosing dishes. Delicious food, if the chicken trilogy was a main course I’d choose it every time…!! Fantastic service, can be quiet at times but this doesn’t detract from the whole dining experience. Would always recommend to friends, 5 stars every time.

Outstanding Indian cuisine. Particularly love the classy takes on regional cuisine which we miss in average Indian restaurants. We frequently order the biryani which is brilliant and the samosas! The butter chicken is possibly the best we've had!

We discovered this hidden gem accidentally. I was expecting some rather dull pre made sauces etc - however to my surprise this restaurant turned out to be the best Indian restaurant for quality, taste and service on this side of town. Food is consistently good and some great dishes.

Stunning, high-level Indian food. Usually have takeaway but occasionally eat in for a weekday lunch, when it's very quiet and service is excellent. Highlights include the Venison Kebabs and chicken trio starters, Wild Boar Vindaloo (not as hot as a 'typical' Vindaloo but still packs a punch), and the various Biriani mains. I've never had enough space left to manage a dessert so can't comment on those.

Simply brilliant. No idea curry this good was so local. Been in the area for 10 years and found this when spending the night with family at Chessington World of Adventures. Popped down for a quick curry with the family and it was amazing. Highly recommended. For starters we had pops (so tasty) , onion bhaji (so fluffy), vegetable samosa (so crispy), and calamari (so tasty). We all had house special mains including boar vindaloo. All so so tasty. Service was amazing. If I had any minor gripes it would be that the food portions are a little small (but we still left feeling stuffed and quality is amazing) and was also a little more pricey than any local curry (£14 for a main curry compared to £6-9 at all other locals). But these are minor, so much so, I'll be back every other week. Highly recommended.

Superb. We love this place. It doesn’t look like much from the outside, but it’s just wonderful. Consistently brilliant food, excellent, friendly service. We dine in and use the takeaway regularly and both options are great. Highly recommended. Nascimento and his team deserve a huge thumbs up.

OVERPRICED FOR THE QUANTITY NOT WORTH IT! I would NOT RECOMMEND this place to anyone or visit again! We had a fixed two course menu for £25 per head, to my shocked the quantity that was delivered to the table was completely insufficient, they were shamefully small portions when I complained the next day I was told I should have ordered more, therefore paying more !

For a local restaurant parking is quite hard to find. Food quality was average. Some Dishes were warmer than others, and the dish portions were limited. Starters were slow, took about 20 minutes to come even restaurant was only 50% full. Menu was incorrect in drinks, (printing mistake - Sipmith was listed under Vodka and not Gin.). Service was polite, and restaurant was clean.

Where do we start! We start with the wonderful Nacito, TALK ABOUT EXCELLENCE CUSTOMER SERVICE !!!! with a lot of eating out under my belt, I can safely say that this was one of the greatest displays of both professionalism and acceptance in a restaurant I have ever received. Nacito made us feel as welcome as you are in the home of your parents. The food was served to an absolutely excellent standard; the starters where the perfect size, the Goan Prawn Ambotik was the best sauce with the poppadoms, and was even great with the tandoori broccoli which had an al dente bite, which was just how we like it! The mains of the Wild Boar Vindaloo and the Old Delhi Butter Chicken where sublime; so flavoursome and so so tasty! All polished off with the roti, coconut rice snd mushroom rice, we nearly didn't have room for dessert but we squeezed in a shared slice of the chocolate orange cake, which was also amazing ! Ladies and gentlemen, if you are in the area or just passing thought like us, please make sure you get down here for some of THE BEST hospitality and food I have ever experienced! We love this place and wish it was our local! Thanks again for the marvellous service, you are truly amazing

Updated review Never fails to impress & good value despite what some other reviewers have said. We knew the food was delicious, having had several take aways from here and tonight we were not let down. The menu has a really interesting mix of slightly unusual things + regular curries. My husband ate the most beautiful looking chicken selection, which he assured me tasted every bit as good as it looked, for starter and a divine slow cooked lamb dish for main. I enjoyed spicy, jammy, calamaris followed by courgette chana massala. The service was absolutely perfect - attentive whilst not being overbearing. We paid £68 for: 2 starters, 2 mains, rice & naan, 2 large beers and a bottle of sparkling water, this included the 10% OPTIONAL service. Believe me we did not chose the cheapest options from the menu - I do not think this is over priced at all. I don't know why people write vicious, untruthful reviews - I even read one review below that suggested that the restaurant get friends to use fake names and post good reviews to con people - what nasty, twisted little world do you live in & how dare you accuse other reviewers of being liars?? Only got a take away but going back to eat in asap. Menu slightly different to the norm - most of the usual but some great specialities. Being a vegetarian it was refreshing to see some really interesting dishes. The food was absolutely delicious - the rice was fluffy, the naans were super fresh and all the main courses were divine. Husband had Lamb Rogan Josh which he said was the best he'd ever eaten. Rest of us shared vegetarian Chana, Saag & Bindi dishes all of which were simply sublime.

Temple Restaurant & Bar at Chessington Azteca offers an extraordinary and engaging high-quality buffet dining adventure, located in an enigmatic ancient temple setting. The subterranean space is meticulously tended to by leaf cutter ants, while the surrounding foliage is safeguarded by monkeys and the heavens above are diligently protected. The breakfast experience provided is of exceptional standard, with patrons able to serve themselves from a wide variety of freshly prepared dishes.
I went in for breakfast and it was very good. Self service and everything is cooked. Like all merlin restaurants, the orange and apple juice is… just the best!!!!!!!!!!

Most of the food here is like a budget school canteen. The meat was adequate but the roast potatoes looked deep fried and the vegetables were all out of the freezer. Very unpleasant. Churros were nice but the ice cream is horrendous. More ice, than cream. Don't let it melt or it looks even worse! We paid £50 for 2 adults and 2 children. Should've gone to the beefeater next door!

Food was ok at best, not particularly hot and nothing stood out as particularly good. Staff were friendly, though fizzy drinks machines weren't working and they didn't seem too bothered when I told them - despite the fact we had paid 4.20 each for "unlimited drinks"! 76 quid for two adults and a child, including 2 small unlimited drinks that we were only able to fill once - staff should have been wearing balaclavas. Biggest let down of the trip :(

How to let an entire visit down. Food was terrible, luke warm and uninspiring. Staff were friendly but it defies the point. Value for money is also appalling. Shame given the various snack shacks/cafes around the park provide far better food that is edible!! What a let down!

This place has so much potential. I think I was there on a bad day. The drinks machines were not working so I had to go to the bar outside and join the long queue in order to get drinks. Ice cream machine was broken. It is however a decent buffet . Good selection at dinner time , breakfast is a little smaller but still sufficient.

Good choice of breakfast offered including full English and continental options. Food was fresh and hot when we arrived. Can't complain. More than one coffee dispenser needed as created queues and the watered down juice not very nice. Staff tried to clear tables quickly. Social distancing not adhered too by anyone and staff did not implement this either. Also had evening meal which due to being a sunday was a carvery. Plenty of meat options and vegetables. Not many options for children ( fish fingers and sausages under the counter?) And poor choice of desserts. Just ice cream and churros. Refill drinks used to be included in the price as previous visit but now they are charging extra. Also ask for blue light discount as this is not promoted by staff but is valid.

We took my daughter to Chessington for the Zootastic weekend on the 12th and 13th February we book dinner for 6.30pm at the Temple restaurant and it was the worst buffet/food we ever had, firstly the food was cold and hard (roast dinner buffet) the temperature wasn't checked at all on the food, having paid £54.85 for the 3 of us it was like having poor cafe food. The staff were unprofessional poorly trained they took our refillable cups while we went to get desert (it's a buffet ensure people are finishe) I told the lady who couldn't talk English and she called her colleague over I explained again and she went off and got us drinks. To my horror they grouped by our table talking and giggling in their own language we felt so uncomfortable and got up and left. The following morning we went for breakfast thinking it would be better but no food was cold sausages were hard, bacon cold, beans and eggs were cold we then just opted for fruit and toast and went to the park to eat. I complained to reception who gave me an email to write my complaint to and she said she would talk to the restaurant manager. Anyway today I got a response to my email offering us £15 pounds vouchers as compensation, this in my eyes is an insult. I forgot to mention the roast dinner was so dry it broke the filling in my tooth. I've replied rejecting their offer as this isn't a one off just look at the same reviews on Trustpilot. Can someone from senior management please reach out to me from the hotel.

Absolutely amazing food! Widespread buffet Very helpful, polite, and courteous staff. Amazingly fresh food with such a delicious taste. I loved the breakfast experience. I would definitely return.

Terrible.... Wouldn't bother for the money. Unless you like beige food I wouldn't bother. I can see how I would appeal to some families, as an easy quick option. Buffet style, with the usual options for kids, chicken nuggets, fish fingers, chips etc. There was also a carvery stand, but the meats weren't of great quality, overcooked and dry. Tables weren't cleaned, even though there was plenty of staff hanging about chatting. Drinks were exuberantly over priced for what they were, but I suppose it's a captive market. If your staying at the hotel, you'd be as well taking a trip into Chessington town an going to a restaurant there.

Disgusting!!!! So over priced, I got a refund on the slop I tried. We will be leaving the resort to find a nice pub for dinner tomorrow night.

We tried the buffet dinner and it was.....Only the fries, the fruits and ice cream are fine. It caused 20 gbp for adult and 10 for child so you wouldn't expect too much but it was still a bit below expectation.

Had some pancakes here which were like if a cat mixed egg and salt together and one case of an anemic pizza which smelt like when i get my feet out on a long day of walking. Absolutely despicable! Also the watermelon tasted like drinking a pumpkin. Vile.

As usual found everything brilliant. Food tasted good. Buffet style with quite a few dish options

The venue could be good but poor service and overloud background sounds are not good. It has ants running around the room in a tube that is fascinating to watch. Unfortunately at certain intervals the background noise gets louder and louder. This is not good for anyone with sensory needs. You have to go to the bar for drinks, there is no table service. The room is dimly lighted by yellow spots making whatever you have on your plate look the same. The quality of the food was poor to say the least. Table was booked for set time but was a free for all. Edit: Spoken to the manger and today's breakfast was much better.
