The Viswa Shanti Stupa Rajgir is a contemporary white stupa situated atop a hill, dedicated to world peace and adorned with four golden Buddha statues. Although the location offers serene beauty, it presents an issue for older individuals or those with knee problems due to the challenging climb up the stairs. While ropeways provide an alternative means of reaching the destination, additional assistance such as a lift could be beneficial for elderly visitors.
Ropeway is awesome... it'll take to the top of the mountain in some minutes... Shanti stupa is beautiful at the top...there is a temple where you can sit and it's really peaceful place with the slow drum beats in regular frequency.... You can enjoy the view from the top of the mountain...

Climbed to this place as the rope way was not operational due to technical difficulties. It is a difficult climb if not used to it, but worth the walk. The Stupa sits majestically awaiting you at the end of your climb, and it radiates a sense of peace that makes up for all the sweat and hard work. The capuchin monkeys all around are quite cute and entertaining. Be sure not to harass them. They mind their own business.

Peaceful place to be , view from the ropeway is very nice , however be careful will boarding and getting from the single seater ropeway as it will not stop to get on , you have to board it while it is moving , though it will be slow moving. Few points above the hill top to take photos , It will be crowded on weekends, it is highly recommended to go early as possible to avoid crowd , It will be small walk from ropeway station above to the Stupa.

Peaceful place. Has great significance of Buddhism. It's up on the hill so you'll have to take ropeway to reach there. Once you reach up the hill, you'll have walk for 2 mins, on the way there are small shops from where you can purchase souvenirs to take back home (don't forget to bargain). Also beware of the monkeys present over there, they get aggressive sometimes and also snatch food from people's hands.
Swati Tanti — Google review
Very beautiful and peaceful place. Only problem is that the stairs towards the stupa can be troublesome to old people and people with knee problems. The ropeways are a great way to reach the place but another option like a lift to take older people just a bit closer to the summit could have been wonderful. Young people might not have any trouble walking up the few steps but it is a whole different story for the visiters who are older and have trouble climbing stairs.

This place has so much in it that one does not want to go away from that place. First of all you have to hike up or u can take up the rope way too but I would not recommend that. Its absolutely fun going there. So much of peace. Wonderful Sceneries and some good JHALMURI there. Wonderful..

This is very great tourist spot to go. Viswa shanti stupa at Rajgir is located at top of the mountain where you can reach by single sitting ropeway as well as cabin ropeway . You will come to know about Budha and his basic principles. The spot is very good for the tour purpose. If you are a photographer you can get some better clicks here . I will say explore this place and Rajgir .

It is a large white Peace Pagoda built by the neo-Buddhist organisation ‘Nipponzan Myohoji’. It is one of the 80 Peace Pagodas which has been built around the world after the atomic bombings on Japan. Statues of the Buddha are mounted on the stupa in four directions. It also has a small Japanese Buddhist temple with a large park. There is a temple near the stupa where prayers are conducted for universal peace. But certain tourists and locals harm the silence and vibe of the place. Also beware of the langurs loitering all around the site.

History museum
The Cyclopean Wall history museum is an ancient structure of great significance. The wall was constructed using large, irregularly shaped stones without mortar and dates back to prehistoric times. It is believed that the Cyclopean Wall was built by a civilization known for its architectural prowess, which used the wall as part of their fortification system. The museum houses artifacts and exhibits from different eras, showcasing the rich cultural and historical heritage of the region.
Built with massive undressed stones fitted together, this wall is popular for its similarities with ancient Greek walls. The ancient city of Rajgir was the capital city of King Bimbisara and his son Ajatshatru who were contemporaries of the Buddha. The traces of a fortified wall are found around the city. This wall was built with massive undressed stones fitted together having width of about 14'. It is popularly called as the Cyclopean wall for its similarities with ancient Greek walls. Bastions were built at intervals to strengthen the wall. According to Pali texts there were 32 large gates and 64 smaller ones to enter the fortified city. A considerable part of this ancient massive wall running up along the Ratnagiri hill is still there, starting from the base of the hill towards the hillside. The foundations of the New city erected by either Bimbisara or his son Ajatasatru can be seen while going to the Bus stand.

The Cyclopean Wall is a 40 kilometre long stone wall encircling the entire Rajgir (formerly known as Rajgriha). It is one of the beautiful places to visit in Rajgir and the oldest examples of cyclopean masonry found across the world. It was built by King Jarasandh, 2nd ruler of Brihadratha or Rawani dynasty to protect the city from invaders and enemies. This wall is protected by the National Monument and most of the wall has been destroyed with time. Built with huge limestone boulders without any use of mortar and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the year 1987. You can also see the Chariot Wheel Marks near the Cyclopean Wall and engravings in an unencrypted script around the Route Marks of the Chariot. The engravings are supposed to be made sometime between the 1st and 5the century AD.

At a distance of 7 km from Rajgir Railway Station, Cyclopean Wall is an ancient fort wall situated in Rajgir, Bihar. It is one of the oldest specimens of cyclopean masonry across the world, and among the must include places in Rajgir Tour Packages. Constructed over Rajgir hill and plains, the Cyclopean Wall is 4 meters wide, and 40 km long fort wall of stone which encircled the entire ancient city Rajgriha. It was erected by King Jarasandha the 2nd ruler of Brihadratha (Rawani) dynasty before 324 BC using massive undressed stone to protect their capital from external invaders and enemies. It reminds the great administrative abilities of the Brihadratha (Rawani) dynasty. Built of massive undressed stone carefully fitted together, the wall is one of the few important pre-Mauryan stone structures ever to have been found. Currently, under the protection of the National Monument, the wall does not exist around the city in its old glory and only some of its ruins are left here for the travelers to see. One can also visit the Chariot Wheel Marks situated nearby. The Chariot Wheel Marks are two parallel furrows cut deep into the rock for about 30 feet long. According to the local legends, these marks were formed due to the high speed and power of the chariot of Lord Krishna when he arrived in Rajgir. Adding to the mystery, an engraved and still to be decrypted script around the Chariot Route Marks makes this spot in Rajgir a must-visit for tourists. This engraved script is estimated to be written between 1 AD and 5 century AD. Timings: 6 AM - 6 PM Entry: Free

The Rajgir Ropeway is the country's oldest cable car, providing an opportunity to ascend 1000 feet above sea level and enjoy stunning panoramic views of the Punt Wildlife Sanctuary and the majestic Udaigiri, Vaibagiri, Songgiri, and Viparachal mountains.
Rajgir Ropeway is one of the oldest cable line operating ropeways in bihar. Nowadays the government is planning to build several ropeways in bihar to generate revenue from tourism. The Rajgir Ropeway is a single person seater rope line that leads you all the way to the top of the scenic Ratnagiri Hill which houses the famous Vishwa Shanti Stupa, also known as the Peace Pagoda. It gives you a thrilling adventure and experience. Another box type ropeway is built beside this ropeway which is currently closed due to technical issues.
Gautam Saxena — Google review
Very well setup of the rope way. Two types are here. One is a single person, kind of baby carrier. And the other one is the family cabin. Entry fee for a single person carrier is 100 ₹per person and for a family cabin it's 120. The family cabin gives a more adventurous ride than a single one. You reach rajgir peace pagoda by this rope way.

The ride is great but being a place in Bihar there is no order in place. Such a big tourist place but UPI does not work here. Proper parking is not available. People don't have sense of hospitality.

This ropeway has both individual chairs as well as cabins. It takes to and fro between the base and Shanti Stupa. The one side ride takes a couple of mins. The view from the ropeway is okay. You can take both one sided as well as return tickets. Pro tip: The ropeway is closed from 1 pm to 2 pm during lunch time. So, avoid taking a ride during that time to avoid queues. Also, only cash is accepted for buying tickets.

Nothing to say abt ropeway , all I can say is you must go with your family for little fun. And do not carry any luggage as there is no clock room for you to place your luggage, you have to carry it with you through the entire journey
Madhav Soni — Google review
Said to be the oldest ropeway in India, the Rajgir ropeway line is a wonderful excursion in the cradle of nature. It is the only ropeway in existence in the state of Bihar. The single person seater rope line is a thrilling adventure that leads you all the way to the top of the scenic Ratnagiri Hill which houses the famous Vishwa Shanti Stupa. The chairlift ropeway rises to a height of over 1000 feet from the ground level and is a thrilling ride to undertake. The area falls under the Pant Wildlife Sanctuary which provides unmatched views of the surrounding forest area. The ropeway gives access to the Buddhist memorabilia and constructions of a bygone era on the hilltop, coupled with picturesque views, there's nothing more you can ask for! This ropeway cost you ₹100 for single person and ₹120 if you're in group of 2 - 8 person for box cabin (two way cost). The Rajgir ropeway offers fantastic views of the adjoining Pant Wildlife Sanctuary and the surrounding five hills namely Vipalachal, Vaibhagiri, Songiri and Udaygiri, other than the Ratnagiri hill that it is connected to.

I am Rudra Saha ,a eleven year old. On my recent trip to Rajgir in August I had visited the Rajgir Ropeway. On reading the about the ropeway 's history one thing that caught my attention is how Bihar tourism has improved the safety standards. Ticket prices are Cabin ropeway - ₹ 120 Single chair - ₹ 100 The ticket counter opens at 8:00 a.m. and closes at 5:00 p.m. and if you have bought a ticket you will get to ride the ropeway whatsoever. The best time to go to this ropeway is at 10:30 sharp as after that there is a very long line for the cabin ropeway however the single chair ropeway did not have a line at any time. The location can be reached easily by a private car or public however if you visit this place during the Malmas Mela you will have to take a ghora gari or Toto. The Experience was amazing the, feeling of gliding through the greenery ,especially for the single chair ropeway. The view is breathtaking. I would recommend the single chair ropeway over the cabin ropeway as the cabin ropeway is a little more enclosed and has a long line. The best part of the ropeway is that everyone from elders to youngsters, from. Rich to poor ride the Ropeway without discrimination.
Rudra Saha — Google review
Earlier it has chair type Ropeway. But in the close Cabin it is more safe and can send 8 persons in a cabine. Good way to Reach Shanti Stupa Rajgir. You can enjoy the great view from the Cabine. it cost 120₹ per person both way.

At a distance of 3 km from Rajgir Railway Station, Rajgir Hot Springs are the sacred natural water springs in Rajgir, Bihar. Situated near Pandu Pokhar, it is one of the popular hot water springs in Bihar and among the prominent places of pilgrimage in Rajgir. Situated at the foot of the Vaibhava Hill, Hot Water Springs are one of the most popular attractions of Rajgir. There are around seven Hot Springs in Rajgir which are considered to be sacred places for Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism. The water comes from the seven streams known as Saptadhara that are believed to originate from the Saptaparni Caves at the top of the hill. The Brahmakund Spring is regarded as the most sacred one as well as the hottest one with a temperature of around 45 degrees Celsius. The Hot Springs are also known for their medicinal values which help to cure many skin ailments. The water from the spring is collected in an enclosure, which is accessible by a staircase. There are also faucets with running water where one can bathe. Separate bathing places are allocated for men and women. Non-Hindus are not allowed to enter the spring. A flight of stairs above the Brahma Kund leads to Pippala cave, a massive stone structure with grottos on all sides. It has been identified as the Pippala stone house, which was frequented by Buddha and later his disciples. It is named after the Pipal tree at the cave's entrance that is said to have been occasionally visited by the Buddha for meditation after his midday meal. The structure is popularly known as 'Jarasandh ki Baithak' after King Jarasandh who figures in the text of the Mahabharata. One can also visit Lakshmi Narayan Temple located beside the hot spring.
