This restaurant is perfect for those with hearty appetites, as they allow customers to order multiple tapas-style dishes ranging from pizza to spicy meatballs. With the option to keep ordering more, patrons will never get bored halfway through their meal.
Went with friends for a birthday meal. After a mix up with the booking, we eventually got seated and ordered from the special deal, which is available upto 7pm. All the food arrived freshly cooked and in good time, considering the place was full! My friends and I all enjoyed our dishes and four of us squeezed dessert in too! The staff were pleasant and friendly and the bill quite reasonable considering how many dishes we shared! We will definitely be back for more!

Warm friendly welcome on arriving for lunch. Seated quickly and drinks orders taken promptly. Very nice food prepared & cooked to perfection. We had 12 dishes between 4 of us with a toddlers meal and drinks all for just over £70. Excellent, thank you. Plenty of parking out front.

Awesomely beautiful quality epic food. My friend and I visited Cabbage Hall Pesto 11th Dec for our Xmas catch up. We are 2 ladies whom know our minds and we like things to be comfortable. We were greeted and sat in the first small area before the bar in front of a fire place with the fire in it. Both being very hot ( in more ways than one wink wink nudge nudge) we asked politely to.be moved and this was no issue at all. We both ordered a drink each ( salted caramel martini is recommended) and then our food. Tiny wait between these but it was a busy Sat Night. I then ordered my food and decided on 7 dishes and my friend 6. I think all the food was amazing . I love the oregano potatoes till the day I die but standouts for me were the belly pork...so soft and cod bits in beer batter, so fresh and chunky. I also really liked the goats cheese puff pastry tart. My friend enjoyed her chicken thigh dish. Overall perhaps one of the beat meals I have ever had at Pesto.

Rating based on Pub chain dining. Overall a good experience- nice food/wine, good service(friendly staff), and a nice ambience. Even better are the keen prices…. I read some reviews before we went with some issues mentioned- have to say our experience was very good. As an aside there’s a quirky place next door ‘Reclaimed world’- rounded off our visit to Tarporley. Going on our re-visit list.

Genuinely shocked at how good this meal was - one of the best Italian's I've ever had at a great price! I chose the Rigatoni, Meatballs and the 6" Spicy Pizza. All three were absolutely spot on! I rarely give such a glowing review, but the quality of the roof, service and price is really top notch.

Called in at lunch time and a lovely lady managed to seat us even though they were busy. Food was beautiful. We had the 3 tapas for £10.50 and would highly recommend

I really enjoyed it here. The food was very nice, and the staff were very friendly. The atmosphere was good and the restaurant was clean and tidy. Cocktails were the nicest I've had. Highly recommend the cherry Bakewell.

Food was fantastic. Most ordered from the lunch menu which was really good value. I tried the pork belly for the first time and it was amazing. I would definitely recommend the carbonara, peposo and the pork belly Being served drinks took a while, not many staff on But food all came out hot and perfect

My partner and I had a brilliant meal at Pesto this evening. We booked last minute and had no issues getting a table. The food was amazing - a great range of dishes on the menu so it was difficult to choose! Everything we ordered was delicious. Our experience though was made by our amazing server Rachel, she was really friendly, very knowledgeable about the menu and really attentive. A credit to the restaurant! 5* would definitely recommend 😊

Pub
Situated near the Sandyford Brook and a short distance from Delamere Forest, Fox & Barrel is an authentic country pub that has received numerous awards. Considered one of the top dog-friendly pubs in the region, it boasts excellent reviews and a seasonal menu that changes regularly. Dogs are welcome in the bar area, while outside there's a fantastic drinking space where you can relax with your furry friend.
Delicious meal, great service and lovely location. We had the olive and hummus nibbles, the delicious pea and mint soup, baby gammon, burger, fish and chips , various wines and coffees, and the stupendous creme brulee, white chocolate cheesecake and sticky toffee pudding. Everything was tasty and great sized portions. Highly recommend

Had a really good meal with a mate, proper good steak and a mango desert for me with the different textures of mousse, sponge and meringue. The pub itself was very light, not dimly lit like many others, staff were great though it was quiet when we visited. Menu limited in choice, but this is a good thing as it will all be practiced and great

I love the Fox & Barrel! One of my absolute favourite places to eat Sunday Dinner! Booked for the week before Christmas, as it’s just such a lovely place! All 3 of us got the beef roast dinner! Hummus and pitta for starters, butternut squash soup (which was divine) and chicken wings! Also a portion of truffle fries! Lots and wine and ice cream with artic role for desert! Left feeling very happy and full :)

A lovely pub on the A49 at Cotebrook. A warm welcome and the best of care all evening, nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We were a group of 9 and each course was served very efficiently so we could all start together and there was just the right amount of time between courses for us to really enjoy our meals. A very good selection of dishes for each course and children's menu available. Everyone was delighted with their choices. A great place for a special celebration.

10/10 Sunday roast After a lovely afternoon at hollies farm shop we decided to go for a roast and found the fox and barrel after seeing there great reviews. We managed to get seated immediately, we got the mixed bread to start which was amazing and fresh. The bread arrived warm which was a bonus. The chicken dinner was cooked to perfection. We asked for extra veg and gravy and the staff couldn’t of been more helpful. The pictures speak for themselves. If your in the area I highly recommend

I am glad I found this place after a lovely walk at the Delamere forest. The decor is very modern classic and the fire at every nuke was warm and welcoming. We booked our table at 1.15 and was shown our table even if we turned up early. There were people waiting to seat as soon as we vacated, shows how popular the place was. I thoroughly enjoyed the courgette tempura with the couscous and would recommend this to all veg lovers. We will hopefully come back again soon. Until then I will keep recommending this place to my friends and family.

We popped into the Fox & Barrel impromptu stop on way home. Wow staff and our waitress expecially were attentive and nothing was too much trouble. I ordered whole fish and she even asked if I prefer... she could ask the chef to fillet the fish, wow don't often you get asked that. Yes, did get it filleted the whole meal delicious and cooked to perfection. My husband had the pie he said, ' it most definitely is the best pie he has had. The hanging baskets are a very colourful vision around this establishment, stunning.

We lunched at the Fox and Barrel for the first time yesterday. It was a belated meal to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The place came highly recommended and as you can see from my rating we weren't disappointed. The food and service were both excellent. We shall definitely be returning soon. Highly recommended.

Popped in for Sunday lunch (with my wife and 2 grandsons) on the way back from Beeston Castle. Wr hadn't booked (which is advisable). However, we were accommodated. A really nice pub/restaurant. The Weetwood Best Bitter was perfect. The Sunday Roast was excellent. Freshly prepared and lots of it. Staff were great too.

Lovely pub/restaurant which has been refurbished to a high standard. Food excellent. Service also excellent. Matt looked after us and made us feel extremely welcome.

Searched hard online for non-standard food close to Delamere Forest and totally lucked out with the Fox & Barrel. The menu looked quite interesting but frankly I was seduced by the quality of the photography on the website; these people looked like they care about the details. Wasn’t wrong. This was an absolutely sensational Saturday lunch, with assured, confident cooking and some really interesting, original flavours. Service from Matt was great, the place is clean and smart and our dog had a lovely time as well. Pix show a few of our dishes and we also ordered oysters, sausages, fabulous chunky chips, broccoli and lovely wines at fair prices. We will all definitely return. So happy to find a new favourite eatery in this neck of the woods. Thank you!

Have just had a late lunch here for Mother’s Day/birthday. I must say the whole experience was delightful. The staff where very friendly the pub has a lovely ambiance about it. The food was delicious everybody commented on how delicious it was the dessert where lovely to. Had a lovely afternoon would not hesitate to recommend a visit here for lunch or dinner.
Alex Webb — Google review
We called here on a recommendation from the accommodation that we were staying at the time and we weren't disappointed. The food was very good at a good price and the drinks were also good at a good price. The food is not bog standard pub grub, that every pub turns out. Don't get me wrong. We had Steak pie and a burger, but it was on a different level than the standard Pub. I would have preferred to have seen something different on the menu for the main selection, as I felt it was the same thing as everywhere else, but thankfully it was good and different. As for the starters, now they were GOOD. A good choice and they were good. Would I return and recommend. YES.

With reasonable prices considering the impeccable quality and generous portions of food, Panama Hatty's has become a firm favorite among patrons who appreciate great ambiance and outstanding service.
Fabulous, fabulous, fabulous! Was told this place is expensive but genuinely feel it's fairly priced, especially for the service, quality & quantity of food. You don't want to leave! A solid 10/10 and a firm new favourite for us
Laura Jones — Google review
Nice atmosphere for a special meal, love the decor as it's quite dark and atmospheric. Beast burger was nice, however the fries are fairly standard and onion rings just frozen style. Prices are quite expensive for what the food is. £18-20 a burger or fajitas. £30+ a steak. £7.50 for a pint of a weak IPA which sells for £4.80 in other pubs nearby. So value for money is on the poor side. Service was OK, a little slow to get started but picked up.

Great place and atmosphere. Food always spot on. Grandchildren loved it too. They said it's now their favourite place to eat out. Staff very pleasant and helpful.

Have had better experiences at this restaurant on past visits. Our recent visit was disappointing. Food was good but service was very poor. Condiments etc I had to get up from the table and approach a member of staff to request only to be informed they didn't have what I requested (whole grain mustard...not an unusual item I would have thought).
Trevor Roberts — Google review
I have visited here over the years and it has always been somewhere to go as a bit of a treat, bit of a drive out but always really great food and atmosphere. Unfortunately this seems to have changed, party of 7( 4 adults 3 children), service was very slow, we had to ask for drinks order and then ask to order food and it was pretty slow coming out. No one came and asked if we needed anything (more drinks etc). The staff themselves were friendly enough but clearly understaffed and rushed. The food itself was pretty average. For £170.00 for the table ( no one had desserts, 3 glasses of wine and a cocktail, the rest soft drinks and 3 of the meals children’s) the food was very average for the price. The place itself is still lovely and nice atmosphere but I won’t be in a rush to go back.

We visited Panama Hatty's last night for dinner for date night and to celebrate being child-free for the weekend and we could not have been further impressed. We are super happy we chose to come over a couple of the gastropubs which were on offer nearby. The food was so delicious and the cocktails were expertly made! Waitresses were all super friendly and willing to help. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a lovely atmosphere and fabulous service.

Amazing food. We went here especially even though it is some distance away. My friends thoroughly enjoyed the nachos, chicken wings were succulent and crispy and the roast dinner was divine... although could have been slightly improved with an extra roast potato. Service was timely and polite and they had a ramp for those with accessibility needs. Well done PH. Would highly recommend.

After journeying up and down the A49 for years and wondering about this eatery I finally had an opportunity to call in today for a very very late Sunday lunch. The sign outside said "Serving roast dinners until its gone"! Luckily for me they still had roasts to spare at 4pm. My friend and I opted for the 2 courses for £19.99. She had the salt 'n'pepper chicken wing starter which were excellent - the crispy coating on the large whole wings (none of those chopped in half affairs served here) was fabulous with a lovely chilli dressing and side salad which she enjoyed very much. I opted for the mushroom and Stilton bake, I think there may have also been a little mozzarella in there too because it was fabulously stringy as well as salty and stilton-y. It was delicious. We both ordered the beef roast which was an absolute triumph, in fact I'd go as far to say its the best roast beef I've enjoyed in years! Cooked to perfection, pink and melt in the mouth delicious, served with 8 vegetables - yes 8! I'm a veg fiend so love a roast dinner with sprouts, peas, green beans, carrot&swede mash, roast potatoes, cabbage, cauliflower cheese & brocolli and of course the requisite Yorkshire pudding and tasty gravy. The restaurant was cosy and comfortable and the decor enhances that. The restaurant was decorated for Christmas which brought an extra element of cosiness to our visit. The staff were helpful and attentive and the service wasn't slow apart from when we asked for the bill - maybe they wanted our delightful company for a little longer? All in all a welcome addition to our eating portfolio and I'll definitely be back with the whole family

Gastropub
The Yew Tree Inn, located in the charming village of Bunbury, is a traditional 19th-century pub with exposed beams and fireplaces. This welcoming establishment serves a British menu made from locally sourced produce. It has become a beloved spot for both locals and visitors alike, offering a wide selection of local cask ales, as well as wines and spirits from various regions.
Called in on the 30th of December. Good selection of lagers including Estella and Warsteiner. The food was delicious curried parsnip soup for starter. The burger and Cajun chicken burger were both lovely and tasty but I have to say the stand out for me were the chips which were big chunky proper home made chips that appeared to be possibly triple cooked and just might be the best chips I’ve ever had. The atmosphere was nice and relaxed with a nice roaring fire that was much appreciated as was the excellent service. We will definitely be be back.

Nice welcome when we arrived. Sat by a lovely crackling fire. The food however is why only a 2 star, lucky it got that. I had the cauliflower risotto which was so bland and a small portion. My daughter had the creamy mushrooms which she enjoyed. She also ordered steak and chips. They asked if she wanted it pink or well done and she said pink. Well that's the thinnest piece of leather I've seen on a plate. It was well done, tough and chewy. It was very difficult for her to cut it. So she asked if they could change it . The member of staff then explained to her how the chef would have to cook it. "Well they would have to flash fry it" . He made her feel very awkward like she was making a fuss so she just accepted what she had . Not one person asked if everything was ok , whilst we were eating or paying. For the price we would expect better.

Lovely place. Our family called in for food and a drink. Sunday dinner was very well cooked but the only downside was that it was warm but not hot. Apart from that it was a nice afternoon for us all.

Nice place to have a drink & we were lucky with the weather. Beetroot risotto was really nice but the hummus & veg flatbread with brie wasn't good at all. Far too much hummus, barely any veg or brie. Think just a bad combo. Would go back to try something else from the menu.

Just wanted to thank the team for accommodating 14 very wet cyclists. We asked if they would put on a brunch for us after a ride we did. Lovely pub but disappointing food. The minute steak had a very large fat rind and the described salad of watercress and tomato was more of a mere garnish of rocket with a couple of tasteless tomatoes. Shame as the service and atmosphere was excellent.

Monday night, been to The Swan for drinks before so thought let’s try dinner. Ordered fish & chips and ceasar salad. How can you go wrong! Food was poor, very overdone fish and chicken salad poor. Shame as staff and place really good. Staff aware and made gesture on bill but very disappointed

Sunday dinner for 4. We went to The Swan as the place we had booked nearby turned out to be dog tolerant as opposed to dog friendly. Wish we’d booked the Swan in the first place. Great table, nice atmos, warm welcome and friendly attentive service from everyone with treats for our dog. Best roast dinners (lamb and nut roast) that we’ve had in ages. Generous portions and delicious with yorkie, lots of lovely veg, cauliflower cheese and red cabbage … and importantly lots of rich gravy. Really enjoyed it we’ll definitely be back.

Sadly we didn't have a positive experience but credit where credit is due, the manager and her staff dealt with it very professionally, took on board my constructive feedback & gave reduction plus voucher. Would go back and give another try. Thank you. Positives: lovely surroundings, atmosphere, dog friendly.

We stayed for 2 nights in a Courtyard room with our 2 dogs. The room was small but adequate. Initially given the keys to an already occupied room which I only noticed after taking most of the luggage into it. There were cobwebs in the window recess and amongst the wall lights which had been there for some time. The bathroom extractor fan only worked when the cover fell off. There was no drinking water in the room and just one coffee and 2 teas. The cost was on the high side especially as dogs are charged at £20 each per stay. But the breakfast was superb, freshly cooked with excellent produce. The Hotel itself is beautifully decorated and welcoming.

So let’s start by saying all my reviews are honest and trustworthy written What I get served and service is what I write Actual property is nicely decorated inside and the staff mostly seamed polite and helpful Parking at rear Easter meal out and looking forward to a enjoyable meal Ordered 2 roast lamb dinners When plates arrived we had 1/2 carrot each and 1 / 2 florets of broccoli 🥦 hidden in wet cabbage The lamb was half fatty material and had no taste which it should have The Yorkshire pudding was ok but lacking heat roast potatoes similar It all also had a faint hint of fat ? Similar to being in metal but not only used for food holding only On what we had there is definitely room for improvement Spoke to staff regarding who listened and said it would be passed on

honestly we need the Swan to serve decent food, Tarporley is really difficult to eat out in currently. we arrived on a Sunday, two meals were fine, but the chicken pie was truly shocking. We were treated to a plate which contained a chicken pie the size of a pork pie, three small sticks of broccoli and a helping of mash the size of a dessert spoon. truly minute portion, the young waiter noticed straight away how small it was smiling and offering to bring more mash, but even with extra it was still smaller than a children's meal. a real let down, before you put it on the menu please take a look at what you are serving. 2 of us went away hungry and really disappointed 😞

Had a not very good experience for breakfast this morning. Booked a table for breakfast for 10.30 (my wife's birthday). Was told on arrival that there was a 30min wait as they were busy. My daughters eggs benedict arrived with no eggs. I mean, how can you serve eggs benedict with no eggs. We were then given the wrong meal. We had to ask for cutlery and condiments, which by the time it arrived our food was getting cold. The sauces arrived in small, second-hand jam jars. The toast arrived halfway through our meal, which we had to ask for. My bacon was overcooked, and my fried egg was hard. All in all, not a great experience.

Myself and 8 other gentlemen had Sunday dinner at The Swan. Booking was easy. Table was a large oval shape at the front which was ideal. A great selection of different foods available. Some went for the roast beef, buttermilk chicken in a basket, cod wrapped in ham, fish and chips. The food was excellent. The young Ladies serving us were friendly and helpful. Will return again.
