Road Station Sagae Cherry Land

Toll road rest stop
Lodging
Road Station Sagae Cherry Land is a rest area located on a toll road that offers various shops and restaurants, as well as opportunities for cherry picking during the spring and summer months. Visitors can indulge in Turkish snacks and ice cream, while also browsing through the many souvenirs available at the store. The facility hosts an array of events throughout the year, including snow-related activities during winter.
This was a cool place to stop! Sagae is known for their cherries, and this place does not disappoint. Tons of cherry-flavored items here and items made with pears too! The store has many other souvenirs that are interesting to look at. There is also a restaurant attached if you're hungry.

(Translated by Google) During my trip to Yamagata, I visited roadside stations and stopped at Roadside Station Sagae Cherry Land. This is also a large roadside station. The store was closed for a while as it was being renovated, but it was still a good place to buy souvenirs. Two types of ice cream cost 300 yen, which is an exceptional price. I chose rice (Tsuyahime) and secret beans (edamame), both of which were crushed and delicious. The latter is especially recommended as it contains less sugar and allows you to enjoy the flavor of edamame.

(Translated by Google) A roadside station that is very popular all year round. All of the facilities are very busy, including the cafeteria, hot snack car, Turkish restaurant in the aisle area, and gelato shop in a separate building. The parking lot is also very spacious, with two parking lots in front of the facility as well as on the riverbed at the back (this is recommended if you're staying in your car). The retail space is very spacious and there is a wide selection of products. There are quite a few types of sake and shochu on hand. However, the sweets lineup is mainly a bit expensive, and some of them are famous Sendai confections. Some products may also be missing. It claims to be the best cherry in Japan, but it's a shame that there isn't anything special about it.

(Translated by Google) My husband and I visited at the end of the year. The strawberries were also very delicious. I am also very satisfied with being able to taste and compare multiple types of strawberries at once. Please know in advance that reservations are required and it is difficult to get reservations during the year-end and New Year holidays. (Actually, I wanted to come last year, but I couldn't get a reservation that time, so I had to try again.) Please make reservations well in advance. Also, you will probably have to drive on unpaved farm roads locally. They keep it very clean with no uneven surfaces, but mud and water are inevitable when you walk, especially in winter, so I recommend wearing shoes and clothes that are easy to walk in and that you don't mind getting dirty. I enjoyed delicious strawberries. thank you very much. Please let me use you again. I haven't been able to come here for about two years due to the coronavirus pandemic, but I was finally able to go strawberry picking. There were three main types of strawberries: Tochiotome, Oi C Berry, and Koi Minori. However, it seems that there were also one or two other types of rare strawberries, such as rare characters. There were so many bright red, juicy, and sweet strawberries growing that I could eat my fill even if I stayed still in one place. We have strict infection control measures in place, limiting the number of people allowed inside the house, washing our hands, wearing disposable gloves, and carrying a plastic bag to put the petals in. The time limit is 30 minutes. I felt like I was at my limit because I was completely within the time limit. We did not sell them to take home or as gifts. Thanks to the helpful and helpful explanations from the staff, I was able to enjoy the experience smoothly. It is safe for those who are worried about using soil for hydroponic cultivation. (Translated by Google) I went to GW to eat soba on the Oishida Soba Highway, but it was so crowded that I had to give up. Therefore, I changed the target to go around the famous temples. I've always wanted to come I chose this temple. When I approached by car, I was overwhelmed by the luxurious Jionji terrace, but I believed in the word-of-mouth information and proceeded to the parking lot near the main hall. I felt the power to groan "Hmm". The thatched-roofed main hall at the back of the mountain gate is also wonderful and has an indescribable appearance. Even though the building alone was amazing, I was amazed at the Buddha statues inside. Furthermore, I was overwhelmed by the power of the twelve gods in the Yakushido. Unlike temples and museums in Kyoto, it is an unbelievable bubble that you can see at a short distance that you can touch. This time I arrived after 15:00, so I couldn't take a closer look, but next time I would like to go from the morning to see the Jionji terrace. The red stamp was handwritten and had a wonderful font. (Translated by Google) I visited the shrine on August 18, 2023. In 724, the first year of Jinki, Gyoki informed Emperor Shomu that this area was a scenic spot. This is an ancient temple that is said to have been founded by an Indian monk named Brahmon in 746, 1886, at the behest of Emperor Shomu. By the way, the Todaiji Temple in Nara's Rohsanabutsu eye-opening memorial service was held in 752, 4th year of the Tenpyo Shoho era, under the reign of Emperor Shomu and Emperor Koken, so the temple was opened six years earlier. Bodhisenna, an Indian Brahman monk, was invited to the Todaiji Temple for the eye-opening memorial service for Rohshana Buddha, but I would like to know who he was at the time of the opening of Jionji Temple. During the Heian period, it was designated as a goganji by Emperor Toba. It is said that during the Kamakura period, he had a close relationship with Oe Hiromoto, a neighboring feudal lord. During the Edo period, it was given the name of a chokuganji (chokuganji) by the shogunate, and it served as a temple of prayer for the protection of the nation. Currently, it is the head temple of the Jion sect, and was designated as a national historic site in 2014. Since it was under renovation, the exterior was hidden by a sheet and could not be seen. This temple is home to many Buddhist statues that are believed to have been created from the Heian period to the Muromachi period.

As of June 2020, it was under renovation and I couldn't see the Fujiwara-style main hall from the outside, but I'm glad I came. The treasure ring crest was cool, and a dragon and a maiden were painted on the ceiling inside the main hall. There are also a number of wooden statues that are designated as important national cultural properties. There doesn't seem to be anyone on duty on weekdays, so you have to press the intercom. Even though I pressed it, it didn't come (lol), but the admission ticket was the same as the one used for the Amida Exhibition in the fall of 2021 two years ago. That's also a good conversation topic (lol) I forget how much the admission fee was, but I think it was less than 1,000 yen. If you are reading this comment, please take a look inside the main hall so that your old admission tickets disappear as soon as possible. There are many things that can only be seen here. You can gaze into the eyes of the seated statue of Maitreya Bodhisattva, take the same pose as the wooden statue, or try to find meaning in the detailed decorations. The statue of Prince Shotoku holding a ladle is in really good condition. With the same admission ticket, you can also enter the Yakushido Hall next door.
