Located on the bank of the river, Jasmine Boat Restaurant offers picturesque views of the Mekong and is an ideal spot to witness Cambodia's famous sunset. While the restaurant itself could benefit from some cleaning and refurbishment, its cuisine is impressive, service is efficient, and it boasts an unbeatable location. This establishment provides an excellent setting to enjoy a refreshing beverage while admiring the river. Although the food may be slightly expensive, patrons are paying for the ambiance.
Variety of food , good khmer food, nice Sunday view

I know this is in a remote province and it is covid, but the prices are crazy when compared to the food quality and quantity. 9 dollars for fish and chips.... it might as well have been a snack plate. Nice place to watch the sunset and have a beer though.

This has to be the worst pizza I’ve ever eaten period. And as someone that’s gotten sick from school pizza that’s saying a lot. The pizza was rock hard and I mean rock hard. They should have advertised this pizza as a jaw workout session instead of just pizza because after eating one slice your jaws are going to feel like they’ve endured a workout. Would NOT recommend at all costs. You might as well starve.

17-20 August 2020 Jasmine Boat Restaurant, Kratie Because this was (I think) the only sit-down restaurant open to foreigners, I had a lot of experience with this restaurant. The view is great, either from the “bar” facing the river or from inside. A peaceful sheltered—yet open-air—feeling. And you get to watch people come and go to Koh Trong via the ferry. The iced lemon juice is fabulous—in presentation and in taste. The other highlight was the sesame sweet balls—delicious. However, when I tried to order the sesame sweet balls again later in the week, it took 30 minutes to let me know it was not available that day. The first two entrees I tried looked NOTHING like the photos: chive dumplings and fish and chips. In addition, communication amount staff was awkward— the first entree I received belonged to someone else. Later that day, I watched as my fish and chips was delivered to other tables (and rejected) before making its way to me. I was successful in getting hot coffee with milk one day. The next day, when I ordered, miscommunication brought me a cappuccino disappointingly in a paper cup—and a price difference of $2.00. The best meal was Lok Lak—-thought it didn’t look like the photo either. It comes with a dish of salt and pepper that you squeeze a lime into to create a delicious sauce. It was delicious. I was very thankful to have this lovely respite. 😊🙏🏼 #SoloTravelInCambodia

A quirky restaurant on the edge of the riverbank with sweeping views overlooking the Mekong, this is the perfect spot for watching the iconic sunset over Cambodia's river of life. Though the restaurant in itself can benefit from a good scrub up and a good renovation, the food is great, service was efficient and the location hard to beat.

Had a really disappointing experience here. Ordered cocktails on happy hour but we had no explanation on if the happy hour was 2 for 1 or a discount on cocktails, they only brought us 1 cocktail so we assumed it was a discounted price, but when we came to pay they charged us full price for a single cocktail. We also ordered a large Parma pizza, I understand that the pizza sizes here might not be the same as western sizes but the ‘large pizza’ was no more than 8 inches which is a small pizza! Was also missing half the toppings, no corn, peppers, mushrooms or olives. And they’d added on tomatoes and courgettes instead. Went to pay the bill and they’d added a 10% service charge, tried to tell the young waitress we didn’t want to pay it and she laughed. The issues were fixed by one of the more senior staff members as she took off the service charge and discounted the cocktail but the overall experience for an expensive restaurant was really bad.

Excellent place to watch the river with a good drink. Food is a little pricey but you're paying for atmosphere. Friendly and attentive staff makes the Jasmine Boat restaurant a must visit during any visit to Kratie.

Yammy dumplings and perfect, SURE PERFECT FRY VEGGIES with amazing view to Mekong River. Nice stop on way and chill. They also offer home made ice cream and pies.

I was at this restaurant with my family in 2015. We liked the view of the Mekong and morning breeze. Back then it took @20min for staff to bring breakfast for 5 pax; staff were a bit quiet e.g. no smiling interaction--perhaps they're serious with their job! The price was okay for us i.e. as someone with good salary from NGO. But, sure it's not price-friendly for the locals. We're the only guests for the two breakfast (mornings) we're in Kratie town. Hope thing got improved now!

Red Sun Restaurant Cafe & Bar is a welcoming spot with really friendly staff. They are accommodating to dietary preferences, making it easy to order vegan food by checking ingredients and requesting specific omissions. The food is delicious and more affordable compared to other tourist restaurants in Kratie. Additionally, the establishment also serves good coffee and operates as the office of a kayaking tour company offering excellent tours of the area.
Food was great at a really reasonable price! The restaurant and bar are open until the last guest leaves, although in Kratie, that may be fairly early. The staff are extraordinarily friendly and accommodating, and will often engage you in conversation, especially if they recognize you. Would recommend!!

Really friendly, welcoming staff. We were able to order vegan food very easily (by checking ingredients and asking for no fish sauce, no egg). The food was great and much cheaper than the other popular tourist restaurants in Kratie. Good coffee too. The restaurant is also the office of a kayaking tour company who do excellent tours of the area.

Over our stay in Kratie, we ate here a few times. We ate breakfasts & dinner. The herb omelette was great, & I loved the warm baquette that was served with it. My husband really liked his burger & fries, but he loved the fish & mushroom soup. We found the staff friendly & helpful. Thank you Hak & Lucky for making our stay so enjoyable.

Disgusting. Don’t order pizzas, they are the most miserable thing i’ve ever eat in my existence. On top of that, they are frozen and hard to digest. I would prefer to eat my hands than to eat their pizzas one more time. Good luck to find a good restaurant ! :)

A great little spot, massive range of food to choose from. The Cambodian origin coffee is amazing, the Loc Lak was delicious.

An awesome place to chill (especually at sunset) and enjoy some good food and nice place to mingle with locals and other travelers (fairly social). If you go, say, "hi! from Tony".

Very good food for a fair price, they speak english quiet well and organize tours for you if you ask, which are good and also relativly low priced

Operated by trainees, this casual guesthouse features open-air dining where guests can enjoy their meals. The rooms are well-appointed with two spacious beds, en-suite facilities, and a kettle for convenience. While there is no refrigerator provided, the air conditioning is top-notch and operates quietly. The staff is friendly and the overall ambiance of the guesthouse is pleasant.
A very nice place with friendly and helpful staff. We stayed there for two nights. Whenever we needed information about laundry or transportation, we received help. I recommend to everyone. They actually have a view of the river from their window. Although the climb to the upper floor is a bit steep, so if you have trouble with your legs it might be harder. The rooms were clean, we had good wifi. There was a kettle for water and tea and coffee in the room.

Pros: the room is very fully equipped. The price is reasonable. The location is good. The view over the water and sunset is lovely. It is clean with nice staff there is a restaurant on site. Cons: dodgy electricals making a hot shower impossible , sporadic water, sporadic wifi, very steep and challenging stairs to top floor rooms. One outlet only. The room smelled so heavily of perfumed detergent that I had to wear a mask to bed to breathe. Probably as good as it gets in Kratié for the price

Lovely spot and we feel a shame we couldn't stay longer but it's very in demand. We first went to sorya but they were full and recommended this place, so thankful for that! Very lovely room which is nicely spaced with great amenities. The internet connection is both stable and fast. The hotel itself is very large and all the staff were very hospitable. The stairs up to the room were super steep so our bags felt heavier than ever, but the staff helped with that too! We didn't have breakfast included but this room cost less than half the next hotel we stayed on the same road. It seems also that our dolphin kayak friend also recommends this place and says that the owners are good people, which is a lovely touch. The A/C was super effective too and they passed our obligatory bed bug check with a UV torch. They also helped us book an amazing transport to siem reap for 13 USD pp which took us door to door and arrived 2 hours early in a comfortable people carrier (smaller than those big minivans). I'd thoroughly recommend and feel bad that I didn't take more photos and videos to portray the lovely building.

Clean room, beautiful view over the Mekong, good AC The staff was very friendly and organised our tuktuk to go and see the dolphins Love the idea that this is a training facilities as well for young people

$18 for two adults per night. Two massive beds, on suite and kettle. No fridge. Air conditioning is very good and quiet! Nice rooms, look great as well. Staff friendly. Restaurant is joined to hotel so you can add it to your bill, had banana salad and chips... great, but Cambodian noodles and chicken curry weren’t anything special.

$15 for a double room ,clean spacious and quiet ,beautiful views of the Mekong river and sunset on the balcony, friendly staff and speaks good English can see the dolphins 12km away on a boat we’ll post a video on our YouTube channel about how it went @lovetravelcq

We stayed here for one night and had our meals here, too. Our room was nice, we shared a bathroom which was no problem, it was always available and very clean. The stuff is really super friendly and nice. But we were very disappointed with our food, our worst meal in Cambodia was here, unfortunately. We're vegan, so there is not much to choose from the menu anyway. We ordered veggie stir fry with coconut milk and something similar with just veggies and both dishes were really bad tasting. Nothing but soggy veggies, you can even see from photos it weren't nice. Breakfast menu had zero vegan options, everything comes with milk or butter or something animal based. We asked if we can get just a piece of bread and fruit, but they brought fruit with lots of cereal and no liquids, so it was not easy to swallow. Breakfast is 4$ per person. They have much room for improvement.

Great food at reasonable prices served by friendly staff. Don't miss the "Fish amok" and the "Loc lack beef", delicious! Free and reliable WiFi. Also, nice place to have a drink and see the non-stop activity of the nearby market.

Nice chilled out coffee shop. AC and clean bathrooms are a plus. Couldn't find a food menu and it doesn't look like they're serving food at the moment. So if you're looking for cafe style drinks like Italian soda and frappuccino with decent wifi this is your place.

Nice food, good location, great location for people watching. We had the Tofu Saraman Curry and Pineapple and Pork fried rice both were delicious!

Excellent food. Can rent bikes, and they can make bookings for you. Order the specialty! The only strange thing was the Boss or owner a European was yelling at the employees in front of all his customers. It turned a very nice location and restaurant into a very uncomfortable atmosphere. It just didn't feel good as a guest. Also there was some scuffle with someone that rented a scooter as well and he was yelling at some tourists. Great food but stay away from the owner!

Great little place in quiet Kratie. Great staff. Great owner. And in a perfect location for the town. Rooms available upstairs. Which were clean, with good facilities. The Khmer food is eaten by locals so you know it's good. The sandwiches and fries are awesome too. A great range of food and drinks. And some pretty sweet art work. Recommended

I like this place, a small and cozy place on the corner with a view on the market. I used to go here in the morning for my breakfast (that could be a little better) while watching the market starting to get crowded of local people, just before the tourists comes and under the morning light (around 7:45). I really enjoyed this small restaurant run by a western man and his wife. In the menu you can find some gazpacho too.

It was very nice taste and the food was so fresh. I don't know about the price but the taste I can say is very good for me.

Meh. The food was ok. I had the ginger chicken and it was pretty good. The chairs are hard flat seats and pretty uncomfortable. The food came out quickly. I had to walk over and get our condiment tray myself. Service was lackluster at best.

Interesting service (I think they were closing and trying to get us to leave quickly by closing all the doors and not turning on fans). We had the fried fish with ginger which was excellent. The fried rice w mixed vegetable was pretty basic w few and small veggies.

18 August 2020 3:00 pm LATE LUNCH Like in Kampong Cham in June, many restaurants are closed because of pandemic-relayed tourist issues. I peaked into this one on Tuesday and asked “eat here?” I saw others eating there and was welcomed in. I had an iced lemon tea and ginger beef. It arrived quickly and was very delicious—though I think it should have been called beef and shallots and onion. Since I had such good service and meal there, I tried two more times to eat there. Yesterday, I was waved off— and no one was dining, so I just thought the kitchen was closed. Today, others were eating there—yet I got waved off again. I suspect that it is because I am a foreigner. In the provinces (outside of Phnom Penh), people generally avoid foreigners out of fear of illness spread. I understand. #SoloTravelInCambodia

It's more agreeable that foods here are more expensive than those nearby. But they are delicious. If you don't like sweet taste, like me, ask them to not make your food sweet.
