When visiting Battambang, one of the must-try experiences is the Bamboo Train. This unique attraction offers a fun and inexpensive way to explore the countryside while enjoying the breeze on your face. The open bamboo platform rides along an old track, providing a glimpse of rural life. It's important to note that there are multiple bamboo train locations in the area, so be sure to visit the original one near the city. The ride typically lasts around 30 minutes and costs 10 USD per person.
This is a really fun and unique experience. Its a nice way to see a bit of the countryside, while having the wind in your face, riding the bamboo train. Visits from tourists really help out the locals and at 10 USD, it is very inexpensive. The locals now use regular trains for their transport needs, but it is really nice to experience this mode of transport and reflect on what their lives used to be like and the simple and ingenious way they solved a problem.
Fajaz K.C. - Hildebrandt — Google review
It certainly is fun and one to do. The drivers are very professional and the bamboo train tanks along abit on the second part of the track Wonderful scenery a must if your in Battambang and only $5 per person.
Paul Devon-Row — Google review
We loved the bamboo train. It’s great to see the countryside and feel the breeze of the wind n your face. Everyone was so friendly and waved to each other, saying hello, we were all different nationalities but everyone was excited about their ride.
Kelly O — Google review
This was fun and a bit different, but did feel like it was an experience solely for tourists. Was $5 each for 2 people, I believe it’s $10 dollars for one which seems expensive. We were riding the bamboo train for around 20mins each way and there was a break at one end where we were encouraged to buy drinks and clothing which was slightly uncomfortable.
Rory Fulton — Google review
Honestly it is a tourist scam... paid 10 dollars to go back and forth for 20 minutes. First to the one side of the station to stop after 5 minutes and then to the other side of the station to do the same. The scenery has something beautiful, but the train doesn't add anything for me and they also ask you to tip the driver... why would you ask for tip? A tip comes if you enjoyed a service and comes out of freewill.
Max — Google review
I enjoyed my experience at the Bamboo Train. It is completely different to anything I have ever done and is an interesting activity to do when in Battambang. I would really recommend bringing earplugs if your ears are sensitive because it is extremely loud, you can barely hear yourself talk whilst on it. Also, you are asked to tip the driver at the end but we didn’t because $5 per person is a decent amount when backpacking as it is? Don’t feel pressured to tip.
Emily Carter — Google review
This is the main reason why I came to Battambong, The Bamboo Train.
It’s a really fun experience. Located not too far from the city.

When you search on Google Maps. There is another bamboo train located 20km from the main city
which is not the original one. Don’t be confused. The ride will take around 30 minutes, 10 USD for 1 person, go ahead and backward when reaching the main road.
Don’t forget to apply sunblock to your skin. Because the sun in this place is very strong.

And I heard that this will be demolished soon. Because the government will restore the Cambodian railway system.
So if you want to experience this stuff, please come and visit in soon before it has been demolished.
Sahapab Photikum — Google review
This isn’t as much about scenic views or an experience out of this world. This is more about honouring the history of how they had to sneakily transport goods during hard times and experiencing an unique transportation system. We didn’t mind the price or spending a couple minutes with the locals while waiting for the big train to pass. We happily supported their community by shopping and paying for the ride. Everyone there were really lovely and welcoming.
Sandra Coco — Google review
Good experience of a unique heritage. Never in the world where we traveled we have seen such kind of transport. Was it expensive? In relative term “yes”. But why bother to spend 5$ to keep this unique track alive? Was it hot? Of course: you are in open sun. Where there shops at the end? Yes of course, you’re in Asia! (We didn’t see kids selling btw). You might consider to buy something: many of the people didn’t have any income for 2 years due to Corona. So overall for me and my family, travelling for many months now in SE Asia, it was great fun and a unique experience.
Tom Boermans — Google review
Fun experience. Simple ride with great views 5 USD each plus a little tip for the driver if you like. You end up at a little shop place for souvenirs then turn back
Chris Caruso — Google review
The Bamboo Train in Battambang was an authentic and adventurous experience. Despite the $5 cost, the traditional bamboo train ride amidst stunning rice fields and locals fishing was truly picturesque. The staff, although friendly and hardworking, could improve in coordinating schedules when encountering larger trains along the railway. Overall, a fantastic ride offering a glimpse into local life, but room for better coordination exists.
Rith Pisey — Google review
Very cool authentic experience to see how they transported stuff back in the day! Cool to get a close look on the rice fields and people working there! Gor to see a bit of their daily life!
Mathias Skjæran Landrø — Google review
Lovely experience if you visit Battambang. Journey costs $5 and takes around 40 minutes with a stop at a small village where the locals will try to see you things. Very comfortable and a nice way to see the beautiful landscape.
Izzy Kinnaird — Google review
The train is VERY loud, my partner had a headache after the ride. Was an interesting experience overall. We paid 10$ for 2 people and was asked to tip the driver at the end. The trip lasted for about 20 minutes and went through some fairy nice scenery of fields and smaller farms. Glad we did it but wouldn't do it again. Ear plugs would make it much better experience.
J F — Google review
The bamboo train was an experience! You just go up and down to a little shop but it’s really fun😂 It’s really hot in the sun though🥵 definitely recommend if it’s on your trip around Battambang 🇰🇭

The Ek Phnom Pagoda is an intriguing site located behind a new and ornate modern pagoda. The temple, dating back to the 11th century, is in ruins but still standing with the help of wooden scaffolds. Despite its current state, it holds a certain romantic charm that is enhanced by its lack of tourists during July 2020. Upon arrival, visitors may overlook the massive sitting Buddha statue situated behind a large tree until reaching the parking area.
Some carving still perfect. it us most ruined. it is built for a state reforming center at 11th century, the khmer empire
Devit Huotkeo — Google review
It's an interesting place. It's located behind a beautiful new pagoda. If you're coming from Battambang city centre, you will probably miss the huge Buddha until you go into the parking area - the statue is right behind a huge tree. Ek Phnom is a ruin, held up by wooden scaffolds. It's actually quite romantic... and at this time it's virtually tourist free (July 2020)
Timothy Hilgenberg — Google review
A nice small temple. Good to stroll around and take some photos. There were not any tourists besides us on this site. Entrance is $1 and going around takes around 15-20 minutes. Nextdoor one can find a large statue of a buddha.
Otso Mikonmaa — Google review
Not worth the ride It's a at least 20 to 25 minutes ride from the city center. What you will find is just another old Pagode Ruin Really nothing special or something to notify. More like a walk in a park. 1$ entrance fee
Qwen tuki — Google review
Probably a really cool tempel, if we were allowed to just go in it. We were greeted and they immediately wanted money of us for entree. After asking if the locals also need to pay, they said no. When I asked them to explain why they didn't have an answer for us. We just headed back because we didn't want to deal with being treated different because of our origin.

Phare Ponleu Selpak is a renowned circus managed by an organization that trains disadvantaged youth in various circus arts. The talented performers showcase impressive skills such as juggling, acrobatics, hula hooping, and dancing to music played by other artists. The project also includes an art school and kindergarten for children. Visitors can support the cause through a monthly sponsorship program. Many are deeply moved by the students' performances and find the experience incredibly meaningful.
Phare, the Cambodia circus. Great show, friendly staff. All the students there are really talented. Each month have their own schedule show. FYI: no plastic allowed in the place.
Sereyluck Sun — Google review
My partner and I had an incredible time visiting the school and watching the show. I was brought to tears by how moved I was by each and every single one of the student’s performances. We watched Rouge on 3/11 at 7PM - so so powerful. The price is more than justified, and if you have a problem with it as a tourist - no one is forcing you to go. It is wild to me to see poor ratings, as this was by far one of the most meaningful things I have had the honor to witness and experience in my life. Art changes lives, and you can feel it from the stage. Watching them learn and grow on the stage truly was so special. Something to think about: the price AND tourists paying more than locals is absolutely reasonable. If you can afford to fly your a** to Cambodia from another country, you can afford to pay the price for this ticket.
Stella Gold — Google review
We took our kids to this show my son described it as "an epic performance". Such passion and skill shown by the students, and the whole organization is such a worthy cause to support. Highly recommend a visit if you are in Battambang!
Fiona Lake Waslander — Google review
Great performance by the students of Phare circus. Even though their moves/stunts are not always perfect but their effort and determination are admirable. You can also book for a school tour in the day and come see the show in the evening at 7pm. It’s a great way to support these kids so that they can have good education and learn a skills which they can make a living.
Sherry Koh — Google review
Very nice show! The people on stage are passionate and the stunts were nice! A good mix of humor and acrobatics! I would recommend. Foreigners pay 16 dollars.
Hidde Fossen — Google review
After seeing the phare circus performance in Siem reap a few times we were excited to see the students who would be the next performers. We were not disappointed the show was incredible and the students demonstrated a high level of talent. Highly recommend to attend and arrive early to check out the artwork
Amilia Green — Google review
If you are in Battambang and they are giving a show while you're here, you should go. I was a bit torn, being not necessarily a huge circus fan myself and a tiny bit on the budget, but this was so worthwhile. It sure is not perfect, the costumes and scenery are not the most elaborate, but that honestly made the performances even more loveable. The two live musicians also brought a lot of energy, I adored it. I was truly impressed by the passion, but also that it was so well thought so as to please both locals and foreigners. It was actually quite funny too. Lots of talent here. Btw if you come a bit earlier, you can have a look at the school and some paintings displayed by the students as well. Thank you all for a very good moment.
Cam Cam — Google review
Watched both siem reap circus(by professional graduates) and batambong circus(by undergraduate). Batambang Circus; performers make mistakes on stage, but the audience love the entertainment. Performers will make the show comical and very candid about it. Love it! The instruments are made of pipes, Slippers, pot and pans. So creative! If you want a PERFECT performance, don't go. Bare in mind performers are taught with limited resources and from difficult situations. Support the circus school which provide Free education and a livelihood skills to the community.

Brilliant show and impressing project! Children and young adults are trained in various forms of arts, and all of them performed an impressive range of skills (acrobatics, hoolahoop, dances, etc), timed to music that was played by other artists (in the show "Holiday"). Would love to be able to see all of their shows! They also offer a monthly sponsorship program, which supports their art school, kindergarten, and gives these children the possibility to receive this training.
Antonia Helesic — Google review
Superb performance by those young students. Not only their skills are amazing, so is their enthusiasm and camaraderie. Don’t hesitate if you find it a bit expensive, the show is well worth it and it gives the youth a place to belong and a future.

Actually the dirtiest temple I have ever seen! The condition is not well. Lots of people sitting around a burning litter and plastics or throwing them into the little pond. Chicken, dogs and cats eating out of those huge garbage fields. Signs telling people should take care of their plastics? Its always easy to throw something on the ground if there is already a lot there. Cleaning it up would prevent further littering.

An ancient Buddhist pagoda. The former main temple is on the process of putting its name into the World Heritage list. The temple itself is full of glories and horror. During Khmer Krohorm period, the temple was used as a captive for prisoners who were mostly ordinary people. 10,008 people lost their lives. The compound is tranquil and filled with calm after the tragedy.

This is a one of Khmer pagoda located in Bartambang, Cambodia. The temple has a long story about it. If you travel to Battambang you can spend a half day for cycling to explore by yourself around area. Outside the pagoda a long the temple's fence you will see many local stores selling the special foods know as "Stick bamboo rice" please try to eat it when you come there. I hope you will have a great time in your journey.

An active temple with a horrofic history. The older temple around this area was used as a place to keep prisoners during the Khmer Rouge era. This is a good place to see before visiting the "Killing Fields" which are located right next to the Wat Samrong Knong.

It's an all new temple. There is a house that was used as a jail, and you can also see the torture museum, if you're interested in khmer history.

We went here on valentines day without a reservation and had no problem getting a table. The staff served us with a great smile and were lovely. Food was absolutely delicious, some of the best Cambodian food we've had. Highly recommend if you're in Battambang and are not too much on a budget.

Great little restaurant serving authentic high end Cambodia dishes. Little higher priced than others around the area. Delicious food and well worth a visit. Only downside was me needing a bigger stomach to try more dishes!!

Had diner with friends and we all tried the fish Amok which we believe is a Cambodian speciality. The dish is based on a steamed fish with coconut and lemongrass sauce , cashew nuts, served in a banana leaf with a side portion of jasmin rice. Absolutely delicious. I definitely recommend the restaurant for the food and the friendliness of the staff. Try it as you will not be disappointed.👌👍🙏

Pad thai was so salty. Even after they kindly changed it, it still remains quite salty. The service is good and drinks are yummy.
Jingiz Kasymov — Google review
Great restaurant, a little on the pricey side, but definitely worth the money. We ordered a selection of small plates (all bigger than we were expecting). For me the corn fritters and pork bao were standout dishes. The peanut sauce with the satay was also delicious and I loved the flavour of the pork belly salad (there was very little pork in it, which would be my only complaint). The calamari was tasty enough, but not quite as good as the other dishes. The large plate of banana flower chicken was definitely the weakest dish - chicken quite dry. I was also not overly impressed by the cocktails, a bit too sweet for my liking. Despite this, I’d still rate this restaurant 5* and if I ever come back to Battambang will definitely return

Amazing food, best restaurant we’ve been to in Cambodia. The eggplant mushroom dumplings were amazing and so were the jackfruit boa buns. Big cocktail list great vibes friendly service wish we had another night to try more from the menu

We had a fabulous food eating experience at this beautiful restaurant. Everything we tried was cooked perfectly with really unctuous flavours. We had the highly recommended mushroom and eggplant dumplings - I had to fight my wife for the last one - she won! 💪🏻😠. I had a very good Pad Thai and our other dish was the Cambodian Fish Amok. We had an excellent glass of wine here too - a nice accompaniment to the delicious food. Staff were very friendly and attentive and very professional. Drop in if your in the neighbourhood.

Tasty food. It has good portion of animal protein. The slow cooked braised beef was juicy and melting in the mouth with many aromatic herbs. A must-have dish if you like beef.

Jaan Bai, the social enterprise cafe, made our lunch memorable with their Nom Bang baguettes. While it stretched our backpacking budget, the expense felt justified for the meaningful social enterprise aspect. The cafe's charming decor and friendly staff created a pleasant atmosphere. The sandwiches were nothing short of amazing. A visit here is well worth it for both the culinary experience and the positive impact on the community.

A great meal at Jaan Bai. The food was delicious and the ethos of the restaurant is for a great cause too. The menu is great, with lots of options and a variety of dishes and creative options too (eat like a local - have what the staff ate for lunch!) and a great set menu option too. We enjoyed the black peppercorn tofu and the amok. Both were really tasty. The staff were very friendly and helpful too. Would highly recommend.

We were in eden...CafeEden two times in one day. So we try and taste one of the best coffe and later evening we get good food. The salat and roles were excellent. The Phily ( sandwich with pepers and meat) were for my taste had a little bit too much pfefer 😜 but the taste are diferent... definitly recomend if you nearby in Batambang.

Two eggs with two white toasts were $2.50 and additional two slices of bacon $1.50, it was really less than average for $4 breakfast. The bagel was nothing like a bagel, more like a bread in a bagel shape, that costs $3 Really would not recommend this, though the seatings and the restaurant ambience were pretty nice. Too bas the food was not up to standard. We didn’t try the coffee, maybe could have been a nice place to enjoy a glass of coffee/tea. Location is next to river, and there were one or two tables outside under the sun which was great

worth the price. nicely cooked, and they kept the lettuce/tomato/onion to the side so it would be fresh when I got home😇. fries were my favorite, lightly battered. very filling, I could not finish it all. they use biodegradeable bag and container. I usually eat "western food" about once a month and this was really good. waitress super nice. dining area was clean and had good variety of small and large tables. tried their onion rings, wow is not a side dish was main meal size to me. also got piña smoothie. happy staff here🙏🥰

This place was a nice reprieve just for one non-Cambodian meal 🙂 the food was decent overall and the employees were friendly and spoke English. The decor and bathrooms are nice! I had a crispy chicken burger with fries ($6.75) and a can of Anchor beer ($1.25). We also shared some Nanaimo bars for dessert since we are Canadian! Definitely not as good as home but it was really cool to see such an item on the menu here! 🤩 It took a little while for the food to come out but the burger was really tasty. They put a batter on their fries that no one in our group liked. I picked it off and ate the fries from inside anyway. I would be interested in trying other manu items if I had time.

The restaurant has received positive reviews and is recommended for those looking to experience authentic local food in the area. Additionally, Nary Kitchen also offers cooking classes, making it an ideal destination for food enthusiasts looking to learn about Cambodian culinary traditions.
Outstanding service from the first minute. This restaurant has both vegetarian and vegan options available for most dishes and the people working there have a good comprehension of what is and is not vegan. The gentleman that served us was extremely nice and helpful. He even provided us with free bananas as we were leaving. My dish, sweet and sour tofu with vegetables and steamed rice had tonnes of flavour and the perfect amount of spice for me. Probably my favourite meal in Battambang.

Today I did the cooking class with Nary Kitchen. First we went to the market with Ar Kun, his English was great and was very informative and showed us ingredients we were going to use as well as picking up some supplies. Then Toot lead the class, from the minute the class started to the end he was friendly, funny and spoke very good English. Couldn’t recommend doing this class enough. Food was so tasty and we received an e-menu with not only the recipes of what we cooked but other dishes!! All in all a great experience for $12.5 with such good quality ingredients.

Also very good value for money & a delicious feast at the end!

Excellent cooking class. Toot is very friendly and a typical chef, very encouraging but fast paced. It was nice to see the local market and how coconut milk is extracted. If you visit Battambang, this cooking class is simply in the top 3 thing’s to do here! We started off by visiting the fresh food market’s in town where I saw fresh coconut milk being churned from desiccated coconut. The cooking lesson started making veggie spring rolls, followed by a mortar and pestle amok paste, a lok lak, and then a banana and tapioca dessert. They prep and cooking steps were broken down to be fool proof so it felt quite easy at the time. Hopefully I can recreate these delicious Cambodian dishes when I go home and share a piece of Cambodian culture with my friend’s and family. The menu says beef etc., but they can cater to veggies and vegans too. I had a tofu amok, quite tasty indeed. You get a full plate of fresh food, a market tour, and a personal cooking class all for $10, it is worth it. Battambang will be the place where I learned how to make spring rolls as an adult so I can’t wait to spring roll everything!!

We ate food there and loved it so much we decided to do the cooking class the next morning. Toot (owner and teacher) always met us with a warm welcome and was genuinely happy to see us. The cooking class was a wonderful experience all round! Toot is super informative and helpful the whole way through without making anyone feel left out. He is incredibly skilled and is a great teacher. We cooked 3 meals and a dessert and they were all delicious! Getting to sit and eat all of them after with the group was lovely and we left suitably full! I would recommend both just eating there and doing the cooking class. No experience needed and caterers to all abilitys and dietary requirements. We ate there 3 times in 3 days as well as the cooking class. It's banging, go here.

We did the cooking class at Nary Kitchen and it was great. The market trip to start was very interesting and the food we cooked was absolutely delicious. We can’t wait to cook it once we get home!

Really enjoyable and informative cooking class. Loved going to the market first to collect fresh ingredients. The kitchen was very clean. Very good value for money as you make four traditional dishes. Thank you so much Nary & Toot for welcoming us into your kitchen. We definitely recommend this class!

We had a really fun afternoon learning/cooking some local dishes. Toot was a great teacher very fun and engaging. Thought he explained everything clearly and demonstrated all steps well for us to follow. The 3hours flew by as we were having a good time and Toot was also very entertaining a good guy! Listen if you have some free time I would highly recommend giving this a go, even if your complete beginner you would be fine! The kitchen area was very clean and everyone working there were very friendly and helpful. We sat down with our group after and got to eat our food… really really tasty! Not bad for $12.50 Thanks again Toot, top man 🙏👏

Absolutely loved our cooking class with toot! Only 4 of us for the evening class so very one on one! Super cheap price for a great variety of food! I was very impressed with toots English and he also spoke French for our friends in the class! This meant that there was nothing lost in communication and we learnt so much! Would recommend to a friend for sure! 10/10

I had a delightful dinner at this restaurant last evening. The fried noodles with vegetables I ordered were delicious, and it's great that they cater to vegetarians. The location, just 8 minutes from town, is convenient. What stood out most was the incredibly friendly owner and staff. Their kindness extended to offering complimentary bananas after the meal, which was a nice touch. Overall, a fantastic dining experience

The best cooking experience I had. Plus the food was amazing. The kitchen is super clean and Nary, her husband, Toot, and their son are amazing hosts. Highly recommend doing this experience if you are in Battambang! It’s a must! 🥰

Our first cooking class ever. It was so much fun. Time flew by so quickly. We first headed out to a market to buy some ingredients. Them we came back and started cooking. Too was an incredible teacher with good english skill. We made 4 different dishes and learned so much about the ingredients we were working with. And at the end we got to eat it all! Food was so freaking good Cambodian dishes. The class onky cost $12,5 and lasted 3,3 hours. We also got cookbooks sended to our email. This is a must do during your stay in Battambang!

Recommend the cooking class with chef Toot! He's a delightful and entertaining teacher. Includes trip to market for ingredients and they can do vegetarian and vegan - lots of very tasty food to eat at the end. Great value for money!! You can do it for lunch or dinner. I also ate here 2 other nights for dinner and the Lok Lak with tofu was my favourite meal yet in Cambodia - it was a taste sensation! I also loved the vege amok we made in class. I cannot recommend this place highly enough :)

An amazing cooking experience through 4 Cambodian traditional dishes, spring roll, Amok, Lok Lak and a dessert (banana and coconut milk pudin). Nary and Toot guide us all the way from going to the local market to source the ingredients to step by step preparing and cooking it before seating down to enjoy it. Super friendly, clean and relaxing environment. I highly recommend it. 5 out 5 stars definitely!

The restaurant is known for its delicious house-made noodles stirred into various dishes like fries and soups, with the duck noodle soup being highly recommended.
I really want to recommend everyone to try boiled dumplings!! I always order two plates. If you cannot wait boiling time, I also recommend to order fried rice. It’s very quickly and delicious!!

Really loved the food at this place! Liked that mostly Cambodians were here to eat, the prices are amazing and you get fresh jasmine tea with your food. If you don’t mind the place being very simple and are looking for authentically cooked food, I’d say you’re in the right spot.

The noodle soup taste is acceptable, not very delicious. The fried dumpling with chive tastes good, yet I could not finish it all by myself.

Tried their vegetarian dumplings. 8,000 Riel. Not bad. Boss speaks Mandarin.

Our favorite local restaurant! We just keep coming back for their simple but delicious dumplings, excellent fried rice and homely soup. Be aware it is not the most cleanest place.

After finding most restaurants in Laos and Cambodia (at least tourist oriented ones!) seemed to play it too safe in regards to flavour, this casual eatery was a very nice surprise! After confirming via Google translate that the dishes we were ordering were indeed truly vegetarian, we feasted on veg dumplings and the mysteriously named 'vegetarian food' menu item. This dish turned out to be a massive plate of gloriously spicy tofu with peppers! Tons of layered complex flavours. It was accompanied by plain rice. We used fresh garlic, chili paste, vinegar and soy sauce to make a dipping sauce for the dumplings as well as a perfect sauce to pour over the rice. Super satisfying

These are the best dumplings I've had in SE Asia. The absolute best. I travel 5 hours every few months just to enjoy this food for a few days. 14 dumplings for $2 is a steal; delicious! The other food is great also but these dumplings have made an addict out of me!!! Staff are lovely too. I travel a few hours every few months just for this restaurant!!

Delicious food cooked fresh in front of the restaurant. Our made to order fried dumplings were tasty and the perfect texture. As we’re our stir fried noodles. We will return for breakfast tomorrow to try their noodle soups.

I am a big fan of this Chinese noodle and dumpling shop. The food is Lanzhou-style (Northwestern China) so dumplings are steamed and fried rather than served in soup. They are freshly made each day, as are the handmade noodles. Having lived in China for six years, I would say this place is very authentic. The dipping sauce of black vinegar, chopped raw garlic, homemade chili oil and soy sauce was incredible. The food is prepared in front of us so it must be fresh. The atmosphere of the restaurant is simple but I love the painting of the owner making noodles on the wall. The menu is reasonable and there are several vegetarian options. One minor complaint. The cook was smoking a cigarette while preparing my dumplings which didn't seem very sanitary to me. But the finished product was amazing!

10/10, best dumplings i’ve ever had. having read the reviews we came with high expectations, and the dumplings were even better than hoped. the noodles were also delicious. great price also

Food was amazing! The dumplings were so good that we ordered them twice. A modest place but 100% worth it to try (really cheap as well)

Their fried dumplings are one of the best one for me. Shrimp fried rice and dried pork noodle are also really tasty! Looks like very local restaurant, but their taste is like a stars restaurant!

Kinyei Cafe is a popular dining spot in Battambang, Cambodia, offering great breakfast and brunch options. Located just outside the town center, it provides a picturesque setting surrounded by rice fields and local farmers near an ancient village and bamboo houses. The cafe is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with happy hour starting at 3 p.m. In addition to serving delicious meals, Kinyei Cafe also functions as an art gallery.
Lovely atmosphere and good western breakfast and lunch food. Prices are what you would expect for western food but I was very happy with the salmon bagel that I got. The coffee is good too, and staff are friendly. Calm and pretty place to work for a bit as well.

One of the few restaurants that open early enough at 7am in the area as we needed to catch our bus at 8am. Wish we found this restaurant earlier. The food was amazing! Must try if you’re in town and looking for some western breakfast/brunch, though price is a little high but definitely worth it. We had a breakfast burrito ($4.25) comes with sour cream and a little bit of salsa on side, bagel with jam and cream cheese ($2.75) and a Cambodian cappuccino ($2.50). The Cambodian cappuccino is quite interesting, with sugar palm, pineapple syrup and coconut milk if I remember it correctly. It’s not on the menu but written on a board near the counter. Just ask the staff if you want to try. Highly recommended!

What a lovely place! After a hot bike ride around town we had a wonderful lunch here. They have an AC area, but also a lovely upstairs area with view on the street. The food was amazing, can recommend the French toast with banana, pineapple & yoghurt, and the drinks were refreshing. The staff is super lovely and I love that it is a social mission.

A decent breakfast at Kinyei Cafe. The bagel with jam and cream cheese was nice. The jam was the standout for me! The eggs on toast was a generous size. We enjoyed our code and fresh juice too. The atmosphere of the cafe was relaxed and enjoyable. Wasn’t the best breakfast we’ve had, but an enjoyable one, in a nice setting with friendly staff too.

Came here for brunch today and had the grilled veg & hummus wrap which came with a little balsamic vinaigrette. It was really tasty and the portion was huge, too big for me so they kindly packaged it up for me to take away. My boyfriend had the wrap with grilled chicken and said it was equally as good. The macchiato was excellent also. Staff were super friendly and attentive, would come back if I was staying longer!

Lovely breakfast spot and social enterprise. Staff are super helpful, coffee is excellent and food tasty too. We particularly loved the pesto bagel (sounds odd but really good!), pancakes, eggs Benedict, muesli fruit bowl and toasties. So good we went back a second time in our short three day trip!

Loved this little spot hidden away in the corner of street 1.5. The staff was brilliant, all students who partly work there to practise their English so we had some lovely conversations with them. The breakfast burrito was probably the largest burrito I've ever seen and delicious. Coffee was really good too, some of the best we've had in Cambodia. Highly recommend this place for breakfast or lunch.

Our favourite breakfast spot in Battambang- we went twice on a four day trip. Delicious food in huge portions, tasty coffee, friendly staff, and great atmosphere. Sit upstairs on the balcony with the bougainvillea overlooking the street, so pretty. Absolutely recommend!

The perfect spot to relax or work in the morning. Everyone is very nice, and the breakfast with toast and scrambled eggs is just perfect (2.75$) I am adamant to review the coffee as I found it too strong for my taste, too dark roasted and hard to finish, but it has been a consistent experience in Cambodia (2.15$)
