Nice little local restaurant run by a family; basically a kitchen and a terrace with a roof. They serve fresh food: we had shrimps, a grilled fish, salads, fried rice. They don't serve alcohol but do fresh fruit juices. Not expensive.

On first try we loved the food (grilled fish and chicken, tomato soup), also the druit juices are really tasty. On second choose we had Tuna chopsey and tomato soup once more but in this time the food was not spiced and did not taste that good. The omelet with cheese and tomato was good.

We arrived at 6.45, we got the food at 9.20. But we've not only waited very long, they also forgot one meal. The food was OK (grilled fish, grilled cuddlefish, shrimps), but was clearly not worth waiting that long. Plus, no excuse, no smile, no arrangement. It ruined our evening.

Best restaurant in town run by a beautiful and friendly family, we decided to come everyday to have lunch because the food is so fresh and delicious and the whole family is just so kind and lovely. We felt like home. 🙏 Good vegetarian options aswell. I recommend the pinneaple juice and also the mix salad can't get enough of that so yummy!!

It was a super local place with fresh food and I enjoyed there my late lunch - deviled prawns! It was tasty and if I stayed more time around I would definitely come again.

Really good from the family table. Working on Sri Lankan time zone everything takes a lot of time but the food did not disappoint. Fish was incredible. My vegetarian meal was good but had me wishing I liked seafood.

In love with this place, but even more with the people. Hosting family is very charming and helpful. Very good breakfast and food generally. The owner speaks good English and always try to answer all questions. Surrounded by nature you can feel there like home 🏠

Good, affordable rooms. Place is spacious and clean and is fairly close to restaurants and beach. Neighbour next door also sells cheap fruit. Excellent service. One problem is that the place has an abundance of mosquitoes, and the bathroom doesn't have bug meshing so the bathroom gets swarmed by them during evenings.

We stayed here for 2 nights and it was really great! The host family is very kind and makes great dinners. There are 4 rooms for 2, every with private bathrooms and outside is a veranda, you can use it. It is about 50-100m from the sea.

We stayed in the property 3 nights in May 2019. Very close to the beach where you can rent a boat to go to Pigeon Island and to a very good restaurant where we ate all the nights. The room was very cheap (also due to low season I guess) and the breakfast was delicious and everyday different. The owner was so kind to take us to Trincomalee bus station for a very fair price.

Nice room surrounded by scenic environment which is very close to nilaveli beach. Owner is very kind and polite. They can arrange you food, bike for extra money( cheap compared to renting bike outside).

It was lovely to spend two days at That's why beach Cabanas! The staff is super (friendly and helpful). The beach is just a dream, blue water and soft sand. The vibe was relaxing and chill music was always playing on the background. The breakfast was yummy and the food tasty. The view from the window of our room was stunning and we also enjoyed the huge comfortable bed. Definitely a to do place to visit!!

The place is amazing! We ate lunch and dinner there and spend the whole day on the beach. The owner made the whole experience that day amazing because he even helped us with booking a snorkelling tour. Would go again!

Great Location in Nilaweli Beach. Very relaxing. Great concept and design of the Cabanas. Hotel can arrange transport to go to the town. In 3 Cabans we stayed, no Mosquito nets or Mosquito Coils. So ... almost sleepless nights !!!

I've spent 4 days in this little paradise with my friends. The cabanas are beautiful, cozy and all of them have air conditioning. The people who is working here is amazing, they're always trying to do the best for the customers. They've been my family for these days, and I really want to thank all the staff for their big smiles every day ❤️

Good food but the staff could be better, our waiter seemed … drunk. At least we could see him drink beer in the fridge… and they stopped the music when we arrived! If when they don’t have much tourist they don’t offer good service, they should not expect more tourists to come! Also very expensive lunch and do not speak English really well, hard to communicate.

The place looks perfect in the pictures and in reality is bad! They had to rearrange the room coz there were lot of ants in the bed. Even we found frogs in the room and bathroom. Beach area was good but the rooms are not worth of money. Food was also simply average and not up to expectation.Tea cups were not cleaned at all.

I am so happy to write a review to this hotel as I stayed for five days in a supper clean beach front cabana. The room was very clean and was so comfortable. The panoramic view from the room really gave me a mental relaxzation which I really expected during my stay. The hotel is so beautiful and specially I must mention about the restaurant which was very clean and tidy. The staff was very well traied and so caring and was so helpful. I had never gone though such delicious food which was prepared in a very clean kitchen by an excellent chef in srilankan beach hotel. The hospitality was excellent. I really recommend this hotel if you really want to spend the best vaccation in north east cost of srilanka- Tricomalee. We went there for dinner with family. Brilliant location and highly hospitable service. As is the norm in Nilaveli, the seafood is cooked fresh and we were not disappointed. We had grilled fish and Grilled Jumbo prawns. Both dishes were yummy. Good place to enjoy a leisurely dinner. Remember fresh food takes time to cook and hence don't be in a rush!

I usually right good reviews, the reason why I’m writing this is. We were given a cabana instead of the room we book for. It was nice of them to give us an upgrade room. However, the bathroom had two huge holes where my partner had to fix it before could use the shower. Arriving late from Polonnurawa, we decided that we will dine in the property itself as a lot of review was made raving about food. We were very disappointed with the food. For the starter we ordered squid, one would think being next to the ocean you will get fresh seafood. Based on checking not only we found out that the squid was 3 days old but it had the spine of squid it in. Personally I was very disgusted, hygiene was compromised. Then we shortly ordered devilled prawn with rice. This was a ketchup sweet gravy with absolutely unshelled prawns. We finally resorted to sandwich but by then I was done eating. And the morning breakfast option was egg, bread, butter and jam alongside tea and fruits. We paid very much premium for everything at this place and it’s was a rip off compared to everything we have experience in the last one week in Galle, Ella and Kandy.

The Cabanas weren’t available during the time we went and we booked a room. This place is quite affordable and has a very cool vibe. The view from the restaurant is also nice. Food is delicious but a bit on the expensive side. Wish it was closer to the train station but overall it was an amazing stay and got the chance to take many beautiful photos as well

Very good place! We stayed there with parents, child, and wife. It was really calm with fewer crowds. We loved the food, especially the Sri Lankan rice and curry. Nadun always took care of us. The only downside was the uncleared beach areas around the resort, but they tried to keep their own areas clean. The food was a bit expensive, but I really enjoyed it. I will go again.

I have been to quite a lot of beaches all around sri lanka including the famous ones but this one was number one, it’s beautiful, great beach for bathing, and in season surfing as well, if you want you could have your quit place and you could spend the hole day at the place eating good food and enjoying the people and beach.
