This is one of the best beaches in Block island. It’s around 15 min walk from the port. Better to go on bikes or car. They have ample parking and shower area. It has nice coast to walk or sit and relax and enjoy the views. This place gets busy on weekends be prepared to walk a bit to find the best spot to set up your umbrellas and chairs.

Really nice beach with super clear water that is easy to get to from the ferry. We were on the southern end out of the main area and loved it. The clarity of the water was very rare for New England. Would recommend for those doing day trips.

Magnificent!!!! It was the most fantastic few hours at the beach I ever had... the sky was so, so clear, the waves were delicious, and the best part - it's free!!!! I'm so glad someone at the ferry station recommended this beach, because it was AWESOME. Would totally recommend this to everyone.

Lovely, uncrowded beach the days we were there midweek. The water is crystal clear & the sand is soft. There are chairs & umbrellas available for rental. Paid showers are also available. It cost $2/token which gives you 4 minutes to rinse off. The confession stand serves for prepared by Rebecca's & our food was delicious & freshly made. I had a cheeseburger with lettuce tomato and pickles. It was a delightful surprise.

Great for families with kids or anyone who likes a tame beach. Waves are mild, not too high and very manageable for the average swimmer. The lifeguard is right in the middle of the beach, and the areas on either side are not guarded. You can fly a kite in the non-guarded places. Easy access (flat and close) from the parking lot. A clean bathroom is centrally located. Read the BI Times for events here (sometimes there are movie nights in the summer).

Incredible beach club in Block Island. Staff is extremely friendly, they go out of their way to make you happy. Food is absolutely delicious, drinks are well made and always fresh. Manager Mr. Lander is a true Leader and very professional and accommodating, he go out of his way to resolve any problems and make sure the guests feel welcome and happy. Live bands are well chosen for the place. Such an incredible vibe and amazing beach... I wish I had something negative to review about this place. I highly recommend.

My family and I had a wonderful time at Ballard Beach Resort on Block Island. We rented chairs and an umbrella. The view at Ballard's is amazing! The beach and the water are beautiful! The staff on the beach was great! Helpful and so friendly! Later on in the day we had lunch inside. Just like outside the service was great! I want to also recognize outstanding service by Rafael the restaurant manager who is obviously a constant professional all the time. He sensed something wasn't right and took care of it immediately. The world needs more Rafael's! Thank you! My family and I highly recommend visiting Ballard's Beach Resort! You will love it!

Ambiance is nice and food is good. However it is VERY expensive and they add a 25% gratuity for parties of more than 6 people and that includes small children. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Tables are very close together. Beautiful views. I wouldn't recommend for families but would for party people looking to experience a cool beach bar.

I visited this island recently. I went to Ballards. Needless to say it was by far the worst experience I have ever had. Place was dirty,packed and staff were run off their feet. Also 40 dollars for a cocktail that was supposed to be 'top shelf' alcohol and I saw it being made. I said to the staff. The staff were lovely. They finally admitted that management told them to replace with cheap liquor. The management seemed really rude and the staff actually seemed scared of them. Later spoke to some locals on my trip and was told they hire overseas and treat their staff horribly. Stay away and possibly report for exploration of staff. Disgusting abuse of staff and tourists. Much better places like beachhead.

Terrible experience, the majority of my meal was inedible. None of the staff seemed to care as they bussed my 30$ dish away without asking why. My gfs steak was disgusting and ultimately the manager decided wasting more then. A half hr of my time was a fair way to tell me he wouldn’t adjust our bill at all. Even after saying he would twice and handing me back the same bill unedited. Service and food was terrible 1 star is being modest . 100$+ wasted ruined our trips ending

Great place to grab delicious food and listen to music while having some drinks. Me and my girl enjoyed the outside bar right across from the main stage. Ramiro was awesome! Top notch service. What a great guy! Absolutely coming back and looking forward another great service again! Ballards is the best in town!

I went to Ballards for lunch and I spent the rest of the day at the beach. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. Rafael N, the Brazilian manager was the best. He assisted us with reservations and got us a great table, then he sold us on staying for the beach part - which was not initially part of our plan - and oh boy, that was great! The beach was perfect and they rent you whatever you need to have a comfortable stay at the beach. They also have a great live band playing. I couldn’t have asked for a better summer vacation!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Rafael is the best!!!!

This was my first time going to Block Island and I am blown away! It's absolutely beautiful! We stopped at Ballard's to finish our trip and eat lunch, this place is awesome! It's right on the beach and the food is delicious 😋 huge food menu and drink menu! I will absolutely be coming back. Rafael was super nice and made sure we had everything we needed.

great atmosphere to catch a drink and live music. the drinks were delicious but on the sweeter side. the food and drinks are pricey, but most places on the Island are during the tourist season in the summer. the weather was perfect that day so we got to enjoy sitting under the umbrellas, catching some vitamin D, and relaxing. Ballard's is close to the ferry dock so it's also a great place to relax at the end of the day before you catch a ride back to the mainland. the loss of one star was for some of their food. My favorite thing we ordered was their fries and lobster salad sliders. the burger sliders were not that great, and the fried chicken sliders we ordered were pretty ordinary.

Nice beach, can get very crowded but we got there in time for someone to give us their beach chairs so that was great. There are beach chairs and umbrellas there but you got to get there early if you want to snatch one up before it gets packed. It was so beautiful there today and the sun was shining bright. A live band was playing and the crowd was fun. People were nice there too. They check your bags and ID when you go into the beach facilities and they serve food and drinks to you while you relax on the beach. The water was nice and warm however, there is a dip while you walk into the water that can be surprising if you are not expecting it. Overall it was a beautiful beach day with my friends and family.

Very cool place to grab a drink. The place is massive with a number of different bars spread throughout the resort. The Espresso Martini was excellent. I didn't get a chance to get food but everything we saw come out of the kitchen looked very good. Can't wait to go back and try it out.

Really had terrible experience. Me and my fiancé came to Ballard’s for lunch and ordered California lobster roll, oysters, rom runner drink. Lobster roll was not as a described on a menu at all and waitress agree on that. Espresso martini was really bad and I asked to return it right away but they still put on our check and was really surprised when I asked that I don’t want to pay for it. Our waitress was clueless so she asked 5 times what do we want so overall not worth to come.

My wife and I stayed at Ballard’s for four nights. We’ve been to BI before and this time we wanted to be at the beach. We were wary due to some reviews about partying and service but we were pleasantly surprised. The room was nice and clean and updated. If I’m being honest, the ac was super loud but not really needed. The ceiling fan was awesome but it was clicking like crazy. It was nice for them to leave some beach towels so we didn’t need to rent. Halfway through they realized we’d brought some wine and they dropped a mini fridge in the room. It was very nice and thoughtful. The beach is awesome. To me, it’s the nicest beach in the northeast. Was in up to my neck and saw my feet. Calm water for the most part. Very little seaweed if any. Beautiful Sandy beach. Service was top notch. I think the bad reviews they get sometimes are because people go at peak hours and it’s just too busy. We ate lunch at Ballard’s 3 times. Once at 11:45 am and once at 2 pm and once on the beach. We didn’t go at 12:30 when they were busiest. The food was great. CA lobster roll was good and plentiful, calamari was spectacular, groupper sandwich was excellent too. Their breakfast was also great. I had an LI ice tea in the beach and it was super strong and tasty. They give you a flag and when it’s up they come. This way you’re not bothered incessantly if you don’t want something. The chairs and umbrellas and child cabanas did the job and were in good shape. Arrive before 10 am if you want your ideal spot. Were there a few things here and there that weren’t perfect? Sure. But all in all we were impressed with this place, It’s facilities, food and service team and wouldn’t hesitate to return. PS we were glad to have a security team present to make sure it didn’t get rowdy and it never did.

Food and atmosphere was great. Prices are in-line with other island establishments. Gave 3 stars because there is a 18% gratuity added to each check and the servers do not inform you and refused to provide itemized statement to review your bill.

Had a delicious breakfast at Ballard's yesterday. So much so we decided to come back again for another delicious meal! Great service and you can't beat that view. William and Rafael were very attentive.

Ballard’s is the absolute premier location on the Block. The beach is incredible, Cabana Service is over the top. The service staff is top Notch. The food and beverage menu has some incredible offerings. The Tuna Poke Bowl and Pineapple Chicken Bowl is a must try. The owner Steven Filipi runs an awesome operation. Can’t wait to come back.

Awesome lighthouse that we had the pleasure to tour today. There are two tour options: one where you go up into the tour ($15) and another where you stay in the main building and get to see historical artifacts and history of the building ($10). We did the tower tour and it was enjoyable. We learned that the lighthouse was originally powered with pig oil to keep the light burning and they had to shade the light during the day to prevent it from burning out. It would take about three gallons of oil to keep it burning all night. There were several 100 gallon barrels that were kept downstairs for this purpose. This lighthouse is still operational and has a lot of history attached to it. If you're the type who likes history (or even just lighthouses) these tours are absolutely worth a visit. Beautiful lighthouse, knowledgeable tour guides, and lots of historical fun facts.

The South East Lighthouse is a must stop when you are visiting block island. The views are breathtaking and the lighthouse is in Preston’s condition. There is ample parking for your bikes or if you are on moped. And the walk is short and easy up to the Lighthouse. Make sure you stop by.

We had done both the museum and the walking tour. The museum has two rooms on the bottom floor and three rooms upstairs. It contains information about the sailors and lighthouse keepers of the South East Light. As well as early settlers and keepsakes of those who once lived on the island. The walking tour was guided, and guests were allowed to go up the spiraling staircase and venture outside the deck of the lighthouse. Both tours were worth the money, and we can't wait to go back.

Nice view, we really enjoyed biking out from town to see the bluffs and this lighthouse. Not much to do except visit the gift shop or pay $10 per person to go upstairs by the light itself.

We stopped here while touring the island on scooters. The man inside was very friendly and knowledgeable. We did not go up due to time constraints but will if/when we go back to the island. The grounds were beautiful and well maintained, as was the lighthouse itself. The man appeared very proud when talking about it.

Beautiful lighthouse with incredible views from the top. Be sure to get the guided tour (US Coast Guard doesn't permit unguided tours to the top since it's an active lighthouse) and visit the museum, all for a $15-20 donation to help with restoration efforts. The tour guides are passionate about the history so it will be interesting! Truly a great treasure of the New England coast!!

This is a must do, if you are visiting Block Island. Block Island's South East Lighthouse, the Mohegan Bluffs and Payne's Stairs are worth the visit to take in the views of the coast. The walk down and up Payne's Stairs was easier than bike to get there. Great views of ocean, bluffs and Wind Farm that is 5 miles from the island.

Southeast Lighthouse in Block Island offers stunning ocean views, historical charm, and a memorable experience. Visitors appreciate its well-maintained structure and the informative tours provided. It's a must-visit for history and architecture enthusiasts.

Very relaxing nature walk. Go past the North lighthouse to the point, in certain seasons you'll see seals

Cute little lighthouse. You park about a quarter of a mile away from it and then have to walk along a sandy and rocky beach to see the building. Right now it is mostly closed off for renovations. It is a small lighthouse with some charming stone architecture. On the way up we saw a large amount of seals in the water, which was pretty neat. I don't see them on the mainland often. Due to the water being very warm, about 400 stick around in this northern part of the island year round. So if you'd like to see some seals, come here. None were on the beach this time. Of the two lighthouses on the island, the one on the south end is definitely more impressive. You can also go into the other one for two different tours and they have a gift shop that helps maintain these beautiful historic lighthouses.

It’s located far from the port. Plan to rent bikes to visit this place or go by taxi. It kind of has a nice scenic route that passes through the Block island restaurants and houses. There’s a gravel road across the beach where you need to walk to reach the light house. It opens at noon and there’s a museum inside.

Is a little difficult to walk on those pebbles. There were a lot of dead animal carcass while we were walking. It stinked also. Didn't get a chance to go to the light house. Since this place is surrounded by water on both the sides, it has its own beauty!

Call me crazy but I enjoyed this end of the island much more than Mohegan Bluffs. The grass covered sand dunes around the lighthouse are breathtaking. Very calm and picturesque area that I had all to myself for a long while.

Beach Walk was great - saw cool waves breaking on the beach and many seals.

Can only really walk up to it, didn't enter. Surrounded by sea gulls. Long walk through rocks or sand. Good if you like nature.

The North Lighthouse, located on the northern tip of Block Island, is a must-stop. This historic lighthouse sits overlooking Rhode Island. There is car and bike parking. And please know, there is a long walk along the beach to reach this Lighthouse. But it is definitely worth it. If you spend a day or more on Block Island, I encourage you to stop and see the North Lighthouse.

The lighthouse is a must when visiting Block Island. We hired a drive/guide and were very happy with the experience. Sometimes guide books don't do justice to the location. Our guide was a lifelong resident and pleasantly shared so much history and folklore about the island. I would definitely recommend a guide. The grounds surrounding the lighthouse are bare but beautiful. The view of the ocean is absolutely stunning. The drive out from the port might have been 20 minutes, but we were driving at a very casual pace. It wasn't crowded at all. For a building built in 1858, It seemed remarkably well maintained. The lighthouse was moved in August of 1993. The foundations motto was, " Nothing moves the imagination like a lighthouse, and nothing moves a lighthouse like imagination".

This beach has a very small parking area so car-pool, plan according. It's also quite a bit of a walk if you have lots of gear to carry BUT it's all worth it. The sand is soft and the water was clean. The kids loved the waves. And I took a stroll to the left and came across the cliffs and rocks. A very nice beach. Also no changing area. Just 3 porta potties.

Gorgeous and not too busy beach, with dirt cliffs on one side and open ocean on the other. You can walk from here straight back to town along the sand in about 3miles. Very nice

Amazing beach! The water is very clear and the sand is very soft. The seafloor can be rocky. It’s easy to walk to from the parking lot and there’s quite a lot of space. Even during COVID, it was easy to keep at least 6ft apart from other people. Also, it’s dog friendly!

Beautiful sandy beach with no shells and clean water. A perfect area to relax and take in the sun. Its also close to a few good restaurants. Highly recommended

Waves were immaculate! Water was gorgeous. Sand was pristine.

Great views and venue. Seating is open air. Peel and eat shrimp to start. Clam chowder was on point. Mud slides were popular at our table and the sushi was awesome.

I’ve been here a lot of times and have come to like their sushi a lot. I recommend their tuna loco. It’s affordable and service is fast. Takeaway is ready in ten minutes and onsite service is quick and always on hand to help. However the 6oz bling Angus burger leaves a lot to be improved. I also suggest trying their chicken strips with the sweet sriracha sauce.

Place was hopping for lunch but we sat in Adirondack chairs by the water.... best seats in the place! Food was solid and waitress hustling to provide superior service.

The spot to go to in BI for Sushi. Very open, a little hectic, but great food. Definitely recommend a reservation ahead of time, as it can get very busy and the waits can become pretty hefty. Overall great spot and a great experience for seafood right on the water.

Everything you've ever heard about The Oar having the best mudslides is absolutely true. We came here for the mudslides and ordered some mozzarella sticks too. Enjoyed our drinks with the beautiful view.

The Oar is a restaurant located on Block Island, Rhode Island. It has been in business since 1969 and is known for its fresh seafood, excellent drinks and stunning views of the ocean. I recently had the opportunity to dine at The Oar. We were all excited to try the food, as we had heard great things about it. When we arrived, we were immediately struck by the beautiful location. The restaurant is right on the water, and the views are simply stunning. We were outside at a table so we could enjoy the view while we ate and had some cocktails. We had a wonderful experience at The Oar. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was simply stunning. Our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. He was also happy to make recommendations. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an excellent dining experience on block island. The atmosphere at The Oar is simply stunning. The restaurant is right on the water, and the views are simply amazing. It is the perfect place to enjoy a meal and your relaxation time on block island. Overall, I had a wonderful experience at The Oar. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was simply stunning. IMO, a must in Block. We had the calamari as a starter and I had blackened scallops as an entree (phenomenal). My wife said her spicy tuna roll was a little too spicy for her liking.

Had okay crab cakes and clam chowder (light on clams, heavy on potatoes), along with a tuna tower I couldn’t finish, because of the dry tuna and fry crab mixture. I’ve heard sushi is the go to at this place, so if I go back I’ll be trying that instead. Staff was lovely, the place is huge and there was a gorgeous sunset.

This place has some very delicious food. I had the Cod Sandwich and it was frickin Amazing! Try it out and see.

When we make our way out to the Block each year, we always find ourselves coming to the Oar. They have a great atmosphere, view, menu, staff, etc. you name it, it’s pretty awesome here. The staff are always friendly, and despite the tourism season, you get seated pretty quickly. But they do offer copious amounts of seating both inside and out. The food is always fantastic, especially if your a seafood person. The mahi mahi , lobster roll , and sushi is amongst my faves. There are a lot of great places to visit here on the island, but the park is our favorite. Look forward to eating here in the seasons to come.

Really cool place to eat. Nice views of the harbor while enjoying beer and food. I went with classic lobster roll and fries. They have the cold version (I prefer buttered) but it was really tasty. Bit pricey place but good portions. Place is huge (outdoor seating) but service is quick and nice. I will come back next time.

Seafood dominant, and outdoor ready. Good, but not outstanding food. Great service. Nice view. You’ll be glad you came here so long as you’re mentally prepared for the check. If they manage to take their food to the next level (which just so happens to be the level their charging for), this would be a perfect 5. Still recommended.

beautiful view while having lunch. husband and I came here twice because the oysters were so good! both times! the first time I had a turkey club and it was really good. second time I had the the lobster club but the bread was hard and the lobster meat not so fresh. the cole slaw the first time was good but not the second time. the clam chowder was delicious and so was the husband's bloody mary and I don't drink! buy would definitely come again if we ever visit the island again

Very tasty seafood! Got the swordfish bites as an appetizer and they were amazing! Also enjoyed a lobster roll with hot butter. The lobster roll was packed of meat and delicious. Only negative thing I have to say about this establishment is that the service took a long time. Spent way to long waiting to order food once seated.

5-stars for the scenic location, good service, laid-back vibe, and good food. We sat outside on the deck and enjoyed everything. My husband ordered fried fish, and he's very, very picky about fish. He loved it and ate every bite. (And this a guy who usually takes a couple of bites and it done with fish.) I splurged on a lobster tail cocktail and added three jumbo shrimp to it. Excellent! The seafood was perfectly cooked - not over, not under.

Swordfish bites were excellent, New England clam chowder was good, wife loved her salad and the fish sandwich was fantastic.

Breathtaking ocean views sitting on the deck watching the harbor. Food was amazing, I highly recommend the Cajun swordfish bites! 😋 so juicy and tender! The lobster roll had some of the biggest portions of claw and tail meat I’ve ever seen! Server was friendly (Tommy), however service was a little slow. That being said, there were 3 servers to wait on the whole establishment, outside being the most packed

my shrimp salad was beautiful and ample. the triple layer chocolate cake was delicious. the drink was strong enough however, the oysters were small and our least favorite compared to the other places on the island (husband and i were visiting) our staff person was wonderful and ambiance wasn't too loud which is what I like

We had reservations for 6 people and it was a 45 minute wait. The other people in our party were running late and so we sat at a bar table instead. When our friends arrived later, they were flexible and accommodated them. The table was a little tight but we made it work. 3 of us order the special which was market fish ( Black Sea bass) with summer garden succotash, lemon basil cream sauce. It was fresh and delicious. One friend ordered fish and chips, the other ordered cheeseburgers and fries, and another friend ordered shrimp and salad. They said they were all delicious

This restaurant serves fresh, hot, delicious lunches and dinners. The Service is Excellent, The selection is awesome. All the dinners taste homemade with Great flavor, quality ingredients. Everything seems to be prepared fresh to order! Highly recommended when you visit Block Island. Try the Lobster Avocado 🥑 BLT for lunch!

Our food was great!! We had the crab cakes, the lobster roll and my husband had the turkey bolo. We sat on the lawn and it was really nice but we were in the back and could hear music blasting from the kitchen and the garbage trucks picking up garbage. Not the best timing but an overall good experience. This is our third time back to block island and we always eat here so would definitely recommend!

Cute cafe situated right near the center of town for breakfast or lunch. Stays very busy in the summer even on weekdays, so you have to wait. Small amount of indoor seating and decent amount of outdoor seating. Blush smoothie was amazing!

Stopped by here on our way to Crescent beach and we were not disappointed! The splendid egg sandwich was delicious—it felt very fresh. The blush smoothie was tasty. They were super busy and we had to wait a little for our food and drinks but it was well worth it. Cutest vibe. Will always make a stop here whenever in Block Island!

Hello, so I am really fun of Persephone’s kitchen, I always was sending people to this coffee shop, but this morning, was waiting 25 minutes for 2 cups of large latte, and one of them even was full! So I think at least “sorry” will work for that! Disappointed ☹️ not worth it to wait so long!

I went back for more, specifically the Blue Ginger smoothly. It is so blue and icey cold, I wanted to know what was in it. It is the Bluegreen Algae Superfoods, which I have had before. The algae is genuinely a living food that tastes like wet plant matter, but Persephone's kitchen also adds mango, jellied ginger and date bites and cinnamon. Ginger and Cinnamon almost cancel out one another's flavor, so at first it tasted like nothing at all, but the exotic aftertaste is still with me, and my tum tum still feels spicy warm after 3 hours and a hike onto Settlers Rock and the windy Seal Cubs point. Great recipe from Persephone's kitchen. Thank you Block Island.

Cozy breakfast spot! Great food and shakes but expect long lines and hard-to-find seating. If seating is unavailable, you can take the food to go to the town center minutes away. Lots of options and reasonable pricing. Take a look at the hand-written menu photos for food options.

Coffee wasn’t very good but that’s all we got. The food options looked delicious and they have vegan options too. I’d definitely come back for it. But if the line is long and you’re just planning on getting coffee just skip it.

Best cup of coffee on Block Island!! There are several places to go for a good cup of coffee on this island, but I’ve literally never been disappointed at Persephone’s Kitchen.. Lots of great hot drinks, iced coffees, iced teas, smoothies and even kombuchas.. They’ve got a full menu of sandwiches, salads and bowls as well as plenty of delicious baked goods.. Seems like it’s the most popular coffee shop in town so there’s always a few people in there, but never a long wait.. Definitely the best spot if you’re looking for your morning coffee fix or a mid-day pick-me-up..

The breakfast here is incredible. This is our second time vacationing on Block Island and going to Persephone’s for breakfast is always a must!! We love the splendid egg sandwich but everything looks incredible! Definitely stop by!

So good, my first stop off the ferry each time. Long wait times but it’s worth it. Splendid Egg Sandwich is properly named. Ciabatta bread is very good. Iced teas are also good. Frittata is okay- kinda greasy. Expensive- but so is everything in Block Island.

My wife and I really enjoyed this place. We both ended up sharing our choices because they both were so yummy! I had the blue ginger smoothie... very flavorful and great nutrition. My wife had the avocado toast...a very tasty choice. It's a small establishment with outside and inside seating. The staff are very friendly.

Super cute local cafe! Bacon egg avo arugula sammy, fireball am shot, and blueberry lemon ricotta muffin were all excellent! Will definitely return.

Expensive for a poor people’s pub. And the food wasn’t nearly as good as the other reviews say. We didn’t even really finish it. It wasn’t BAD, just average. Definitely a fun atmosphere though! Have a beer and watch the game vibe for sure, which i like. The waitress wasn’t all that tentative either. Most likely wouldn’t go back from the experience i had but could’ve just been an off night for the chef. Doesn’t change the price on those $17 fish tacos.

Wow! Amazing food! Best burger I have had at a restaurant in many years, my wife and I both agreed. Pulled pork easy great as well. Very good service. Good selection of draft beers. I really liked the casual atmosphere. Very reasonable prices. I will be back!

Warm welcoming atmosphere. Sam the bartender was very pleasant , friendly and engaging.Makes great drinks. The pizza is fantastic .Plenty of toppings and great taste Perfectly crisp. The stuffy though was a very dense breading with little to no flavor.The lobster chowder was good.Plenty of lobster but I missed the corn. The food came out perfectly hot The hardest part is parking

While walking around block island for the first time, i tried my best to ask locals about restaurants. It happened that many of those i met , suggested poor people’s pub as a great place for a quick bite. They were not wrong. It had live music, nice atmosphere and friendly staff; however, the host was not the nicest. We had two orders: 1- a burger with fries—- the fries were so delicious; however, the burger was just an average. They did not even ask us how DO WE WANT IT TO BE COOKED. Anyway, the burger afterall wasnt that bad. For the second order, we had the mac & cheese and i added the buffolo chicken with an extra charge. Boy that was delicious. It came over a hot skillet.

What kind of place is " not sure if they can make a sea breeze,and then when I ordered my burger WELL DONE, the waitress says " we cook them through,but I can't guarantee that it will be WELL. Granted this was in early SEPT. Maybe all the regular staff has gone. You know how to make a burger well done? Leave it on the grill a little longer. It's not rocket science . Overall Poor People's Pub is good for the price. Atmosphere was a little rough around the edges with customers who use foul language. Excellent waiter and the food arrived in the right amount of time. Ordered the BBQ Platter which was okay (pulled pork was cold) and French Onion Soup (very good).

My family and I ended up at this restaurant after we showed up at Kimberly's and realized they weren't open for lunch. I'm happy that they had outdoor seating, because we had our dog with us. The food was served pretty quickly and it wasn't expensive. I ordered the lobster roll, which was pretty good, especially because I don't enjoy mayonnaise. Besides the other two photos of food that I attached, which were the Local burger and fish tacos, we also got a caesar salad. It was normal. My parents complained that the burger and tacos were leaking too much juice, and three quarters of my plate was just potato chips, so that's why it's a solid 4 stars. I'm also a little curious about whether everyone got chips, or if some people got fries as the default side. Also, there was a nice bird :))

We were in the island 4 days and ended up eating here 3 times. We were very impressed by the food quantity, quality, and quickness. The lobster roll had a generous amount of delicious fresh lobster. The Mac and cheese was well made and came in a small cast iron pan. One of the servers said people don’t order the spinach artichoke dip enough and they are missing out… and she was right. Creamiest cheesiest dip served in a bread bowl. Fries have a nice salt on them. Our final time there one of us ordered the veggie burger for the first time-it was a strange taste and texture and looked as though it had freezer burn. The server told us they are not frozen so that couldn’t be the case and that what we were seeing was Panko. We asked to order something else which is not something we typically do and even though it was very busy, they accommodated and were kind about it. Nice indoor and outdoor seating options, bathrooms are private room/typical bar fare. Looking forward to coming back next trip here!

Cool gritty pub atmosphere. I was a bit apprehensive coming here reading some reviews…However, so glad I did. The smokehouse burger and fries were perfect! Plenty of beers to choose from.

Been here a few times and the last time we went, will be the last time we went. Place wasn't busy, my pizza was soup, literally. I won't bother going on about service. They did finally realize pizza shouldn't be eaten with a spoon and took it off the bill, tried to offer a new one but we politely declined.

Had a fantastic meal here - the mac and cheese with lobster was excellent (and FILLED with lobster) and the buffalo wing dip was a big hit. Prices were reasonable for the island and the service was excellent. It was October and we were still able to sit outside on the porch which was really nice! Off season so parking wasn't terrible (we just parked in the lot across the street).

Fun type of restaurant with many different food options. Nice drink selection and wait staff is friendly. The decor of the restaurant is very cool ! Really enjoyed the $3 brown bag mystery shot.

Excellent dinner that featured some of the best fish we have ever had. The flavor was incredible with a fine balance of complementing the fish but not overpowering. Although they were out of blackberries for one of the cocktails we wanted the bartender made a drink that was similar and flavorful. The service was prompt and friendly.

The roasted garlic cloves with the bread were the best thing I've had in a long time. The food was also amazing. 5 stars is simply not enough for this restaurant.

I’ve been coming here for years. Service was not good this time. Appetizers were great. Main meals were not. It seemed like main dishes were sitting for a long time. Pics are from doggy bag. Chicken and salmon were not good. Steak was also not as expected. I hope it goes back to 5 stars and this was a fluke.

Listen I’m honest.... I’ve never thought twice about lobster Mac and cheese.... always overrated until tonight. It turns out every place else makes it wrong... this was pure fire! Incredible. Fresh bread comes to the table with a roasted clove of garlic and cheese. Wonderful. I know my filet mignon, and it with the cheddar cheese au gratin was unreal, but since my wife and I always split our entree (to my benefit) the swordfish with the cheddar polenta was equally ridiculous. Despite the clueless, but sweet, waitress and the awfully made drink (lemon basil smash.... too sweet).... this meal was incredible. Not cheap but really really really freakin good food!

Review 2022: see review below - this place is certainly a must while you visit BI and in the top 3 restaurants on the island as of 2022. From what I understand there is a new chef who is putting his spin on some dishes which is great - complacency is a horrible thing - however there seem to be some evolution pumps with some dishes - again in the top 3 for restaurants on the island. Highly recommend. Review reflecting many years prior to 2021: Every time my wife and I head to Block Island we make a reservation at Winfield’s. This place has held the title, in our world, as our favorite restaurant in Block Island for years. In the photos below you can see the lobster mac and cheese and the tuna tartare apps and then you see the cod main along with the pork meatloaf. Amazing!

Out of staters from the New York Metro area visiting the Island for 3 days and Winfields was hands down the best. We had 4 meals between the 2 of us and all were spot on. Fish was excellent and pork chop perfect. Service great and attentive, salads fresh and drinks well done. No question this is a must go to place for those with an educative pallet.

Favorite restaurant on the island for my partner and me for over 25 years. The food never disappoints and it’s worth going just to experience the warm bread and garlic butter. Similar to other restaurants on the island, service was disappointing. We were a table of 9 squeezed into a corner. We ordered drinks and food when we sat and never saw the waiter again. We would have liked to have ordered a second round of drinks or would have settled for water refills but couldn’t get anyone’s attention. We finally had to request, and received, water refills when we got the check. We ordered steaks, fish, and chicken but no knives were provided so we all shared the three butter knives still on the table. All in all, while the food was excellent, my party would rather have been at a restaurant with a view and better service while on vacation. We’ll be back next year but I won’t be bringing friends as none of them were impressed…
