Food & Drink
Castle Danger Brewery is a popular spot in downtown Two Harbors, offering a wide range of legendary beers known for their balanced and approachable flavors. The brewery features a 30 barrel brewing system, canning line, and a contemporary yet rustic taproom with an outdoor patio overlooking Lake Superior. Visitors can enjoy tasting the delectable brews while taking in the fresh breeze from the lake.
Out of all the breweries on the North Shore, Castle Danger is my favourite. The beers are always incredible, and they have the best outdoor seating. It's a worthwhile stop each and every time. The seasonal beers never disappoint!

We've been meaning to come here for years and finally made it! Of course, it is all we expected it to be & more! Amazing service, exceptional brews, views of the lake! We enjoyed our drinks out on the patio - 100% recommend!
Rosa — Google review
Large brewery, with a huge selection of high quality beers (I like the cream ale), lots of space inside and out for large groups, and some nooks where your family can play board games. I was here in the off season, but you can tell they are set up to service lots of tourists in the summer. There are also some interesting other cool establishments within walking distance. Check this place out if you’re touring the north shore!

Amazing place to visit while in Two Harbors, MN. Very clean, comfortable and outstanding staff. Great place to hang out with friends and play games on a dreary Minnesota Spring Day. Cannot wait to enjoy sitting on the patio this summer.

What’s not to love? Castle Danger is a great brewery in the heart of Two Harbors. We stopped in after a long trip in the BWCA. It was a beautiful day and there is no better spot to spend it. They brewery has all their current beers on tap and also has games to spend the day playing. Really fun and worth a stop!
Brian Rude — Google review
Good beers. Nice spacious tasting room and outdoor area (weather permitting). Will sometimes have food trucks 🚚 .
Brian Rector — Google review
After drinking the beer for years it was nice to finally come up to the brewery. The patio has lots of seating options and allows dogs. There was a food truck the day we visited as well. The rewards program is really easy to join too. Your card links you to a toast rewards program, the app makes it easy to manage your rewards.
Anna Tesdahl — Google review
HUGE patio and picnic seating. Love that they have chips and salsa for sale, as well as food trucks stopping by. We enjoyed getting the flights and trying all kinds of their beers. Their patio became the perfect end to each of our days in Two Harbor after we hiked and before we went to dinner.
E. Johnson — Google review
Having grown up in MInnesota and explored many breweries across the state, Castle Danger sits atop my list as number 1. With the great selection of beers and a little north shore magic added in, there’s no better place to enjoy craft beer. Staff is super friendly and the location provides plenty of space during any season.

Great beer and atmosphere for relaxing. Went there with the fam and had a beer flight and food from Emma's Food Truck (excellent shawarma)
Jeffrey Schwentner — Google review
Awesome patio that is pet friendly. Bathroom is clean and has a cool vide. Plenty of nearby parking. Take a short walk to the lake if you want after your beer!!
Russell Milles — Google review
I finally got a change to visit this tap room and it did not disappoint! My flight was great and the outdoor area was huge and spacious with lots of outdoor activities and a food truck! Lots of merchandise to buy. A great summer evening activity in the True North!

I've had this beer so many times in Minneapolis and I'm so pumped to actually be here. It's a great vibe with tons of puppers! The best little surprise was finding vegan ice cream options! Such a great place to hang out. Beer is reasonably priced and there is a mountain of outdoor seating. Love this place.
Dan Epp — Google review
Chill staff, smooth brews, orange crème’s the best we can argue all day over it, very put together back patio and activity/eating spot! Try Emma’s chicken Shawarma!

What a great treat this brewery was. They even had a barbecue place there We decided to get a brisket sandwich which was incredible! And talk about going good with beer! Absolutely love this place and we'll go back again and again and again and again. Every time I come to Duluth I will come here They had excellent beers and beautiful ambiance lots of outdoor patio seating indoor seating and a great store with great prices. Support them by buying a t-shirt, a sweatshirt and two of their custom printed beer glasses. Love this place!!!!!

Have been wanting to get to castle danger for a long time and it did not disappoint! Walking in it smells like they actually brew beer on site. Huge selection of beers. Have to have the cream ale on tap. The outdoor patio is great! It has a lot of seating and food truck on site

Best Brewery on the North Shore , Best beers and some neat snacks and some of the best decks to enjoy the Lake and Trains going by. Definitely do not miss it if you're in Two Harbors or heading up the shore .... don't forget to walk around the breakwater and the lighthouse afterward .. and if there's snow on the ground .. even better !!! .. 😉

This is a really great place if you're looking for anything in your home if it was built between 1880-1980. Tons of door knobs, sinks, lamps, tables, doors, etc... Always an interesting search, and a very friendly dog!
Ian Christensen — Google review
Great selection of building materials, antiques, etc. Pricey on some it's, but really it's hard to put a value on most of the inventory.
Stephen Suss — Google review
Don't go. People who work here are just RUDE. We have tried to shop here 5 times past year. Walked out after being treated rudely! Again! Never used to be that way. The owner is a very nice person. But staying out of there now. Drive to shop there Intentionally from about 80 miles away. NEVER AGAIN!
Josh Hillman — Google review
Not a knick knack type of antique shop. Just what the name says: architectural antiques. Huge old light fixtures - clawfoot tubs - doors and trim of every variety. It's neatly arranged and not difficult to find what you're looking for.
Gerald Bruno — Google review
So much old and cool stuff to look at!
Jonathan Anderson — Google review
super cool architectural antique store. my home is older and its always nice to stop in a place like this to see what is being saved and salvaged from older homes. everything from outlet covers to full blown built-in units. if you have a need for an older home, this place is worth a stop... tons of doors, tin tiles, and some really neat finds!
Angela Pearson — Google review
It's name is self explanatory but there are other treasures to be had if antiquing is on your agenda. The staff know there stuff, the prices are reasonable and the item quality is superb. It's worth a walk through if you're in the area even if you aren't hunting vintage items. Do yourself a favor and swing through.
Jason “Rev Bad Decisions” Hungerford — Google review
This place was really interesting to stop in and see. I am an architecture student so it was neat to see some history up close and personal. I actually went to grab some doorknobs for my place and the guy working was teaching me about what was wrong with the ones at my place! Very friendly, very helpful, and stopped me from accidentally buying doorknobs that wouldn't work for my door. Haha.
Aryanna Albee — Google review
Great shop! Knowledgeable staff, well organized and clean. We found period glass shades for our 1898 light fixture reasonably priced, can’t wait to stop back on our next trip.

No sense of how to be polite to someone walking in the door wearing a mask, per their own restrictions. Edit for response: Wow, now you're making up a story that didn't happen. Not once did I pull down my mask, and if you're not aware the cdc changed their guidelines, which are just that, guidelines, not laws, so that restriction is on you not them. I walked in and without a hello, how are you, thanks for coming in, excuse me, could you please, or anything pleasant at all, you said, "hey! pull your mask up fully over your nose or just go ahead and leave." I wasn't even in the store more than thirty seconds.

Coffee shop
Nestled in the serene woodlands of Two Harbors, Minnesota, Cedar Coffee Company is a charming cafe that offers a perfect pick-me-up. This family-owned coffee shop is known for its delicious coffee and welcoming atmosphere. The cozy mountain-style home features large windows and a spacious backyard with communal picnic tables, making it an ideal spot to relax with your furry friend.
So delicious we went twice in one day! We stopped by for breakfast pretty early today and then on our way back through town we picked up another yummy coffee and gifts for friends (and ourselves :-D) They had great substitutions for my dairy free kiddo so they had a hot chocolate and said it was the best they’d ever had! All the food we had was super too. My rec is the breakfast croissant but we all ordered something different and all enjoyed it. Cool setting, nice vibe. Stop if you’re in Two Harbors and want some delicious (strong) coffee.
Jennifer Eldridge Calder?n — Google review
Cedar Coffee Company is a delightful gem that offers more than just a cup of coffee. During my recent visit, I was impressed by the barista's expertise and willingness to craft the perfect drink to suit my taste. I asked for a sweet caffeinated drink with macadamia milk, and what I received was nothing short of perfection. My husband, intrigued by the barista's skill, asked for their favorite drink and was served a mocha cappuccino. He found it to be quite good, and we both appreciated the personal touch. But what truly sets Cedar Coffee Company apart is the atmosphere. The cafe is cozy, and the outdoor seating is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy nature. As I sipped my coffee in the back seating area, the pleasant smell of cedar wood filled the air, adding to the serene ambiance. The cafe has a clear policy that only service dogs are welcome inside, but all dogs are allowed on their patio, making it a friendly spot for dog owners. We noticed other patrons enjoying the patio with their dogs, and the trail behind the cafe seems to invite exploration. Whether you're looking for a personalized coffee experience, a place to unwind with your furry friend, or a starting point for a scenic walk, Cedar Coffee Company has it all. The unique cedar aroma adds a special touch that makes the experience even more memorable. We'll definitely be returning soon! EDIT: You're welcome! Yes. Feel free to share the review on your social pages.

I went to the North Shore (Duluth etc) for a wedding near Two Harbors and found this awesome place. The lattes, croissants, and pain au chocolat were perfect and delicious and every single person working there was so welcoming and friendly... But also, there's just a happy vibe that everyone behind the counter had... With anyone visiting and with each other too. The seating is appealing and you can be inside or outside in a beautiful, natural area. What a great place! If I lived closer, that's where I would go all the time!
Cynthia Prinzing — Google review
Lovely and cute cafe. Our barista Hannah was very knowledgeable and her drink recommendations were very good. Despite having several very specific modifications to our coffee, they made it perfectly for us. There were plenty of people ordering both food and beverages but the orders, including ours, came out very quickly. The outdoor seating area is fantastic with a picnic like setting amid tall trees and with plenty of shade. They have several cafe food options such as sandwiches and wraps, I would like to definitely try them during our next visit.
Sruthi Venkataramanababu — Google review
This is a lovely and well-kept coffee shop. Baristas are friendly and my maple iced latte was very tasty. I really appreciated all the seating options and it was so peaceful to sit among the trees. I also picked up some local artwork and a bag of Duluth Coffee Company beans. I’ll be back!
B Marie — Google review
This was a very picturesque coffee shop/breakfast or lunch spot. *We went around 11am on a Sunday and it was so busy! There wasn't anywhere to sit unless we went outside (which also looked very cool!) but it was a windy/chilly day and would've been too cold for me (but not for others, as you can see in the pic). Tables did end up opening up of course, but I will also say that I only came for a coffee to go so I didn't mind that there was limited seating. If anything, it's most likely a testament to how good this place is. *Speaking of the coffee, it was SO GOOD! I ordered the large iced maple latte and loved it. ❤️ However, if you usually enjoy overly sweet drinks then you may want to add some type of sweetener. *I did not order any food so I cannot speak to that. Maybe next time. *Price: Okay, this is where my review lost a star. Like I said, I ordered a large iced latte and added maple flavor. $8 and some change. $8?! I mean, it was delicious though so I have no regrets. *Overall, I would come here again. Maybe at an odd time of day during the week to hopefully miss the crowds.

Stopped in for the first time and was very impressed! It's exactly what new prague needed! It's clean modern authentic coffee shop! Amazing food options to pair with well crafted coffee! 1000× better than sugar drowned caribou! And owner is so warm! It won me over!

Great coffee! A very, very nice place to enjoy very good coffee and breakfast sandwiches surrounded by trees. Easy ro get there and good attention.
Marcelo Calder?n — Google review
Love the vibe, atmosphere and setting. It's like sitting in a cedar grove. Large outdoor space. Art on the walls, clean, fresh and open feeling. Limited breakfast options. Although you want to sit down and enjoy your food in this lovely setting, the food is served to go, wrapped and not on a plate. Not a fan of the plastic cutlery. Good value. Food was pretty typical for a coffee shop. Not a sit down full service restaurant. Solid for what it is. Order at the counter, no table service.
Lee Witte — Google review
Amazing place. Beautiful wooded setting with outdoor seating and a cozy inside if it's too chilly outside. Good espresso and their lemon white chocolate scone is perfect. Your coffee shop is the best, Dan.

Such a marvelous place to stop for coffee! Especially in the Winter away from highway..we had a great experience here and loved the ambient accommodating atmosphere. Coffee and service is great!! It's a great place to for quick stop to relax and stretch your body on this beautiful drive on Lake Superior Minnesota!!

Great spot to enjoy a relaxing cup of coffee. Better on a dry day where you can enjoy that coffee in the cedar Grove. I just got a small black coffee and sat outside for a bit before deciding to take my cup up the road. Busy spot, lots of people coming and going. Nice that they have a wall of art for sale. Dog friendly outside at least.

Yum. Great coffee, matcha, and food (peanut butter/sriracha toast - who knew???). The staff were also exceptional. We wish we wouldn’t have waited for the last day of our weekend trip to try this place out!
Heidi Mausolf — Google review
First timer. I order the 16 oz Matcha Latte, iced. For 16 oz, it was mainly filled with ice than the drink itself. I was a bit disappointed. Really wanted to enjoy the drink. Maybe next time if I ever go back in the summertime, I’ll ask for lesser ice.

Stopped on the way out of town. One of the best cups I’ve had in a while. Felt like a true hipster and ordered the avocado toast 10/10 would do again. Great vibes, even had time to check out the Cedaero bags in the attached shop.

It is a classic spot for locals to toss spoons for Lake Trout, bobbers for Coho, and bottom rigs for Burbot at night. It's an excellent spot for tourists to visit as well. The pier allows you to experience the Lake without needing a boat or if you just want to take a walk. Overall, it's an iconic landmark of Two Harbors that is treasured by locals and tourists alike.

Super fun! Great gift shop. We lid the extra $5 to see the other buildings on property. Definitely worth supporting to preserve this gem! Pictures are views from the light house!

Nilesh Naik — Google review
Two light houses that can be seen in one park. So beautiful on a brisk, windy, autumn day. Wonderful waves crashing on the walkway (visible from shore). I think in the summer when it is calm people can walk out to the white light house. Close walk down to see the harbor and historic boat.
Anne Towner — Google review
We walked out on the breakwater and the lake was super calm. It's a great walk.
Joan Cronson — Google review
I had the pleasure of visiting the Two Harbors Light House yesterday, and it was a delightful experience. The lighthouse is accessible via a picturesque pier that leads you right up to the historic structure. The walk along the pier offers a stunning view, with sandpipers and seagulls adding to the charm of the serene surroundings. While I arrived too late to partake in the museum tour, I was informed that it's open from 9 AM to 5 PM and costs $10 per person. Though I missed the opportunity to explore the museum, the information provided piqued my interest, and I plan to return to learn more about the rich history of the lighthouse and the area. Whether you're a history enthusiast or simply looking for a peaceful retreat, the Two Harbors Light House offers something for everyone. The blend of natural beauty and historical intrigue makes it a must-visit destination. Don't miss the chance to take in the view from the pier; it's a sight to behold!

Was really great to be able to walk out and see the water and the docks. I would have loved to seen this place in its hay day. All the freighters coming in to the port. It was hazy the day we were there all the smoke from the Canadian wildfires.

Wow amazing a perfect pizza and garlic bread! Having the variety of options to choose the sauce and toppings will bring you to create your favorite one easily.. The pizza is so saucy and delicious but I took light on cheese!! The staff were always nice and welcoming and small seating area but neat and clean!! I highly recommend this place!!

Tasty! Got take out and brought the pizza over to Castle Danger. Fun flavors to try. We had some picky eaters in our group, so we picked a couple classics like chicken bacon ranch and meaties pizza. Chicken bacon ranch was my fave of the two. It’s pretty rich, flavor wise.

Literally my favorite restaurant ever, favorite pizza, best food I’ve ever eaten! Pre-Covid, we were welcome to have our dog eat out on the patio with us (he was leashed and far enough away from the walkway/door as to not bother other customers). Every week long trip up to my cabin we would stop for lunch/dinner AT LEAST 3-4 times. I cannot wait to head up this spring/summer and share some of my favorite pizza with our 1 year old! (Photos are from different trips! Pre-Covid restrictions)
Kaitlyn Borst — Google review
Tasty round pizza cut in little square pieces. Why does that make pizza taste so good? Friendly, fast service. I got a salad too. Asked for no cheese, meat or croutons. We ordered take out after we got there. Seems like most people called first or ordered online.
Suzanne Durkacs — Google review
We ordered a large pepperoni pizza for $22 and really enjoyed the loads of cheese and also loved how they folded the sides of the crust over to give an extra crunchy texture as your last bite( see in picture)! Highly recommend for the small cozy atmosphere and decent pricing :) These pictures I took on our second time having them. They made our trip to Two Harbors that much more enjoyable! Hole in the wall gem for sure!

Ordered from here two nights in a row - pizza quality was great! However, the customer service was severely lacking. We had a special order pizza due to dietary restrictions, and they made it incorrectly. When we called back to see if there was a way to solve the problem the woman on the other end of the phone became immediately defensive and hung up. We tried to call back, but were hung up on again. We’re patient folks, and were even willing to pay for a new pizza, but they didn’t even give us the opportunity. A disappointing, souring taste for a place that made otherwise delicious pizza.

Great little pizza stop! Stopped here on our way up north and got a couple 10” pizzas. Was perfect to eat half and take the rest with. We got a sausage and chicken wild rice pizza. Both were excellent, I never would have thought of wild rice on a pizza but it’s my new favorite thing. Everything was seasoned so well and super cheesy. Staff were super nice. Cute bakery/ice cream place next door and great for walking to other shops nearby.

Jalapeno Popper pizza is truly the.best.pizza I have ever had… and I’ve been to Italy. It is the kind of pizza that you would see served at the coronation of a great emperor. But I cannot think of an emperor worthy enough to delight in this piece of perfection. It was as if angels came down and worked in the kitchen to create this delectable work of art. I used to go up to Two Harbors to enjoy the solitude in the natural beauty that is the Minnesota North Shore, but now it’ll be to eat this pizza again. Thank you, Northshore Pizza Cafe, for creating this culinary masterpiece. All poetry aside, this pizza is seriously the best pizza I’ve ever had.

Great little diner with great service. The cinnamon roll is a must! Sliced and grilled so it’s slightly toasted and warm and soft on the inside! One of the best I’ve had. The hash browns with the works were so tasty! Our server was so sweet and taking care of the whole place on her own. Update: after trying three cinnamon rolls on our MN road trip Judy’s wins by a long shot!

Great place and wonderful value. Awesome service to boot. Had the Walleye dinner and it was great but the homemade veggie soup was the bomb. Maybe the best I have ever eaten. Run, don’t walk here and enjoy some great comfort food.

I recently dined at Judy's Cafe, and the experience was nothing short of delightful. Our server, Kayla, was the epitome of professionalism and attentiveness. Despite serving 9 different tables, she never missed a beat, ensuring that everyone received top-notch service. Kayla's attention to detail was impressive. She made sure our drinks were always topped off and checked in on us as we were enjoying our meal. Her ability to balance four dishes at a time while serving was a sight to behold, and our food, along with everyone else's, was served pretty fast. The food at Judy's Cafe was equally commendable. I indulged in the Mile High Omelet and Hashbrowns with Cheese and Onions, and it was delicious. My husband enjoyed the Denver Omelet, and he was equally satisfied with his choice. The ambiance of the place added to the charm, with cute decor that made the dining experience all the more enjoyable. I'm thrilled with my experience at Judy's Cafe and highly recommend it to anyone looking for great food, exceptional service, and a speedy dining experience. Hats off to Kayla and the entire team for making our visit so special!

Judy's Cafe has something special, beyond the surface, an energy or vibration just pulsating, calling you in and holding your attention. Perhaps you will visit and see a small restaurant in a northern Minnesotan town, rather nondescript, filled with people you do not know and may never meet again. But maybe, just maybe, you will see, nay, feel, in your bones and in your blood, in the static racing between your synapses, a hum or a familiar sensation that you cannot quite name but know so well, like the remnants of a daydream from days gone by or a sudden bout of Deja Vu. If you feel it, embrace it, and live at last. Be.

What a great find! We love small town cafes and diners. Judy’s does not disappoint. We stopped in after our hike of Bean & Bear Lake. It was just what we were looking for. We were given three waters and menus immediately upon sitting down. No-nonsense service, fast food preparation, and most important- DELICIOUS food and pies. We enjoyed it so much the first day we went back the next day for more. We tried the following foods and entrees and loved them all: Pizza burger, Caesar salad (exceptionally good dressing!), two-cheese grilled cheese, onion rings, hash browns (scattered, smothered, covered, and chunked- SO GOOD and a Judy’s specialty), pizza omelet, cinnamon French toast, chicken dumpling soup, and pie. The pies we tried were all incredible as well— butterscotch merengue, chocolate banana cream, coconut cream, apple custard, and cherry (last two were warmed and topped with real whipped cream). 😋 Do yourself a favor and skip the crowds at Betty’s- Judy’s has it all!

Food was tasty and came out pretty fast. Try the cinnamon french toast or scattered smothered covered hashbrowns, soooo delicious! The space is relatively small. I'd say about 15 or so tables, but the turnover is fast. Quaint decor and reasonable prices. Service was terrible. A server came and brought us menus asked what we wanted to drink, came back with the beverages, and let us know that our server would be with us shortly. Shortly was about 20 mins. She came over, swiped the menus, asked us what we wanted, curtly, and left. Brought our food out and never returned. She seemed nice to the regulars. I'm not sure if she was having a bad day or what. I was a server, so I know how those go. Regardless of your day, you can't be rude to your customers. Some customers don't understand, and then it reflects in your tip.

What a great rustic treat. Definitely a quality mom-and-pop joint. The place has a wierd process for seating, it's kind of a free for all and you'll want to be aware that there will be a lunch rush. Tourists come through in deep waves so if you're a local wanting to avoid tourist I doubt this is the spot. There are some good burger, sandwiches, and salad options but its the breakfast for me, every time.

Stopped there from our BWCA trip for breakfast. It's inexpensive, good food, fast and friendly service. Food was delicious. Wait time was like 15 mins for our group of 9. Highly recommend.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our lunch there. I had the French dip she had the Denver sandwich on wild rice toast. Staff is friendly and attentive always had the coffee pot working. I'll go back there again! Thanks for a great lunch

Judys use to be the go to place on our north shore trips with great food and a sour cream muffin with raspberry butter to die for. Hadn't been there for many years and made a special trip there last spring. What a disappointment, poor service, dirty tables and really bad food. All three of us ordered eggs (over easy) and we all got over hard, burnt cold toast, burnt ham and extra extra Krispy bacon. When we mentioned our food to the server she just walked away. And their great muffins were a long gone item. What a shame to see a place that use to be packed with great food sink to this level. At least we have great memories of the great times, too bad they are gone.

Located just a short drive or stroll from Country Inn Two Harbors, this restaurant offers a casual yet fine dining experience with a diverse menu featuring pan-seared salmon, Philly cheesesteak nachos, steaks, sandwiches, burgers, wraps, and pasta. The handcrafted cocktails and locally-brewed beers add to the appeal.
Best meal I have had in a long time! The Thai Chicken Curry Flatbread was a flavor explosion! I wish I would have ordered one to go. My husband had the black and blue burger which he orders at most restaurants and said it was the best he’s had as well. The service was amazing and the restaurant/bathrooms were so clean! We will be back.

We had a great experience here. Easy to find with decent parking right out front. Our server Mary attended to our every need. With her help we discovered a delicious Rum Punch and some killer beer recommendations that absolutely hit the spot. I had some Jerk Rubbed wings for starters. The wife had Chicken Alfredo for her entree and I tried out the Veal Marsala. Both dishes were excellent and we will be back on our next trip to the North Shore. I highly recommend that you come give McQuade's a try!#greatservice#happyhourspecials#clean@devinejd

I order their Mushroom & Swiss burger w/fries on the side. First time there and their burger and fries were amazing!! I did double stack beef patties (it was thick but delicious). Their fries were crunchy and flavorful! Usually fries I’ve had were either too soggy or too salty. But not McQuade’s. Their fries - PERFECT!! *chef’s kiss* Our server was kind, cheerful, polite and very attentive. I would definitely recommend them if you ever stop by in Two Harbors, MN.

Stopped in during during a wedding weekend for my friend. Service was outstanding and kind and the food was excellent. We tried tried roasted avocado. The avocado was soft and warm with spices and chips, the cheese included was also really delicious For entree I had the California Burger. It was cooked medium and came a little pinker than I was expecting but was still excellent. The fries that came with are seasoned evenly but were a tad salty. My partner had the Margherita Flatbread. To me the Flatbread was a bit too sweet. My partner thought it was excellent. Overall worth the stop in!

We were here while visiting in Two Harbors. It was not our first choice. We ended up very happy that our usual place was not open. We had burgers and a salad. The server Mary was great! She made a couple of suggestions and she was right on the money! 😃 Two of us had great burgers and one of us a salad! We were all happy! We ate in the restaurant side of the establishment. There is a bar side as well. The fireplace was not going when we were there. We sat in both with a parking lot view. We will stop again.

Wow! McQuade's is a highly skilled chef driven culinary experience in Two Harbors. Our wonderful server Mary upon request happily sat us next to the toasty warm fireplace. We shared scratch made to order mussels and a special of grilled jumbo shrimp mahi mahi zucchini on homemade yummy slightly lumpy mashed potatoes. Superiorly paired seasonings and sauces in their food that rival any top tiered 5 star restaurant. We will be back the next time on the North Shore!

Nice restaurant with good food and at a reasonable price. In general, the food is more or less what you would expect at a locale pub. However, I am personally a huge fan of there fries so I recommend order a dish that comes with those on the side. The cheese curds are also good with a really good house made spicy ranch however, they are nothing like actual fair style cheese curds as the menu suggest so be sure you have appropriate expectations if you order them. Another con I’ll give this place and I full acknowledge that this is a personal annoyance of mine is they don’t give you a bottle of ketchup with your food. It’s a tiny little cup on the side which is gone immediately so you need to ask/wait for the server to bring you more. Given how good the fries are, this was a disappoint as the fries got cold while waiting. That combined with the misleading cheese curds is the reason I give them a 4 out of 5

After a big day of hiking, we wanted to sit and eat a nice meal and not wait in the lines of Betty’s Pies. We got in right away, placed our order and food was out in minutes!!! The service was exceptional and ALL of the food was incredible. The burgers were so delicious, best we’ve ever had! You can’t beat the price for this quality of food! Probably the best food we’ve ever had in Two Harbors! Stop in and you won’t be disappointed.

Excellent place for food in my opinion. Stopped off here after visiting Split Rock Lighthouse and when I arrived, there were only two other people inside, so it was really quiet which was great. Lacey was a marvellous server; very friendly, welcoming and attentive. When the food came out, damn it was good! One of the BEST Philly cheesesteaks I've ever tried. Plenty of meat, accompanied by peppers and onions and finished with the cheese, was an absolute taste sensation! I was never made to feel rushed to pay once I'd finished my meal and Lacey even got me another refill of my soda, which I was able to enjoy, before hitting the road once more. A BIG thank you to Lacey for the great service and thumbs up for McQuade's Pub and Grill for the superb food!

We stopped here on our North Shore trip and it was excellent fare. Definitely recommend the cheese curd upgrades. Clean/recently remodeled. It seemed strange that they didn’t have more Castle Danger beer options as it was right down the road. We skipped beverages here and went to the brewery afterwards.

A lovely restaurant right beside kwik trip gas station, ideal for a gas and snack break 😊. We stopped by for lunch and what excited us the most was the way the plate was presented and the taste was the cherry on the top. Loved the bruschetta and the chicken salad. I wish we had the time to enjoy a beer too, but some other time !!

My husband and I enjoyed a delightful meal at McQuade's Pub and Grill. The mushroom and Swiss burger was savory and well-cooked, while the smoked jalapeño and cream cheese burger offered a unique flavor despite lacking vegetable toppings. The standout was the chocolate malt, filled with whopper pieces and candy bits. Friendly service and a pleasant ambiance made our experience complete. Highly recommended for burger lovers!

I have to say, very good burgers. I had the Big Mac and my wife the mushroom and swiss and both burgers were very tasty. $3 upcharge for onion rings is a little steep but at least they tasted good. The restaurant itself is a little cold and has a cantina-like feel to it. Service was friendly and prompt. When the check came I was faced with the common culprit again, the credit card surcharge. Customer having to pay the business owner to run his business. Really upsets me. Unfortunately for the wait staff, this extra charge comes right out of the tip.
Peter Schmidt — Google review
Food was good, we got a kids burger which was good size, and tasty. Wife and I each got the prime rib sandwich. It was good, added the extra peppers and mushrooms, the cost for those not worth what they put on both. They really should just be included. The horseradish was hidden and needs a bit more prominent position on the sandwich. All in all it was good, would eat there again. Nothing I will be talking about years to come, but everything we had was solid. Also added a picture of kids menu since we did not see that online.

Nestled in the picturesque town of Two Harbors along Highway 61, Vanilla Bean is a charming restaurant housed in a pastoral-style home exuding a cozy mountain-cabin ambiance. The all-day brunch menu offers classic American dishes with global influences, such as flavored sweet rolls, mini doughnuts, and Norwegian crepes.
This cozy little restaurant is an absolute must stop for breakfast! There are many common breakfast favorites as well as some unique breakfast originals that are out of this world! We ordered the eggs bennidict with pesto and the wild rice porridge. Both were absolutely delicious, but the porridge was a dish unique to this restaurant that is so good I couldn't get enough! Had to get a cup for the road. I will definitely come back on my next trip!

Use to come here every time I’m up north, and LOVED the oven baked omelette.. but after stopping by today 03/02/24 Im grossed out. the same thing i use to get tasted awful. I think they heated it up and they barely put any cheese on it. I left hungry and unhappy.

*Be prepared, I wrote a novel* 😂 This is a cute little place to stop in for breakfast or lunch. We went late Monday morning for breakfast and did not have to wait to be seated. We even got to pick where we wanted to sit, which I love. I put one less star for a few minor reasons. The service wasn't bad, the waitress just seemed indifferent about being there, which made it seem like she was indifferent about us being there if that makes sense. I was also very excited to try the Scandinavian breakfast. I had seen menus in other reviews and between that and the Northwoods latte, I was very excited to try this place. In fact, my husband wasn't even hungry but I made us stop here anyways just for these menu items. Long story short, they were out of the Scandinavian breakfast... ☹️ Maybe tape over items that you're out of on the menu outside the door or the menus handed out to the table? 🤷🏼‍♀️ I ended up ordering Grandma Bergman's Swedish pancakes (pictured with my husband's order of the Harbor breakfast) which was very delicious so maybe it was meant to be. ❤️ Oh, and they had great vegetarian and vegan options! Also pictured is the iced Northwoods latte that I ordered to go. It was delicious! They definitely have good coffee. PRICE: We spent $32 on two breakfasts, one coffee, and a 18% tip. 👍 Overall, I would come here again. I'd be excited to try some of their other menu items!

Absolute perfection! I stopped by Wednesday (2/7) after a morning of moseying down 61 stopping here and there to hike along Superior with my old dog, Stout. I was in the mood for a hardy breakfast and boy did I stop at THE RIGHT PLACE!! If you like corned beef - I mean REAL shredded corned beef (not the dog-food-ish canned variety) then you will love this … order the Castle Danger Hash. Y U M !! Two eggs & your choice of toast (with a mixed berry heavenly jam) complete this dish. Crispy, best I’ve EVER had cubed potatoes are included. I opted for poached eggs and they were perfect! OK - and the service?? There’s gotta be something bad about this place right? Wrong! Shauna rocked!!! Don’t pass by this place if you’re looking for a satisfying brunch experience in Two Harbors! Staff was extremely friendly, we're from out of town and they gave us some recommendations of places to visit and also gave us a dinner recommendation. I had the country fried steak and eggs which was great! Some of the best country fried steak I've had at a breakfast place. My husband had a burger which he loved. We took home a caramel roll for later and you could tell it was homemade. We are going back tomorrow also! 5/5

Had a great experience at The Vanilla Bean! Started out our day with delicious(!) breaded french toast, wild rice porridge, a combination plate and a big mug of hot coffee. Delicious all the way around. Had wonderfully attentive care from the person taking care of the dining room - thank you for the great start of our North Shore day! All around great food and experience. Recommended!

I was looking for a breakfast place on my way down from up north. I stumbled upon this local restaurant. I have seated right away. It has a clean, cozy environment with friendly staff. The menu got me excited when I saw a unique combination of choices made from scratch. I ordered Castle Danger Hash with chicken sausage links, a Grand Portage Oven Baked Omelet with chicken links, and chicken fried steak and eggs with my family. All of them were delicious, but the Danger Hash stood up the most. Perfectly cooked corn beef over crispy potatoes and veggies. I am going back up to the north soon to see Northern lights, so I will definitely stop by again for more Danger Hash. Our waiter suggested that I order their cranberry wild rice toast as a side to my dish, even though I don't like cranberries I ordered to give it a try. And I am glad I did. I liked it a lot!! Crispy, Buttered toast filled with flavors. Highly recommend it. The service part was pretty good. And prices are fair. Can't wait to visit again soon.

Wow, what a hidden gem on the North Shore of Minnesota. Stopped by yesterday for lunch with the family on the way to Ely and had the soup and sandwich combo: Wild Rice Soup with the Cranberry Club sandwich. As someone who makes the Boundary Waters Chicken Wild rice soup myself it only took a stir with the spoon and a sip of that soup to know it was made from scratch the way its supposed to. And then it was off to the beautiful combination of flavors from the club sandwich with the unique cranberries and wild rice bread, the perfectly cooked crispy bacon, turkey, cucumber and cranberry flavored mayo. Will definitely be back! Sorry, no photos I was too busy devouring :)

Enjoyed a late Wednesday morning breakfast at the Vanilla Bean. There was a waiting line, so we went next door to the souvenir shop to pass the time. Once inside the restaurant, we perused the menus. From the coffee to our breakfasts, everything was delicious. Not being much of a fish eater, I took my friend's recommendation and ordered the Walleye Cake Benedict (poached eggs and hand-pattied walleye cakes topped with hollandaise) and extra crispy hash brown potatoes. Over-the-top delicious. Another had the Popeye oven-baked omelet with fresh spinach, bacon, tomatoes, and smoked Gouda cheese. Highly recommend Vanilla Bean if you're in or passing through Two Harbors.

This was our first time eating IN the restaurant. Very good experience - clean facility, very friendly staff (even though they seemed short staffed and very busy!), great service and tasty food! We realized after we ordered they had cranberry wild rice bread - so we each ordered a piece toasted. I had the traditional eggs Benedict with hashbrowns - as you can see, it all blended together very well (forgot to take a before pic!). Looking forward to next time!

A very busy place in Two Harbors. There was only one waitress dealing with many of us customers, so the service was understandably a bit slow. Cinnamon dolce latte was very nice, and the wild rice porridge was ok, but very sweet and rich. Pricey overall.

This is a cozy little spot. Went with my wife for a little coffee date and it was great! Enjoyed the atmosphere and music while sipping some tasty coffee with our meals. I have a feeling we will be coming back more often. The traditional eggs benedict really hit the spot and the mini donuts were fantastic!

Really tasty cheese blend and the crust was great. This place would thrive in the Twin Cities, let alone Twin Harbors. More than worth a stop while hitting up the North Shore.

Overall I enjoyed it! The ordering process was a little odd as the menus were at the tables, but then you order at the counter. The team was small but kind! A few updates with the women's bathroom (not sure about men's) and ordering process, and this cute pizzeria would be 5 stars!

One bite…everyone knows the rules. 9.7 / 10. Crispy undercarriage, zero flop, little tasty char bubbles, perfect sauce to cheese ratio, perfect crust thickness. Well done crust. Perfect distribution of ingredients. New Haven style pizza has come to the North Shore. Outstanding pizza with old school pizzeria vibes. THIS is the place you want to come to for that jaw dropping pizza experience.

My husband and I stopped by to grab a bite on our trip from St.Paul to Lutsen and we would definitely come back! We hadn’t heard of this place before, just found it by searching for food on Google and we’re happy we came it. The 5 cheese blend in the pizza is delish.

Great small town pizza shop! Good crunchy thin crust with perfect cheese to sauce ratio. Paper plates with real silverware and plastic cups for self serve beverages. Waitress was very detail oriented but friendly. We enjoyed our visit. Quiet with low customers but lots of carryout for a Friday night.
Sarah Carsello — Google review
Our family went to Do North Pizza for dinner. We spent an hour and forty min in the restaurant, an hour of this was spent waiting on our pizza. When 1 pizza came we asked about the 2nd and was told it would be delivered in just a moment. After 20min the second pizza never did arrive. We were ready to leave at this point so we asked if it could be put in a box. When we asked we were informed that the pizza was left on the back counter and was never fired. They did try and make it right and refunded the pizza. While we were in the establishment we did notice that several tables, that came in just minutes after us, never received food while we were there and other tables, that came in 30-40min after us, had received their food and were almost done eating when we were leaving. The atmosphere was subpar and dirty, definitely needs a good cleaning. The pizza we received was good, the crust was unique. I would suggest ordering for delivery or pickup.
Christina Kuhns — Google review
The pizza was great here, some of the best thin crust pizza I’ve ever had for sure. I’m giving a 5 star because of the food, but I will mention that the atmosphere was a little off. No music or background noise of any kind made it kind of awkward to eat there. We could hear every word said in the kitchen and they could hear every word we spoke as well. We will still come back again for the pizza!

It doesn’t look like much from the outside and it’s sorta dated inside but that is the only downside I can find. The service was prompt and very friendly and the pizza was delicious. We’ll be back anytime we’re in town.

Nobody wanted to cook so I decided pizza it is! The place was just down the block from where we were staying and we've heard great things about it but some of these reviews are brutal. It's a small town pizzeria. Great, awesome food! Very cheesy, we got a pepperoni and onion pizza and the cheesy garlic bread. The crust was thin and delicious! I would definitely go back next time in town.

What a gem! We stopped in on vacation not wanting to cook at the campsite and couldn't be more pleased. We got a large pepperoni pizza, at it was even too much for all four of us to eat! The atmosphere was nice and had lots of fun historical photos on the wall to look at. Pricing was in line with most other Two Harbors eateries (if not less than). Would definitely go again!

In the current time of not being able to dine in at a restaurant we were a little stumped about where to eat when we stayed in Two Harbors. We found out that Do North delivered to our resort and were sold. Their pizza is delicious! They definitely don’t skimp on the toppings and have delicious cheese bread. To top it off both that staff who took my order and the delivery person were helpful and kind! We will definitely be adding Do North to our North Shore favorites list ❤️
