Kapalua Bay is a wide, sandy beach that's perfect for swimming and sunbathing. This secluded cove is also great for snorkeling as visitors can often spot sea turtles and eels. There are several natural pools located nearby, perfect for children who want to explore the ocean floor. Conveniently located just minutes from Lahaina town, Kapalua Bay is a popular beach destination for families and tourists alike.
Gorgeous beach with snorkel rentals! Good snorkeling in the edges of the beach because it’s less foggy! Be aware that parking is tough and it can get crowded as it’s a smaller beach.

We really enjoyed spending a few days of our vacation at this beach. It's great for snorkelling with a ton of fish and turtles. The waves weren't bad, at least the days we were there they weren't, and it wasn't overcrowded. Parking is limited but other than that we really don't have any complaints. Probably our favourite beach on the island.
R Felipe — Google review
Great snorkeling even when the snorkel report was poor (2) for the area. I wish I had more time here. There are lots of juvenile fish hiding in dense coral. I lost most of my good pics due to the wrong camera setting. Don't miss this spot.
Karl Tallakson — Google review
A snorkelling hub. Must visit for kids and people for all ages!! Hence it is crowded, parking is difficult, not much spots. Find parking on roadside just before the beach.
Kirti Sengar — Google review
This was our favorite beach during our trip. The snorkeling is great, we saw turtles every time we went there. It’s a perfect beach to swim, snorkel, be amazed by the sunset (which is incredible there) or just relax on the beach. You can rent beach chairs and umbrellas there along with snorkel gear. There’s also toilets and free parking (if you go there at max 8-9 AM, otherwise you won’t find any places available)
Vladut Mitroi — Google review
Easily one of if not my favorite beach on the island! Just great views all around, great for snorkeling as well or just chilling! Beautiful sunsets too!
Ed Saleh — Google review
Hands down one of the best snorkeling beaches in Maui! It's also a perfect beach for swimming for adults and children, but be aware of the currents, they are very strong and a few people have died here. There are restrooms and beach showers to rinse off. Parking is very limited if you're looking for a free spot. But we arrived around 10am and there were plenty of empty spaces.
Artem Potapov — Google review
If you love to see turtles while snorkeling, this is the beach for you. We get to see a turtle taking rest in the north end of the beach. Some were lucky enough to see many turtles here in a fine day. We called it with a beautiful view of a sunset as well.
Sathish Kumar — Google review
Very nice beach to enjoy the day and great spot for sunset. Easily accessible by car, toilets, showers & water fountain available at the entrance before the beach. Limited options for food though.
C Montoro — Google review
Nice beach with great snorkeling spots. We saw a lot of fish there near the shore while snorkeling. We would definitely go there again.
Jeff Y — Google review
We really like this beach, but it can get a bit crowded and parking is hard to find. You can pay for parking across the street ($15 for the whole day or $10 for 3 hours). Snorkeling is really good here and kid friendly. We saw sea turtles and they will swim right up to you if you're lucky.
Alan Chu — Google review
There’s a reason it’s consistently crowded. Decent snorkeling given how highly trafficked it is. Lots of colorful coral heads. We’ve seen turtles in bunches every time we’ve been. Snorkeling right off the beach. Paddle boarding fun too. Awesome.
Grant Liu — Google review
Trees offering shade. Rental hut offering snorkel gear and floatation vests and belts. Access from parking is pretty easy but there are some stairs. Parking is also quite limited and fills up fast. There are some parking options on the street too. This beach is pretty steep and has a strong break. The drop off in the water is also quite sudden. If you have littles or weak swimmers watch them close or better yet slap on a life vest. Also watch where your little ones are playing. Some parts of the beach have some nasty rocks right under the surf break and we saw a few skinned knees and such in a few hours. There are a few sections where it’s just sand so aim for those and you’ll be fine. Not a bad spot for snorkeling but check one of the local snorkel reports first as conditions here really vary.
Tom Szymanski — Google review
Beaches! Maui is known for their beaches. This is probably our first beach that we have visited here because we have to wait for a few days for our bodies to get settled, since we took almost 13 hours to get here! Now Kapalua Bay beach is a remarkable beach to go to! I would say if you want to snorkel and see some turtles. You have come to the right place! Water is very calm and clear. You can see a lot of fishes near the corals. However, I highly suggest to wear water shoes as the rock/coral can give you a cut if you’re not careful. Perfect sand beach and it’s this is located at the north east side of the island! One of the best beach that I have visited for sure. Parking space is very limited if you’re looking for a free parking spot. Might have to come early to avoid the crowd. At the time we went it didn’t have much people, it was nice to enjoy, relax and enjoy snorkelling as a first time!
Kevin Lester Fallarcuna — Google review
Such a beautiful place!!! I enjoyed this place with my family. It is easier to park before 9am. The water is clear and the weather is great.
Ning — Google review
They weren’t lying when they said it’s great for snorkelling. This family friendly beach with refreshing waters and beautiful views won’t disappoint. Make sure to bring your underwater phone cases and or go pros!
Kateloralai — Google review
The beach is beautiful, with a great atmosphere perfect for spending time with my family. We enjoyed six hours on the beach and even spotted turtles. However, at a small shop, there were individuals, possibly from nearby hotels, charging a whopping 75 dollars for an umbrella and two chairs. There were no signs or displayed prices, so be cautious as these people might take advantage of unsuspecting tourists and engage in dishonest pricing for rentals. Despite this, I did meet some wonderful people in Hawaii, but it's important to stay alert to avoid potential rip-offs
HELLO — Google review
It’s beautiful beach with crystal clear water. Best for snorkelling. there is shop at right side of the beach where you can rent the gears and umbrellas . Even if you cannot swim, you can do snorkelling with life jackets. We saw many colourful fishes on a very shore side. We were delighted to see sea turtles. It was amazing experience. Highly highly recommend for snorkelling. Its kid’s friendly.

Honolua Bay, situated on the northwestern end of Maui, is a rocky bay that offers excellent snorkeling in the summer and surfing in the winter. Accessible via a forested path, this Marine Life Conservation District is isolated by rocky cliffs and boasts calm waters teeming with diverse marine life such as parrot fish, surgeon fish, wrasse, and Humuhumunukunukuapua'a.
Best snorkeling spot that I’ve found in Maui. Parking is easy. Once parked, you walk through a cool forest area to get to the bay. If you’re here to snorkel, I recommend going to the right side once you reach the bay and heading into the water from the rocks there. The coral stretched out along the cliff on the right. Note there is no sandy beach here, so you will have to navigate some slippery rocks as you’re getting into/out of the water, but it’s so worth it. I’ve seen many types of fish and turtles here, and the coral reefs are better than any other snorkeling spot I’ve been to in Maui. Come in the morning for the best visibility. By afternoon the waters will start getting muddy due to choppy waves. There are no real bathroooms (only porta-potties) so plan ahead.
Ann Yih — Google review
Great snorkeling Bay. Coral is not bad although it looks like I'm most places it is starting to come back from when it was killed earlier. Shore is rocky so not a place to go if you are just looking to hang out at a beach. This is the destination where all of the catamaran snorkeling cruises go. Walk through magical forest and papaya forest in the way to the Bay was awesome as well. Definitely one of the better places for snorkeling and hug the shoreline since the center is more barren.
Chris Bowen — Google review
Amazing place! You get off the road into a jungle, then take a nice walk into the best snorkeling spot of all time. We saw all kinds of fish, also squid. This is like a dream. This was my favorite place to go on my trip to Hawaii.
Theolovetesla — Google review
Beautiful jungle walk to get to the bay. Rocky beach. Great snorkeling. Too many people there though. 5 boats were anchored in the bay with snorkeling patrons. Go earlier in the morning if possible. Very limited legal parking.
David — Google review
Drove up the windy mountain, trekked through the Jurassic park like jungle and into the rocky bay to find many beautiful underwater creatures! Best snorkeling experience ever. The biggest coral I have ever seen! The coral looks mostly bleached out but you can see a few colors of yellow, purple, and some small patches of coral growing. Turtles and many fish to see! Many snorkel boats around here. The beach is rocky, so bring beach chairs and your snorkel gear :) so much fun
Carrigail Abanes — Google review
Really the best snorkeling spot on Maui. No public parking available so you will have to park along the road and walk to the Bay. Go to the right side where tour boats are. Lots of fish, octopus and corals etc.. We went twice in the morning around 9am and 3pm in the afternoon. Water is more clear in the morning. Very rocky so make sure you have water shoes.
Stacy Yoon — Google review
Go very early or you will be challenged for parking and the arrival of snorkel boats. The trail is very well kept, with portable toilets available and a beautiful walk through some lush Maui scenery. The snorkeling is amazing but be prepared to navigate a rocky shoreline (as in, not a sandy beach). The waters are calm and clear with an abundance of live coral and marine life. If you can deal with an early morning arrival, you won't regret it.
Lisa White — Google review
Beautiful short hike from less-than-ample roadside parking to the shoreline. Awesome bay suitable for snorkeling. The rocky shoreline is very slippery.
David Purves — Google review
Great spot to snorkel, if not the best spot on Maui! You will have to swim about 100-150 meters towards the right in the bay to get the most of it. Limited parking as well as toilets available at the street.
Y. R. — Google review
The best place for snorkling if one swims a bit further on the right side of the bay!! The amount of fish, turtles and the coral reef was breath taking ❤️
Alena Salasova — Google review
If you want to snorkel with turtles, this is the place. You can park along the road and walk to the Bay - and just go out where the tour boats go (its not that far out)- that's where the best coral and turtles are
Mark Dooley — Google review
This is one of the best Snorkel spots on Maui. It's a bit of the main resort areas but worth the drive. Street parking us limited and you'll have to do a short hike though lush tropical vegetation that feels like it is straight out of Jurassic Park. The beach is rocky and the best part of the reef is out about 500 feet and to the right once you are in the water. If you are up to putting in the effort you might be rewarded with hundreds of fish of every variety,, a half dozen turtles, a colorful reel, eel, octopus and the occasional barracuda or shark. Also nice if you just want to go for a short hike!
Blue Heron Resort Rentals Orlando FL — Google review
The coast road to the blowhole, cuts along the edge of the Ocean. There are dozens of beautiful, natural unspoilt beaches. Honaloa Bay was the one we stopped at. Bring your snokles, plenty of coral and reef fish, RIP Warning......... If you are not a strong swimmer, DO NOT go out if there are sets of waves over 2 feet high. There are shadey spots under trees on the sand, if you don't like full Sun.
Ron Nothman — Google review
Went at 3pm. Saw a pufferfish and several other kinds of fish, the coral landscape is very entertaining compared to other places I've snorkled on Maui. My dog liked walking around the forested area. 5 stars 🌟

The Kapalua Coastal Trail is a leisurely 1.76-mile pathway that offers stunning natural beauty and coastal views in Maui. It starts at Kapalua Beach and winds its way to Namalu Bay, Oneloa Bay, and D.T. Fleming Beach, showcasing rock cliffs, tide pools, and the chance to see sea turtles along some of the island's most beautiful beaches. The trail is mostly paved and flat, making it accessible for all skill levels.
Gorgeous views along this trail with multiple access points. There's even a good place to jump into the ocean from about 15-ft high rocky platform. It's about halfway along the trail and you'll take the sandy, narrow trail away from the main hiking trail. Go to the end and you'll find it.
David Borger Germann — Google review
Super easy paved trail that crosses Kapalua Beach and goes into the rocky shores. You can probably even take a wheelchair even though it's not actually ADA. It's not steep. The restroom you see at the parking lot is the only one on the trail. Parking is tough to find in the lot but street parking is also available.
Michael Barton — Google review
Beautiful trail, amazing views and lots to see. It took us about 2.5 hours to walk til the end and back to our car but we were taking our time stopping to take pictures and enjoy the breathtaking views. Plus I had an injury on my foot so had to go slower but I was determined not to skip the trail. It shouldn't take you more than 1.5 hrs to do it at a good pace. Parts of the trail are paved, then there's a portion that is sand and a couple of portions are rocky so wear sneakers! It would have been difficult to do with sandals or flip flops.
Alanha Cruz — Google review
Great trail, easy to traverse with several access points. There are areas blocked off for restoration of the native grasses, but you’re able to go around and still access the paths. Highly recommend
Jaimie Just — Google review
Hard to beat the views along this relatively easy hike. The first 1/2 mile or so is a paved walk. After that you are on a trail. There are a few rocky spots that require some care but overall it's pretty flat. The parking lot is small but there is ample (paid) parking at the golf course across the street. There is a nice beach at the start of the trail so bring your swimsuits to cool off afterwards.
Lee Mac — Google review
Gorgeous walk! Path is easy!!lovely view! Perfect for everyone.. small parking space but most people can just park on side of street..
Ed Tom — Google review
It’s a good light hike in and out RT is about 3.5 miles mostly flat. Gets a bit confusing once you enter Ritz Carleton property as there is no sign there but if you read a map. It’s pretty ok. There is a map at kapulua beach’s trail head
Kai Ng — Google review
An enjoyable short 1.75 mile out hike that takes you through a few hotel properties and along the coast line. Fun to stop and the rocks and see the waves crash over the top. Not stroller friendly or small kids might find the walk through the lava a challenge. Go early to find easy close parking or you’ll have to line the streets with cars.

This is a beautiful, hiking trail in Kapalua. When we stayed at the Ritz Carlton in Kapalua, my wife and I would take this hike first thing every morning. Beautiful, coastal views, along beaches. Total of 1.7 miles, leading you to a beautiful beach, with good snorkeling and kayaking.
Mitch Green — Google review
Beautiful area. If you're a PGA fan, you'll appreciate driving through the golf grounds before reaching the trail. We have 3 kids under 8 (June 2023). The trail was easy and great up until the last stretch, where it felt somewhat dangerous for young children. The wide trail path became very narrow and rocky, with the ocean far below straight off the trail path. The maze is at the end of this narrowed path. If your kids are very coordinated, then maybe this isn't a concern. 2 of 3 of our kids are somewhat clumsy, so we turned around at the point the path narrowed. But it was also at that point when the views really opened up, and we were able to enjoy the magnificent unobstructed panoramic views. Also, the trail is in the midst of native sacred land. There are signs all along the trail explaining how this is sacred land, and warning people to stay on the trail. I honestly felt a spiritual vibe while on certain parts of the trail. The spiritual vibes weren't "scary" at all, but actually calming. There is definitely deep history and spirituality there.

Beautiful oceanfront trail past Kapalua Bay and through rugged volcanic terrain and a bird preserve. But I'll let the photos do the talking! Perfect any time of day but sunset walks here get my vote.

This AAA Five Diamond oceanfront resort overlooks Kapalua Bay, filled with lush gardens and panoramic views. The hotel has a large spa, fitness center, pool and various restaurants.
We stayed here for 4 days in January 2022 and had an AMAZING time. The staff greeted us with leis and fresh drinks before we even walked in the door. We had an ocean view room overlooking the golf course with incredibly beautiful views. The staff was exemplary and helpful. The burger shack & banyan tree both had amazing food and the pool was spectacular. The beach was also amazing and you could see whales breaching from all Around. Napili beach was 3 minutes away with the BEST snorkeling and everything we wanted to do was close. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

I want to give 5 stars but issue 2nd night with waiter at dinner. Otherwise service was excellent! Shout-outs to Margy at the front desk, Z at the breakfast restaurant, & Al for the delicious omelets served with a smile (please get that man new pans!). Service was impeccable. Location is nice if you want to get away from the crowd but 30 minutes or more to most attractions. However, there's a great beach steps away from the property along with a nice trail.
Bmore Mike — Google review
Overall we had a great stay. We expected the remote location and really enjoyed that. You definitely need a car if you plan on leaving the property. The property is bigger than we expected. The hotel didn't do a good job on explaining that or letting us know what was nearby. We explored on our own and found the 'general store' and lots of restaurants at surrounding properties. The rooms were less than ideal. We were told they were "reimagined" and they left a LOT to be desired. Our bathtub had mold in it and was dirty on the bottom. Our mirror had paint on it and was also damaged. We were missing towels when we checked in, one bath mat was torn up, and one mat was dirty. And overall the rooms just look tired for rooms that were supposedly renovated recently. There were some under constructions areas when we arrived and the divider looked like something we'd see on a construction site. A few days later it had some trees in front of it, but the overall experience upon arrival made it feel like we were checking into a motel. We had lounge access and this is what truly made our trip so enjoyable. The staff in the lounge went above and beyond! Laura went above and beyond. She was so friendly and helpful during our entire stay. All of the ladies and gentlemen in the lounge were incredible! The other staff at the hotel were nice when we needed things, but it didn't feel like a usual Ritz experience where they are anticipating your next step. We were disappointed to hear they do not offer turn down service as we expect that at a 5-star resort, but that isn't the end of the world. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but the room and overall service left a lot to be desired. I hope this was a fluke and isn't the usual at the Ritz Maui.

Had the best experience staying here with my almost husband so much so we have planned our wedding here. It was supposed to happen in September, but with the Maui Fires, it was not possible. The staff was completely transparent with us and worked with us to move our date to a more suitable time. Very grateful for their guidance and support.

Was hesitant to go so soon after the tragic fires but already had the vacation planned. The resort is beautiful and scenic with all the usual benefits of staying at a Ritz property. The rooms were a bit outdated in the decor but very comfortable and the staff was attentive. Spent most of the time exploring the beach and poolside but that was the point! Would recommend for a getaway anytime.

Great hotel and great service. The grounds were beautiful and rooms were great. We had a jr suite overlooking the ocean. It had a nice kitchenette and living area. The only complaint that I had was the wind. It was really bad and made pool time and beach time not great. Check the wind forecast before you go. If it is windy I would opt for resort on the less windy side.
Casey Peay — Google review
My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and it was absolutely wonderful! We had the residential suite and it was very spacious, clean and the garden view was beautiful. The resort is very quiet and the housekeeping staff is very attentive. Banyan Tree was one of our favourite meals during our trip. Hands down the staff is the best part of this resort - especially the valet staff. Everyone is so helpful, friendly and will go the extra mile to give you the best service. The only criticism we had was that we wished the pools were heated but other than that a fantastic experience. We had an amazing time and will definitely be back!

It doesn't get much better than this. The location, service, and amenities are all top-notch. I used the gym almost everyday and loved it. Golf is a must. Also, the burger shack is a great place for lunch while taking a break from the beach. I also recommend the milkshakes from the burger shack. Prices are fair, staff is friendly and dress is casual.

I mean, I could write an entire essay praising The Ritz in Maui! My partner and I just returned from a 5-day, 4-night stay at their property in Maui, and we were both in awe of everything! From the gorgeous property, to the views, to the valet staff, Joy greeting us the day we got in, to the rooms.... I can go on and on! Let me start by mentioning Jorge, one of the valet attendants, who also welcomed us with a smile, took note of my partner's handicapped plaque, and was extremely helpful, kind, and courteous. Back to Joy again. When we got to The Ritz there was this beautiful lady snapping her fingers to the beat of music playing, with a huge smile on her face who saw us and literally welcomed us with open arms, and right away we knew we were going to love this place. After Joy guided us to the reception to check-in, which was super fast and easy, we looked out towards the beach and the views, WOW, just spectacular. The lounge area that looks out to the resorts various pools, grassy area, and to the beach left us breathless. Our king room was great as well, with a comfy bed, coffee maker, private mini fridge, two closets, balcony overlooking the golf course next door, with a view of the ocean, and a beautiful bathroom with double sinks, a standing shower, a (separate) tub, and a private water closet. The pool area is just as gorgeous, with plenty of cabanas, lounge chairs, towel service, and wait staff for drink/food orders. Down by the private beach you will also find a delicious burger place. Because my partner does have some limited mobility, we loved that you can request a golf cart ride down to the beach and burger place, and back up to the resort when you are done. I mean, this place has thought of everything and everyone! I will end by saying that we also really appreciated that on day 1, all the staff we encountered called us by our names, ALL of the time. From Joy, to the valet staff, to the wait staff. Kudos to them all! This was our very first trip to Hawaii, and I thank the staff at The Ritz for making this vacation so memorable.

BEWARE HIDDEN FEES! They force you to valet for $50 a night (don’t forget to tip). At the end they surprise you with a $40/night resort fee. This was one of my first adult vacations, so maybe I wasn’t prepared for the grand total of the trip. Hotels cost money but it was a bit over the top in my opinion. The hotel was nice, right on the beach which was nice. If you want an umbrella on the beach, be prepared to spend $150/ day and you must pre-book. Without an umbrella it can be pretty unbearable with the sun and heat. The staff was extremely kind and pleasant. The room was nice and quiet. There were a lot of families staying while we were here, but there are adult-only areas if you want to avoid kids. We ate at the restaurant near the resort once, then we ate elsewhere the rest of our trip. Better to eat local, the food was better and significantly cheaper.

The service and attention to detail were great! Upon entering our room, I found a very nice card, wishing me a happy birthday along with three delicious macaroons! Our stay was very peaceful and enjoyable. I forgot my wallet inside the safe and only realized it when I got to the airport! There was no time for me to go back to get it. When I called, they told me that they could FedEx it to my home, and thankfully, they sent it! I felt well taken care of! ❤️

Overall, a nice relaxing stay. Large and nicely manicured property. Good service as expected. Resort is a 5 minute walk down to the beach, and sometimes a golf cart is there to shuttle you back up. Food was fine, not great as the other reviews mention. Would suggest eating local off-property if you have a car as there are lots of great spots. Bar service by the pool was good. Location is a bit secluded compared to other resorts which is what we wanted, but it's still close enough to most things if you're willing to drive. Rooms are probably due for a renovation at some point soon as they were a bit tired for Ritz standards, but it didn't negatively impact our stay. Be prepared for lots of fees. Resort fee is $40 per day with minimal value at least for us, mandatory valet is $45 per day plus tips, etc. Overall, certainly worth considering if you are looking for a 5 star on Maui. Our stay didn't leave us with a "must return" feeling, but we had an enjoyable and relaxing experience.
John — Google review
I don't know if its worth the money. The litmus test for me is whether I will stay back in this resort when I visit Maui next and the answer is No. For $2000 per night, there simply wasn't enough to go back. The service is top notch. There was an unfortunate incident where we found hair and stains on our bed, bath tub and a filthy fridge after we checked in. They took care of it the next day once we informed them. While I can discount the hair in the bath tub, the filthy fridge and the hair and stained bed liners are tough to overlook. The restaurants in house are good but extremely expensive again - even compared to other restaurants in whaler's village that are comparable in food and service. Again, good resort. Having stayed at multiple Ritz resorts across the world, just not worth the money for me.

Greatly appreciated the front desk, especially Grace who provided great information about the property and help getting the best room available. The facility was beautiful and the rooms were clean and well-kept. The service was incredible and people were polite. The Hawaiian art throughout the hotel was amazing, but I wish the clientele would be more attuned to Hawaiian culture rather than just looking for palm trees. One request is that that the hotel played more Hawaiian music in common areas rather than 1990s pop. It’s windy in Kapalua and beautiful. Overall, we would highly recommend staying at the Ritz in Maui.

We had a very pleasant stayed here. The room was spacious, clean, and well stocked of towels, as it should be. The welcoming staff was friendly. Everywhere you walk to, staff in the hallway greeted you nicely. Good selection of food from the breakfast buffet. Shuttle to the beach. It is a little underwhelming, but good overall.

My husband and I stayed here for our 2nd anniversary and it was absolutely perfect! The staff was so wonderful, the food was amazing, and the view from our room was breathtaking. We highly recommend booking a Club Lounge room. All of the employees and staff at this hotel are so kind and genuine, but we especially cherish our interactions with Laura in the Club Lounge. She truly made us feel special every single day. We are already planning our 3rd anniversary trip to this amazing resort!

Service is definitely great as at any other location of Ritz.. the rooms are quite outdated and old, we have found some trash under the bed when was looking for a lost toy and there were spider webs in corners. It’s a beautiful property with great views, but it’s always windy there so depending on the month may be worth to look at other areas. Food was ok, not too many options though , we end up going to Montage few times, and you are disconnected from everything else, for about 20 minutes. No activity for kids at all, we knew coming here that it’s not kid friendly but common what it costs to the hotel to setup at least a play room with few toys and activities. Definitely doesn’t meet my 5 stat hotel criteria and will not come to this hotel again, the price to value is not justified.

A first-class resort and staff on an amazing property! The level of service throughout the resort was truly special. Great choices for food and drinks, awesome pools, lawn games and tennis/basketball courts, and of course, a spectacular shoreline and ocean views!! We stayed in a fire lanai room that added another level of comfort and ambiance. Highly recommend even a short stay at the Ritz-Carlton Kapalua.

Staff is very nice throughout. I like the location in Kapalua. But overall, the vibe just isn't our thing. This could be a Marriott Vacation Club and I wouldn't notice a difference. It just doesn't have the cozy and lush feel you expect. This is obviously a biased view - so yours may differ. I also find the pools disappointing compared to similarly priced properties. They are just too plain, even if there are three of them (one being an adult only pool). Most staff was very friendly - but it's still a resort factory. Just not our cup of tea.

My family and I spent a week at the Ritz-Carlton, Maui and it was great. It is an hour away from the airport in a beautiful location surrounded by greenery and gorgeous ocean views. The service is amazing — everyone truly goes above and beyond to make your experience great. I would like to specifically thank our room attendant/housekeeping, April M. She was so kind and kept our room tidy, as well as offering us hot tea and honey while my mom was dealing with a cold. Unfortunately, the food is overpriced for the quality that is offered. I would suggest planning and reserving restaurants off of the resort if you want great food at an amazing value, as Maui has some of the greatest seafood restaurants around. Secondly, the rooms at this Ritz are outdated. While the location is beautiful and the overall atmosphere is luxurious, the rooms need renovations to match the name and atmosphere of the Ritz. Overall, I would recommend this resort for the few exceptions regarding the food. Also, be sure to check on the weather because if you’re going to be spending $$$$, you should make sure the weather is adequate or else there will not be much to do. We were told that Kapalua gets a lot of winds and rains due to its location in comparison to rest of the island.

The Ritz is in a beautiful location in Maui. We had the 1 bedroom and were upgraded to ocean view at check in which was appreciated. We were also placed near our friends per our request. The one bedroom is great for a small family. They brought a cot in addition to the pull out couch. The room had two bathrooms with showers, which makes clean up time much faster. The master toilet is a heated Toto model, very nice. Housecleaning was efficient and spot on, always leaving plenty of towels and tidying the room. The coffee shop off the lobby has good coffee and light food. There is plentiful seating with great views on the main floor near the lobby. The pool is good with easy access to chairs and towels, with a reasonable number of shaded spots. Pool food and beverage service is efficient and friendly. The food is expensive, as you would expect. As a result we mostly avoided the restaurants. They should have more options for reasonably priced food. The burger shack down by the beach has burgers and shakes. The burgers here were a huge disappointment, especially for the price. The meat was not seasoned, seemed likely to have been a frozen patty, and the bun was dry. This is what you would expect for a $10 kids burger, though we paid $30 for this uninspired adult burger. The biggest disappointment and the reason for my 3 star review is the valet service. When you call down, they say they will bring your car but only do that sometimes. Despite excellent service on some occasions, at other times I had long waits for my car. On one occasion I was forgotten about by the valets and when I inquired about my car they were defensive and rude. The valet service is required if you have a car (no self parking) and is $50/day. At this price the service should be better and you should not be treated rudely. In summary, a great location and property. At this level, I would expect the food and service to be more consistent. I would consider staying again, but certainly would explore other options, and perhaps try somewhere different.

I swore I’d never stay at a RC again after the horrendous service & experience in Denver but this location and staff more than made up for it. Almost every employee was so friendly, welcoming, and caring. The front desk was WONDERFUL! They asked about our trip, offered recommendations, and were always genuine. Restaurant employees were kind and respectful. The one manager we interacted with really went above and beyond to make our stay great! FOREVER GRATEFUL! My only staff complaint was the valet… we are younger and dressed casual for the beach. An older female valet kept trying to give us lower-budget cars when we would pick up our Tesla from the valet. I don’t know if it was intentional, but it happened multiple times and we were offended. We did not observe her doing this to older couples. Also, our car was an EV. We asked that it be charged each night… it was only charged one night. This was really the only bad part of the stay. The property is immaculate! The restaurants, pool area and room were PERFECT. Loved how spacious the room and bathroom were. We also very much appreciated the welcome bottle of bubbles and dessert waiting in our room. Every detail was thought-out. The location, obviously cannot be helped, but important to note, was a tad out of the way. It made exploring the island each day longer than a more centralized location would have been. Overall, a great place to escape if you are looking for something more secluded and quiet. The pro

From start to finish 5 star! We entered and were greeted with lays and juice. Even better, our kids were also greeted with lays and buckets for sand/beach! They loved it! The receptionist and bellhop were very friendly! Unfortunately, I'm allergic to feathers and had to have someone come change out all the feather bedding, but the guy was SUPER nice and attentive. Overall, our girls and us had an amazing day at the pool and can't wait to come back!! Also, the bartender Jack or Jax in the lobby bar was freaking awesome! I'd come back just for his service and drink making alone!

This resort lives up to expectations for a Ritz. The location is very nice - quiet and secluded. Much of the resort is open air, taking advantage of the lovely climate. Food has been exceptional. Many great restaurant choices are nearby. Cute shops are conveniently located for gifts and necessities.

Napili Bay is a sandy beach in Kihei, Maui, famous for its clear water and coral reefs. It is a popular spot for swimming, snorkeling, and sunbathing. The bay is located in the center of Napili Bay Village near some restaurants and shops.
A beautiful place to spend the day in Maui, a very quiet little bay, it is highly recommended for children and family, it has very convenient restaurants nearby. Very important, parking is a bit complicated in the months of more tourism, my recommendation is to arrive in the early hours of the morning. and to maintain a balance of the place it is also important not to disturb the turtles that sometimes come out of the water. let's respect . Napili Bay highly recommended for family and children in Maui.
Jorge Felix D?az G?mez — Google review
Great for swimming, decent for snorkelling but i recommend one beach up for that. Nice location. Sandy beach not rocky. Great for families. Can even spot some turtles near the rocks!
Kateloralai — Google review
Absolutely incredible. One side of the bay gets stronger waves and is usually where the younger kids play, while the opposite side has calm water and INCREDIBLE snorkeling. Tens of species of fish and a sea turtle in very shallow water. Very unreal, extremely beautiful.
Anthony Ricciardi — Google review
One of the best beaches on West Maui for snorkeling and swimming. On the south side of this beach are at small tide pools that are perfect If you have young children. Parking is limited along Napili Place so aim to come early to secure a spot if you are hoping to spend a beach day with your family. Of note, there are no bathroom facilities here. There is a restaurant named Gazebo that is open to the public. Do know that they have extremely long lines for dine in. Take out options are available if you want to return to the beach to consume your food.

Pretty cool beach, however this was probably my least favorite in Maui. Which still gets four stars, because it’s a beach in Maui! But it was very very crowded and maybe it was the time of year we went, September, but everyone on the beach was pushed up against the foliage or rocks because the tide was coming in pretty good. It had a little bit rougher waters, to the right was really good snorkeling however. I got there at about 930 and it was already super crowded so maybe try 830 or earlier.
Donovan DeCair — Google review
We love this beach! Great waves for body surfing and boogie boarding when it's got waves or snorkeling when it's like tide!
René Davidson — Google review
This is the best beach on the island. Great place for swimming, snorkeling or relaxing. The sunsets are beyond words. Even if you are not staying in the area, come one day and enjoy.
Cecilia Teixeira — Google review
Napili bay is a beautiful enclosed bay on the north shore of Maui. If you come down Napili Place and there’s a fair bit of parking with a public access walkway to the beach. The parking area on Napili is at the opposite end of the resort area so you don’t have to wind thru the resorts to get to the beach. There aren’t any lifeguards on duty when we went and the Napili place beach entry area is pretty rough. However if you walk to the far end by the resort there’s plenty of calm waters for snorkeling and hanging out.
Vic H — Google review
This beach was amazing, we stayed at the sunset beach front resort. Which is right on this beach. Never over crowded. It had great snorkeling, massive sized turtles. I snorkeled in a cluster of turtles with colorful tropical fish. We had good parking. But if your coming from another resort come early parking is limited. It's a must see sunsets are to die for
Timothy Metzger — Google review
Beautiful spot. This is our favorite place on the whole island. The pristine white sand and the reefs are amazing. The waves are usually gentle and it's great to float and relax. The great breakfast spot Gazebo is just south of the beach and delicious. We love coming back here every year.
Robert Prescott — Google review
Napili Bay is always a beautiful beach to visit. The depth of the water goes to about 4 feet right away and offers a great environment for snorkeling. As long as the ocean gives you a snorkel day, you're gonna to see a ton of beauty. If there are more waves, pick up a skim board and have a blast. Parking can be difficult so be prepared for that. Happy ventures, my friends!

Italian restaurant
Taverna Maui is a trendy and stylish rustic-chic eatery that offers a variety of creative Italian dishes and pizzas, along with specialty cocktails. The restaurant boasts an attractive ambiance with plenty of raw wood and industrial-chic decor. While the central bar exudes a lively sports-bar vibe during happy hour, the rest of the establishment maintains a relaxed and low-key atmosphere.
Didn’t realize that this was on a golf course and was very under dressed. Only valet in front of restaurant ($10). To self park you have to park across the street. Good vibes and atmosphere. We're seated very quickly. Food was... Good! The lasagna and pizza were ok, nothing to rave about. The short rib pasta was by far the best dish we had all night. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Drinks were good. Expect to pay tourist prices. It was at night so I can't talk about the views.

Awesome service - Steve is an outstanding server!! Salads, apps and pastas were fantastic. Old Fashioned drinks were great.

Everything was great. Food, View, Staff. All of our orders were fine and delicious except the pasta, it was delicious but it wasn’t really the real Italian one, you know what I mean 🤪 Pizza and lasagna was super delicious and a lot! We had a lot of left over for the next day 😋 Desserts were su yummy, I wish I had the tiramisu and the chocolate cake right now. They were small but delicious. 🤤 Also, the pricing was reasonable and not really expensive for what you get. 😜🤑 Overall, perfect place to have a meal with your friends and family. 🤩

We did thanksgiving 2023 dinner at Taverna and it was fantastic. The food (lasagna, fish special and thanksgiving plate) was amazing - flavorful, hot, NOT TOO SALTY. The drinks were delicious and our server was hilarious. Definitely on our “return visit” list

Beautiful view on the golf course. Fresh food. We enjoyed fresh pizza, pasta carbonara, gnocchi, fish of the day ,tuna! Everything was fresh and delicious! Also thanks to Alejandro, best server .. we went with his recommendations with food and wine! Thanks 🙏🏻

The food was excellent and the service was just as good. Friendly and accommodating people all around. Brussels sprouts are to die for. The fish special on fingerling potatoes and garlic broccolini was mouth wateringly good. Nice vibe and TONS of spacing with open walls so Covid safe, basically like dining outdoors.

We started with drinks and appetizers which were delicious. Our dinners were all amazing and we shared off each other’s plates because we couldn’t decide whose was best. The desserts Topped it off especially tiramisu! We ate in the bar and Hoaka served us and made recommendations all along! We even got a picture with him! All around great experience!

Let me start off by saying that the service was amazing here, and that is the reason that there is really any stars. The food, especially the chef specials, were extremely disappointing and definitely not worth the money. The food looks beautiful when plated, but not all beautiful food tastes good. I’d suggest going somewhere else if you want good tasting food, but if you only care about service then this place will please you.
Jessica Van Roosendaal — Google review
How can such a beautiful restaurant with such amazing staff have such terrible food? I really wanted this to be an amazing meal since it was my husband’s birthday AND Christmas, but it was not. It’s at the Kapalua golf course, which is beautiful. It is very expensive, so granted, I expected more. We started with the focaccia, olives and spinach appetizer. The focaccia and olives were great. The spinach “flan”, not so much. It was a weird texture without any kind of crunch and so sweet. Why would they put sugar in spinach? For entrees, we had the lobster pasta (the sauce tasted like sweet ketchup), the eggplant Parmesan (cloyingly sweet), the mushroom pasta (bland) and the fish of the day (at $79 I expected something with flavor). Overall, the food was a huge disappointment on two very special occasions. Just sad.

Best carbonara!!! The pizza was amazing as well. Ambience is very chic and beautiful views of the golf course. I recommend getting a reservation, but that’s true of any place in kapalua.

Taverna is amazing! The experience is great. We shared the Cristo Misto, Margherita pizza, fried Brussel sprouts for appetizers. Then I had the Casarecce con Cavolfiore Bolognese. It was excellent! And the desserts! Yummy Gelato!

My wife, daughter, and my sister and I ate here for a late lunch after our zipline guide recommended it. It did not disappoint! Everything was perfect. Delicious fish sandwich, crisp refreshing Paroni, and my wife mojito was 🔥. Great fries, and spectacular view over Kapalua

Great date night! Sat on the patio and enjoyed everything! We had the special, lasagna and the mafaldine bolognese. My husband started with the carrot and potato puree soup, seasoned just right, topped with roasted pine nuts. The portions were generous. Drinks were the Taverna Old Fashioned and pog with Ocean vodka, made on Maui. For dessert, we had the tiramisu, served in a small pot and very creamy.
Mary Hoffman — Google review
Taverna, conveniently located near the Ritz Carlton, offered decent fare for the most part, but the ahi crudo was a letdown. Three pieces of less-than-fresh fish with ponzu sauce for $26 left a bad taste. On the upside, the spaghetti carbonara was a saving grace, although portions were on the smaller side. If you’re in the area, consider exploring Kihei or elsewhere for a more satisfying dining experience.

Hawaiian restaurant
The Plantation House is a Hawaiian eatery located on the Plantation Golf Course. It offers stunning views from the 19th hole and serves elegant island cuisine. While it is known as a romantic dinner spot, breakfast is actually its specialty. The menu includes six variations of eggs Benedict, with the pork belly Benedict being a standout choice. Additionally, their Maui sweet bread French toast and pineapple upside-down style pancakes are exceptional.
Highly recommended. Beautiful restaurant. BEAUTIFUL VIEWS. Great food. EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE. The manager Elizabeth gifted us our meal because it came out later than expected. They gave us yummy banana bread while we waited and they came and check on us multiple times to see if we needed anything. The views were so beautiful and we were enjoying our conversations so we didn't even notice that we were waiting for our meal.

What a beautiful setting! We chose to eat breakfast here before my son played the course. Our server was friendly and attentive. I had the Portuguese sausage omelette and it was amazing. Even if you’re not a golfer, I recommend the drive up to Kapalua to have a meal here.

An exceptional restaurant with the best sunset view EVER!! My boyfriend and I came all the way from Vancouver to have our early anniversary dinner here and it was an amazing experience to say the least. Food was delicious. We ordered the Shrimp Scampi, Caesar Salad, and Brown Sugar Togarashi Seared Ahi. They’re all really good but my favourite is actually the drink. I ordered their Pain in the coconut and oh boy was that my favorite drink now!! It is tropical with a strong kick of coconut and pineapple taste. My only regret is that I didn’t take a picture of what goes into that drink and that I wouldn’t be able to recreate it on my own. Because it’s our anniversary, the restaurant did prepare to surprise us with some complimentary items and we cannot be more grateful for that. We had a great great time and we’ll be sure to come visit again when we’re back at Maui. 10/10!!!!

Such a gorgeous place! My family visited for breakfast and we just loved it! The food, the views, the service. To top it off, a rainbow popped up here and there on over the ocean while we were there. The food - so delicious! You must have the banana bread! It comes with a yummy tangy butter.

We were treated to a delicious brunch with incredible an incredible view of of Molokai and the Pacific Ocean. Food was fantastic, I had the veggie egg white omelette and it was delicious. The Bloody Mary was good, but incredibly pricey. The drive out there from Lahaina was also nice. Will try dinner here next.

We had a delightful dinner at this well-appointed upscale establishment. We were celebrating a special occasion, so the server was very kind to offer us a couple of glasses of complementary sparkling wine. The server tantalized us with her descriptions of the evening’s special dishes. The Two Fish Special and the Rack of Lamb. The Two Fish Special included snapper and butterfish's rich, buttery goodness. The soba noodles provided the perfect texture, while the crisp Zucchini added a refreshing and vibrant touch. This dish was delightful! We only wished the serving size of the fish was larger. The succulent tenderness of the perfectly cooked Rack of Lamb, paired with a velvety demi reduction, danced harmoniously on my taste buds. The side of impeccably prepared potatoes and heirloom carrots elevated this dish and provided culinary balance. The view from our seats was lovely as they had the dining room accordion doors open, we were treated to a lovely sunset and gentle breeze as the evening set in. This establishment is formal enough to dress up in, but the staff also provides a welcoming, relaxed appeal.

Food was amazing and so are the views. Get a table by the window but if you are not the views are still great. I went downstairs and took pics from the double doors and it's just gorgeous. We never had pineapple upside down cake and were hesitant to try it but it was delicious!!!! We recommend their lavendar drink, prime rib and the lobster ravioli.

If you're visiting Maui and you're lucky enough to get reservations at the plantation house, I highly recommend it. The plantation house view is exceptional. It overviews the golf course which is part of the PGA tour. I'm fairly certain it's the beginning of the season in January and they start here. I snapped a couple pictures that are literally breathtaking. The wait staff is exceptional. The food is also exceptional. I don't think I've had a better meal anywhere than this place. From the actual presentation to the taste it is a must have. Highly recommend will be back!!

My boyfriend and I go to Maui every year for his birthday. This is the second time going to The Plantation House for a birthday breakfast/brunch. We also had espresso martinis and they were delicious.

Awesome cocktails, food and service. Love that they had a hot soup. I like soup in all weather. The catch and the ahi were both excellent. Love the orchid in the cocktail and on the dessert plate.

The food is average at best considering how pricey it is. Got the Macadamia nuts crusted Mahi Mahi, it was ok. Don't bother with the salads, the panko crusted calamari was fine. Their cocktails were the best thing. BTW, you get automatically charged 4% on your bill that goes towards the members of the golf course..... really??? Come on.

If you are looking for a stunning setting to dine then consider The Plantation House. You'll need a reservation and if you make the reservation early enough you might be able to be seated at one of beautiful ocean view tables. Cocktails or wine selections combined with seared ahi or catch of the day will tease your taste buds and then you can top it off with dessert. Upside down pinapple cake smothered in carmel sauce with a scoop of coconut ice cream is sure to do the trick.

The scampi scrimp was juicy, flavourful, the sauce was a nice buttery flavour without being over powerful. The seared ahi tuna was outstanding, a good sear, crust with a touch of spice, with a good soft mash potatoes and cherry sauce with a bak choy The pina colda was the best I have had in the island so far, of course it had a dark rum floater The upside down pineapple cake was very good, the sweetness was balanced with the pineapple and coconut ice cream The service was outstanding

Hands down this restaurant is a must! Make sure to get reservations before even heading to Maui. We had a wonderful experience here, the entire staff is top notch. The was live music by a local artist, and our server was excellent. He was very knowledgeable about the ingredients in the food. The craft cocktails here are delicious and unique. The atmosphere is very classy yet chill. The sunset and view is a big highlight here. There is a area on the patio you can have drinks and just appetizers. Like I said before get a reservation for dinner. All in all it was a great romantic experience we enjoyed.

Each was absolutely terrific. Live music later through our meal added to the meal.

Really a great, well rounded, experience. I have been to Maui several times but this was my first visit to Merrimen's. It will NOT be my last. This is not an inexpensive restaurant, but the service, atmosphere, location and (of course) the food make it a very special place.

Merriman's is known for its ambiance open to gorgeous sunset views, delicious cocktails, and a master chef three course dining experience. Pick your appetizer, entre, and dessert. Everyone will find something they love. They offer free valet parking. Plan to arrive before sunset to take photos. There is a gorgeous bar indoors, but you must have a seat to order a drink. Similarly, you must be seated outside to enjoy a drink outdoors. So, don't plan to have a drink while you wait for your table.

Atmosphere: Upscale location in beautiful Kapalua Bay, complimentary valet parking, open-air, ocean-view dining, and live music. Service: Friendly and frequent check-ins during dinner. Food: well prepared and flavorful, 4 stars due to portion size and price compared to other fine dining options in Kapalua. However, overall still recommend Merriman's!

Book in advance, or look to see if you can get lucky with cancellations, and once there, just sit back and indulge. Mai tai with honey foam is very delicious, and perfect sipping with a view. We ate there on a Friday evening and there was live music, with a fabulous musician who was so kind to our 2 year old who loves guitars. About 20-minutes before sunset the clouds rolled in, so we didn’t experience the famous views as much, but the food and the service was impeccable.

We had the most exquisite experience at Merriman’s. We made a reservation for my birthday and I could not have been more blown away with the food, atmosphere and service. From valet, to hostess, to server, server assistance, amazing. The live music was outstanding and made the evening so much more. The views were incredible. Absolutely incredible. The food itself was to die for. Brandy, our server, was incredible thoughtful, genuine and personable. She made my evening absolutely wonderful. At the end of the evening she surprised me with a birthday dessert and offered me heartfelt birthday wishes. I actually cried tears of joy over the whole experience. And I’ve dined at many nice places. Oh, and the wine is great. Don’t play yourself, make a reservation in advance and go. You would be missing out not going here.

Pro tip: Make reservations before getting to Maui! Go here Wonderful meal and the best service we had on the island! This establishment is very well run and the meals were all excellent! There is valet parking which is complementary. Between two people, we ordered three appetizers, two entrees, and one dessert off the prix fixe. Chow fun was elevated, poki very fresh and clean, mango fresh salad so sweet and tropical with a nice peppery balance, lamb was the best version and Mac nut fish a must order so amazingly well cooked! It was warm for us as the sun set but that's how it goes. We were seated as close to the water as possible and facing west as the sun was going down behind Molokai. The dessert was also wonderful. We were so full, it was hard to make it to dessert, despite having leftovers from the entrees. Cost is currently $120 per person.

Stunning views and amazing ambience. There was live music that was the perfect volume and great lineup of songs. I dined with my husband and our three year old daughter - the staff could not have been more amazing with a small child. The octopus appetizer was delicious. We also had the beet salad, chili broccoli, fish of the day, and wok seared ahi and finished our meal with amazing French press coffee and the bread pudding. We had an early dinner reservation and were able to see the sunset from our table as we finished up. Definitely a must visit in Maui!!

Cane & Canoe, the signature restaurant at Montage Kapalua Bay in Maui, offers high-end Hawaiian cuisine in a modern and elegant atmosphere. This destination dining spot has received numerous accolades and awards for its open-air design inspired by traditional canoe houses and Frank Lloyd Wright's style. Enjoy spectacular sunsets in Cane & Canoe’s authentic, traditional Hawaiian setting. The relaxed, comfortable yet upscale ambience is enriched with island-style live music. The wine selection was lackluster but the mixed drinks were beautifully balanced. Locally sourced ingredients represents the best Maui has to offer. The honey served with bread service was exceptional. Dishes are creatively presented - a feast for the eyes - yet the flavors were uninspiring in comparison. The steak was underprepared while the fish was over prepared. Service experience was mixed. The hotel staff, such as valet, reception, and hotel manager were welcoming. The servers were pleasant, but seemingly overwhelmed. Initially, little effort went into describing the entrées, even when asked, and there were lengthy gaps between entrées. Service was similar to what you would expect for casual dining versus an expensive restaurant. Highlight: Sunset views, spectacular drinks and ambience

This place is AMAZING! Breakfast and dinner, you have an amazing view of the blue pacific. Great music and vibes! Note: The dinner does not have many vegetarian and vegan options, but the tofu and rice noodles hot pot which is vegan is still amazing. Drinks are amazing, service is amazing, 9/10. That rounds up to 5 stars.

Overall a disappointment. We were a party of four (two couples) and did the $99 pp 2 course prix fixe, no bread service. The Good: our server Ricky was very friendly and attentive. The gentleman playing guitar and singing Hawaiian songs was perfect. The starters were outstanding (we tried the octopus, hamachi, lobster Mac ‘n cheese and Caesar salad). The baked Hawaiian desert was amazing. The view and property are spectacular. The Bad: the women ordered ‘Fish of the Moment’ (opaka opaka) was cooked nicely but lacked flavor (salt?). The gentleman had the filet. One ordered medium rare and the other rare. The rare came medium rare and the other medium. The cut seemed of good quality but again, lacked flavor - the complete opposite of the filet we experienced the night before at Merriman’s. You have to question ability when a even a steak’s serving temperature cannot be executed properly! They redid a new rare filet but it took much too long. It was served as other were having dessert. They could have/should have said the second cocktail I had while waiting was ‘on the house’ but didn’t. So, in my opinion, this place is really only good for HH and/or if you can just stick to starters.

Hands down the most beautiful restaurant on Maui. While the Ritz is beautiful it’s smaller cousin the Montage is even more gorgeous. Right in the middle of the hotel is the Cane and Canoe. It’s pricy but worth it. Great good in a spectacular setting.

Fabulous place for dinner inside the Montage Resort with a beautiful sunset view. 5 stars food and service, nice way to wrap up the vacation!

Our Lahaina family( Melanio Sumer & his wife Katelyn Sumer) decided to take us,( their parents from Oregon) out to this beautiful restaurant for a wonderful night out! It turned into a spectacular experience. The hospitality was above and beyond. Our server Marc was so sweet and full of humor, he made our dining experience with our children and grandchildren so special! Their Chef Rico did not disappoint with the food. Our Salmon , brussels sprout and then that beautiful dessert! No matter what we had was above and beyond. Then for him to come out and introduce himself and to add to our experience, was the ultimate. Thank you all for the amazing evening.

Lovely location, their grounds are the prettiest I visited around Kapalua. But the food was really lackluster. I got eggs Benedict with side of hashbrowns and my husband got cinnamon roll French toast. On both, the bread was really oddly textured. Chewy and dense. The hashbrowns were also odd - chewy instead of crispy and very dry. We both got fresh squeezed juice at the recommendation of the waitress - the price wasn’t on the menu - when we got the check they were $16 each. Odd when the meals were only $26…I was pretty irritated to spend $32 on two juices. Complimentary valet was nice.

Good food. Attentive service! Great views. The banana bread muffins were delicious, the lattes were on point, those who enjoyed the Bloody Marys were pleasantly suprised. Their breakfast fried rice was delicious as was the mango chicken sausages...just go and check it out for yourself. Everyone ate well and enjoyed their meals.

The food was ok, nothing really unique or special. But the service, atmosphere and the views are top noch!

The food was unique and very delicious. Cocktails were some of the best we had on all the islands. Our server was wonderful! He was very friendly and attentive, even as the place got busier through the night. I can't eat gluten and there were so many choices for me on this menu - it was great! Highly suggest this restaurant and the neighboring bar. If we had the funds and were the couple that liked resort-style vacations, I would definitely stay on grounds too... The place was beautiful!

Sansei Seafood Restaurant & Sushi Bar is a Japanese restaurant located in the Kapalua resort area on the island of Maui. The restaurant offers award-winning sushi and hot dishes, as well as non-seafood options. Delightful decor and weekend karaoke make it a popular destination for visitors to Maui.
The food was delicious! The only thing is, the kitchen stopped taking orders at 8:35 and our reservation was at 8. So we had to make sure to put in all or our order before they shut down the kitchen. Would definitely recommend going though!

It's conveniently located for our stay. Not quite authentic, but some dishes are surprisingly good. The Butterfish appetizer is, well, buttery broiled/grilled with skin on to hold the melt in your mouth flesh. Brussel sprouts is also another great appetizer as layers of the sprouts are crunchy and the sharply strong taste was balance out with apple bits and cheese. The Sashimi Trio and Tempura roll were mediocre. We had tasted better. Nice atmosphere. Quite busy and the wait list was 1hr and 15 minutes. They seem to have several locations throughout Hawaii.

Came here by recommendation from our surf instructor. The rainbow rolls were good. The bar tender wasn't the friendliest to deal with. I asked him what he'd recommend out of two of the three dishes of dessert offerings and he said the one I didn't mention. We also had the fried calamari which was average. There was an office gathering or a company party of some sort who were extremely loud and cheering on every little thing which kinda killed the mood for us a bit.

Sansei has some of the best sushi I have ever enjoyed eating. Our server was amazing. He was friendly, quick and very personable.

A fantastic sushi restaurant within walking distance of the Ritz-Carlton Kapalua. Arrive around 4pm on Sundays and Mondays before the restaurant opens at 5pm to get in line for 50% off your sushi order! The miso butterfish and dynamite shrimp are a must, and the sashimi melted in our mouths. Warning, I tend to over order as we have to get the entire dinner order placed before 5:30pm for the 50% off special. We always eat here at least once during our weeklong stay on Maui.

Vegetarian, vegan and gluten green options. Takeout, full bar, accepts credit cards. Highly Recommend Reservations, as this is a very popular location and if you’re expecting to get in last minute you’ll be disappointed. We experienced long waits when calling to make reservations, calls that continued to ring unanswered and unfortunately disconnected calls. However, with perseverance and determination the efforts are rewarded with a great meal. Be prepared walk-ins without reservations are already lining up outside at 5:00pm to enjoy the tasty menu. Customer service is great. Be forewarned that some guests appear to feel entitled and come off demanding and rude. The wait staff maintains their professional standards and is to be commended. Be sure to let the wait staff know about any food allergies so that precautions are taken. 👩🏻‍💻

We have been coming to Sensei for more than 20 years and I can confirm that it is always amazing. Tonight was no exception. I do wish they had a better reservation system, but they save lots of room for walk ins. The service is great, the atmosphere lively and the food is so very, very fresh. Tonight we started with the Sansei Shrimp Dynamite (always a crowd pleaser), edamame and Miso soups. Then we share the special ahi poke bowl with a side of rice, Sansei Special roll, Spicy Tuna roll, Shrimp Tempura roll, Takhi Roll and the Lapperts Kauhi Pie. Everything was amazing! You can tell the farm to table taste. Sansei gets our highest recommendation!

Excellent meal. Never disappoints with the quality of fish, and innovation in rolls. Had the Blue Fin Otoro, what a treat!

Surprisingly food was not bad. We made reservation, gets busy and they are only open from 5pm to 8:30pm. Lots of parking. Friendly staff. Had sashimi, Butterfish and mash potatoe with shrimp and lobster.

Really nice restaurant tucked away in Kapalua. Staff was extremely efficient n friendly. We ordered a bunch of rolls that were outstanding, dynamite shrimp was out of this world! Calamari was lightly battered on a bed of lettuce, a great starter. Ended our meal with their delicious pie with chocolate n coconut, divine. Overall this a great place to hang out with friends and family, reasonable prices for the quality of food, excellent service n lively atmosphere.

Sonny helped us through the menu and service. Family style eating. Take it slow and order one thing at a time. It comes fast once it is ordered.

Sansei crafts delicious, fresh sushi. They offer a great selection of pastas, ramen and other entrees, too. Great service, fun atmosphere, lovely location. We have been enjoying Sansei for 10+ years and have never been disappointed.

Freshest, premium sushi, but also hot dishes and non-seafood options. I'm always ordering a variety of standard nigiri and checking the specials list. Hotategai (scallop) nigiri is so fresh, buttery, and sweet. Had to have the miso marinated butterfish small plate and the smoked duck breast is excellent, too. If you can't get a reservation, they offer takeout - not available through the website, you have to call.

Very good food, but definitely on the pricey side even by Maui standards. The edamame was great but Mom's Teriyaki Steak was phenomenal. The California Roll was good, but was a fairly small roll . We also had the Nobu-Style Miso Butterfish which I didn't care for very much as I found it to have a strong fishy taste (at least for me, it did). Also, as you can see from the photos, both the Butterfish and the steak were on the Small Plates section of the menu. The Butterfish was a very small portion, indeed. The Teriyaki Steak, however, was a surprisingly good size. Service was incredible: our server was a standout--fast, friendly, attentive, knowledgeable about the menu.
