Île aux Cerfs is an offshore island located off the east coast of Mauritius, known for its stunning white-sand beaches and turquoise lagoons. It offers a range of activities including boating, water sports, and a renowned 18-hole golf course designed by Bernhard Langer. The island is a popular excursion destination with various water sports activities available such as parasailing, underwater sea walk, speed boat rides, and tube rides.
Been there 4 times already. Very beautiful and accessible through boat. The transfer is affordable. Can swim and chill among friends and family. There is different type of food sell in restaurants and snacks on the Island. Public access to market, bathroom and the beach. Activities are sold on beach for adult and children. Grillade, Chinese and Italian food are seen.

The island is indeed beautiful but I do not get why everyone is so obsessed about it. The beaches all around Mauritius are as pretty as the ones here. We probably enjoyed the journey via the catamaran more than the destination itself but maybe we were expecting too much.
Patryk Podworski — Google review
We embarked on a delightful boat trip to a renowned island in Mauritius, a must-visit destination. During the journey, we marveled at the boat's skillful navigation through the waves, enjoying captivating performances. Our experienced driver ensured our safety and comfort. Upon reaching the island with our group of 10, we had only 1.5 hours to explore amidst a bustling crowd of tourists, making it challenging to fully enjoy the beautiful beach and sea sports. Despite the time constraints, the island's clear waters and lovely beach left a lasting impression. We also visited a tiny waterfall as part of the itinerary, which, in my opinion, didn't justify the visit. Afterward, we indulged in a beach BBQ lunch before heading back. Overall, the island's beauty makes it a worthwhile destination.

Île aux Cerfs is a stunning island, but no more stunning than many of the public beaches around Mauritius in my opinion. It's quite crowded with tourists, difficult to swim carefree due to razor clams and sea urchins, and many of the trips have additional costs to do things like snorkeling etc. Negotiate with the person selling you the trip and ensure everything is clear on what you get from the onset. The best bit, from my point of view, of going there is to enjoy the boat trip on the water to and from it.
Tom Harvey — Google review
The island is lovely. If you can resist the very persuasive ticket touts, I would avoid lunch at the adjacent island. It is little more than a mass-produced mobile beach cafe. However, it is I suspect a quintessentially Mauritian experience, and if expense is not your concern and you want a bit of fun, then it is an experience! And the food was basic but good. Otherwise, take your own picnic and find a quiet beach for a beautiful day out!

Stunning Island. And pictures can not catch the beauty of it but yes, would visit again if any chance.

One of the best beaches in Mauritius, well worth a visit if you're lucky to have good weather. The white sand against the black volcanic rocks and the tourcoise waters is just breathtaking. We organized the trip ourselves because we wanted to spend more time on the island. We took a transfer boat from Pointe Murice jetty ( 450 MUR per adult, 300 MUR per child - includes welcome drink and sunbeds) and explored the island at our own pace. You can park the car in the parking lot of the jetty. The return transfers are every half an hour from 3pm to 5pm(last one). There is a restaurant, a bar and a gift shop on site, a bit pricy, but it is to be expected. There are a lot of water sports activities. Do go early if possible. Between 11am and 2pm the beach gets very crowded with tourists from catamaran and speed boat tours. During lunch time try to avoid the beach area where the boat tours do the lunch grills(south from the Bubble beach). The beach is quite narrow, the tables are right on the beach, behind the beach there are a lot of "private property" signs(from the golf course) and it smells of fuel due to the high number of boats. It could be quite nice outside the lunch period.

Île aux Cerfs is a small island located off the east coast of Mauritius, in the Indian Ocean. It is known for its stunning beaches, crystal-clear waters, and lush green vegetation, making it a popular destination for tourists seeking a tropical paradise. The island is accessible via boat, and visitors can enjoy a range of activities, including swimming, snorkeling, and sunbathing on the island's pristine beaches. There are also several water sports available, such as parasailing, water skiing, and windsurfing, which are popular among thrill-seekers. In addition to its natural beauty, Île aux Cerfs has several restaurants and bars that serve delicious local cuisine and refreshing drinks, making it a great place to relax and unwind. It's indeed the islet with the most beautiful beach and the clearest turquoise water.

Very touristic spot, another must-do in the island. It is perfect for pictures and the sand is burning.

A must must visit island if you are visiting Mauritius. The place is heavily beautiful. White sand and serene water is just amazing. Spent a whole day on this island, enjoyed every moment and the memory is going stay with me for life long. It looks like paradise.

This place is magical, a bit busy bit you can always find a quiet spot. Nice little craft Market for trinkets and clothing. Extremely nice cocktails. We had an organised tour via aa destination travels and Nico boats with beach bbq, was lovely and not expensive, we were out all day and had a great time

It is a beautiful island, but a bit windy and the water cold, even if it is noon sunlight. The island was very quite during my visit, and we got caught in the rain during our boat ride by the slowest speed boat ever. It was a fun experience however, a must visit for sure.
Antish Gopauloo — Google review
Need to reach here by a speed boat. Beautiful island. Restaurant has basic pizza, burger and beverages, though expensive. Nice coarse white sand beach. There are activities like para sailing available, the touts although are irritating. The restrooms are stinky.
Ankur Bamne — Google review
GETTING THERE: We went by boat from a place called "Pointe Maurice" on Google Maps. You can park the car there. We paid 900 MRU (around €19) for a return boat ticket, 2 beach chairs and 2 welcome drinks. There probably are cheaper options, but this was a worry-free option with fixed times of return (every 30 mins). Don't let the gates/barrier scare you, the security guy at the barrier will gladly explain what you have to do. We love snorkeling so wanted to explore the east side of the more northern island (see screenshot for exact spot). We spotted some amazing animals, like: Anemone hermit crabs, large blue-spotted urchins (Astropyga radiata), different kinds of pufferfish, Schultz's pipefish, lots of moray eels,... The 'beach' itself on this spot isn't that nice, but underwater it's very beautiful. Well worth the trip for us!

Black River Gorges National Park

Mentioned on
National park
Nature & Parks
Nature & Wildlife Areas
Black River Gorges is the largest protected forest in Mauritius, located in the hilly south of the island. The park boasts two information centers, picnic areas, and over 60 km of hiking trails that take visitors through a wild expanse of verdant jungle teeming with wildlife, including nine endemic bird species. One of the park's main attractions is Alexandra Falls, which cascades 150 meters down into lush greenery and can be accessed via an easy walk from Plaine Champagne.
First of all, i'm VERY surprised to have never known about this stunning place while i was a child. If you either love hiking, running or simply strolling in nature, just to get away from the busy, hectic daily life, then this IS a very relaxing place to be. But if you're a novice like me, and choose to go for the 0.6km hike to 'La Grotte' then be prepared to be very disappointed as the 'Grotte' is so NOT the cave we were expecting to see but a simple tiny Virgin Mary with a lit candle there, which unless anyone knows the reason behind that being there, don't make any sense whatsoever... Saying that, the walk in itself through the forest is well worth it. And seeing the fairly big river at the end of the 'La Grotte' hike is also refreshing. What's also nice, is the ability to have picnics at the end of your hike, as there are a couple of benches and tables, either covered (for rainy times) or opened to nature. So bare that in mind if you do decide to bring some sandwiches with you. All in all, it definitely is worth visiting, whether you're a seasonal, professional or novice adventurer,as there are much longer hikes up to 9 km distance, which could take up to 4 or more hours, depending on how fit you are. So for those hikes, the obvious walking shoes and bottles of water are definitely a must. Just make sure you get there as early as 7am if you feel like or are planning to make a whole day of it, also to start the day, all being well, with not too many people around. Enjoy and be safe at all times...

Clean place, still you have some monkeys 🐒 🙈 🙊 around, if you dump food in bins, be sure to find it outside. Some local vendors of souvenirs and also some food stuff around. Parking available for bus 🚌, cars 🚗 etc, scenic view of mountains and greenery, you have kiosk to sit and enjoy a Lunch. Nice family time.
sahil roy — Google review
Great views and a really good hike to the top of a summit. Says it is a 4 hour hike, but more like 3 if you're averagely fit and don't spend ages at the view points (3). Last section just below peak is pulling yourself up on ropes but is not technical, the ropes are there for safety and assistance (would be tough to get up one section without them mind!)
Mark O'Donoghue — Google review
It was a breathtaking experience. The views that you can get is absolutely brilliant! I definitely recommend checking out this place if you haven't before! And while you are at it you can also go check out other nearby places like 'Grand Bassin'. Definitely worth your time!

Very nice and beautiful park. Don't know all the router, the one we took was a bit wild. You need to be fit to take the Maccabee route all the way to the top. It gets very slippery the higher you go and you need to use the trees and roots to hoist yourself up in places. Be very careful going down. This route has breaktaking views. Make sure you take enough water with and proper shoes. There are nice picnic tables to make use off. Lots of pretty birds 🐦 around.

Such an amazing viewpoint. Parking just outside and you have to walk three minutes to get to the viewpoint. Well worth it. Not crowded at all on the day we went

There is a string of scenic viewpoints in this National park where one can visit either in tourist buses or by their own car. Viewpoints are really good. Birdwatching can be another activity planned here. However, we did not find this place extraordinary. Can be skipped if one has tight schedule while visiting Mauritius. Not worth spending more than couple of hours. Ull have to walk a bit in someplaces which are not reachable bh car completely.
Prateek Tandon — Google review
Well that was an extremely tough walk. I was expecting a gentle stroll in the forest yet we did a monster climb of nearly 300 meters on rather treacherous, slippery paths. Had I known what the hike entailed before visiting there is no way that I would have done such a difficult walk. The day started off in pouring rain but that cleared eventually and we continued our walk. We reached the peak after about two and a half hours of walking though there was a choice to go further. It was a really really tough walk that I will not do again. Find Nomadic Charles and / or Luxury Travel Camel on Instagram for more fun photo’s and commentary.

One thing that makes mauritius a beautiful sight is the greenery and the blend of blue skies, beautiful turquoise oceans, and mountains. The view from this national park is nothing short of beautiful. However, I was disappointed we couldn't get to the foot of the waterfalls, which would have been much more fun than just looking at them, but regardless, it's a beautiful sight. 😍

Very nice nature. Without track shoes isn’t possible! We went from center (Black river entrance)to - Mare Aux Joncs Waterfall. The track takes 90mins one way. Be carefull you have cross the river many times. The stones are slippy. Bring drink and food! If you want to refresh yourself under the water (but its not so deep for swimming) take a towel and swimsuit. Follow the orange signs on the trees that show you where to go. Not recommend for little kids.

The Black River George National Park is the only one in Mauritius and was proclaimed as such in 1994. It extends in the southwestern part of the island with an area of 6,754 hectares, which corresponds to around 3.5% of the total land area of Mauritius. Black River George National Park is home to a large number of endemic flora and fauna. It is one of the rarest forests in the world.

The Black River Gorges National Park is the largest of the national parks in Mauritius. With a bit of luck you can marvel at over 300 different plant species and nine bird species that are only found on the island. The park is located in the southwest of the island state, around 40 kilometers south of the capital Port Louis and 22 kilometers south of Flic en Flac. Entry is free. The Visitor Center is located at the Black River entrance in the northwest of the national park. You can also park your car in the free parking spaces here. There is also a campsite at the visitor center. The park has a total of four entrances where you can park your car free of charge. The best way to explore Black River Gorges National Park is on foot. There are around 60 kilometers of hiking trails available to you. Take enough water and a little food with you, there is no way to buy food in the national park apart from the kiosks. There are also benches and tables at the park's viewing points where you can take a break and have a picnic.

My recent visit to Black River Gorges National Park left me captivated by its pristine natural beauty and awe-inspiring views. This expansive park is a haven for nature enthusiasts, offering a remarkable experience amidst breathtaking landscapes. What I loved most about Black River Gorges National Park was the sheer abundance of nature. The park is home to lush forests, cascading waterfalls, and diverse wildlife. The untouched beauty of the surroundings creates a sense of tranquility and allows visitors to reconnect with nature on a profound level. The views within the park are simply magnificent. Whether it was the sweeping vistas from the viewpoints or the serene atmosphere surrounding the waterfalls, every corner of the park offered a feast for the eyes. The panoramic views of the rolling hills, dense forests, and pristine rivers were truly breathtaking and created lasting memories. While the park offers several trails and routes to explore, I do have a suggestion for improvement. It would be wonderful if there was a dedicated route that provides easier access to one of the waterfalls. This would enable visitors of all ages and abilities to enjoy a leisurely walk and admire the beauty of the waterfall up close. Creating such a route would enhance the overall accessibility and allow more people to experience the enchantment of the park. Overall, Black River Gorges National Park is a nature lover's paradise. Its untouched landscapes, remarkable views, and abundant flora and fauna make it a must-visit destination. Immerse yourself in the tranquility and natural splendor of this national park, and be prepared to be awe-struck by the wonders that await you.

Black River Gorges National Park is a reserved forest in Mauritius. Offers a great panoramic view, specifically from the Gorges view point. There are several waterfalls in this park. You explore those by foot. It was a great experience for me to walk through the dense forest following mountain streams and reach the starting of waterfalls. This location is about one hour drive from Port Louis.

Le Morne Brabant is a historic 1,824-ft. mountain located in Mauritius, offering a challenging yet scenic climb to its sweeping views at the top. As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it holds significant cultural and historical importance as it served as a refuge for slaves in the 18th century.
Amazing place. Great hike up the mountain, incredible view. Most amazing scenery and incredible energy. Such an amazing place to be. Will certainly be back
Bradley Nakan — Google review
Amazing but difficult / dangerous Nearly half the mountain requires climbing with all four limbs, and the descent is arguably more difficult Don't attempt if you're not 100% comfortable with heights, have above average physical fitness, sun protection and good footwear The risk of slipping on loose rocks. A high risk of someone knocking these rocks from above onto your head, and the risk of the only rescue option being a helicopter It's the best view I've ever seen. However, I wouldn't do it again. And I suspect this can't continue like this without some safety enforcement in the near future You can walk halfway up a steep but stable slope and have a good view. I recommend this
C G — Google review
One of the most famous and important natural sites on the island, Le Morne Brabant, located in the southwest, is definitely worth discovering while trekking and hiking in Mauritius. While the mountain itself is not all that high.. it peaks at approximately 490m, it provides more challenge than meets the eye.

Loved the climb as a first time climber..trick I learnt is crab walking and gently pressing on the stones before actually stepping on them..

Amazing views to the ocean and surroundings. Hike wasn’t too difficult for us. The first part is easy and the second part is more difficult because of a little rock climbing. (Comparable to difficulty A of via ferrata)
Lenka Milichovsk? — Google review
Best sea view in Mauritius you can get. It is so worth to hike and climb there. We were worried about the final steap part of the trail, however is not that bad as described in previous reviews. It is doable without any bigger issues if you have suitable hiking shoes and you are in good physical condition. However, would say 90% is hiking in regular sneakers and there were also kids 5/7 years old that climbed to the top of Brabant. We did it without a guide. So no worries be brave and you can do it!
Nika Prozorac Dovalovsk? — Google review
Well worth doing if you’re travelling to Mauritius. You can’t get better views when at the summit!! A couple of warnings though… 1. The second half of the climb is STEEP and would recommend doing it with a guide for safe measure. It’s not too bad if you know where to climb but it can also become very dangerous if you go the wrong way 2. Aim to get there early to avoid large crowds up and down the mountain. We arrived at 7am (apparent opening time) and had to wait quite a while for a large group of 30-40 people go down the mountain. It’s quite narrow and not ideal
Nick Hansen — Google review
Amazing the hike it takes 1.30 minutes to reach the top. The second part after the green gate it’s a bit complicated.
Lorenzo Lacoppola — Google review
Great view, not easy to get to the top took us 4 hours. If you are afraid easily take a guid with you. Worth getting to the top
ofir shemesh — Google review
One of the best views on the island. The road path to the parking zone is not well maintained (lots of holes and protruding roots) so be sure to take a vehicle adapted or proceed slowly to avoid damaging your suspension. Recommend starting the hike early like 7am to avoid the harsh sun, especially now in summer which can be quite unforgiving. At the entrance, you will be required to sign in your name in a logbook (although I doubt they ever check it as many ppl do not sign out on their way out). Toilets do not work (nature is where it's at). The hike to the plateau is quite easy and this is where most of the people will stop. You can still get a nice view but of course the prize is at the very top. Now the ascension can be a bit tricky. There used to be ropes on the steepest paths but no more. However, it is doable, just need to be wary of where to grip and put your feet for support. The vjew at the top is worth it! Also, bring and drink loads of water! And don't litter or pick some up if you see some, let's keep this clean!
Damien Kong — Google review
The best hike on island. Truly recommend!
Sarah — Google review
Excellent! Go on a day when it's not raining, otherwise it will be a tough and slippery climb. The rocks are STEEP!
R KM — Google review
When starting a hike you should note in a journal your name, nationality, and entering time. The first part was a walk on the shady path. For me, it was like cardio training. There are two points with beautiful views to enjoy. Then the second part started, we climbed with no expectations to get to the top but the mountain just playfully took us higher and higher. There are places where the mountain is very steep. One place was quite challenging for me as a short-legged human, stood there for more than 1 minute trying to understand where to put my foot for the next step. No up, no down. At this moment I observed how my mind slowly started to panic. Breath in, breath out - no time for panic, fear, doubt, or mistake! Just need to collect all my energy to overcome this situation! All the daily life problems are gone while climbing, just pure concentration on the next step. The feeling of gratitude for being, humbleness, and admiration towards nature's power and beauty was present all the time! The higher you get, the more stunning gets the views!! (and also it gets windier) Although I didn't have a climbing experience and still all were good, joyful, and went smooth on this climb ( except for that one challenging moment, which for long-legged people might not occur), it is dangerous! Next time I would consider taking a guide (my partner disagrees with me). Yes, it wasn't hard at all, but it's good to be cautious and not to risk our lives. There are places where one wrong step could be the last one. Our lives are too precious to risk, try to save money, or prove something to someone. It is worth climbing Le Morne - amazingly beautiful views and it's a wonderful activity to do while spending time in nature. Winter time is great for climbing, it gets hot, but not too much. Enjoy it but with caution and non-slip shoes! :)

This is a volcanic crater with a lake in the middle. The road has been built right till the top, so one can directly drive to the crater and enjoy the scenary from the mountain top. Couple of best things to enjoy here are the scenic views of the surroundings and the cool breeze/wind at the top. Majority of the crater is filled with trees but the lake in the middle is good to look at.

Amazing place..... This massive attraction in the heart of Mauritius measures ( curepipe ) more than 980 feet in diameter and some 260 feet deep. Known for its humid climate and expansive 360-degree views,. Trou aux Cerfs Crater is a favorite spot among travelers seeking out natural beauty and quiet tranquility. While this dormant volcano hasn’t erupted in lifetimes, experts say it’s primed to blow any time in the next thousand years—a fact that lends a bit of edge to an otherwise peaceful excursion. I heard that, Trou Aux Cerfs is a german word which means (Hole of the deer.) The last eruption took place around the year 1200 and one can find many oak trees in and around the place. Just walkable distance from curepipe,

Trou aux Cerfs is a dormant volcano and is one of my favorite places to see Mauritius. The volcano itself is not amazing at all but the view over Mauritius from this place is great. Moreover, this is a key place for Mauritius, as the crater was formed during the volcanic activity that created Mauritius. Curepipe, close to this volcano, is also a nice place in Mauritius, especially for textile and handicraft shops.

A very very good place. The place is beautiful 😍 The atmosphere and ambience. A very intimate, romantic or family friendly atmosphere created by the lake, dimmed lights, and private tables on the lake. The restaurant is massive. A lot of effort has been put into this place. Lobster was good. Sauces and dips were great. Starters were good. Lamb steak was a bit dry and the food presentation could be improved to take this restaurant up to the next level. I would recommend this place. A very very good value for money and a superb restaurant.

Highly professional and quick service. I highly recommend this place for special occasion. Food: 10/10 Service :10/10 Price :10/10

The service was good. Overall food was good except for the steak which was hard to cut and keep chewing it for some minutes. The starters, other main food and the dessert was very good. I recommend the 'peche melba' it was excellent. I don't know for the other table but where we sat it was very hot and the ventilator was out of service.

Worst experience ever.. -Been there on the 10th of january. -No lounge or background music whatsoever. -Staff doesnt have any customer service experience. -stray cats walking everywhere. -food disgusting, frozen food aerved and main was just disgusting. -No local beer. Overall i would not recommend this place to anyone.I asked for a refund.

We expected better food quality and taste for the price. Cold fries while we expected mash potato to go along with the roast meat and been charged 315rs for a bland fried rice with no veggies which was supposed to be a side to a dish. You can expect better food else where for less. Nevertheless some dishes were good and atmosphere 5/5

Enjoyed our table on the deck. Really peaceful to eat surrounded by the lake. Really cozy if you are having a meal as a couple or even in a group. The food itself was really good. Only minus is it took a few tries to get the attention of the waiting staff. Other than that it was a great experience and it is highly recommended

Domaine Anna falls short of expectations, with its A4 flying paper menu seeming more gimmicky than practical. The cocktails disappoint with an excessive amount of alcohol, leaving little room to savor the flavors. Moreover, the tables were disappointingly dirty, detracting from the overall dining experience. If cleanliness and balanced drinks are priorities, it might be best to look elsewhere.

Fine dining restaurant
The romantic candlelit restaurant Le Château de Bel Ombre with its elegant surroundings, beautiful fountain and spiral staircase offers a perfect setting for a special Mauritian dining experience. The restaurant serves fusion food made with local ingredients - think braised wild boar - and traditional island dishes like ras el hanout.
Absolutely wonderful dining experience and impeccable service, highly recommend for anyone visiting the south of Mauritius. We ordered the 5-course dining menu and enjoyed every dingle dish. The property also has a cellar with a good selection of wines from both hemispheres.

Beautiful venue and gardens and a lovely ambience for dinner. The staff was great, and the cocktails were excellent but I would say the food is just above average. Nothing wrong with it and it was presented beautifully, but the taste was not exactly the calibre I expected. Although I would say it is more reasonably priced than I anticipated.

What an incredible experience. Excellent food, wonderful atmosphere and the setting is superb. The price reflects the above as it should, so if you can afford to add this into your holiday then you’ll discover it is a highlight.

This is a small château, but what a location! One could well imagine oneself to be in the Garden of Eden, waking up with the breathtaking from the château. Now a well appointed restaurant, nothing lacks for detail. The stained glass has been restored in the arches. It's a joy to visit this beauty.

The place is very beautiful and the French style of the lounge and the outside patio is very beautiful. The hosts are very friendly and personable. The food is delicious. And don't forget the singer and musicians. The atmosphere is great in this place

Our guide Kaleem took us to have dinner at this gorgeous restaurant in Mauritius. The food was definitely Michelin star worthy. The staff was amazing throughout entire restaurant. Our hostess gave us a tour of the restaurant, our waitress made wonderful dish recommendations and our sommelier paired our riches with the perfect bottle of wine! Seafood dish was perfect and the wild boar dish was amazing. We will return during the day to enjoy the views and will certainly return to have another delicious dinner.

Worth a visit if only for the opportunity to explore the house and grounds - which are full of history and very beautiful. The service was attentive and all the dishes were presented beautifully, and tasted just as good as they looked. Steep price tag compared to some of the other restaurants we visited but justified given the setting and level of service.

This is an absolutely gorgeous venue, inside and outside. We were fortunate enough to be there for sunset and arrived early to go for a little stroll around the gardens before dinner. The food is delicious and served by friendly, informative and attentive waiters. I had the wagyu steak for mains, which I would highly recommend. Just wish I'd saved some space for dessert!

The Château Mon Desir is an excellent colonial-era restaurant located in the upmarket Maritim Resort and Spa. It boasts a impressive wine cellar, making many of its competitors envious, and its afternoon tea with a wide range of perfectly prepared pastries, juices and hot beverages is popular among guests.
Went for the Easter Brunch. All the buffet is indoor and there are no live stations. There is an à la carte menu for eggs which is nice. The selection of food was quite nice and what I enjoyed the most were the entrées which were all very tasty and well thought of. The mains were average with again a large selection of sea and earth. I don't have much of a sweet tooth but there were a large variety of cakes, fresh fruits and chocolate fountain. The service was also great with very attentive and polite staff, kudos to them. Overall, enjoyed my time there and would recommend.

We ate here for our anniversary. Unfortunately for how nice the grounds, view and atmosphere was it can't make up for the horrible food and over priced for portions. We share the caviar app and you got 3 caviar eggs on each (2) pieces of cheese then we had the famous lobster soup. Maybe its famous for tasting dirty and burnt with over cooked lobster piece in soup. We then were served Chateau Briand that was ordered medium rare and came out you guessed it medium well. They also made a point many times that slacks, collard shirts and closed toe shoes are required for men at Dinner. Maybe I am an ignorant American. Our table was next to two men wearing jeans, table inside had a gentlemen wear a tshirt and sneakers, another was wearing a baseball cap and collarless shirt. Don't waste your money or time here. Go to Chatea Bel Ombrie.

Great afternoon tea on Saturday. The surroundings are well kept and very picturesque. We were the only clients so the ambience was very quiet. Nevertheless we still enjoyed the food and visited the waterfall located in the hotel itself. Will definitely be back for the brunch at chateau mon désir

Great experience. The food was fantastic and really good service. The building and surroundings are espectacular. There was a pianist playing most of the time while we were there. It was absolutely beautiful.

Overall good but not exceptional. Nice setting, good service. The amuse was a little piece of cheese with compote and some salade… no cooking skills needed to serve that! I liked the bisque the most out of the 3 courses we ordered. Duo of lobster had good sauces but the raviolis were to thick and plain so I could not taste their filling.

We had the salmon fantasy as a starter and the special dish (chateaubriand) as a main course, which was amazingly cooked! For desert we went for tiramisu and for wine we had the south African merlot. We enjoyed our meal, especially since there was also live music performed by a piano player. At the end the chef came and thanked everyone for their presence mentioning that ot was a pleasure to cook for us. This was a very nice touch! Congratulations to the team!

My wife and I had a lovely 4 course candlelit dinner on the outside terrace at Chateau Mon Desire. The meal was complimentary as we were on honeymoon and our evening was made to feel both special and romantic. The service was faultless and the food was delicious, all served up with some great wine.

Chez Tino is a Mauritian seafood restaurant that offers some of the best quality seafood on the island. The restaurant has a terrace that overlooks the coast, making it the perfect place to enjoy this selection. The menu focuses on quality over quantity, and the wine selection compliments each dish perfectly.
This place was recommended by a taxi driver from the hotel and we were a bit skeptical initially because we didn't trust him really.... So we checked the reviews and were positive and the pics of the food looked inspiring so we gave it a shot. We were extremely satisfied with the quality of the fresh seafood we had and the service. If you want to try local food with authentic Creole touch then you have to try it once. We're planning indeed to come back in 2 days!

Own opinion: Understaff and/or mismanagement which causes long waiting time for food. Food was ok-ish but salty on all menus The seafood are fresh though.
Rahul Soyjaudah — Google review
It’s a mix restaurant between Mauritian and seafood. Great service and staff but the food took so long I even felt full because of the waiting between the appetizers and the main dishes. Then the food tasted good enough but not as good as other sea food I’ve tried before.

We've been there on a busy Sunday. We did not have a reservation but they were able to accomodate us. The service was a bit slow, but we do understand as the restaurant was already quite full. It is a bit tricky to have a parking spot as there is limited parking space. However, our overall experience was nice. Good food portion for the price.

What a great meal! The food was impeccable and really amazing! We loved every minute and the waitress was so accommodating and warm. She even assisted with a shellfish allergen and made a plan for an alternate meal for our one guest. Food was delicious! Would highly recommend!

beautiful terrace. Food wasn't very special, fish plate was ok, lamb salmi was tasty and spicy. We had to wait more than 30 minutes for the water. At another table a cockroach flew into the food, the chef was only loud like the guest, something like that doesn't work at all. staff very slow. maybe we had a bad day

My family loved this place. They would give a five. As a vegetarian i give it 4 stars. I had a veg curry with rice and lentils. Both filling and delicious. There'a an option for rice or noodles also. Veggie options are however not mentioned on the menu. Oh as a starter i had veg samoesas. Superb aswell! Place looks clean, a table with sea view is also possible. Service is smooth and friendly. Yes i would recommend this place.

We had a great meal here with our 2 young children, coming from Anahita Resort. Kids ate the crispy chicken and the fried rice, along with ice cream for dessert. They liked the big fish tank in the restaurant. We enjoyed the green papaya salad, shrimp tempura, fish fillet, and Mauritian curry. There's a good sized balcony that I imagine is nice in good weather. It's casual with friendly staff and large portions for the price. A good escape from having the same resort food every day.

Visited chez Tino on a Saturday night under recommendation of a local guide. Called in the afternoon to book a table for 2 to at 8pm. There was no parking available on site, but there was plenty of parking spaces available on the street. Ordered sizzling ouritte and curry ouritte, with dim sum as a starter. Food was of a very good quality standard, and well presented too. Only thing to be aware of is the waiting time, we had to wait quite a while to get the mains (about 45/50 minutes), but it was Saturday night afterall, and the restaurant was almost fully booked. We could also enjoy live music from a local band, which was playing traditional music in the room next to us.

Savinia Bistrot is a great steakhouse that offers unique food and excellent service. The restaurant is known for its use of a Spanish PIRA charcoal oven, which produces exquisite smoke that enhances the flavor of the beef. The price may be a bit high for some, but it's definitely worth trying out!
