San Jose del Cabo

San José del Cabo is a resort city on the southern tip of Mexico’s Baja California peninsula. It’s known for its sandy beaches and colonial buildings. The San José missionary church, rebuilt in 1940, faces Plaza Mijares in the heart of the historic district. Nearby art galleries exhibit work by local artists. East of the city is San José Estuary, a nature reserve with bird species like hummingbirds, ibis and herons.

This is a great way to spend the afternoon on a Saturday where you can expect to find artesanal items as well as delicious and fresh food options that are very inexpensive. I was able to enjoy delicious grilled tuna fish tacos as well as fresh oysters and chocolate clams - don’t miss out on trying them!

We love visiting this Saturday Market while in San Jose. Great food booths. Incredible beverage choices (juices, kambucha, sodas). Organic produce. Fantastic artisans. Spend the day because you can relax in the shade of a tent and listen to great music while you eat delicious food and sip tasty beverages!

This is an event and organic market rolled into one!! Come out and relax, listen to music, get a massage, eat great food, get some of Sylvia's great juices, shop for unique items, do some yoga and enjoy!! A place to fill yourself up!!

Friendly atmosphere; nice space on the lawns of La Huerta Sports Club. Many handicrafts and delightful choices of foods with space to dine. Live audience music on a hippie type stage brings in many listeners…

I went in the morning before it got too busy, which was the perfect time for me. There was art on display, craft vendors, vegetable booths, prepared food, even a yoga class. My favorite part was that the Humane Society had a booth, and I was happy to make a donation towards their cause. I was told that in the afternoon it gets a lot busier, with entertainment. Well worth spending time there.

The market happens every Saturday from 9 AM in an open field about 1/2 km from the Catholic Church at the main plaza. People set up stalls to sell things they make or produces. You can find hand made jewelry, clothes, garden vegetables, art work and food. In the middle there was a childrens play area and the music tent Whole place was set up to spend time leisurely. Very enjoyable.

Having gone to the Saturday Market over the years, I think it keeps improving. I like the new location, and the vendors and entertainment are fantastic! It is fun to take time to speak with the artisans about their work. Come for a quick shopping trip or hang out and be with the community.

Adorable farmers market. 50/50 English speakers, expats, and local connections. Live music lineup, tons of good, local and traditional food choices. Arts and crafts to be had, massages, places to sit, areas with shade, meet local expats here! Now, where is the bathroom....

The Catholic Church's Misión San José del Cabo is a picturesque piece of colonial architecture located in the heart of the midtown region. The church was originally built in 1730 and has been renovated several times since then. Highlights of the site include the beautiful minister church, which was revamped in 1940, and the 19th century City Hall.
Attended Mass on Christmas day in this church. Take your photo in front of colorful sign!

Never been to any other missions so I don't know how it compares but it was neat to see while at the art Walk.

We visited this location as a result of the tour guide bringing us by this church location. Prior to going inside this specific church location, our tour guide gave us a mini history lesson on how the church was destroyed and rebuilt through the last hundred years of its existence. The tour guide also covered a few of the involved people related to the church history. The outside of the church appears to be renovated and painted. The inside of the church had members inside praying upon our entry, so the group was extremely quiet and respectful of the individuals sitting in the church praying as we walk through to take photographs and view the church. We did find that the church is still functional on several days during the week.

Nice, small local Catholic church serving the residents of San Jose del Cabo. I went for a Christmas mass, and it was packed with the parishioners. Glad to celebrate the birth of Jesus in a foreign country, but with the same faith :)

Interesting and iconic site to visit while exploring San Jose del Cabo. The church sits on the plaza in downtown San Jose del Cabo. This is an active church, so please enter respectfully and ensure you don’t interrupt any services or activities. If you’re a religion, history, and/or picture buff, you’ll love this small, charming mission-style house of worship. Take a moment to appreciate the building and the history as an important part of your understanding of San Jose del Cabo. Recommended.

Laid-back resort offering 2 outdoor pools & 2 restaurants, plus a swim-up bar & a beach club.
I had a fantastic vacation. Park Royal Los Cabos was quiet, restful and beautiful. It sits on a golf course in a beautiful neighborhood. One of the best vacations i have had in a long time. I will be back to stay in the future. Thank you

This is a decent place to stay but our room was not very clean. The grounds have potential but once again seating areas were a little dirty. This place is next to a golf course so great for golfers. The rooms have a kitchen but lack amenities and thoughtful creature comforts.
Bob Jacobs — Google review
Rooms need alot of maintenance done, hence the lower score. Nancy was very very helpful during our stay and Pepe the bartender was amazing. Housekeeping was great also.
Cindy Christiansen — Google review
A short trip to Cabo (SJDC) for a week. Used up timeshare points and stayed at Park Royal. We had a one bedroom with a kitchen and it was very clean, easy to change temperatures to be comfortable and we enjoyed the room. It had an adjacent room (single bed room?) where the doors are thin and you an easily hear the other guests. We like to cook when we travel so the kitchen was very basic... for appliances there was a coffee maker, a blender, toaster and microwave. A four-top stove was helpful to easy to use. The one and only kitchen knife was okay for the tasks we threw at it however not as sharp as I would like. The pool was nice and again clean. The deck chairs filled in quickly on sunny days and you may want to get poolside early if that is your plan for the day. We did not eat at the restaurant however we did take Pepe (bartender) up on 2 for 1 cocktails for happy hour. Those hit the spot. The location is a 10 minute walk to the beach, is close to grocery stores (2) and a few restaurants. In all, rather convenient. We did notice the highway noise at night and even wind coming at the windows - that too was noisy. The Park Royal is a convenient place to stay and in context for expectations, it is a 3-star facility. If you know what that means and know what to expect, then you will enjoy your stay. If higher expectations or more features or conveniences, then maybe another place is your direction.
Brian Misko — Google review
Older resort but very clean. Walls are very thin, and you can hear people in other rooms around you. Small pool and a restaurant. There is little service, some staff seem to try and others like cleaning staff are hit and miss. Have had to ask for water and coffee every day and have been told will get it to you as soon as possible, which meant not at all.

My family and I definitely recommend this hotel. Marco’s service was amazing during the hurricane. He would take us towels at any time and helped us with anything we needed. We would definitely stay here again.
Ariana Pedroza — Google review
Booked for 14 nights. Checked out after one night. Awful experience. Customer service was terrible. Waited almost 4 hours to get checked in, during which time we were bombarded with their sales pitch. Furniture is old and tatty. Bedding was grubby and bed pillows disgusting. The shower in the bathroom was a joke with water all over the floor after trying to bathe. The hairdryer handle dirty and full of old makeup residue, but the worst was the kitchen countertop. A health inspector should be called to inspect this place.
Rita Boland — Google review
We have stayed here many times before, so we know this is not a 4 star hotel. The location is great, Pepe the bartender is great, we never had an issue with the women cleaning our rooms, the beds are fine but very firm, as are the pillows. The other furniture in the room is the same couches that were here 18 years ago. The walls are very thin you can hear people shuffling cards let alone watching TV or talking and cooking. It definitely needs an updating we went through 3 fridges in our first week. Took 5 trips to the front desk to finally talk to the manager and get him to replace our food that was lost in the broken fridge. Apparently others saw fridges just getting moved from room to room. We weren’t the only ones that went through this, but probably the only ones who insisted on the management replacing everything that I boxed up and brought to him. There is 2 pools but the one is right outside of the rooms on a different level so we never have gone in it, it is small and kind of more private. The pool was heated maybe half the time, they were and always are having issues with it. The beds and the chairs around the pool have also been there a while. The seating in the gazebo areas are really old and worn out. I feel for the time share people who are trying to upsell the Royal Holiday and the Park Royal. There was so many people that were upset with this place. We did not go to the timeshare meeting, but the men were still very helpful with us and our fridge issues.. The beach is about a 10-15 minute walk away and the vendors there are always respectful. The walk into San Jose is probably 40 minutes , lots of restaurants and bars and shopping. Market on Saturday and art walk on Thursday. We’ve met many great people here but uncertain about returning. It really needs to be fixed up, but can’t say enough kind things about the rest of the staff

Plaza Mijares is a lovely plaza located in the heart of old San Jose del Cabo. It features a gazebo and a stage for various community events, making it a great place to relax and enjoy the local atmosphere. It is also easy to access restrooms (for 5 pesos). Weekday mornings are typically quiet, but during weekends it can be quite busy.
Great experience to explore this area (in may). A lot odfsun light, but temperature around 24 C. Cultural building and a lot of good cafe , shop around this.

Really nice plaza. Many visitors, and places to eat around it. Easy to get there. We parked about 5 minutes away. There was a wedding happening when we visited. Nice to hang out with friends and family. Roads are like the Spanish days, and many restaurants and stores to buy Souvenirs around. Also shops to buy tours and exchange money. Nice small walk all around.

Amazing place to visit. Safe and store owners are very welcoming, and there is no pressure to buy also reasonable prices. Thursdays are the best days to visit. Highly recommend to visit about a 20 limited walk from royal solaris where we stayed if you prefer to take an Uber about 3 dollars or 69 pesos

Love the quaint, picturesque little town. Its small narrow streets full of souvenirs shops, restaurants, etc. It's colonial look makes it very traditional and cultural embraced. This place is a must go on your list whenever you visit San Jose Del Cabo. Also, local artists will portray their beautiful art in the middle of the plaza starting at 4pm.

It was a fun Thursday evening checking out the many vendors selling their paintings and hand made goods. The flag lowering was wonderful to watch. We spent some time enjoying the show. The plaza has nice shops to purchase silver, clothes and such, and restaurants to have a pleasant meal at.

Plaza Mijares is a must-visit destination in San José del Cabo. The lively central square is beautifully decorated with trees, monuments, and striking buildings, making it the perfect place to start your tour of the city. The plaza is also a hub for cultural events, including concerts and dance performances. One of my favorite events is the Art Walk, which takes place every Thursday evening between November and June. During the Art Walk, you can stroll through the Gallery District, visit art galleries, sip wine, and dine in local restaurants. It’s a wonderful way to experience the local art scene and culture. I highly recommend visiting Plaza Mijares and attending the Art Walk if you have the chance!

This is a great typical Mexican plaza. It has small shops all around and easy to access restrooms (for 5 pesos). When we went, it was pretty empty, but it had a more authentic feel to it than any other area we visited in Los Cabos. I'd highly recommend checking this area out. Tons of breweries and food spots all over and no one pressuring you into buying anything.

The art walk on Thursdays is awesome !! Local artists display their talents, and you will see some street performers as well. Lots of shops and restaurants to choose from. Grab a drink or a churro, walk around, and enjoy the AMAZING artwork !

Went down on the Thursday for their art festival. It was fantastic while we were having a getaway from our resort. Love the food. Loved the activities in the streets. And the art was magnificent!

It was not crowded at all. Seems like a place that does get busy in the evenings. The Church overseeing the plaza makes it even better. Lot of food choices and suvenior shops around the plaza. Felt that most suvenior shops were over priced. Visited again on a thursday evening and the plaza had come to life with Art walk. The crowd was enjoying tge food, the art and the music. Changing tge review to 5 stars. I highly recommend visiting thursday evening around 6 and staying till late. Book in advance the restaurent you may want to eat at as no popular places will take walk ins on thursday.

We traveled from Los Cabos by Uber to spend a day in San Jose Los Cabos. It was definitely worth the time and money. There are tons of cute shops and restaurants. The town is just lovely. It is a totally different atmosphere than Cabo. I am told it is particularly enjoyable on Thursdays, but we went on a Wednesday. You can use the bathrooms in City Hall for free. We took a taxi back and asked them to match the Uber price....they were trying to charge quite a bit more.

At Tamarindos Mexican Farm-To-Table Restaurant, guests enjoy a delicious meal cooked with organic ingredients from the restaurant's own farm. The intimate setting and relaxed atmosphere make it the perfect place to enjoy a unique culinary experience. Tamarindos also offers cooking classes that allow guests to learn about Mexican and Mediterranean cuisine traditions.
The Tamarindos cooking class was the hi-light of our trip. The farm is beautiful and the staff is so friendly and welcoming. Our instructor, Iban was charming and personable. He made our experience wonderful. Make sure to head to the rooftop at sunset for some amazing views. We will be back!

A fine dining restaurant with an amazing atmosphere. I came here for Christmas dinner, and it was very spacious, but also cozy with beautiful lighting and natural plants all over the restaurant. The food was good, and the service was good, though the service wasn't like "exceptional". All the decorative lights around the farm was pretty to walk around after the meal, and took a lot of photos for memories. I think it would be a whole another experience if I come during the day, so you can enjoy the farms & all the plants they grow. Strongly recommended for a small group & couples!
Youngsung Byun — Google review
A fun and unique farmhouse environment, however on our visit there was also truly mediocre to below average dinner menu preparation. The Cornish hen and suckling pig were both under-seasoned, and significantly less enjoyable as compared even to similar dishes produced by the in-room dining kitchen at our local resort. On a not particularly busy night, service also took over an hour. At the end of the meal, staff also asked us to select a tip percentage from a pre-determined list prior to running our card, which felt awkward at best. Significantly less positive experience as compared to neighbors Acre and Flora Farms.

Beautiful farm-to-table restaurant/farm, with delicious food and service. I recommend you take the cooking classes but expect to be there about 4 hours. It was totally worth it and delicious. They also host events which would be lovely.
Juliana Sanchez — Google review
A must see! The place itself is so beautiful - you’re dining at a lovely place right inside/next to farm area, decoration and vibes are on point and the people are very nice. The food itself is super fresh (they incorporate a lot of the food right from their farm/garden). Would recommend the caprice salad (the freshest tomatoes! And basil pesto was amazing) and the pasta. The veggies in the pasta were so good and the shrimp version as well is perfectly seasoned and cooked. The fish tacos were solid but the pasta was definitely the highlight.

Absolutely beautiful estate! I went here for a cooking class with two of my very good friends. The location is a little bit difficult to find, and well worth it! The scenery is beautiful, the dining room is gorgeous, and the staff are wonderful. We had a blast at the cooking class. We made tamales with green pork mole, fresh tortillas, and sea bass ceviche. All delicious!

We had lunch at this beautiful place outside San Jose del Cabo. Very tasty meals and friendly service. W Most of all we enjoyed taking a walk in their garden, seeing all the vegetables and fruit they grow and use in the kitchen. The sunset from the rooftop was overwhelming.
John W. Bertell — Google review
We were really excited to visit this farm but we didn’t quite have the experience we were hoping for. We spent three weeks in Mexico and had a bunch of incredible meals and this meal at Tamarindo was by far our most expensive meal of the entire trip, and we didn’t feel that the food warranted the high prices. We had red wine and it was $20 USD per glass. There are no prices on the menu, so we didn’t know the high costs until the bill came. Our octopus appetizer was great and the caprese salad was very good, maybe a little heavy on the basil dressing/sauce. The fish we ordered, sea bass, was unfortunately over cooked ($29 USD). The pasta with veggies + shrimp was delicious ($31 USD). The staff was really friendly and gave us bug spray because we were being eaten alive by mosquitoes. They were also burning herbs nearby to help ward off the bugs. Overall we weren’t overwhelming impressed but we did enjoy some of the dishes and being there at sunset was beautiful! There are a few farm to table experiences in the area, also with more reasonable prices, so I would recommend trying more than just one!
Arielle McCracken — Google review
This was a wonderful and fun experience. The food was fresh, flavorful and delicious. Our drinks were made to our tastes and the dishes were thoughtfully created. We watched the sunset from the roof too, walked the garden, and just had a lovely last even in BCS at Tamarindos. Oh it’s a special occasion restaurant, not an everyday $$$$.

Amazing ambiance. Rooftop area you can see city light from. Excellent tamarindo salad which was fresh, flavorful mixed greens with a sweetish balsamic vinaigrette. Perfect. Only complaint was that the baked sea bass was served about 20 minutes after everything else.

Our family had an amazing experience taking a cooking class at Tamarindos. What a wonderful way to learn about local Mexican cuisine and culture - one of the highlights of our trip. And the food was of course outstanding! If you are visiting Cabo with your family I strongly recommend booking a class - you will not regret it!

From cocktails to dessert…… pure excellence. The food was well thought and delicious. The atmosphere was amazing and beautiful. Will be a definite stop on next visit to the area as the menu adapts to the season and it would be a guarantee of an absolutely lovely evening. The road to the destination crosses a normally dry river bed so your gps will not match the actual road as the flooding changes the route. I had the smallest of economical cars rentable, fwd, and it was fine…. Just keep it on the road😏

This is the most delicious, beautiful, special meal you will have in Cabo. The farm is magical with so many fresh vegetables and herbs, all of which are part of the delicious dishes. The food here was the best in Cabo, and one of the best meals we’ve had, in general. We had the grilled Caesar salad, catch of the day, and fettuccine. The flavors were the most unique and delicious. We can’t wait to come back and recommend this to every visitor!

Excellent local restaurant. Been here multiple times on vacation from the US and the food and service is excellent. No issues. They use Fresh herbs from the gardens to make their signature dishes and cocktails. Did a private cooking lesson here with my husband for our honeymoon in 2022. Can’t say enough nice things about this spot. Only issue is the road to get to the restaurant is very rural and can get super bumpy. Other than that totally awesome.

Taco restaurant
La Lupita is an L.A.-style taco restaurant with live music and a young, alternative crowd in Los Cabos, Mexico. It is always lively, and its tacos are some of the best in town. The drinks list is impressive, with choices ranging from traditional jicaras to tequilas and mezcals. Crowds spill out the door during Los Cabos' monthly Art Walks, but La Lupita is always packed on a nightly basis.
WE ARE IN FOOD HEAVEN!!! So so so good. The tacos 🌮 🌮 🌮 are simply amazing so is EVERYTHING on the Menu. Yum! There’s a lady in the patio making fresh corn tortillas, they give you complimentary shrimp broth that is to die for, the salsas are made with care and full of fresh peppery flavors. Very courteous staff. Great cocktails. Will definitely come back many times again.

Excellent service and friendly staff. I'm not a fan of the expensive "craft-beer," but they have a couple of others. The tortillas are freshly made, you can see the process and it's fascinating to watch. Love the tacos and hot sauce. We'll be back.

Despite being very popular and full of tourists (especially older folks), this place lives up to the hype. The food is great for the most part, not 100% authentic but not too far either. Their service if phenomenal and quick, churning out tables quickly. Their drinks are also really good, especially their house cocktails. We had the beef tongue, cheesy pastor, and barbacoa tacos which were good. Their churros were also delicious. We didn’t have a reservation and showed just before 5pm and got a table, even on a Thursday (art walk) night. We were seated right by the kitchen, which isn’t great but I wasn’t going to complain since I had no reservation. There aren’t many tables so that’s why it’s always busy.

This place is fantastic. Great atmosphere. Helpful wait staff. Delicious food. We had various tacos which we loved. They hand make the tortillas right there in the courtyard! The margarita we had was so-so but the rest of our experience was great.
Andrew H. — Google review
For all of the nearly empty places in the Art Walk area, this one was full. We were disappointed that there weren’t any tables available at 5 pm (need to make reservation!), but luckily a spot opened at the bar. We started with the namesake Mezcal, served in a traditional jicara with worm salt and oranges for palate cleanse. This was a cool experience, like the locals would have done before glassware. We then had the bean soup in tiny espresso cups, and it was so hearty and flavourful - a nice, complementary pre-meal teaser. Next were the tacos - with various sauces of rising spice level. My wife had 3 delicious vegetarian ones, and I had the pastor (pork) which was freshly cut from the spit as well as the catch of the day fish taco. All were awesome. The band played from a terrace up high, and that added to the atmosphere.
Paul Nayyar — Google review
This is one of the great taco shops in San Jose, haven’t been to the on in Cabo, but I am sure it’s the same. great food, great service, and not over priced. Had El Pastor tacos, on taco Tuesday and didn’t realize it was two for one…Cadillac Margarita is really good. My daughter had the skinny margarita and it was a little limey, but that was her margarita. Had the guacamole, it was more than enough for a table of four..the one thing I wonder is why they serve a fish soup for a taster, had it four times and I don’t like a strong fish flavor, maybe they could give another option, I appreciate a taster for free, but I don’t like sending it back because they put a lot of work into there food.

This restaurant offers by far the best food, the best mescal and the most fun in the Los Cabos area Each and every taco is specially formulated with perfectly prepared meats and the best garnishments and spices to create a wonderful taste sensation with every bite. The food and service was so good that I passed on the special cuisine nights at my resort hotel in order to enjoy La Lusitania two dinners in a row. The side dishes are also Very flavorful, well prepared, and outright delicious. Over two meals my brother and I were able to try almost every different taco, the ceviche, the tortilla soup and the fried oysters. All were exquisite. The taco meat options include wonderful variations of beef, pork, chicken, and fish. The restaurant also offers an outstanding selection of the area’s best tequilas and mescals. My brother and I each sampled Two of the three flights of mescal which let you sample 3 of the mescals. The mescal pours in the specialty wood cups are plentiful and you definitely end the evening with a pleasant warm buzz The service was outstanding, friendly and fast. Recommendations about the food, drink and area were free flowing, friendly and well received. I have two recommendations for the restaurant. 1) They should work with the local mescal and tequila producers to offer sample sets of mini bottles of the liquors as souvenir gifts. 2)They should keep an extra supply of the wooden mescal flight sets for sale as souvenirs.

Tacos absolutely SLAP!!! Place came highly recommended by multiple people and I believe it deserves the hype. Service was great, ambiance was nice and overall just a lovely experience. Our group of 3 tried 10+ different types of tacos and all of them were either good or great. Not super big though so would recommend making a reservation. At this location the only way to do so is by calling or by chatting with the hostess. Will Defs be back

Definitely great tasting tacos, the bone marrow taco was so good! I’m kinda surprised by the price though, it’s even pricer than San Francisco? About $7-$10 per small taco! This is one of the first few meals I’ve had since arriving Cabos, maybe that’s the normal price here. Other than that, everything was great!

Tacos were good but I have had better pastor. Drinks were a little watery. Corn cake dessert was ok. We were coming from Austin and have lived in Mexico city for many years. Was expecting more maybe. Salsas were great and so was the guacamole with chips. Service was amazing

The best tacos I’ve ever had! La Lupita has an amazing large menu with multiple options. If you’re in San Jose del Cabo this is a must. Make sure you have reservations. The place gets pretty packed. Service is also really amazing with efficient, and friendly staff!

Absolutely delicious tacos!! My favorite has to be the cheese crust pastor. Omg! So good! The wait staff was excellent and our food came fast and hot. Great service and I'll definitely be returning. Delicious!

🌮🌮🌮 and 🧉🥃🍹🍺 SO good. Very interesting taco menu with an excellent selection of mezcales and cocteles. Here’s what we got: Hibiscus mezcalita Sopa de mariscos (complimentary) Nopalitos Esquites Chips and salsa Panuncho Tacos - miso fish, pastor, oxtail

The employees are so friendly and on top of everything, from service to making sure your drinks are filled. Loved the atmosphere, and the tacos were so delicious. Don't forget to get the churros.. you won't be disappointed.

First visit: Great food, insanely fast service. The one thing was that we sat at the bar, so the live band was very loud and we didn’t have a ton of space. Otherwise, great value, meal, and service! I will say that the hibiscus margarita tasted amazing but made my stomach HURT very badly for about an hour after I drank it. :O Second visit: Had a pushy waiter who acted impatient and rude to me when I was trying to order around a gluten sensitivity. He was brusque and unhelpful. I almost walked out in tears because of how he treated me; I was very unhappy. I asked him about ingredients in the hibiscus margarita and explained what had happened, and then he had the nerve to ask me if I wanted to try a different drink ha ha ha ha. Kind of clueless. I also mentioned this to the restaurant on Instagram via DM, and they didn't offer to say anything to the waiter or offer any kind of apology. It's too bad because the menu is inventive and the prices are great, but my opinion of this place has depreciated the more I interact with them.

Highly recommend to go here. We were lucky to walk in during the art walk without reservations. They were very accommodating and we sat at the bar with a known reservation an hour and a half away, still plenty of time to eat and enjoy. The tacos were some of the best I’ve ever had. The hibiscus mezcal cocktail was so good I needed two and there was a tight 3 piece band that started playing covers from my childhood. Definitely going back again. This time with reservations!

Fun vibe, enjoy the courtyard at vibe. Good service...friendly guys. Great selection of tacos...decent execution...chicken overcooked, but the flavors were definately there.

The food and atmosphere were wonderful. Out taxi driver recommended that we eat here, and I would second that recommendation. They started us off with a little cup of fish soup, then we got the fried cheese app. YUMMY, it came with homemade tortillas, beans that were out of this world, a HOT pepper, and several salsas to complete the bite. Then we tried several different tacos, which were wonderful. I do not recommend the Flank steak taco, the meat was boiled instead of grilled and not very appetizing. That is my only complaint. It also gets very warm inside the restaurant, so where lite weight clothes.

Jazmin's Restaurant is a great place to go for a delicious meal in downtown San José del Cabo. The food and drinks are authentic, and the atmosphere is fun and inviting. The service is top-notch, and the patio is a great place to relax while enjoying the breeze.
Great vibe, Several different rooms all with their own mood. Staff was fast and friendly. Food and drinks were out of this world! Started with Chips, Salsa and Guacamole. Finished our lunch with a trio of Grilled Fish and a Trio of Grilled Shrimp Tacos.

Came highly rated from our guide book. It is located in the heart of the art district and the servers were super attentive, kind and helpful. Beautiful courtyard and patio overlooking a busy but quiet street with galleries and tourists. Felipe was our server and was so lovely. We had the fajitas and octopus tacos. A mojito, beer, two meals was about $70 USD. Highly recommend!

Beautiful place. Great service. I sat on the front patio. Had the chicken mole and they had hard cider (my favorite). Very relaxing, the fans on the patio do a great job of cooling you off! The chicken was delicious.

The atmosphere is unmatched. The staff is nothing short of amazing. A special shout out to Eduardo, he taught us some Spanish words, and was the MOST gracious host. The breakfast is to die for, and I especially recommend the horchata (with rum!)!

We had an incredible dinner at Jazmin's. Not only were the food and drinks delicious and authentic, but the live musicians were so entertaining. The food and drink portions are more than enough and well- priced. This restaurant is a great location in downtown San Jose del Cabo, and has a fun and inviting vibe for tourists- highly recommend!

Must try! When we arrived they took us through the whole restaurant (it’s huge) to a room in the back with AC and live music. We asked to be seated on the front patio instead which is a more relaxing vibe, especially in the evening. Dishes: - Guacamole- 5/5, homemade chips make it even better - Red snapper- 5/5, was very fresh and rich in flavor - Fajitas al pastor- 5/5, you’ll love this is you like the sweet and salty combo, the pineapple helped bring out good flavors. This dish is huge so we shared between two and still had leftover. Drinks: - Strawberry Margarita- 5/5, boozy and just a good amount of sweet - Pineapple juice- 4/5

Attractive place, good service, and good food. I had the flank steak with 2 small cheese enchiladas. Decent-sized meat but portions were small on the sides of rice and beans. Cost was more expensive than back home! Come for the great atmosphere and the show. There were musicians and dancers that entertained us.

The food was what I would get in America at a decent restaurant. The flys were so bad we were spending more time keeping them off our food and our heads that it was hrs to eat. They did bring us a turbo with rosemary and lime burning that made the flys go away when we asked for help, so that was good. But for three of us with no alcohol it was 160$ American dollars for a 60$ meal. Sorry we won’t be back. The pictured food and drink below is all the food we ordered that night.
Peggy Trumble — Google review
Whimsical garden ambiance. Our server was friendly. But the food .. it was quite mediocre, especially for the price you are paying. The chicken in the enchiladas was super dry and no flavor at all. Avoid the child rellenos, really disappointing. The batter is all wrong- way too much flour. And the rice was shockingly gringo even for a tourist spot. Mole was good, and my husband liked the lamb taquitos.

01/2024: Our fifth and final visit, since 2018, to what use to be a 5 star all around experience at Jazmin’s Restaurant on Thursdays. We never got our entree after 80+ minutes, for a 5pm reservation. DO NOT sit in the back room (photo attached). Sit on the terrace or in the garden, especially on Thursdays for the show, to experience Jazmin’s atmosphere. See the great photos in other reviews. If we had sat in the back room in 2018 we would have never returned. The show was the worst this time around too, or was it just the back room, and the mariachi band never came to the back room. The back room is like another restaurant. A second server kept approaching our table asking us for our drink order, entree order, etc. when we already placed it. “My tablet is not working.” A bunch of rookies took over apparently. The bathrooms were also filthy and the night was just getting started. Our visit started off bad and just got worst. We made a 5pm reservation for the garden months in advance but ended up in the back room. “Don’t worry the entertainment will be just as good as the garden.” Lies! After 80+ minutes we never got our entree. I was looking forward to the Octopus entree. The server was apologetic and offered to comp the WHOLE meal but we insisted on paying for what we had, $95 USD + $20 cash tip. The manager never came over to our table, although our sever spoke to him just feet away from our table. Embarrassed much? POOR MANAGEMENT/Leadership! The show was awful on January 18, 2024 at 6PM and so was everything else.

Our family enjoyed our evening! The decor is beautiful! The food was delicious and the service was excellent!! The portions were huge! We were even serenaded by a mariachi band. We will absolutely be back!! We recommend this restaurant!

Had a lovely time at this atmospheric restaurant with helpful and kind staff. Some of the food was very good, and I liked that they have a variety of dishes from a variety of regions of Mexico. Unfortunately, the chicken mole was charred to dryness, and the ribeye was undercooked. At these prices, there shouldn't be errors like that. Selection of spirits was excellent, great cocktails, and the mariachis who came by our gorgeous outdoor table sang with heart and skill. Parking is a bit tricky, but do-able.

Brewpub
The Baja Brewing Company is a microbrewery located in the heart of South Beach. They serve up a variety of beers, including IPAs, blonde ales and lagers, for consumption at their pub or for export. All their beers are only available locally, so if you're looking for something specific, be sure to check their menu!
We love our local craft beers back home and we are right at home and comfortable here. Twice in 2 days, will become a daily stopping place for a meal or just a beer. Service is great, and a great selection of beers. So nice on the outdoor patio. Great service from Alberto, Carlos and Ricardo.

One of the best places to have craft beer and tasty food in San Jose. All the beers I have tried here are incredible. Talking about food I had the nachos with arrachera and the french fries with pork, both were amazing but my favorite ones were the fries. Totally recommended. Everyone was very kind, attentive and they provide very good recommendations based on what you like to drink and eat. Service was fast. It is a nice, and clean place to have a beer after a walk around San Jose.

Charming brewery in San Juan Cabos, where the wings and fish and chips left a lasting impression. The wings were perfectly crispy on the outside, with a flavorful, juicy interior. The fish and chips were a delightful combination of flaky fish and golden-brown, well-seasoned fries. The housemade beers complemented the meal beautifully, offering a diverse range of flavors. The lively patio provided a pleasant outdoor dining experience, making it an ideal spot to savor both the food and the atmosphere. The service was excellent!

There are two great Baja Brewing locations. There is the rooftop in Cabo San Lucas which is walking distance from the marina and it has magnificent ocean views. Breakfast, lunch and dinner served there. The second location is downtown San Jose Cabo which has the official merchandise store. Also great beers and food service. Very friendly and helpful staff. COVID-19 measures taken. Here they have q full body sanitizer as you walk in. ( If you have any open Beveridge or food cover it up or it too will be sanitized 😆). This location is on street level, you. Can't miss it. We enjoyed a few beers and wings. It's a great spot!

We had a couple of pints of their Baja Lager, “La Surfa”, as an aperitif before a much needed taco lunch. Casual yet beautifully functional indoor and outdoor seating; would have loved to linger afternoon at the outdoor bar overlooking the street. The waitress was awesome and engagingly friendly.

Busy spot especially on Thursday night when the Art Gallery Walk is on. Local young folks and many older tourists. Beers are great. Food us simple and tasty. They also do pizza. There was live music too a great band. Highly recommended but not for those who want to have a quiet night out!

Steak nachos are huge and to die for. Shrimp tacos are so yummy and fry the big burrito. Bet you can’t finish it. Staff is friendly, beers are good you can try what you want. Worth the trip from hotel.

OVER PRICED. The beer is good I must say that, but what you pay for food is not equal to what you get nor to what it taste. Salads are lousy, they did have fries with the burger so they put there 1 leaf of lettuce ripped into pieces. The hamburger was so so, but the meat was flavorless and cooked less than medium rare. Go eat somewhere else if you cam then stop by to get a beer. That's my 2 cents.

I would highly avoid coming to this Brewery unlessyou want to be robbed. I came to this brewery over the weekend with my family and attempted to pay my tab with an American Express card. The waiter then took my card and came back and advised me that they do not accept American Express, so I paid in Cash. I then reviewed my statements and was charged in addition to paying cash. To make matters worse, I paid with a $50 bill and received the incorrect amount of change in MX$. I was shorted about $10. They are definitely doing some shady business here. I have uploaded a picture as proof I was here.

If you sit at the bar, ask for Marco. He is knowledgeable of their beers, gives samples to choose our beer, and helped me choose the right mezcal to sip. I also enjoyed the margarita pizza but hated the seeds at the crust. It was unexpected and inedible. I do love this place because it is a true Brewery, and you feel their passion. Ps. Once inside request an invite to their speakeasy. Drinks are average, but the experience is dun!

We enjoyed the caprese pizza - the addition of spent grains was very unique and added a nice texture to a delicious pizza. We tried their two IPA offerings and they were pretty good. We recommend sitting at the bar that faces out into the street as a prime spot to take in the sights and sounds of San Jose del Cabo.

I believe I left a much better review in the past. The most recent visit in September was not so great. We made time to visit Baja brewing to enjoy their artesional beers, which we found to be very good during our previous visit. As expected, the menu and beer selection had not changed much. My wife and I were the only customers there for at least the first hour, weathering the heat and the horrible music. We asked the waitress if they could change the music to lively up the place because who wants to day drink and listen to somber music. She kindly told us that the music was controlled and monitored by corporate and could not change the music. So we decided to finish our second drink and get the he'll out of there before we fell asleep. So corporate if you are listening, no one wants to hear your dire electronic music at 11 am. while on vacation in mexico. Change the damn channel. Oh, and change up your beer selection.

Here is a photo of my empty glass while the 3 staff had a good chat. Once is okay, twice is a bit annoying, 5 times is just hopeless. Every time we wanted to order another drink or food we had to flag down the staff who were more interested in having a catch up. It's a shame because the drinks and food are good but being taken for granted isn't okay. If you want a tip, you have to provide service.
Paul Ryan — Google review
Terrible service and extremely slow. There were a total of 4 tables with people. Still did not get our order after 40 minutes. When asked the waitress was rude and said it won’t get our food anytime sooner. 40 minutes for 3 tacos and 1 burger in a nearly empty restaurant. There is poor service and there is this restaurant!

Argentinian restaurant
The Latin American restaurant Choriarte is a popular spot with menu items from Venezuela, Colombia and Argentina. There's something for everyone at this busy eatery, whether you're in the mood for empenadas ( Greece -style turnovers filled with meat or vegetables) or barbecue. Outdoor seating is perfect on warm dry nights in Baja California Sur.
One of the best meals I've had in a long time. Everything we ordered was full of flavour - arepas, empanadas, watermelon sashimi, and dessert. There are so many good restaurants in San Jose but this spot has gone straight to the top of my list. The staff were so friendly too.
Lauren Kallen — Google review
They explicitly ask for 15% tip at the very least! This is the first restaurant ever I've eaten at where they ask for more tips than you want to give. I've gone to this place three times now and knew already it was an expensive but tasty restaurant. It ends up being expensive because of the amount of food you get for what you're paying for. However, my last visit was surprising when I was paying the bill, and the waiter asked me if I wanted to leave 15% tips instead of the 10% I was willing to give. I mean, he was quite insistent, he asked twice since I said no the first time! Is this a good or bad thing? For me it was bad thing, and a very unpleasant moment. I always give a tip of 10%, no matter the place, no matter the service. I know: this is a controversial subject where you never know how much is too low or too high, regardless of the local customary. This whole thing made me re-think again: Why should we always leave tips at restaurants? Why don't we give tips at the car wash, at retail shops, when you buy an tire or when you buy a TV? Tips were supposed to be something extra, an non-mandatory additional monetary reward for an outstanding service, but its purpose has turned more into a obligation nowadays and restaurant owners have been taking advantage of it to pay their staff less. At work, I do my best and don't get tips, Should I? The core issue here is that waiters/waitress/cooks/staff don't earn enough at restaurants because restaurant owners don't pay enough, and they make the diners accountable for it by asking to pay 15%/20% more on top of the bill. In short: Choriarte's owners - Pay your staff more so they don't have the need for asking diners for more tips. Needless to say I won't recommend this place as I used to do.

Came here on a Saturday for dinner and had a really nice time. The place is comfortable with a fresh and relaxed environment. Food was good, a few plates were just a bit bland to my taste but overall nothing to prevent me from paying them another visit. The have a nice cocktail menu that is worth a try. Service was really good, Cesar and Hector were our waiters and they treated us very well. Would definitely recommend if you are already in the San Jose area, make sure to make a reservation in advance as the place can get a bit crowded some days.

Needless to say, incredible food! Super unique Argentinian flavors and there wasn't a single dish or drink we ordered we didn't like. The service was so friendly from the moment we approached the restaurant and were warmly invited to dine with them. They gave great beer recommendations and the red and sparking sangrias were refreshing 🙂 Also neat to see an all women kitchen staff!

Before you go, know that this is a place for meat eaters. They can probably accommodate you if you are vegan though. The service was good. It is placed at San Jose's most iconic location. The small, colorful and cozy streets of the Center provides this place an extra bonus. The staff is friendly and attentive, food is really nice and fresh. The outdoor design/atmosphere is very pleasant and warm. It's a great place to go for dinner and also to grab some drinks. There’s even live music, so if you’re looking for a new spot to relax and enjoy with friends, head over to Choriarte.

My FAVORITE restaurant in San Jose! The kitchen here makes octupus the right way- seriously, the best I've ever had. Also the bone marrow is a must-have every time I go. The decor is lively and unpretentious. There is often live music and the vibe is always GREAT!
