The Connemara National Park Visitor Centre is a great place to visit if you're looking for beautiful scenery and interesting information about the nature park. The centre has displays on the park's history and natural features, as well as tips on how to enjoy your visit. There's also a coffee shop where you can grab a bite or drink.
One of my favourite places to visit. Another breathtakingly beautiful park great for all ages. The staff of the coffee shop were great and food delicious and reasonably priced. If you get a chance go to the graveyard near the Ellis trail, it's in memory of the many young boys who died in the letterfrack industrial school many years ago. It's an emotional visit be prepared

Good for hikes of every level! In order to reach the summit you might need an hour approximately depending on fitness level and weather conditions. (rocks might be a bit slippery if wet)

Green trail is closed for maintenance. Yellow, blue and red trails are open for hike. Well marked pathways with sign posts along the way. Must go if the weather is good

I loved the exhibition inside the visitor centre, the painting of the animals that live in the national park was stunning and the information about the blanket bog was very clear and made it easier to understand quite a complex habitat.

Superb facility at the foot of a bit of a tough hike! Perfectly clean toilet facilities, adequate parking, friendly tea-room. A pleasant visit all round!
Martin P — Google review
The entrance to the park is right beside Letterfrack. A short road winds up to a decent sized car park, where the visitor center is located. For EV owners, there is a charge point and 2 designated EV spot so you can juice up for free! Just ask the person in the visitor center for the fob to start the charge. There are porta loos in the car park too. You enter the park to the left of the centre and walk down a trail to the cafe, more loos, picnic tables and a playground. All 4 coloured walks start from here. Green is the shortest, about 15 stroll through the woods. The other 3 head up the nearby hill. We did the yellow which was 1.5km as we have small kids. This was perfect and along the trail there are cows, horses and sheep. The trail rises gently before looping back to the cafe. If u fancy a bit more exercise, take the red or blue loop as they climb up the hill to take in great 360 views of lakes, islands and beaches. Well worth the visit if you are in the area, free admission at the moment too.

Entrance to Connemara famous park, very nice personnel that will give you all the necessary info. During the hike, remember to pack some anti-insect spray ! The mosquitos are tiny but fierce. You have three hikes : a very short one, a medium one and a more difficult one that goes to the top of Diamonds Hill, only choose the last one if you are a confirmed walker are the step are steep !
Walker Yggdrasil — Google review
Recommend the visitor centre and the walks starting here. The walks are pretty easy going but come with some great views over land and water. The visitor centre is well worth popping into. Lots of information about the local land and peat, not too much, concise, interesting and easy to follow.

Great park with a few different trails to suit different people. There are some amazing views at the top. We were lucky enough to see some rams up there too. There is some interesting things to see in the visitor centre too. Parking is fine and there is a small cafe on site.

I really enjoyed diamond hill. The only issue is that since it's one of the only walks in the national park it's very heavily trafficked and once you walk up it you have nothing else to do. For everyone's sake, please develop more trails and get the western way and greenways off the road! It's truly scary to walk on a narrow road with 100km speed limit! For example maam valley is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen but I'll never be able to go there.

Amazing place, well done & kept in immaculate condition. I done the Diamond hill hike, was a tough climb near the top(& midges going mad biting didn't help, but it is a bog after all) the views on way up & at the top was breathtaking.I was lucky with the weather which helped with climb & views.A credit to all involved making the path up & down Diamond hill.

This is a beautiful garden that commemorates those who donated their organs. The birdsong and the greenery are quite enchanting, and the attention to design and maintenance is a reflection of the reason behind this place. There are wild flowers and green areas, as well as color and depth in other planting. The stone walls add a calming feel, while the monuments with inscription give it an extra level of respect. This is definitely a great spot for family outings or just general relaxation.
Beautiful garden and surroundings, great and peaceful ambience. We Love the natural beauty.
Abin Thomas — Google review
This was a lovely Garden we came across on a day trip to salthill. It is directly across the road from the Prom restaurant in salthill. I don't know the history of it really but what I gather is it's a piece of land that the local community took on to make into a garden of remembrance and is more about the memory of organ donors and a contribution to them. It's so lovingly set out with a pond on one side and water fountain, a small bridge you cross by a small man made waterfall. A pathway that leads to an area which is the 'Circle of Life'. With plenty of planting and a low stone wall built surrounding it with rocks from different place around Ireland, county by county, as seen I'm my pictures. It's a really lovely place for a short stroll around and there are benches to sit down and take it all in. Its run by volunteers in the area and it's a really nice place to be. They have all done a really good job😊

The latin quarter of Galway's city is utterly flawless, that is with the exception of this restaurant. This restaurant offers an overpriced drinks menu, a wondrous display of overcooked dishes and a wait-time that pushes the boundaries of human patience. Suffice to say that this particular establishment deserves a blind-eye

The heart of Galway is Quay Street, pumping out a rich blend of ambience, music, food, history, people, and more. This street is one of many that stretch south from Eyre Square toward the Corrib. When here you must take a stroll and admire the beautiful historic buildings, window-shop at one of many artisan boutiques, and people-watch from a café or restaurant. Please, don’t miss a stop at one of the pubs along the way. This street is known for having some of the best nightlife in Galway because of its welcoming atmosphere.

It is such a shame that a historic street such as this is so commercialized. Who wants to walk down a 400 year old street and see McDonalds or Krispy Kreme? Epic FAIL city planners.

Rinville Park is a large park located just outside of Galway City, and includes a public park-and-ride facility. The park includes walking trails, an outdoor gym, BBQ areas, and picnic areas - making it perfect for visitors looking for a relaxing day out.
Ample parking, walking distance for toddlers, lovely fairy trail in particular and just a nice place to have a walk. Playground is good and there was an ice-cream van there which seemed to be semi permanent rather than for just the day.
Shane D — Google review
Lovely park, it has a great set up for children. Fairy houses, bathrooms, playground and it has a coffee truck. Benches and tables around the place, perfect for picnics. A barbecue area and a beautiful Castle for a backdrop. A big enough park that is dog friendly. Ample Parking.
Danielle Heekes — Google review
Clean, neatly maintained park. It has a long walkinv trails and a big children play area. You can have eateries beside the child park on weekdays (not sure of timings though).
Ajay CM — Google review
Such an amazing area. The forest walk is wonderful at any time of the year and the playground is great for the kiddos. The pier has some gorgeous views and even a little cafe style place for a quick cuppa and a sandwich. During the summer they have crepe and coffee trailers in the park beside the beautiful old buildings. The outside excersise area is also very convenient and there's two car parks for easy access

Hadn’t expected this… such a nice walk, with fairy trail in the woodland, a small pond where you can spot herons if you’re lucky, a completely ingrown mansion, castle, picknick areas, coffee hub, sea views and in spring an impressive flowering of wild garlic coloring the whole spot in white. Definitely worth a stroll!

GALWAYTATTOOS — Google review
Great place for the kids. We had 5 kids under 7 with us on this occasion. Plenty of parking. Bring buggies or balance bikes or scooters for the small kids. A lot of walking. The playground is fab for small kids. They love the area around the castle. The fairy trail through the woods is very very good. The toilets have been open over the summer, and v. clean, with nappy changing facilities available. I found these toilets are frequently closed in the past, maybe it's a seasonal thing. Beautifully maintained and clean park. Huge space for the kids. Plenty of picnic tables for the snacks. My only complaint is the ice cream van, its approx 2.50-3euro a cone, no lower price for a small child's cone. The ice cream is delicious, but it's there all the time and the kids always look for it, which often ends up with a few tantrums. Easily pass 3-4 hours with kids there if bring drinks and food.

Olga Vencele — Google review
A nice park on the water with some cool trails to explore. Not very or complex but still allows for a nice day out. The fairy forest was an interesting surprise and was definitely cool. The park has a lot of different sections which provides a cool experience seeing forests, ocean, a castle, a park for kids, bogs and more within an easy short loop around. Parking was quite easy particularly since it is April and not a super warm day out
Dorian Munro — Google review
Nice Park by the sea. Good picnic tables. A pity the children's playground was closed for renovations. Might have been better to do this in wintertime when less usage requirements?
patrick howard — Google review
A very, well-kept family park. Lots of space to relax on the grass or on the benches. Has a good sized playground for the little ones. Excellent for walking. Stroller, kid and wheelchair friendly (Inc. Specifically designed benches to accomodate for wheelchair users). Dog friendly as well!
Ingrid Fenech — Google review
A fab park to exercise the dogs whilst parked up ready to go further to the harbour for a stopover in the moho. The park goes further into a wood picnic and great play area for kids.

Lovely park to visit. Large grass area to play on, quality walking paths. Excellent short hiking trails. Little bit of history tucked in between the park and the play area. Ice cream cart was open when we were there. Does have toilet facilities in one of the main buildings. BBQ area with picnic tables close to the playground. Lots of parking available, unless it's sunny, you might have some trouble finding a parking spot. Beautiful forest to explore and the fairy trail is beautiful with all the little fairy doors against the trees. View of the ocean is right there while you relax when the kids play on the large grass area. Bins and chairs available near grass patch. Dogs are welcome to join on the walks.
Ally Tideswell — Google review
This is a beautiful park with walks, lawns, and plenty of space for picnics/fun outdoor day. Picnic tables are plenty, and the areas are clearly marked. Parking is available on two sides of the park.

It's clean and kept well, Great place to bring the kids with the playground, and you can smell the wild garlic when you walk through the forest, the open spaces for the dog are great, and also the walk by the sea is something I'd recommend.

Irish restaurant
Aniar has earned a Michelin Star and is known for its 16-course tasting menu. Chef JP McMahon uses traditional cooking methods such as pickling, smoking, curing, and fermenting. The restaurant also offers inventive dishes like oysters with sea lettuce. Aniar's simple ingredients are turned into marquee performers by the chef.
Wonderful fun dining experience! Thanks so much to all at team Aniar for your delightful food, wine and fab service. What a fab place to celebrate my birthday! We found flavours and our all round experience to have surpassed all other wonderful nights that we dined at this restaurant. Look forward to our next visit already! Well done and thanks to all of you!

Thank you to the chef & staff for taking us around Ireland. Exquisitely tasting all local products. The tasting menu with the wine was incredible. Simple, beautiful ingredients combined simply, freshly & innovative. The oyster ice cream was mind boggling, the mushroom & hamhock divine, beef carpaccio sent us into silence because each bite was perfection. The sommelier introduced us to sake, wine from Slovenia (wow!) and a Spanish white(moscatel) that fit with each Irish delight. Michelin star well deserved. The timing of each dish- perfect. The venue- cosy lit, comfortable chairs, beautiful soft warm interior, perfect temperature, noise level low, space was sufficient. Not pretentious, international staff, kind, warm and perfectly professional. And the nice touch of an envelope at the end- which includes the menu & wines, and map with list of suppliers.

A small boutique restaurant that has a neat character. I never tried a Michelin star restaurant they offered 23 courses.. In all a neat culinary experience that allowed us to taste all kinds of food from the region. I recommend.

A very special experience that we won’t soon forget. The staff, decor and the tasting menu were all world class. So proud to have such a restaurant in Galway showcasing what Irish cuisine can be with creativity and execution.

Absolutely devine. Every dish was delicious and the drink pairing absolutely takes it over the top. Lovely atmosphere and great conversation. Highly recommend this five star experience.
Troy Millwater — Google review
Gorgeous intimate Michelin restaurant, very professional and polished, as you would expect. Staff were lovely, and the plates were gorgeous, and delicious, the photos say it all. Top tip, ordering a couple of bottles from the wine list is probably better value than the flight of wines, you won’t get to try as many tasty wines, but you’ll get more bang for your buck. In a similarly ‘thrifty’ vein be warned that the glass of fizz offered on arrival is €25.
John J O'Malley — Google review
Exceptional food, superb experience, we had the 22 course tasting menu and wine pairing. From start to finish it was a welcoming friendly experience. A creative use of flavours, textures and presentation. It is exactly what you would expect from a Michelin Starrred restaurant and they certainly didn't disappoint.
Alan Docherty — Google review
My girlfriend and I have been all over the world and have dined at multiple Michelin restaurants. Aniar was quite possibly the best we have ever had. So much so I’m beginning to question the Michelin Guide itself. The food and service are on another level. Definitely worthy of 2 / 3 stars. The addition of poems about “Bread” & “Oysters”, the fact that our menu could be planted for us to grow Chamomile, and the overall fact that every part of the menu came from western Ireland was fantastic. I’m utterly impressed/amazed that I have a better understanding of Irish food without even trying classic Irish dishes. Anier is what Irish food should be. Local, sustainable, and seasonal. The oysters ice cream, goat cheese with asparagus, and the venison with sunchokes/maitake mushrooms were our favorite. The edition of local drinks and juices were also a highlight we recommend. Not just the uniqueness of them but how they complimented the courses they were paired with. Do your self a favor and take the 3 hour drive (or 6 hour) to Galway and go here. It might just change you. It did us.
Stephan Richards — Google review
What an enjoyable experience! Many surprising wild ingredients - such as kelp, sea radish, wild garlic - in the menu. Amazing flavors but with enough challenge for the taste buds, not relying only on the safe bets. Interesting wine pairings. Great service with relaxed atmosphere. I’ve tried not to become a ‘foodie’ but this kind of places make it difficult. 😅 Highly recommended!

My wife and I have been fortunate to have had some wonderful meals over the last few years and this meal was one of the best. From the moment we arrived to the time we left the experience was top notch. We appreciated how each course was discussed by the chef or server that presented it to us and answered our questions clearly. The sommelier was excellent as we discussed the type of wine we enjoyed and he guided us to a few selections that might work for us and the menu and the choice we made was excellent as was the sherry he suggested for the desert courses. The use of local ingredients in dishes that truly were unique made this our favorite meal during our stay in Ireland.
Sal FromCal — Google review
A very special and memorable meal. Aniar is a one ⭐️ Michelin restaurant which is very well deserved. A 22 dishes diner which are for most of it outstanding, all products are Irish sourced. The 22 courses meal is 140 euros, a real treat and a meal to remember
Myriam Ward — Google review
We’ve been to some of the Michelin star restaurants, but this was the top until now. The food was delicious, local ingredients, picked with care and love, the international team was professional, friendly, helpful and funny, the ambiance very nice and intimate. At the end we received an envelope with food menu and food story/providers and some suprises … The price is high, but it’s worth it. Really an unforgettable experience, not to miss if you are in Glaway.
Urša Žorž Požrl — Google review
This was a lovely place to get a taste of Western Ireland. From the food to the service it was an intimate show of culinary work with both land and sea on display. My favorite part was how personable the chef was!
Anna Moore — Google review
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Aniar, and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we stepped in, the ambiance set the stage for a remarkable evening. The decor is elegant yet welcoming, creating a perfect balance of sophistication and comfort. The service was impeccable. The staff were knowledgeable, attentive, and had a genuine warmth that added to the overall experience. Now, the food – it was nothing short of a culinary masterpiece. Each dish was a unique blend of flavors and textures, presenting traditional ingredients in an innovative way. The presentation was artful, and the quality of the ingredients shone through in every bite. It was evident that there's a high level of skill and passion behind the kitchen doors. In conclusion, Aniar is not just a restaurant; it's a celebration of fine dining at its best. It's a place where every detail is considered, and every dish tells a story. I highly recommend Aniar to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience. It's a true gem that deserves all the accolades and a mandatory stop for any food enthusiast visiting the city. Five stars all the way!

Our meal here was an absolute delight! The food was tasty and creative and the staff was incredibly kind and helpful. The plating of each dish was beautiful, and we covered a wide range of flavors and ingredients over the many courses. Our visit was definitely a highlight during our visit to Ireland, and it was definitely the best thing we did in Galway!
Josh Bittinger — Google review
I usually don’t write reviews, but when compared to another one star restaurant we went to the night before, Aniar did not meet the expectations. Perhaps we came on an off day, but the dishes served to us did not have the same level of intricacy or the level of care raved by other reviewers (see photos). There were many repeated elements throughout the 20+ courses - such as the dusting of nettle powder and the usage of tuile for texture. (Another item I suspected was the seafood custard cream being used in the chawanmushi and the oyster ice cream.) In addition to that, two of the dishes we had were too salty, we couldn’t finish the cod with barbecued kale despite it being visually pleasing. As for the service, we found it to be pretentious. When paying, the waiter asked what our jobs were with no intention to continue the conversation. The chef of the evening rushed his greeting to us but when we were leaving, took his time to make nice with another table. Both interactions at the end ruined an otherwise decent dinner.
August Liu — Google review
I booked a table for my brother's 40th Birthday. He hadn't stopped talking about JP McMahon for weeks, so it seemed appropriate, especially as the restaurant was freshly re-opened. I have never eaten in a michellin starred restaurant before, so it was new for me. I didn't know what to expect although I was a bit worried it would be pretentious or stuffy.... I needn't have worried as it was relaxed, friendly and honestly incredibly hospitable. And the food was mind-blowing! Oyster icecream is a game changer, apparently!

Located in a historic building on the edge of Galway city, Brasserie on the Corner features delicious local seafood with steak and deli boards also available. The restaurant source carefully chosen ingredients from all across Ireland, making it a great place to enjoy excellent food while supporting local businesses. The intimate decor and small menu make Brasserie On The Corner perfect for an intimate dining experience.
LOVE this restaurant! It’s connected to a pub so it’s handy to get pre/post drinks, if you wanted. The ambience inside the restaurant is the best - cozy and warm, with music playing on just the right volume. Tables are also well spaced so you don’t feel crammed. Noise levels are also very low despite the restaurant being fully booked the night we were in. Food was great! Starters were a bit small so recommend not to share although it is enough because the mains are big. We ordered the steak which comes with their own sides already which we thought was the best option if you wanted to get your money’s worth. All the staff are all so friendly and professional as well! Overall, I would return happily and recommend to others if they are in Galway.

The Brasserie on the Corner is a gem. Even with all the great restaurants in Galway, we consider ourselves lucky to have eaten there twice over St Patrick's weekend. And, as we've noticed with all the restaurants we've stopped at, the decor is beautifully unique (one of the coolest bars I've ever seen!) and the Brasserie is no different. The first time we stopped at the Brasserie was for a late breakfast after our bus had arrived in Galway. My wife had a 'mini' Irish breakfast, which was probably big enough for two, and I had the French toast. Both meals were outstanding. The second time we stopped for dinner and enjoyed the experience immensely. On the servers suggestion, we got a whisky flight and shared mussels in a white wine sauce for an appetizer. We were amazed there were at least 50 mussels in the bowl! For dinner, my wife had the seafood chowder (every restaurant puts their spin on this Irish staple so it's worth trying!) and I had the roast shoulder of lamb with peas and potatoes. We finished dinner off with a caramel sticky bun with ice cream. Delicious! The Brasserie on the Corner is a wonderful eatery. I'm sure if we'd stayed more than 3 days in Galway, we'd have eaten there again. Enjoy!

It’s a shame… it’s a shame we haven’t saved more space in our tummies before the dinner. Lamb shoulder was so soft and juicy - simply unbelievable! Very attentive and friendly staff, perfect surroundings- I’d be delighted to come back any time soon!

A good option around, however when seated near the entrance it can get quite cold. The food is good, the service is generally nice as well. However the blonde lady at the door welcoming guests could be a bit more friendly and/or a bit less biased, as she was welcoming Irish guests with a big smile, but not the foreigners like us. She also seated us in the pub near the entrance instead of the restaurant part. It felt a bit odd. Otherwise the food was good and the cheerful waiter guys saved the day. =)

Greeted by great service on entering. Ordered the mussels and sirloin steak. Mussels was plump and the garlic broth was amazing~ do ask for some bread so you can dip it in the garlicky yummy broth! Loved the steak! The onion ring was huge! Cooked well as per your request. Will really recommend here for the food, service and atmosphere :)

The seafood chowder is good enough to convert me to a foodie (it was amazing!). The daily special casserole was also delicious. The Guiness went down well with both, and the staff were accommodating to my slightly rushed requirements. Well worth the time.

Amazing food and lovely restaurant. We both ordered steak and was the best steak we have had out in a while. And then creme brulee for desert. We will be back. Booking is needed, especially at weekends.
Christina Barr — Google review
Good value for your money, especially if you go between 5 and 7 pm and get the prefix theatre menu. Food was very good and the service was great. Slow cooked lamb shoulder was fantastic. Sea trout was flakey, but the risotto was a bit under cooked, steak well seasoned and cooked perfectly.
L Lacy — Google review
Delicious modern European cuisine. I had a vegetarian Tamarind Carrot with chickpeas and smoked tofu. Wife had Sticky Sweet Pork Ribs. Desserts Peanut Butter Parfait and Sticky Toffee Pudding were fabulous (but we both thought the toffee pudding was best)!
Jeffrey Cooke — Google review
The staff were very friendly and kind. The food was underwhelming and not worth the price. The chips didn't have much taste other than the oil. The steaks were slightly undercooked for myself and overcooked for my partner. The red wine sauce was quite nice I have to say. There was an overwhelming use of fried onion to me as it covered the stake and overpowered the meat's flavour that I expected. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant but the bar itself has some local craft beers which was nice and are good to try of you're interested.

We really enjoyed our meals and would definitely return to this restaurant. We had the Roast Breast of Irish Chicken and McGeough’s Slow Roast Shoulder of Lamb. Both were excellent and very tender. One in our party needs to eat gluten free. Both were very safe for her to eat. Our third meal was a filet, which was delicious and also very tender. This was not GF in the picture, but can be made GF. They had fresh GF bread and an assortment of regular bread for the non GF eaters. Crème brûlée was gf and fantastic, sorry no picture, Great place with great service.

Had a dinner there on Saturday night and loved everything about the place. Reasonable prices for delicious food. Especially, my favourite dessert from now on is crème brûlée with pistachio ice cream. The front lady was very calm and welcoming even thou the place was extremely busy . Took one star off (would only take just half off is there was such option) because out table wasn’t wiped after previous dinner and I’ve asked a girl to do it and request was ignored. Also, the table next to the door is not for everyone as you can feel the cold from outside every time someone coming in/out. Highly recommended for people any age .

The service was impeccable, and our waitress was not only beautiful but also incredibly lovely. She made sure that we had everything we needed. The design of the brasserie is charming, and the food was excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Excellent. Great meal, great atmosphere, great price. Staff friendly and attentive. Restaurant is comfortable and located close to the centre of the city. Food was exceptional, that lamb shoulder was the best we've ever eaten. We had a three course meal that was very reasonably priced. We'd definitely eat here again and looking forward to the next time we do.

Our best meal so far in Ireland. We had the Sea Bass and Grilled Hake we loved both dishes. The goat cheese appetizer was good and the sticky toffee cake was amazing and a must have. Great atmosphere but busy so make a reservation or arrive early to get a table.

Exceptional food & beverages. Going from water to wine to cocktails, high level creations from the mixologists. Food was presented & prepared in fashion and style. Manager floating was constantly present in bar and restaurant. Staff were pleasant to see and looked happy which was nice to hear. Staff were very attentive, constantly on their toes. Food prepared was in perfect condition and in quick fashion. Bartenders knew everything they sold behind the bar and even thought me a thing or two. Place was absolutely amazing coming from the polished glassware to the happy staff working. Highly recommend, will visit again.

Fine dining restaurant
If you're a food lover, then you need to visit Bastion - the Michelin-starred restaurant in the most popular town in rural Cork. The menu is concise but varied, and there's something for everyone on it. The setting is casual but refined, and the service attentive but not overbearing.
We choose this restaurant for our 30th anniversary. It was one of my top 3 dinner experience, ever. The wine menu was extensive and superb. Staff is so pleasant and friendly. Highly recommended. Enjoy

Lovely night out and great food. We cannot fault any of the dishes. Great service.

Impeccable service & food! Probably the best food yet I’ve eaten this year - highlighting Irish ingredients (with the staff helping explain more info on the ingredients if you’re curious). If one is in the Cork County area, this is a place worth going out of your way to visit. On top, the service was impeccable. Servers were so accommodating, knowledgeable, and friendly - conversing with you like a friend visiting from out of town! Cannot emphasize this enough, but Bastion truly is a gem worth visiting!

Superlative. Chef Paul, and restauranteur/sommelier/hostess Helen, have cultured a pearl in the heart of Kinsale. My wife and I experienced the artistry of the tasting menu and a flight of fine wine assembled exclusively for the revelatory enjoyment of their diners. Fresh, local, ingredients and global wines come together immaculately to take you on a journey through seafood, game, and the land. The highlight above all, in my opinion, was the clearly refined rabbit dish packed with umami and gamey goodness, and not overpowered by a delicately chosen red (that I won't spoil). The pricing is as expected for European fine dining at a one Michelin star restaurant. Altogether we paid less than €500 for two, including the wine pairing. This is exceptionally reasonable for the quality and service. This is a restaurant on the course for another star should the service tighten appropriately. Helen's warmth is not diluted by her knowledge and confident style, which is a hard act to pull off. There is just a gap between one and two stars in terms of service expectation, but in my opinion the propriety and Scots-Irish charm of Bastion is closing the gap at pace. Chef Paul treads the fine line of innovative gastronomy and "reliably appetising food" with circumspect judgement. He has honed dishes which challenge taste and texture while pleasing the eye, nose, and mouth like the best of mammy's home-cooked fayre. Bravo!

Phenomenal experience. Delicious food, well balanced and presented beautifully - every dish was as good or better than the one before. Wine pairing one of the best I’ve ever had. Staff were wonderful and made the whole experience a pleasure. Can’t wait to dine again in the future.

We had a great experience here and the restaurant is well deserved of its 1 star Michelin. The service was very professional, helpful and friendly. The setting is clean, comfortable and fairly formal. The food was a lovely combination of Irish foods from the sea and land and cooked and prepared delicately.

An absolutely wonderful restaurant. I went to Bastion for dinner this past Saturday evening and cannot praise it highly enough. The space is intimate and comfortable, appropriately elegant for a Michelin-starred restaurant without feeling overly formal. We shared the space with 5 other tables who all sat at 7pm, and we were all served the tasting menu at the same time, making for a nice communal experience. Each dish was artful, full of complex flavour, perfectly balanced. We also opted for the wine pairing and would highly recommend it. The meal was an adventure, with each dish and wine explained to us with great care. A special mention must be made of the proprietors, who took such care to treat each customer like their guest. Helen's knowledge and enthusiasm for wine was infectious, and Paul's friendly presence outside the kitchen to explain his beautiful dishes was a very nice touch. Both owners really made the evening, particularly Helen very kindly offering an extra bit of dessert with a candle for my birthday! They are genuinely warm, friendly people who have a very clear passion for what they do. An incredible restaurant experience all round, and certainly not to missed.

What an incredible experience we had on Saturday night! Everything about it was just perfect. The food was absolutely exceptional! We ended up going for the wine pairing, which I would highly recommend. It really takes everything to the next level. The attention to detail was unbelievable and the staff were incredibly kind, welcoming and attentive. I would highly recommend if you're looking for something to remember 🙂

Where better to push the boat out than Kinsale. We enjoyed an amazing tasting menu experience in Bastion in January. Sometimes a tasting menu can be challenging. This was not. Instead we experienced a succession of tasty extremely well executed dishes. The Cod with Champagne cream sauce and Duck dishes were standouts. The prawn ceviche with buttermilk and apple pearls was one of the most amazing things I've eaten in my life.

We had the discovery tasting menu and wine paring. The evening was amazing with wonderful flavours and textures. Everything was perfect from the mini brioche with treacle butter to the pettifores. The cured langoustine and the rabbit loin were my favourites. We enjoyed everything including the staff with their friendly interaction and detailed description of the wines and foods. Thank you Hellen and Paul.

What can I say but sublime. Nestled in the heart of Kinsale, Bastion was one of the last places I had to tick off the Michelin list and by god did it deliver. The wine list was excellent and the food and service sublime. Attentive but not overwhelming. The food, well sourced and wonderfully prepared truly an excellent display of localized contemporary food presented impeccably. Wholeheartedly recommended to anyone nearby - or even further afield. This restaurant will not disappoint in truly displaying the wealth of culinary talent and produce access that Cork has available to it.

Incredible. Our fourth time at this amazing restaurant and still love it as much. We had the tasting menu tonight. Superb. Not too much and great timing between courses. Helen and her team are still at the top of their game. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

We recently moved to Kinsale and were excited to try Bastion. My wife and I travel a lot and love fine dining. The food at Bastion rivals or exceeds the 3 star Michelin restaurants we have been do. From the moment we walked in with a personal greeting down to the moment we left with a warm farewell the food and experience was top notch. We opted for the chef selected wine pairing with the tasting menu (which I understand changes frequently). Every dish we had paired perfectly with the wine and we were able to taste the subtle flavors in all of the dishes. Bastion is the best fine dining restaurant in Kinsale and I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a special date night or a great night out with friends and family. It's absolutely worth every euro and the whole experience is very refined. We will be back with family and friends.

Nature & Parks
The Brigit's Garden botanical garden is a well-known attraction in the area with its 11 acres of woodlands and meadows, as well as eleven themed gardens, each surrounding a different Celtic festival. There are nature trails through the gardens which allow visitors to learn about the Celtic seasonal cycle. The café serves delicious food and drinks, perfect for a break before exploring further in the area.
It's a fantastic place! What a gem. We enjoyed the exploring most of all. So many little things to discover. The lady at the entrance is really good with children too. Unfortunately didn't have time to enjoy a drink and bite but it looked really good.

We had a fantastic time here! It was beautiful and enriched in old Irish/Celtic history. I especially loved the Celtic wheel of the year gardens. I also recommend it for a family outing, our 2.5 year old had the best time on the playground. The staff where so friendly and genuine. Also the food was really nice + the coffee wasn’t bad either. Would definitely recommend.

A beautiful place to visit for people of all ages. So much to explore and learn about - nature, Celtic celebrations, gardening, and traditional crafts and buildings. The cafe is excellent - fresh and delicious. The gift shop is great too. Well worth a visit!

I cannot put into words how amazing these gardens are and have so much to offer for all ages. We had our wedding here on 14/10/21 and it was the most magical day. The staff so welcoming and went above and beyond to make the day so special. The food is always delicious, it has to be my favorite lunch spot! Support local by supporting this hidden gem!

What fantastic place to visit. A lovely trail walk around the different gardens . They have a coffee shop there. I love the eco houses they have built. Lots of different things to see and explore.

It is a beautiful place to go, especially if you have a deep connection to Celtic traditions and Brigit. The garden is a pure joy. The food in the Café was excellent and abundant and the staff was super friendly and kind. Do not miss the Magic fairy herbal tea! I also rented the Round house for a workshop. It is a lovely spot to do that. I was very happy with the service. The shop is full of beautiful treasures to buy.

I visited Brigit’s Garden with my family and our dog (on leash). We had a wonderful visit followed by a delicious vegetarian lunch; aubergine dish and cannellini beans dish were just amazing, so fresh and full of flavour.

Great place to visit. We booked online but you can pay on entrance either. Lovely gift shop and cafe as you enter. The cafe has lots of lovely meals all freshly prepared on site. They were operating outdoor dining when we visited so no need for DCVC. Lots of options to sit outside and plenty of covered tables should the weather turn. The garden itself is excellent with lots of interesting information and well developed exhibits. The sundial itself is worth the entrance fee. You can walk around at your leisure and visit the various areas. We were there for over two hours and had a lovely time. There is a playground for smaller children which has picnic tables should you wish to bring your own food. The toilets are clean and well maintained and the staff are friendly and helpful. Absolutely excellent day out for families or anyone interested in nature.

Went with my 2 kids 2 +7 on holiday. The staff are lovely and we started with hot chocolate and fresh out the oven scones in the cafe very yummy. The garden itself was beautiful and the design was great. Loved learning about the Celtic Callander and history. It then goes beyond through Medows and woods and my kids loved exploring it all. The wild flowers were just stunning

Delicious food and coffees in a very celtic local atmosphere. Cafe us absolutely wonderful, with a nature feel, and very family friendly. Garden walk is simply superb and both well organised and very nature and history educational. A gem of a place and a must visit!

A cold winters stroll around Brigit’s garden wasn’t disappointing. Our 6 year old thoroughly enjoyed the treasure hunt especially because the resident Mr. Robin was following him around as per Santas orders! There’s so much to see and do for all ages, woodland & wildflower meadows, sun trail, an ancient ring fort, nature trail, thatched roundhouse, crannóg, and the calendar sundial which is quite impressive! We didn’t eat at the cafe but the atmosphere indoors after being out in the cold air was comforting and smelt delicious! The gift shop is well stocked with a variety of gifts and toys for all ages and reasonably priced. Staff were amazing and the toilet facilities were spotless.

The café is wonderful! Everything looks amazing and my choice of a ham hock sandwich with salad & homemade crisps with a cup of soup was delicious. My friend who is coeliac finds it frustrating that there's normally very little she can eat off most menus. In this case over half of what was on offer was suitable. Happy days! She said the bread was the best gluten free bread she'd had. The staff are so lovely and friendly the cleanliness was top class, the surroundings are sublime. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Modern European restaurant
The Greenhouse is a trendy Dublin restaurant that has gained a Michelin star for its innovative contemporary Irish cuisine. The restaurant is decorated in an opulent style and the food is excellent, with dishes such as scallop ceviche and seabass with Luberon asparagus. The restaurant also offers good value considering the level of expertise that accompanies these dishes.
Everyone should go at least once time to meet! I loved the place, a little small but very well organized and clean! The service was excellent at all times, polite staff and always explained each dish, and also asked if everything was ok before removing the dish from the table, asked if we like the dish. About the meal I loved every detail, the mix and match of flavors was wonderful! I tried new things and also what I already knew I saw in a new way. It is very worth going and know and taste these dishes of wonderful quality.

We had a great time at dinner here. The food was fabulous and the wine waiting quite classic but with a few twists and going well with the food. As other reviews mention, come here to enjoy your evening, not if you have plans afterwards. Service can be slightly slow, but we didn’t mind as it allowed us to have a break between courses and have a nice chat. Our table was very much divided on which dish we preferred which speaks to the quality of the dishes throughout the evening. I would definitely recommend a visit!

Clean and modern restaurant. Had the 4 course meal with a party of 5. Fantastic food and enjoyed all of it. There was a slight muckup when they served a vegetarian cavier and someone that doesn't take beef, tartar. We did inform them before ordering, but i believe it didn't get passed to all the staff that was serving us. However they quickly sorted it out and the rest of the dinner was a delight. The staff were very friendly and I would love to come back. I am not usually a fan of foie gras, but their version was fantastic. Loved it, so creamy and full of flavour and balanced. Their lamb dish as well was very different, where we got lamb as well as brioche bread filled with lamb. It was very different having an additional bread piece to soak up the juices and sauce. Their chocolate dessert is probably the best dessert is probably the best I have ever had, and will be forever disappointed in future desserts that I eat.

Food was quite good. Tasting menu of 6 courses (115€) was very good, there was one course that missed the mark for me but otherwise the presentation and taste was exceptional. Oddly enough the real standout dishes for me were game and red meat, rather than the seafood which the menu clearly made a point of presenting. Overall though a great meal. The staff were extremely friendly and pleasant, we had an earlier reservation so the place certainly wasn’t off the walls busy but by the time we left it was certainly starting to pickup. As a final note I will say I think the presentation on these dishes is some of the best in Ireland, and there is a fantastic wine list.

My wife and I dined at The Greenhouse for a special occasion. Each and every aspect of our experience was perfect. We opted for the larger, six course tasting menu, and every dish was outstanding. The food was elegantly presented and absolutely delicious. The service was top notch as well. If you have one night to have dinner in Dublin, this is the place to go!
Evan Anderson — Google review
Great fine food. Everything was prepared skillfully, with beautiful presentation. The pacing was almost perfect, with only a long wait before the meat. Service was impeccable, but it was too formal for my taste; it's hard to relax when the staff is stiff.
Javier Kohen — Google review
Food wise it is average, though beautifully presented, the taste is not impressive. Foie gras too salty albeit they covered it with sour apple jam. Main was plain and dessert the tart base was too hard. If for the taste I only give it three stars. Add one star for the service. Not a place I will consider visit again or recommend.
Xihui C. — Google review
Was expecting to be blown away but really wasn't. As it is two Michelin starred I was expecting great things but this would not have two stars if it was in London. Several of the dishes were confused with flavour and texture and didn't work well. There are two set menu options and we went for the larger menu with wine pairing - at over €600 it was eye wateringly expensive. I have no problem paying a lot of money for incredible food but this didn't feel good value for money. There were some stand dishes including the turbot gnocchi that came as a side with the turbot dish. The space doesn't have a lot of atmosphere as the room is split into several different levels and spaces so we could hear other diners but couldn't see them. Wouldn't say it is worth the money for the experience you get
