Shopping mall
Sights & Landmarks
The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II is a five-storey mall in Milan, Italy, which houses luxury clothing brands and upscale dining. The luxurious architecture and historic context of the building reflects the country's newly-acquired self-confidence after years of political and social turmoil during the chaotic era of Italian unification.
The Gallerias are definitely a must see. Even if just for a quick window shopping session and a picture in the middle (literally everyone has their phone out). All the shops are high end but there are a couple of nice ice cream shops. It’s right next to the Duomo so head on over after and walk around. Highly recommend to visit

Definitely a beautiful spot to take pictures and visit some luxury stores. It's honestly a lot smaller than I thought it would be. It's just a walk through outdoor mall with a select number of stores and a few restaurants. Nice to walk through for a few minutes. Visit earlier in the morning if you want to get pictures without anyone in them!
Tracy Sung — Google review
Absolutely beautiful! Every store window makes you want to go in and shop! The architecture and overall beauty is breathtaking! We walked in and out of every section and were in awe with the magnificent structure. The amount of people was crazy! We happened to be there during fashion week and there were models dressed and taking photos everywhere! If you go to Milan you have to go to the Galleria!!!
Pat B — Google review
The architecture is simply stunning and so beautiful. There are restaurants, clothing stores and much more. The place is very nice to take a picturesque view. Fashion starts from here so it is a must to see when in Milan
Usman Khan — Google review
Not sure how to describe this place correctly. Shopping center with the most famous brands. Most people visit it just to take a look and make a photo. It makes sense to visit just to close point "to see the most famous shopping gallery in Europe". In general, nothing special. Nice stationary shop with a some unique souvenirs.
Mykola Kurus — Google review
A must visit if you are traveling to Milan. The high glass ceilings give the feeling of grandness unlike any other shopping complex. A magnificent structure with great restaurants and posh shops.
Kushal Jain — Google review
Truly an amazing building! Even if you're not into expensive brands or shopping, I'd still really recommend visiting here. It's incredibly beautifully decorated from the walls to the ceiling (:
Njal Armin — Google review
I arrived in the evening that every store already all closed, but the galleria still amazing to visit and take photos. So beautifully and artistically designed! Enjoyed window shopping as well as each store has nice display though it’s closed. A must visit spot while in Milan!
Judy Hung — Google review
Had an amazing dinner at Galleria, so good didn't even wait to start eating to take pictue. Did some window shopping didn't have long enough visit planned. Next time we have a better idea where ti spend the bulk of our time in Italy.

Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II is a masterpiece of architecture and shopping in Milan, Italy! Its stunning glass and iron structure create a breathtaking ambiance. Strolling through the gallery's luxurious boutiques, cafes, and restaurants is an elegant experience. The intricate mosaic floors are a visual treat, and the magnificent glass dome allows natural light to flood the space. It's a perfect blend of history and modernity, offering an unforgettable shopping and cultural journey. A must-visit destination for anyone exploring Milan's beauty and charm! ✨🛍️🍝
Hubert Lamenta — Google review
What a remarkably beautiful place – inside and out! Magnificent. An exquisite demonstration of unparalleled artistry and skill. The architecture, the murals and pretty much everything else. The attention to detail is simply wow-inspiring. Full of elegant shops and upscale dining establishments, the Galleria creates an ambiance of beauty while maintaining a luxurious price range. Standing in the middle and gazing up at the mesmerizing murals, each one depicting a different continent, is the pinnacle of this experience. Great vibes.
Jallouf Kim — Google review
The building itself is gorgeous and mesmerizing. We had a good time walking around. It’s also fun to look around the luxury stores but other than that there isn’t much to do or look at. It’s also extremely crowded to the point that it gets difficult to walk.
Batu Eroglu — Google review
This place screams of Luxury! Literally littered with the most expensive brands in the world. Crowded with locals and tourists alike, best visited early in the morning. Don't forget to step on the Bull's balls and spin 3 times for luck!
Gabby Mariano — Google review
Our family recently explored the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, and the experience was nothing short of stunning. The architecture of the Galleria is awe-inspiring, with its elegant design and intricate detailing. Walking through the historic passageways, we felt transported to a bygone era of grandeur and sophistication. The kids were fascinated by the intricate mosaics, high glass ceilings, and the general sense of opulence that permeated the surroundings. However, for a family on a budget, the allure of the luxury shops and designer boutiques was bittersweet. While window shopping was enjoyable, the reality was that most of the items on display were way beyond our financial reach. It's essential for families to be aware that this is more of an experience destination than a budget-friendly shopping spot. On a positive note, the atmosphere was vibrant, and the Galleria is not just about shopping. We took a moment to enjoy a coffee in one of the historic cafes, soaking in the ambiance and people-watching, which added a pleasant touch to our visit. In summary, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II is a must-visit for its architectural marvel and historical significance. Families should approach it with the understanding that the shopping experience might be more aspirational than practical, but the overall ambiance and cultural richness make it a worthwhile stop, even if you're not planning to splurge on designer goods.

The Sforzesco Castle is a magnificent medieval-Renaissance fortress with multiple museums and art collections. It was originally built as a fortress by the Visconti dynasty, and later became home to the powerful Sforza dynasty. The castle's defences were designed by the multitalented da Vinci, who is also credited with designing other famous structures like the Mona Lisa.
Amazing place, wonderful historical experience! There are three different museums in the place, all three dealing with history. Simply amazing, one is an ancient art museum that includes paintings and photos from different periods going back several years. The second is ancient objects, furniture, moving accessories and more, the third is the museum of ancient musical instruments. One ticket costs five euros and allows entry to the three museums. I really enjoyed it. You must visit there! There was no line at the entrance and there was no need to purchase a ticket in advance.
Ortal Shushan — Google review
Building itself is visually interesting, but not original. However, there are several rather nice museums inside. I spent there about three interesting hours for 5 Eur, which is very good value. The biggest exhibit is one of the last Michelangelo statues, which is housed in its own exposition, but there is way more to see in the castle. Definitely recommended if you have some time to spent while visiting Milano.
Dusan Bolek — Google review
The entrance to the castle itself is free, but to get to the museums you need a ticket which is 5€ full price and lets you visit all of the museums. They even have lockers which let you travel around the castle and the museum without carrying anything. Everything is nice and well kept, there are benches everywhere and the staff, even with their limited English, were trying to help as much as they could. The whole castle is too big to walk on one day, so we prioritized the things we went there for. If you want to visit everything, you should visit at least twice.

Absolutely gorgeous place! It's 100% worth it just for the outside parts. The complex is big, and the adjoining park offers a great relaxing spot and various drinks and foods to refresh you. Totally stunning for everyone, not just those interested in history! Also there are free toilets.
Kristýna Vacardová — Google review
Beautiful castle. You can enjoy the great gathering here. The fountain is eye-catching. Lovely parko area. You can have a good weekend afternoon here as well as everyday anytime. Only if you want to visit the Museum you need a ticket. Otherwise the whole area is a public access of free
Abdul Awal Chowdhury Masud (Masud Chy.) — Google review
A very nice castle and museum. There are many rooms, everybody will find something to like. You need to count with exhibition which takes at least 3 hours so if you hurry, you should check only items you are interested in. There is also a beautiful view from the top. If you take a bag with you, you can store it in a locker located downstairs (1 euro deposit - will be returned after you input the key back). After exhibition you can find a good place for rest outside. This place is also magical in the evening.
Luk?? Struhal — Google review
This place is so stunning. I sat within the castle walls listening to live music from a stage that had been set up while sketching a picture. Truly a wonderful experience. Not going inside and instead walking around some of the most beautiful architecture I have ever seen will be free and well worth your time. There are also free toilets and a water refill on site which is a bonus.
Ellen — Google review
Definitely the largest intact castle I have been to, the distance from moat to first scalable wall must be 40m, and an attacker would face an array of arrows and spears before they even navigated a ladder into position. That said, pay the 5€ for the entrance and the extra for the headset so you can learn about some of the more interesting paintings, tables and artifacts. (Stupidly, the put the headphone lady BEFORE the ticket purchase, so you have to circle back!) I never made it up the tower, but I can only imagine those views!
Mr Groovy — Google review
Very beautiful castle with a garden in the middle, we visited on a sunday and it wasn't busy at all. The castle is well maintained. There are no restaurants or shops inside the castle other than the info point, but there is a big garden outside the castle, I'll attach a pic of it. It is definitely a must visit place if you are in Milan.
Waad Jz — Google review
Visited this castle whilst in Milan. It is in a great central location. It is free to enter and walk into, but if you want to walk around the inside of the castle and see the exhibits then that is €5 or you can get a student ticket. You are not allowed to take large bags around the exhibits either and cannot take videos, only pictures. This is nice to look around and you can also pay for a translator earpiece it you want to listen to the history. There are some people trying to sell you roses and bracelets etc on the inside so be aware of them
Connor Downs — Google review
Beautiful castle with so many things to explore in and around it! You can pay extra to visit the museum where you can see some of the furniture music instruments, paintings and more. Alternatively, you can enjoy the park near the castle or appreciate the castle from the outside for free.
B K — Google review
Very cool place to walk around. We didn’t go in any of the museums because we didn’t have too long but you could easily spend a whole day here! Otherwise it is free to walk around. On Saturdays there is a huge market on the outskirts of the castle with bags, food, mulled wine, lots of trinkets, cooking items etc! Highly recommend.

Sforzesco Castle is a truly breathtaking sight in the heart of Milan. Steeped in history and surrounded by beautiful grounds, this magnificent castle is a must-visit for anyone exploring the city. From the impressive architecture to the fascinating museums housed within its walls, there is so much to see and do here. The views from the top of the castle are simply stunning, offering a unique perspective of Milan. I highly recommend a visit to Sforzesco Castle - you won't be disappointed!
Jordan Kniaziew — Google review
It's a castle with 6 museums inside it, all accessible for 3 euros (for students) or 5 euros. If you don't wanna go inside the museums, you can still check the place out, the fountain in front of it, and the big beautiful installations outside. However if you got time, the museus are really worth the visit. There is a Michelangelo sculpture, ancient arts and weapons, the musical instruments museum, an Egyptian museum, and a few others to check. The bad thing is that most of the exhibitions only have texts in Italian, no translation for English.
Ana Beatriz Santos Honda — Google review
Lovely castle to walk around or chill at. I personally loved the garden in the middle of the castle where you could sit out in the shade and enjoy the surrounding views. The museums have mazing pieces. There were some real surprising pieces of art. I paid 2 or 3 euros to get into all 14 unique parts of the castle. There's art varying from paintings to furniture to cloths and musical instruments. Definitely would recommend anyone to spend a few hours here.
Esmee — Google review
This castle is one of the most, if not the most, impressive and beautiful fortresses / castles I've been in. A real must seen! The size, built ornaments, towers, walls, ditch - all are great sights. And there are multiple museums inside... With the triumfh arch and beautiful garden near by, this can fill half a day of great sight seeing.
erez melamed — Google review
An amazing place, it's €5 to gain entry which I recommend. However just having a wander through the massive courtyards and taking in the picturesque building and surroundings is definitely worth the visit. It links the park and the way towards Duomo. Spectacular place.
diane Thompson — Google review
Amazing architecture! I spent less than an hour walking around and inside the walls but not inside the buildings because my shoes weren’t comfortable . But I’d recommend to spend more time tho because it’s really big and there is lots of places to see and walk in, out and around! It’s totally worth visiting if you are into architecture and history, just go prepared to walk a lot.

Sforzesco Castle is a must visit when in Milano. The castle and park is free, and enjoyable any time of the year. Viewing the castle is breath-taking and be sure to pay attention to the remaining piece of the Milanese wall. During warmer months you can be lucky to spot turtles in the water, and keep an eye out for cats in the grassy moat. Bring lunch or a snack to relax in the green and forget the busy city for a moment.
Anita A. Simonsen — Google review
Very nice medieval fortification that houses several of the city's museums & art collections. For the ticket price of only 6 euro you get the access to the entire complex, and it's totally worth it. We spent nearly 3 hours on this cultural & history learning experience and we didn't even see a half of the exhibition rooms. We'll definitely come back here on our next visit to Milan.
Kolacic Ivy — Google review
Fascinating, bums everywhere trying to dupe you into monetary gifts, just ignore them. The gardens and grounds are nice to walk through. Don’t eat the craft schnitzel…it’s low grade Vienna sausages.
Arthur Franz — Google review
Large and historic castle in the centre of Milan. Well worth a visit and to experience the museum. In particular, the amazing collection of historic musical instruments are one of a kind, as you can see the evolution of modern day instruments (as per the pics).
Russell Gilbert — Google review
Absolutely beautiful architecture, looks stunning in the nighttime when lit up. Was filled with lots of historical artifacts and artwork, it’s a very well kept and the castle is in very good condition. Very historic with lots to see and do. It has a very nice museum. I would definitely recommend checking it out if you’re visiting Milan.

Sforzesco Castle is absolutely gorgeous, oh my god, while visiting you can somehow see and feel how ages full of history are hosted by the amazing and strong walls. It's like a portal, you have to see it. Chill atmosphere, i was at the beginning of the week, people where enjoying the place, some tourists but not overly crowded. Come here in the working days in the morning and you'll feel like you got the whole place for yourself . A nice bonus are some cats that are really cute 😍

The Pinacoteca di Brera is an art gallery located in Milan, Italy. It showcases a variety of paintings from the Middle Ages to the Romantic period and is one of the best galleries in Italy. Highlights of the collection include works by such Italian painters as Raphael, Tintoretto, Veronese, and Caravaggio.
For art lovers the best place to visit in Milano. Not particularly big, but nice collection of visual art mostly from Renaissance era. Very nice Caravaggio is probably the biggest highlight of the museum, but far from being the only interesting thing in the museum. Highly recommended. Crowds reasonable, but tickets need to be reserved in advance.
Dusan Bolek — Google review
The museum is worth a visit if you are into art. A lot of it is religiously themed however so take that into consideration. The building itself is very beautiful and nice to look around in. The upper floor is the museum consisting of around 32 rooms and the lower floor has facilities related to the art school. We spent around 2 hours in there although we did walk through the later part a bit quicker due to needing to be at the next museum in time.
Pascal Visscher — Google review
Beautiful museum, the best i’ve been to in Milan! The courtyard is free entry, if you just want to have a look at the building and some of the statues, but there are many gorgeous art pieces to see inside. When we went, there were also 2 artists inside that were singing, which added to the overall great experience. Definitely worth a visit!
Alex Iacobita — Google review
Beautiful place full of amazing paints and some sculptures, they show you the restoring process of some of the art. We where as a family (minors don’t pay + 2 adults x 11€ each). There’s a QR at the entrance to a chronological map of the museum. The Caravaggio is amazing but i personally preferred the Rubens “the last supper”. You can ask for a drawing kit at recepción to sketch though the museum, there’s also some drawing places to be inspired by the art in front of you and some paints have “fun facts” or so. If you an art lover, you must come.

I fell in love with this pinacoteca. There are lots of magnificant paintings of various styles, yet dominantly of Renaissance art. It may take 2 hours to finish the tour; however, it depends on how long one takes to admire the beauty of art.

I was not in a gallery (will follow up on this next time), but even being outside is giving a flavour od this sanctuary of arts. Worth seeing even during a quick city walk as I did. Will be back for sure.

Amazing experience. The public gallery in a beautiful classical building. Great exposition and collection of the painting. The paintings were mostly religious themed. We bought tickets online, and entrance was without waiting.

Step into a world of art at Pinacoteca di Brera. The paintings tell amazing stories, and the calm atmosphere makes it easy to enjoy each one. Whether you're an art lover or just curious, it's a great place to explore and appreciate beautiful Italian art.

Definitely my top 3 in Milan! A must go museum if you are a renaissance fan!
Cloudia C. — Google review
Costs 15 eur per person. We booked in advance. The gallery is full of Middle Ages Christian paintings. It's easy to navigate.
Povilas Godliauskas — Google review
Great, but not extensive, collection of paintings on the walls of Brera's palace. A walk from the Middle Age 'frescos' to the nineteenth century. Most of them are religious subjects because they were collected from the churches, including works of masters as Caravaggio, Tintoretto, Bellini brothers, and Mantegna. Remarkable is the Hayez's work The Kiss, for his sensitive as well for the patriotism in the times of the war of independence.

The Monumental Cemetery in Milan is a large graveyard filled with sculptures and monuments by famous artists and architects. It is known for its varied styles, which date back to the 19th century. There is a Studio BBPR memorial to WWII concentration camp victims in the center of the cemetery, as well as separate sections for Catholics, Jews, and non-Catholics.
I liked it very much. I never imagined that in a cemetery I would be able to admire so many works of art. Such a soothing place, huge and full of history, is worth a visit. There is even a map for visiting the famous tombs.
Alexandra Dohotari — Google review
A truly wonderful place that is 30 minutes north of Duomo Cathedral and is a pleasant escape from the busy city centre. Filled with stunning religious tombs, monuments and mausoleums, you can spend hours walking through the cemetery. I really recommend this place if you are visiting Milan and remember to bring water when the weather is hot. Plenty of shaded areas too which is nice.

I don't know why I liked this place so much, but it was very peaceful to walk around the cemetery looking at all the amazing graves and monuments. It felt almost like an art gallery more than a cemetery. Worth a visit when you are in Milan.
Robert Dahlstr?m — Google review
Visited this site September 2022. Visited the cemetery only after a fantastic tour--English Free Tour Milan sponsored by CITYWALKERS--with Marco, who brought this to our tour group's attention. His recommendation was, "If you really like architecture and sculpture...." and I knew I was adding a visit to my priorities. I spent the entire afternoon walking around, up and down rows and rows of mausoleums and monuments that were utterly stunning and beautiful. One can run around and test one's own knowledge of architectural periods, from Classical to Byzantine to Gothic to Baroque, etc. I highly recommend a visit for lovers of sculpture and architecture geeks. Make a visit to Cimitero Monumentale as high a priority as a visit to the Duomo.

This red-brick cathedral, founded by Saint Ambrose in 379 A.D., is one of Lombard Romanesque's most beautiful and atmospheric churches. The simple exterior belies the intricate mosaics, ornate altarpiece, and sumptuous interior that make it a must-see for visitors to Milan. Saint Ambrose is buried in the crypt, and his legacy of building uplifting churches continues to inspire pilgrims today.
A historical place and beautiful architecture. The work on this iconic place is totally amazin. Intricate stone work. Coukd not take my eyes of the size. The cathedral took nearly six centuries to complete: construction began in 1386, and the final details were completed in 1965. Milan's layout, with streets either radiating from the Duomo or circling it, reveals that the Duomo occupies what was the most central site in Roman Mediolanum, that of the public basilica facing the forum. The first cathedral, the "new basilica" (basilica nova) dedicated to St Thecla, was completed by 355. It seems to share, on a slightly smaller scale, the plan of the contemporaneous church recently rediscovered beneath Tower Hill in London.[5]

Fine dining restaurant
Cracco is an upscale restaurant in Milan owned by acclaimed celebrity chef Carlo Cracco. Known for his innovative take on traditional Milanese cuisine, Cracco's 2 Michelin Star establishment offers a chic dining experience in a modern and elegant setting. The restaurant features refined decor with minimal lines and cherry wood panelled walls. Guests can enjoy classic Italian dishes from Milan reinterpreted with a contemporary twist.
Two of us dined at the beautiful gastronomic restaurant upstairs. The kitchen staff prepared an eleven courses vegan tasting menu for myself as a special request. Quality ingredients skillfuly exalted by delicate flavours, elegant contrasts and unique presentations. Accurate wine pairing. It's definitely an experience worth waiting for. Classic Milanese with a modern twist. The service has room for improvement (since the booking confirmation weeks earlier until the moment when we sat at our table they kept assuming that my girlfriend was the vegan person instead of me. They consequently mismatched the fist course too but quickly reverted). Unusually informal service compared to other restaurants of similar level - and it's definitely a positive note - ideally breaking walls between haute cuisine and the public. Overall well deserved five stars. We will definitely come back. Chef Cracco passed by our table several times and we had the chance to comment the dinner for a few minutes with him, just enough to realise how fame and popularity did not touch his humbleness and work ethic (with outstanding results). Grazie!

Fantastic! Is by far the best restaurant I have ever visited. The food is not just beautiful but also very well done, tasty and creative. There are many dishes that you should try! If you can, call before to reserve a table

Nice staff, they didn’t think I could afford the place and asked me to check the menu before entering. With a flood of tourists not paying attention I thought that was not a bad move. Besides the fact I turned out to be the main course for the mosquitoes, 12 bites in all, the food was ok. My main criticism would be: the soft egg should come with more spice, there was a tiny bit of salt in one part. Bread was dried out and should come with oil and above all: warm your plates! Food is cold in places before it is even served. Tagliatelle was very good but half of it was cold. Desert was excellent. Overall good experience but completely overpriced.

Downstairs one can eat from a Michelin starred chef without the formality of the proper Michelin restaurant. Food is amazing and not too complicated like some high end restaurants tend to do at certain levels. Location is as good as it gets in Milan. Highly recommended for lunch.

Amazing location but they should train their waiters to be more polite. We were about to order food when the waiter already wanted to take away our glasses that were still half full. Who wants to eat in a place with this kind of service?

We had a lovely lunch here and despite the hype, the risotto Milanese really is the stuff of dreams. Interestingly, I had tried to make reservations here but was not able to. On a lark, we walked in and were immediately seated. The food was very good and satisfying and, as stated above, the saffron risotto is really the star here. We also tried the Cotoletta which delivered. A wonderful wine selection and astute service capped off the experience. My husband travels regularly to Milan for work and every time he goes, I tell him to bring me some of that risotto back. So far he has not, but I will not stop asking. It's that good.

Food's amazing. Very very long wine list. Atmosphere and service are a bit cold - typical of great restaurants but less my style.

The place is amazing, right in the Cracco is definitely a special dining experience! The ambiance inside the Galleria is stunning, and the food is creative and full of amazing flavors. The service could use some improvement, but it's still quite good. The best part about Cracco is that it's more than just a restaurant - it's also a bistro and pastry shop, open all day long, with separate event spaces. It's the perfect place to grab a bite to eat or relax with some dessert. Overall, I'd say it's a top-notch culinary experience. 👌

Amazing location near Duomo. Prices are high, but it is worth it to sit near brand shops and drink coffee. Iced cappuccino is the worst i have tried ever. Aperol spritz is awesome. Service is very low quality, staff is not smiling , they are a bit rude.

The place was very crowded. We ordered two coffees with a custard croissant and an 'Italian breakfast'. We picked a pistachio croissant included in our Italian breakfast which has never arrived. After 45 minutes we asked the waiter who said 'the chef just let me know that we ran out pistachio filling'. We then needed to go and get the pastry at the counter taking it to the table ourselves. We asked repeatedly for water. The food was good but not worth the troubles. There are plenty of good patisseries in Milan where we received far better treatment.

It was a shame that lobster dishes were not ordered. But the other menus that were replaced were delicious. The staff were very professional and I was very satisfied with the contents.

It is a joke my spaghetti a le vongole came w 5 small clams. I think this has to be the first time I was ever served this plate w 5 clams plus 2 loose clams. Hope the kitchen will correct soon. The crudi starter was excellent also the portion is tiny for the price of 40€. Fritto mixto was very good. Anyway, they have a good kitchen. The price is definitely inflation high. Btw, they need a different salt mill and toilet needs a facelift.

Everyone raves about this place, but I must say I found the food underwhelming. What you’re really paying for is the impeccable service and upscale ambience. I had high hopes for the red prawn tartare with mandarin sorbet, but the sorbet was too sweet and overpowered the delicate flavor of the raw shellfish (already naturally sweet). The linguine with lobster, while fresh, was also a bit monotonous. Not all was lost, however! My server recommended a Piedmontese chardonnay that tasted like a Meursault — the real discovery of the evening for me.

Good atmosphere, but the food was disappointing. We had the catch of the day. A fish plate that was honestly not worth the €120 price tag. The wine was good. Wouldn’t go there again to be honest.

Incredible service (we shared many plates and servers split it in advance perfectly). The food (especially the pasta dishes such as the seafood gnochetti) was amazing.

The lobster linguine was too al Dante / undercooked. Almost tasted raw, not sure if it’s meant to be like that. The turbot fish was rather pricey, €180 for one fish (1.5kg with bones + head) which was shared with 3 ppl ie €60 per person for the fish dish. It was good for sure but not sure if it’s worth the price. Service was good, all staff were friendly.

Fantastic place. Fresh food, amazingly prepared. Great variety of wines. Dessert trolley absolutely wonderful. Always going back whenever passing through the city: consistency over time is what we like best about Da Giacomo.

We didn’t even have dessert and here is why : I started coming to this restaurant almost 20 years ago every time I was in town for work. It was AMAZING every time, I even saw David Beckham here once when he was playing for AC Milan. I recognized all the waiters and the DAD was always cutting up their signature pizza hors-d'oeuvres. Today I came back after 5 years. The menu has changed and the food was…. Very disappointing. The pizza was dry and stale. The gnocchi that the waiter recommended was OVERCOOKED, my friend’s lobster linguini was UNDERCOOKED. EVERYTHING was too salty!!!!!!! They get one star because the raw seafood platter was good and the service was still very good.

Great place! Great food! You have to try tuna tartare, while it's the season. It is something else! Never thought tuna can taste like this. And guys, the BOMBA dessert!!!! It is indeed a food bomb in a good way :) we ate 2!!! But whatever you take is good anyway. Do highly recommend

Absolutely nothing to complain about. Attentive service, food cooked to perfection and the atmosphere was cosy and romantic. I had a quite late dinner around 8.30pm and just walked in. Free entree, small pizza slice was given complimentary. I really enjoyed the lobster pasta.

This is an establishment when it comes to italian food, one of the oldest restaurants in Milan. Fantastic location with great lively atmosphere, food is delightful, service attentive and risotto to die for. It's worth a visit. Ps try their tiramisu. You won't regret it.

Managed to get a last minute table and so glad we did. It's on the pricier side, it ran to about 90euros each for 3 courses, wine and coffee but it was so worth it. The octopus parpadelle was incredible and the service was top notch. Only downside was being sat next to 2 Americans with no self awareness of their loudness.

Food: Superb! Flavour and texture are just nice. Seafood is fresh, Squid is tender, pastas are al dente. Service: well trained service staff, fast and knowledgeable to recommend the menu for u. Atmosphere: neat and bright. A hint of modernism in the traditional Italian style. Will I come back again? Definitely YES!

Great dining experience and great food. The service is a good balance of prim and friendly, and the atmosphere of the restaurant is “upscale” without being stuffy. For starter, we shared the snow crab, which was light and delicate. For main, I got the tortelli cacio e pepe with raw red shrimp, which was incredible — the cheese was strong and liquidy, giving the tortelli the feeling of a rich soup dumpling, and the red shrimp had amazing flavor. My husband got the gnocchetti with shrimp, calamari, and langoustine. The gnocchetti was pillowy, the seafood had good bite, and the sauce was very tasty and rich in flavor. For dessert, we shared a sachertorte, which wasn’t too sweet and had a nice subtle fruity flavor to balance out the chocolate.

Lovely place to dine. We were 7 people, so had a chance to order several dishes, everyone was super happy with their food. Ive tried risotto, probably the best one ive ever tried (a bit salty for my taste but still). Also gnocchi and spaghetti alla vongole was 10/10. Tiramisu and bomba di giacomo was really tasty. Plus, they have a really wide wine list, we’d love what they’ve recommended. Atmosphere was also really nice, like a tipical old but cool italian place. Staff was nice, besides a waiter who spoke italian on purpose to my friend even though she said that she doesn’t speak (reason for 4/5). But other than this incident, all of the staff was super helpful and nice. Would recommend!

Italian restaurant
Ratanà is an italian restaurant in Isola which specializes in contemporary takes on traditional Milanese cuisine. The dishes are often rich and flavourful, thanks to the use of high-quality ingredients like Lodigiano cheese. The restaurant has a beautiful garden setting and is popular with locals and tourists alike.
I visited Ratanà for lunch with 24 people. As the weather was nice, we were able to sit outside. Due to the size of our booking we had to opt for a set menu which was great although some of the portions could have been a little bigger. Service was fast considering the size of our group. We paid around €55 per head which included a 3 course meal, wine and coffee. I'd definitely recommend visiting if you are in the area.

The food was excellent, and I expected no less. Only the lamb ragú we had was a little over salted, so that came as a bit of a disappointment. Bone marrow risotto and desserts were enjoyable. Overall recommended!

This place was very enjoyable especially since its located next to an amazing kids playground. Since we had our kids with us they really enjoyed playing on the playground while we waited for food. The food tasted great. The Caesar salad was not caesar at all, but still good. Its more on the pricy side, but experience is really good. The wood is very good but I would not say it was amazing. Location and experience is great though.

One of the best restaurants I’ve been to in Italy, a must if you are visiting Milan. The risotto is delicious, and the ravioli with black cherry is one of the best pasta dishes I’ve had in my life. So incredible. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal and will make an effort to come back if we are ever again in Milan.

Beautiful food in a lovely setting. We ate inside but tables outside looked good too. Very hot the night we went. Food is intelligently prepared and served. Extensive menu but very well thought out. Highly recommended. Photos show gazpacho, stuffed pumpkin flower, risotto milanese with ossobuco, trout with vegetables, peach with chocolate and amaretto and peach sorbet. Lovely!

Such a delightful experience with an extremely high level of cooking. The whole place is beautifully designed, with the decor and even the outside seating being a gorgeous setting, with plants and shelves upon shelves of books and picture’s everywhere, creating a lovely atmosphere. We didn’t eat until 9pm when it was dark outside, but under the lights out the front it was rather romantic. We ordered a lot of food, by mistake really but I can hardly complain after eating it, so just note that pretty much everything is the size of a main course bar the starters and snacks - I think the first course and second course amongst other headings threw our English minds off after hearing about a tasting menu too, assuming a few courses was normal. Be warned, we almost popped haha. Despite being very very full, very full, everything was still delicious which says a lot. We had the cod tacos to start, very interesting with a mousse like consistency, and the traditional meatballs. The pastas were the highlight of the meal, truffle anchovies and a fishy spaghetti both amazing, very rich and creamy. And finally the Milanese risotto lived up to the hype, as well as the steak tartare which was massive but so delicate and light at the same time. Fantastic really, just a shame we couldn’t find room for pudding! The servers were lovely and charming and gave some tasty recommendations, thanks guys! It isn’t cheap, but it’s a good level of cooking at a high but attainable price to make for an awesome occasion meal.

The service here was fantastic, really attentive staff without being overbearing. The tables are located quite close together impacting upon the atmosphere given the table next to us was having a loud conversation. The food was good! Beautiful 5 course tasting dinner, we were very impressed by the 3 wine pairings, they really suited the food. Everything was cooked on point and the taste was elaborated without nonsense. I really liked the interior design of the restaurant, and the terrace, whilst in Milan center, felt secluded and private. Thanks for the hospitality!

Overall a somewhat disappointing experience, especially given the price. Environment: 5 stars - we sat in the garden, and it was lovely. Food: 2 stars - food was pretty underwhelming (especially for the price point). Every dish we had was fairly one-dimensional. All dishes comprised of one dominant flavor that overpowered everything, and very few other flavors to help balance. Service: 4 stars - everyone was very pleasant, but they kept forgetting about us (e.g. the wine we ordered, the coffee we ordered, etc).

I loved it, but it might not be for everyone. I went new & old, the summer tagliatelle (New) and the risotto with bone marrow (old). The summer tagliatelle was served cold, was extremely refreshing and a very different twist on a pasta dish. I really enjoyed it, especially as it had a hint of Asian influence (Top tip, order the meat ball appetizer, and dip them in the sauce). The saffron risotto with the bone marrow was DELICIOUS ! BUT, it was VERY, VERY RICH. I wish I had eaten less before this course. The service was perfect, always around when needed, but never overly present. Tell your server what you'd like, and let them help you navigate the options. PS : The Spritz HUGO is a great way to start the evening, if you like elderberry. Prices are in line with the quality of food and service.

The service was excellent. The restaurant kindly created a full vegan tasting menu for me, as I was joined by two friends (non-vegan) who were having the tasting menu. The food and the service was well worth the price. Thank you to the staff who made this wonderful experience possible!

Nice italian restaurant with a twist. The ossobuco risotto was the highlight. Tartare fassona was also not bad but overpriced. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Restaurant building is very cool. In conclusion Ratana is slightly overhyped, very nice to try but would not go twice. Make sure to book as it’s usually full.

Spent our last night in Milano with dinner at Ratanà. What an experience, definitely one of the best meals we had in our time here. Awesome old building, very cool vibe inside and outdoor seating. The risotto was unreal and you can never go wrong with mortadella! All the staff were very nice and accommodating as well. Definitely check it out if you're staying in Milano, reservations definitely recommend.

This restaurant had the best dishes we ate our entire trip. It’s situated beside a playground and feels like a real neighbourhood gem. The crudo, Milanese risotto (saffron, with bone marrow) and the fig ravioli along with the gnocchi with black truffle were highlights. The waiter recommended a local red wine to pair perfectly. Don’t second guess and just make a reservation (Easy to access by metro).

An amazing experience all around. Easily a Michelin 1 Star restaurant but personally I hate the guide so I’m glad it isn’t. Food was top notch, service was excellent (especially for English speakers), and the wine list is unreal, coming from the USA I was blown away at how reasonable the prices were. Couldn’t believe we had a bottle of wine and four dishes for less than 200 bucks that’s unheard of in the USA. Thank you to all of the chefs and staff in the back for an excellent meal.

My wife and I ate here last month on our trip around north Italy and it was probably in our top 3 meals and we ate at a few Michelin star restaurants. We both got the 5 course tasting menu with wine pairings. All the courses were perfectly prepared and very tasty. The wine pairings did a great job complimenting the courses. The classic Milanese saffron risotto and bone marrow was absolutely delicious though surprisingly the seasoned encrusted mushroom stole the show. It was amazing with the cheese sauce and lettuce. The "BBQ" chicken was the only course that was uninspiring, the chicken was dry but honestly the other courses and wine definitely made up for it. The service was also great and the waiter was very knowledgeable about the various wines that were served. If we are ever in Milan again we will be back. We definitely recommend this place, though make reservations as this is a popular place.

So, let me start by saying that I was so excited about this place after the reviews I read and seeing it on the Stanley Tucci Italy show. That may be the problem. If we had no expectations, it would have been a pretty good meal. The service was great. Atmosphere nice. The food was beautiful but overall just tasted fine. Not sure why, but apart from the salted grapefuit sorbet, the tasting menu lacked any distinct taste. We may have ordered wrong or caught them in an off night, but with all the hype, we were a bit underwhelmed. 😏

Very nice atmosphere with a limited amount of tables and lovely staff. The food is definitely showing quality but I could give it a 4 because it was not extraordinary as I expected. The white truffle pasta was by far the best dish they served.

The overall experience was very good and loved the vibes, however the food was a little bit too salty! We’ve ordered the Milanese meatballs and veal tongue pastrami focaccia as starters and those were delicious so highly recommended. For the main we had the pumpkin risotto and mountain trout. There’s lots of spices in the risotto, as well as “coffee”, this is an interesting ingredient being used in a main course, and we couldn’t finish this dish because it too salty. The trout was absolutely delicious and a love the baby onions too, so sweet and tender! We had the pannacotta as dessert and it’s so creamy and rich, goes so well with the sorbet.

In my opinion a 4 for this restaurant suitable as it was truly exceptional however did not fulfill my expectations. The quality of the food is a no doubt as the thought force that is behind the creation is well noticeable. The staff was kind and positive. However, despite being a 2-Star Michelin restaurant I did not get the “Wow” effect when I was eating, it did not feel or taste like an extraordinary experience. I have been to many gourmet restaurants with different ratings and I believe this was somewhat the same or maybe a little better than the others but I definitely think that the price for what you get is quite expensive. So the only reason I am giving maximum a 4 is because everything was perfect but the price and service is a mismatch in my opinion.

Impressive food, good service, some great wines. The dishes we had, tasting menu, were precisely executed, visually beautiful and tasted very good. I did not see a difference between several one star restaurants and this... I don't remember a dish I went truly wow. The wines were excellent, though selected by or in-group sommelier rather than initiated by the restaurant. To their credit the selection in vineyards and years available was strong...as long as you're looking for Italian wines. The service was attentive though not specially so. There were several times we had to work to get anyone's attention. Three ambience was relaxed but setting a tad tired, more 90s understated chic than 2020s arty chic. Overall I'd recommend if you're in the area.

Mixed views about this place. The location wasn’t that pleasant and no nice view - even the window blinds were closed. Decor was a bit dull and grey. Service was somewhat low level on occasions but at the same time the staff were very pleasant. Price was higher than other Michelin star restaurants I’ve visited in Italy. Very presumptuous that the man was paying, I mean you gave the man a menu with prices and the woman a menu without prices. This is the first time I’ve ever seen such thing being done. Variety of fellow diners was good to see. Bathroom was great. Many aspects of the restaurant were great too, and made better by the attentive staff. As non alcohol drinkers and one not eating meat, they accommodated us very well, making changes accordingly. Most of the food was delicious, some better than others as one can expect, and I enjoyed the evening a lot. Would I go back….not likely

Came back to my favourite restaurant in Milano after 7 years And the restaurant is just reached 60 anniversary in 2022 Tried the tasting menu of Territori and had several highlights Love most the eel which is big surprise, since I was never fans of any kind of eel. But this Eel of Po River with soft baked 'tarallo', wild fennel from Val d'Orcia and olives is just full of delight, especially the texture, was never encountered any similar level Also enjoyed the 'purple' shrimps from Polignano with Chickpeas from Murge, cardoncelli mushrooms and tomato preserves foam Dessert the 'La cartellata' also full of layers Definitely will come back when again in Milan

Wow. We arrived at 7p for our reservation for three. Our daughter was not up for a full tasting menu, so GM Nicola prepared a special short menu for her, while my wife and I enjoyed the full Summer Journeys menu. The 2008 Taittinger Comtes de Champagne was rich and full, and the 2000 Giacomo Conterno Barolo was still so young but a beautiful match with the food. We asked for an accelerated pace as we had been traveling on buses, trains and taxis for 8 hours, and the team executed with grace and precision. So lovely.

We went there for dinner before Xmas 2021. Overall experience is just ok. Food shows chefs’ techniques, it goes without saying. We did enjoy the food👍 However, the location and place isn’t amazed me, and the bread always came late when I already finished my dish 🤦‍♀️ I even asked them why the bread can’t come together ? They told me oh they have different bread 😅 Anyways, I would only rate as 3 starts for this 2 starts Michelin for the location and the saving bread time.

Phenomenal meal, especially the lobster brain risotto. Super well executed. Amazing service. The only surprise was that they offered two glasses of sparkling wine to celebrate our anniversary, which was a surprise €70 additional cost - given that champagne service is complementary in many Michelin star restaurants or at least they indicate that its an added cost, I felt like there could have been better communication.

Celebrating last night in Milano with family. Chose the degustation menu in a very exclusive setting. The food was premium with partial substance. Food served over 3 hours. The servicing team was friendly but mechanical. The ‘surprises’ between dishes were perplex that adds volume not taste. There were some high lights (e.g. foi gras with eel and risotto were tasty and pretty ) Overall experience was too long and missing some memorable essentials. The credit card machine broke down and showing rejection (due to lack of signal) at the end of a very expensive meal. A huge faux pas that killed the mood.

I was in Milan for the Monza Grand Prix & had some guests joining so wanted to make sure we try Milan’s top kitchens! Seta at The Mandarin Oriental came across as one of the best & it truly didn’t disappoint! The outdoor garden was beautiful, the service was top-notch, the staff knew exactly what they’re talking about & how to service & most importantly the FOOD! Excellent starter tasting menu followed by possibly one of the best pastas & chicken dishes I have ever had in my life! The drinks & desserts were equally on point! By the end of the night we almost didn’t want to leave after spending nearly 2 hours there! A place to come back to indeed! And, if you’re a proper sophisticated food lover then this is your heaven!

Great food and great experience, with only one perplexity. Food quality and dishes’ complexity are truly whole next level. I picked the signature menù “Seta” and I didn’t regret the choice at all. The two Michelin’s stats are highly deserved for each course and the attention to details. Personally, I found really amazing the raspberry rice, but there were many great dishes such as foie gras with eel or cooked oysters. The only dish that didn’t really surprised me, maybe for the high expectations on the raw ingredient, was the one with the blue lobster that I found a bit too light in taste and texture. Besides this, it has definitely been an exciting journey. The only part where I don’t feel like giving the 5 stars was the service. Let’s be clear, the staff has been amazing and very kind, I also had a long talk with the sommelier and even few minutes with the chef. The issue (or better the bitter feeling) came out at the very end: while being welcomed at the beginning I accepted a glass of Prosecco that only while paying I discovered being priced at 40€ per person. Now, it’s not about the cost (especially considering the budget for this kind of dinner) but more about getting what you pay for. In two people it’s already 80€ and with a bit more i might have preferred to get an entire bottle instead of two glasses. I think that the lack of transparency of this specific phase was definitely a miss. It’s a pity because aside of this event it has been the best dining experience I have had in my life so far.

We haven’t really had the chance to try local traditional Italian food in Milan "yet" .🤷🏻‍♀️ Our first day was a memorable lunch at 2 michelin-starred restaurant Seta at Mandarin Oriental. It was great, lots of complimentary amuse bouche which, made sense in preparing us for the main lunch. Service was excellent, however, we came in around 2ish and by 3:30ish, the restaurant was empty, including our original servers. Everyone dissappeared after the cheese course without saying anything to us (which usually most fine dine place would do especially our main server going for a break). So we just find that the journey dining at Seta was somewhat incomplete. Overall Chef Antonio Guida did an magnificent job in creating each plate, not only was his presentation was like piece of art but it was delicate and savoury. Again, it made sense. Many chefs tried so hard to make their own cooking "fusion" but being overly creative can make their customers tastebuds into the journey of “confusion”. 😂🤣 Luckily, that wasn’t the case here with Chef Antonio Guida. Since we're not a big adventurers on set menu, we have opted for ala carte total of 4 courses without dessert as we know at the end there will be generous sweet treat on the house. 😋❤️

A nice experience. I got the vegetarian course to try, and everything was amazing. The chocolate dessert was the best
