Lake Como is a stunningly beautiful lake in Italy that is well known for its dramatic mountain views and luxurious resorts. It's an easy 30-45 minute train ride from Milan, and a day trip is definitely recommended if you're looking to explore the area's charming stores and cafes as well as take in some incredible scenery.
it was a beautiful experience for myself and my friends. The Lake Como not only offers a stunning scenery with impressive and unique architecture but also scrumptious food! There was not a day that passed without one Aperol Spritz. In Lake Como you get to connect with the locals on a deeper level and you get the one in a lifetime opportunity to dabble into the italian lifestyle. The cities along the lake are easily accessed through the ferry, that rides regularly throughout the day. Every single town has its own specialty which makes them all worth exploring! I do have to add, that the city Como itself and Bellagio had a more posh touch to it. Although the towns were consistent with the cute italian architecture, you were surrounded by huge luxury houses and many many wealthy people. Furthermore, it was quite busy and that should be taken into consideration since i went there during NYE, meaning there weren’t as many tourists as there would be in the summer season. Still, you felt that Lake Como is loved by many people. Nonetheless it was a lovely experience!

A beautiful place - we took the train from Milan for 5 euros. But if you are planning a one day trip, there is not enough time to explore all the beaches by walking.

It was great to see the villas with the boat tour! You should definitely take a boat tour! Great to hear the history of Como and villas from a captain. You should definitely spare 2 days for Como.

This whole place looks like from a fairytale. Amazing views, beautiful lake with mountains all around. The building and all architecture is very traditional, lets say very italian. It makes you feel like in dream really. The food in restaurants though is quite expensive.

1.5 hours drive from Milan. Beautiful scenery and drive.
If you are driving make sure you leave well in advance because it gets busier.
Try to travel 3 must villages and if you are driving do not drive from one village to another always take fairy. It’s easy and short otherwise you will end up having difficulty uphill sharp turns.

One of the most beautiful attractions around Milan.

It’s totally recommended as a day trip.

Lake Como offers amazing scenery and it's really worth your time. Lake is surrounded by beautiful towns/villages where you can stroll and sink the atmosphere. Lake also offers spectacular mountain views. I recommend to take a ferry from one side of the lake to the other, so you can see and enjoy the lake to the fullest. Plan to spend here couple hours. You can easily get to Como by taking direct train from Milan.

Lake como is very charming place. You will love it instant you see it. For a quieter area, try Bellano with train access. But anywhere on the lake you choose to stay will not disappoint. Simply gorgeous views from all sides of the lake. We love Lake Como.

It's definitely a special place with huge potential beauty, but... It's very commercial in certain parts. It's one of those areas that is suffering under its own success.

This spectacular lake is both serene and surrounded by amazing little towns and villas all the way through to Como City at the southern tip of this inverted Y- shaped very picturesque lake. It’s also surrounded by lush green mountains. We took the boat ride from Bellagio to Como city in this leg, where all these pictures were shot from. We started off with a thunderstorm that subsided quick and then it was a lovely and calm and relaxing boat ride all the way through. One must definitely take a cruise along this lake to get a good perspective of this beautiful lake and wonders of nature surrounding this place.

‼️BRIEFLY ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Among the largest lake in Italy and probably the most famous.
❗KEEP IN MIND: you can walk around it but it will take more than one day.. Cycling is also another good option but will require time as well. Else you have ferries going around.

Framed against a breathtaking landscape of steep, pine-swathed mountains, Lake Como is famed for its atmospheric sense of calm and elegance…… therefore a must visit for anyone!
I wanna go again and again this part of Italy

One of the highlights of the trip was passing by the elegant villas that dot the shoreline. Each one seemed more luxurious than the last, with their colorful facades and lush gardens adding to the charm of the surroundings. I couldn't help but imagine what life must be like for the fortunate few who call these magnificent properties home. I would have liked to have a guide to provide us with fascinating insights into the history and culture of Lake Como ( we found them online). Whether you're a nature lover, a history buff, or simply someone in search of a peaceful escape, I can't recommend it highly enough. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. You feel connected with the nature around you and with yourself as you watch the shows of lights given by the sun, the birds swimming and the life murmur on the shore.

Best stops along Milan to Lucerne drive
The top stops along the way from Milan to Lucerne (with short detours) are Leolandia, Chapel Bridge, and San Siro Stadium. Other popular stops include Funicolare Como-Brunate, Lake Lugano, and Villa Carlotta.
Leolandia is a fantastic amusement park that offers a wide range of attractions for both kids and adults. Visitors can enjoy thrilling roller coasters, water rides, and miniature models of famous Italian landmarks. The park is well-maintained with plenty of dining options and restroom facilities. It's recommended to arrive early to avoid crowds, as the waiting times for rides are generally short.
Awesome theme park for the little once. If the kid is more than 105 cm, he could ride most of the rides. Entry could vary from 25 up to 38 euros based on how early is your reservation. The parking is 5 euros. The food meals are reasonably priced especially for kids. Not for the thrill seekers.

A wonderful space designed in thematic segments for the happiness of children, like a puzzle. Manufactured with good aesthetic taste, meant to capture the energy in a functionality of the fairytale landscape. We were more than happy ❣.

My little one loved the park! Park is quite quiet in March. We went on some of her favourite rides on repeat! Loads of interaction time with the characters. All the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. We arrived with suitcases. Easy to store at reception for €10.

We stayed whole Sunday over there, my 2,5 years and 6 years kid enjoyed it a lot! Great fun on summer day. Food is expensive as the toys, but drinks are the same more or less like everywhere in Italy. There's mini Italy as well as a small area with animals. The park is not big but the day goes away quickly and there's still plenty to see.

A fantastic place to spend a full day with family. This place is not just for kids, but even adults can enjoy their time.
One day to cover all activities is doable especially if it is not jam-packed, but 2 days is more than enough to cover all activities.
The place is very well maintained, there are plenty of eateries and toilets, and is worth the time and money.

Great place to bring your family for a day of fun. The little italy is nice for get a moment of relax.. few place where to play with water so please don't forget the swimwear for kids.
There is animal that you can feed and Sn aquarium and a reptile area.
Ivan Pelizzari — Google review
Great escape day. If you have kids this is the right place to go. Went there last weekend and it was very crowded, especially the "bettola". Had to wait very long to get some food. Attractions were nice
Marco Marinaccio — Google review
The park is great, attractions are enough and fun for children of various ages. I love the farm zone and "lake" side walk area.
What I would suggest:
1. Shuttle bus from Milan to Leolandia - Most parks have this. The gang which you have to pass from the Capriate highway station is so dangerous, dirty and bizzare. It's the last place to be with children. You cannot say that is a "safe" passage.
2. Cleanliness of the park - I would recommend having more people clean the park and restaurants area.
3. Shading zone - Please consider planting trees around the park. There are not that many shading areas considering the amount of people and roads in the park. It's difficult with kids in the sun.
Rizopol George — Google review
Great albeit expensive experience for the whole family. We were 4 adults and 2 kids.
The kids had a blast and us adults had a great time too.
The shows and PJ masks museum are in Italian and might not be the most interesting for non Italians. All of the rest of the activities are suitable for everyone (depending on height).
Steven Globus — Google review
Very nice place. Has enough entertainment for kids. Most rollercoasters start from 105cm, so smaller kids can mainly enjoy water games, Thomas train, shows and there are a few slow ones.
Several areas for wood spread around, so no need to walk back and forth.
Get there early. It gets crowded closer to 12-13. Waiting time is low ( 5-10 min).

The contemporary Piazza Gae Aulenti in Milan is a popular tourist destination for visitors to enjoy the modern side of the city. The square is surrounded by skyscrapers and luxury stores, making it a popular spot for people looking to enjoy a short break from the enormity of typical monuments found in the city. It's also worth checking out for its nightlife, which includes many restaurants and bars with exclusive atmospheres.
I recommend it for a short break from the enormity of typical monuments of the city. It's just something completely different. Lots of luxurious clothing stores, car showrooms, exclusive restaurants, company headquarters and office buildings. Definitely worth a visit.

A modern square in Milan, surrounded by towering skyscrapers that reflect today's technology and architecture, housing offices of many companies. You can see the Bosco Verticale from this square. The surrounding buildings feature various shops, restaurants, and cafes.
I recommend visiting Piazza Mercanti as well, which was the most important square in the city during the Middle Ages and still retains a medieval atmosphere today due to the influence of its surrounding historic buildings. Contrasting these two squares would provide an opportunity to contemplate the architectural and cultural changes over the past 1000 years.

Great square surrounded by great modern architecture. The buildings are quite groundbreaking but the greatest fact in ny opinion is how well articulated is the open space with the streets, buildings, train station and the city itself. A different face of Milan than we’re used to see. Must go

Gorgeous square with ultra modern architecture. Good place to relax and visit if you have time. A lot of kids playing in the area and families in the park. Otherwise, has a lot of generic stores.

Such a contrast between these fancy, shiny buildings and the greenery of Bosco Verticale just around the corner. You can see where the differing priorities lie for the designers and owners of these buildings. Nice space to relax by the water or grab a bite to eat after shopping if you don't want to chill out in the green space next door.

This is a new city concept park surrounded by modern high-rise buildings and shops. Crowded by both tourists and locals, this is a new development area in Milan. Symbolic square of the modern part of Milan. As soon as you arrive in the square it has a somewhat strange look but then when you look closely it also becomes kinda interesting. Near the square there are many offices, cafés, restaurants and shops. The historic area near the square is also very nice, which has several nice restaurants with good prices to consider
Andrea Nori — Google review
This round square is the face of 21st century Milan. Or, at least, the symbol of how Milan sees itself and how it wants to be seen in the 21st century: shiny new buildings, imposing, yet sleek skyscrapers, corporate offices, restaurants and shopping centers. You may like or dislike the style (and the stark contrast with the old architecture of Milan), but it is important to go and see it as a symbol. It was inaugurated at the end of 2012 and dedicated to the Italian architect and designer Gae Aulenti, who had passed a couple of months before. It combines this aseptic modernity with some green spaces and the fountains at the center of this round square measuring 100 meters in diameter are also a fun place for kids to get wet in the summer. Everything is nicely maintained and spotlessly clean. To fully embrace the symbolism, have an ice cream at Grom's on the square: Grom was created as an artisanal ice cream parlour in the "rival city" of Turin and then it was incorporated into a large industrial corporation around the same time the square opened to the public (but the ice cream is still really good).
Niccolo' Bertoldi — Google review
Beautiful square. Often busy with people just hanging out and enjoying the atmosphere. Surrounded by great shops and buildings.

Modern part of Milano, I was really surprised from plants and insects around beautiful buildings
Irena Dimitrova — Google review
A very beautiful modern square. A completely different face of Milan. It's worth visiting this place. The contrast between the old and the modern is just great.
Everything is beautifully laid out. Children's playground (lots of fun for children with the fountains). Be sure to bring a towel if you visit the place with the kids). Supermarket and train station around the corner.
Feels like you are in a modern city like New York.
The Monumental Cemetery in Milan is a large graveyard filled with sculptures and monuments by famous artists and architects. It is known for its varied styles, which date back to the 19th century. There is a Studio BBPR memorial to WWII concentration camp victims in the center of the cemetery, as well as separate sections for Catholics, Jews, and non-Catholics.
I liked it very much. I never imagined that in a cemetery I would be able to admire so many works of art. Such a soothing place, huge and full of history, is worth a visit. There is even a map for visiting the famous tombs.
Alexandra Dohotari — Google review
A truly wonderful place that is 30 minutes north of Duomo Cathedral and is a pleasant escape from the busy city centre.
Filled with stunning religious tombs, monuments and mausoleums, you can spend hours walking through the cemetery. I really recommend this place if you are visiting Milan and remember to bring water when the weather is hot.
Plenty of shaded areas too which is nice.

Do you like visiting cemeteries? Normally, cemeteries aren't on my list of places to visit, yet Milan's Monumental Cemetery breaks the mold, transforming a burial site into a spectacular open-air art museum. The Monumental Cemetery, an admission-free gem in Milan, was a serendipitous find I'm thankful for not overlooking. This no-cost experience was unexpectedly enriching.
Beata K — Google review
Exemplary graveyard architecture. Take a walk here to get rid of your spirits and embrace the funeral atmosphere.
Giorgio Patelli — Google review
I stumbled upon this cemetery on my way to go shopping and I'm so glad I stopped. It's the most beautiful cemetery I've ever seen (though keep in mind, I'm American so the cemeteries I'm used to are not that impressive) and it's hard to express just how large the property is. There are so many beautiful monuments that it would take hours to see them all.
It's very peaceful in the cemetery, so this is the perfect place to visit if you want to look at art and get away from the crowds. I found this description on one of the maps:
"The scultures and buildings of the Monumental Cemetery allow us to experience the major events of the city's past, its artistic journey from realism and eclecticism of the late 19th century, through to art nouveau and symbolism of the early 20th century, and then on to the contemporary age, as if it were a real open air museum featuring all the major Italian artists."
Hidden gem in Milan, and a must-visit. Highly recommend, especially since it's free!

As the name suggests, it is a monumental cemetery indeed. If you have time in Milan, I totally recommend visiting. So many beautiful artworks your jaw will drop.

I don't know why I liked this place so much, but it was very peaceful to walk around the cemetery looking at all the amazing graves and monuments. It felt almost like an art gallery more than a cemetery. Worth a visit when you are in Milan.

Visited this site September 2022. Visited the cemetery only after a fantastic tour--English Free Tour Milan sponsored by CITYWALKERS--with Marco, who brought this to our tour group's attention. His recommendation was, "If you really like architecture and sculpture...." and I knew I was adding a visit to my priorities.
I spent the entire afternoon walking around, up and down rows and rows of mausoleums and monuments that were utterly stunning and beautiful. One can run around and test one's own knowledge of architectural periods, from Classical to Byzantine to Gothic to Baroque, etc.
I highly recommend a visit for lovers of sculpture and architecture geeks. Make a visit to Cimitero Monumentale as high a priority as a visit to the Duomo.

What a magnificent place - definitely one of the most interesting ones in Milan. The statues and the atmosphere of the place are chilling. Great stadium. I watched Champions League games in October 2022 between Inter Milan and Barcelona. The atmosphere is breathtaking. The Italian fans are awesome. There were close to 80,000 people in the stadium. Definitely recommend visiting this place to watch the beautiful game.

Stunning stadium, cracking atmosphere. Highly recommend that you attend a game here if possible. Would have been 5 stars if it wasn't for the excessive crowds, although these are understandable, and the extremely long walk up the spiral ramp to the "cheap seats"

An iconic stadium with so much history. Great tour with lots of interesting facts about the ground. Still looks incredibly modern for a stadium that is being considered to be demolished and rebuilt, would be a shame should this happen as every seat has the perfect view. Easy to find with a shirt walk from the cable car. A must!

Top notch... was surprised with how easy it was to go in and find out location..... has some 4 flights of steps to go up to the second circle . Toilets were good considering that for the derby there were over 75k people ..... very safe with police everywhere, didn't come across not even one fight .... the flow to go out was good, constantly moving and never stuck . Can't wait to go back 🤗

One of the world's football cathedrals. The tour is perfect, getting into the most private rooms in each team and following the history and the actual state of the Stadium. There is so much history that you can breathe with the excitement of getting on the pitch or the bench.

We went to the AC Milan vs Atalanta match and it was an amazing atmosphere, a surreal experience. Definitely one of the best atmospheres I have ever experienced.
The fans were friendly and the staff were fast and friendly and we were able to get into the stadium very quickly and easily.
Would have been five stars but unfortunately night was ruined as metro stations suddenly closed without warning and we had to bike 35 minutes back to our hotel whilst it was pouring down with rain. We also had an early morning flight the next day.
But other than that, the stadium is definitely a 5/5, just ruined by the metro closing without notice.

Amazing stadium, truly a spectacle in football. The quality of the tour itself is low. They claim to do information in English and in Italian however the amount of information you receive in English is very pool. About 5 min of info in Italian and then about a minute in English. Also far too many people on the tour.

Easy access.

Absolutely fantastic visit and tour to this football stadium and at around £26 each not badly priced. My husband is a massive football fan, and he loved this tour where we got to visit the dressing rooms of both teams and two museums. Walk down the tunnel out to the pitch and the stands. Even for myself, who is not a football fan, it was still a really enjoyable visit .

Great stadium tour. You start in the museum looking at all the famous players t shirts. Then your tour guide takes you to the Inter and AC Milan changing rooms. Next you get a pitch tour and finally you head into the history of the stadium including plaques on all the previous FA Cup winners. I hate footfall but actually loved this tour.

Wow, brilliant experience. The stadium is superb with a really good atmosphere, around 70k+ fans watching AC Milan.
Access is very easy via Metro, need passport to verify entrance (as we are English) and allow plenty of time to get in. We were on teir 3 so needed to walk the full spiral!
Food and drink outside is good, inside is a bit more tricky as it can be busy, especially at half time, but you can take to your seats.
Highly recommended.

Wonderful experience touring this place! Staff was really friendly and the museum was interesting as well. As an avid football fan, the stadium was something I’ve always wanted to see and it exceeded my expectations!

The last of the truly classic football stadiums. Such a unique looking ground and one for the football fan bucket list. Did the guided tour and museum for €30. The museum is quite small but covers Inter and AC Milan with classic kits from legends from both teams. Plus some of the trophies that both teams won. Guided tour takes you around the changing rooms and inside the ground pitch side. The tour guide gives you basic information about the history of the ground but not Inter or AC Milan. There is an additional exhibition of the Italian national team. Well worth seeing.

Visited San siro whilst on a trip to Milan and wanted to see this legendary status stadium. The Stadium is very imposing and amazing to see. You can understand why it has the status that it does. However the stadium tour has much to be desired. You feel that you are rushed through very quickly and don't get to enjoy the experience, I much prefer other stadium tours such as the Emirates where you have an audio guide and you can walk through at your own pace and really take in the moment. I would also say your restricted to what you see, the changing rooms (AC & Inter) but not away rooms, then down the tunnel to the pitch, up to one stand and then the tour is over really. You feel like there is a lot that's missed out. However the tour guides speak Italian and English and are very knowledgeable. If you would like to see the stadium and pitch it is great but if you want an in depth view of the stadium, this won't fulfill those needs.

Amazing stadium, full of history and easy to get to from Milan central. The tour is good but very short because it's not guided so you end up walking around it quite quickly.

Truly amazing stadium with maybe the best atmosphere in Europe. Great food trucks in front and very easy to park and take train to and from. Easy and safe feeling and I can’t wait to go again. I bought the Milan tickets in the Milan iPhone app for €21 per ticket. World class experience

Amazing, top notch stadium and tour. Would highly recommend if you are in Milan. Getting to the stadium can be tricky, but the train is right outside or you can take a quick 20-30 taxi/Uber from the center of Milan. Roughly 30 Euro to take the tour. Pre book your tickets online to avoid waiting in the queue.

Our family recently visited the iconic San Siro Stadium, and despite the hefty entrance fee of approximately 88 EUR, the experience proved to be a thrilling adventure, especially for my football enthusiast son.
As someone who isn't a die-hard football fan, I was pleasantly surprised by the sheer grandeur of the stadium. The aura and history that permeate the venue are palpable, making it an impressive sight for even those less inclined towards the sport. However, the real magic happened for my 10-year-old son, who was practically in heaven exploring the home of some of football's greatest legends.
The guided tour, though not overly extensive, provided interesting insights into the stadium's rich history and showcased key areas, including the player locker rooms and the pitch itself. Our guide was knowledgeable and added a personal touch to the experience, making it engaging for both adults and kids.
While the overall visit was well worth it, one aspect that left a slightly bitter taste was the expensive merchandise in the stadium shop. It's no surprise that sports memorabilia can be pricey, but the costs here felt notably steep. Families should be prepared for the temptation of indulging in fan gear but be cautious of the dent it might make in your wallet.
In conclusion, San Siro Stadium is undeniably a must-visit for football enthusiasts and even those with a casual interest in the sport. The awe-inspiring atmosphere and the sheer magnitude of the venue make it a memorable experience for the whole family. Despite the high entrance fee and pricey merchandise, the joy it brought to my son made it a worthwhile outing that we'll remember for years to come

The stadium is quite old and lacks a number of the modern conveniences one expects in a stadium. The seats are small, the bathrooms are messy and there are no concession stands or souvenier stores inside the walls. However, it's one of the most enjoyable places to watch a football match and it's steeped in history. I highly recommend going to the stadium and taking in a match.

A big stadium with a lot of sitting places, a possibility without stairs to reach the upper blocks. From our block we didn't like the window keeping frames, they were disturbing so much. It has a metro station number 5 line coming very close, which is super convenient.

Legendary stadium home to two of the biggest clubs in Italy and Europe. The San Siro is an absolute masterpiece and one of the most iconic old school stadiums in existence. The transit connectivity is quite convenient and matchdays have a tonne of food and drink options outside the stadium plus a lot of souvenir and merchandise stalls. Be sure to do the stadium tour and visit the locker rooms, museum and the stands and pitch.

The stadium of my dreams.
Went there during the Derby della Madonnina. Stadium is very huge. Atmosphere is electric.
We sat at Terzo Anello Rosso (third red ring), sector 331. It was very high up, but we got a very good view of the pitch.
We enter via gate / entrance 12. There’s a metro stop nearby (i.e. SAN SIRO STADIO) to get to and away from the stadium.
There are also food, drinks & souvenir stands outside the stadium. Food and beverages bought from these stands have to be consumed outside of the stadium (you can’t bring them in).
Also beware of people trying to scam you with string bracelets.

I stopped by this football stadium Mecca in order to visit the museum and take the tour.
For any football fan, visiting San Siro is a must. The tour gives you access to both the Milan and Inter locker rooms, as well as the stadium grounds.
The museum has cool memorabilia of the team players, past and present.
The stadium store has wide selection of club themed clothing and various gift ideas. If you are a fan of the teams, expect to leave the store with at least 1 item.
Visiting San Siro Stadium was definitely worth it and I would recommend it to any football fan.

I was lucky enough to find a match ticket AC Milan vs Lecce (3-0). I bought it from a local because all the tickets were finished.
The shop is big (back in 2009, I remember I did enter to the stadium and to the museum too, ask for it).
Watching a game here was a very good experience.

The Basilica of San Gaudenzio is a prominent landmark in Novara, Italy. Its towering central cupola, reaching 121 meters high, makes it visible from almost anywhere in the city. The 19th-century masterpiece features ornate columns and colorful frescos inside its opulent interior. This church is renowned for its impressive dome, one of the largest in Italy, offering breathtaking views from the top.
The Basilica was holding a music concert when I visited it, the music made the visit more enjoyable.

The Basilica, a symbol of Novara, adds a wonderful atmosphere to the city with its high dome and exterior facade that harmonizes with the surrounding streets. The architecture of the Basilica is truly fascinating and worth exploring. The interior is not cluttered with objects, with the architectural features taking center stage. I can say it's a religious structure that impresses you with its grandeur as soon as you step inside. We enjoyed exploring it.
Unfortunately, we couldn't find any informative brochures or plaques while touring.

The imposing cathedral was built over three centuries and features intricate marble Gothic architecture and a beautiful dome. The interior is decorated with colorful frescoes and intricate tapestries. It's a must-see destination in Como, Italy.
The Cattedrale di S. Maria Assunta di Como is not far from the lake and in the the main square. This cathedral was started in the 1400's and was not completed until the 1600's. They were persistent and it sure paid off as this Cathedral is magnificent, breath taking and awe inspiring. It is so huge it is impossible to capture the entire structure, marble, tapestries, multiple altars, stained glass windows, tombs, statutes and more. I unfortunately didn’t have much time to spend here but was in awe with what I did get to see. If I am ever in the Lake Como area again I would definitely come see it again and spend more time here.

Beautiful Catholic church with great interiors. The place had both gothic and renaissance interiors and there’s a story behind this. Free entrance! Also.. Look up! That ceiling definitely humbles you. Walking around the side of the back also allowed for a different and less crowded view.
Central to Como town, this place seems to be a common rendezvous area for people to meet — locals and trousers alike. So, find a place near by to sit and have an afternoon apero and just enjoy the people-watching while you write your postcards!

This is a beautiful church with a long history. The interior is free to enter but donations are welcome. More than most churches, you'll find a lot of panels and historical pieces showcasing the church. The context helps a lot and makes it a better learning experience. The outside is wonderfully detailed, but the best part is that you can interact with parts of the old foundation! A side of the church that was excavated is open for viewing, seating, and appreciation. It's a great stop on your way around town.

Huge aviation museum featuring real planes, flight simulators & a playground, plus a fast-food cafe.
I saw many aviation museums, but I can say that Volandia is among the best ones. You can find it right next to Malpensa int. airport in Milan.
In museum you can see a huge number of scale models, large number of real military and some civil aircrafts (they are in outdoor display too), you can even see some old and new cars. They also have flight simulators, but during our visit weren't operating!?
Inspite that I am big fan of aviation I would like to point out the space section in this museum. Personally, it was my favourite! This is really a must see because of so many scale models, space suits, solar system moduls, there are even pieces of real meteorites on display.
They've really done a great job!
For children are outside and big indoor playground, you won't be thirsty or hungry either, because they took care of that too!
I highly recommend it!👌🏻

Wonderful idea turned to a concept museum for airplane lovers. Absolutely a must seen place for those who love travelling. Excellent choice for those that need to spend some hours waiting to get on their next flight from the Milano malpensa airport. Big variety of planes, engines, crafts, civil and military ones, flight simulators (not high tech) teaching cockpits, modelism and also concept future cars. I spent almost 3 hours to see everything. The staff really friendly and helpful. Too ad that it is a little "abandoned". Some cleaning and renovation could turn this rock to a diamond. Totally worth the ticket.

How to walk from the main terminal to the museum: from the "Departures/Partenze" (upstairs) go to the right (NORTH) and at the end of the bridge turn right. At the gate telephone at the published number and somebody will come and open it. Do not walk around the museum perimeter because of construction works: it could become extremely complicated or even dangerous.

Outstanding Museum. I spent 6 hours at this museum this past weekend. It was wonderful.
Short walk from Milan Malpensa Airport. Right now, it is only open on Saturday’s and Sunday’s (Winter Schedule). There is a gate at the back and if you call the number, they will come open the gate helping to avoid a long walk around to the front entrance.
Fee to enter was 15 euros for adults. There is a cafe in the main building and a small fast food restaurant on the property that opens at noon.
The vast collection of aircraft and helicopters is amazing. I love the DC-3, MD-80, and DC-9 that is on the property. The DC-9 used to transport Pope John Paul II and once transported the World Cup winning Italian soccer team.
They also had a Bertone Collection of cars exhibition that was outstanding. Really interesting.
I loved my visit and highly recommend to all avgeeks and aviation enthusiasts.

Wedding photographer's perspective: We've shot here a couple of pre weddings sessions and it has always been a beautiful experience. The architecture of this villa is a great frame for elegant pictures and the gardens are simply a paradise on earth. They are super wide so that even if the location is crowded it's still possible to find private spots for photography. The light at sunset here makes everything magical and cinematic. Our couples have always loved exploring this villa. The fee for shooting here is one of the cheapest on the lake, making choosing Villa Melzi an obvious choice 10/10!!

Villa Melzi is one of the highlights of lake como.
Inside here you can find manicured and beautiful lawns; a chapel at the end of the garden, the villa itself with unique symmetry architecture, and a small anti-aquarium house.
The villa’s beauty will strike at your heart with its beauty.
The villa has an interesting history; especially on its ownership origins till today and is worth a read.

In the chapel are incredibly ornate marble sculptures; seen in the attached video is one example of marble sculpted to look like fabric.

Had such higher expectations but unfortunately was disappointed. It's a nice place with a variety of flower and exotic plants but not much else.
The museum is basically one room with a few statues.
The yard/garden has beautiful views but definitely not worth 8 euros per person. The aquarium is almost non-existent.
It has a few decent buildings, one which is still occupied by a resident.
Overall great for a stroll but not much to see other than different types of trees and plants.
Mostly used by newly-weds for wedding pictures.

The gardens of the Melzi Villa are huge pretty, and actually pretty basic. The number of trees and unique plants is fun, but you're not going to see any elaborate floral arrangements or planting patterns. For example, the Japanese section is an unexpected treat, but the water inside the pond was was very dirty and unwelcoming. I'm not sure €8 is worth the entry price, at least not in August (maybe other months have different plants in season). It takes twenty minutes to walk from the ferry port to the front gate so budget that time into your day. You'll spend maybe a hour in the gardens.

Beautifully manicured and well taken care of gardens. The house and chapel are in terrific shape. Wonderful plant and tree specimens throughout. Make sure to bring water as there are no services other than a WC.

A very spectacular garden with beautiful landscaping. There are 2 interior buildings which are accessible, the museum and the chapel. The house is closed off which is understandable since it's actually somebody's house. I felt very lucky to be able to see the garden itself.
The museum is interesting and takes you through the ownership of the house over time,.and key events that happened there. It also gave me some perspective on the Napoleonic and Austrian periods.
Arriving here is a short pleasant walk along the promenade from the boat stop, very easy to get to. Set aside at least an hour since even though the garden may not look huge, it's actually pretty big. Bring water. Note that to appreciate many hiddem parts of the gardens you will need to walk up steep hills, but you can still enjoy much of it from the main, flat, walkway.

Garden was nice with a map for all the monuments and trees. 8 euro per person seemed a little high as the place was rather small and didn't offer much to look at except a nice view of the mountains and a couple landmarks on the property. Beautiful gardens just on the bank of the lake in Bellagio. The walk and landscape is beautiful. Although they call Villa it is more the view of the lake and the lush gardens are the experience. Typically you walk from one to another and back to Bellagio and can take an hour. The entrance fees are 8€ and free for kids.
Pombia Safari Park is a drive-through animal park featuring elephants, tigers, and lions with a breeding program. Visitors can also enjoy family rides within the park. Additionally, there's an option to stay overnight at Safari Park Pombia Hotel with breakfast included and skip the line at the entrance cash desks. The park offers a variety of animals seen up close in their natural habitat. It's well-maintained and clean, ensuring that the animals are treated well.
We had just the best experience!
Our visit was just a few days before the Easter holidays, so it felt as if the Safari and the attractions were just waiting for us. It was not crowded at all, just a few families.
The Safari is very nice, variety of animals, you can see them very very close at their actual size.
Very well maintained, clean and it seemed the animals are treated well.
The attraction park is also nice, not too big, just perfect for small kids (teenagers can have some fun too).

Nice safari with the car between the animals.
We went on Wednesday and Thursday. You could enter for free the 2nd time. It was very quiet.
The children aged 2 and 5 really enjoyed seeing the animals up close. And the water park was absolutely fantastic!
We didn't really go to the fair.
The park opens at 10:00 am, but not everything is open then, the shop and eateries open later.
We had 2 very nice days

Good place for the kids. The safari was a pleasant experience. Less crowded. Calm place. The restaurant food tasted really good. The quality of the food was too good for a park that has very minimal visitors.

The park js a lil old and not that spectacular. The only really good thing here is the safafi tour. I would recommend to do it with your own car. The park himself is a lil boring and its quiet expensive. If you are arround and bored you could go otherwise i would not suggest

Very beautiful safari park, this is our first one of this kind. Really loved the place, animals are calm and close to the car. Even our small son who is almost one year loved it. The price is about 25 euro per person. There is a good buffet inside walking area, a bit further in the center

I want to break this review for the Safari and the rest of the park.
The safety was actually very nice, but if you think about it, how do they make all this enigmas to stand in the exact same place as on the map?!
The rest of the park is lame! The food is gross and expensive. The show is a little Crawl for my taste.
The aquarium was to lame to talk about. I had a friend with better aquarium 🤦🏼.
I came with my kid end expected to be there fool day, finally we left after an hour.
My suggestion, just go to another place. 😒

Organized safari and around 1 hour from Milano. The cost of ticket for kids and adults are expensive for the little provided services. All interaction games are paid separately which cost 3 Euro per game for 6 games for 10 Euro

Fun trip with family.
Being so close to lion's and other animals was really exciting. But kids also loved the reptiles.
Could improve in terms of environmental education, as it doesn't make sense to have wild animals within enclosures if not for a greater good.
Food options available inside (but avoid the really dry lasagna).
Ladies restrooms only has on the ground toilets

The idea of this park is very good. Everbody can find something interesting. We have spend a wonderful day in this park with a lot of animals we cant find everyday in real. But... The attractions looked to be old, the drinks Pepsi/Beer we have received werent sparkling, the ice creams too sweet in comparison of the wonderful ones we can find in the other touristic places, some staff members seemed to be bored to work there, the swimming pool still under construction even promised for 2023

Comfortable for going from milan city, good choice for one day trip for family travel. I have been there at 2016, I think at that time we saw more animals than this time, but this time we watched great show and some free playground equipments. Hope all the animals will healthy.
The Villa Carlotta museum houses one of the most renowned gardens in Italy. The garden was designed by Gian Battista Sommariva and is a reflection of reason surrounded by its more romantic counterpart, the flashy theater of the following century. The art collection inside the museum is renowned for its many works by famous artists such as Canova, David, and Throvaldsen.
Fantastic villa on the shore of Lake Como with stunning views across the lake from both the museum and the garden. This Villa contains superb gardens and an excellent museum of the villa itself. The museum is large with lots of room to move around. It also has lots of different rooms, art, artifacts and antiques to see but my favourite part was walking around the very large garden.
Well worth a visit

Brilliant place to visit. They have two routes around the lovely gardens, one not so steep, and one fairly steep. But it was worth it for the views of Lake Como. They have a reasonable cafe, inside and out, with again lovely views. The villa(the museum) was ok

Absolutely stunning! As a local even I was impressed by its absolutely beautiful gardens and the villa. The view is incredible and I have already been here several times and will always come back. It’s a 10/10 for me.

One of the best gardens I have ever visited! So beautiful and diverse!
Try going in the morning so you have more time exploring as the garden is pretty big. It also has picnic spots so it’s a great place to spend a day on when visiting lake como. Has fantastic lake views, the villa itself is gorgeous, but the garden is a botanical one with many cool plants. Has a bamboo jungle which is magical.
There’s free parking down the villa & there are elevators to take you up in the garden & upper floors of the villa, right outside of the villa in the south.
Absolutely recommend a visit, so worth the price (15€ adults)

One of the biggest and also most beautiful villas in the Lake Como area, with audio guides available and 2 suggested itineraries depending on whether you want a short walk around or a longer stroll in the garden.
Definitely worth the visit, for all ages. It was also made wheelchair-accessible by the gentle slopes and lifts.
Parking available along the road, both free and paid lots.

Beautiful Villa, beautiful gardens and a lovely walk on a perfect spring day. The cafe and toilets were open. I would recommend 2-3 hours for a leisure walk around the gardens before finishing at the museum (which ends in the villa and gift shop). We parked 400mtrs before reaching the villa in a paid parking place which we were lucky to get some space in. There are some decent restaurants and places to eat walking distance from the villa. There is a ferry stop across the villa and that takes you to Bellagio (another beautiful place which is a must visit).

We loved this place! The garden was amazing with different species from all over the world. So cool that they are able to thrive in Italy due to the microclimates around Lake Como. The villa had beautiful views of the lake and offered many opportunities for great photos. The café inside had a decent selection of food and drinks, although slightly overpriced.

Love it and hate it:) it was a great walk, very nice and scenic. Very poorly marked trying to exit. You need to really read the map as there is only one exit sign, and it's not at the exit. It is very confusing for most of the people there. Plan on about 4 hrs if you want to do the whole thing. There are signs that say 75 minutes for the full walk, maybe, probably not. Add an extra 30 minutes to find the exit. Think only 3 people work there, so you are on your own. Overall, it's a really great place with poor sinage.

Gorgeous house and gardens to visit. Lovely artefacts in the museum and sculptures.
The gardens are set in wonderful grounds, lots of it are not accessible for wheelchair users as it is very up and down.
Wonderful plants and flowers carefully set out with a waterfall running down the hillside. Great views from all angles and photo opportunities.
We visited on a very rainy day but this never spoilt our enjoyment.
Would recommend a half day visit. It has toilets and a coffee shop.

Beautiful villa with huge well kept garden. It has some old furniture dating back to the old times but also a collection of cutlery and crockery which don’t relate to the families who once lived there. In that respect villa Necchi in Milan is far more interesting. If you visit in the afternoon the sun has turned and you can take beautiful pictures from the balcony of the lake scenery.

Incredible villa. Is beautiful.
My partner and I went without a ticket and after less than 5 minutes in line, we entered. The garden is the most beautiful thing I saw. Very spacious, it takes 1 hour to explore it. Then the museum is also very good to know how those owners lived from centuries ago.

Villa Carlotta is such a beautiful and peaceful place. The vast garden with the numerous flowers is absolutely breathtaking and the museum (inside of the Villa) is spacious and very lightning. I thought the place was smaller and that the visit would have been shorter but you have to take at least 45 min to 1 hour for the short visit (main garden tour and museum) and 1 hour 30 min to 2 hours for the big visit with all the garden.
It is clean, not too crowdy and I believe that Spring time offers the best images with the colorful flowers and trees everywhere. Don't hesitate !
S?verine M — Google review
The grounds are nice, however not easy to walk with a child and not wheelchair or pushchair friendly.
The main floor of the house is worth a quick visit but the other floors are not. The rooms are tiny and filled with minimal artifacts and furniture.
Worth a visit if in the area but your not missing out on much if you view from the lake.
The gardens are impressive from the Napoleon era.

Villa Carlotta Gardens in Lake Como, Italy, is an absolute gem. The lush botanical paradise captivated me with its exquisite beauty. Strolling through the meticulously maintained gardens, I was surrounded by a stunning array of plants, flowers, and ancient trees. The view of Lake Como from the villa's terraces is simply breathtaking, providing a serene backdrop for a leisurely visit.
The historical significance of Villa Carlotta, with its art collection and charming villa, adds depth to the experience. I was particularly moved by the art and sculptures on display, which offered a glimpse into the rich history of this place.
Also nice: doga were allowed to enter the gardens for a nice family walk. The longest red route is about 1 hour.

Villa Carlotta is a lovely botanical garden with so many different varieties of plants. There is such diversity in the fauna and flora growing here. For example, they have a rhododendron section, a succulent and cactus garden, a fern garden, and so many others. The layout of this garden has been planned by a mastermind., and many walking past throughout the garden. The villa itself has beautiful architecture and art inside. A lovely little oasis right on the waterfront and very close to the water ferry drop off.
Forte Montecchio Nord is an open air museum that was a military stronghold during World War I. Visitors can take guided tours and enjoy views of Lake Como from the gun platform. The bilingual tour guides provide interesting information about the fort's history, including its indirect role in Mussolini's death. This attraction is perfect for history enthusiasts who want to learn more about military forts and their significance during wartime.

It's all right. Nothing to write home about. If you have relatives living inside the fortress and you're going to visit the, then by all means take a look at it.
The Tour guid(ess) was excellent and fluently made the tour bilingual in IT/EN.
Spoiler: in the end Mussolini dies. So one more star for the fort, that was indirectly resposible for it. At least according to the relatives, that live inside the fortress.

Remarkably well preserved fort with excellent views from the gun platform, only a short walk from Colico station. It has an interesting history and the wider conflict around a lesser well front (to me at least) of the First World War compared to the more widely known battles of the Western Front was also an eye opener.
Our guide was very knowledgeable, impressively conducting the tour in multiple languages whilst still finding time to accommodate each set of guests and answer questions.
When we visited you couldn't just roam the site freely, you had to join a tour, so check what times the tours run to avoid disappointment.
A wholly unexpected discovery in this region, definitely worth a visit.

Sacro Monte di Varese is a historical complex from the 17th century that boasts multiple chapels filled with art and frescoes. The uphill walk to the top may be tiring, but it can be done at your own pace while stopping to rest, take photos, and enjoy the view. The small village at the top is charming with its alleys and stone walls, offering a wonderful panoramic view. There are also museums to visit and restaurants with reasonable prices.
Winding mountain road from Varese, beautiful. Once at the top, park on the street (paid) and set yourself loose to explore this historical UNESCO city. Be generous with alloted time, you will need a few hours to go around. Lot of up and down hill walking, bring comfortable shoes.
Rafaele Fiorella — Google review
Beautiful place, nice walk, great view. It's a pity that we didn't really find a coffee or restaurant nearby the parking point (First Chapel).
I was happy that the church was open.
The statues inside the chapels are not easy to watch and there are no English texts.
N?ra T?gl?sy — Google review
Great walk uphill, I little tiring but you can definitely do it at your own pace, stopping at each point to rest, enjoy the view, take some photos and drink some water. But GO TO THE TOP. The small village at the top is the cutest with all the alleys and stone walls. Plus the view is just wonderful. I wasn't sooo lucky because there's a bit of fog, so I couldn't see as far, but it was definitely worth it. Might go back to visit the museums and try to get a clearer sky. Plus, the restaurants have really reasonable price (haven't tried any as I took my own lunch).
I'd say it takes at least 3 ro 4 hours to truly enjoy all that Sacro Monte offers, whitout the visit on the museums.

Great place to visit if you are around! The "Santuario di Santa Maria del Monte" church on top is a must see! The lack of parking spaces makes it a bit hard to visit. Also if you don't speak Italian it's quite a puzzle to figure out things. All in all; a great experience!
RH — Google review
Great but hidden unesco site that you should visit when in the neighbourhood. It concerns an unpaved road up the mountain which can only be walked. Along this secret way 12 chapels have been build. Each differently and inside being decorated with historical carved statues. It is a nice walk up and very calm and relaxing environment. Parking is a bit problematic but we finally managed to find a place.
Ewald Van Der Helm — Google review
Magical place. Follow a cobblestone path along many chapels, in each a depiction of Biblical stories though statues and fresco's. Not all the lights work in the chapels, which makes some art hard to see properly, but it's worth the walk uphill and pressing your head against the glass - especially if you think of the fact that all of these chapels were made in the 1600s. On the top of the hill, you are greeted by the lovely and storylike village of Santa Maria del Monte. There are a few free parking places at the foot of the Sacro Monte di Varese, but parking is reasonably scarce. The walk or "hike light" uphill is not too steep and very doable for anyone with okay condition, but might be challenging for people who have trouble walking up more than two flights of steps. Definitely worth the visit!
Santa Maria del Monte is also a great place to start a hike through the national park from, if you want more of a challenge.
Wanda Borter — Google review
So worth the walk up hills. Very interesting and surprising. Be care if you want to go in Santa Maria del monte church as no short shorts or vest style tops. There is a gift shop up there too. The village is interesting and pretty

Great walk in the Varese neighbourhood with 14 chapels up to the 'Sacro Monte di Varese'.
It is a nice walk, that you can decide to take from the bottom to the top as a pilgrim for atonement. If you are less fit, you can decide to start the visit from the top and visit the chapels in the opposite order (if you came by car, a bus would bring you back to the top).
It is not easy to see the interior of each chapel, but you will see more clearly on your mobile phone screen, if you put your device on the window glass of each chapel. Definitely a beautiful walk and a moment to think immersed in a nice environment.

Very beautiful panoramic view, the amaizing 14 architecture capellas related to Christian religion, with sculpture installations inside, you can even press the button and turn on the lights inside the installation!) Beautiful place for quiet reflection, and a peaceful walk.
Amazing view of the surrounding areas too.
Would make sure that you are surefooted, and probably not suited for a pram unless it’s a Thule buggy or similar as the cobblestones are quite large.
There is also limited parking facilities, so would suggest trying to visit at non peak times too.

We had the most amazing time visiting Sacro Monte. We were so fortunate to meet a guide who acted as a tour guide for us, his name was Vittorio Valenta. We asked if he had a map and he told us all about the churches and took us to a few. We would have viewed the chapels and enjoyed the experience. But Vittorio made the whole experience come alive with his knowledge and enthusiasm. We have a 12, 10 and 8 year old who hung on every word he said. We can’t thank him enough. We were hoping to say thank you on our way out but he was busy doing exactly the same for another family. Thank you Vittorio it was a highlight of our visit. Gina and Joe (Cardiff, Wales).

We loved the park; clean with amazing nature and greenery. The city is nice as well, but too expensive for tourists. Peaceful place where you can find the fantastic natural sightseeing just in front of the lugano lake and San Salvatore mountain. Mostly you would be there for a couple of hours just before you realize that time flew and you have been there for hours. The Acquafraggia Waterfalls in Italy are absolutely breathtaking! The pristine natural beauty and the soothing sound of cascading water create a serene and refreshing atmosphere. It's a perfect spot for nature lovers and a must-visit destination for anyone traveling through this picturesque region.

Great waterfalls with fresh cool water and even the air is cool. 3 EUR is the entrance fee but maybe from the other side of the river it is free. You surely will want to go into the water and you can but it is chilly cold. There are parking places around and Chiavenna is quite close. Plus you can make several hiking tours to the higher mountains and one or two mountain villages.

The waterfall is incredible. Very nice photos up and down. The price is 3 euros, although not clear what they charge for?! There is a route to the waterfall top, but this can be reached from aside, no need to pay.

Must see when in the area. The top of the waterfall is spectacular but a steep climb. Not for the faint hearted/smokers.

Awesome! Just wonderful. BUT
You must pay to visit it, which is very confusing honestly since it no-one property, i' m giving 5stars to the waterfalls itself. Averting is clean though.
Isola Madre is the largest of the Borromean Islands located in Lake Maggiore. It features a stunning botanical garden and a 16th-century palace that can be explored on a guided tour. The gardens are home to peacocks and other birds, adding to its tranquil atmosphere. Visitors can also explore the nearby Isola dei Pescatori, known for its traditional village, and Isola Bella with its impressive Palazzo Borromeo.
Very beautiful well-maintained palace and garden. There are also great lake views, ponds, and a good cafe.

A beautiful, well maintained island with an amazing garden and i really loved the Pallazo. It was rather quiet to, not to many tourists as on the other Borromean islands. I can only recommend it.

Lovely island in the middle of lake Maggiore which is a perfect example of how humans and nature can live together. The palace itself it's a great example of the Italian baroque. While the garden showcases many varieties of exotic plants and flowers. One of the most impressive is the Japanese cypressum behind the villa. I really loved also the peacocks and the fagians strolling around the park and used to the human presence

It was the first island that we went to in our day-trip. The weather was nice and the environment was really pleasant.
The view was really nice and the air was fresh. It is a small island and it takes you little time to run through all the island. The gardens were pretty nice and the birds and peacocks gave a nice touch to it. The only thing that was a bit of a disappointment was the palace, which was kind of meh (not that interesting). We later sat down and sunbathed while chit-chatting, a good company makes everything much better :)

Isola Madre, at 220 m wide and 330 m long, is the largest island of the Isole Borromee archipelago which falls within the Italian part of the Alpine Lake Maggiore, in the Province of Verbano Cusio Ossola, Piedmont. The island is occupied by a number of buildings and architectural structures and is especially well known for its gardens. In the past it was known as Isola di San Vittore and later as Isola Maggiore. The available historical sources indicate that in the middle of the ninth century the island had a church, a cemetery (whose existence is recalled by the current garden's so-called 'scala dei morti', or 'Staircase of the Dead'). It is known for certain that olives were cultivated here; the produce may have been employed for sacred purposes. In 1501 Lancillotto Borromeo, one of the five children of Giovanni III Borromeo and Cleofe Pio di Carpi, introduced the cultivation of citrus fruit to the island, the plants being brought from Liguria, along with a gardener (or hortolano) to tend them. Lancillotto began the construction of the family residence on the island, which in the 1580s was extended in the Renaissance style by Renato I Borromeo. The Palazzo Borromeo was built in the sixteenth century on the remains of the early church, cemetery and perhaps castle of San Vittore (named after the martyr Victor Maurus).

A beautiful garden to visit. Enjoyed the birds, and the palace has some interesting rooms to see. But found it a bit overpriced vs. Isola Bella or Villa Taranto. A useful tip: come to visit by the closing hours, after 16h, so you avoid the crowds on the boats, and no waiting lines when you leave the island.

Falconeria Locarno is a lush park that showcases shows and demonstrations featuring an array of raptors such as eagles, hawks, vultures and more. The exhibition offers an opportunity for visitors to witness these magnificent birds flying very close, sometimes even right next to them. For the best chance at having a bird placed on you, wear a cap and be prepared to take photos quickly. Kids can also enjoy pony rides after the show.
Beautiful show. Kids really enjoyed it.
Birds are flying very close, sometimes next to you.
If you want to get a chance that they put a bird on you - wear a cap. And be ready to take pictures - it is just few seconds.
Kids can ride a pony after the show.

The show was amazing and super engaging. Even though the narrative was only in Italian and German (and I speak neither), it didn’t make it any less fun.
Highly recommended for adults, teenagers, and kids!

The show is an amazing experience!! Don't lose that.
The zoo is nice but during the show you have the experience to see all animals flying freely
P.s. come with a hat and you could have a chance to have an eagle landing on you
P.p.s they are pretty friendly

Amazing show. Learned a lot about the history of falconry, and enjoyed the birds from a very near distance (had one even on my head). Highly recommended half day trip! Also, the pizza in the bistro tasted fantastic and was very reasonably priced.

Classic falconeria, if you're looking for a more interactive experience than just your average zoo, this is fantastic. Great performances, horse riding, eagle & owl holding with photos available too, super cool place & a must visit.

Indeed many (large) birds flying around (some even over your head) during the show. Definitely worth attending.
Note it can quite wet in case of rain as tents over tribunes don't do their job well.

Pricey for what it is. We came 10min earlier off-season and all the good seats in the shade where already taken. We sat at the side and therefore barely saw the birds.

Great place to spend 45 minutes birds live show, and take picture from very short distance of birds, real fun and instructive informations for adults and childrens, a lovely place to enjoy a brunch and drinks
Picturesque valley featuring mountain trails with overnight huts & a dam with bungee jumping.
You will be amazed by beauty of the valley with turquoise river running through, old rural villages dotted around. This destination suit both romantics and adventurers, unforgettable!
Natasha Korol — Google review
True, this is a lovely steep mountain valley with a river tumbling through it and the occasional waterfall coming from a side valley. Its easy accessibility brings some spoiles though. There is the rather busy road running all along the valley on or just above the river banks. There are the crowds coming up the valley to see the sights. Then there are the parking lots at the sights-to-see, which fill up quickly during the day. There's only parking at these lots, everything else is private property, which also makes part of the valley floor inaccessible for the general public. A hiking path runs all along the valley, but the road is never far away. The upper part of the valley is more scenic than the lower part, with crowds thinning out after the famous Roman bridge. We appreciated this part of the valley best. Sonogne at the head of the valley is beautifully situated and a good place for walks in a less spoiled atmosphere. An overnight stay at Familienhotel Campagna just before the end of the valley is recommended, nice scenery, good food and very friendly owners.

Large, dramatic waterfall cascading down a wide rock face in a scenic, serene valley.
Impressive waterfall and the surrounding plateau enclosed in a circle of peaks and ridges. Very suggestive when covered in snow. Lendas itself to hiking and alpine skiing, as well as leisurely times. Easily reached by car which makes it toddlers and elderly friendly as a bonus. Worth the visit and a go at the Restaurant 'Le Alpi' that offers a variety of very good local foods and a superlative 'fil de fer', a piedmontese answer to eggnog, warm and topped with whipped-cream.

Titlis is a renowned mountain peak that boasts of various attractions including the world's first cable car, skiing area, suspension bridge, and glacier caves. Although it can only be accessed by car, it provides a cheaper alternative to Pilatus or Tiltis especially for those without the Swiss Travel Pass. Visitors can take advantage of the CHF13 two-way lift or CHF10 one-way offer to explore this beautiful attraction from 9:30 AM to 6 PM.
This was my third visit to Switzerland, but the very first to Mt. Titlis.
In one word this was the most amazing experience from our 8 day Swiss tour.
Best to visit Mt. Titlis is from Lucerne, as it is only around 30-45 min drive from there.
When reaching Engelberg there're several big parking lots, with a flat day fee of 10 CHF. From here the adventure starts.
You change two cable cars to reach the summit at 3.000 meters. The second rotating cable car is a masterpiece.
Once up you think you're on top of the world - unseen beauty of Alpine peaks all around you from the viewing terrace.
Two outstanding attractions are included in your entry ticket - the Glacier cave walk in an ice tunnel and terrific suspended bridge walk outside.
Make sure to visit the Trubsee middle cable car station, as there's a beautiful walk around the lake. You can do it on your way up or down with the same ticket.
Count on around 3-4 hrs for a proper visit without transport time from your location.
TIPS:
1. Buy your ticket online via Getyourguide - they were around 20% cheaper than on the official site and at the counter.
2. Doublecheck the weather before you go, if it's cloudy there's hardly no point going

I had the time of my life here. Located at 10,500 feet above the sea level, it's one of the most sought after tourist destination in Switzerland. Take a train ride to Engelberg and then continue with the cable car rides. In the end enjoy the slow rotating Gondola. The mountains are covered in snow and make for an amazing view.
People who enjoy skiing can do ski here. The famous movie ddlj posters are also here. And of course a walk to the highest suspension bridge is an awesome experience.

Beautiful mountain with spectacular views. The ride to the top of the mountain is amazing ! There are 2 types of cable cars. First one is normal with 6-8 person capacity. Second one is a big one and is a revolving cable Car which gives everyone a 360 degree panoramic view of the mountains. There is also an additional open cable Car which is super fun there are several activities at the top to do and visit. Ice caves, skywalk bridge, open cable Car etc. There are restaurants at the top which serve variety of food from Indian to European. The ticket of the cable car up and down is 96 CHF and can be bought at the counter below. Summer season is usually crowded. There are plenty of car and bus parking spaces available at the foot of the mountain. Must visit !!

One of the best activities for the family during summer. Titlis is a very interesting place where the snow covers the mountain, everyone is playing with the snow while temperatures are reasonably low..
Waiting ques is long and can take up to 1 hour...
Again, you will face another que at the cable cars especially if you are late..
I prefer to purchase tickets in advance..
Parking lot is available and you have to pay...
Usually, it will take you 2 to 3 hours to have a proper visit... Other people take 2 days instead of one especially when you do hiking....
Opens from 9 am till 5 pm...
I would say it's cheaper than top of Europe....
Best to go there before mid June as these years temperatures are going high during summer..

Located at 1.5 hours drive away to North from Zurich city. It is one of the best visiting points in Switzerland. There are multiple options to reach the 1st level of the mount Titlis. Via fennicular or by cable car. Fennicular may not drop you to the top, while via cable car, you can easily visit top through different levels.
84 Euros or 100 USD ticket can be used at cable cars, roatator, and Galacier cave as well.
There are multiple cafes at different levels of mount Titlis.
I would really recommend you to have coffee there.

Mount Titlis is also one of the scenic spots in the Alps, with an altitude of more than 3,000 meters. Cable cars are mainly used as transportation.
Although they are all cable cars, they are different in space. The latest cable car is the first in the world, it can accommodate 80 people, and it rotates 360 degrees. All the beautiful scenery can be seen from all angles. It does not take much time to climb to the top and enjoy the amazing views.
Feel the stunning scenery. There are souvenir shops and restaurants on the top of the mountain for tourists to enjoy delicious food and beautiful scenery. It is a very popular tourist ski resort!

Alpamare
Water park
Nature & Parks
Water park complex with indoor & outdoor pools, giant slides & spa with sauna & massage treatments.
to be honest, I don't get why a low score. Yes, it is super expensive even by Swiss standards. And it's a bit crowded and noisy, but it's a park for family and kids.
It is a decent place with 12 slides (probably one of the biggest indoor waterpark in Europe, definitely the one we have been to). The toddler area is also big and with its own slides. The sauna place is nice and quiet too. But some limitations to keep in mind.
Bill ZHANG — Google review
Had a very good experience. Best Toddler‘s area so far! However, it would be great if they could open up the sauna/quiet area for small kids especially the ones that are sleeping. Aquabasilea allows even babies in their sauna and quiet areas. Surely, Alpamare could also make this happen. 😉
L P — Google review
One of the greatest aquapark I have visited. The slides are very enjoyable even for adults, and outside pools are hot enough to comfortably swim there with temperatures bellow zero. But on one of the slides I was sliding on my back with my legs legs up (which is forbidden though), and one of my leg hit the upper barrier in one of the outside turns, which kinda scared me and my leg hurts today, but that's mainly cause of my stupidity. Would give 5/5 if there were higher barriers in curves of the slides.
Ondra Mastik — Google review
What an experience! The staff are lovely, and the slides are amazing. There is a good range of slides available for all levels of thrill seekers. Beware, the cobra and the jungle are serious slides for experienced sliders only. You should put your hands around your head for the cobra. The wellness spa is also lit! The sauna rituals are very relaxing and you can tell the staff are experts. I can only recommend. You also get a 30% discount for Kulturlegi!

We had an overall great experience here. Since we went on a Monday the slides were not overcrowded yet.
Outdoor bathing zone:
+ Clean and warm water temperature.
+ The wave pool and other water experiences started on time.
Slides and hallways:
+ Rich selection of fun slides
- Very slippery floors
- Some slides were closed for half the day without notice. Good, we had the day pass.
Restaurant:
+ Can pay normally or by putting the charge on the wristband used for entry.
+ Nice personnel
+/- Decent food options. The lower restaurant closed at 13:00.
Shower and bathrooms:
+ Quite clean
+ Multiple showers with warm water

Absolutely loved Alpamare. Yes, it’s expensive, but not compared to other Swiss prices. Slides were great fun, more than enough tubes and not too much queue’s. Everything tidy and clean and the restaurant has healthy choices. One thing though: they should make transparent slide, to be able to enjoy the adjacent Lake Zürich.

Much better than the last time we visited (cleaner in particular and felt better maintained). Good variety of rides and pools for all ages of kids. A lot of stairs to get around. A bit on the pricey side especially for younger kids.

We enjoyed our visit here. We were lucky to go here on a weekday, so we almost had the place to ourselves. Many slides, and they were all great fun. Everything very clean. Our kids with ages 8 and 5 also enjoyed it very much.
Jort de Vreeze — Google review
In 2008 this was a clean, well run facility with healthy food and well trained staff. It was a refreshing change to visit a water park where health and safety was parked at the door and dangerously fun slides could be enjoyed.
Today, none of the above applies except the omission of health and safety, however the poor maintenance introduces an unnecessary risk not designed into the original rides. The whole facility requires a full refurbishment or rebuild.
Paul Allen — Google review
This waterpark is amazing. It has amazing slides (the best selection in Europe IMO), good pools, toilets, showers and changing rooms. Everything was very clean and the slide that apparently had mold has been renovated. On my previous visits I also had no problems with the hygiene, no idea why that’s included in the recent reviews. I even saw a news article about it. This Waterpark does not deserve only 3.4 stars.
Also, buy your tickets in advance. There’s a 25% discount for 4 hour tickets and 30% for day tickets.

Had a great time
Got in after 6 PM and only paid 33.- CHF and a extra 6.- Francs for the wellness area.
3 or 4 saunas and there are special saunas with „Aufguss“.
Small fitness Center is included in the wellness area.
3 or 4 different bath outside that are 31 to 33 Celsius.
And about 6 watersides and 2 of em are actually tricky even if your in good shape.
Recommend Alpamare if your near it or on rainy day
Cheers

We took our toddler who loves slides because he usually cannot use the slides in europe due to age and/or size restrictions. He also absolutely loves water :) The slides you can have with small kids are nicely described (you see two people sliding or it says the parent has to lie but the kid can sit).
However the toddler area totally needs investment. Currently in aquaparks the toddler areas have soft and grippy floor (a bit similar as on playground) on the whole space, EVERYWHERE! Here however there are only rubber mats on the pathways and most of the floor is a slippery toddler danger. There are cool toddler devices but if your baby wants to have fun they will end up slipping and hurting themselves. The same with the toddler pool, the sides of it are plastic and a huge danger for the babies. Moreover some sprinkle devices inside the todller pool have probably seen their better times and will never be fixed (i.e. the turtle). This cannot be because toddlers do not follow the path but want to run around, and this is supposed to be a place for them.
I also tried the slides without the toddler, and I must say, they are tiptop, the most difficult cobra and the jungle run gave me enough grown up thrill to be really happy :)
A popular destination for tourists, Lake Lucerne is the fourth-largest lake in Switzerland and offers boat trips with stunning views of the surrounding mountains. The well-preserved old town situated right on the lake adds to its allure, making it a must-visit place for alpine scenery enthusiasts. To fully explore this compact city, it's recommended to spend a whole day on foot. The train station located in the city center provides easy access to all parts of Lucerne via public transport.
Passed by around this lake to prepare Boat to Mountain Pilatus, everything was good, but unfortunately the cable car isnot working that day

This lake and this area in general, is very scenic and relaxing. The water was placid and tranquil as well. It offers nice views of the surrounding city of Luzern and it's mountains. I recommend taking a boat tour of the lake. It is an hour long with one stop round trip. Definitely worth seeing and pretty hard to avoid if you visit Luzern.
Phillip Soto — Google review
It is stunning, with a backdrop of mountains and punctuated by little towns, villages and settlements along the coastline. The water is pristine and often changes colour.
Better still, if you're heading to the Gotthard Panorama Express, catch the paddle steamer all the way to Fluelen, a trip of about 2.75 hours and the scenery just gets better and better (have your camera ready). If that is what you are doing, then you can book your luggage through to the train at the departure point in Luzern, so you don't have to worry about carrying it on board.
Narender Kumar — Google review
Best place to be visited during all season. Super combination of mountains along with lakes and also boat rides makes it complete package.
Debjit Ghosh — Google review
Sailed from Lucerne to Flüelen on the Uri, Europe's oldest paddle steamer. The 100 year old boat is in the best possible conditions and offers all amenities with a flair of the grand old times. The panoramic boat ride lasts around 2:45 h, in early October there was a fresh breeze so bring warm cloth if you plan to stay outside. The upper deck is beautifully sunny, but other areas more wind protected. The morning fog soon lifted and views opened, so don't be deterred if the morning looks gloomy. The restaurant serves food and drink, but nobody minds if you bring your own either. Indoors there are information panels and one can watch the steam engine in full action. It looks as shiny and new as it started operations yesterday, not 100 years ago.

Lake Lucerne is surrounded by beautiful mountains, picturesque villages and the Old town which makes the cruise through the lake an enjoyable experience.
We took the boat from Luzern Bahnhofquai to Kehrsiten - Burgenstock and back which took around an hour.
The trip was very relaxing. You can immerse yourself in the calmness of lake Lucerne and enjoy the sights of the floating swans, the majestic snow covered mountains, the green meadows with village houses popping up and the regal structures of the Old town.

One of the most beautiful spots on earth Lake Lucerne us a must in one's bucket list when they visit Switzerland 🇨🇭. Lake Lucerne is a lake in central Switzerland and the fourth largest in the country.Several spa and bathing resorts such as Weggis or Gersau are available here,Different sports are possible in some separate areas due to the water and wind conditions. The lake is accessible from boat and yacht harbors, to lake resorts and pools. There are about ten places where you can dive without a boat in Lake Lucerne. The water is rather chilly all year round and therefore mostly very clear

We took the train from Zurich to Lucerne. It was a beautiful summer day, and I was wearing my favorite cotton high-top shoes. From Lucerne, we boarded a boat that crossed the lake toward Alpnachstad station. From there, we would take the train up the mountain to the top. Lake Lucerne shimmered in the bright sunlight as we sliced through the crystalline waves. While I twisted in my seat to get a better look at the landscape, I shifted my feet, turning them left, then right. My ankles were sore, but I couldn’t figure out why.

This lake is worth your time and effort to get there. It is super peaceful and beautiful to watch. It takes 20-30 minuten to het there by walking after the cable car, but it’s definitely worth the while.

Mount Pilatus is a prominent mountain peak in Switzerland that boasts of sweeping views, a restaurant, and a hotel accessible through cable cars, gondolas, and railways. It can be reached via the Golden Round Trip which provides an unforgettable experience of the Swiss Alps. Visitors staying in Lucerne can easily commute to Mount Pilatus via public trains or by renting a car from Zurich Airport.
Number 1 attraction in Luzern... 360 view is breathtaking.. you can see all lakes around..
Be careful last gondola is at 16:30...

The views from the top is just breathtaking. So easily reachable from Lucerne town centre. We went up the cable car and down via the steepest tram. Everywhere you look is so awe inspiring. Beautiful!

The visibility can be tricky due to the clouds so I would advise go a little bit later during the day. The cart all the way up (return) was around 70 e per person.
There is a parking near by that cost us 5 euro for 5 hours.
There are restaurants all the way up. We took fries, coke and pretzel for total of 17e
The hill itself has few small hikes around the peak which is great.
It is possible to hike all the way up or down from the peak.

Wonderful place with a fantastic scenery. A lot of short (but steep) trails and beautiful climb up by the cable car. Take the time to visit the area half way up. It provides a different and nice angle.
It is better to take some snacks and drinks with you since the food and drink prices at the shops are as high as the mountain itself.

The views when we went up on the cog-wheel train were absolutely stunning, and I really enjoyed them. But when we reached the top, some clouds came and covered the great views. However, even with the clouds, it was still an amazing experience that I'll remember.

The view is extraordinary. Worth going if don't mind the high cost of the transportation up to the peak.
The transport is calm a clean and nice view through the entire way (depends the weather)
Not too much activity up there, after 1 hour had enough view and hot chocolate rest.

What an amazing experience. From my travelling experience, what makes Switzerland better than most countries is the infrastructure. You go the most remote locations and you will find trains, trams, buses and shops. Plus, very rarely do you not get phone reception. Amazing experience for a weekend.

Mount Pilatus was only white fog for us. There was a tonne of crowd with us waiting for the clouds to go away! But the ride up the gondola and the view is beautiful. The fun thing is that we can get down at any of the stops and hike up or down as per our choice. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in the clouds above, it felt like we were in heaven 😂, everything was blanket white. We hiked down a few kilometres till the last gondola stop. And the walk is steep but very very scenic. If you have the will and stamina, walk down a bit. It’s absolutely beautiful valley and the views are amazing 😍

We took the cable car up and cogwheel train down. This way we avoided the big crowd. We also missed the best ferry schedule so we went back to Luzern, visited the museum and then we took a evening cruise to Weggis. It was a perfect day spent in Luzern.

It was one of the best trips we’ve had in Switzerland. There are different routes to do it, we chose to go with the boat from Luzern, then the funicular up the mountain and then the gondola and cable car down to Kriens and the bus back to Luzern - it was absolutely brilliant. Took a total of 5 - 5.5 hours from the moment we got on the boat. It is recommended to reserve a time slot for the cogwheel train otherwise you would need to wait more.

Picturesquare views from the top. Price from Kulm to Pilatus and back was 62 CHF, but it really pays off. I was at the beginning of march, aby 0 degrees on top, and wind. Not crowded, but I expect it is in high season. In Kulm you can find parking, 5 CHF for whole day, so not too expensive. I definitely recommed to visit Pilatus if you are in Switzerland.

The view from the pick is absolutely stunning! The round trip ticket with the cable car cost 78 CHF. I went on Sunday so the line for taking the gondola was huge. I waited 30-40 min in the line despite the fact that I had an online ticket purchased before.
You should consider 2-3 hours at the peak of the mountain. There are several points to eat, souvenir
and Swiss watches shops and restaurants.
Don't forget to wear comfy clothes and shoes, otherwise it will be difficult to hike.
The Chapel Bridge in Lucerne is a wooden bridge that spans the Reuss River. It is one of the oldest covered bridges in Europe, and it is named after nearby St. Peter's Chapel. The octagonal water tower, built in the early 14th century, is the city's most photographed landmark.
Beautiful place for sightseeing. The old wooden bridge has a sad history but pretty to look at. One can easily roam the entire city and admire the old Town architecture.
The lake has many swans and ducks swimming, it's very cute. Do take a walk in the bridge.

The oldest bridge in Europe. You can read the historical facts online or follow one of the many walking tours available to grasp its significance.
This bridge provides a different architecture scene compared to its surrounding. Yet it does not seem out of place. Rather, it elevates the scenery as one of the most picturesque in Luzerne.
There are tons of alfresco dining available around the area which allows you to enjoy the scenery while eating and drinking.
Because of its popularity with tours and tourists, this bridge can be very crowded and will be difficult to navigate.

It's gorgeous and it's for free. What's not to like? It's worth noting there are stairs involved so there are some potential accessibility issues if you are not so mobile or have a stroller with you (like we did). Wasn't too busy when we visited (end of winter) but I can see this bridge getting packed with tourists during more popular times.

We visited world's oldest truss bridge today and happily ticked one item off our bucket list. This bridge restored after a fire in the 90s still has some of the original paintings left in it. It's at the centre of town connecting the two banks and looks wonderful with the water tower beside it.

The Lion Monument is a significant tourist attraction in Lucerne, Switzerland. It depicts a lion carved out of natural sandstone rock, which appears to be dying from being impaled by a broken spear. The monument was built to honor Swiss mercenaries who lost their lives while defending King Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette during the attack on Tuileries Palace in 1792.

The Lion Monument is a truly captivating piece of art that embodies deep emotion and historical significance. Carved into the rock face, this monument depicts a dying lion, a powerful symbol of courage and sacrifice. The intricacy of the sculpture's details, from the texture of the lion's fur to the facial expressions, is simply remarkable. The setting, surrounded by a tranquil pond and lush vegetation, adds to the monument's impact, creating a reflective and solemn atmosphere. Visiting the Lion Monument is an experience that evokes contemplation about the past and pays homage to the fallen soldiers it honors.

Very nice facilities, beautiful paths. Quite a lot to see and can take a while going around this place. Several gastronomic facilities, a places to eat inside (very interesting Thai corner).
It is very good organize and friendly for the kids. There is so many playground inside, real fun for the kids.
Just a small remark is that there are usually no parking spaces nearby, the host provided enough parking spaces some 1.2 km away from the ZOO itself and organized a shuttle bus that transports visitors to the ZOO and back.
And you can use public transport, both the bus and the tram itself.

Really nice Zoo, we went there after lunchtime (15:00) and there were no queues and it was super quick to get in.
The park was not too crowded at this time either, which in turn gave us a really nice experience as well.
I think this may be the reason many of the animals did not hide, so it was nice to be able to see so many of them!
After we walked through the full park, we treated ourselves a mini-safari-train back!

This is a wonderful place, but it’s probably better to call it not a zoo, but a natural park where there are animals. Of course, I understand everything perfectly well, animals need space, they need a natural environment, but half of the animals are not visible because they are hiding... but in principle, honestly, I was satisfied today

There is a spacious area outside where you can sit and have a drink and a bite. The fries were very tasty.
Be aware of the crowd if you want to visit during the weekends!

Spectacular view and animal assortment. Good food too if needed and a lot of places to rest/drink. Be aware: to visit it all by feet will require around 4hours.

Easy to get there with the tram. No waiting times if you order and print your tickets in advance. Nice, clean and good cared. Great areas for animals and visitors. Beautiful and interesting new buildings. Even on a rainy day nice to visit.

Very good place for a day out. It has a massive indoor Rain forrest. A lot of good animal sanctuaries in the zoo. Most of the animals are living in a huge natural open environment. Only the penguins felt like they are in a prison. Overall a good zoo.

Great place to visit. Was worried about parking as I visited on a Saturday but this was very well organised and lots of spaces.
The attractions are great. Had to revise our route due to the car park we parked at and entering the park at a side entrance (hint this was much less busy than the main entrance).
My favourites were the elephants and gorillas. The gift shops and restaurants were good to.
Highly recommended. 5*****

Despite winter time we really enjoyed the day in Zoo.
Highlight was for us Penguin Parade at 13:30. It can be seen daily from November to February on days when temperature drop below 10 degrees. To be sure it is better to check on Zoo's website.
Some of the animals were hidden or sleeping, but I was surprised how many of them we saw outside despite freezing weather.
If you buy tickets online you get a small discount and you will avoid a queue at the cash desk.

One of the best zoo’s ever. Great to go in the winter as most exhibits are indoors and heated. Animals look VERY healthy and there are plenty of activities outside the exhibits like a cinematic panoramic presentation near the exit and an occasional llama/donkey parade.
Even if you’re not in to animals, if you wanna break from the cold Rainey days the indoor exhibits are a winter tropical vacation!

great to go with family, kids, friends or even for a daye with your partner!
the staff is very friendly and ready to help you learn about the animals and their habitats.
this zoo really makes you see how animals can be happy and preservation ensured, while also giving us the opportunity to see species from all over the world.
(big plus are also the amenities such as restaurants and fun activities all around)
looking forward to the new projects!

Great Zoo, for both education and leasure. You have the big exotics, like giraffes, elephants, gorillas, lions, tigers, zebras, and the most decent aquarium in Zürich. Lots to see and explore, not to mention the Masoala which is worth a trip of its own. They recreated a whole piece of Madagascar!

It's big but expensive. There were a lot of empty enclosures, which is a shame for what we paid. Also first time ever I got to be so close to the giraffes! Also half the park is under construction until 2025 (lion area)
