Nature & Parks
The Villa Carlotta museum houses one of the most renowned gardens in Italy. The garden was designed by Gian Battista Sommariva and is a reflection of reason surrounded by its more romantic counterpart, the flashy theater of the following century. The art collection inside the museum is renowned for its many works by famous artists such as Canova, David, and Throvaldsen.
Fantastic villa on the shore of Lake Como with stunning views across the lake from both the museum and the garden. This Villa contains superb gardens and an excellent museum of the villa itself. The museum is large with lots of room to move around. It also has lots of different rooms, art, artifacts and antiques to see but my favourite part was walking around the very large garden. Well worth a visit

Brilliant place to visit. They have two routes around the lovely gardens, one not so steep, and one fairly steep. But it was worth it for the views of Lake Como. They have a reasonable cafe, inside and out, with again lovely views. The villa(the museum) was ok

Absolutely stunning! As a local even I was impressed by its absolutely beautiful gardens and the villa. The view is incredible and I have already been here several times and will always come back. It’s a 10/10 for me.
Aemilius Prinz — Google review
One of the best gardens I have ever visited! So beautiful and diverse! Try going in the morning so you have more time exploring as the garden is pretty big. It also has picnic spots so it’s a great place to spend a day on when visiting lake como. Has fantastic lake views, the villa itself is gorgeous, but the garden is a botanical one with many cool plants. Has a bamboo jungle which is magical. There’s free parking down the villa & there are elevators to take you up in the garden & upper floors of the villa, right outside of the villa in the south. Absolutely recommend a visit, so worth the price (15€ adults)
Gazella — Google review
One of the biggest and also most beautiful villas in the Lake Como area, with audio guides available and 2 suggested itineraries depending on whether you want a short walk around or a longer stroll in the garden. Definitely worth the visit, for all ages. It was also made wheelchair-accessible by the gentle slopes and lifts. Parking available along the road, both free and paid lots.
Li Ze Chai — Google review
Beautiful Villa, beautiful gardens and a lovely walk on a perfect spring day. The cafe and toilets were open. I would recommend 2-3 hours for a leisure walk around the gardens before finishing at the museum (which ends in the villa and gift shop). We parked 400mtrs before reaching the villa in a paid parking place which we were lucky to get some space in. There are some decent restaurants and places to eat walking distance from the villa. There is a ferry stop across the villa and that takes you to Bellagio (another beautiful place which is a must visit).

Very enchanting place that you could spend either a quick visit or all day; so much to experience and it’s all stunningly beautiful
Ian Peter Atkins — Google review
We loved this place! The garden was amazing with different species from all over the world. So cool that they are able to thrive in Italy due to the microclimates around Lake Como. The villa had beautiful views of the lake and offered many opportunities for great photos. The café inside had a decent selection of food and drinks, although slightly overpriced.
Carmelle Valles — Google review
Love it and hate it:) it was a great walk, very nice and scenic. Very poorly marked trying to exit. You need to really read the map as there is only one exit sign, and it's not at the exit. It is very confusing for most of the people there. Plan on about 4 hrs if you want to do the whole thing. There are signs that say 75 minutes for the full walk, maybe, probably not. Add an extra 30 minutes to find the exit. Think only 3 people work there, so you are on your own. Overall, it's a really great place with poor sinage.
Jim Villano — Google review
Gorgeous house and gardens to visit. Lovely artefacts in the museum and sculptures. The gardens are set in wonderful grounds, lots of it are not accessible for wheelchair users as it is very up and down. Wonderful plants and flowers carefully set out with a waterfall running down the hillside. Great views from all angles and photo opportunities. We visited on a very rainy day but this never spoilt our enjoyment. Would recommend a half day visit. It has toilets and a coffee shop.
HELEN CLEMENTS — Google review
Beautiful villa with huge well kept garden. It has some old furniture dating back to the old times but also a collection of cutlery and crockery which don’t relate to the families who once lived there. In that respect villa Necchi in Milan is far more interesting. If you visit in the afternoon the sun has turned and you can take beautiful pictures from the balcony of the lake scenery.
Is beautiful. My partner and I went without a ticket and after less than 5 minutes in line, we entered. The garden is the most beautiful thing I saw. Very spacious, it takes 1 hour to explore it. Then the museum is also very good to know how those owners lived from centuries ago.
María Belén Montañés — Google review
One of the most gorgeous villa on the Como lake. Fully suggest to all the tourist in order to spend a lovely afternoon. Best timing is in spring when all the gardens are full of flowers
manuel mandaglio — Google review
A memorable visit with stunning & immaculate gardens, and very well-signposted walking routes throughout the property with different options of different lengths. The house itself was impressive, but the gardens and views of the lake are the reason to visit. Would strongly recommend to anyone in the area!
Adam P — Google review
Beautiful house surrounded by gardens that seem to go on forever. Lovely, well laid out walks, that go from manicured to wild, but always jaw dropping in their beauty. Would love to visit again.
Brendan Rowe — Google review
Villa Carlotta is such a beautiful and peaceful place. The vast garden with the numerous flowers is absolutely breathtaking and the museum (inside of the Villa) is spacious and very lightning. I thought the place was smaller and that the visit would have been shorter but you have to take at least 45 min to 1 hour for the short visit (main garden tour and museum) and 1 hour 30 min to 2 hours for the big visit with all the garden. It is clean, not too crowdy and I believe that Spring time offers the best images with the colorful flowers and trees everywhere. Don't hesitate !
S?verine M — Google review
The grounds are nice, however not easy to walk with a child and not wheelchair or pushchair friendly. The main floor of the house is worth a quick visit but the other floors are not. The rooms are tiny and filled with minimal artifacts and furniture. Worth a visit if in the area but your not missing out on much if you view from the lake. The gardens are impressive from the Napoleon era.
Shiv P — Google review
The botanical garden is pretty and has some beautiful views. I was expecting to see a little but more, but it was very nice. Definitely wear sneakers, as there are a lot of rocks you will be walking on. It's right next to the Grand Hotel Tremezzo, so it's a very short walk and convenient.
Jennifer — Google review
Great museum and garden, spread over several Acres it’s entirely possible to spend a chilled day here! You should however allow three hours of you want to see it at its best! Live the gardens, with the huge water feature, well kept lawns, trees and shrubbery! The house is also great, lots of rooms and history! A great place if you are a fan of gardens and history!
Spencer Hawken — Google review
We've been here several times photographing couples and we've always been impressed by the beautiful gardens and the elegant elements of the interiors. It really is a great combo of both. Super easy to reach by car or ferry, quite cheap and with a great number of different backgrounds for pictures. Yes, book your photoshoot here without doubting!

Amazing gardens, perfectly kept. We went on a rainy day and it was still beautiful and inside the villa is unbelievable. Highly recommend.
Oli Knight — Google review
The botanical garden is great. We have chosen the best time to visit when everything is in bloom.
Христина Линів — Google review
Despite the pouring rain during our visit to Villa Carlotta, the botanical garden's beauty was undiminished, offering a peaceful walk along the 75-minute trail, ending with the museum. The garden was the definite highlight, overshadowing the less impressive museum.
Felicia — Google review
Villa Carlotta Gardens in Lake Como, Italy, is an absolute gem. The lush botanical paradise captivated me with its exquisite beauty. Strolling through the meticulously maintained gardens, I was surrounded by a stunning array of plants, flowers, and ancient trees. The view of Lake Como from the villa's terraces is simply breathtaking, providing a serene backdrop for a leisurely visit. The historical significance of Villa Carlotta, with its art collection and charming villa, adds depth to the experience. I was particularly moved by the art and sculptures on display, which offered a glimpse into the rich history of this place. Also nice: doga were allowed to enter the gardens for a nice family walk. The longest red route is about 1 hour.
Michael J. — Google review
Villa Carlotta is a lovely botanical garden with so many different varieties of plants. There is such diversity in the fauna and flora growing here. For example, they have a rhododendron section, a succulent and cactus garden, a fern garden, and so many others. The layout of this garden has been planned by a mastermind., and many walking past throughout the garden. The villa itself has beautiful architecture and art inside. A lovely little oasis right on the waterfront and very close to the water ferry drop off.

The Villa del Balbianello is a grand 18th century villa which has been used by filmmakers including James Bond and Star Wars. The gardens are quite beautiful and are popular among tourists.
What an experience!!! My husband had been wanting to visit for a long time due to his love of movies in particular Star Wars & 007. We visited the locations where the movies were filmed and wandered around the whole surroundings. Villa del Balbianello is breathtaking, do yourself a favour and go! Side note: We caught the private water taxi here and that helped capture some of these gorgeous shots due to the better access spot for drop off.

Charming Villa on top of a small hill which enjoys marvellous views of lake Como. The trees, the plants, the flowers, the rockery, the variety of natural landscapes and man-made pathways is simply amazing. Fascinating history of the place, full of twists and turns until the last owner died and donated it to a National Trust. The architecture blends in beautifully with the complexity of the natural landscape surrounding the villa. Almost a fairytale place, unsurprisingly used as a cinema set for some very famous movies. Not to be missed!
Francesco Barilla — Google review
Amazing villa to visit which was one of our highlights during our stay in Lake Como. Be prepared for a 20 minute walk uphill or alternatively you can get a boat to take you around to the other entrance. Highly recommend attending early so it is quiet for you to walk around the gardens. Also the guided tour of the interior was really good and insightful, highly recommend doing that as well.
Charlie Lewer — Google review
Beautiful place! Went round the gardens as hadn't pre-booked a tour inside. If you struggle walking definitely choose the shorter 20-minute route through the park to the entrance as the longer 40-minute route if very steep and rough terrain. Bus C10 takes you pretty close to the park. As a Star Wars fan this was so worth a visit for the famous arch and balcony. The views are incredible too. Would recommend if in Lake Como.
ilana — Google review
I had one incredible experience visiting this fabulous Villa. FAI does an incredible job, as always. The tour guide (in English) was really nice! It was so surprising all the details and stories about the place especially about Guido Monzino. The villa is kept flawlessly and it's stunning, inside and out.
Gisa Vie — Google review
A fabulous out of this world beautifully villa and experience! Definitely take the tour! Immerse yourself in the life of. 70s Italian explorer, the history and mini-museum feel of the place, and a must for Star Wars or 007 fans!
Irene Banasta — Google review
The best thing about the lake. The most unbelievable upkeep and incredible views. Really nice to learn about the history of the villa. Also loved seeing where Star Wars was filmed!
Tommy Jackson — Google review
So so glad we booked the day out here! If you have the opportunity book a guided tour as you can go inside, and it went through the history which was so interesting. The gardens are gorgeous, extremely well kept, and were very fun to explore. There's a small ice cream place within which was nice as it can get hot, but I would love to visit this again!
Scar TT — Google review
I only took the gardens tour. From the outside the villa looked small so i waant't disappointed. The gardens are really beautiful with nice views of surrounding towns. Obviously there are a lot of people but it's not overcrowded. There is a 20 min walk to the gardens with slopes. Parking is limited.
Mike P — Google review
What a wonderful place to visit. This villa and it’s beautiful garden are one of the most beautiful places I have visited. The tour guides are lovely, so informative about the owner, the contents and their admiration for the man who owned it. Totally fascinating story of this explorers life and his residence. Many films have had scenes taken on this Island including scenes from Casino Royal and Star Wars. Well worth a trip to see the gardens with its views across the bays from every outlook.
HELEN CLEMENTS — Google review
One of the more interesting villas in all of Lake Como. The full guided tour was absolutely worth its price. The view was also fantastic, being surrounded by lakes at almost all its surroundings. However needs a 1 to 2km walk in from the entrance, so do plan in advance.

Just like heaven! Every single conner of the place is beautiful. Fantastic combination of landscape and architecture. The view is to die for. And give a round of applause to the gardener!
Pepsi Wongwattanachai — Google review
Parking was completely full, so we had to find another place around 5 min. from the start of the trail. Getting to the villa is quite a hike as it is very steep and takes around 15-20 min. As soon as we arrived, we were able to skip the long line as we had already prebooked. The villa and grounds are absolutely beautiful and very well maintained. Can definitely recommend this place if you want to take pictures of pretty Lake Como as well.
Danielle Jeanne Sosa — Google review
A beautiful villa by the lake. Two type of tickets for you to choose, one with guided tour into the villa and the other can only access the garden area. I recommend you to take a guided tour to learn more history about this villa, and you could see many antiques collected by the owner. The garden is as beautiful as you can see on pictures, and especially on sunny days, it’s also the filming place of star war and James Bond. Transportation to here from Milan is easy, just take the regional train to varenna and then the ferry.
Eric Nelson — Google review
Beautiful experience visiting the well taken care of gardens. If you walk from town be prepared to hike up hill in many spots and remember to bring water. I recommend taking the boat over for older folks. There is a book shop on site that sells water. Get tickets in advance to the gardens as it can get busy.
Mark LoGiurato — Google review
I think it's just an incredible place! It looks especially beautiful from the water, so be sure to try to rent a boat or take a cruise on a tourist boat. It's definitely worth it! After my last visit here, I had a dream to celebrate some important event right here! Therefore, this is my sincere recommendation❤️

The Villa del Balbianello has been beautifully preserved for centuries. The grounds are very well-maintained, and so are all of the buildings. It is a bit of a hike to get to it from the entrance, but just treat it as a leisurely stroll. You could easily spend a half a day on your visit. Be sure and arrange a tour of the house or you will really miss out. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the history of the place and the lives of the people who lived here.

Villa Balbianello, built in 1787 on its own peninsula, is a veritable icon, renowned the world over for its exceptional beauty. Its Loggia, immortalized in the film Star Wars Episode 2, adds a touch of magic to an already enchanting setting. Surrounded by century-old trees, the property is impeccably maintained, offering breathtaking views of the lake and the Alps. A true architectural gem, Villa Balbianello is a magical and unique place in the world. Thank you for a wonderful visit, every corner of the villa tells a story of elegance and refinement. Although the night may cost around 1200 EUR, every euro spent is well worth it for this exceptional experience. For the next time ;0) Best regards, #B4YOUDISCOVERY

Expect large crowds. Lots of tourist taking photos. Absolutely stunning views. Beautiful villa. One can only imagine what it was like here in the past. Pre-internet days. Yes, it was popularized due to many movies including star wars.

Visited as a Star Wars fan, and a James Bond fan. The coolest spot is where Annikan talks about his hatred of sand in the movie. Unfortunately, there is a park bench in the spot so getting a photo can be challenging. I believe the walk was 20 minutes from the small town to the villa. There was also a wedding happening when we were there, but they let you walk around still.

Embarking on a fabulous getaway to Menaggio, Italy with my amazing Polish colleagues was a trip to remember! Picture-perfect moments unfolded as we explored the enchanting trio of Menaggio, Varenna, and Bellagio nestled along the mesmerizing Como Lake. 🚗✨ Now, let me spill the beans on my favorite - Varenna stole my heart! This quaint village oozes the true essence of an Italian escape. Imagine narrow cobblestone streets, charming cafes, and that unmistakable Italian village vibe. 🇮🇹💖 Pro tip for your Italy escapade: Rent a car from the airport. Trust me, the price is a steal, and it unleashes a world of possibilities as you ferry through these idyllic villages. Feel the wind in your hair as you drive along, and hey, you can even hop on a ferry across Como Lake to explore neighboring cities. 🚗⛴️ During our stay, we dived headfirst into the local scene, savoring traditional Italian delights and soaking in the aesthetic charm of Varenna. It was like stepping into an "Eat, Pray, Love" movie! 🍝🚶‍♀️ One night was not nearly enough, and I've already vowed to return for a longer stay in Varenna. Trust me, this place casts a spell that lingers on, urging you to embrace the positive energy of life and fall in love with yourself all over again! ✨❤️ Go ahead, plan your trip, and let me know your thoughts on this hidden gem when you return. Italy awaits with open arms—buon viaggio! 🌍🇮🇹💫

Lake Como is an absolutely stunning place to visit and is definitely a hidden gem in Italy 🇮🇹. Located in the Lombardy region, this beautiful lake is surrounded by majestic mountains and boasts crystal clear waters. I recently had the opportunity to visit Lake Como and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience! 🏞️ One of the highlights of Lake Como is its gorgeous scenery. The views of the lake and surrounding mountains are simply breathtaking. It's no wonder that many celebrities and high-profile individuals have homes in the area. The quaint villages that dot the shoreline are also charming and offer a glimpse into the local culture 🌅. Aside from the stunning scenery, Lake Como offers plenty of outdoor activities to keep visitors entertained. Whether you're interested in hiking, biking, or boating, there's something for everyone. The lake is also great for swimming, and there are plenty of beaches and swimming areas available 🏊‍♀️. If you're interested in history and culture, Lake Como won't disappoint. The area is rich in history, and there are plenty of museums, art galleries, and historical landmarks to explore. You can also take a boat tour of the lake and learn about the area's rich history and culture 🚤. As for accommodations, Lake Como offers plenty of options for every budget. From luxurious villas to cozy bed and breakfasts, there's something for everyone. I personally stayed in a charming little bed and breakfast and had a great experience 🛏️. Overall, I highly recommend visiting Lake Como for anyone looking for a unique and unforgettable holiday experience. The scenery is breathtaking, the activities are plentiful, and the history and culture are fascinating. Plus, it's a great way to escape the crowds and enjoy a more peaceful side of Italy. 😍

The villa takes its name from the presence of a centenarian elm, which once stood here but has since been lost. It was designed by one of Lombard neoclassical's most authoritative architects, and was finished in 1796. Although it underwent restoration works in the 1800s, it has always been praised for its grandeur.
Beautiful building with great views of the lake. They use the interior for exhibitions. We didn’t much care for what they were showing, but the exhibition was free entry and it allowed us to see the interior of the Villa. Really what you go for is the lake views. Nice little stop.

The Villa Olmo grounds are very beautiful and welcoming. This Villa overlooks the lake of Como and is absolutely wonderful! You can see planes landing and taking off from the lake as you walk around the grounds and actually walk down to the water. It was a great place to stop and take in the beauty of lake Como.

You can see Villa Olmo from the promenade of the town Como and have a short but pleasant walk towards it. If the weather is nice, have a coffee on a bar of Lido di Villa Olmo and visit the villa's gardens. If it's not Monday (because the villa is closed on this day), don't miss to enter Villa Olmo and see its interiors (open from 10 am till 6 pm), the entrance is free. Today it's a good location fro private or public events, you can easily rent it if it's available on a day that you ask.

It’s not really a welcoming place once you get there, while from afar it looks majestic. The lawns in front of the villa are quite crowded. There’s a small public „beach“ where you can enter the lake but it’s not really inviting actually.

Magnificent Villa by the Lake in Como. It seems to be the in place to go to relax - Lots of people having Picnics and playing games. The Villa is Free to walk around - the staff were very welcoming. We were told we could only enter if we bought a ticket to the exhibition and even then we could only see the exhibition, not wander the ground floor as everyone else seems to suggest. Restoration work going on out front. Not the place to visit at the moment it seems.

The botanical garden Villa Monastero is a must-see for Instagram enthusiasts. The gardens are filled with beautiful statues, waterfalls, and porticoes that make for perfect photo ops. The centerpiece of the gardens is the House Museum, which features a perfectly preserved marble staircase, elegant drawing rooms, and decadent 19th century bathroom.
Amazing place in an amazing and characteristic little city. If you visiting Varenna you can skip this place. You will completely fall in love with Como lake. The view, the garden are amazing. The house museum is not that exciting but it is part of the building so it is worth visiting. Inside the villa you can also find a little bar to have a coffee with the amazing wonderful view. The price is not that expensive and the staff was really nice!

The villa is full of organic plants along a nice lake. The ticket is quite cheap and not necessary to book online. The first time when we visited it, train from Milan to get there was quite funny since it run over the station and the staff had to stop it manually. We nearly went over the destination and the staff’s manner was still so calm down like this wasn’t a matter. However it was a good memory for us. Regarding the villa, it underwent several transformations and renovations, resulting in the current architectural style which is a mix of medieval, Renaissance and neoclassical elements. Its gardens are particularly famous for their charming and variety. They feature a wide range of plant species, including rare and exotic plants, as well as sculptures and statues. The botanical garden is renowned for its collection of azaleas and rhododendrons which blom spectacularly in spring. A must-visit destination for visitors to Varenna.

We were here on Assumption of Mary day. Very beautiful, but you must come early if you want to find a parking spot in a nearby parking or enywhere else. One day we came at 11 and all parkings in the city were full, the only one we could find with a free spot was high up a mountain. Next day we came at 9:30 in the morning and there were lots of places left.

Restaurant
The Osteria del Gallo is a traditional Italian eatery with a rustic dining room and wine bottle-lined shelves. The menu features dishes made with fresh local ingredients.
A fantastic restaurant; authentic, reasonably priced and extremely tasty. Had tried for ages to get a table, finally managed the food did not dissapoint. Seasonal menu, changes every month - basically everything is delicious. Can highly recommend their homemade Spritz as well!

Our favourite restaurant by far in Como. The decor is extremely charming with many bottles of wine curated over the decades. The menu changes DAILY with locally sourced ingredients including raspberries handpicked from the owner's home! Celebrating 40 years of being in business and you can see why as the food is both simple, rustic and and delicious. We were extremely lucky to just walk in for lunch and offered the private table in the back which was a magical dining experience. However, reservations for dinner are an absolute MUST if you want to avoid disappointment. Our two meals here and and lenghty conversations with the owner's daughter at lunch were definite highlights of our visit to Lake Como!

Lovely place. So nice and special inside. Hand-written menus that changes every day. The place is full of wine, so I am sure you can find a bottle you like. BUT, I have to be honest. The food was very basic. Pasta over cooked etc etc Foccacia : 2 stars Spaghetti with tuna: 2 stars Pumpkin filled ravioli: 3 stars Tiramisu: 3 stars

Lovely fresh italian restaurant. The menu is small and focuses on daily freshly made food. We had the lasagna and the orrichieti. Both tasted really nice, as if cooked from the mama. The tiramisu and chocolate and nut cake were totallu worth it, both tasted really good. The daily house wine was nice as well. I would highly recommend. The staff is really nice and friendly. The restaurant has a really nice selections of wines and delicacies that you can buy on the spot. It ks a little gem in como 😊 would come back again

This was our favorite meal in Como and possibly Italy in general. The cutest couple that owns it puts effort into every detail of your meal and you will not regret one bite. A reservation is a must since there are limited tables. The pasta is better than any we’ve ever had and focaccia has the best buttery flavor. Desserts also looked amazing- we tried the raspberry tart 🤌🏻

One of the best places we've been to in our trip here in Italy! They have a different menu depending on the day, really really tasty, good price and filling. The atmosphere seems really authentic and the personnel was very friendly!

Absolutely excellent! Family owned, fresh menu changes every day & all items made from scratch in house daily. Lovely service staff & a cozy “home kitchen” ambiance. Also Google maps noted that this spot opens at 7, but I walked by and noticed it was packed with locals for lunch - a great sign. We will be back!

Very nice family run trattoria. The stuff was friendly and the food was delicious. The desert as well! I will be definitely going back!

Ate here before our train to Milan, and it started pouring. Waiter was so nice to let us stay until rain settled down. Service was great, the nona was very nice. Food was good, especially their tiramisu!

Homely osteria with simple but tasty food. Quite busy so book a night or two in advance. Situated in a cute laneway of Como, it has a lovely ambience that adds to the charm. We very much enjoyed our dinner here, recommend for those who enjoy good food without the pretentiousness.

Really good food and friendly staff. Would recommend! Fish is beautiful

One of Como's hidden gems - but either make sure you book a table in advance or you will need to wait a long time to sit down, as it is packed with locals.

The food is simple but perfect, home tasty and a cozy atmosphere. Thanks. My daughter Sofia drew this as I appreciate the best foods.

Loved this cute little restaurant in the city of Como. The food tastes homemade and is located on a cute little street in the city center. Tried the local dish which is perch and risotto which was delicious. Also had a fantastic vegetarian quiche. Loved the checkered table cloths. This place was worth the wait.

Perfect lunch place. The octopus was nicely charred with a nice crunch and a balanced tomato sauce. The monkfish ravioli was pertly cooked, heightened by the sweetness and tartness of fresh tomatoes and onions. Good wines by the glass

La Vita è Bella Ristorante - Insalateria is a charming restaurant located in a peaceful area of Como. It's known for its generous portions of creative salads made with fresh ingredients and high-quality dressings. The menu offers a wide variety of healthy lunch options that are both satisfying and inventive. The staff is friendly and provides quick service, making it an ideal spot for a relaxing meal. With multiple locations, the restaurant offers great value compared to other dining spots in the city center.
Amazing food. Many salad and bowl options. Tried 3 different days and all 3 were great. Good prices. Nice ambiance. This chain should be global it’s so good. Cheesecakes are great here also.
J Flores — Google review
Very nice place, seems to be kind of a chain because we have seen at least 3 of them. The food was great as well as service. We took bowls with salmon and tuna first time, and second time the salads. Quality was really good and the potions very big. For those who like salads and poke bowls - great choice! We liked the atmosphere in a Viale Lecco location more then in other ones!
Agunda Schweizer — Google review
Wow! 5 stars all around. My husband and I had been travelling in Italy for over a week and wanted a bit of a break from traditional Italian fare and this was the perfect spot. There is so much variety between main courses, salads, and bowls. The prices are great compared to the higher end (and lower rated spots) in the city core. We ended up doing dinner here one night, lunch at the lakefront location the next day, and returning to this location the same evening— 3 times in two days! We would have gone back if we had more time. Ultimately we’d recommend this location over the most northern lakefront spot because the service is a bit better and there seemed to be a bit better value. Also, amazing vibe on the patio. Very cute and romantic.

Very nice restaurant, with nice dishes and decoration. Good ambience and fast service. We had the Seafood Spaghetti, Tagliatelle with squid and Panacotta for desert and they were very good. For wine we suggest the Gewürztraminer. The highlight of the restaurant is however their salads 👌🏻
John Pit — Google review
The presentation surprised us, and the food was reasonably priced. We had Fried Cod and Sea Spaghetti, and were very pleased. The atmosphere felt great on a sunny day. Would definitely recommend for a great lunch.

Such a great place for lunch! Welcoming staff, a patio and fresh ingredients. We had beer and aperol spritz and for main we choose seafood pasta and caraibian salad! Salad was so colorful and so big ! We finished our dinner with the best tiramisu served in glass. I truly recommend this place ❤️❤️❤️

Great food and little restaurant. Doesn’t look like much from the outside but once you get inside it is truly a beautiful space. We had the pear and Brie salad and the ossobuco. Both plates where huge.
Jacqueline Toll — Google review
OMG!! Place with healthy delicious salats of a huge size and amazing bowls. Menu is very diverse :) they serve quite fast. I’d recommend the octopus soup, and all of the salad menu Better book in advance as it’s a waiting line doting the peak times. Desserts are yummy too
Antonina Golovach — Google review
The best experience we had not only at lake Como but during our whole North Italy vacation. The food is simply delicious from starters to desserts and everything is plated so beautifully. The place itself is cozy and romantic. We would definitely come back here.

Without a doubt our best meal in Lake Como. Amazing salads and bowls, but they have excellent steak and fries as well. The service was friendly, and they accommodated us without a reservation on a busy Sunday. Highly recommended!

Such a fantastic place with the friendliest staff. We rented a boat to tour the lake and docked for free at the island. The view and atmosphere are very hard to beat, and the food was delicious and refreshing. Give yourself a couple hours at least to have a proper time of your meal.

What a fabulous place this is, warm and friendly staff/owners. The food OMG I don't think I have tasted food quite like it before, it was exceptional. The little touches made the evening for us and are thinking about going back before we leave for another meal it was that good!

I recently dined in this Italian restaurant around Lake Como area, and I must say it was an superb culinary experience. The food was simply amazing, with every dish bursting with flavors. The fish was very fresh and delicious, and the risotto was a delight. The ambiance was equally delightful, in an almost 600 years old house that added to the overall experience. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable, wine selections in their menu complemented the meal perfectly. Overall, this Italian restaurant in Lake Como left a lasting impression with its exceptional food. I highly recommend this place if you are looking something other than pasta and pizza while enjoying the Lake Como area

Wow. What a meal. We were a group of 3 and did two courses each and they let up share them all so it was basically a 3 course meal. Don’t skip dessert. All local food and really nice service. Worth making reservations. The place isn’t big.

Incredible food and great service! We came here for lunch at opening time to find room (can be quite busy even for lunch), and had a delicious meal. The waiter was super friendly and helpful with recommendations, pairing the wine/prosecco with the food we ordered. And everything, especially the complimentary homemade bread with olive oil was delicious! Even the desserts were special, we had a drowned rum and espresso in ice cream. Highly recommend this place :)

Wonderful meal with excellent service to match. This place is a gem. Make sure to make a reservation as we saw people being turned away who did not have one.
Sal Tantillo — Google review
We dined at 4 high end restaurants in Tremezzo and the food here was the best, particularly when you consider the prices we paid. The g&t was a work of art (€7, whereas we paid €20 for less elsewhere); good local wines are available by the carafe - €8 for 0.5 litres; and no cover charge despite the non-stop bread. The atmosphere just needs a little background music (preferably Italian). NB: There is no lake view here, just great food.
Charles Reid — Google review
Perfect dinner. The owner warns that the restaurant doesn’t offer food that would suit children but our 12 and 17-year old teenagers had a great meal. Maybe just because they don’t propose the usual pasta and pizza. A lot of care is given to special and local and organic ingredients and less usual combinations that work perfectly fine. There is no outdoor seating here but perfect for a rainy day or even when it’s too hot outside. You can even buy their olive oil, sauce, pasta etc.

I have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop & mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review of Antica Trattoria del Risorgimento around lake Como. A true gem of authentic regional food. Every selected product feels carefully selected. In particular, the fois gras is excellent.
Eric D — Google review
This is a must visit restaurant at Lake Como. Definitely the top restaurant of our trip to Italy. The owners are very friendly and excited to share their cuisine. You can get here by C10 or an easy walk from the Lenno ferry terminal. Highlights of the meal are the bread sticks, foie gras, beef tartare and duck breast on the hot pebble. They also sell the amazing olive oil + salt for you to take home. Please reserve ahead by emailing them.

From the first bite to the last, you'll be delighted by the rich and authentic flavors that showcase the essence of cuisine. With warm and welcoming ambiance, attentive service this is a must destination for any food enthusiast. Indulge in the delicious offerings and let your palate revel in the taste of Italy.
Karolina Gilyte — Google review
An incredible restaurant that could be Michelin rated based on the amazing tasting menu and service. For starters the beef bone marrow with focaccia and the beef tartare are must tries for carnivores. Afterwards, don’t miss out on duck breast on a hot river stone with a apricot mustard….it will blow you away! The wine list provides some great options from Lago di Como. Highly recommend and book in advance!

Very atmospheric and rustic space. Our waitress was very attentive. The mixed fish starter was out of this world, alongside a really fresh and fragrant grilled vegetable starter. Great for a family evening out or a romantic night.

Locanda La Tirlindana is a family-owned Italian restaurant situated in a picturesque town square on the shores of Lake Como. The cuisine focuses on classic Italian dishes with an innovative twist, and the restaurant has an outdoor terrace with views of Comacina Island.
The ravioli with lemon and mascarpone cheese dish has been handmade with love since this restaurant opened and is worth traveling from New York City to experience. The beautiful setting in a cove was a bonus to the delicious food. Also of note: the duck ham and local cheese appetizer and the buckwheat pasta 👌🏻

The perch starter was beautifully plated and absolutely delicious! We ended up being here for dinner on their last night of the season, but there was absolutely no feeling of being rushed or of them in “shut down” mode. The service was attentive but not pushy, and we spent a solid 2 hours lingering over the delicious food and wine. The dining area was cozy and warm. Every dish was artfully plated and we savored every bite. I had the branzino- careful here as there were some bones. Hubby got the lamb chops with mint sauce. The sauce was tangy and not sweet. For dessert, we chose the homemade selection and finished every creamy, chocolatey, dreamy bite. We look forward to visiting again and again for years to come!
Jennifer Prestwich — Google review
Locanda La Tirlindana is an excellent restaurant and I highly recommend, we were taken care of the minute we arrived with the perfect level of service. Inside is simple and atmospheric, fairly small but with few tables you have plenty space. The food is fantastic and really worth making a trip for, the restaurant was recommended to us and for good reason. I went for the selection of four homemade desserts and each one was delicious. An extensive wine menu, very happy with our choices but that's not down any expertise of mine i think you couldn't go wrong with their selection. If I return to Como I will make an effort to return here its well worth it.

Food is great, service was also very fast and friendly! Prices are on the expensive side, but still worth visiting (we spent 140€ in two people for one entry, two main, one desert and a bottle of sparkling wine).
Felipe Risso — Google review
Excellent food, wine, and service. The lemon and mascarpone ravioli was the best pasta I've ever eaten. They were very accommodating of our toddler. Location is lovely as well! Thank you for a memorable meal and evening!
Meg Pierce — Google review
Food is lovely, but wanted for more in the portion sizes, still feeling hungry after 3 courses, my peers the same. Atmosphere, the best and service prompt and friendly, but prices are too much for the small sizes. A few chips would of gone down well. House wine is very decent, regional varieties, red like a pinot and white like a voignier flavour, so recommend those. Fillet steak very nice. Needs more additional carbs, not expensive but defo would have helped satisfaction on a quantity basis.
Nick Biscuits — Google review
The food is very good. Nice pastas and a good wine list. Service is spotty at best Beautiful setting on the dock.
Mark LoGiurato — Google review
Very nice restaurant with attentive service and good food. From the terrace tables, you give on directly to the lake with a beautiful view on the opposite shoreline. I had the lemon mascarpone raviolis to start followed by the fillet of sea bass with orange sauce - both extremely fresh and tasty, a must try on the menu that has many other delicious items including the tiramisu for dessert.
