Las Palmas de Gran Canaria

If you are looking for sun, sea, and sand, then the Canary Islands are for you. The island of Gran Canaria is the third biggest island in the Spanish Canaries. It’s also one of the warmest islands, and a great holiday destination with loads of beaches and plenty to do. The most southern part of the island, the tourist town of Maspalomas, has long been a favorite for its coastline, not to mention great shopping and a vibrant international atmosphere.

Las Canteras Beach is a renowned seaside destination in Gran Canaria, known for its vibrant array of wooden boats adorning the picturesque golden shores. It is a beloved spot for snorkeling enthusiasts, offering ample opportunities to explore the diverse marine life thriving beneath its crystal-clear waters. This popular urban beach extends over three kilometers and boasts an inviting esplanade lined with exceptional dining establishments and bars.
Visited back in February, what a great day. Amazing beach in Las Palmas. I appreciate the good free facilities and services such as toilets, changing rooms, showers. Also was very clean. The beach 🏖️ is very long and you can just relax, or do different sports or activities such as volleyball 🏐, surfing 🌊 or just take a walk 🚶‍♂️along the promenade where you can find lots of shops, bars 🍹,caffee☕ and restaurants 🍜. Wheelchairs accessibility ♿, Everything there can make it a nice experience and a nice holiday spot.

Muaen Sheikh — Google review
Over 20 degrees with sunshine even during Christmas and a 1.6 km long beach filled with yellow sand. Perfect swimming beach if wind is not so strong. directly behind is a pedestrian street where you can buy everything
Jing Ma — Google review
A glorious stretch of sand. The promenade has so many cafes, bars and restaurants too that you will always find something to suit your taste. A great location to people-watch too. We walked up and down the entire length as the temperature rose from 21 to 29C and enjoyed every minute.
John Witchell — Google review
Beautiful place for a walk, with plenty of cafes and restaurants to stop off at
Billy McBain — Google review
On a November morning a stroll along the beach at 26'c was better than a cold damp dreary day in England. Lovely to be in the sun again, couldn't think of a better place
The Gaffer — Google review
Perfect place for sunset pictures. Very calming and refreshing. Definitely worth visiting.
Ale S. — Google review
The beach is excellent. It is sandy with nice water and it is also very long so you can find different interesting spots where to stay. In the northern part the water is calm, in the middle you can find rocks in the water so be careful and in the southern part there are waves suitable for surfing. I would 100% recommend!
Momo — Google review
This beach really took me by surprise. The sand is stunning, so clean and easy to walk on, the sea is clean albeit a little wild, but all in all the whole experience on the beach was fab. So many different activities happening, the pier/broad walk is a great place to chill too but for me, it was towel down on the sand and taking it all in.
G Squared — Google review
Very nice but always crowded. Walk enough through north before you jump in, there is a sea pool there, you can easily swim and be careful where you set your towel, tie can make you wet otherwise all of a sudden
Murat ?nder — Google review
A fantastic place to be. Such a nice and wide beach with it's cool and smooth sand which is fantastic to walk in. There are places to change clothing and the security is high with several life guards along the entire beach. A perfect place for a day on holiday either if you want to swim or just lie down and rest in the sun. Or both.
Fredrik Eriksmo — Google review
Nice beach place with a long walkway next to the beach. A lot of restaurants and cafeterias can be find. Lot of local people at the beach which makes it feel more local than touristic. The beach has different „water areas“. Calm and almost no waves at the very top, waves and rocks in the middle. All in all very good for us (family with 2y old kid).
Stefan Garcia J. — Google review
Wonderful beach area with a beautiful Promenade full of great eateries for all budgets. Shops that are reasonably priced. Beautiful sands and a totally popular place with locals and tourists alike.
Garry Hoppe — Google review
It's amazing beach with wonderful view and lots of surfers! But you should be careful about stones in the water.
Marina Makarenko (Bella Thompson) — Google review
Playa de Las Canteras in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is an enchanting destination that captivates both locals and tourists alike. With its expansive golden sandy beach, turquoise waters, and vibrant promenade, this beach destination has much to offer. The beach itself is clean and well-maintained, perfect for sunbathing and relaxation. The gentle waves also make it ideal for swimmers and water sports enthusiasts. The iconic rock formation known as "La Barra" adds a picturesque element to the view and is an excellent spot for snorkeling. Along the promenade, you'll find numerous restaurants, bars, and shops, allowing you to savor delicious local cuisine and shop for souvenirs. In the evenings, the promenade comes alive with street performers and music, creating a lively atmosphere. It's worth noting that the beach can get quite crowded on weekends, so visiting on weekdays might be a good idea for a quieter experience. Playa de Las Canteras is a perfect destination for both relaxation and entertainment, offering something for everyone. A must-visit location in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria!
Ahmet — Google review
Wonderfully vibrant yet relaxed feel for a bit of October sun. Plenty for everyone with various shops, bars, restaurants and bakeries lining the beachfront and an area for beach volleyball. Our timing seems to have avoided the large crowds as I would imagine this having a different feel during the peak of the Summef
Andy Reade — Google review
We love this place, miles of beach, shops and restaurants. We sat on the edge and had a coffee and watched beach volleyball for a while, walked about halfway. Then laid-out on the beach. 2 loungers was 6 Euros. Had some Sangria and walked around the shops.
Rob Harrison — Google review
Great for city beach.. clean and well maintained.. Just not very private as expected from city beach.. very good amenities along the promenade and generally very pleasant place ot visit

Beautiful and clean beach, well protected... Many good restaurants along the walkway... 👌👌
Sumesh Payyakkil — Google review
3 kilometer long sandy beach where you can swim and surf. restaurants and grocery stores and other shopping along the entire beach. here you can lie right on the sand or rent a sunbed for €3. possibility for, among other things, volleyball. play equipment for the youngest children.
Reidar Biørn Michelet — Google review
Good beach, quality and space improves as you head towards La isleta. Endless restaurants and bars along the whole beach. There are also showers and tap for washing of feet. Beach is fairly peaceful and we were not disturbed by beach vendors.
M Ade — Google review
Very diverse and enjoyable beach! Plenty of sand :) ranging from normal gold towards Isleta to almost black near the surfing center. Weather is always warmer during the low tide in the first half of the day, rocks in the ocean are visible and all the rainbow fishes are out and easy to watch - they come close to the bay. You can even feed them-great fun for kids. Also this is a good time for snorkeling as waves are low. In the second part of the day there's high tide and waves are huge, mixed with sand. The ocean takes back quickly most of the beach.
Natalija Morozova — Google review
A beautiful beach, fine sand, transparent water. I was there first week of January 2024 and outside temperature was around +25, you can just swim and sunbathe 🌞 🏖
A. Alex — Google review
We were staying on a hotel right on the beach so it was great to just pop out of the room and relax there. The beach is really clean (saw it being cleaned every morning), the waters are really nice and there is enough space for everyone. The promenade around the beach is a nice place to walk around and is filled with bars and restaurants of all sorts. Highly recommended if you are in the area !!

Catholic cathedral
Sights & Landmarks
The Catedral Metropolitana de Santa Ana de Canarias is a gothic-style cathedral situated on a picturesque plaza in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and is renowned for its significant religious artworks. It took around 500 years to complete and features palm tree-like gothic piers inside. The cathedral's location allows for incredible views of the surrounding area including the Casa de Colon and Plaza de Santa Ana. Visitors can also climb the tower for an impressive panoramic view of the city.
Beautiful cathedral. For a few Euro you can get tot the top of the tower and enjoy a great view of Las Palmas, which is a great city with lovely people.
Mark teamup — Google review
Beautiful interior with explanations of the various areas. There’s a patio alongside another building with other donated exhibits. Unfortunately, did not take a lift up to the tower to see the panoramic view of the area. Free audio guide using your mobile phone to scan the QR code following the numbers labelled in 4 different languages. Opening hours: Mondays to Fridays 10am to 6pm (last entry: 530pm), Saturdays 10am to 4pm (last entry: 330pm). Entry fees: €6, SGD8.50. Tickets can be bought at the entrance.
YP Soo — Google review
For the cost of €3, this is a worthwhile place to visit if you are looking for a cultural experience. Besides the amazing cathedral which I'll get into in a minute, it is a historical religious museum. It is, as you might expect after the Spaniards came to the island. There is not that much text around there to read about each piece so bring your phone as they have an online audio tour. It has a beautiful garden and it is easy to navigate through the area. I can't remember seeing any elevators for the tour itself so not sure how accessible for wheelchair users. It is spread on two floors with arts, collections, books and historical facts (via audio tour). The cathedral is large and stunning on the inside and outside. For an extra €2 you can go all the way up to get a 360° view of the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, but you have to go around. We came from the backside we had no idea how large it would be inside! The dogs you see outside are actually Canarian dogs which is where the island got its name from.
Nicholai Martin — Google review
Beautiful cathedral in lovely old town area. Stunning given Las Palmas isn’t a huge city. Really pleasant surprise. Loved mixed styles of architecture and looked like older stain glass windows were being replaced with some that really suit the church’s style. Well worth €3 euros to visit the cathedral and museum. You get a combined ticket for both and can’t see the cathedral on its own. However the museum is small and worth a around as it’s well set out and there is a lovely courtyard with seating if you want some peace in a lovely environment. For €1.50 you can also go up the tower - great views of the city. You can climb the stairs or there is also an elevator. There are also toilets just off the courtyard.
Sue Vogt-Skard — Google review
6 euros to get in, the church is quite sparse but the rooftop view and the museum gardens are beautiful. The lift stops at the rooftop, but don't miss the staircase around the back of the elevator that goes to the top. You'll get good views from the roof but great views from the top. The museum contains a lot of artefacts and a good history of the crucifix as a symbol, and the garden is a good place to sit and relax for a moment.
Stuart Saint — Google review
Beautiful church. And when you're there do yourself that favor, pay the1.50 for visit the tower. The view is fab from up there. I keep coming back 😃
Mette Madsen — Google review
Really enjoyed going here. Beautiful church! We took the elevator up for 2€ and soaked in the views of the sailboats and the old town. It was also in a great location, just a short walk out and there was a ton of restaurants and also a Christopher Columbus museum which is free entrance on sundays.
Chelsea Ahlgren — Google review
Wonderful place. Must see inside. It cost around 6 euro to get there, but you can visit the church, museum on the second floor and go on the roof with an amazing city view. Be careful - the roof is included on the ticket cost, but requires different entrance, ask about it the lady at the first entrance otherwise you have a chance to miss it.
Nataliia Cheban — Google review
Beautiful architecture! This part of Las Palmas is well worth visiting! Cathedral,Casa de Colon and more nearby.
P I — Google review
Absolutely magnificent church. Nice and well kept building. A piece of little history. Not too expensive either. Definitely worth a visit. The garden and the little museum are great. I was fascinated with the little garden. Worth going up in the tower gives you a good look about the builds around.
Zoltan Todor — Google review
Incredibly beautiful cathedral. Entrance fee 6 euros. 4 euros for pensioners. Walk around the whole building for a more complete experience.
Irene Lindberg — Google review
Historic building and magnificent architecture. Worth to visit the cathedral. The viewing tower is highly recommended as well. The entrance ticket now includes the cathedral, viewing tower and museum as well.
Anna Jánosi — Google review
Fantastic looking cathedral inside and out , the view from the top of the tower is great , 164 steps but there is a lift for the less abled 🙏
JASON BACON — Google review
We loved walking round this beautiful Cathedral, and going up to look out around the town. The views were stunning.
Alison Evans — Google review
The Cathedral of Santa Ana, located in the heart of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, is a divine masterpiece that left me in awe. This architectural gem is a testament to the rich history and the artistic brilliance of the Canary Islands. Upon approaching the cathedral, you are immediately struck by the grandeur of its facade. The intricate stonework and the towering spires make it a sight to behold, and it sets the tone for the grandeur you’ll find inside. Stepping through its doors, I was greeted by an interior that exudes tranquility and spirituality. The awe-inspiring Gothic architecture, soaring ceilings, and majestic stained glass windows create a serene atmosphere that invites reflection and reverence. One of the highlights for me was the beautifully adorned altarpiece, a true work of art that depicts religious scenes in exquisite detail. The cathedral’s chapels are also filled with historical and religious treasures, making it a place where art, history, and faith converge. The cathedral’s role as a spiritual and cultural center is evident in its vibrant events and musical performances. I was fortunate enough to attend a concert here, and the acoustics and the ambiance were truly magical. In conclusion, the Cathedral of Santa Ana is a must-visit for anyone in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. It’s a place where the sacred and the artistic unite, and it’s impossible not to be captivated by its beauty and historical significance. Whether you’re a religious pilgrim or an art enthusiast, this cathedral has something truly special to offer.

Museums
The Casa de Colón, located in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, is an extravagant former governor's residence that was visited by Christopher Columbus during his voyages. This prominent museum showcases a collection of artwork and ceramics from various historical periods. The museum's grand Gothic-style exterior and impressive architecture are complemented by its extensive displays of memorabilia related to Columbus and his numerous expeditions. Additionally, the district surrounding the Casa de Colón offers architectural highlights such as elaborately carved wooden balconies.
As much as I don't like or respect the character of colonialist Christopher Columbus, I must say this museum is one of the finest in the city. I was reluctant to paying a visit, but I don't regret having done it. Throughout its two floors + the crypt, the museum holds some very interesting exhibitions, and all very varied; from detailed descriptions of Columbus' trips to the American continent, to exquisite paintings, miniatures, info about the social and historical origins of the island of Gran Canaria and pre-columbian art. Definitely a must when visiting the island. There's audioguides in different languages and even two parrots roaming about freely!
Starboy Devgan Rhei — Google review
Nice museum, lovely Spanish courtyard, very interesting maps. I was very disappointed about the personnel. I was wearing the mask as required but the assistant ( his behaviour was very close to franquista (fascist policeman), he was very obsessed and very concentrated to control people into the museum. I know the Spanish people apparently is friendly but in reality is very closed and aggressive. I was scared and decided to exit.
Ste Testa — Google review
The museum was before the former Governor’s house, it has a very interesting architecture, large patio and carved wooden ceilings. It is claimed that Christopher Columbus stayed there in 1492. Although the museum has several sections with artifacts, paintings and maps, I was expecting to find out more chronological information about the history of Canary Islands and its indigenous inhabitants.
Mehri Avlyakulova — Google review
Only a few rooms and all the exhibits are copies. I don't think there is anyting original there. Worth a visit if you want to check this from your milestones liste. The macaws are awesome tho 🦜
Alex Pîrcălăboiu — Google review
An interesting part of history, well presented. Friendly staff on hand to help. My phone was playing up, so I couldn't download the English guide. That was down to me, but it was good that it was available ( and free!). Even without the guide, there was plenty to see and understand. It was clear and interesting. A fascinating attraction, well worth a visit.
Marshall Westley — Google review
Awesome display of history. It also has a very nice art exhbition. Furthermore there are 2 beautiful parrots running around in the yards.

I think it’s a place on a “must visit” list when on island . Visited on Halloween so extra decorations made it look fantastic .
P I — Google review
Here you can walk in the footsteps of Columbus. You can learn about the island and it's strategic location on those famous voyages back in the 15th century. Well kept building. Amazing wooden ceiling and pretty courtyard can be found inside. 2 lovely parrots as extras to entertain visitors. They are truly amazing creatures and can be super loud but they are fine surrounded by people in the yard. I recommend to pop in and check out this building!
Anna Jánosi — Google review
An interesting museum, but I am very disappointed that not a single picture that hung on the wall is in English. Not to mention that there were 2,3 girls standing next to the ticket office, obviously for money, and ask God how much they go and explain about the museum BUT no one instructed us in anything, everyone was totally uninterested in me and my boyfriend for our visit to the museum that I was very sorry to give 8 € for entrance.

Amodeo Gaudenzio — Google review
Wonderful building and an impressive collection of art. I have 4 stars instead of the full 5 as I struggled to find any representation from women artists. Also, the basement was used to present relics from South American countries which were fascinating but the basement of the old building had so much historical interest in its own right which was ignored. Such a shame.
julia jones — Google review
Well kept place. Free entrance. Spectacular building. Beautiful paintings inside, some of them from the XVII century. 3D models of Las Palmas in different stages of development. When on Gran Canaria, you got to visit.
Tomasz Wrzosek — Google review
Very cheap to get in, the highlights were the cartography room and the crypt, which you could easily miss. There's a lot of portraits too if that is your think, and there are some excellent copies of documents from the voyages. Ethical points aside, the collection of indigenous artefacts is impressive and the setting for them is fantastic.
Stuart Saint — Google review
Interesting museum about the life and voyages of Christopher Columbus. Very reasonable entry price. However, please note the entry had to be paid by card as no cash transactions were permitted.
Morag Brown — Google review
Nice building, full oh history, you have to stop by if you are in Las Palmas. You can find a lot of parking in the area nearby that are neither so expensive. We really enjoy the visit of this museum, unfortunately we hadn't enough time to go through well all the interesting things that we found there.
Luca Paiusco — Google review
Historic, and an essential place to visit for seafarers, because Columbus is the first ever great seafarer and explorer who discovered the Americas. I did not have time to catch the place in the day so I was not able to enter it. Some other time maybe.
A D — Google review
We visited for free on a Sunday. Lots of interesting artworks, mostly from Spain/Canary Islands. A few original pieces by Rembrandt and other Dutch artists. The house has two levels above ground and one underground (with mostly South American cultures pieces). Different levels only accessible by stairs. Wonderful many centuries old quilt between first and second floor. Amenities: toilets in okay condition, lots of benches to rest on. Most info on Columbus’ is only in Spanish, artworks in Spanish and English. Bonus: Two friendly macaws in one of the inner courtyards and a nice little gift shop.

A truly spectacular park. Highly recommend anyone visiting Las Palmas to go and see it.

Banging views when you go up higher, but the park degrades quickly and the condoms fill the paths. At least some people are still enjoying it because I didn't very much.

Such a beautiful and tranquil park, it is a huge recommendation for a nice stroll through a very nice kept garden/park. They seems to take very good care of all the areas and there are many different trees, flower and plants. The park is beautiful in the day but in the night when the lights are turned out it becomes even magical. It's a nice place to rest a bit while being in the city of Las Palmas without really leaving the city.

Publicly available park with benches, playground, dog park, and other facilities. Delicious Marta restaurant in Triana of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria features creative cuisine with Catalan influences, perfect for al fresco dining in the city's warm climate. The restaurant is highly recommended and booking is essential. The steak tartar is a popular dish here.

Exquisite cuisine with a great ambient. Place: it is located in the old city of las palmas. Decorated in a colonial style with modern touches. It is cozy and warm. This place is always full so you need to book in advance. Service: they are kind and fast enough. Always Keen to recommend the best items on the menu as well as out of the menu dishes. They could be a bit more attentive tho, things like refiling drinks, or offering more bread makes the difference. Food: they started with homemade walnuts bread. Really soft and sweet inside but with a savoury crust. Some cold cuts, corn bread and tomate with oil. Everything was very tasty. For mains we had. Truffle gnochis: really delicious a must try. Eggs and navajas(seafood): that was a surprise for a dish. Good combination with a running yolk inside the omelette and the seafood on top. Ham croquettes: crunchy outside with a thin crust, creamy and plenty of ham inside. Oxtail with sauce: tasty and tender, perfect 24 hours slow cooked pig: this is another must try. Crunchy outside and extremely tender inside. Desserts Toffee with vainilla and caramel: nice but a bit too sweet Cream of vanilla and berries: original taste a bit sweet and savoury. Natillas: a nice and creamy traditional dessert. This is a very recommended place in Las Palmas both for lunch or dinner.

Great restaurant and fab food the only hiccup was a rather stroppy waiter .. luckily the interaction was at the end of the meal . Great wine list and strongly recommend a visit .. The Norwegian lobster rice & the nut bread were amazing, but we waited 30min between the staters and the main course. Starters were a bit unbalanced, too much dressing on the asparagus and not enough seasoning on the gnocchis. The desert was pretty good.
Meryem Bennani — Google review
We were a group of five with reservations. For starters, we ordered the asparagus, shrimp in a light red sauce, croquetas, and ensaladilla de atún. Each was beautifully presented, as if specially made for a photo shoot in Bon Appétit magazine, and deliciously dressed; the flavors melded well in the mouth. I cannot say which was my favorite as they were all fabulous. For my main dish, I decided on the Arroz Cremoso con Cigalas. I will say the flavor was wonderful. However, disappointingly, it was only rice in a brown sauce and two small, 5cm, crayfish tail slices. It was not a dish I would order again. Others at the table ordered the cochinillo, the steak tartar, and the roast beef, which by all accounts were marvelous. The head of the table chose a Ribera del Duero, which pleasantly complimented all the plates. For dessert, most of us had the vanilla pudding, which came with a spoon of vanilla ice cream. It was truly magnificent, with flavors of vanilla, and I believe cardamom; it was large enough for four people to fully enjoy. Thank you, Lucas, for introducing me to this amazing restaurant.

Great food, excellent and unintrusive, non pushy waiter and waitress, who know their stuff. Food is very far from generic and quick. Our meal took about 90 minutes, 2 starters, 3 main courses and a dessert between three people. Make no mistake, it's expensive, but in my opinion totally worth it. Beautifully presented food with obviously good quality ingredients. All tastes good. I'd recommend it for couples.

Absolutely amazing place to have reasonable priced and tasty seafood. The location is away from all the sunbathers and faces the sea, the waiters were very attentive and took us to select the fish we wanted. Service was fast and food was excellent, seafood was so fresh and seafood paella was tasty. Would highly recommend the sardines and I would definitely return 👌

Somewhat disappointing, pictures online looked much better than the food! This place has become very touristy. We were shown a fresh uncooked fish and what we were served was no where near that fish! Great location.

Amazing place to see the sunset! The team is very nice and the food was served quickly. We had many types of shrimps, octopus and langouste and all of them were good. We also had the clams and I found that they were a bit salty to my taste. For sure you should try the grill octopus. This is a very romantic place to bring your future wife but I would change the color of the light for something more warm. Thanks for the great meal!

Great for eating fish! I recommend the parrot fish, it's local and delicious. The service is very kind, old school professionalism. We also ordered fried octopus, 8/10, not great, not terrible, worth a try.

We had two amazing dinner experiences at La Marinera: once lunch, once dinner! Inpeccable service with kind, knowledgeable staff and the fresh fish was 10/10! Special shout out to the waiter who spoke Dutch and served us so kindly! We loved how they come to your table to show you the fish fresh and then prepare it for you. You pay per 100 grams, which to us shows how much knowledge and wisdom they put into this concept (and the prices are great btw!). The wine was also amazing, we recommend the one local to Gran Canaria! And the view, especially during lunch, is amazing! We recommend a reservation because both locals and tourists know this spot well!!

Amazingly fresh and good seafood restaurant in Las Palmas recommended by locals 🌴in Canaries Islands ! Right ont he edge of the beach 🏖 very well located with beautiful view, you can recognize the restaurant by his signal outside, a boat that is lit at night. This restaurant has been recommended to me by a local and I was not disappointed ! I ordered octopus 🐙 shrimp and steamed 🦑 calamars as I cannot eat fry. They adapt to you need which is great 👍🏻 They have a lot of different dishes which is great 👍🏻 it was very tasty. You do her charge for the bread and sauce that get served to you so be careful ! The price is pretty reasonable as well As the portions.

The restaurant location is right by the beach and away from the busyness while you can still enjoy the great view. They have a huge menu of delicious options you can choose from. The staff were very English-friendly and kind towards tourists and menu was available in a lot of languages, so was grateful for their services and meal.

If you see this restaurant everywhere and it says “go”, listen to the reviews. Go. I went on a Friday around 6:30pm, a table for one. I was lucky enough to have a fantastic person waiting my table (Eduardo - ask for him and him only), he made my evening super enjoyable. And I loved the fact that he did not allow me to order more than I could have actually eaten. And he was right. The food is to drool for. I got the squid and the grill shrimp and it was more than enough. They do not really do white wine by the glass but he managed to “squeeze something for me” :))) which I really appreciated. There goes dry january, but it s for a noble cause. Go to this place at Sunset, maybe 15-20 mins before. If it s high season, make a reservation! By 19:30 it was packed! And it’s January!

I'm not sure why we have been recommended this place. Even though the paella was tasteful, it was really lacking of seafood in it. One mussel and one gambas per person it's really ridiculous! No to mention, they'll charge you for "bread and salsa" that you didn't even order...
mrantonioeugenio — Google review
The paella was really good, rice perfectly cooked, flavourful and packed with seafood! Starters were all delicious. Good wines. Very friendly service. We got a table next to the ocean, it was a great decision to come to this restaurant.

The location of this restaurant is unbeatable, right at Playa de las Canteras. If you come in for an early dinner you might even see the sunset. Waiters there are very experienced and even if food is simple (as it’s in the Canary Islands traditions), they care for their customers as they do in fine dining restaurants. I loved the pulpo, that green sauce was great. I also loved the fish soup. I found the paella average (it wasn’t cooked at the moment, but I knew it as I ordered a menu option), and also wasn’t too impressed with the figs parfait. What I didn’t like was the big salad, which came with an entire onion which I basically had to cut myself (it was peeled of course, but not really distributed in the salad). The vinaigrette was also simple oil and vinegar, which, for a restaurant of this standard, I feel it could have been elevated into a proper vinaigrette. Also, having gone alone and looking forward to reading, I found this wasn’t really possible. Food came quite early, so It was more eating than actually sitting with my thoughts. The price is affordable (the pulpo was just 11.50) and completely justified. Still, the quality is really good as the restaurant has a long tradition, and I recommend it!

Very good paella, lots of seafood, impressively served on a large plate. Although the interior of the restaurant leaves much to be desired but the location alone compensates for everything. I was surprised to have an appetizer added to my bill, which I received from the restaurant while waiting for the dish, without ordering it at all 🤔

I gave them chance since the fish restaurant in the neighbourhood I used to go was fully booked, and unfortunately I was disappointed... food is tasteless and it was probably the worst culinary experience I had in Las Palmas during my 1 month stay. I hate to say that, but this restaurant got potential but they must change the kitchen
Jacek Obral — Google review
If you love seafood, you must go here, because they prepare it for you right away, and the most important thing is that it is so delicious that you may change your opinion about many dishes. It was my first time to eat octopus and I must say that I really liked it. .

Great food with a stunning sea view. A wide selection of seafood is available, including jumbo prawns that are superb and Mero fish that is perfect.

Very busy popular fish restaurant! Book in advance or be prepared to wait outside at busy times. Octopus and salad were great. Paella rice not as expected - the grains werent like usual Paella rice that you get in Spain, more like long grain rice, and not a lot of seafood in it but tasty nonetheless.
Jo Silverwood — Google review
My experience was a mix of impressions. The location is truly beautiful, with sea views. However, my experience with the wine waiter was less than satisfactory. As soon as we sat down at the table, he asked us what wine we wanted in a somewhat grumpy way, as if we should have decided in the first 5 minutes. Then I asked for his recommendation and he answered me in the worst way when I chose the only wine that was not on the menu saying "did you hear me mention that wine in the options I gave you?" 😐 Another aspect that perplexed me was the charging policy for fish. You were supposed to pay by the weight of the fish, the menu mentions the price per 100 grams and the minimum order is 300 grams. However my fish was clearly smaller than my boyfriend's and we both received a bill of €36 each, which seemed like a pretty high price considering the portion I received. From the reviews it seemed like a nice place, but for us it was a tourist trap, even when my mother tongue is Spanish. Despite these disappointments, the overall quality of the food made the experience acceptable. However, I would expect better customer service and a fairer pricing policy in the future.

Amazing restaurant for food lovers! Professional and very kind staff. This is a place for locals so there will be no disappointments. They serve amazing paella and a typical Canarian desert Polvito Uruguayo. The localization is great - right by the ocean 🌊

Nice ambiance and attentive service. Tried the gofio and it was very good. The flavour of the seafood paella was good, but it was way too wet, and they used parboiled rice instead of the proper paella rice, so we were disappointed with that. I may choose more local dishes when in GC in the future, and leave paellas for mainland Spain.

Que leche! is a very popular restaurant in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, serving Mediterranean and fusion cuisine. They have a full bar and are wheelchair accessible. The food is delicious and the waitstaff is friendly and accommodating.
The food was great, very tasty and stylish. We tried salmon tartare and lamb chops, and it tasted amazing. The service was very friendly and general atmosphere was very peaceful and elegant.

Disappointed in my experience at this restaurant. Please, just focus on the main ingredients, there's no need to cover them in popcorn or fried truffles. At least it was over quickly and not too expensive.

Sadly disappointed 2.5 stars While 'not bad', not bad is not good enough for the price and rave reviews. Nice in town setting, but the interior is a bit tired and dim. Among the three of us, there was no dish that stood out. I had perfectly cooked fish, but covered in puffed rice? Really did not work. The cerviche was more like a watercress soup with bits in it. 'Creative' but again, did not work. I can't recommend, though I expect there are some who would appreciate the 'creativity'.

Top 5 ever dining experience we’ve had. Food was absolutely tremendous, service great (although struggling a bit with English), wine was fantastic. To be able to dine for less than 100 EUR for 2 people is mind blowing. Will definitely come back. Reservations required.

Nice atmosphere, a bit stiff, but thats expected at expensive restaurants after all. I thought Michelin had higher standards though? Very good food, yes, but nothing over the top like I expected. Service was mediocre, but where is it not in gran canaria? Miles better than most restaurants in the area but nothing compared to food abroad. For the 90€ (2 people) - meh worth it.

Very high quality cooking at reasonable prices: delicious, creative and varied. Good service. I just don't think the fusion concept works very well: each element is excellent on its own, but the combinations (eg sashimi croquettes, satay tamales) are less than the sum of their parts. Also this is a small quibble, but the bread is really terrible, reminiscent of the buns you get served on an airplane. Despite these quibbles, the best dishes are really fantastic. Get the fried eggs with prawns and the suckling pig.

One of the best Spanish cuisine restaurants I tried. Despite there were few vegetarian options (for my wife) the owners were so nice to offer some delicious dish for her. I tired some pork iberico dish which was 10/10, great job!

Que Leche provides great value for money with an eclectic menu of courses meant for sharing, and a wine list that includes some top notch local variants. Among the highlights of our dinner were the morcilla, nigiri croquetas and scallops.

Pícaro is a contemporary Spanish restaurant in the heart of Las Palmas, with an eclectic mix of furnishings and artwork. The menu features a variety of international dishes that will make you forget you're in Spain. The stylish interior and attentive service complete the perfect dining experience.
Best food we had since we entered Spain. They should have a Michelin star. Extremely original prepared and tasteful. We like the small dishes and the combination of the starter, main and dessert was perfect!

The food wasn't bad but perhaps we were expecting to more sophisticated flavors. Some of the courses in the tasting menu were exciting (salpicón de atún, tiradito, eggs), but others like the canelón didn't impress us. We were excited for the black pig finale course that we had sen on the menu but they brought a different thing. They need to improve on the cleaning part. The carpet at the entry really dirty and toilets are not well taken care. Nevertheless the food is of quality and they have a good wine selection. Service was attentive and fast. I will call it more a gastrobar than a restaurant.

Find this restaurant one of the best in Las Palmas and we have tried a fair few! The menu degustación was kindly substituted accordingly to suit our pescatarian needs. Service impeccable, and with endless dishes with a different touch and clear culinary expertise. The final cheesecake was superbly creamy and baked to perfection. So good to finally be served food on a warmed plate which rarely happens here. The only addition which we were expecting was a good champagne. Thankyou to all.

Everything was absolutely great. However, we were told that it's 6 rounds, turned out to be more. We should be happy about this and delighted. While we are, it was also very excessive. We didn't feel so good afterwards, I was actually even scared to sleep for fear of indigestion. The portion of the dishes were right and it did fill me up even if it was a tasting menu. I suggest sticking to 2 "heavy" mains and 1 dessert. Otherwise, everything was exceptionally beautiful. Our favorite was definitely the ox tail tacos, wild boar croquettes and the tom kha ghai dessert. What an experience! It was around €100+ for the 2 of us (both tasting menu and a glass of wine each). Best bang for your buck! Photos attached are the ones I absolutely recommend.

The eggs were the highlight of my dinner here. This concept of this place is to share dishes, I came alone and some dishes were adapted to make them smaller so I could still try them. Nice service.

Best restaurant since our stay in Spain mainland and the Canaries. Extreme original and professional crew.

Michelin rated so we booked in advance. We were offered a bar table rather than a proper table. We asked to be moved as there were tables free, but it was not possible. A table stood empty until e left. Besides the experience being a very uncomfortable one, the food was not to our taste. Only one dish was good, the carpaccio of sea bass. The meat dishes could have been warmed up, they were very mushy and the flavours combinations didn’t work and were odd.

Delicious food, excellent service! We came here for one of our last holiday meals and were delighted with our experience. Our host was super friendly and helpful with both wine and food (actually advising us to order less), the food was innovative and really good, and we had a relaxed, fun dinner. Highly recommended! It also starts serving at 7.30, which is great for us Irish people:)

(Translated by Google) I went with some good friends who had recommended it to me, and the truth is that it is a true tribute. They change the menu very often, and with what I ate yesterday, I would return a thousand times to try their dishes. The desserts are truly crazy. The service is excellent. The reason I don't give it five stars is because the place is small, and because there is no air conditioning, and it wasn't a hot night. In any case, I am very clear that they will give a lot to talk about. And for the better.
