Over 20 degrees with sunshine even during Christmas and a 1.6 km long beach filled with yellow sand. Perfect swimming beach if wind is not so strong. directly behind is a pedestrian street where you can buy everything

A glorious stretch of sand. The promenade has so many cafes, bars and restaurants too that you will always find something to suit your taste. A great location to people-watch too. We walked up and down the entire length as the temperature rose from 21 to 29C and enjoyed every minute.

The beach is excellent. It is sandy with nice water and it is also very long so you can find different interesting spots where to stay. In the northern part the water is calm, in the middle you can find rocks in the water so be careful and in the southern part there are waves suitable for surfing. I would 100% recommend!

This beach really took me by surprise. The sand is stunning, so clean and easy to walk on, the sea is clean albeit a little wild, but all in all the whole experience on the beach was fab. So many different activities happening, the pier/broad walk is a great place to chill too but for me, it was towel down on the sand and taking it all in.

Very nice but always crowded. Walk enough through north before you jump in, there is a sea pool there, you can easily swim and be careful where you set your towel, tie can make you wet otherwise all of a sudden

A fantastic place to be. Such a nice and wide beach with it's cool and smooth sand which is fantastic to walk in. There are places to change clothing and the security is high with several life guards along the entire beach. A perfect place for a day on holiday either if you want to swim or just lie down and rest in the sun. Or both.

Nice beach place with a long walkway next to the beach. A lot of restaurants and cafeterias can be find. Lot of local people at the beach which makes it feel more local than touristic. The beach has different „water areas“. Calm and almost no waves at the very top, waves and rocks in the middle. All in all very good for us (family with 2y old kid).

Wonderful beach area with a beautiful Promenade full of great eateries for all budgets. Shops that are reasonably priced. Beautiful sands and a totally popular place with locals and tourists alike.

Wonderfully vibrant yet relaxed feel for a bit of October sun. Plenty for everyone with various shops, bars, restaurants and bakeries lining the beachfront and an area for beach volleyball. Our timing seems to have avoided the large crowds as I would imagine this having a different feel during the peak of the Summef

We love this place, miles of beach, shops and restaurants. We sat on the edge and had a coffee and watched beach volleyball for a while, walked about halfway. Then laid-out on the beach. 2 loungers was 6 Euros. Had some Sangria and walked around the shops.

3 kilometer long sandy beach where you can swim and surf. restaurants and grocery stores and other shopping along the entire beach. here you can lie right on the sand or rent a sunbed for €3. possibility for, among other things, volleyball. play equipment for the youngest children.

Good beach, quality and space improves as you head towards La isleta. Endless restaurants and bars along the whole beach. There are also showers and tap for washing of feet. Beach is fairly peaceful and we were not disturbed by beach vendors.

Very diverse and enjoyable beach! Plenty of sand :) ranging from normal gold towards Isleta to almost black near the surfing center. Weather is always warmer during the low tide in the first half of the day, rocks in the ocean are visible and all the rainbow fishes are out and easy to watch - they come close to the bay. You can even feed them-great fun for kids. Also this is a good time for snorkeling as waves are low. In the second part of the day there's high tide and waves are huge, mixed with sand. The ocean takes back quickly most of the beach.

A beautiful beach, fine sand, transparent water. I was there first week of January 2024 and outside temperature was around +25, you can just swim and sunbathe 🌞 🏖

We were staying on a hotel right on the beach so it was great to just pop out of the room and relax there. The beach is really clean (saw it being cleaned every morning), the waters are really nice and there is enough space for everyone. The promenade around the beach is a nice place to walk around and is filled with bars and restaurants of all sorts. Highly recommended if you are in the area !!

Very nice peaceful clean plaza to hang out in the lovely under-rated Old Town of Las Palmas. Visited during a weekday in early May and very quiet. It was a cloudy day otherwise photos would have been really nice. We visited the cathedral and museum afterwards which is definitely worth the 3 euros.

I hope that this place lives forever in my memories because it is wonderful. Very charming whether day or night. My favorite moment in this plaza was the warm night before we left the island, stomach full of tapas and Spanish beer, cool wind, flowers in bloom, moon light shining down, and people all around quietly conversing or playing toss with their dogs. Go make some island memories at Plaza de Santa Ana!

The old town is beautiful and peaceful. Lovely buildings, nice cafes just a nice place to go for a walk round.

Nice plaza some interesting buildings and a cathedral. You cannot see inside the cathedral however for 2 euro you can go up the tower ( by lift) for fantastic views of the area.

The cathedral was really something! The old town of Las Palmas is really worth a visit. If you are staying in Canteras area, take a bus, it's 1,40 euros to get to the bus station called Teatro. Walk around, have a coffee or something to eat an enjoy! Lots of museums around if you are interested in.

Picturesque square located in the old part of Las Palmas. The whole area is worth a visit - narrow cobblestone streets, colourful colonial-style buildings with wooden balconies, and vibrant squares - a perfect place to admire historic architecture while taking a leisurely stroll.

Beautiful walking area. Very quiet today as it was a public holiday. Worth a visit.

We did the hop on hop off bus and would highly recommend it. This is the old town and the bus gives you great information about the heritage of Las Palmas via headphones.

This square is very pretty. It was super nice to walk the streets of the old town. There are some benches where you can rest and if you are lucky you can hear some music from some street artists that will make this place even more magical. If you are in Las Palmas it is a must to viait this place. I strongly recommend it.

You can see 8 green metal dogs. They represent the history of the name of Canaries islands. It wasn't from birds that the Canary Islands, known in Spanish as Islas Canarias, got their name, but dogs, or perhaps seals depending on what you believe. The name comes from the Latin word for dog, canaria, and was given by the first Europeans to arrive here

I love the dog sculptures and the place. Took photos there. The night lights gave it drama and beauty.

Las Palmos. If you want a break from the pool and fancy some clothes shopping it's pretty good, not great but plenty to look round. My 17 year old daughter was happy. Plenty of cafes and the bus station gets you in and out covering most of the island.

Nice museum, lovely Spanish courtyard, very interesting maps. I was very disappointed about the personnel. I was wearing the mask as required but the assistant ( his behaviour was very close to franquista (fascist policeman), he was very obsessed and very concentrated to control people into the museum. I know the Spanish people apparently is friendly but in reality is very closed and aggressive. I was scared and decided to exit.

The museum was before the former Governor’s house, it has a very interesting architecture, large patio and carved wooden ceilings. It is claimed that Christopher Columbus stayed there in 1492. Although the museum has several sections with artifacts, paintings and maps, I was expecting to find out more chronological information about the history of Canary Islands and its indigenous inhabitants.

Only a few rooms and all the exhibits are copies. I don't think there is anyting original there. Worth a visit if you want to check this from your milestones liste. The macaws are awesome tho 🦜

An interesting part of history, well presented. Friendly staff on hand to help. My phone was playing up, so I couldn't download the English guide. That was down to me, but it was good that it was available ( and free!). Even without the guide, there was plenty to see and understand. It was clear and interesting. A fascinating attraction, well worth a visit.

Awesome display of history. It also has a very nice art exhbition. Furthermore there are 2 beautiful parrots running around in the yards.

I think it’s a place on a “must visit” list when on island . Visited on Halloween so extra decorations made it look fantastic .

Here you can walk in the footsteps of Columbus. You can learn about the island and it's strategic location on those famous voyages back in the 15th century. Well kept building. Amazing wooden ceiling and pretty courtyard can be found inside. 2 lovely parrots as extras to entertain visitors. They are truly amazing creatures and can be super loud but they are fine surrounded by people in the yard. I recommend to pop in and check out this building!

An interesting museum, but I am very disappointed that not a single picture that hung on the wall is in English. Not to mention that there were 2,3 girls standing next to the ticket office, obviously for money, and ask God how much they go and explain about the museum BUT no one instructed us in anything, everyone was totally uninterested in me and my boyfriend for our visit to the museum that I was very sorry to give 8 € for entrance.

Wonderful building and an impressive collection of art. I have 4 stars instead of the full 5 as I struggled to find any representation from women artists. Also, the basement was used to present relics from South American countries which were fascinating but the basement of the old building had so much historical interest in its own right which was ignored. Such a shame.

Well kept place. Free entrance. Spectacular building. Beautiful paintings inside, some of them from the XVII century. 3D models of Las Palmas in different stages of development. When on Gran Canaria, you got to visit.

Very cheap to get in, the highlights were the cartography room and the crypt, which you could easily miss. There's a lot of portraits too if that is your think, and there are some excellent copies of documents from the voyages. Ethical points aside, the collection of indigenous artefacts is impressive and the setting for them is fantastic.

Interesting museum about the life and voyages of Christopher Columbus. Very reasonable entry price. However, please note the entry had to be paid by card as no cash transactions were permitted.

Nice building, full oh history, you have to stop by if you are in Las Palmas. You can find a lot of parking in the area nearby that are neither so expensive. We really enjoy the visit of this museum, unfortunately we hadn't enough time to go through well all the interesting things that we found there.

Historic, and an essential place to visit for seafarers, because Columbus is the first ever great seafarer and explorer who discovered the Americas. I did not have time to catch the place in the day so I was not able to enter it. Some other time maybe.

We visited for free on a Sunday. Lots of interesting artworks, mostly from Spain/Canary Islands. A few original pieces by Rembrandt and other Dutch artists. The house has two levels above ground and one underground (with mostly South American cultures pieces). Different levels only accessible by stairs. Wonderful many centuries old quilt between first and second floor. Amenities: toilets in okay condition, lots of benches to rest on. Most info on Columbus’ is only in Spanish, artworks in Spanish and English. Bonus: Two friendly macaws in one of the inner courtyards and a nice little gift shop.

Beautiful house to visit and interesting displays about Christopher Columbus, though I do think it could be ordered a bit better in English to give the history chronologically.

Great place to spend a day on the weekend. Lots of small stores, cafés and restaurants.

Was here just in time for he highlight of the Carnaval de Gran Canaria. As a Filipino, we are known as Mall goers, we have large malls in the Philippines, and this place is just so refreshing, it is almost the same as strolling along a big mall, but this is an open space, with natural cool air, and stalls bear history and culture. I love the place.

This street/are was quite boring for me. It is not authentic, similar to every other cities' shopping streets.

A pleasant and enjoyable way to pass a couple of hours. I didn't find the main part of the gardens to be run down or poorly maintained as some other reviewers describe. The paths leading down from the car park to the west of the gardens are steep and uneven in parts so I would suggest that those with mobility problems avoid this entrance. There is an alternative entrance to the east of the park which provides access to the main gardens where the paths are well maintained. I enjoyed spending a couple of hours amongst the various trees, plants and water pools. It's a peaceful place to walk around in. There is no shop or cafe so take refreshments with you. The toilets were clean. There is no entry or parking charge. I recommend you visit, and I would visit again if in the area.

A very nice place not far from Las Palmas. Entrance is free and it's a good place for making nice pictures. There are plenty of parking spots directly in front of the garden.

Awesome cactus garden for a family trip!! There is parking space above and below and we do definitely recommend parking below, at the lower level. This way you are not forced to climb the sometimes rather narrow pathways to the garden but can decide for yourselves. Entrance and parking is free of charge.

Loved the Botanical Gardens! We entered at the top and wove our way down the paths along the hillside, to the bottom, through fascinating flora, and the sounds of birds. There are interesting sculptures, a fountain where the wise men behind the gardens and the study of indigenous flora are commemorated, special groupings of plants from other places (including a fascinating collection of palm trees), waterways, and good signage. I absolutely recommend taking the time to visit the gardens!

On our final day in Las Palmas, my girlfriend was adamant about visiting the Botanic Garden. While I was initially hesitant and skeptical about spending our time there amidst the lush greenery, my doubts were quickly shattered. To my amazement, the Botanic Garden turned out to be an enchanting oasis that left an indelible mark on my memory. This destination was far from ordinary—it was a realm of extraordinary beauty. If you ever find yourself in the vicinity, I implore you to pay a visit to this remarkable place. Its allure is not to be missed.

It can be said that it is nice for a free park. Especially the garden with cacti was very nice. There are giant cactus trees and different types of cacti. It's worth a few hours. Fish, insects and plants in tiny pools should also be seen. The toilets located at different points inside were also clean. Also, the security guards were polite and helpful.

Beautiful place, huge and peaceful. Organized in smaller sections, each one special in its own way. If you want to see it all, take at least 4 gozrs to wander around. Entrance is free. A true hidden gem!

Nice garden with free entrance. You can decide to follow different paths depending on your available time or if you have children, stroller or other difficulties. In our case we visited the garden with our 2 daughters, it was a nice experience, especially the area with the waterfall.

Great botanic garden in Gran Canaria with a great variety of cactus to see and also offers an interesting hike. It is much bigger than I expected and you can easily spend 2-3 hours here wandering about in a lovely sunny day. Definitely worth a visit. Plus It is free entry which is a bonus ;)

The place definitely has some untapped potential but currently looks like no one cares to make it work. Some areas are interesting, but majority of garden is just dirt, dry plants and nothing to see. Would love to have more info about plants not only general. Don’t bother to go up to the hill - apart from views same plants over and over again.

The garden is interesting but the trails are not well marked. The map at the lower entrance ( which Google directed us to) is scanned via a QR code. This garden plan is not easy to use when viewing on a phny The trail up to the main entrance where the mirador is, is very steep, narrow in places and there is no handrail or barrier. Due to vertigo, we chose to drive to the main entrance to see the mirador. There is a restaurant at the main entrance, we didn't visit it as it looked somewhat formal for our needs.

If you choose the right time of year, this place will delight you. The garden area is 27 hectares, and a walk around this wonderful place will take you 3-4.5 hours and will remain in your memory for a long time. All plants have been carefully categorized and described, and there are over 2,000 species, including 500 endemic ones. Admission to the garden and parking is free. I recommend👍

The biggest botanical garden in Spain, the place is so massive and entertaining it honestly feels more like an amusement park for plants and nature. The place is slightly inconvenient to reach by public transport but it’s absolutely worth it, and it’s all free. Spare a day for it and if you think you’ll get hungry make sure you reserve a seat at their amazing but quite packed restaurant.

Fabulous public gardens containing every type of plant from across the islands. The mixture of climate conditions, soil and landscape variations makes for the perfect site for the botanical gardens. Wandering around the well designed and cared for site is an absolute joy. Both relaxing and fascinating at the same time. Several of the plants and views are guaranteed to take your breath away in more ways than one as some of the paths up the steep hillside are demanding and even treacherous in places. There's a little restaurant at the top of the hillside and carparks both below and above. Amazingly, the park is free to enter.

A must see place in your first day in our opinion. We are not plant people but it changed our experience for the rest of our 7 days trip. Recognizing what we saw here during our trips was a bliss. So nicely done and organized, very rich park. Really helpful staff too.

Beautiful and huge garden. You can enter and see everything for free. The section with cactuses is especially breath taking.

A beautiful botanical gardens with free entry. The collections of palms and cacti is particularly interesting. If visiting however bear in mind that there is nowhere to get a drink in the park - it’s a good idea to bring some water on a hot day.

Cool place to stay for some 1,5-2h. Parking is also quite big . You should come here if you are in Gran Canaria. The largest botanic garden in Spain. It says something even this fact

Nice place to hike, demanding path, very warm

Be sure to add this location to a list when planning a sightseeing of island's mountains. It's not a caldera, it is explosion site, which makes it even more exciting to see and photos does not convey the massiveness of the place.

It's a relatively short hike around the crater. You could extend the walk by going all down in the crater, which is 200 meters down and back up. So bring enough water, a cap and sunscreen!

Great walk..Not easy all the way around but absolut well worth the effort. You get some great view point for taking pictures or just enjoy the view. And looking into the volcano crater is just fascinating. Don´t worry it´s about 2000 years ago since it last erupted.

The trail along the ridge of the caldera is a great place to hike, especially on a clear day when you can see most of the eastern part of gran Canaria, and maybe even Fuerteventura. Beautiful flora and if you are lucky, quite a number of lizards enjoying the sun.

It is easy to get down and really tough to get all the way back up again. It starts off with a pathway but quickly it disappears. Be careful when it's raining as it can be slippery. As there is an old wine vineyard/distillery there it makes me think how they managed to get all the wine up haha. They do have a information board explaining the house there but not that part. There are so many pretty flowers, green trees and other interesting plants. If you can I'd recommend a trip down to see everything there. Do explore most of it! Unfortunately there are so many people carving names into the great tree there, such a shame to see.

Beautiful interior with explanations of the various areas. There’s a patio alongside another building with other donated exhibits. Unfortunately, did not take a lift up to the tower to see the panoramic view of the area. Free audio guide using your mobile phone to scan the QR code following the numbers labelled in 4 different languages. Opening hours: Mondays to Fridays 10am to 6pm (last entry: 530pm), Saturdays 10am to 4pm (last entry: 330pm). Entry fees: €6, SGD8.50. Tickets can be bought at the entrance.

For the cost of €3, this is a worthwhile place to visit if you are looking for a cultural experience. Besides the amazing cathedral which I'll get into in a minute, it is a historical religious museum. It is, as you might expect after the Spaniards came to the island. There is not that much text around there to read about each piece so bring your phone as they have an online audio tour. It has a beautiful garden and it is easy to navigate through the area. I can't remember seeing any elevators for the tour itself so not sure how accessible for wheelchair users. It is spread on two floors with arts, collections, books and historical facts (via audio tour). The cathedral is large and stunning on the inside and outside. For an extra €2 you can go all the way up to get a 360° view of the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, but you have to go around. We came from the backside we had no idea how large it would be inside! The dogs you see outside are actually Canarian dogs which is where the island got its name from.

Beautiful cathedral in lovely old town area. Stunning given Las Palmas isn’t a huge city. Really pleasant surprise. Loved mixed styles of architecture and looked like older stain glass windows were being replaced with some that really suit the church’s style. Well worth €3 euros to visit the cathedral and museum. You get a combined ticket for both and can’t see the cathedral on its own. However the museum is small and worth a around as it’s well set out and there is a lovely courtyard with seating if you want some peace in a lovely environment. For €1.50 you can also go up the tower - great views of the city. You can climb the stairs or there is also an elevator. There are also toilets just off the courtyard.

6 euros to get in, the church is quite sparse but the rooftop view and the museum gardens are beautiful. The lift stops at the rooftop, but don't miss the staircase around the back of the elevator that goes to the top. You'll get good views from the roof but great views from the top. The museum contains a lot of artefacts and a good history of the crucifix as a symbol, and the garden is a good place to sit and relax for a moment.

Beautiful church. And when you're there do yourself that favor, pay the1.50 for visit the tower. The view is fab from up there. I keep coming back 😃

Really enjoyed going here. Beautiful church! We took the elevator up for 2€ and soaked in the views of the sailboats and the old town. It was also in a great location, just a short walk out and there was a ton of restaurants and also a Christopher Columbus museum which is free entrance on sundays.

Wonderful place. Must see inside. It cost around 6 euro to get there, but you can visit the church, museum on the second floor and go on the roof with an amazing city view. Be careful - the roof is included on the ticket cost, but requires different entrance, ask about it the lady at the first entrance otherwise you have a chance to miss it.

Absolutely magnificent church. Nice and well kept building. A piece of little history. Not too expensive either. Definitely worth a visit. The garden and the little museum are great. I was fascinated with the little garden. Worth going up in the tower gives you a good look about the builds around.

A lot to do not just pretty face 😔. Buses to airport abd all around the island. Variety of restaurants information centre and bus information a few shops and ⚕ pharmacy. On Friday you have Friday Market there. Not far museum and art gallery the port the intercity 🚆 bus station.

My favorite place to go and lay down a picnic blanket to read a book! Lovely ambiance, so many varieties of flowers, lots of cool corners, a true gem in the middle of the busy Las Palmas environment. It’s nothing grand like Central Park or Jardin du Luxembourg, of course - it’s a small island after all. However, it’s really an oasis that inspires and relaxes. Something about this place really allows me to slow down, ground myself in the moment, and truly appreciate the surrounding scenery. Santa Catalina is a very nice park. I can recommend going there. It's kinda small but there's lots of things you can do. There's the Muelles shopping centre right next to it. You can take a red "sightseeing tour" bus, 25€ but it's really worth it. It's an hop on/off tour and was a lot of fun. There's some cafes and shops near which is also very nice. There's the museum of science. There's the aquarium. A very nice park, also good for taking pictures if you are interested in that. Theres a bis station, where you can take a bus to the other side of town. Also there's a playground for kids nearby. Very animal friendly park.

Beautiful and serene environment with wonderful staff and facilities. The best hotel in Las Palmas hands down and well worth the price. They have an amazing breakfast buffet and a very good bar tender on the rooftop bar. Hotel Santa Catalina, not to be confused with the park!

One of the emplematic placess in Las Palmas, must be visited. To there has a good public transport or you can use a taxi. A lot of resturants and shops on that area. This is the area where are prepared most of the carnivals

Amazing place to stop off from a cruise ship , shopping and taking in the most desirable views, relaxing in the sun whilst people watching from a beach side bistro, there are plenty of these along the sea front serving pastries and cakes. Lovely little restaurants for a lunch time meal, a must see museum in the Square. Plenty to see on our walk Unfortunately time was not on our side , but will try to re visit in the future.

Great place if you like science and technology. Place was almost empty on a Sunday, around noon. For me biggest problem was the fact that most writing is in Spanish. Some exhibits have translation but not more than 20% I would say. You can use Google translate with the camera but it takes time. It's a great little museum with a 3 story building. And there are lots of things from planetary objects to almost everything. It's amazing how they manage to show so many things in this building. It's a perfect museum for kids. There is a lot to learn at a basic level. There are also 30 minute shows about human life from stone age to till future.

You do have an additional charge for the robot coaster. Clean, well presented, staff professional, informative and helpful. We got lucky to have the place almost to ourselves last Sunday afternoon. Of course when the museum is empty it is a lot easier to pass through quickly and you miss the extra experience of watching others learn and explore. Highly recommended, especially for kids. There's just so much to see and do. It's accessible to anyone looking for an entertaining, enlightening experience, with friends or family. Regarding the staff, they are a group of lovely, professional people whose kindness and predisposition to guide and share facts just make the visit to this museum even better. You can even leave the place and come back on the same day without having to buy a new ticket. No matter how many times I visit this place, I always discover or learn something new. Great learnings for adults and kids. There are different subjects from biology to geometry. Very spacious that allows self experimenting. Numerous exhibitions are also there. Fantastic little museum that focuses on interactive displays and activities to get their message across. I thought I would be done in an hour but ended up spending 3 hours there watching 3D films, entering the planetarium and being part of the superb house of the future robot presentation. Lots to see and do for both children and adults alike.

Really cool museum, with several floors. Lots for kids to interact with. There’s a VR for exploring Egyptian tombs or walking on a skyscraper. Theres a planetarium dome, that has shows every half hour or so, that last around ten minutes. There are other 3D movies. futuristic life demonstrations showing how the future may look, and loads more. If you’re in the area, especially with kids, then definitely check this place out, they will enjoy it for a few hours. Staff were brilliant too, more than happy to show you around or help with VR etc.. definitely worth it 👍

I'm over 65 so entrance was only €2. The museum covers 4 floors with everything from jet engines to dinosaurs. Information plaques are in Spanish but trusty Google Translate makes the experience great. Well worth a visit when in Las Palmas.

Well kept place. Beautiful creatures to observe. Amazing design and stunning aquariums with unbelievable wild life to enjoy. I couldn't have enough to watch those fishes, sharks, turtles etc it was hard to leave. I could easily have spend my whole day in front of the 36m wide observation glass or in the restaurant with the view.

Outstanding aquarium with the biggest tank in the world! This was a wonderful memorable experience and although it can seem quite expensive compared to other attractions in the town, it’s well worth the expense! We spent many hours here and had a great time, to just relax and look at the bigger tanks is a lovely way to relax and reflect! After the initial annoyance of everyone at the start amassing around the same tanks, it gets better and better, in fact it was the most memorable part of our trip! Cannot recommend enough!

Wow, what a place. I was impressed, really cool way to show off the fish. The kids enjoyed quite allot. The big panoramic pool with 50m of glass and maybe 7m tall was pretty impressive. The restaurant is the only thing that is on the down side, didn't have much to offer. Other than that, this is where you should spend you time and money.

The Aquarium is extremely well laid out, clear signage in different languages and spotlessly clean. An amazing place for the people who love fish and animals. The environments are really good and I always felt super cozy with the ambience and the fishes swimming really close to you. Also you can learn a lot of the different species that they have, there are touchable screens that explains the animals, where they come from and others things!

This place is fantastic. It seemed expensive initially at 25 euros but believe me I would pay more. The aquariums are awesome, with great viewing areas and underwater tubes to walk through. The fish and othe aquatic animals were incredible. I would highly recommend going, you will have a wonderful time.

Very nice place! Enjoyed the entire visit! It was Saturday morning and it was a bit busy so could not see some of the windows as lots of people were gathered around them. Definitely worth it. Note that if you want to buy a drink there are normally queues at the first bar so if you can wait a bit and go to the second one you will get your order faster.

We’ve already visited some sea worlds before but I have to admit this one was simply the best. Everything was clean, the staff was very nice and helpful. The price of the food is a bit extortionate so best to eat ahead. Or bring your own snacks. I really enjoyed the exhibits you can emerse into some of the tanks too. Amazing variety of sea creatures big and small, many I'd never heard of or had seen in the flesh. An extremely large tank held sharks and rays among others. A huge aquarium, with many informative and interesting displays, lots of beautiful aquatic creatures and a breathtaking aquarium wall - the largest in the world! It was very, very busy which was a shame - but hardly their fault, as we visited on a Saturday mid-morning. There are multiple places within to pick up a snack, and although not inexpensive, we felt it was reasonably good value for money given the captive audience and the windows within the restaurant that gave such an excellent view of the biggest tank. I would highly advise a visit if you are in Las Palmas - in fact, we took a bus over from Maspalomas!

Very interesting place to learn more about the original canarian population. QR codes with audio guiding were a very nice and helpful way to go through the exhibitions, listening while watching them and understanding more. 3€ for students and i think 5 for adults.

Five euro for two floors filled with artefacts and information. The skull room is probably what most people are visiting for, but the information about life on prehistoric Gran Canaria is fascinating, especially the cave dwellings and the Berber inscriptions.

Wow, what a great museum! You’ll see there a replica of the Cueva Pintada from Galdar, mummies and ceramics pre-colonial times and you’ll find so many interesting things about the history of the island. Take your earphones with you as you’ll be scanning QR codes around for the audio guide (which is very detailed but sometimes a bit messy and confusing nevertheless). The prices are fair and the personnel very friendly. They have Wi-Fi access and clean toilets as well.

The Guanches also had knowledge about geometric symbolism and carried out the embalming and mummification of their dead, as well as drilling the skulls of the living. What they were not is aborigines as the museum keeps referring to them. Neither were they desert dwellers as the museum portrays them. But then another motive of Spanish colonialism was to spread Catholicism. A wonderful small museum telling the history of the original inhabitants of Gran Canaria. Only €4 entry, worth every cent. Two floors of rooms of well presented items. Great place to walk, cycle or run to from Las Palmas Town or the beach. Amazing views of the rugged coastline. You can trek up the hills too, but some areas fenced off as a military zone. Note that there are no facilities here at all - no water points or toilets.

Gorgeous for a walking. We visited it on a windy day and it looked amazing, full of big waves.

If you are looking for a sand beach with all the city beaches' facilities this isn't it. This is a rather wild area with spectacular colour and views as the sun go down. Bring some good shoes and explore the seaside , settle in one of the many natural pools and enjoy.

I highly encourage a walk to this wild cape if you want to momentarily escape the crowds. It takes only about half an hour from Las Canteras, but it feels like you have travelled much farther. The view onto Las Palmas is stunning.

Great natural area, but keep in mind currently due to construction the access path from the coast is closed M-F 7:00-15:00. You can get to/from it by climbing up/down the mountain to Las Coloradas (you can take the 41 bus there) but you should be sure to be physically fit enough to descent and ascend comfortably or you will get stuck here until 15:00.

Sand is unpleasant. Rocky entrance to water. Dead crabs. Infrastructure is bad, only one toilet, no changing rooms, but there is an elevated wooden path. Nudist area is not separated at all from the main walk. Creepy heremit with barking dog lives in a runied hut.
