The Casa de los Coroneles, an 18th-century mansion and former residence of the island's military leaders, offers various cultural events and displays. The building has undergone a meticulous restoration, preserving its traditional features such as the central courtyard and wooden galleries. On the ground floor, there is an exhibition showcasing the crucial role of women in agriculture. Upstairs, visitors can explore exhibits on both the building's history and the island itself.
Quite and relaxing place lot of history. The landscape is dramatic. On Mondays the site is closed.

We visited this impressive old building and it's surrounding buildings on 7rh February. It was shut for major remedial works, which did not look likely to be finished any time soon. Still worth a quick look if in the area, would not make a dedicated journey to visit until works completed.

This is located near the town of Oliva. Besides the art and cultural exhibition, the ruins of the outbuildings are very interesting. We had a lot of fun with the squirrels living there...a fun for all especially if you have some nuts to give away
Dr. Beate M. Gleitsmann — Google review
Impressive house which is surprisingly cool inside, built around a central courtyard. The house has some amazing history and the restored woodwork is worth the entrance fee alone. The house feels quite sad without any furniture or other items from its past but impressive all the same. Good toilets in-house.

Nice to visit of passing. Modern art exhibit inside. Was too late to go inside but the building is a nice example of Spanish colonialism.

Nice exposition, also new art. Squirrels are added bonus! I felt like i time traveled 200 years back.

Interesting place, unfortunately some information is just in Spanish. BTW - if you want to feed the little buddies there - the squirrels love bananas :D
Friederike Hartl — Google review
The architecture and history is interesting, however the place is souless as not dressed with period furniture . A small art exhibition was on display during my visit in December 2018. Perhaps more entertaining was the abundance of small furry squirrel/meerkat type animals scurrying around the rocks outside.

Little art gallery with a large garden with a lot of modern / contemporary art. On the houses in the garden you find changing exhibitions of 3-4 artists, who are local or have a link to the islands. Loved all the art (indoor & outside) and the place was well laid out, but the cafe wasn't open and we weren't informed until we asked. We were planning on taking a break half way and enjoying a nice lunch, but instead had to cut our visit short as everyone was hungry. Affordably priced reproductions (prints) of the artwork and polite staff.

Montaña de Tindaya, a 1,316-foot summit and bird sanctuary located 6km south of La Oliva on the island, holds great significance in local history and mythology. This renowned mountain is adorned with over 200 Guanche rock carvings, including footprints that seemingly point towards Mount Teide in Tenerife. Considered a mystical place with magical powers, Montaña de Tindaya has been associated with miraculous healing and peculiar occurrences.

Then continue on foot, leaving the farm on your right, climbing up the volcano along an old, abandoned winding road. At its end a trail leads to the edge of the crater. The crater, which is actually two side by side, can be circumvented on foot; some very easy climbing passages are found on the opposite side. The views of the surrounding lava flows are beautiful. We really liked this small museum. It's small but very interesting if you are interested in the history of farming in Fuerteventura. The woman at the reception was really really nice. The description is in Spanish but they give you translations in different languages. Like English and German. We have our kids my mobile phone and used the camera as Google translate so they could read it in Dutch. If you're nearby I definitely recommend to go here. Or combine it with the small market on Friday.

La Vaca Azul is a great place to enjoy some delicious Mediterranean cuisine in stunning surroundings. With an outdoor terrace and views of the sea, it's the perfect spot to relax after a busy day. The friendly staff are always happy to help and there are plenty of tempting desserts on offer too!
Very nice food and fish restaurant, from my point of view the best one in Fuerteventura. Amazing view on the sea. Amazing food and local products. Friendly owner and service. Highly recommended, I wish to come back. Thanks a lot for the 4 nice dinners last week.

Absolutely amazing! The best restaurant we've visited on the island. Beautiful location, seafood to die for (we've tried "starters": grilled octopus, fried calamari, mussels, avocado salad) and it's been more than enough. Great service and again, this place and views are fantastic. We'll come here again!

This was by far the best meal we had on the island. We tried the octopus, squid, shrimps and goat. It was so fresh and cooked from the heart, they clearly know what they are doing here. The service was friendly and efficient. We watched the sunset over the ocean and had the most wonderful experience. Would highly recommend this place to anyone.

This was the most magical evening. We got a table right at the front of the terrace and had a fantastic view over the sea and sunset. The baby squid were super soft and not chewy at all. The main (fish for two) was perfect and the polenta that came with it tasted very unique. We can 100% recommend. Decent price for what you get :) definitely ask for a table at the end of the terrace overlooking the ocean if you’re coming for sunset :)

Going to Fuerteventura without going to La Vaca Azul is simply a crime. Best seafood / view combo on the island. 1st went here 30 years ago, a "must do" stop at least once every trip to the island. My best tip : go there at lunchtime rather than diner to have the view of El Cotillo's harbour (one wonders if it ever was one on swell days as the waves come crashing into it).

The best tuna steak I’ve ever had. Perfect seasoning, raw (as I asked) inside, and the portion was so big that I took takeaway. Everyone was delighted with the food, reasonably priced. Recommend to everyone in fuerte, because here you can taste a real Canaria cuisine :) I will come back for sure. Advice: do a reservation ;)

The portion sizes here are phenomenal! The service is great and there is a lovely, friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The food is very tasty. I had a sirloin steak and it was about 3 times the size of any steak I have had before. My son had lamb and only just managed to eat it all. Plenty of bread before the meal, with delicious garlic mayonnaise.

We ate Avenida for our last evening meal before heading home the next day and we are so glad we chose here! The food was lovely, the staff were welcoming and friendly, especially the two young women that served us and the atmosphere was perfect as it felt traditional and we sat near an open window which was lovely. We had the garlic Prawns and the majorero goats cheese for starters and we both had the grilled chicken breast for main (we chose 1/2 ration from reading reviews on here about the large portion sizes but I probably could've quite happily eaten a full but 1/2 was more than enough). Also a glass of rose wine... 2.50€ so cheap! And we also got a free shot and free bread with aioli dip. 10/10 highly recommend. Would definitely go back if we're ever in Corralejo again!

What a meal at Avenida! I can't believe the size of the portions. I maybe should have ordered a half portion. The salmon was delicious and so were the Canarian potatoes. Order was taken quickly and the food was served hot and fresh. Very good service from the kind and courteous staff. I'd definitely recommend going here but possibly go early as a queue does form quickly. Well done everyone!

Loved the food, service and prices here. We had as starter the baby squid and as main the tuna filet and salmon. The bread with garlic sauce was free and the white house wine (dry) was amazing. The waitress was also reallyyy nice and fast! Tip: arrive early around 6 because it’s really busy. Will definitely return.

Not many to be added to other reviews. Great food, nice atmosphere. The portions are soooo big, but especially when you order something "for 2", like a mixed meat plate or a fish plate, it leaves the impression that it was for a whole family of five, not just for 2 people. Generous, but we felt bad leaving so much food wasted as we physically couldn't place that amount inside us lol.

Amazing place, found it on Lonely Planet guide. Typical Spanish GOOD restaurant. Super friendly service. Highly recommended. And very good prices , I think we had 4 beers, 1 starter, 2 mains, 1 small dessert and 2 shots of “mamaita” (a local drink cocktail) for just 50€ in total (you gotta love Spain prices)… We will be back if we are in the island for sure!

Absolutely fantastic meal at Restaurant Avenida. The location is a little way from the main square, but it’s worth the short walk. We arrived at 1845 on a Sunday, and there were plenty of spare tables. However, by 1900 there were queues around the block to get in as it’s very popular. The lamb chops, mussels, prawns and 2 x kids meals were all superb, and even came with my own jar of mint sauce!! 👌 With Bottle of red wine, kids apple juice and a bottle of water, it all came to €40. Absolute bargain. Will be visiting again for sure, when we return to Corralejo

Sadly we had a bad experience here. Ordered the vegetable paella. It had frozen vegetables and was very tasteless. The bread was old and hard to chew. Worst meal of our holiday. Staff were very unfriendly. Can't believe people queue in the street to get into this restaurant. The toilet to the men's doesn't close properly and my husband got stuck. Another customer had to push the door in to help him out. Tables and chairs need replacing and cleaning.

7 starrs with a few more for good measure, great service, great food, huge portions, very friendly and funny staff, really what more could you ask for ohh yea not expensive in the slightest, especially when you take into consideration the portions... We came across it by accident the previous night, could see people standing outside waiting to get in, we came back at lunch time the next day, really glad we did. It's in the back streets heading across from music square, it's no distance at all.

food was to die for. can’t lie i have a weak stomach and always scared to eat seafood in case of food poisoning but the food was cooked to perfection. service was nice and waiters attentive. as usual was offered shots after but they were in the CUTEST little shot glasses and has whipped cream on them. thought they were super yummy but when my friend did it she looked like she was in physical pain (she said she enjoyed them tho) tbh i’m imagining that paella rn and it was sooooo good (would risk food poisoning it was THAT yummy)

A little out of the way but worth the few minutes walk to find it, this is a very popular restaurant. As they don't take bookings, you might have to wait 15 or 20 minutes for a table on a busy night.... But it's worth the wait. For starters... Prawns in garlic, melon with Serrano ham, deep fried baby squid are all excellent. We can also recommend the fresh fish of the day (sea bass, tuna or bream when we visited). The steaks are also very good as was the beef goulash. BEWARE, the portion sizes are really big so you might want to consider a half portion or maybe sharing a large portion. If you have room, there is a selection of home made desserts, the chocolate moose is really good. The complimentary honey rum topped with cream is a nice finishing touch. This is a great place for a family night out and is kid friendly. Update Jan 2024 : Probably our 6th holiday in Corralejo and we keep returning to Avenida. NEVER DISAPPOINTED.

Great experience overall. It’s a bit pricey but there is quality here. Probably the price of fried calamari it’s too much for the portion but again it was one of the best we had in a week. Paella it was also very good and probably if I have to say something maybe the paella can be more crusty but it’s a question of taste. Waiters were polite and they were kind to let us sit at 22:30. Octopus was good but not the best. Unfortunately we didn’t like the desserts.

I booked this restaurant for my partner birthday. I have not been too pretentious in requesting special treats except for a candle on his dessert. However, on our arrival the table was finely dressed with tiny little heart and 2 glasses of champagne were waiting for us. I was so happy to gift this little experience to my love on the day of his birthday. Fresh and high quality food. We went for bread and typical mojo picon con pan, croquettas de pescado, as main we tried both fish and meat [my fries were freshly cut, something not common nowadays regrettably] and mind blowing desserts! Everything paired with a nice El Grifo white wine, from the near Lanzarote. Thank you guys .. you made so special our time there!

We shared a vegetable paella and it was delicious. Complementary cava starter and bread. The wine was smooth and service was excellent. We have been a few times before and have never been disappointed. The complementary touches were a nice touch. Highly recommended.

We visited this delightfully appointed restaurant twice during our weeks holiday. If you are looking for a sophisticated dining experience with high quality food and drink. Look no further. The surroundings and staff offer delightful extra touches that compliment the outstanding food. There is a range of fish, seafood and grilled meats, plus salads to please every taste. I would highly recommend a visit.

Lovely service. The food was excellent. The lamb was tender and flavorful. The catch of the day was a pleasant surprise. Highly recommended. The restaurant is really popular. A reservation in advance is in your best interest.

We were twice there. Nice place for family also. Good service. Tasty food. I could recommend everything what I eat there : seafood paella (a bit salty for me) and fish of the day (smaller portion that I used to, but we were not hungry, when we left), tuna, deserts. Be aware of booking the table in advance.

This is the best restaurant we have been to this holiday. Denis, our waiter was very attentive without being intrusive. The food was exceptional.

Wow! Excellent dinner. Everything from the fried squid to the Iberian ham was excellent. The hot chocolate cake was also perfectly cooked. The portions are - in our opinion - correct for the price, not too big but also not too small. The staff is ok. The view and the location are just stunning. Highly recommend.

Beautiful meal, lovely staff and service. To start we had calamari and octopus both delicious and for mains we had the kid goat and lamb chops and they were absolutely gorgeous and we can’t wait to got back 😊

I tried the cod with garlic, and while the garlic flavor was strong, it was a bit overwhelming. Similarly, the beef with chimichurri sauce had a delicious taste, but the chimichurri was slightly saltier than I prefer. As for the starter, the fried cheese was a tad oily. The customer service was good, and the restaurant's atmosphere was truly captivating.

Another great discovery. Fantastic restaurant. Michelin Guide 2017, 2018, 2019. Part of the Avanti Boutique Hotel. The menu is extensive. Focusing a lot on seafood but there is beef and pork on the menu as well. My starter was octopus cooked on coals and the main was a grilled lobster. My companion had prawns and the Iberian pork. Suggest you make a reservation as it is popular and busy. Great food and superb service. You can sit inside our outside. Will be going there again.

I totally recommend this restaurant. The food was perfectly cooked and very tasty. The restaurant has a cozy interior design. Make sure you make a reservation as it very crowded and one might not get a table if you just walk in.

Restaurant
Tapas Oscar is a relaxed eatery in Corralejo, Spain that specializes in Spanish and regional tapas. Situated on Calle La Iglesia, it offers a cozy atmosphere where patrons can enjoy Canarian cuisine. The menu features a wide range of tapas options as well as an extensive selection of Canarian cheeses.
Amazing food, big portions, very friendly service. Definitely order some dessert! We ordered far to much tapas and seafood paella and we really struggled with the amount of food, but because the food quality is so high, we managed to eat the lot.

Food was good especially shrimps wit garlic. Interior is also nice and tidy. Only complaint is the staff which is uninterested and disorganized. We waited for our bill for 15 minutes and this was early in the evening when it wasn’t to busy.

We went here twice on our trip. Always crowded so put your name in the register early on. We had really fresh oysters, clams, mushrooms in mojo sauce with wine and sangria.

After being disappointed at other local venues with their limited range of tapas, we weren’t disappointed here. We booked a table and getting seated was a bit slow but the service was fun and the food great. We wanted to try so many different things on the menu and we ended up ordering a lot of different dishes but every one was so good we finished them all. There is the choice of half side dishes too which helps. Pretty good value for money. Will certainly be back next time we are in town.

The tapas I tried were nothing special, the prices are high for what you get. On the other end, the wine was good! The place is very popular, people even queue to get a table. The place was even suggested to me by people that live there. I don't get it! Of the three tapas I ordered, two I didn't like at all, the Jamon was okay but average and too expensive. In a supermarket I would get the same quality at one fourth of what I paid, 14€ for half portion.

Delicious 🤤 no wonder you have to book it in advance (in person list) - phone never picked up. Excellent service, friendly stuff. Loved the experience and felt pity for everyone checking menu and then leaving. Priced are friendlier than many places around.

We were recommended this restaurant by a German lady at our accommodation, who had been visiting Oscar’s Tapas for years. When we arrived we didn’t have a reservation and the owner still managed to get us a table, seated us down super fast, the staff were so efficient, the seats were still warm from the previous diners and that’s when you know it’s a very popular place. If I could rate this restaurant more than 5* I would! The bill was only €70 for 6 tapas dishes in 1/2 portion sizes (very generous portions) and a bottle of house red wine!

Amazing food. Perhaps best tapas I ever tried in whole Spain. Very difficult to get the table though. People were in a queue outside.

Best restaurant tried so far!! Tapas were lovely, but I strongly recommend the grilled fillet steak! You can ask the sauce they have in the menu - (I had the pepper one and it was amazing) The place is lovely and they have many tables - still, make a reservation (even though they could find mine) We were served by a lovely girl, who also speaks a bit of Italian! It made the whole experience unique!

One of the best in town - always busy with tourists and locals - advisable to book. Lovely fillet steak and amazing suckling pig , limited wine choice . Reasonably priced - recommended .

We ate at this restaurant twice while on holidays. The service was very good, the waiter kept checking to see all was good at our table. We ordered 5 tapas. All the tapas were delivered very fast and piping hot. The food didn't disappoint us ! We were more than pleased with the dishes we ordered. This restaurant was buzzing with customers wanting a table. Indeed, every time we passed the restaurant, it was full of people waiting to get a table. Great Restaurant, that's well run...

We booked for a party of five, seated as soon as we arrived, there was a bit of confusion with the food and drinks order but that was purely lost in translation. One member of staff was brilliant and sorted everything out to perfection. The food was excellent, there was only one choice of house wine but it was also excellent. The food was cooked to perfection and really well seasoned.

Wrong bread served to begin with. Waiting for the correct one was quite long. Waiting for the starter then was long. Waiting for the main dish was also long. Waiting, waiting, waiting. No-one asked if we wanted another beer, no-one seemed to care. Food served and forgotten. As for the food quality, we've had better food elsewhere; the fish was a bit dry, potatoes, well, questionable. Everything was just covered with lots and lots of garlic and salt. The soup recommended as onion soup was - you guessed it: garlic soup full of garlic. Not terrible, but definitely not great. 3 stars is the maximum I'm willing to give to this establishment, and it's only because I'm having an OK day.

We had to book to get a table when we wanted usually it's a wait if you come off street. The food is amazing, it's really worth the effort to book. In previous review we saw that people said the service was bad. It's not its just that they are to the point and very busy. Take it with a pinch of salt and take in the atmosphere.

The food here was excellent and the staff were amazing. We had the tapas specials of the day and were blown away. It was very busy but we booked the table and were served promptly. Speaking Spanish to the staff was fun as they appreciated our efforts and took the time to listen and explain. Great night had here

La Playita is a seafood restaurant located on the marina with stunning views out into the ocean. The menu features fresh fish, pasta, paella and more, all reasonably priced and very good. The staff are welcoming and friendly, making it a great spot to enjoy some fresh seafood while chatting away.
La playita has a wide variety of tasty dishes (seafood, fresh fish, pasta, paella and the list goes on). The employees are very welcoming and friendly. I would love to come back and highly recommend them

We ate here 4 nights of the holiday. Very friendly staff. Right on the beach. It was our anniversary and they set up a lovely table with balloons and confetti and hearts and sang to us. They are very good like that if you have a special occasion. We just like the vibe of the place.

We had a really nice non traditional Christmas dinner. I had booked online 1 week before & was able to get a table. The service was great as was the food & the view of the sunset.

The worst ever restaurant in Fuerteventura. Everything was just disgusting. We ordered 8 different kinds of tapas and the only barely eatable was the potatoes. Within my group of friends we have been discussing the worst plate and we simply could not choose. About the cocktails, they were watered fruit juices from the supermarket, alcohol not perceived. Water was ok.

We came to this restaurant last year and had a lovely meal. Decided to come again. It's still fantastic food and service. Would highly recommend.

The first course was delicious but the fish platter main course was a deception (not fresh and nothing special). Place focused on tourists. Only recommend it for sharing first course and a drink. The view on the small beach is nice.

La Playita is a good option for a meal. They have lots on the menu. A good atmosphere. They also had very friendly staff. The restaurant is on the coast and has good view of the sea. There was a bit of commotion with one of the customers. It took a while until our food came but it was nice. Not my favourite restaurant but is still a nice place to grab lunch or dinner.

Sat inside on a chilly evening and somehow lacking in ambience despite the location close to the beach. I’m not sure the Dorada was the freshest and at 21 euros it should be . Enjoyable but not the best . 50 euros glass of wine each and fresh( ish ) fish is not bad value .

Okay lets start with say we are coming to them any time we are in Fuerteventura!!!! Today we was there and we took , fritto misto of fish and cocktails of prawns. Both of the prawns were dirty not from the skin but from the intestine!!!! I’m a chef professional for my past 30 years and never never never the answer from a servant of the restaurant have to be : “ this is the way we eat the prawns !!!!!!” I pay and I left with my full bottle of vino !!!!!! Really really disappointed!!!!! Thanks I did not order as usual a big salut finish!!! If you are tourists that you want eat good finish don’t go there!!!!!! If you love the view go there but eat nuggets at least you know are frozen!!!!!

Great food, decent prices, and what really made our visit is how attentive and caring the staff were, 5 star service and the extra mile too, well done to the team over there.

lovely views were a bonus for our meal. greeted with a smile from a English speaking server which helped with understanding the menu. food was fantastic 😋 👌 😍 our only issue was the extremely close proximity to the walkway of the harbour, people were literally inches away from our table as we ate....

Food is good....people are nice but service could be improved. They seemed rushed! Atmosphere and location is very nice by the water!

Great place, view is amazing, service very fast and the staff is nice… but… they don’t clean prawns on the inside like most of other places here (except la Vaca Azul in El Cotillo). We had also paella, it was great!

La Playita was a well positioned and all round good restaurant to go to. The owner and staff were friendly, welcoming and really went out of their way to look after us. Even better, they were absolutely wonderful with our kids and made a big fuss of them to also make them feel special and entertained. The food was delicious and portions very generous. I ordered the paella which they said could be made for one, rather than the two minimum mentioned on the menu. I genuinely thought I was a mistake when they brought it believing they had made me a 2 person meal but, no, it was a single portion. There isn't anything bad to say and would recommend for an easy, casual dinner with a great sea view.

Our favourite restaurant in Corralejo, could have eaten there every day but we like to try different places. Fantastic food… the fillet steak, the swordfish and the fresh fish of the day are particularly good. The other thing is the staff, who are all lovely and entertaining and create a fantastic atmosphere. Highly recommended.
