So lucky to live within walking distance of these wonderful gardens. Such a well named place, you really wouldn’t know it was there without the sign to it. Amazing gardens at any time of the year. Cafe has a wonderful selection of cakes, always fresh. A variety of plants for sale. One of the best places on Anglesey to visit.

A wonderful garden filled with waterfalls and exquisite flowers. I really enjoyed my visit to this hidden secret garden. Lovely cafe ...perhaps the best I have visited in the past two years. Clean restrooms and easy safe parking on the property.
Pippa McHale — Google review
A wonderful way to lose yourself for 2 or 3 hours with the bonus of a great tea/lunch room with a fine selection of cakes and food with a lovely pot tea. The ladies in the cafe were 1st class friendly and professional. I would highly recommend a visit at anytime but more so when the apple trees are producing fruit. Lots of different varieties. Please check opening times.

What an amazing garden. I can thoroughly recommend the Head Gardener's talk and guided tour. I don't know how so few people can keep the garden looking this good. The paths and steps are in good order and the lower valley garden looks very natural yet really tidy.

Wonderful experience in these beautifully restored and well maintained gardens which include a river and natural waterfall. Well worth the visit. Highly recommended.

Had promised myself a trip to see the gardens, but never made the time until today, and what a great day to visit. Beautiful gardens, tranquil, calming and very well maintained. Meandered around for an hour or so before ending my visit in the tea shop!! Some lovely loooking cakes!!! Sat outside in the tea room courtyard with a lovely pot of tea soaking up the sun!!

Visited for the first time this April, what lovely find. Very well kept gardens, the staff are helpful and friendly.outside the walled garden the paths can be steep but this is clearly indicated in the pamphlet provided. The paths are colour coordinated with red being the steepest. (But not that steep). Lovely cafe Ample parking

Great for kids and adults alike. Beautifully kept Gardens and an interesting hidden garden to explore with waterfalls and streams. Lovely area to sit and eat. You can bring your own or buy from thier shop.

Quite impressive, different species of plant. But the Google map often misguide you in different location if you follow the postcode. It has tea house where you can have some snacks. It also has small waterfall.
Debojyoti Mallick — Google review
Great place to walk around, great for different walking abilities. Will go back when more flowers in bloom. Cafe is lovely too. Definitely worth a visit.
Lorraine Needham — Google review
Love this place so much I went back the next week and took my brother. There are plants that I hadn't seen before but the highlight for me is the woodland walk. Some paths are steep so can be difficult for some people. Wonderful labour of love by a Shropshire farmer who has rescued this garden from the wild. Good tea room that serves light meals ideal for lunchtime. Highly recommended.
Robert Antrobus — Google review
Gorgeous gardens, stunning hydrangeas. Lovely walking through the forested area down to the waterfall, a little steep so you need to wear proper shoes and be prepared for a climb but at the end is a very well stocked café.
Kaye Jones — Google review
A beautiful hidden garden with formal and wild areas, all very well maintained. Plenty of paths to explore with streams and waterfalls amongst the trees and plants. There's a lovely tea rooms to enjoy a well earned rest after the mile and a half of pathways. Well worth a visit.

Please be aware the satnav takes you to a housing estate, access is via the coastal road. This is an amazing place, the gardens are beautiful, parts are very steep and there are no handrails, even if you aren't fit enough to walk down into the valley part, you still a lit and it's stunning. There's a really nice cafe too.

Traeth Llanddwyn

Mentioned on
Beach
Outdoor Activities
The sandy shoreline of Traeth Llanddwyn, located near Newborough Forest, offers stunning vistas of Snowdonia. A visit to the forest and beach is highly recommended for those with time to spare. The location boasts picturesque scenery perfect for a leisurely walk, with dogs also welcome in the area.
Beautiful spot. You cannot put a price on such beauty although they have tried and it's £2 for 2 hours parking and £7 for longer than 4 hours. It is worth the price however it is a shame that natural beauty spots have been commercialised. The access road has too many speed bumps and not enough passing places. Perhaps for the parking fee this should be reviewed. It is really a great spot. Tip, as well as the lighthouses, if you head south you will get the best view of North Wales and Snowdonia, in my opinion.

First visit with my dog and it doesn't disappoint, really nice area with forest and beach area. Many walks to choose from and absolutely brilliant views. Was busy around car park/ beach area. Recommended.
Simon Vernon — Google review
The beach is truly a stunning sight, boasting a picturesque landscape that captivates visitors from all walks of life. With its crystal-clear waters and fine golden sand, it is an idyllic destination for relaxation and enjoyment. The beach authorities have done a commendable job in maintaining its pristine condition, ensuring that it remains a beautiful haven for beachgoers. One aspect that sets this beach apart is its ample parking facilities. There's nothing worse than arriving at a beach only to struggle finding a parking spot. However, this beach has taken care of that inconvenience, providing visitors with plenty of parking spaces. This thoughtful feature adds to the overall convenience and accessibility of the beach, making it an attractive choice for families, groups of friends, and solo adventurers alike. Despite the many positives, there is one area that could use improvement: the public toilets. Unfortunately, they have a rather inconvenient closing time, shutting their doors promptly at 5 PM. This can be quite frustrating for those who wish to spend more time at the beach, especially during the summer months when daylight extends well into the evening. It becomes a challenge for visitors who find themselves in need of restroom facilities after the designated closing time. While the well-maintained beach and ample parking undoubtedly contribute to a positive experience, the limited availability of public toilets after 5 PM presents an issue that should be addressed. Providing extended hours or alternative restroom options would greatly enhance the overall visitor experience and alleviate the inconvenience faced by those who wish to enjoy the beach beyond the designated closing time. In conclusion, this beach offers a splendid experience with its breathtaking beauty, well-maintained surroundings, and ample parking facilities. However, the limited availability of public toilets after 5 PM can be a drawback for visitors. By addressing this issue, the beach authorities can ensure that all visitors can fully enjoy the beach without any inconvenience or time constraints.

Beautiful long stretch of beach with an adjacent forest for lovely walks! Dogs are permitted on certain areas of the beach in summer but are free to run their legs off through the forest! Very popular place as it’s ideal for all sorts of sports as well - big car park which is barrier controlled with number plate recognition and pay on exit with card - quite a long drive down to the car park through the forest with a narrow road and speed bumps. Public toilets on the car park as well. Lots of trails off in the forest sign posted. Worth the walk out to Holy Island at the top end of the beach but beware the tide as you can get cut off.

Gorgeous beach. Only went late afternoon so didnt sit on beach. Large carpark. Plenty of walking opportunities. Beach backed by woodland. Great views.

Excellent beach for dog walking, the best we've visited on Anglesey 🏖 Massive space to walk, stretching around 2 miles of sand. Fantastic views towards the mainland and vast seascape. The beach also has a mix of sand dunes and forest along the coast, offering a great variety of locations to walk in. Had a great time and would definitely recommend.
Sam Pratt — Google review
Lovely wide open section of beach with a pine forest trail near by excellent for Hikers or Mountain Bikers .Fantastic sand dunes that run all the way down behind the beach front. Fantastic for family beach fun and a car park nearby. On the whole a very clean beach if people remind themselves to take there rubbish away .
Dez Hatton — Google review
Lovely big carpark and the beach is large and clean and if you visit in the evening has wonderful sunsets. The walk to the island takes about 20 minutes and should be timed with the tide to allow you to get across….and back again. There are some lovely little coves on the island and some interesting features like ruins, lighthouses, cliffs and statues etc. Certainly a lovely place to visit just a shame the loo closes at 5 which is ridiculous because it gives people no alternative than to go off-road as it were.
Wild About Nature — Google review
Beautiful beach! Worth visiting. Recommended for a nice long walk. Also a good spot for kitesurfing. There was a very big parking with toilets just near the beach. Parking was £2, card payment at the exit. Toilets were free.

Such a lovely time today here. Would recommend absolutely. Weather was great also. Nice picnic benches and lovely rocky/sandy beach. Lots of shells also!
Kayla M — Google review
Lovely beach and forest with the added benefit of a view of the snowdonia mountains. Simply gorgeous location and perfect for a walk. Dogs are allowed too. Car park is a bit expensive. When we went it was £2 for 2 hours and extra 40 pence per 20 minutes there after. There are other car parks available on the main road but I don't know the price of them. Aside from the cost of the parking, I highly recommend a visit.

On a short break away and went for a nice evening walk around 7ish. It was surreal weather, windy, sunny, cloudy but utterly, utterly stunning...
Darren Moses — Google review
Absolutely stunning beach. Huge beaches that look out to sea then the mountains in the distance. Separate beach sides for dogs to left and no dogs to the right. The island is just brilliant to go explore loads of hidden small beaches. Check tide times dont get stuck out there! Good for water sports or just a stroll. A must go to beach! Even if its windy trails through the woods. Very good parking available.

Good views and the island was a great experience. Weather was windy but it didn't put us off and I'm glad it didn't, the car park was a looooong walk from the island, took us around 4 hours with kids to complete the whole walk (the sign suggests 3 hours). Be wary of the tidal times as the island gets cut off at high tide.
Phill Poland — Google review
Beautiful beach, lots of parking nearby (charges apply) or further away (most places free) if you fancy a walk. Dog friendly, too!

Stunning. Wonderful wild beach with views over to the snowdonia national park. If you're lucky you may even see a red squirrel.

Ynys Llanddwyn

Mentioned on
Island
Ynys Llanddwyn is a tidal island located near Anglesey in Wales. It is home to the remains of St Dwynwen's Church, a lighthouse, and offers stunning views of Snowdonia. Though separated from the mainland during high tides, it can generally be reached with ease from Llanddwyn Bay. The island holds great historical significance as it is associated with Saint Dwynwen, the Welsh patron saint of lovers.
Great walks. The view is good but don’t go if it’s raining

It was windy and cloudy, but this place was so beautiful. There is a big car park, we went through a spectacular wood to get to the beach. Sandy golden beach, azure sea, green wood.
Lidia Voivod — Google review
Absolutely gorgeous! Walked the beach trails up to the lighthouse and lookout point. Make sure to watch the tide before you head across or you may get stuck on the island. It's a lovely walk and dog friendly too!

Should be on the bucket list of every Welsh person. A magical, majestic place oozing so much history. Learn the story of Saint Dwynwen the Welsh patron Saint of lovers. Truly photogenic place… if you can catch sunrise or sunset on the lighthouse… iconic 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿photo. Beautiful walk across Traeth Llanddwyn with Snowdonia as a backdrop. Check the tide times to get over and back from the island. Dogs 🐶 only allowed on the island October? Check.

What a fab walk from the beach....you need to check out high tide before going so you don't get cut off. We saw dolphins and a sealion what a treat ....also there was some wild ponies on the walk too which graze there about 8 in total we saw.
Anne Chadwick — Google review
On entry you pass through ANPR cameras and barrier to car park, it only cost £2 and takes card payments on the way out. The drive down through the forest is stunning with various places to stop and park up. We drove to the very bottom car park which also had toilets. There's various walking routes. We walked along the beach towards the island. The beach is stunning with lots of stones and shells. The tide was high when we arrived so couldn't access the island unfortunately but it was still absolutely breathtaking. We'll worth a visit or two, could spend all day exploring there!

Beautiful views and such a peaceful atmosphere Lovely interesting walk and then long stroll on beaches

A truly incredibly place. This place is absolutely magical. Views are divine. Blue waters & sandy shores. We spend a few hours here back in May when touring North. I had a brilliant time with the camera. My only regret looking back is that I didn’t dip my toes in the sea! 110% worth a visit… and the walk to the lighthouse & cross. 💚🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿💙

What an incredible place! Good paths lead you around the island but just off piste there are lovely secluded coves, the sea was lovely and warm for swimming and the views of the mountains a beautiful back drop.
Peter Musgrove — Google review
Absolutely stunning place I was totally blown away by it. History and wildlife beautiful scenery. The weather helped. I went quite late in the afternoon and it was very quiet. Be mindful you can only access it at low tide so don't get cut off, although it's a great place to have to spend a few hours! You can walk from the beach car park easily or go through the forest.
S Edwards — Google review
Absolutely stunning area. A must go! Check the tide times so you don't get stranded as the water cuts it off a bit in high tide but stunning island to explore. Lovely history to discover. Loads of little secret beaches to uncover.
Chris Wilcock — Google review
I'm always drawn back to this island, off the coast of my favourite beach, Newborough. The view of the mainland above the seascape is stunning and the historical buildings make brilliant subjects for photographers like myself. More pictures on my instagram @rufusdaviesphotography. Also, keep an eye out for the island's resident ponies!!

Experience a unique twist on classic pub food with stunning coastal views at The Oyster Catcher. This renowned pub restaurant on the south coast offers a gourmet take on traditional English fare. Indulge in dishes like Cheese and Onion Pie served alongside chunky chips, or enjoy a more traditional Cream Tea or scones. During winter, warm up with top-quality soups that will surely satisfy.
Booked for my daughters birthday recently, thoroughly enjoyed it. Lovely building by the sea(would benefit from improved outside lighting at night). Service was friendly and helpful, food was delicious with good decor and atmosphere. Would highly recommend.

Really great experience. Warm & friendly welcome, plenty of seating options inside and outside. It’s in a really great spot. Lunch was absolutely delicious too. Can’t wait to go back. Don’t forget there’s options downstairs too if you want something more casual. Plenty of parking, it’s dog friendly, and a short walk to the seafront too.

So, based on a friend's recommendation, we decided to check out this place, which boasts a killer setting as both a restaurant and a bar. We swung by for a late Sunday lunch, and even though it was pretty busy, it wasn't jam-packed. The service was super friendly, and we loved the views. Now, onto the grub. The lamb and the beef beetroot Wellington were really tasty. That lamb? Oh man, it was top-notch. But here's the downer: the veggies were way too crunchy for our liking. The roast potatoes and Yorkshire pud were on point, but the veg? Meh. And don't get me started on the cauliflower cheese – raw cauliflower in a pretty bland sauce. We were hyped for the pineapple crumble, but it seemed like it could've spent a bit more time in the oven and had some spice added. On the flip side, the Eton mess totally hit the spot. Both big portions and super sweet if that's your thing. Quick heads-up: despite signs saying no to dogs, we spotted a few well-behaved furry friends. So, if you're allergic, maybe give it a miss. All in all, it didn't quite live up to the hype, but we get why it's a hotspot.
Benjamin Stanley — Google review
Excellent restaurant, great food, amazing staff and really good view and feel. We are not vegan or veggie but my wife chose the cauliflower steak and lentil dahl dish. This was amazing and something we would choose again. I have eaten a lot of sticky toffee pudding in my life as it is my favourite dish, and this was the best one I have ever had. Helpful and lovely server Lauryn served us. Wish we lived closer to visit more often!

Would recommend booking a table as this restaurant is highly sought after - for good reason. The food was absolutely delicious, as was the wine. Great and friendly service. Beautiful views from where we were sitting. Dog friendly too if you have pets! Will eat here again if back in the area.
Yvette Schutten — Google review
Nicely done out restaurant with lots of space outside including a food truck in beer garden serving snacks to punters. Food is expensive so you expect it to be top quality and it was for the most part. Steak was served with vine tomatoes or in my case, just one, which was very stingy. Chips came in one of those cups which I don’t like - it’s just unnecessary faff aimed at supplying less chips. Fish n chips portions were decent. Fish could have been a little firmer but chips were good and peas also nice. Overall service was good and I’d go again - just a shame about the mistakes.
Del213 — Google review
It was wonderful to eat inside the restaurant, not just the bar, which was also lovely, as a family while visiting, and have our two dogs sit with us. Dogs are welcome, and well catered for. We will certainly return

We've been able to get table on terrace on lovely sunny day. Staff was nice but waiting was bit long probably due to being a busy day. Big portions of food and everything was cooked to high standard. Good parking facilities free of charge. Me and my daughter had fish and chips and that was lovely. My son had steak and he enjoyed it and my husband had salad. Salad could be bit bigger portion in my husbands opinion.
Andrea Cervenakova — Google review
Fantastic location right off the beach and a good place to book for an early dinner. The staff were super friendly and we were allowed to bring the dogs into the dog area of the restaurant. Make sure you book your spot in advance. I had the Greek salad starter which was very nice and the Moule Marinier which was nice. Just wish it had more garlic. My girlfriend had the fish and chips and thought the dish was great. The inch’s cider was very nice too.

Great location amongst the sand dunes. Plenty of options for food and drink. Bar and casual food on ground floor and restaurant on 1st floor. Lively garden and terrace and all dog friendly. Even a menu for the dogs. Really tasty food . Would definitely recommend.

I'm a local singer songwriter and I'm usually performing at this venue, not eating. First time I've ever eaten there, and waw! Me and my wife decided to go on a date here, and it was absolutely amazing. Service was 10/10, welcoming smiling. The wait for the food was 15 mins or so, and it was pretty busy still. We had the tomahawk steak share for mains and it was incredible, perfectly cooked, cos on the side we delicious and the peppercorn sauce was too die for! Absolutely 100% reccomend dining out at this fantastic establishment 5*****
Josh Weaver — Google review
Nothing exceptional about this place, although decent enough to be worth visiting at some point. The best thing I have noticed is a great atmosphere with ideally suitable decorations all around. I also assume they have an amazing view during day, but I cannot tell as I gave it a visit when it was a complete darkness outside already. I ordered Cornish Hake Kyiv and Apple n Berries Crumble. Both dishes looked pleasing, however i felt like the Cornish was overpriced as it was quite a small portion with no special filling inside. Likewise, I didn't really love the crumble, yet still I suppose this one will likely please others. Overall, this place seems like one with a good potential, but just not as quite as it could suit my preferences entirely.
Mark Tarnavskyi — Google review
Really nice food, great big portion of fish and chips.. Lovely fish Kyiv was excellent too. Good range of beers, gins and alcohol free too

Absolutely delightful experience. Service was great, the food was impeccable with a beautiful view to boot. We shared some sourdough, burrata, oysters and the crab cocktail (all highly recommended). For the mains, we enjoyed the curry and seafood fettuccine. Although the portions for the pasta were huge, so you could consider sharing. The restaurant is by the beach too, which was the perfect way to end off our dinner.

WOW! What a place! The food is fantastic, one of the best fish and chips I've ever tasted. Kids burger and chips is a decent and all the portion sizes are really good. The restaurant is in a gorgeous area with easy access to the sand dunes and is dog friendly. Ideal for a meal after walking the dog. Highly recommend.

This was a surprise find on our way back from Holyhead. Unfortunately the main restaurant was fully booked but the fish smelled amazing. We ended up getting food from the shack, some loaded fries and pizza. It was decent if not mind blowing. Atmosphere was great. Good music, some okay beer. Dog and family friendly. Plenty of parking too and access directly on to the beach.

All round a lovely place to sit and chill on the dunes for a drink and snacks after enjoying your day on Anglesey. Only ever used Will's bar, not the restaurant upstairs. Drinks are fairly expensive as is the bar food but worth it for the location. Service can be slow at the bar but one of the only places in the area open all day everyday so if like us you are not a night owl it's a winner

Seafood restaurant
Dylan's Menai Bridge seafood restaurant is a beautiful, modern two story building with breathtaking views from every table across the Strait. The food is sourced locally and specialty is pizza (made on premises using traditional techniques) and seafood that comes directly from the Strait, including the world famous Menai mussels.
The food was amazing here. I had pizza and my partner had the burger and chips. For dessert I had the chocolate brownie, which was one of the best desserts I've tasted. My partner had the sticky toffee pudding and he said it was yummy. Sat upstairs where they had gorgeous views of the lake.
Lisa McV — Google review
Was recommended this restaurant by a friend so decided to treat my wife to a visit for her Birthday. Location is stunning - just under the Menai Bridge with views out over the Strait. The food was good but not amazing. I had the Korean Burger with chunky chips. I thought the portion size was a bit small for the price. It was very tasty though. My wife had a pizza and we had to send it back the first time as it was soggy. It was quickly rectified and the waitress was apologetic. As a means of an apology we were offered a free dessert, which was a great touch. The restaurant also gave my wife an ice cream platter with Happy Birthday written in sauce. Overall a good experience but thought it was slightly pricey. I know the location is probably a factor here. Would I go back? Not sure… Would I recommend it, probably.

As soon as you walk in the welcome is warm & the smells are divine. We were seated at the front of the restaurant due to us bringing our beagle to lunch, Dylan's is very dog friendly 2 large mussels with freshly baked sourdough, a chicken platter, feather blade of beef with chips were ordered for our party of 4. My word this was tasty, the chicken was varied & succulent, the mussels were perfectly cooked & a there were loads of them, the bread was perfect for the sauce, then I had the beef which just melted & the peppercorn sauce was spot on. Loved everything about this place & will def revisit when in the area again

Dylan's always consistent always great. Booked for lunch to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Asked to be seated overlooking straits. On arrival we were greeted promptly and were wished A Happy Anniversary and taken to our seat overlooking the Menai Straits. The menu was as usual good and the specials were obviously popular as they had no Bao Buns left. Our meals were delicious and piping hot and of great quality. We will definitely be returning at some point.
Clare Unwin — Google review
Overall, my experience was very good. The seared scallop starter was absolutely delicious, but 3 scallops for £15 is very steep. The seafood linguine starter was tasty, but there was a lot of grit in all 3 mussels, as well as a noticeable amount of crab shell. This can happen when eating seafood, but given the reputation and price point, I would expect them to take more care. My service was very nice, and the interior is very warm and inviting. The best part was the sticky toffee pudding. It was beautifully plated and I will be dreaming of it. I would go back, but I'd be more conscious of price the next time.

Went for a late lunch as all the tables were already booked after opening. Everything was cooked to perfection with good quality ingredients! Have to commend them on that one, of the many meals we have out this year in different places, for one reason or another they always fall short! Not on this occasion, well done Dylan’s! Just wished they’d have the full selection of beers on offer from the menu, or check if there’s any spare at their shop down the road! Will happily visit next time.

We had lunch for 3 and were sat in the conservatory with fantastic views over the Menai Straits. Food was very good, I had mackerel pate to start, followed by a dressed crab. All suitably delicious and washed down with a nice viognier. Great atmosphere with attentive, but not intrusive staff. Thoroughly recommended.

After seeing reviews, we decided to book here yesterday evening. First of all the man that tuck our order was brilliant !! Food was super tasty, all at the right temperature, cooked well and left us feeling full and somewhere we'd definitely come back too. The views were amazing The only downfall and my reason for the 4 stars, is unfortunately thus place is cashless. Not something I personally support.

Great Food, nice venue with a good view (on most days) waitors are very friendly and overall experience is high quality. We went for lunch which was just as good as an evening meal at Dylans. We had a garlic bread pizza starter, muscles, margarita pizza and side of seasoned fries. All food was well made and lovely.

Wow, all the food was amazing. Quality & flavour were outstanding! Just a shame we couldn't fit in dessert. The chips were the best chips I've ever had and I'm a proper chip lover. Service was quick and very friendly. The view and vibe was just perfect for a romantic evening.

Disappointing… We had pre-ordered at Dylan’s, yet when we arrived we had to wait 30-40 minutes for our food. What was the point in pre-ordering? The costs were absolutely extortionate for what you got. We ordered the chicken basket (you would assume it would be a basket full of chicken… not the case at all) £17.95 for 4 chicken tenders is honestly disgusting. See picture attached. The chicken was dry, I honestly can make better at home with oven chicken tenders. Everyone who ordered this dish was thoroughly dissatisfied. The hake was light, flavoursome and well cooked. But a very small dish, our friend was still hungry. The brisket burger was nice but nothing special. It didn’t fall apart in your mouth how you would expect brisket to. Also, we were seated near the food pass, it was really smokey which wasn’t the most pleasant. Staff were really nice and accommodating though, so thanks to the team! Wouldn’t return and certainly not value for money.

I was hungry and passing by, then I noticed this restaurant here in Menai Bridge. I could smell of Pizza’s from outside! probably because I was really hungry. Well I had a Margarita Pizza and some fries. I loved the olive oil fragrance on the pizza and the simplicity of it. I have enjoyed it and yes I would love to come here again with my better half. Im sure she will like it. Thanks to the Chef and the team. Also they do have really good view of Menai river from the back. Which will be more promising in summer I can imagine. I have got few clicks to share. Thanks.

The service is amazing along with the views however the food isn’t as good as you would have expected at that price point - gambas wasn’t the best I’ve had . The mussels according to my wife tasted very nice. £110 with tip is on the expensive side but guess that’s partly for the view . I would definitely give it another go but wouldn’t have gambas .

We visited Dylan's for dinner this Easter BH weekend and we were not disappointed. The food, the drinks, the staff and the ambience of the place was spot on! We had cocktails and a garlic bread starter (no pictures to show as we forgot), would recommend the garlic bread. For mains we had the Hake and Seabass (from the specials menu) which were brilliant! For dessert we shared the hot cross bun butter pudding (from the specials menu) which was an absolute winner! Overall we liked it. The waiting times were a bit more than normal for the food which we completely understand given it was a busy BH weekend.

Fine dining restaurant
Sosban offers a unique dining experience that is not found anywhere else. The restaurant uses the best locally sourced produce to create dishes, which offers a culinary journey not found at any other restaurants. The welsh cuisine served here is praised by many for its elevated quality.
An absolutely top notch evening. No menu & no particular wine list, just enjoy everything. Just 8 covers when we dined there which makes for an intimate dining experience.

Haven't eaten here for years - but it was lovely!

Having tried on and off for 8 years to get in to Sosban, a stroke of luck had us finding a booking the day after my birthday. It did not disappoint - a tiny venue with space for 12 across three tables, our sitting had 8 (4, 2 & 2). Incredibly intimate, as the experience begun with the chef, Stephen talking us through the various beverage options all personally curated & selected. Not a menu in sight. The way the evening is curated, with mind-blowing food throughout, will blow you away. If you're lucky enough to get a table, make sure to go! Sustainable cooking, mind bending flavours & ingredients, friendly staff - it has it all.

Stephen Stevens continues to demonstrate stunning creativity, providing awesome tastes, textures, and combinations of delights at his reassuringly expensive Michelin starred restaurant.

Fantastic 1 star Michelin restaurant. Extremely attentive service with first class food. Booking essential. A 'hidden' tasting menu where you are told what each course is as you get It. (Ring ahead if you have any intolerances etc) The food is out of this world. Unusual food combinations at times which work so very well. Highly recommended

Without a doubt the best place to eat in North Wales.

We had a fantastic food experience and evening here. I say experience because it's not just a meal but a food adventure! The food was incredible and the lady that runs it is possibly the friendliest person I have ever experienced in a restaurant, she was so humble and couldn't do enough for us. You will be looked after and have some fantastic food guaranteed! This would be great for a party of 4. If you're just looking for a meal and don't want to spend a lot of time in a restaurant then this isn't for you, however if you want a taste adventure, fantastic friendly service, a warm feel and a good evening then you should visit this place! Recommend recommend!!!

A wonderful taste experience - 10 out of 10 for every dish. With attentive, friendly and professional staff, I urge anyone who appreciates fine cuisine to come and enjoy this experiential restaurant. Everything was perfect in all areas, the service, the decor and the glorious food. We are lucky to have this restaurant in North Wales.

The Freckled Angel is a hip, intimate restaurant that specializes in elevated British small plates. The menu features dishes made with locally sourced ingredients, and the atmosphere is perfect for sharing food with friends. The restaurant was awarded Cheshire Lifes North Wales Dining Excellence Award earlier this year, and makes it into the Good Food Guide 2020.
Great restaurant. The atmosphere is really nice in here and the staff are very friendly. The food is to put it simply, delicious. Don't expect large portions, it's not that type of restaurant. However, the quality shines, it's very comforting food. The price for the small dishes is very reasonable, but quite expensive for the larger plates, however that's probably just the economics of eating out these days. Oh and side note, the decor is awesome. Just remember it has no parking, so you will have to find somewhere in town.

Incredible food and great service. So delicious and was a real enjoyable culinary experience! Would recommend 100%.

The food was absolutely delicious! We were really impressed with the quality, and even the size of the portions (even in the 'small plates). The Korean Fried Chicken, the Haddock in mussels and Tartare sauce, and the Apple and brown butter tart in particular were truly wonderful. We did have to wait quite a while for our food but the waitresses were very friendly and pleasant, and the food made up for it!

Flavours are great, portions bit small vs price although appreciate there is a lot of work in many of the dishes. Cauliflower was not crispy.

Superb eateries with tapas type dishes from different cuisines. Relaxing ambience, friendly efficient service and excellent food. The yuzu meringue pie was out of this world! Good value for money. Highly recommended.

Absolutely lovely food, very fresh flavours and beautifully cooked. We waited a tiny while for all our meals to arrive but the staff were very helpful and communicative. Overall, lovely evening a d good value too!

We made a last minute decision to have lunch here and could not have been happier. Fantastic food, great value and really friendly people. I had what was effectively a four course 'tasting menu' lunch for £26, and everything was cooked fantastically well. An absolute pleasure.

A nicely decorated, cosy restaurant with caring, helpful staff. We had a lovely tapas meal, a nice bottle of Malbec and took the remaining wine home with us.

Lovely, well presented food and friendly service. There was a problem with my drink - cocktail was warm and made with (a lot) of syrup rather than lime juice. But staff were cool about my wishing to send it back, I was able to swap it for another drink with no issue. Would recommend and happily revisit. 😊

July 22 visit (I updated one word on the review, it changed the date to Oct 2023) I love a good small plates restaurant and these eats, were some of the best I've ever have. Usually when doing reviews, I tend to give a four star place five stars, as people underscore (plus no 4.5 option exists). But I cannot rate this place highly enough. As someone that uses Google maps a lot, I hope people will give it a try. We booked online easily enough, which is probably prudent during busier hours. They did have a large party upstairs apparently, so that's is an option for those interested. The food itself was excellent quality, reasonably priced for small plates, with pleasant staff and decor. One couple did come with a toddler, when we went early evening (at opening). So it's fine for kids I would say if necessary. Not sure if they have a kids menu. As a side note, some of the meal names did tickle us. Retired dairy cow being the one that sticks to mind.

We came to the Freckled Angel on the back of a wine tour and from the reviews were really looking forward to trying the food - we were not disappointed! The front of house staff were welcoming and engaging and quickly took us to our table on the mezzanine. Despite being a busy night then staff quickly took our drinks order and then our food order - we went with a selection of small plates and 1 side: duck parfait, duck leg, ox cheek, haddock chowder, Thai cod, arancini and beetroot salad. My god they were all individually amazing and delicious. The service was good - attentive but not overbearing and we enjoyed every moment. If you're in the area I highly recommend going here for your food.

Loved the food here! Me and my friend had a really lovely evening meal. We shared 4 small plates and 2 sides which were perfectly portioned so that we finished without feeling totally stuffed. I will definitely be coming back for more. Thank you.

Lovely place and stunning food! Very friendly staff as well. We always make sure to come here for our annual trip to North Wales🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 We had the pork, duck, Korean fried chicken and Parmesan profiteroles this time. All gorgeous, but I would definitely recommend the duck and korean fried chicken. The pork cheek is also delicious. We’ll be back next year!

Dined at a few great restaurants in Menai Bridge the past few days, and we are glad that we ended our last dinner at Freckled Angel. The food was served in Tapas style, with very creative selections. The flavours were very well balanced with various textures, which excited and delighted the taste buds. All of the dishes that we had were delicious, especially the cod and the pork belly. The Yuzu meringue was amazing, and the chocolate parfait was to die for. The staff were friendly and efficient. If you have to choose only one place to dine while in Menai Bridge, book Freckled Angel!

Overall Experience - overall small plates are average, great place to chill and have a chat 1. Camembert - cheese is gooey, mixes well with cranberry sauce , would appreciate spicier chilli jam, bread is well toasted 2. Service - friendly staff 3. Serving time - 35 mins 4. Affordability - a bit pricy 5. Atmosphere - clean

This is a spectacular experience/meal. We ordered a little bit of everything and left fully satisfied after sharing them among the 7 of us. Best mojito I’ve ever had. Each plate was thoughtful and deliciously composed. You’ve got to make a reservation as a heads up.

Seafood restaurant
Restaurant
Located in church bay on the north coast of Anglesey, The Lobster Pot is a family-run seafood restaurant that has been serving lobster, shellfish and daily specials for over 60 years. Serving up fresh and delicious seafood cuisine, The Lobster Pot Restaurant is a must-go destination for locals and visitors alike.
What a wonderful little place tucked away in the countryside. Despite not being a big fish food fan this place was recommended to us by a friend and didn't disappoint. An accident with the chef in the kitchen meant that food was slightly delayed, the staff however bent over backwards to apologise and ensure it didn't ruin anyone's evening. Food was incredible! Hats off to the chef, who despite being injured managed to cook steaks for all of us (each one perfectly cooked to our liking). Reasonably priced made this evening incredible value and I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone. Personal favourites were the tomato and red pepper soup and the chocolate fudge sponge.

Location A* and thats just the start. The restaurant is all about the beautifully executed honest produce. Namely lobster multiple ways. Its basic, in a way that adds to the ambience. Lots of friendly staff adding to the superb experience. I give The Lobster Pot the highest recommended and would most definitely be going again. Lobster doesn't need to be eye watering expensive and this restaurant demonstrates that! Thank you to everyone that makes this possible.

A pleasant atmosphere consistent with a restaurant in such a location as this and clean and tidy inner with nice bar. As for the food I elected to have Lobster thermidor and for £35 it was really disappointing. I literally had about 5 pieces of meat the size of one and a half Oxo cubes. Presentation wise it was fine with a nice small side salad and chips. It's a long time since I've had lobster probably because as with much seafood in the UK you barely get any despite the price paid. Had I not been with my young Son I probably would have refused to pay the full price. It's a shame for such a good holiday and location that our going out treat was not to expectations. The children's menu and indeed all the menu is very good and appealing it's just a shame the reading is better than the goods.
Andrew Knight — Google review
Lovely place, defo be back! Calamari to die for! Crab, yum! The Lobster Thermidor was okay, not the best I've had (bit stodgy) however, the accompanying Sirloin Steak, a, maze, ING!! Beautiful!! Chips & Salad not bad either... Couple of issues when we popped in, staff a tad inconsistent, and the toilet's not checked, big issue for some, not really for us, this was bought to the senior's attention and dealt with, so, on that premise. Well done and see you soon!!

First class, daily fresh and local seafood. Friendly, helpful staff. One of the best craft IPAs I’ve had in a long time. Gluten-free friendly. Fantastically fresh and delicious dressed crab, which wasn’t on the menu but I asked. Properly-shucked oysters. We were looking for a seafood feast and they totally delivered.

Had a fantastic meal, we couldn't decide between starters so we ordered the calamari, the seared scallops and the spicy crab cakes all of which were great. For mains we had Anglesey platers, one with oysters one with prawns. Gorgeous food, well worth a visit

This place is fantastic. A proper hidden gem on Anglesey. As soon as we walked in we were greeted and taken to our table. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. We will definitely be going back next time we're in the area.

I hate leaving bad reviews and generally just try and feedback there and then if ever a bad experience with anything… but I felt compelled to leave this one. The staff were all lovely (although the manager needs to work on complaint handling, see further down and pretty much why I bothered leaving this review!), but the food was not good value for money £37.50 for the lobster, which I have no issues with at all, lobster is expensive. But it was tiny and I’m pretty sure it was microwaved as it was chewy and came out a little fast for my liking! My wife also had lobster and we were given a bowl of chips, to which I asked if another one was coming but was told it was two portions in one bowl for us to share… our kids had more chips each than our so called double adult portion! Brownie was also hard on one edge. A clear indication that it had been in the microwave too long We did feedback about the food and wasn’t really too bothered about the whole thing in the grand scheme of life! But when asked again how everything was when we paid, I did just say that it wasn’t great and we had fed back as to why… This is when the manager spun around from the till and snapped at me “well we did check back on you several times and you could’ve told us then so we could do something about it”… now, I worked in hospitality myself for 20 years including running Jamie Oliver’s flagship restaurant in the UK. Saying that to a guest is an absolute classic no-no!! You are basically telling the guest their poor experience is their fault!! Besides, we did feed back when asked! I was also disappointed that I’d taken the time on the booking to note down a pretty important request which was clearly totally ignored £140 for two adults and two kids. No starters. Only 1 drink each. Also found the essay on the 2nd page of the menu about why they have had to change the menu recently and put food prices up a little grovelling and distasteful. Come home and made everyone a sandwich as we were still hungry Would absolutely not recommend I’m afraid

Fabulous food and really nice service. They were short staffed but, rather than pile everyone in and then give poor service, they restricted the number of covers and were, therefore, still able to look after everyone beautifully. I have no idea how the food compared as I have never had it anywhere else but I thoroughly enjoyed what I ate and could not fault it in any way. My only regret is that they are so busy that I am unable to go again whilst visiting thus beautiful area!

It was my first time here, as I have heard that it's an excellent restaurant. The service was very good and my meal was good . I had fillet steak and lobster. The others who dined with me also enjoyed their meal

The starters were generous and tasty; we ordered whitebait and scallops mornay. The staff were really attentive and professional and the food came in good time. Our mains were superb, especially the platter of oysters, crab and half a lobster. The place is lovely, newly refurbished. We would highly recommend.

No gas for heating, so sat with coat on. Service was poor. Had to ask for a drink after waiting 20 minutes. The food was not good. Sirloin steak was like a shoe leather. They gave us a free pudding. But it was a very disappointing evening. People on the next table said their lobster was off. A table of 8, and they all smelt it, and all said the same. I won't be visiting or recommending.
