Monte Solaro

Mentioned on
Mountain peak
Transportation
The mountain peak Monte Solaro is located in the middle of Capri and offers stunning views of the Gulf of Naples. The hike up to the peak is a strenuous but rewarding experience, with many opportunities to spot wildlife such as falcons and whales.
Very beautifull view. We went there by foot but you can also use chairlift.
Alain ?Alain? — Google review
Amazing panoramic view form the top of the highest mountain on the island of Capri. Unfortunately when we got on top all the bars were closed so we were quite thirsty … it would be great if at least an vending machine would exist on top.
Alin George Lazar — Google review
Our favourite part of visiting Capri Island. It is not so scary because you are so close to the ground and views are worth it.
Emily Lloyd — Google review
If you go to Anacapri you definitely should visit Monte Solaro! Breathing views! We get a chairlift to go up and after that to return down. Definitely worth it.
Violeta Minkova — Google review
Amazing views, perfect place for an aperol break (or beer/coffee/snack). There are also toilets on the top. Return ticket is 12 eur per person, please check working hours.

(Translated by Google) Beautiful views of the entire island. It can be reached by chairlift or on foot. My experience was walking, first passing through Cetrella and then going up to Monte Solaro. The views from that section of the road are undoubtedly the best. Monte Solaro itself is very neglected, the restaurant has very high prices, the bathrooms are not very clean and it gets crowded. What I recommend the most is to do Cetrella, much less crowded and totally immersed in nature.
Lara Petrecca — Google review
Worth the ride up! You can hike up also, however the trail is mostly underneath the chair lift and not worth it imo.
Chris curran — Google review
Beautiful view but not breath taking, I would suggest someone to do something else. There are 2 bars up there but again, didn’t love it. The place overall is beautiful.
Bruna Carvalho — Google review
14 euros round trip. 11 euro for one way. At the top the views are amazing and there is a resturant (did not eat at). The chair lift is located in anacapri. We walked from Port to the chair lift. It is not fair but it is completely all stairs!!!! The views are amazing but pretty hard hike.
sharon — Google review
Great trip up to Monte Solaro via the cable car. So peaceful after the hustle and bustle of Capri and Anacapri. We didn't visit the cafe at the top but it looked nice. There were lovely distant views from the top, viewing platform and walks.
Jane Axell — Google review
Highlight of the trip, fun chairlift ride with storage available at the bottom. Amazing views at all time and a small cafe at the top.
KlippeG — Google review
A must if you go to Capri island! You can go by walk or by the chairlift, but I strongly recommend the chairlift :)
Claudiu Barbu — Google review
Great views but a lot of tourists even in the beginning of the season. Took us almost 3 hours from the Capri porte to the summit and quite expensive, cheapest way up will cost about 23 euros per person. As for the location itself it's astounding and gives you panoramic view of the island and bay of Naples with a great view of Vizuvio volcano above Pompei
אורן גרצמן — Google review
Wonderful views of Capri. Chair lift is fun and only takes 8 mins or so. Reasonably priced.
Andy Pritchard — Google review
Highly recommend place. If you’re staying at Capri, you can take a bus to Anacapri. It costed us 4.2 euro for round trip ticket. The frequency was every 10 minutes. Then you stop at the center of Anacapri and go to the chairlift by foot for few meters. The view and the tranquility during the way up is priceless.

Hiking Trails
Sentiero dei Fortini Borbonici is a hike that takes you on a journey through the dramatic Cape Romano landscape. The trail offers beautiful views of the Tyrrhenian Sea and nearby volcanoes, including Mount Etna. The walk is challenging but well worth it, especially if you have kids in tow! Be sure to bring plenty of water and proper footwear, as the hike can be quite rocky at times.
Great hike! We started walking from the valley up to Monte solaro and down to the lighthouse and all the way to grotta azzura and then to Anacapri. This segment was particularly mesmerising.
Lyndsey Rogers — Google review
Beautiful hike along the sea which took us about 2 hours. We started at Grotta Azzura and hiked to Faro to enjoy the sunset and beach in the evening. You will need good shoes, enough water and a hat (it got quite hot during the afternoon). We stopped in the middle of the hike at a small and hidden but very beautiful quiet place to jump into the sea. It was a bit challenging to get into the sea because of the rocks and waves but worth it. Definitely a great hike to explore the island, being active and enjoy the evening with sunset at the lighthouse.
Susan Kaltschmidt — Google review
Best walk we had here. Start at the Grotto azure and walk to the lighthouse. Just fantastic also with kids. Good shoes are recommended but no necessary. Don’t forget water!
Carsten Schaefer — Google review
Mindblowing hike off the beaten track. Reasons to take this walk: the wild nature, the beautiful views from the cliffs - breathtaking at some points - and the only way to experience the bays Cala Del Serpe and Cala Del Rio from land. Also, if you are looking for a getaway from tourists, this is it. Practical info: bring good shoes, water, snacks, sunscreen, avoid the warmest hours, don't forget your camera. Start from the bus stop before the lighthouse Il Faro and walk towards the Blue Grotto rather than the other way around.
Giuseppe Liverino — Google review
Great view! Worth to walk! There are buses to visit the area but there is a unique experience by walking! The capri iland must be visited by foot! It is a lot to walk but is worth it! The best views are not to be seen from the buss!
Andrei Pintilii — Google review
We did this in 1h20min. Strong pace and did not enjoy the views. Would recommend 5/5.

(Translated by Google) Magnificent walk that we did starting from the Grotta Azurra, direction that we recommend because it begins directly on the coast with breathtaking panoramas. The walk is beginner to intermediate level and requires good shoes. The walk is pleasantly covered about half the time. It took us 2.5 hours despite our stops to observe the landscape and a leisurely walking pace. Towards the end of the walk, near the lighthouse, expect a big steep climb for about 1 km. The trail was very lightly used when we went in September despite the amount of people present in the tourist areas. We had a hard time finding the trailhead, so be sure to ask the bus driver who can drop you off in front of the trailhead. To go to the Blue Grotto we took a bus from the port of Capri to Anacapri (they are about 150 meters on the right after leaving the port, follow the “ticket office” signs). Then arriving in Anacapri we walked about 100 meters following the main road slightly uphill to a small bus station offering buses going to the blue cave or fard. Arriving at the blue cave, you have to go back up the road by which the bus arrived and about 200 meters higher, on the right, you will find the start of the path which you just have to follow.

Villa San Michele

Axel Munthe renovated Villa San Michele in the early 20th century, and it is now a stunning museum with lush gardens and panoramic views of Capri. It's an enchanting place to visit with its beautiful gardens and views of Capri. Admission is 8 euros per person.
We found this villa perchance on a visit to Anacapri and loved it. The house has some interesting pieces of information but the garden is gorgeous with a stunning view. Worth a visit!
Puggles — Google review
Good view but I mean the struggle of getting there...I would not go there again. Very steep stairs and like lots of them. Not for unfit people unless they have all day. Inside not much to see. 10euro entry. There is a toilet inside. There is a cafeteria inside. Outside restaurant and gift shops and more pointless shops like chocolate place and sandals place.there is a 3200 years old sphinx to see. Well the back of it as it is overseeing the bay. Took me 15 min to see.
Kinga Szeszycka — Google review
Really beautiful place. Breathtaking views, really friendly staff. We actually met the director of the villa. She is so amazing and nice!
Михаил Петров — Google review
Home of a famous doctor/writer, with great gardens, breathtaking view, statues. There is a coffee spot on its top. Worth visiting for sure.
Ifigeneia Konstantinidou — Google review
Great view from the gardens, nicely maintained museum house, Roman and medieval style furniture. A bit of history and beautiful gardens. 10€ entrance. Saves you the seat up the hill.
NiCo PsYcHo — Google review
The views from this place are unbelievable. We had a snack and some wine from the cafe there. Gorgeous views. The gardens are spectacular. If you happen to be a birder, the bird species there were a lovely surprise. We stayed up there several hours. It was a great find!!
Lisa Lindholm — Google review
It costs 10 euro. The garden is beautiful but nothing exceptional. You can have a spectacular view over the Island without entering the garden. It doesn't really worth going in.
Celina Chan — Google review
The villa wasn't very exciting, but the gardens outside were stunning! The view from where the sphinx sits is absolutely fantastic! You can see a lot of the gardens from the terrace below the museum so you may not want to spend €10 to get in
Steff Klingbeil — Google review
A very lovely garden and absolutely stunning views. The villa itself was rather small and decorated with many old statues and even two Pompeian vases.
t??t musa — Google review
Magical, beautifully kept, impressive in every way, the best part of our tip. It seems most tourists for some inexplicable reason don't enter twhich of course mkes it ever more attractive.
Atalia Reznik — Google review
Axel Munthe, who built this villa, was not only a doctor but also a bestseller author with exquisite taste and of an admirable intellectual independence. You pay 10 Euro to visit the villa and you get incredible value: a beautiful house and architecture, a garden as a small paradise, excellent antiquities, and above all a view of the Golf of Naples you may never forget and cherish forever. Its beauty will stay in my heart forever.
HH Schrader — Google review
Bit expensive for what it is but great views Come here super early. Out of season and when we left pensioners stormed it like they did with the beaches of Normandy. Then you might not even go.
Florian Forster — Google review
For me it was an amazing experience as I really wished to visit the Villa after reading the book some time ago. I have walked on the stairs for about 30 minutes, it's a little bit challanging but with some nice views along the way. The garden is amazing and the view is worth all the journey in the end. It was a rainy day so not so many tourists there, which for me was also a plus.
Raluca Georgiana Neacsu — Google review
This place has its own vibe with old furniture and equipment from time, when Axel Munthe lived there. Also garden is worth to see - long arcade with creeping plants and best view on harbour and see at the end of it... If you want only make picture with nice view - don't pay 10€ entrance fee to vila and only continue your stroll trough pavement beside entry to villa with many beautiful shops to the rim of cliff...
Marian Valo — Google review
The house does not rise to the same level as other beautiful places in Capri, but it offers a superb panorama over the Marina Grande in Capri. You can't kiss the sight offered. I warmly recommend it for an unforgettable view. The entrance price is 10 euros per person, quite a lot for what it offers inside, the garden is beautiful but not wow, but the view is incredible
Ciprian Muresan — Google review
Great history behind the Villa but equally stunning views from above over Capri really worth while visiting
Jane Bache — Google review
Beautiful place with a beautiful story behind its construction by Axel Munthe. It costed us 10 euro per person to enter the house and travel around its gardens. You can enjoy the stunning view without paying for visiting the house itself and just walk around it.

Church San Michele

Mentioned on
Catholic church
Sights & Landmarks
San Michele is a baroque church in the town of San Nicola, on the island of Procida. The exterior of the building is unassuming, but the intricate painted tile floor depicting the expulsion of Adam and Eve from Eden makes it one of the island's most popular tourist attractions.
Church San Michele is renowned for its stunning majolica floor, depicting expulsion of Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden. The floor was designed by Leonardo Chiaiese, an artist from Capri and created in the 18th century. The church itself is a remarkable example of Caprese architecture and artistry. The intricacies of its artwork and the serene atmosphere make it a worthwhile stop for those exploring the island's heritage.
Zongle — Google review
Lovely baroque style church, built in 1719. It’s well worth a visit, to view the beautiful interior with its wonderful majolica floor. There’s a spiral staircase, which leads to a balcony where the floor can be viewed from above 😃😎
Ian — Google review
Gorgeous little church, very much a hidden gem- we didn’t know it was there til we stumbled apon it. Definitely worth the €2 entry fee, give it a visit if you’re able.
Puggles — Google review
Off the beaten path but worth a look for the ceramic floor alone! €2 entry and you can look around yourself plus go upstairs to get better photos of the stunning floor. The shopping nearby is for locals, so it's a quiet and enchanting area.
Kristen Kogerman — Google review
UNIQUE work of Art on the FLOOR During our tour of Capri Island, I visited the San Michele Arcangelo Church on 3rd May 2019. This church built in the 18th century is located at Piazza San Nicola. The church had been built to an octagonal plan covered by a dome. The high altar stands beyond the Octagonal area and is of marble along with two figures of angels in white. The side altars are in 18th century wood. The statue of San Michele Angelico stands on a side on a wooden altar. Many beautiful paintings adorn the side walls. The octagonal floor, however, is the main attraction. Visitors can only walk on the wooden pavement on the periphery of the octagonal floor. It is an earthenware floor, decorated, glazed and fired to have a ceramic-like finish called 'majolica'. On this Majolica floor are figures of Adam and Eve, exiled from Paradise, a figure of an angel with a sword emphasizing the exile. In this mosaic of figures are plants and animals including the mythical unicorn. The figures are impressively attractive and beautiful, even though some are perhaps artist's fantasies. I was glad that the floor is well cared for to preserve its indescribable beauty and cultural heritage.
Seevali De Abrew — Google review
We went to the church (April 2023) although Google said it was temporarily closed, and found it was open. You pay 2€ entrance fee, but that is not so much, and it is certainly quite unique to see a tiled floor like that in a church... Worth it, we would say!

Scala Fenicia

Mentioned on
Sights & Landmarks
Historic Walking Areas
Scala Fenicia is a long, steep staircase that winds its way up to the top of Mount Solaro on Capri. The stairs were built in the Greek era and originally served as the only way to get from Marina Grande to Anacapri. Today, visitors can take pictures from Monte Solaro Chairlift or views from Belvedere Cannone while they hike along Fortini Coastal Walk before making their way to Chiesa di Santo Stefano.
A steep climb and not for those in lacking physical condition. My wife and I are 48 and 49 and we did the upstairs climb in about 35 minutes. Downstairs was about 20. But we did it and aren't particularly tired. Worth it just for the views and having done it!
Jacob Nørgaard — Google review
It's a pretty nice walk and a good alternative to taking the bus if you want to go from Anacapri to the port. It took us 35 minutes from the centre of Capri to the ferry and it was really not that difficult, even at 22 weeks pregnant. Some of the previous comments made me expect much worse ;)
Franziska Scholz — Google review
OMG one of the hardest and impressive adventure! Every should do this once in a life😄 We had spectacular view of Capri island while getting downstairs😍 We started at the Villa San Michelle in Anacapri and ended in port. There are 921 stairs. I just want to warn people who has the problems with knees, don’t go down stairs.

Definitely, don't climb it unless you are very athletic. I took it on the way down from Axel Munthe's house and my quads and calves hurt for days! I hear there are about 800 steps. It felt like 1000! The reward is the stunning views. I wish it were better marked, though.
First Last — Google review
Lots of stairs here. But it is definitely the worst to climb on the top. The picturesque view will be your great reward for long and exhausted climbing. You may see the scenic view of the Capri port and city from here. Can recommend it to you.
Roman Nuritdinov — Google review
This is a tough climb worth doing if you're wearing comfortable shoes and clothing. Lots of stairs. Made the mistake of wearing jeans climbing up to the chairlift but it was still doable.
Blake Ericson — Google review
The rest of my trip to Capri was a dissappointment, so I was taking the bus back to the port from Anacapri to just wait it out, but fed up with no bus appearing in 30 minutrs and about 300 people in line ahead of us, we just walked. Not hard, but its a long way on uneven stone stairs, one should be reasonably fit. Most beautiful views to the Island and to Naples and Vesuvius
Nick — Google review
It is definitely worth taking this route. The views are amazing and the whole walk is great. Be sure you are careful as some of the areas are pretty steep and you can easily fall if you are in a hurry. I Would definitely make that walk daily when visiting just to take in the views you get.

Capri's 'Piazetta', which is a small square with far-reaching views, is home to cafes and bars. It's also a popular meeting place for tourists on the island.
Probably the main area in Capri other than the harbour side. You can reach it by the funicular railway if you don't fancy the 500ft of ascent required to reach the Piazetta di Capri. The alternative is to walk up the steps and alleyways which can be quite stiff and steep in places but are very nice winding through the backs of gardens and orchards and bordered with iron gates of all designs. Once at the top however you are greeted by numerous cafes and shops that you can spend time wandering around and a great view over the harbour area by where you probably arrived.
Manfred Retort — Google review
It's a very crowded place. Bars a and restaurants are packed with tourists. Nice to have a walk around and watch the beautiful scenarios. There was also a wedding today!
Luca Cerbino — Google review
Food was good, but a small portion. Maybe I didn't understand what I was ordering. Staff were very nice and let us linger without issue. As is standard in Italy, you need to ask for the bill, they don't just drop it off if it looks like you're done. This restaurant is in the upper city (you take the funicular to get there), so a bit pricier than in the lower (by the port and docks). I'd go again.
Randy B — Google review
The staff were really friendly, helpful, the atmosphere was lively, the food was excellent and not too expensive, a lovely family run business would highly recommend a visit.

This little piazza is the most famous on the island of Capri. It is situated on the top of the main village Capri. You can take a bus, taxi or the funicular from the port to get up there. The view is absolutely stunning. A great place to enjoy a glass.

We arrived with the cable cart to the centrum of Capri. There are amazing views all over the place. The city itself is a bit expensive, but that's to be expected at such a luxurious city.
Joris de Kleijn — Google review
Very beautiful place, unfourtunately the lady from tourist office information was very bad and unhelpful. We asked for an information how can we get in one place, and she keep tried to point us in all other directions, saying there is more places to seen. We tried to explain we are more intrested about that particular place and she started to scream/yelling in italian, very upset because there is more intrested things to see, why we are so stupid to came there if we don't want to see what she want, so she didn't want to help us!

Famous, open air plaza that's the central starting point of Capri. It's a 2.3 km walk from Marina Grande or 931 steps using Scala Fenicia, or during season the Funicolare (off season, bus). The views are expansive and give the perfect perch to see Vesuvius.

Beautiful piazza with excellent views and lovely clocktower. Restaurants and shopping available, side square that is quiet and relaxing to enjoy outside dining
Cheryl Menay Feliciano — Google review
The views are beautiful, no doubt. BUT, during tourist season it is crowded and it's not much more than high-end shopping (which you can do at duty free store on the way home). Think of Beverly Hills or LA with an elevated view of the ocean. Little or no soul left, barely Italian. A destination for YouTube influencers.

This place is a fish market in the morning and turns into a restaurant at 1pm. Dishes were fresh and well-priced. Definitely make a reservation as the restaurant is small, it’s a gem in Capri.

Touristy and not quite as authentic as I would have hoped. The tuna steaks were decent but plain. Best thing was the prawn which is 8 euro for one. I would go back for a beer and 4 prawns next time. Also they should have supplied the tools (shellfish cracker and pick) to pick out the edible pieces from the claws. I asked about this and the server said “it’s finished” suggesting that I should not continue picking out the meat but for the price I’m definitely doing my best!

Best fresh and tasty seafood in capri: fish market by day and restaurant as of lunchtime. Basic seating but warm and friendly. Fish and pasta are amazing. Had the fried anchovies, spaghetti Vongole and grilled sea bass, all was top notch! Booked again for another day!

Worth the hype. Omg this place has the freshest fish, simply prepared, highly delicious. I'd recommend getting a bottle of the biancolella if you're coming on a cooler evening. You *need to book* as it's tiny (even in may).
Debbie L — Google review
In the mornings this establishment sells fresh fish to the local restaurants as a small market. From one in the afternoon it transforms into a casual but high quality eatery with around 5-7 tables available for guests. Nestled in the back streets surrounding the main square in Capri this small and unassuming little bistro is cooking up a storm. We passed by as it was in market form and booked a table for lunch (which we were glad of as it became full as soon as it opened). The vibe is perfect when travelling as the service and dress code are relaxed, nothing fancy here. This being said the food is of a standard greater than you would expect from any high end silver service restaurant. The staff are helpful and attentive and talk you through the menu letting you know what is fresh and best to order. We only wish we were longer in capri to come back again. Great place!
Cleethorpes Milner — Google review
They have a simple menu, but everything they do, they do it well. The seafood is incredibly fresh and flavorful, and the pasta is some of the best I've ever had. I had the catch of the day and the grill fish was perfectly cooked and the meat was tender and juicy. Booking in advance is a must, as this restaurant is quite popular. They will confirm your reservation via email. But it's not just the food and service that's noteworthy - the attention to detail here is impressive. From the perfectly cooked pasta to the friendly and attentive staff, every aspect of the dining experience is thoughtfully considered. Overall, I can't recommend this place enough. If you're a seafood lover or a pasta aficionado (or both!), you owe it to yourself to check it out. The fact that they specialize in simple dishes and execute them so well, is a testament to the quality of their food and their commitment to excellence.

The tartare of the day, pasta of the day, and salmon tartare were not to be missed. Loved how fresh all of this seafood was and the intimate setting of 6 tables. We got there right when it opened and got seated right away. We also loved the fried seafood sampler platter. We are huge fans of black squid ink pasta and have been looking all over amalfi coast for a place with it…turns out it was part of their special pasta of the day and it was very rich and clearly handmade. Prices are super reasonable for the quality of the food too!

We visited twice. Lunch and Dinner. Family own the business. We received very good service. Tartare, Fried calamari, and pasta were very good. Especially, carpaccio di polpo e capriburger con tonno were delicious for us, “Giapponesi”, we all know the prices in Capri, but I think it is friendly prices. Una bottiglua di vino bianco da €25. A must visit for delicious and fresh seafood in Capri. Small, nicely decorated but not many seats so we were there right at opening and got seated immediately. Everything looked good!! We ordered oysters, calamari/anchovy fritto, grilled octopus (perfect texture and flavor) and fish burger (tuna). Everything tasted amazing; our favorite of all was the fish burger (picture does not do it justice) but I would go back to try some of the other dishes that looked yummy as well.

We went here two nights in a row because it was THAT GOOD. Excellent value for money - no cover, no service. The fish was melt in your mouth, with simple seasoning/flavours. You can go big and order an entire fish, a whole variety of sea food. Or keep it simple with pasta dishes and delicious fish burgers (HIGHLY recommend - incredible value at €10) The service isn’t always super speedy but they’re so warm and will answer all your questions, make recommendations and they made note of our name.

Pizza restaurant
The Verginiello Restaurant Pizzeria in Capri Town offers a variety of dishes including seafood antipasti, pasta and fish, and Caprese pizzas. The restaurant overlooks the sea, and is located just steps from the square of Capri. It is a very welcoming and characteristic place with high-quality food that follows classic Italian seafood and pizza cooking methods.
This food was outstanding!! When asking what the daily catch was, they literally brought out the most beautiful King Scorpion fish, without skipping a beat they cooked it up and it was probably the most delicious fish I've ever eaten. I've been a SCUBA diver for 12 years and had my fair share of deliciousness from the ocean, It was a mix of Lobster and Red Snapper...just amazing. The house wines are also some of the best reds I tasted in Capri! It's a total local place, there was a great crowd in the other room watching some football, it made for an awesome night in Capri!

Very good place with reasonable prices, maybe value for money is best here. Definitely the salad Caprese was best here, very good local wines, delicious food. We had one dinner and one lunch here. But… you definitely have to make a reservation for dinner and when you come, you definitely have to wait more, maybe even a hour before sit on the table. And you even don’t know which one would be your table. I think that this place is more appropriate for lunch. I didn’t like Caprese tart chocolate, they didn’t give it with ice cream. It was crumbling. Overall Recommend the place especially for lunch.

It is a very good restaurant with an amazing view of Capri island. The menu is large with many options for vegetarians. I tried the ravioli and tomato spaghetti here. The service is good. I was particularly impressed with the chefs taking good care of the guests. The presentation of the dishes could be slightly improved. Rest is great!

The food was good but the service was simply terrible. They were always rushing us, taking cutlery and plates from the table, eve though we were not finished, rushing us to get out. And honestly we didn't even take our time, we ate out meal in 30' max and got out. The food was nice but nothing extraordinary for the prices practiced. The restaurant even had a nice vibe and view. So sad to have to say mean things like these but hopefully they will be better in the future.

Unfortunately service lets this place down incredibly. Similar to other reviews, staff aren't very friendly nor attentive. We asked for some ice three times across three different waiters and the bill several times as well. Waiters were friendly with each other and quite chatty and seemed to enjoy themselves but unfortunately patrons didn't receive the same friendliness as it was all about efficiency. We were recommended to go by our boat captain and glad we took his suggestion. Food was fantastic and the view is incredible if you're able to secure or reserve a table by the window. Worth a visit as the restaurant sits just outside of the piazza so you miss the hustle bustle but still very authentic Italian and capri vibes. Go early to avoid waiting or call up for a reservation

A really excellent restaurant. The pasta and ravioli are amazing - and good wine too. The chef is nice and took care of us, goes around the tables and check that's everything is fine. the service is excellent. The view from the restaurant is crazy!

Great food in a great setting. We had the best Caprese salad, fried anchovies, calamari and shrimp and a pizza with provolone del monaco cheese and funghi porcini. The staff is friendly and quick.

Great food, busy, cheap, with view, hidden and with almost no tourists. You need to know this location in order to come here as it is off-site from the main tourist track. Will definitely be back if in Capri

Book in advance and do your best to get a window seat. We booked last minute so missed out unfortunately. Food was spot on, and we left with regret for not having time to eat all the other dishes we saw being taken passed us to other tables. Service was good, albeit they definitely were keen to move us along which was a shame - as we were only at the table for 1.5hrs. Would definitely go back.

Super traditional Italian food. Very simple, but tasty. Forgot to take more photos of the food. The staff was very friendly.

Wow! An amazing place to go when you are in Capri! The island is known to be full of overpriced restaurants, however this one is a gem! We got here by walking from the port of Marina Grande. The restaurant is located on a high hill and from there you can see one part of the island and the sea, a beautiful view. Besides the amazing ambience and view, the prices are affordable and the food was good. But I think what we enjoyed the most was the service! The waiters were so thoughtful, kind and fast! They were so full of energy! We even recieved a bonus drink after our meal, a meloncello! Overall, I recommend this place if you want to stop for lunch or dinner in Capri!

We visited this restaurant as part of a day trip to Capri. The weather was roasting and the restaurant offered some refuge. We arrived at 12 just for the restaurant opening during lunch. We were told to wait in the courtyard area but were shown to the table quickly. The view was stunning. A nice sea breeze really cooled us down. If you don't arrive promptly don't expect the same view (you may get lucky though!). The food was well priced and the service was quick. In fact too quick and we felt pressured to leave at every stage. We even tried to eat our pizza super slowly to extend our meal but the waiters dumped the receipt on the table. Overall a good value place for Capri with a stunning view but don't expect a long lasting meal.

We arrived later in the evening in Capri and not much was open for dinner. This place was rated fairly high on Google so decided to check it out. We had to dock the boat and it wasn't too far of a walk but it was all uphill. When we arrived at the restaurant, it was busy, wait time was about 30 mins. We decided to walk around whole we waited to see if any other options but found out on March, almost everything else was closed. Glad we picked this restaurant first so it did save us some waiting and walking around time. Food was not bad, and menu has plenty of options. Atmosphere was great and the service was also very good. Easy for English speaking.

Busy place with good food near Piazzetta di Capri which is the main square of Capri. You need to go down the stairs to find this place. It has great views if you are lucky enough to get a table by the window. Service is a bit slow but prices are reasonable. We tried both of their margherita pizzas, with buffalo mozzarella and without and they were both very good. Go with the buffalo one you will not regret that. Overall good place for a quick lunch.

Worst fish experience in Capri, huge portions, not arranged at all, frozen products, lowest quality, not recommenable. Terrible accustics, heet smokers inside, more mensa than a restaurant! High prices for this food quality. Convinience tomato sauce gives you a no Italy feeling.

Enjoyed a delicious meal here in September 2023. It was a super busy evening, but the waitstaff were friendly and attentive. The gent who assisted us had a great understanding of dietary requirements and helped us choose some fantastic meals to enjoy that ensured we were experiencing local culture. Still dreaming about the gluten free fried seafood and pasta!

Food was good, tasty, not the best but it was good! The service however, we ordered cocktails and sat near the window, food came out fast, so we eat than after we wanted to enjoy the view and the cocktails, they just push the tab into our table, we are only 45 minutes sitting, restaurant half empty!, we are here to enjoy and relax and this was super rude, if you like chill vibes, don’t go there. They were nice, and want you to finish and leave

Lido
The seafood restaurant Ristorante Bagni Tiberio is a popular spot on the Isle of Capri for grilled fish and wine. The terrace overlooking the beach offers a beautiful view.
Come for the views, stay for the food and service. Definitely worth a visit if in Capri. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, the food is fresh and delicious, and overall it’s not too expensive considering the quality. The only feedback would be that the cocktails were incredibly strong and not to our usual taste, however we are not local, and some may like that.

Very nice restaurant and the gnocchi was the best one I’ve had! The ravioli were also surprisingly amazing. The bed on the beach costs 30 euros a person and they have service. The only reason I don’t give them a massive 5 is that the specials were very similar to the normal menu and way overpriced if we hadn’t asked for prices (like 40 euro for ravioli VS 20 for example) and the waiters were always around. But highly recommended ! Prepare to pay an average of 15 euros per apperol on the beach

An absolutely stunning experience. We made a reservation as recommended by the beach bar, so expectations were high, but they were only exceeded. Firstly, both the front of house and kitchen staff are lovely and very accommodating. Secondly, the food is out of this world. I ordered a special dish of seafood linguine - this is the best meal I’ve ever had. It brought tears of joy to my eyes, I had goosebumps all over. I had never experienced this eating food before. Get out of the highbrow glitz and glamour of Capri and go to Tiberio - it’s essential.

This was our first stop on our way from Italy to Capri. After a long morning on our private boat tour. Our captain dropped anchor and a small water taxi picked us up and we headed over for lunch. We were greeted by great staff and we all sat down for drinks and asked what was recommended to eat. We all started out with Caprese salad and then the main meal. This fresh fish was out of this world. We met some really nice Australian folks and conversed over drinks, sharing details of our trips. Food was a touch pricey but well worth it. It's a must♥️

What an amazing experience! Our boat tour guide brought us to bagni tiberio and we were so incredibly impressed by the hospitality they provided us. The restaurant is right on the water so the views were incredible. The food was delicious, the menu had a wide variety of options for any palate. The caprese salad was the best we have ever had in all of Italy. The entire restaurant staff including the kitchen and chef were so welcoming. We asked a question about a certain song to which the staff put the song on the radio and proceeded to sing to all of us. We all sang and played instruments with the whole staff and had an amazing experience, which will remain one of our favorite memories of our whole trip. We ended with shots of lemoncello , and new friends for life. We will come back again one day .

We came as a table of 7 booked months in advance and our food was amazing and we all enjoyed our meals yet the service was so bad When we ordered the waiter would not take our drink order only food, then our drink order was taken 3 different times by 3 different staff. When we got our drinks we had finished eating our meals, on our receipt we got charged for 2 glasses of wine we didn’t order when we asked to dispute it a different waiter would come over and disappear for 10 minutes after yet still no change of receipt. After about 40 minutes of waiting to change the receipt and get a card machine we asked again and told the waiter the service was awful. He told us to be quiet! I think they don’t care about giving a good service as they know they won’t get repeat customers. Wouldn’t come here again due to the disrespectful tone the staff spoke to us in.

We reserved sunbeds and an umbrella weeks before our trip, of which they had no record. Slight mixup at the dock to the boat, but they were able to accommodate us anyway. The beach club itself was fine, high prices and rocky beach, but to be expected. The restaurant was terrible. We’ve eaten out every meal in our 2 weeks in Italy and this was by far the worst meal. Server was rude and dismissive, rolled his eyes at us when said we needed more time, and was not helpful when I was trying to ask which seafood dishes contained shrimp (allergy). I had the ravioli and my wife had the risotto. The ravioli was very over cooked and the sauce was watery. It was slightly better than canned Chef Boyardee. I don’t understand how they can call the rice dish risotto. It was undercooked and equivalent to Uncle Ben’s microwavable rice and most of the clams and mussels were empty, just the shells. With coperto and water, the bill was 62 euro, which is unbelievable for the quality or lack thereof, even for a tourist trap.

An absolutely amazing experience. We came here by private yacht and this is one of the few restaurants where you can come by a private boat( rented or your own) and dont need to pay if you going to order something from the restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious and pretty cheap for Capri. The fish was super fresh and you could also see it uncooked if wanted. They also bring a shot of limonceli out of charge. The staff was super nice, friendly and professional. The view was absolutely stunning.

We had the Sea Bass and the Caprese salad, both were superb and fresh. Service was beautiful and the scenery from the table was incredible. They also offer to take us back to the port on their boat which was super fun.
Abdulaziz Alaskar — Google review
Worst customer service I have ever experienced. So they first make us pay for a price that’s different from online, and then we walk in and get in the water everyone tells us to get out cuz there’s a lot of jelly fish. We go and tell them that they should have told us that, and we get to choose whether we wanna enter or not, the woman there tells me “you can still swim with jelly fish it’s gonna sting you… you won’t die” extremely disrespectful and so ignorant…the water also as a whole is filled with sea weed and no one was liking it. I’m gonna attach a picture of the jelly fish and a video that no one wanted to swim although there were a lot of people.

I loved it!! Incredible food. Nice place. And it’s always an experience just arriving by the restaurants private boat shuttle. Staff super cool!

We came here for the first time ever (and we've been coming to Capri for 25 years) the other day with some friends. We had a good time, rented chairs up on the deck, the staff was super nice and we enjoyed it. The food in the restaurant was very good - we shared a ton of dishes including lobster risotto, caprese ravioli, caprese gnocchi, caprese salad (hmmm...really on the 'caprese' train that day!) and the vongole saute. All pretty tasty, but at least 10 of the clams weren't open at all, and the server didn't seem to care at all. Plus we found out later (not saying this wasn't an honest mistake on their part) that the 14 euro/pp 'entrance fee' for the boat should have been credited back to us since we spent $$ on chairs and lunch, but it wasn't. So if you go, make sure to look for that.

What an experience! Being picked up from our boat and taken into the restaurant was cool and then the food and the setting was perfection! The two pastas we had were some of the most delicious pastas we’ve had thus far in Italy. Plus, a huge perk was being shuttled into Capri right by the gondola that takes you up the mountain.

Ice cream shop
Located on Via Vittorio Emanuele, Buonocore Gelateria is a popular stop for tourists in Capri. The sweet smell of waffles will lead you to the bakery where you can purchase all sorts of baked goods. Among their offerings are scrumptious gelato flavors that will leave you wanting more.
Best gelato in Capri! And very affordable 5€ for 2 huge balls of icecream. Waffles are handmade on the spot. We picked limone & ciocolatte and pistacio & taste of the Capri. There is always a queue - obviously, because they are that good - and it moved quick, don’t worry. Recommended Capri experience.

The highlight of this gelato store is their fresh waffle cone made-to-order. Ironically, the gelato itself are just average, not the worst and certainly not the best. It can't compete for top three gelato spot I have tried in European countries.

I visited this shop nine years ago in 2015 to get cake for my daughter’s first birthday. We celebrated that in Capri, Italy. It has special place in our heart. We came back again in 2024 and my now 10 year old visited this shop. We had gelato and the slice of same cake. It was delicious. Hopefully will return again in future.

Great gelato elevated by the home-made waffle cone (if you choose this cone it's 5€ whether you take one or two flavors, didn't try more than two). They also have a varied selection of pastries inside. I tried the torta caprese, which was very tasty.

I visited Capri and tested this place. The Gelato was so good I bought another cup on the same day. I recommend Zuppa Inglesie and Pistaccio. I also had some sweet balls from the Pistacceria. I even don't know how this is called but this little sweet balls where also very tasty (lemon and Pistaccio). The service was very good. Thanks for this little nice experience in Capri :)

Best gelato ever! Super creamy and not too sweet. The favors are freshly made and I can highly recommend the straciatella. Also both pistachio and hazelnut are incredible. I love that they don’t make the gelato too sweet.

This is the best ice cream in Capri hands down. It's delicious and creamy. You must get the freshly name waffle cones. Sometimes there's a line but it's worth the wait, you won't regret it. You get to pick two flavors. Any flavor you get is delicious but I recommend the pistachio, chocolate, stracciatella and panfragola.

We had some light snacks in the restaurant and they heat up the food before serving. The meatball is quite substantial and flavourful. We also had the fried bread which turned out to be very nice! The bread is crispy on the outside while still soft inside. And inside it is ricotta and mozzarella cheese so the combination is perfect. Totally enjoyed the fried bread. We ended with 2 scoops of pistachio and straticella gelato with a waffle cone. Light and pleasant meal!

Best ice cream in Capri and one of the best we ever had! Try Fantasia di Capri, Pistacchio, Nocciola, all really good! The waffles are made fresh and still warm when you get the ice cream.

This gelateria offers some of the tastiest gelato in the area. We tried the hazelnut and chocolate gelato, and it was incredibly delicious. The highlight was the freshly made gelato cone they prepare on-site; it was incredibly fresh. Be prepared for a long queue, so I recommend visiting in the morning or in the evening for a delightful dessert after dinner.

Best gelato I’ve had in Italy and my partner said it’s one of the best. Not many traditional flavours but the flavour of true artigianale gelato was there and they make the cones right in front of you. It was still warm by the time we received it and was surprised it didn’t melt the hell out of the ice cream. The wait was worth it. Everywhere else in Capri under €100 per person or far away is a giant tourist trap

Amazing ice cream! I had the dark chocolate with orange & nuts. So unique you wouldn’t mind it anywhere else. The cones were absolutely delicious. I’m usually more of an ice cream in a cup person but had to try this cone as they are made fresh in front of you, and it did not disappoint! The cone was still warm when it was handed to me but surprisingly didn’t melt the ice cream. Can’t wait to go back!
