The visit was primarily to see the Festival of Flowers which comprised of 50,000 blooms across 60 installations. It was a magnificent backdrop that delighted the senses. The theme was Life In All It's Fullness, perhaps reminding us that connection with nature and each other is so integral to our well being. The Cathedral itself is an architectural delight. The moment you enter, it is impossible not to stop and take in the harmonious blend of arches, curves, stained glass windows and plinths rising from floor to ceiling. The art forms are just incredible. From the vibrant Chagall window, the tapestries, paintings, windows, sculptures and even the excavated Roman mosaic floor. A diverse celebration of worship through art from floor to ceiling. The Chapels are perfect for reflection and prayer and even as you take the magnitude in, the Cathedral still manages to feel intimate. You will leave feeling at peace and in awe.

One of the greatest cathedrals in the country. It was 900 years ago. Currently under restoration and repair work. There is an original Roman mosaic you can see through the floor glass on the right towards the back of the cathedral. A lot of interesting facts about the bishops were in charge in the cathedral in the past. Free entry but welcome for donation. You can use your contactless payment to do this. Photo taking are allowed in the cathedral. Staff are friendly and helpful. Toilet and shop are available. Paid Parking are on the street parking or car park. It’s £2.2 an hour. We had enjoyable visit this morning. Recommend to all.

Beautiful Catherdal with friendly staff. Much warming welcome. It is one of few cathedral in England with free entry. Enjoyed watching history and paintings and arts. Cathedral is having a shop as well. A toilet facility is also available. It's easily accessible. Recommended to visit.

A lovely old cathedral. Take a look outside and you’ll see the remains of the original tower which is much older than the rest of the main building. Has a hogwarts feel to the place. Worth a visit if you’re in the area.

The moon installation was spectacular. There was a queue but we managed to be in and out in less than an hour. We were able to roam around inside the cathedral and explore its glory. There was a choir practice during our visit and they all sounded so lovely.

The area is friendly and has alot to offer including shops food venues. You can't not head towards a stunning cathedral. It was amazing to see a lovely place away from London with my partner.

What a magnificent cathedral! So rich in history and there is even a Roman mosaic floor. It’s divided into different chapels that occupies a corner of the cathedral each. My favourite was the one in the far right hand corner that is reserved for private prayer.

Stunning cathedral with magnificent architecture and a history dating back to 1075. Interesting features include the detached medieval bell tower, 17th century organ, beautiful stained glass windows, and a section of Roman mosaic presented under a glass floor. The view up to the decorated ceilings of the towers was particularly impressive. Free to visit; donations are welcomed.

An absolutely delightful Catherdral to visit. So many now are ruined by excessive entrance fees, tourist signs, one-way system etc which ruin the experience. But here there is no forced entrance fee. However the suggested £5 donation if you can afford it is a much better idea. The greeters were genuinely pleased to welcome us and give us a guide. There are toilets here too. The Catherdral itself is a gem. Not one of the largest but architecturally very rich. The mosaic floor and romanesque carvings were certainly very interesting. There was a nesting peregrine falcon when we were there and there were two experts outside pointing them out. Amazing that they come here each year to nest. Really recommend a visit if you come to Chichester. You won't be disappointed.

My second visit & definitely not my last! So many wonderful things to see. Many thanks to Mike, the friendly & well-informed guide, for pointing out fascinating things I would have missed. Amazing that he studied only a few miles from where I live in Kent!

Beautiful cathedral. Great history. I would recommend going to a cathedral service with the choir singing to get the real spiritual experience of this incredible building. The Epiphany service around the 6th Jan used to be a real highlight of the year. Apparently the Cathedral are brining it back. If you go to the cathedral you must visit the Cathedral gardens

Impressive historic Cathedral. you make a donation to enter. Peter Walker's art installation, ‘Peace Doves’ was on display during our visit which was emotive in its own right.

Just randomly walked and loved the time spent. The guy managing the crowd was kind enough to introduce himself and stated “he been to southern India tamilnadu” and asked me about northern india as well. Served us with few chocolates too. Would visit again!

The cathedral is absolutely stunning. I come here whenever I'm in Chi to light a candle for my dad and my friend who passed away this year in the quiet Chapel. The peace Doves are currently in the cathedral and they are stunning. Also a must is Bishops Palace Gardens, stunning 💕.

Helpful staff right at the door giving leaflets and explain what to see. At the right side at the end there is a Roman mosaic preserved under a glass cover. There is treasury and giftshop on site. There are toilets as well in the church. It is very modern and clean.

Founded as a Cathedral in 1075 as you approach it from Chichester town centre it looks rather unassuming. A mix of Norman and Gothic architecture. The cathedral has many treasures and artworks and is certainly worth visiting.

Went to attend the free music concert that's on most Tuesdays at 1.10pm during term times. Seating available. Today was very busy, first time going so unsure if always this busy. Check their website for more info relating to Tuesday's music events. I think it lasted about 50 minutes. Today was "Continuum" playing flute, recorder, cello & harpsichord. Very relaxing & pleasant. Donations in cash on the way out or there were contactless card readers dotted around the cathedral I understand. Enjoyed so I will return another Tuesday.

Very welcoming people. Keen to tell us about the history of this beautiful cathedral. It has stunning stained glass window. We met one of the Priests and he was really good at answering the children's questions especially about what made it a cathedral. Well worth a visit.

I absolutely loved it 🥰 beautiful countryside in a lovely area. Amazing buildings restored to their former glory, interesting, lovely lake full of ducks & a beautiful café & shop overlooking the water. The volunteers are lovely & very informative. The highlight also was the repair shop & meeting Dom & the Teddy ladies, lovely & obliging. Well worth a visit for all the family. Thank you 💜

Wonderful day out to step back in time - see persevered original buildings from the surrounding area, along with knowledgeable volunteers and crafts people who work in some of the buildings. Dogs are welcome (on lead) but aren't allowed in some buildings. There are plenty of things to see, lots of lovely walking routes, a nice cafe and shop Ample parking and toilets. Everyone we met who worked there was super helpful and friendly. As an added bonus we had a Morris dancing demonstration when we went 🙂 (oh and of course, it's where they film The Repair Shop which you can visit of they are not filming.

Great place to go. Beautiful landscapes and the museum really gives you a trip back in time. Children loved the play zone. We had to deal with some showers on the day but hey ho this is England and it is what it is!!!

Weald & Downland Living Museum was one of my first favorite places to frequent after moving to the UK. The museum has a wonderful collection of various traditional buildings and construction styles used around the surrounding area. It’s an adventure for all ages with tranquil paths throughout the museum. If you’re lucky, the bakery may be open with a fresh batch of baked goods to purchase.

Fantastic place to visit 10 out of 10!!! Visited the Repair Shop Barn. (You can look in through the doors when they aren't filming). Well set out. Friendly volunteers on site. We watched different activities that were going on.. Good cafe. Lovely cup of latte. We enjoyed it so much that we brought membership tickets. We will be back.

An amazing place with over 50 buildings across a beautiful rural setting from a huge range of UK history. All the houses, barns & specialty buildings have been faithfully reconstructed, populated with period furniture and you can get into (and even upstairs) in a huge number of the buildings. The place regularly hosts workshops and special events where hosts in period costume demonstrate crafts. There's also a great restaurant, shop and actual museum near the pond that drives the working mill's waterwheel

I love this open air museum, it definitely benefits for a visual learner like me. The pond was beautiful with sunny weather. The staff and volunteers were very knowledgeable about the buildings. The most amazing thing is that all buildings have been dismantled then rebuilt it with the original materials and the buildings are still function for example the Carpenter workshop and the dry brick area!!

We visited mainly to see The Repair Shop as it was an open weekend. I've never been here before apart from to see an open air theatre production and a classic car show so never had the opportunity to have a proper walk round. There's a lot to see and I didn't manage it all during this visit. The preserved houses were fascinating, especially as each one has a volunteer inside explaining more about each one. There is a nice chilled out atmosphere here with plenty of places to stop for refreshments. There could do with being more benches to sit on and rest, especially for those who might find all the walking more of a challenge. The tudor kitchen was open which was particularly interesting and love the wood smokiness, you really feel like you are back in time. I hope to visit again to see more.

You need a whole day to appreciate everything, so get there early! Take drinks with you, as the refreshment vans close before the main Cafe & if you are facing a hot day & are still exploring you could have 1½ hours without a drink. Staff/volunteers are amazing, helpful, knowledgeable, hard working & welcoming. It's dog friendly, but be aware there are chickens and ducks wandering round. We found parking easy, and there are portable loos dotted about that are well maintained. The houses are just fantastic, collections, displays, working life, living..... Inspiring & fascinating. Well worth the money. We saw where TRS is filmed but as they were actually filming, we're not allowed near it. Children & adults alike will love it. Thank you for a smashing day.

Absolutely fantastic day out. So much to see and some nice activities for the younger visitors like Table Top Jousting. Fun to watch even if your not taking part. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The facilities were clean and plenty of picnic seating. We love to watch The Repair Shop so seeing the barn was very special. I would highly recommend a visit.

Great day out at the museum ! I love the repair shop Tv show so it was so brilliant to visit the set ! The guides are so friendly and knowledgeable about all the barns and houses ! Can definitely recommend a visit 😊 I didn’t know this place existed before watching the shows ! They need to advertise more ?

Was a great experience. Good for all ages.Educational, entertaining, and beautiful. Staff are great, too. and of course the site where the ' repair shop ' filmed made my day love the program .My husband was reluctant to go initially but loved it too so all in all A GREAT DAY OUT

Fantastic time had by all the family. It was a special weekend as the Repair Shop Barn was open for us to take a look inside. Plus the forge was working.

A step back in time. I went during the Easter holidays and it was surprisingly quiet which was nice as we got to explore the place at our own pace and enjoy the scenery and wonderful houses. It was really interesting to see how people used to live and it was also set in a very pretty location on the hills of West Sussex. Its great for families, and people with dogs as its dog friendly too. I would recommend.

From the visitors' centre to the buildings themselves, not forgetting all the really genuinely helpful, smiley and knowledgeable staff, this is a lovely, interesting place to visit. I just wish we had been able to see all of the "exhibits" (which are spread out over a quite large area of beautiful countryside with well-tended paths), but my (82 y.o.) Father was feeling tired...we will be back...but without him 😊

A stunning location, covering many acres, most open fields but a fair bit of woodland. Many houses and other buildings lovingly removed from development areas in the south east and carefully relocated at the museum. Clean and modern cafe/shop/loo buildings at the entrance do not seem out of place.

Visited on 7th July. We would need another two visits to see it all. Great facilities, toilets, and ice cream outlets spread around site in Shepherd's huts. Lovely welcoming staff in them and the girls serving in the Cafe. Not so welcoming was the older male on the admissions counter (maybe he thought we were too young to ask for Senior concessions I'm 68 and my husband is 67) and the female volunteer in the museum. Very hot day and gravel path became a bit hard to walk on after a while. We would recommend a visit to all.

I love this place. Old reclaimed buildings from Medieval period onwards. Architecture and History and set in the beautiful rolling hills of West Sussex. All the people at the exhibits were warm, friendly and extremely knowledgeable about not just the buildings but the people who lived in them, it's a rich social history. You come away grateful that we have advanced so much and homes have double glazing instead of wooden bars. The cafe is great too.

Excellent day out with the family, lovely setting with lots of interesting buildings scattered around to explore. Most buildings have experts inside to give you a bit of history. Allow about 3 hours to explore but could stay longer. Recommended for kids of ages.

Stunning history. Was mainly going because of the TV series 'The Repair Shop", but it ended up being a very interesting visit. I love when a nation preserves their identity and culture. Very well done and an excellent way to lose some calories. Very nice people, they love to tell you about their history and past time stories.

What an absolutely brilliant place! Honestly didnt know what to expect, but I didn't expect it to be this good. All the staff were really friendly and insightful, interactive crafts going on left right and center. Kids did some clay moulds and rag matting. Buildings were impressive and gave a genuine insight into how people used to live and the skills needed to make them in the 1st place.

A beautiful spring visit for the Easter trail. A lovely lunch and explore of the fascinating historic buildings looking for clues. Followed by a delicious ice cream! We took out a membership. Only one more visit, and it's paid for itself! Plus, 10% off food. Definitely, worth a visit!

Truly the highlight of our stay in Chichester. Was blown away by the volunteers working in the museum, how they shared so many details about each house and how people lived back then. The houses themselves, to be disassembled and reassembled on site, the scale and complexity blew my away. We also caught the 2pm free tour of the gridshell building. Gorgeous and ingenious architecture. Truly one of the best open air museums I've ever been to. Highly recommend.

Last time I went was in the 1990's not long after it started. There were just half dozen or so buildings. However returned again in March 2024 & what a difference. There were at least 40 buildings with plans to place a few more. All the volunteers & helpers were very friendly & helpful. The place had a good reception area & shop ( although the shops prices were dear). The layout of the site was brilliant & well organised with information panels. Also a great map was supplied. There was also a main cafe near the entrance & a small van further down the site for tea/coffee & small range of snacks. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

Was a lovely visit, the mosaics and gardens are wonderful. Is a short trip, so would be a good morning or afternoon trip around another activity. Good activities for kids and the staff are very helpful.

Stunning mosaics that come in large quantities; really worth a visit if you are interested in Roman architecture and art. The museum display is somewhat less satisfying: too technical. Illustrations look as if coming from published articles. Better specimen would be the Bloomberg findings and Corbridge Museum. Nevertheless there are many activities for children in the hands on zone. The Roman garden is also quite interesting.

The museum is very informative and well laid out, with a great selection of things for the kids to get involved in and very helpful labels on the artefacts. The sheer scale of the mosaics gives a sense of how enormous the palace must have been, and then the models of the full scale makes you realise how much has been lost completely. Good little gift shop with a nice selection of pocket money things for the kids and other gift items. There is a separate cafe and a little charity second hand bookshop.

Remarkably well preserved Roman palace in the middle of suburbia next to the main road. Spend a long time wandering around and imagining how life was almost 2,000 years ago. Some remarkably well preserved mosaics…

Fascinating place. Great see the remains being cared for so well whilst also allowing them to be visited. Be sure to get in on one of the guided tours, so much easier to understand what you are looking at. Plenty of car parking and cafe on site.

Absolutely fantastic, the kids loved it. We loved it. Incredibly preserved. And the little secondhand bookshop was a nice bonus and really hard not to be the best bit haha.

I first came to Fishbourne about 30 years ago, and while not much has changed in the artefact displays, there are some interesting additions to the story. There are new gardens built on the original layout and a great new video telling the story of the discovery and history of the villa. Entry price is still considerably lower than some other roman sites we have visited

Very interesting and informative museum. It's much larger than you would expect. The roman flooring is amazing. We came on their summer open weekend, so there were lots of stalls & great entertainment. The gardens are beautiful. Will definitely come back again.

Magnificently presented remains of a huge Roman palace, with exquisite mosaics and fascinating museum displays. Lovely that it hasn't been infantalised as larger organisations would no doubt have done, but still a great visit for kids, as the large number of primary school children visiting testified.

Good hour walk around, nice garden outside. Videos could be spread out abit to stop crowding. Cafe could do by being a bit bigger for the amount it was serving, staff seemed to be abit short for space. Greater care could've been taken when cleaning cutlery, mine had obviously been missed Overall the palace is worth visiting at least once.

Reasonably well preserved mosaics, well-interpreted grounds, and a solid museum makes the Fishbourne Roman palace a solid destination for Ancient History fans. Bonus points having some stuff for young children - helping them learn about archaeology and Romans. It’s not monumental, but it is well presented and informative.

Anyone interested in history, especially the Roman history of Britain has to have Fishbourne on their bucket list. Even if you don't like history you still need to visit and be blown away. It is simply awe inspiring. The mosaics for Britain are unparalleled. The scale of the site awe inspiring. As someone who loves history and archaeology it has to be towards the top of my list. The information boards around the site, bring the site to life, but well worth seeing the 15 minute introductory video first and watching the other videos available. The museum tells the story of the site and the opportunity to visit the finds centre shows the scale of material found at the site. Really enjoyed a talk from the curator on animal bones in an archaeological setting which might have been a bit academic but surprisingly engaging to the more scholarly as well as the young children who had been dragged along by their parents. A note of thanks to the staff member who took time out to discuss the site at length and who for me made it even more interesting.

So, the toilet facilities, for the men, needs more cubicles, also, move the doors to the other side so you don't get stuck, also, add an extraction fan or put a smelling spray inside to get rid of the bad smells! The seating, great layout, horrible chairs, couldn't sit still it was so uncomfortable! And the intermission ice cream price, over 4 pounds for a little tub! Crazy! But, the positives, great show, great layout inside, good audio, okay lighting, friendly staff, and overall a wonderful place! Would definitely love to go back, but please, at the very least, make the chairs more comfortable!

This is a lovely theatre with very comfortable seats. The stage comes out into the audience so great viewing wherever you are sitting. We saw 2.22 A Ghost Story which we are not allowed to say what happens.

The cafe bar is quite dear for the quality of food and drinks on offer. But the welcome from each member of staff was on top form. The inside of the theatre is well planned and I can say hand on heart there is not a bad seat to be had. However much you pay

A lovely theatre which we really enjoy visiting. All the staff are friendly and helpful. It's a very clean place and we always have enjoyable visits. It's ideal being so close to a large car park. The shows are varied and tickets can be reasonably purchased. The ice cream they sell is very nice too!

Our first visit to the Chichester Festival Theatre ( Christmas 2023 ) with the mixed age family (9--80) was a real pleasure, with two boys aged 9 and 11 who can be a bit noisy at times, throughout the entire performance we didn't even notice that they were there, they were engrossed with the mainly school children aged cast preforming a version of The Jungle Book. First of all, a large car park to park in, a really nice cafe to enjoy light refreshments before the performances and then comfortable seating to watch the stage in full view and enjoy whatever was put in place for us to watch. If you enjoy the performance's that they put on, I would definitely recommend you to go and watch them and have a pleasant visit and enjoy yourself.

Lovely venue, the seats were comfy. I was seated at the side, my view wasn't obstructed at all and I didn't miss a thing. Seats are cosily close to each other. Huge car park not far and it's free after 8pm. I didn't purchase any drinks or ice cream so I can't comment on the price. All staff were friendly too. Tickets are easy to book on their website too and they were delivered instantly via email

A little outdated building outside but nicely situated close to the centre. Lovely coffee and surprisingly great performance with all lights, sound and vision effects. Would recommend walk along medieval city walls.

Visited for first performance of Assassins. Great cast and the staging was excellent. My first visit to the theatre and exceeded my expectations. Comfortable seats with excellent views. I can't imagine that there's a poor seat in the house.

A theatre that is a Grade II listed building situated in Oaklands Park. Superb settings, huge car park nearby, lovely bar and restaurant and the theatre itself is exceptional. Viewing is perfect, seating comfortable, and acoustics are second to none. It is one of those rare venues that can offer the setting for music, drama, and all types of artistic performance on a stage that involves the audience. Seats about 1300 people, and has plenty of easy access for all. Over the years greats such as Marlene Dietrich and Rex Harrison, Hugh Bonneville and Dervla Kirwan have all appeared here. More recently, Mark Rylance in I Am Shakespeare, Lara Pulver as Louise in Gypsy, Ian McKellen as Lear to name but a few. Check out their programme of events to come, you will not be disappointed. Plus the fact there’s an excellent park run right out side every Saturday morning, if you can get round the grassy up and downhill, three lap course in under 22 mins you’ll be doing well! 🌮 🎭🍻🎻🎼 🏃🏽‍♂️🌿 🌳

What a great place to see a show. Have been here twice, I would definitely go again. It is so intimate, the way the stage is part of the audience. Also the building is a throwback to another time, when we built interesting public buildings. As far as the show goes, we sawThe Life of Pi. It was a last minute decision, I had not idea what it was about, but it was a treat, see it if you can

Went to see The Jungle Book by the Chichester Theatre youth. Wasn't what we expected but the show was brilliant. We really enjoyed our evening out and we look forward to going to the theatre again.

All I can say is why haven’t I been to Chichester Festival Theatre sooner! I’ve lived here for 14 years and have been told by numerous patients you must go! I was told by loads of patients that Sound of Music is the best show they have seen at Chichester Festival Theatre 🎭 . From ease of parking close to the theatre, to lovely outdoor live music and prior to attending the efficiency of buying and getting tickets via email was all brilliant. I went to see Sound of Music with my parents, a treat to them for helping out so much with childcare over the summer holidays, as with many friends we rely heavily on grandparents especially in the summmer holidays, so we can work! The sound quality, music, dancing, stage set up (reminded me of being in a amphitheater) was better than most London Shows I’ve seen. I will definitely be coming again soon and be recommending CFT to all my family, friends and patients. Thank you to everyone involved from behind the scenes managers for leading an amazing team of people, front of house staff, bar staff, cleaners (everything was lovely and clean), musicians, stage and lighting teams. Finally the performers especially the children, you were all amazing, so much energy and love for what you were performing. Thanks so much for making it such an enjoyable evening.

Been here twice (for Crazy for You and Assassins) and it doesn’t disappoint. One of the best regional theatres, with great pre-show facilities and routinely brilliant productions. No seat’s a bad seat and the pricing on their 30-and-under ticket scheme is extremely generous.

Wonderful theatre half "in the round", excellent views from any seat, everything is in good order, staff are friendly, excellent selection of shows. The additional post-show talk is a fantastic addition, will be looking out actively for it on future bookings. Always have a lovely time here!

The performance of "We're Going on A Bear Hunt" was fantastic. The adaptation was brilliantly performed by a very multi-talented cast who kept the pace of the story with great skill and the perfect amount of audience interaction. Children's theatre could easily be overlooked but watching this performance with my grand-daughter proved just how professional actors need to be to hold attention and be so engaging. I loved the show and oh yes - so did my granddaughter! Thank you Chichester Festival Theatre - a triumph for the young ones!

What a phenomenal place! This was my second visit & I loved it as much as my first. Assassins is an outstanding production in an amazing venue. The food in the Brasserie was excellent too. Thanks to everyone who made my visit so enjoyable!

Absolutely amazing day out! Volunteers go above and beyond to assist you in every need possible. There are multiple simulators there and cockpits you can sit in. All volunteers were highly equipped with great knowledge and eager to pass it on. The museum was highly informative and interactive and the exhibition was great. The cockpit cafe was good as well! The gift shop has a lot of selection and well priced. I highly recommend this place to anyone considering it⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Lots to see. Lots of history to take in, and little simulators to show your flying skills. Great day out. First time back in about 30years! Thank you for having us. Highly recommend!!!

An excellent aviation museum, extremely professionally run by volunteers. It's open most days during it's opening season but it closes during the winter. For a small museum it has a good selection of aircraft including many unique aircraft such as two record breakers. Aircraft are split between hangers and outdoors. On top of this there are lots of interesting exhibits and displays including some unique items such as the "anatomy of a bombing raid" exhibit which is a must see. Another big highlight is the Lightning flight simulator, this is a must do if it's open. It also has it's own café. All the volunteer staff are very friendly, enthusiastic and helpful. It's a must visit museum for any aviation enthusiasts.

We as a family with 2 kids had the best experience at the museum. It is very interactive for kids with flight and air battle simulations. There are several displays with buttons to be pressed in order to how things used to work. Besides, for whom is from southern area, it great to get more familiar with the squadron 43 story, which is very interesting.

I've been coming to the Tangmere military aviation museum since the Eighties, when it was just a shack, a Hawker Hunter and a Lockheed Shooting Star. There were a lot of old RAF-pilots around, back then, so I did hear the war stories from them personally. Now, they're gone and the museum has grown. They've added some displays outside (an F-4, a Vixen, two Harriers, a Folland Gnat and a Westland Wessex) and quite some more inside. There's the "old" section, with display panels, dioramas and stuff recovered from Luftwaffe wreckage, but we now also have a larger hall with aircraft: a replica of the Spitfire-prototype, a Hunter, a Hurricane, a Meteor, a Canberra cockpit and (super nice!) and accessible Hunter and Spitfire cockpit. This is always a fantastic place to come. The guides like to be here, that's obvious, and there's many unexpected little corners. I was here a long time ago and now, I can show my own son around. Tip: entry is cheap, but food is not. Personally, I would bring sandwiches and donate what money you expected to spend on those, directly to the museum.

Not our first visit, and won't be our last.. Each time we visit, we see something new. Very informative displays and incredible aircrafts to see, and friendly volunteers around the establishment answering questions or telling further information not stated on display boards. Highly recommend for all ages!

This aviation museum is a real gem! A good collection of aircraft and a huge selection of historical artifacts. The volunteers are friendly, enthusiastic and very knowledgeable and really make the visit special. Many of them have personal experience of flying some of the more recent aircraft. The cafe can be visited separately from the museum and serves great coffee, cakes, sandwiches and hot food. Allow a few hours for your visit.

I had never heard of this place until I seen the advert on the back of a bus. It's a small museum but every inch is full of interesting artefacts and its not a bad price to get in either compared to some places. The crashed plane that has all the damaged pieces placed back where they would have been is an eye opener and its amazing to see what they were made of. The staff were all very friendly and even tho they were volunteers you could tell that they loved being there. They were very knowledgeable and were happy to answer any questions we had. We are a group of bikers and they didn't treat us any differently which is refreshing. The cafe was lovely and the prices were affordable. There was a good range of food and it was great quality. The bread looked delicious. It wasn't slow in serving us and they had tables inside and out. The coffee was good too. Overall we had a great day out and we will deffo go back again. We'll worth a visit.

What a smashing day, met some amazing engineers that were simply bursting at the seams with knowledge about everything that stood inside the hangers. Everyone was so very friendly and helpful. Thanks for such a wonderful day.

Great museum! I have been to a few aircraft museums where the exhibits look tired, but full marks to everyone for the quality of the aircraft and exhibits. In addition to the aircraft there is a large range of reaaly interesting other exhibits from various era's. The volunteers are very friendly. And finally was even able to get a vegan cupcake from the cafe!

Lots of info on the battle for Britain with Tangmere's roll as a main squadron hub for the south coast. Many personal artifacts from past pilots upto when it was closed as a RAF base. Aircraft from the 40 to 60's on display. There is a little cafe inside which is nice after walking around the display cabinets. Some with interactive controls. Unless you have a wide angle lens, it is difficult to get an aircraft inside in full view.

A hidden gem. We didn't know the museum existed until browsing Google maps for things to do in the Chichester area. It was a lovely Saturday morning visit with great plane exhibits, hands on simulators for the kids (and adults) and lots of informative and interesting displays. The teddy bear hunt captivated our youngest two. It was fairly quiet when we were there (I have no idea if that is normally the case) so it felt a little OTT with the number of staff members around, however they were all very friendly and helpful. The cafe offered a good range of drinks and food too.

An absolute brilliant day. So much to see and do. Huge thanks to all the volunteers who were so gracious spending their time with us and sharing lots of information. Special mention to Debbie and Roger. Can't speak highly enough of them both. John and Pauline Flynn Crawley.

Great place to visit and volunteers are so helpful if you have any questions. Great for children as well. Allow at least 4/5 hours for your visit. Also great little cafe that has gluten free options.

Family day out whilst staying nearby . This place is quite deceptive as looks small but once inside plenty to see and do , the volunteers are fantastic and there's some great exhibitions and things for the kids to do . The cafe and shop are also great

I went there when my dad hadn’t told me that there was an EE lightening. We met a wonderful man - Trevor - who explained lots about a wreckage of a hawker hurricane and its story. He then told us about his life and how he was a pilot in the RAF and flew EE lightenings and was deployed to Singapore and Saudi Arabia to train pilots and after his 10 year career in the RAF , his career as a pilot for Cathay Pacific Airlines where he flew Boeing 747s and told us about the famous Hong Kong descent. He let me see the inside of the EE lightening cockpit and helped me with the flight sim of the EE lightening. He explained lots about the EE lightening and helped lots. He gave so much of his time to us. He was very kind and I respect him very highly. Trevor , if you are reading this , I’m using my mums account because mine isn’t set up properly. You have made me want to be a RAF fighter pilot even more!Thank you very much for your time , thank you for your service and take care. - George

Amazing collection of War time memorabilia. So much to see, listen to and watch film. Great to see the Aircraft in the hangers so close up. Very friendly staff to chat to, amazing stories. Need to visit again, as I didn't allow enough time on this first visit to see and hear everything.

Well there is so much to see here its amazing. The attached picture was the most bonkers thing I've seen in ages...! We've been to plenty of these aviation museums and there's always something new to see at each one. The staff here are all ex-pilots or aviation enthusiasts by all accounts, as well and are a wealth of knowledge. You could spend half a day here reading everything without any problem. 100% recommend, unless your kids are into Pikachu and not planes (or bits of planes). : )

Wow! Visited with my son. We haven't been fir many years and we were pleasantly surprised. What a difference. The Hurricane display was worth the entrance fee on its own. We were both impressed with the knowledgeable and friendly staff. Pet in the hangers was particularly keen and friendly. Cannot recommend this museum enough. Looking forward to our next visit.

What a wonderful museum full of lovely enthusiastic people. The displays are great and the volunteers are brilliant. They take their time to engage with you and show you things and they are all great with the children. We should all support these museums as we are lucky to have them. Showing a time when Britain and the people were great. We will be back to support them.

This is one of the most beautiful gardens to visit in the British Isles, and is spectacular in all seasons (although my favourites are spring and summer!). The Victorian glasshouses, walled kitchen gardens and Edwardian pergola designed by Harold Peto are particular highlights, but there is so much to explore. Absolutely necessary to visit on a sunny day if you’re anywhere near. I can’t wait to visit again!

Beautiful gardens surrounding West Dean college. You have a choice if becoming an annual member or paying a one-off entrance fee. At the time of our visit in March 2022 the costs were £36 and £12 respectively. The gardens are very extensive and you could easily spend a whole day there. There are fairly lengthy walks to the nearby low hills. Even in March when you wouldn’t expect there to be much to see there were some beautiful displays - especially if blossoming fruit trees and in the lovely restored Victorian greenhouses. There’s a small cafe for refreshments.

Did plan to visit the gardens as we were just driving past, so glad we decided to pull in and have a look around. Beautiful extensive gardens to stretch our legs and take in the views. Plenty of greenhouses with exotic plants along with vegetable patches. The day we visited there was an artist painting group spread throughout the estate with their artist easels and paintbrushes. Well worth a visit.

Although we have visited West Dean Gardens many times for the first time we went round the back of the house and following the path came across an oasis of beautiful areas. Simply stunning. Every season is different so I advise several trips throughout the year. Plants are also available to buy. Consider taking a picnic as the tea rooms can be very busy in the summer months and quite expensive. Great day out for all 💕

It's so beautiful here with the river Lavant running right through the gardens. Lots of areas to attract wildlife. Stunning views of the rolling hills. Dog friendly. Lovely food. Great gift shop, especially the choice of cards and socks!

The grounds as you can see from my pictures are lovely. There are a few nods to making space for wildlife but this felt like something they are in the early stages of embracing. The kitchen garden is quite small but looked well looked after, concentrating on a few seasonal crops at a time to top up the cafés offerings. There are underutilised extensive glasshouses of varying sorts, an orchard, various mature 'garden' set ups and an obvious penchant for alliums. Most of the grounds are accessible for those with lower mobility. Plenty on benches, several available wheelchairs and well laid paths. There were some children there with their older grandparents but it's not somewhere I'd take children.

Great day out. Perfect for my 18 month old (we have an off road pushchair) he loves running around and seeing the ducklings and lambs. Beautiful flowers and greenhouses. Some really good walks, you can easily spend the whole day here so it's a good idea to bring a picnic.

A very picturesque garden with a variety of areas. Takes about 2 hours to walk around the main gardens, add an hour if you want to do the countryside loop. Most of the planting is pollinator friendly so loads of bees and butterflies. A lovely pergola and several little summer houses for a sit down in the shade.

First time visit this week (mid-November) and whilst all the plants are over it is still well worth going. Very well laid out with multiples areas to see. For the fit amongst us there are also a couple of walks around the woodland. Restaurant is also worth a visit with food freshly cooked and tasty. All in all a good day out.

Such a stunning garden, I felt like I had walked into a painting, with tumbling hills dotted with sheep on the left as you go in. The garden was full of different types of bee and butterflies, such great planting , it’s well worth a visit. The cafe was lovely too, the homemade gooseberry crumble was delicious ( gooseberries from their garden) Also it’s dog friendly ❤️ can’t wait to go back!

We went on a midweek late morning in June and found a parking space ok, The gardens were relatively quiet, and the marked 'orange' trail was very quiet with only a few other people to be seen. Amazing views and gardens, and well worth a visit. They have plant sales, shop and café with seats inside and out. We had another visit in October and were a bit disappointed to see the chalk stream dry, but great to see so many other things to see at this time of the year.

What a beautiful place. Ideal for just wandering around the beautifully kept gardens. For the more adventurous you can do the circular walk up & over the hill. The views from the top of the hill are amazing, plus many beautiful varieties of rhododendrons in colourful splendor. We visited The Gardener's Tea room, the cream tea was delicious 😋.

Wonderful greenhouses, full of unusual plants,that led onto the cutting garden. I've never seen so many delphiniums, and beautiful dahlias etc. Then onto the garden that had lovely views, and low bridges, and streams. The gravel garden was beautiful.

Absolutely superb garden! Beautiful areas to appreciate and all the plants looked very healthy and the gardeners are doing a great job! Restaurant staff and food were also great, all in all a very good experience.

This garden's flowers are so amazing & ever changing that they warrant a visit every fornight to be sure not to miss any. Today's beauties are below and includes the very tall ECHIUM PININANA from the Canary islands, many IRIS and the PEONIES so beautiful that they could be confused with the ROSES (I leave you to guess which is which). Finally, even the trees are amazing as this MONKEY PUZZLE TREE shows.

The sun broke out unexpectedly after I'd been into town for a haircut, so instead of going home I decided to make the most of it and take my first walk of the year around the Bishop's gardens. It was a little early in the season but there was still plenty to see and enjoy. I had a cuppa and toasted tea cake in the Cloisters Cafe near the entrance first, then spent a glorious 45 minutes wandering and snapping away. I'd guess another 2-3 weeks or so and it would be a riot of colour as the spring flowers erupt everywhere. A free treat for anyone who wants to bring the family, sit with their partner in a romantic nook, or find a bench to eat their picnic lunch 'out of office'.

The Bishops garden hosts more than 10 different species of Salvia! It has two fantastic old pine trees. A place highly recommended to visit in summer after a rainy day to experience the smells of the garden and to explore the colors. If you look carefully, you'll find some rare and local domestic plant species exposing their beauty.

Beautiful and superbly maintained gardens, a lovely walk with ample seating if you want to sit and enjoy. Well worth a visit. It took us about an hour to slowly walk around and take in the beauty.

Very well kept and a lovely space in the city centre. It's free to visit and a lovely place to relax, with plenty of benches. Also includes part of the historic roman walls walk. Definitely worth a visit!

I was brought up in Chichester. I would say this is perhaps the nicest place in the city to visit. You certainly get the best views of the Cathedral. I would also say this must be one of the nicest country council run parks in the UK - it’s a beautiful park. It’s a bit tucked away so their are locals in the city that have lived here decades and never visited these gardens. It’s a must see for Chichester though

Always beautiful, whatever the weather., whether it is high or low tide. 44 swans and over 100 barnacle geese on the day we visited.

Loved it here , really pretty , loads of parking (DON'T park at the waters edge unless you keep an eye on the tide times. ) will be on our places to revisit list.

Came across Bosham quite by accident. Saw signs for a craft centre and followed our notes. Great little place. Plenty of parking area - reasonable rates. No problem with the camper. Now ... beware ....parking by the waters edge !!! It's tidal, see photos !!! Cafes, walks, church, quayside, Nat Trust Green and a lovely craft centre. Easy couple of very pleasant hours spent here. Enjoy.

Great place for a gentle stroll or a much longer walk, some on the level, others across pebble paths so those with wheelchairs or buggies are catered for. Also toilets and disabled toilet in Bosham car park. There are pay at machine car parks there but if your careful about high tide times, you can park on the road as far as I know but it does flood so be careful! There are a smattering of pubs/cafes around.

Visited a couple of weeks ago. Still finding the lovely little places around us in Hampshire. We walked along the coastal path, and literally, by the time we got back to the cafe for a coffee, the tide was in, and the path we had been walking on 20mns ago was under water. Loved it. Lots of walkers and cyclists enjoying the fresh air and scenery.

I have been to Bosham many times to visit my wife's uncle who lives in the High Street. I would recommend a visit. There is an excellent pub in the High Street named The Anchor Blue serving good food. The church, Holy Trinity is a lovely little church with much history. Also, the Quay is interesting, with many yachts and small boats. There is a large carpark on the outskirts of the village with approximately a 5 minute walk to the High Street. There are couple of shops, a coffee shop and a Gallery. ENJOY!!

A winter weekday visit is recommended as it can be busy. Lovely quaint maritime village with ancient church, (pictured on the Bayeux Tapestry.) At high tides village streets can flood.

A wonderful relaxing place which remains unchanged. Good Parking and a wonderful Church steeped in history. Nice easy walk around shore road to get a different perspective on the village, which is best done at low tide! Always use the Car Park to avoid a wet car!

Bosham is stunning! I remember going there as a child, and now take my own children! It hasn't changed, there's no reason for it to do so! Lovely little cafe with the most delicious sausage rolls I've ever tasted... you need to try it! Carpark close by, and doesn't cost your mortgage to park there. The walk around the Quay is like another world, so elegant and picturesque you'll take plenty of photos for sure 😊

A lovely little place to go. Plenty of history in the church. King Alfred stopped there on his way to the crusades. King Canute has his 5 year daughter buried in the church vault. Lso has the bayeux tapestry in the church. Well worth a visit

This really is a lovely spot, there is a small road that leads you around the quay which is lovely, parts of the road are a bit rough. It is also a great area to walk around the coast or into the village with other cafe and pubs available for food and drink. Low tide here is really beautiful i find myself coming back here all the time. At low tide its best not to park and walk away from your car as the tide has caught a few people out and damaged their car.

Such a quaint, cute village with amazing views and the doors on people’s homes are so fun to see. These pictures just do not do it justice. I only wish I had better company as the people we were staying and traveling with were well…challenging…that’s actually an understatement. Suffice to say, we don’t talk to these radio rental people. We learned to keep our circle small, but hey ho back to the review…this area is a nice place to visit.

Nice and beautiful museum. The best part is that entry is free. Good place to know the history of the Chichester and Romen era. Recommended to visit.

I thoroughly enjoyed 'May the toys be with you' exhibition. There's some very rare items, which were great to see in the flesh. A wonderful collection, which is a very small part of Matt Fox's collection. Wonderful, recommended to all.

We recently attended the bricks of wonder exhibit (SEND session). The exhibits themselves were fantastic but the offering of a SEND session with heavily reduced numbers and lowered background music made all the difference to our experience

Visited the Magic of Middle Earth Exhibition whilst passing through. It was really well considered, with lots to do for our 4 year old Tolkien fan. Especially loved all the original artwork from the 70s/80s and the opportunity to dress up! Would definitely recommend.

An amazing museum! Went here for may the toys be with you, the star wars exhibition, and it was amazing!! The normal exhibitions are amazing too and you can definitely spend a long time in here! Such interesting local history stories and many stories of buildings I recognise. It's definitely worth the visit and so enjoyable!!

Small but nice museum showing a Roman bathhouse and many other local artifacts. Entrance is free. Went for the Lord of the Rings exhibit which we found out after we arrived is £4 to see - again small (a single large room) but nice to support the museum and see some rare Lord of the Rings books, items and other displays.

I love the exhibitions they have and such a great find. Full of history. The Star Wars exhibition was awesome.

This particular museum unlike others holds a very varied and palatable special exhibition, our visit being content surrounding Middle Eart/Lord of The Rings. It is free entry for the museum save the £4 per person for the exhibit and, I would personally say (if all lifts functioning on the day) entirely accessible with plenty of benches/chairs for breaks. This museum also has little bites of fun here and there with a breathtaking view of a portion of the roman city that lays beneath chichester. Alongside it is not a far walk/roll to the site with a bench situated opposite the building.

Excellent museum with lots of roman artefacts. For me however the Star Wars exhibition of vintage toys and posters was the best. I loved that.

This is free but I made a donation, so many interesting things to see, lovely little shop and helpful staff. Lift with tremendous space module photo interior! Roman baths remains on the ground floor, local history from prehistoric to Victorian on 1st floor, with a little table for children to colour etc and excellent library. Useful timeline. Iron age warrior with unusual helmet on the top floor. No interactive exhibits for children but there are nice games to play about what they see. Good size Museum, not too exhausting! excellent information. View of the cathedral from the top floor.

Went to the Magic of Middle Earth today and looked around the museum. Was a very good exhibition and nice to look around museum forthe first time in new home, used to go to museum every Saturday when in little London. Would recommend getting tickets to Magic of middle earth if you are a Tolkien fan

One of the best nights of my life spent here at the Earl of Richmond’s ball. Fireworks disco amazing food and The Darkness playing for us. Truly magical in every way.

Beautiful wedding venue - Classic and timeless but then also relaxed and friendly. Staff are really helpful and you can tell how much they care about the property and its surroundings. Would definitely recommend as a venue to get married at.

Thrilling fantastic weekend at Goodwood Festival Of Speed!! And beautiful, stunning land and house to visit when no events are on great experience!

Coach trip from Kent. Absolutely fantastic! The tour around the house was fascinating, each room has a story and lots of paintings. Our tour guide was excellent - very thoughtful and knowledgeable and very happy to answer questions. If that was not enough we all sat down at 4 huge round tables and were served a superb High Tea. The staff, the food, the table settings - all superb.

Went to Goodwood House for a tour and afternoon tea as a birthday treat. The tour was informative, it was lovely to see all the rooms and learn about the history. The afternoon tea was exquisite, one of the best in Sussex. Staff were wonderful and the happy birthday cake was a lovely surprise. Would definitely recommend.

Attended the 78th Members meeting. Breakfast at Goodwood House. Then off to watch a bit of car racing. Goodwood House is a must see if only for the history. The guided tour is a must to learn about the family history, of The Duke and Duchess of Richmond.

Had the best customer service and quality food in the U.K., went on a few weddings in the past and I understand it can be difficult to keep food hot for everyone and on time, but this place DID it! Very friendly and professional people with passion in what they are doing!!! Would definitely recommend!

Visited for a tour and afternoon tea. Tour was really good with a knowledgeable and engaging guide. Afternoon tea was OK. It was good on cakes, a little light on sandwiches, and tea was a challenge to get topped up as served by the cup rather than the pot. Tea choice was English Breakfast and Earl Grey only. Food allergy handling was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble.

The tour and tea were truly excellent. Very knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide. I took my elderly mother and the tour was all on the ground level with plenty of chairs to sit on. The setting for the tea was very impressive and the food and drink were very good. The service was excellent.

Came for the Festival of Speed for the first time. Only an hour from my home and fairly easy to get to. Car park was easy to navigate and quite close to the entrance with a shuttle tractor service to the gate. The house is very grand with immaculate grounds to host this fantastic festival. All staff were friendly and helpful with a great knowledge of the layout. I will definitely return next year!!

Amazing day out at the Festival of Speed. A lot of walking and very tired legs but a superb experience. Must say thanks to the BMW stand for their hospitality and also Hyundai for their hospitality too. Some iconic cars to look at and admire. Well worth the visit.

The Festival of Speed. Everything for anyone who loves cars and bikes. See them sprint up the hill in a country estate. Amazing access to the paddock, casual atmosphere. I had a nice chat with the legend Niall Mackenzie as he waited to ride up the hill. Gets very busy & traffic in/out of event.

Attended for the Festival of Speed this year! Great day out for all the family, especially those into motorsport and car culture. Attended the auction for a nose around too, some incredible pieces 👀 highly recommended day out. Also attended the revival last year which was equally as good but even more entertaining 👌

What a wonderful place our guide was fantastic and the afternoon tea was even better. Will definitely go again. The staff I would give 10 out of 10 well done I'm hoping the bosses know how good you are.

Festival of Speed is one of the best Events I have been visiting so far, and I saw a lot already. Perfect infrastructure, very good organized, huge offers of different attractions and entertainment. High level suppliers and teams. It takes at least two days to attend to see everything. Sunday maybe a little bit too crowded.

I've been to festival of speed twice now and it's the best motoring event/show in the world. Well worth the price, there are so many fascinating cars to see.

Well worth the hike for the fantastic views. Would award 5 stars had it not been for the dog poo along the paths and several dog poo bags left behind. Shame.

Fabulous 360 views of the South downs and beyond. A good 3 hour hike with varying descents

Start the route at West Stoke carpark. Just a quick summary. No detailed map of routes. No information on how steep, or how long. You have to download an app or call to pay for parking. It's £3. And mobile signal isn't great so it proved v.difficult. it was litter free. Beautiful Yew woodland. Only one bench at the start to sit on. And it was drizzly which meant the flint paths were very slippery walking down hill.

Amazing place to visit .... ....the main bowl is almost prehistoric.... ....could almost imagine dinosaurs roaming around. The views from the top are amazing , you see all the country side to the north and the fantastic view to the south , from the Isle of Wight to the west and the wind farm to the east and everything in-between.

This is a wonderful place for a walk. Lots of nature and the ancient Yew trees are really fun for young and old. The pathways are regularly trimmed and the management obviously work hard to protect this nice place. Dogs welcome. Saw a few deer:-) The carpark gets busy during weekends & holidays.

Beautiful open space. But if a hill walk to the top but views are worth it. Really well looked after with unique surroundings. Great range of footpaths and bridleways winding around the front and back of the south downs hills. Definitely worth a visit. Car park at the bottom is small but on most days has enough parking. Open 24/7 for everyone to enjoy nature.

Nice 2 mile circular walk through old woods and yew trees, up hill in places so keeps you fit! Small car park 3/4 mile from reserve along gravel track.

Walked up to Kingley Vale from the village of Staughton. Google Maps tried to take us up a path where no unauthorised vehicles were allowed. We parked up in the village. Just beyond a flint walled barn with green doors there's a footpath leading uphill. It's opposite a sign for Church Farm Staughton. It's pretty steep and not for the faint hearted. You'll find a memorial to a Polish RAF Hurricane pilot who lost his life when he crashed in the adjacent field. At the top you'll find the tumuli and plenty of ancient yew trees, along with stunning views over the Solent and IOW. Well worth the hike.

Cass Sculpture, set in beautiful surroundings, some of the installations, exhibits all very nice. This was my third visit over the many years, and, I enjoyed a very nice walk in the woodland with superb weather for a September afternoon. However, the devil as they say is always in the detail. Some of the installations could have been placed a little bit with more care, perhaps covering some of the ugly steel Base plates with woodland soil, so as to make the sculpture look as though at one with its surroundings. I know that such art is designed to be moved around at times, but for me it caused my eye to linger too long at the slight mistake. I have given a four star rating, it does deserve a five star but perhaps in the future it may earn one. Cass sculpture is a place to visit, a place to take picnic and to enjoy the woodland and surrounding views, ideal for families. For an individual using a wheelchair this is very accessible. Toilet facilities also on site and picnic area.

Had a great time walking around the woods in beautiful weather today for 2.5hrs. Staff very friendly and during the week it's empty. Sculptures are an eye opener for people like me that know little about it, so a great introduction in a fantastic woodland area.

An amazing place to spend the day! We enjoyed most of the 53 sculptures/installations scattered around the forest. Worth buying annual subscription if you live close because you will definitely want to visit again.

Brilliant day out! It is a walking trail around some 50 sculptures with huge variety and in a beautiful setting. A bit more information in the guide on each sculpture would be useful

Absolutely stunning place. You can do the walk with a buggy, but its a lot of up and down. The sculptures are stunning. Huge. Beautiful setting. You do wonder who buys this stuff and where could they put it!

Went here for our wedding anniversary and had a wonderful time. Really interesting to learn about how the wine is made. The lodge was perfect. We loved the spa bath with the TV. And the sauna was an extra special touch. Tasty breakfast of yoghurt, fruit, muesli, croissants, toast, hard boiled eggs, and orange juice. A perfect way to celebrate.

I had a voucher given me so I booked in on a Friday afternoon which turned out to be a fantastic day. It started off with a short tour of the vines which was really interesting. The lady doing the tour was really informative and friendly and answered all my questions. We then moved to the tasting but before that I brought nibbles and food to go with the tasting. The tasting was very informative and helped me understand the different wines I tried. The food was fantastic and I will be going back to just eat the food and drink the wine on that amazing patio. Highly recommended. Update We did go back the following day which was the hottest day of the year so far and it was very busy however it did not effect the fabulous service. We also purchased 3 bottles to take home with us.

Thank you Holly for an informative yet relaxed tour of the vineyard. You are an asset to the team. You kept us all interested as we tasted 3 wines and you talked us through the wine making process. The surroundings were beautiful & comfortable & my friends & I enjoyed a bottle of wine under the patio heated veranda. Highly recommend

An absolutely brilliant presentation by Jodie. I learnt so much more about wines and setting up a vineyard; it was fascinating and the three bubbles we tasted were superb. I thoroughly recommend this tour, worth every penny, so informative and a wonderfully relaxing two hours in idyllic surroundings. I took two friends from California there, they know their wines and have visited numerous vineyards across France, they both said they had never ever experienced such a superb all encompassing presentation. Worth ten stars! We all had a great time.

Went for a wine tasting here. Absolutely perfect place, wine was incredible. The owner who did the tour was absolutely brilliant and very knowledgeable. The foot situation was a bit chaotic but it was new to them, but still that was the only frustration with otherwise a perfect day.

Wine tasting was really fun, rose our favourite. We had an incredible lunch, brilliant selection but it is on the high side in terms of price given it is self service. We couldn’t fault anyone or the service or the venue. We would rate it 4.5 if we could on here. I wouldn’t bring my 6 year old daughter but would go again with my partner when we had time to enjoy the experience.

I received a voucher for the vineyard tour as a present. The location is stunning with distance views. The decking area and food area very clean. The tour information from the owner was informative, with humour thrown in. I felt I learnt a lot. It was then tasting time on 3 of their sparkling wines. What can I say, they were amazing!. I would definitely recommend to others

My husband's Birthday we opted for the tour and afternoon tea with the sparkling wine tasting. It was such a lovely, beautiful setting and the tour guide Amy answered all our questions, we later discovered yesterday was her first solo tour! We will be back!

Lovely site and very well organised tour. Our guide was first class both knowledgeable and entertaining. The three wines we tasted were excellent and the cheese board a perfect accompaniment. Very well worth the price and we just had to buy some bottles to take home.

Lovely venue, with a beautiful terrace boasting a stunning view. Great architecture as well. The wine is fantastic, using the traditional champagne method. Did the wine tour and that was excellent, with a very charismatic host and a glass of each of the three wines provided. Has nice food (of a light bite typology), including vegan options.

Luxury lodges are fantastic within metres of the vines. The ready to drink bubbles in the fridge taste wonderful, and the barrel sauna is a real treat. The vineyard also has a kitchen severing tapas and cheese boards. In the morning a breakfast was delivered at 9am, which made for a relaxing start to the day. Well done Tinwood! And thank you for a perfect stay.

Love stopping off here after a dog walk. Made to feel very welcome even though dressed in walking gear! Beautiful views over the vineyard, lovely seating areas. Good choice for all from the cafe - you can choose as much or as little as you want. Not the cheapest but a nice treat . A glass of bubbles is a must!

The Tinwood wine tasting was wonderful. A tour of the vineyard by a lovely lady called Holly, who was both knowledgeable and charismatic. The food was delicious and complemented the wine tasting perfectly. All in all a great afternoon out; would definitely recommend.

A group of us had a Sunday roast lunch there and the food was great; a nice experience. Our only complaint was that there were 2 dogs roaming around the restaurant and under tables. We don’t mind dogs but definitely not during dining. I had dog hair on my black trousers.

Superb. Hard to do justice here. Rocking up FREE parking. Met by lovely staff explaining the running order. The food choice is wide based in a tapas style. I reckon £25/ head. Really high quality offerings from cheese, salads, to pecorenos to humous, satay, and fish. Beautifully presented. Thankyou Chef and team. The ambience immediately relaxed me and was happy to bask in the sun and watch the vines grow. Sampling taste time. Like angels dancing on our tongue. Just go.

This place is wonderful and I wish we could have stayed longer. Really enjoyed the tour and tasting, and the lodge is divine!

Six of us stayed recently in the three lodges facing south over a beautiful canvass of grape vynes. Loved the Winetasting with Holly and Fluffy, they were so informative and entertaining. We will all be back.

Oh my goodness, where do I start! This was just wow after wow after wow. Very welcoming when I arrived. Table set up great, and the views are stunning. I had a glass of Tinwood Rosé, my friend had Tinwood Blanc de Blancs - what a fantastic start. Breads and dips with this- delicious- Then to the roasts- OMG THE SHARING PLATTER! Amazing presentation, choice of meats and all the trimmings, yummy gravy. Vegetables were cooked perfectly. A bottle of Chenin Blanc was enjoyed throughout. Puddings were also a sharing platter- a delicious combo of all the puds- crumble, Icecream, brownie and pavlova. With cream and choc sauce and custard! The chef did a brilliant job, everything which came out was jaw droppingly good! Service throughout was personable, friendly, professional- nothing was too much trouble. Thank you to Art, Vlada and all the staff- you deserve the highest praise!

A perfect getaway for a couple 💞 We had the most perfect overnight stay in one of the Tinwood Estate lodges recently and I cannot recommend more highly. We had a late check-in at 7pm, but there was still a member of staff (Vlada) on-site to welcome us and provide a quick tour and answer any questions that we had. The lodges are like a tardis and very spacious indeed and have everything you need for a relaxing night away. A very big and comfortable bed; jacuzzi bath; HUGE shower; double basins; hairdryer; TV; Fridge (stocked with some delicious Tinwood fizz and wine); a sofa; dining table and chairs; and a decking area with seating and cushions with a view out to the vines. In the morning at 9am, a delicious and generous breakfast hamper was discreetly delivered and we even had enough time before checking out to avail ourselves of the barrel sauna. Absolute bliss. Couldn't fault the facilities, the service or the price. We want to live there! Is this possible?? :)

The last few times I had been a platter of cheeses, crackers, honey and grapes. Upon arriving today we were told we had to select what we wanted in a crate which my mother in law struggled to carry. Their was hardly any hot food and the wasn't a choice of cheeses in the mixed slithers. More crackers should also be available. The staff and boss lady were very friendly and I loved the fact as a none drinker they gave me a trio of mocktails which were delicious. My family enjoyed the wine and talk. And on the whole we had a lovely afternoon.

Five of us came today for the Sunday Roast. The welcome was very good and we had a choice of tables, the room was quite chilly but once it filled up it was ok. We had our drinks order taken and the drinks arrived quickly. We waited a little while and we were asked if we were ready for our food. It arrived on a sharing board and there was plenty of meat but not enough vegetables for 5 of us and it was lukewarm and observing other tables they had the same amount of vegetables for two people as we had for 5! We asked for extra hot vegetables and extra gravy which were brought out. Deserts were also sharing and again small amounts for five so a spoonful of crumble each and a small square of brownie. It all tasted good but it really needs to be hot when it comes out some of the vegetables were cold and the Yorkshire puddings were cold! We had really high hopes for this lunch but it definitely fell very short of our expectations. Would not recommend to our friends unfortunately 🙁.

Lots of lovely contemporary art and some great special exhibitions. Well laid out and definitely worth visiting. Lovely courtyard cafe too.

We’re ‘Friends’, have visited Pallant House Gallery many times, and always enjoyed the experience. The quality of exhibitions has been variable but the one that ended yesterday was excellent. ‘Sussex Landscape: Chalk, Wood and Water’. Sat 12 November 2022 - Sun 23 April 2023. We went to see it twice and if you missed the show I suggest buying a copy of the catalogue which is also very good and will become a collector’s item.

This is a very nice gallery, the last exhibition I saw there was the best ever, Sussex landscapes. The gallery is on different levels but has good access for wheelchair users including lifts. Some of the rooms are small but still enough room to stand back and enjoy the art. There are toilets and a small cafe as well as a gift shop. The staff here are very nice and helpful, I'm sure you will enjoy your time here.

A beautiful place to visit. It's a lovely space with some interesting pieces in its permanent collection and the exhibitions on until April are really worth seeing. The Jake Grewal is a small ish collection of work by a young artist and the John Craxton is a major (posthumous) retrospective of a painter who deserves to be recognised. I found it thoroughly moving. I also really liked a small exhibition in which local refugees had written their responses to printed works. Well worth the journey to Chichester to spend a few hours looking round.

This art gallery is fantastic! Some contemporary art and a good selection of styles..I really enjoyed their exhibition Sussex landscapes but also their other collections. Its much larger than I thought! Great place will definitely return.

Lovely intimate space for an exhibition, with a side-gallery showing selected work by local artists in response to the main show. One room dedicated to a revolving academy-style hanging of paintings from the permanent collection includes some surprises. I loved a small Paring of open woodland by Keith Vaughan - grateful to have seen it. The main (temporary) exhibition (Gwen John) was well supported by on-line written and spoken notes by the curator. Impressed by two war-time pictures of a brown tea-pot …. The tenuousness of even that sparse comfort.

John Craxton a fascinating exhibition at Pallant House: if you are near there don't miss this. Some great portraits and then brilliant Mediterranean landscapes.

It's a lovely Gallery with an interesting permanent collection and, at the moment, a Gwen John exhibition. Cafe spoils it though. Embarrassed to be questioned at lunch time re wanting tea and a snack. We left! Suggest Put big notice up " Only lunch served!"

Visited the opening day of a fabulous Glyn Philpot exhibition. Such a great range and diversity of artworks. The gallery generally is super friendly I chatted to two great volunteers I wish other galleries were this friendly! Was half price with my Art Fund membership.

Really lovely art gallery, with a large selection of artists and styles. There's a fantastic John Craxton exhibition which is well worth the visit. The cafe was great too and the gallery is accessible throughout.

Most recent visit was as good as ever, if not better. The rehang of some of the permanent collection was excellent. The focus this time, Ben Nicholson and the pots used in his practice, was top notch. Altogether a reassuring return to a favourite venue. Bonus was delicious lunch in cafe

I entered a 5k inflatable event this morning with my 5 sisters and one of my nieces. It was at Goodwood Racecourse. The views from the racecourse are absolutely beautiful, and it's a lovely place to go for a walk. The event was a real challenge especially for us because we are all between 60 and 68 years old apart from my niece. We had signed on for 5k but only managed 2.5k. There were drinks and food available to buy after the event and it was a great experience. A massive well done to the organisers of the event.

An absolutely gorgeous setting to get close to horse racing. Great location services, and people. The very best views of Sussex, Chichester Harbour and the Isle of Wight.

Fantastic place to watch racing. The views of the track and breathtaking views of the downs on one side, then Chichester Cathedral and out to sea on the other side. I had a great experience.

Great night out with horse racing and DJ sets. Plenty of beer choices but avoid the sausage rolls - everyone that ate them had a dodgy tummy fairly soon afterwards!

Great day out, the atmosphere was fantastic, horses all looked very happy and jokeys fantastic!! I was a little disappointed with the bar staff not knowing some basic drinks and the fact we had to order like we were at McDonald's to get the drinks at the bar, theu didn't seem strong for the prices either. The outside gin bar was lovely and so was the jazz band!!

The Qatar festival is a premier horseracing festival held over 5 days which is just fantastic. Although the weather was not brilliant sunshine all day on the Thursday I attended the entertainment the horseracing and just some great people watching just made for an amazing day out. If you want to go to the most prettiest racecourse in the UK to watch some really good racing then it don't get muich better than this. Highly recommended for races goers and anyone who just wants an amazing day of entertainment.

I was lucky enough to attend the final day of the Qatar festival, and it was absolutely incredible! Firstly, the atmosphere was amazing, the staff were approachable and happy to help. Crowds were great and the other race goers were friendly and welcoming. The horses were treated with utmost care and respect as at every course, and the dedication of stable staff showed through in the impressive performances! It was great to get to see the big names too, both horse and jockey - including Frankie Dettori. The safety measures were very rigorous, meaning that we felt very safe once we were on the course. The course itself was very large, stunning views and trackside was amazing, you can get very close to the action which is always my favourite part! If you’re in the Lennox enclosure then do take a camping chair, as with the crowds only a few benches were available, there were lots around though so on a usual race day I assume it would be absolutely no bother for seats. Overall a wonderful day, probably one of my favourite courses that I’ve visited so far, I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great and memorable day racing!

One of the most picturesque racecourse in the UK. The Glorious Goodwood week provides a stylish but relaxed vibe that beats Royal Ascot hands down!

We had tickets for the Richmond Enclosure on Family Day which made the day even more special! The racecourse itself is set in a picturesque area and is lovely to visit. There was great food available, a huge choice of bars and a brilliant atmosphere throughout!

Where to start? The reason it's not just one star is the setting on the Downs is lovely and racing can be good. Prices-at 38 quid a ticket you ought to be able to park free as they say. You can but only in one poorly signed place. For a space on a grass or potholed bit of dirt with no prices displayed at all you are hit with a £5 charge. A long walk to the busy entrance (you need to avoid a bossy lollypop man telling you which side of his lollypop you can cross. Yes really!). An army of security types tell you to queue but they don't know where to point you to where you can collect your tickets from a few badly signed windows. Those who've paid top prices for the very expensive Richmond stand still have to push and shove with the others. After that you are then told you have to wear a tie for that enclosure. A tie? In 2024? When some with ties are wearing flip flops and no socks? How pompous can these people be? They say you could buy ties there for £5. I didn't and winged it. The ties are £85. The Richmond stand is a draughty tunnel. If you get an expensive drink you can stand with it on the terrace in front of the track, but another bossy security man won't let you sit on the seats behind. What's the point of that? Queuing for a drink by the paddock takes ages as they only have 2 inexperienced bar staff working. A quick glance and you can see the legion of black suited security staff standing around doing nothing. Perhaps worst of all (apart from the exorbitant prices) is the canteen food on offer in the stand by the-guess what very pricey merchandising shop. I saw a couple of people getting an unspeakable looking version of a croque monsieur (cost £17) which was served on a piece of card with a nasty wooden knife and fork to be eaten at a dirty plastic table. My late mother, who was an owner, called this place "Greedy Goodwood" far from glorious and she was right.

Very enjoyable day out at the BBC Good Food Festival. Lots of sampling opportunities and a wide range of food and drink outlets. Parking was free for this event and marshals acted as crossing patrols as the car park fields were across the road. We had the opportunity to meet Chris Bavin and get his book signed by him. There were also coming tutorials being given.

The owners of the East Walls Hotel in Chichester truly exemplify kindness and compassion. After my friend's unfortunate accident outside their, hotel, their support and assistance were invaluable. Their genuine care and willingness to help during a difficult time truly made a difference. Additionally, the hotel itself is a gem, boasting stunning bedrooms that provide a truly luxurious and comfortable stay. Without a doubt, the East Walls Hotel is worth visiting, not only for its beautiful accommodations but also for the warmth and generosity of its owners. Thank you Annie and I’m very much looking forward to breakfast soon and an overnight stay. Jaimes

My husband and I stayed for 1 night and can highly recommend. A very clean hotel with a very friendly owner. Breakfast was freshly prepared in the open plan kitchen which we thoroughly enjoyed. Room was clean and bed was super comfortable. Short walk away from the centre. 10/10.

Stayed here for a night as we were at the theatre. Simply lovey, it was perfect and we will be back - room 7 was stunning and very comfortable. Amazing breakfast, very friendly staff and owner! Looking forward to our summer visit 😃

Brilliant conversion of a Georgian building, stunning decor, really comfortable beds, spotless bathroom with a fabulous shower,to go with a gourmet breakfast. As good as you can get.

Shockingly bad experience with the owner screaming down the phone at me: “Get out of my hotel within three minutes or I’ll call the police!” All this aggressive hostility because they had tried to con my wife and I into staying in small, cramped room No 3 instead of room no 5 which they had confirmed via email. Despite it costing a massive £595 for three nights, no one mentioned they had swapped rooms until I noticed the confirmation email. Then the excuses came from the owner’s wife that the previous occupant of No 5 had puked all over the carpet and it had to be industrially cleaned. She claimed she had tried to alert me the previous day and had sent photos to my mobile phone - I received and heard nothing. Anyway she could have called or emailed on the day we checked in but didn’t. Via her staff she made a financial offer which was mean-spirited and unsatisfactory. She then called to repeat the offer when her husband aggressively made the threat about the police, leaving my wife later in tears as we trudged at 5pm to the vastly superior Harbour Hotel. My advice? Avoid the East Walls Hotel, you could be the next recipient of their “hospitality”.

I stayed at this hotel for 4 days for business purposes. I'd highly recommend to anyone wanting to stay in Chichester. The staff were very friendly, the rooms were very clean and comfortable beds. All in all, I have zero faults and I would happily stay again. It was great speaking with the chef every morning, he was a great guy.

Well what can I say, this hotel is a real gem, it has great rooms with comfortable beds. The hotel was quiet, and you feel so welcome. Breakfast was a treat not only on the quality of the meal, but it is freshly cooked in front of yours eyes, first time I have ever seen this. Cannot recommended highly enough this hotel Do not believe that it is a 2 star

Spent one night here and wish I’d been able to stay longer. East Walls is a lovely small hotel with an affable, funny, and very welcoming proprietor. I stayed on the ground floor overlooking the garden, and the room was well-appointed and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, and the hotel readily held my bags all day after I checked out and while I explored Chichester. Highly recommend.
