We have been to Portugal a few times but never to the Marina in Vilamoura. A stunning Marina with boats only the super rich can afford. A good selection of bars and restaurants at reasonable prices.

Loved the marina! It is a beautiful place to walk round, lots of restaurants, bars and shopping too. Walked right round to the beach as well which is beside the marina.

A gorgeous place to spend a few hours at. Very clean with plenty of bars, restaurants, shops. Large boats and some fancy cars if you're lucky. The beach also isn't too far away to walk to either.

Lovely marina wigh amazing yachts in. Hit on lucky with our visit as there was a yacht exhibition in, so nice to see all the different yachts you could buy. Loads of restaurants and pubs situated all the way along the marina, which are all reasonable priced. Good place to spend a couple of hours walking around taking in the views

Beautiful architecture. The building is a must see. The market is worth a visit. We were there in January and not all vendors were open. But you can tell that the locals shop here. Butcher shop, fresh fish, organic, beautiful vegetables. Be prepared to pay with cash as most vendors do not take credit cards. Luckily, the wine shop accepted credit cards. I can’t wait to try the wine bottles they recommended!

Great place to visit, especially at Christmas time when it is aglow with lights. Would definitely recommend.

We had been told that the Saturday Market at Loulé was the best in Algarve, and we got there in mid morning when the market was in full swing. The hall is huge with all the stands and stuff one would expect, from trinkets and cakes to fish and meat. It was busy and difficult to find a seat to have a drink and a rest, but once the custard pies and coffee was obtained, we sat inside the hall enjoying the scenery and busyness of the market. Shoppers were mostly local, but there were also a good number of foreign visitors like ourselves, even though this was not in the tourist season. Also outside there were stands offering artwork, embroidery and much more.

Loved eating inside some sea food tapas. The place has a great architecture and it is a great spot to have a relaxed light meal.

Lovely market in the center of Loule with beautiful, fresh produce (fruits, vegetables, seafood, and local products) at reasonable prices. I came here for their Saturday market and it was mostly locals… what a great experience!

Came here 20 years ago and although it is has become much more touristy it's still a great Saturday day trip experience. Food stalls are fewer now but still lots to look at both in the market and streets surrounding. The newer food stalls in the centre of the actual market serve really delicious food....although a bit of a battle to find a free table. Parking can be found away from the centre for an enjoyable walk through the local streets to/from the busy area. Recommended!

A lot of shops are located in this large historical building that is architecturally well designed and conveys a comfortable atmosphere. It is a market place where You find a great variety of shops and will not leave hungry.

It is a great starting place for shopping and touring Loule. The fishmarket, produce, and Portuguese Products are all interesting.

This market is just amazing, you get all kinds of amazing fresh produce, seafood, meats, traditional regional goods and even coffee & snacks. Produce is usually picked the day before and brought to market the next day. We purchased the freshest mushrooms I have ever had, cheese and bread right out of the oven. The seafood selection is bar none, maybe a little pricier than the supermarket, but it's definitely fresher and not frozen. You can but squid, tiger prawns, lobster, grouper, snapper. Regional goods like honey, liquers, olives and cheese amongst others . It's my favorite place in Loulé because the whole town gathers here and everybody comes out to purchase local. It's wonderful.

This is a great little market! Better on Saturday as there appears to be more vendors there selling produce etc. Don't be fooled by the "Flea Market". On Saturday. It's folks selling their very hard used goods and used clothing, but if that is what you are into.. Twice we purchased fresh fish here for the BBQ. Very good and very fresh! Very nice folks at the fish counter. Very helpful,fish cleaned, gutted and descaled while you wait! I will miss all of the fresh seafood here! Outstanding!

Fantastic Portuguese fare under a roof and on the circumference. Largest pomegranate I ever laid eyes on. Super fish. Knowledgeable seller's who are more than happy to support you in getting what you want. Lovely spot for a bite to eat too.

Lovely place, some great little cafe shops and good fruit marjet stalls, a great indoor fish and local produce market. Worth visiting. Also got to see fabio dias singing in the market hall. He was very good 👍

A gem. It does not appear to noted in tourist information but please visit. Go with a totally open mind, outside is nothing special, the entry hall has some interesting tiling, but please pay the 2€ entry fee for a truly jaw dropping experience. I took some friends there 4 days after my first visit, and will go back again.

Church with great historical and architectural value. The church of São Lourenço is one of the few examples of "Arte Total", a category deserved to churches in which azulejo mosaics cover the whole interior. A must visit for sure.

Amazing church with tiles, very beautiful. Really worth to visit!!! 2 euros ticket. The church was closed from 6 to 20 Dec because the person who opens it was on holidays. There was a sign at the entrance. But it is opened regularly from today 21st Dec.

Smallish church not near anything. The inside is very beautiful blue and white painted tile, but they are *very* strict about taking no pictures at all inside and that was a major bummer for me. I think taking pictures is a great way to share the beauty with people who are unable to take the trip themselves. There is €2 admission fee for entry. There is no restroom or giftshop or explanations of the art or anything like that. The woman taking the fee was brusque and just because there are SO many gorgeous churches in Portugal, I wouldn't make a special trip to go here if you had to make a choice. If you're in the area, pop in and sit for a bit.

Some individuals are allowed to take photos, while others are not. The rules vary depending on the person. This is because there are quite recent and well-captured photos circulating on the internet. The individual in charge of ticket collection was impolite and arrogant simply because they saw me holding my phone and were afraid I might be recording. They even went so far as to threaten me, claiming that there were cameras capturing my every move. How rude! To make matters worse, they followed me outside when I left. It creates an atmosphere of paranoia! The moment I entered, they were already shouting at me, without a "good morning" or "good afternoon." Naturally, I greeted them politely and assured them that I had no intention of filming or taking photos. However, they continued to complain. It appears that they are concerned about the church's privacy but not about the privacy of its visitors (as visitors are being recorded). It immediately became clear to me that this was not a monument owned by the Portuguese state. A sense of paranoia and persecution lingers in the air. Thankfully, there is another person present who monitors individuals (and they are friendlier and more relaxed). It feels as if they believe they are doing us a favor, but in return, we feel constantly watched (and filmed!). The level of arrogance and self-importance is astounding. They believe they have the most exceptional monument in the world. The church, although small, features exquisite tilework and gilded woodwork, but it is not one-of-a-kind. There are other similar churches scattered throughout the country. Despite paying to enter (as it is not a state-owned monument), there is no accompanying explanation provided. I sincerely hope that the Catholic Church, at the very least, has the decency to utilize the funds for the betterment of the community. Considering the church's fame and its status as a tourist attraction and money-making machine.

Gorgeous church absolutely worth’s visit. It costs €2 to get in and no pictures are allowed inside. But worth it to just be inside such a beautiful space if even a bit out of the way. Totally recommended!

Amazing track. After 3 sessions the difference between karts was highly noticeable. Brakes fully failed on my first run so I had to run it into the barriers to try stop. No track times available. Loved it - but karts need maintenance if you are competitive. Great fun

Great and the staff are friendly and helpful. We done the 200cc and the 400cc and we prefer the 200cc as more fun as not as hard to corner fast in them without spinning off.

Not that cheap for karting but not outrageously expensive. Staff were fine for us, I can understand why others would find them safety negligent if young kids are involved. KEY ADVICE: go for the more powerful karts, both engines are fun but you won't regret the 390cc

Excellent buggy experience. Was provided a gyro camera holder and cold water bottles for all. We booked the 4 seater buggy which was very fun to drive. Would definitely recommend this place to others!!

Had a booking turned up 15 minutes late because of strike. Instead of taking 15 off the time just completely wrote it off. To be told we missed out booking. And now fully booked. But we pay again to have a go. Seems like a scam. As the picture below is the booking we would impact due to us being late.

Reduced offer through covid although didn't affect us as mainly younger rides impaired. No buggy tours on offer so check what they do before you travel on spec . Good track .. all though I'm too old for karting now . Bit expensive all thoughive been told they've reduced prices they do offer packages .

Great track, location and set up. Main issue is no times and the karts are extremely different. First 390cc kart wasn't that fast but handled fine. The second 390cc kart was much faster but had 0 brakes 😂. If they improved the karts and added some basic times this place would be 10/10!

Each race lasts 10 mins. If you’re worried about lice, nits or other hair mites they will give you a hair net and a helmet to wear. I recommend you get a 200cc kart to get into it then move up to 390cc. You can’t just bowl up without tickets. You get tickets from the bar.

The venue at the time of our visit wasn't busy so we the track to ourselves. The minimum age is 6 and the karts are petrol types. The kids track is small but good value for 10 mins of fun.

Had the sons birthday party here and often go after school. Its a great place with free entrance, just pay as you play. Great karting tracks for all ages. Bungee jumping, boats, safari treking and cafe/bar with reasonable prices. Reccommended

Great leisure centre ideal for groups, families to have a good time. Offering a super go-kart track,but also the possibility of quad biking with a super lap. I highly recommend these activities, thank you to the whole team, I will come back ! #B4YOUDISCOVERY

My fiancée and I went for an off road buggy tour, it’s was absolutely brilliant, the guides were great, professional and friendly. Lasted the full 90 minutes with a short break half way through. Highly recommended

Love this place - it’s so good! Highly recommend. Brilliantly run, karts are awesome - quickest karts I have ever seen in a holiday type destination. Also have a Junior Kart section that my 9 year old went on, and they were just perfect.

This Castle Museum is well worth a visit. It is modest in size but contains a few interesting exhibits indoors. But the more attractive aspect is the castle towers. One can climb up to the top of the two towers, which are not very tall, but offer nice views of the town of Loulé and give a good impression of the how the historic castle or fort was built. One notable item in the inside exhibition was some bones said to date back 227 million years, belong to a creature which is not known anywhere else in the world.

Small but charming. Train station not close,, bus station walking distance. But if you are pressed for time, please do yourself a favor and go to Castelo de Silves instead.

We came on a rainy/windy day but the sun still showed through! Less than €2 a person to visit both the castle and museum.

Lovely experience at the castle. Incredibly cheap for the time we spent there, at just over a euro each. Would only advise against going here if you are bad with stairs as there are some really steep parts that could be deemed dangerous.

Visiting here is free! The garden in this castle ruins are beautiful and well kept even after peak summer, its a must visit if you are in the area. The castle has very steep steps if you are hoping to climb to the top you will be rewarded with views over the town and next to the church which chimes every half hour. Go down to the river after and cross the bridge to find a nice outdoor seating area to the left side of the bridge for some refreshing drinks next to the river bank

Wonderful views over the city. Expect long ques especially later in the morning. The views are far better than the castle. So you are paying around 13 Euro's for a view.

An archeology museum inside thr forecourt and steps uto the library and kitchen, also entrance onto the battlements. Only €1.62 entrance fee

Beautiful Castle and town. Great market. Fresh everything. What's not to like.

Not really a lot to see! We were not there any longer than half an hour. Nice views from the top and friendly staff but in comparison to the National Trust or Heritage England type places in the UK this just felt a bit lacking. Great to preserve history obviously though.

It was a really lovely little castle and we got a little prehistoric ceramic as a souvenir. Tickets are cheap. It's a lovely way to spend 30 to 40 mins . The turrets have a great view of the city

Loved Loule lovely Town with a Town Square with plenty seating all around very clean public toilets and lovely pedestrianised quaint streets. Some lovely architecture around the town and a great market with lots of stalls.

Beautiful castle and much older artifacts to see. Almost free the charge is only a few euros for a family. Doesn't take long to view it and take it all in but definitely a worthy little stop!

This is a lovely resort, located in Vale De Lobo, open to those who want to be a part of the luxurious community. They have a beautiful golf course, you can rent clubs and they have golf carts "buggies" available. The ambiance is lovely. They have hookahs available, a full bar, food and drinks. I tried the hot chocolate with almond milk, which tasted good but needed more chocolate. The wait staff was attentive and friendly. The bar was relatively busy at the time.

Beautiful venue with polite staff. The club house was very relaxing and facilities were top notch.

An outstanding place to play golf. On the ocean view course I'd recommend an orientation pole on the top of the hills on the second 9. A good helpful tool for newcomers and improves safety in regards to straying balls. Highly recommended 🙋‍♂️🇳🇱🏌️‍♂️🇩🇪

Great experience, highly recommended! Shuttle in the resort 24/7, very secure and quiet, tennis, golf, restaurants and parking. The beach was around 15-20 mins walking, 5 mins driving.

My review is based solely on the restaurant after a round of golf. Absolutely awful service. The lady in charge could not have been more useless and indifferent if she tried. Fine with select customers of which we weren’t one of them. Would not recommend unless you are the chosen ones

Staff thought I lost the 2nd key. I told them I only got 1 key. The man was rude and made me go back to my villa so I wasn’t able to warm up for golf like I arrived 45 minutes early to do. They found the key and weren’t even that sorry. Golf course pics are way better than the actual course. The greens were in poor condition and you never got to see the cliff you see online. It’s a nice course but I will go somewhere else next time.

We played at Ocean golf course Vale Do Lobo. Not only was the golf course in superb condition the views while we were playing where spectacular. My playing partners got a bit annoyed as I kept taking photographs. We were keeping up with the golfers in front so I was not to worried. We are booking another golf holiday to Portugal next year and this golf course is definitely on the list.

Excellent service and well-priced. I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to experience the Algarve to the full. There's lots to do, including golf, tennis and even an excellent grand piano in the spikes lounge (for those who enjoy playing). I will be sure to stay here again when I’m next in the Algarve.

My review is if the golf course / club, not of any associated accommodation. Recently back from a trip to Portugal where I played numerous courses between Faro and Lagos. Last minute decision to play the Royal Course at VdL and it was the best of a great bunch. Things I thought were great about it: 1. The staff in the bar and restaurant, the ‘Spike Bar’ were so happy, friendly and helpful. 2. The course is insanely good. I’ve played quality golf courses across the continents, and this was genuinely one of my favourites. So many great holes, including the 16th which is in the top 5 holes I’ve ever played. 3. Incredible value at €60 for a ‘sunset’ round including buggy. Which did mean that we played 17 and 18 in the dark, but who cares! We got to play 1-16 in the light for an obscenely small amount of money. 4. Bang for buck, the food was the best we had, having had 7 lunches at 7 courses. I loved this place so much, that I genuinely considered whether I should move my Mediterranean base there. Had a look at property prices when I got back to the clubhouse though, and realised that the sale of my vast frontline 5 bed / 5 bath on one of Southern Spain’s best courses, would allow me to buy a 3 bed fixer upper apartment on VdL. So I’m not moving there! But I’ll be back to play the Ocean, and the Royal with my kids soon. Well done to the management, for providing a great golf and F&B experience 👍😘🇵🇹

Accommodation is a little tired.. Could do with an update. Golf centre and restaurant Exeter great but lacking decent practice facilities

One of my favourite places in Algarve, especially the beach & fabulous villas! Just drive around and enjoy the scenery and stop moaning.

Good, but courses too severe, particularly the greens on the Ocean course. The sand on the Royal course is unfair.

Stayed on the estate a few times but never the hotel decided to try it this year, really nice, staff very pleasant and helpful breakfast was excellent something for everyone, dining in the restaurant in the evening was also a joy, pool was enjoyed by many and an excellent size for the morning keep fit swimmers, plenty sunbeds for the sun worshiping, has a tennis court though I never saw it in use maybe to early in the season. Had a golf course viewing room so sun in the morning shade in the evening classic room, so not one of the refurbished rooms but fine for me, overall I enjoyed my stay and would hope to return in the future as the location is excellent . 😎

Played a round of golf and every staff member we came across was extremely rude and unhelpful. I get the impression that if you’re not a member, but a paying guest - they’ll treat you like dirt. At one point one of the cart people called Bruno wouldn’t give us any ice, once we got our own he started shouting at us! There are plenty of great courses to go to in the area, I strongly recommend avoiding this club. Don’t know about the hotel, but if the staff are similar it’s worth avoiding My dad also became ill so told the club he was unable to play. They have not refunded him despite providing a signed doctors note.

I hadn't seen to Vale do Lobo since they enlarged Sandbanks and replaced the wonderful Papagallo with a very odd restaurant called "Well". A Caesar salad was €28. No more gazpacho. Mostly sushi. They have also removed the best newsagent I often frequented. Sandbanks did offer a Caesar with chicken (and ham) for €16 but it was mostly arugula. I didn't finish it. The service was wonderful and efficient considering the masses of tourists they have to put up with. It has the feeling of being on a giant cruise ship.

A good place to buy things . There is a worksop in the basement so that even people can do the purchase when the car getting repaired. There is ample parking space and enough shops of almost all the brands. The washrooms are clean and tidy . The whole mall will bcome a bit crowded on the weekends.

This is by far the best mall in the Faro area, great shops, good food, electric cars for the kids and a large playground and you can leave your dog there as well

On my last day here in Portugal, the weather changed and it was raining. So I thought I would go here to kill some time. There are plenty of spaces for parking. Parking is free by the way! They have places to charge your electric vehicle as well. The mall itself is very nice, very clean and there are many stores. Relaxing areas as well. They have a food court and plenty of bathrooms which are totally awesome!! Elevators and escalators for getting up and down. They even have a movie theater here. Next to the mall, they have a designer outlet so your shopping can go to the limit. I was missing a Nike store here 😀

Huge variety of shops. Enjoyed the restaurant area. Beautiful outlet just on the side. Looks like the traditional small streets with stores.

Food is at the center for shopping and the choices are plentiful at the MAR Shopping Center. It is both an outdoor and indoor facility with orange trees outside to scent the air as you stroll down very wide walkways. There are a ton of selections, ample parking and a huge selection of food selections. Even the bathrooms are amazing!

Love this place!! Great for shopping and dining (There was a food place which does gluten free options so my 5 year old and me could have lunch there). Staff were really friendly, clean and tidy, toilets were immaculate, Great baby changing facilities and toilets which had parent and toddler loo's in. Would highly recommend this place and the cute little park outside for the kids to play. My 10 and 5 year old loved it too.

Really nice shopping centre with loads of shops, great restaurants and cafes. All fashion shops are extremely expensive (designer) except Penneys which is great value and has lots of selection

Nice shopping mall, lots of stores like primark,H&M, KFC, Zara, Starbucks etc, they have a designer outlet (think Cheshire oaks) an outside play area for the kids, and the parking is all free and spacious.

Parked in car park to front of the shopping centre wich was free. A good selection of shops located in a nice relaxing atmosphere. There is also a good selection of food outlets including a supermarket. Well worth a vist when in need of some shopping therapy.

Great mall, lots of parking with indoor and outdoor shops. Great activities for the kids, free and paid. For dog lovers you can bring your dog and enjoy the day at the mall with the family.

Best shopping complex in Faro. It has almost all shops & duty free facility. Lot of restaurants available including KFC, Burger King. Also IKEA , primark, tiffosh, Sephora.

Great shopping mall with many recognisable brands represented here such as H&M, Primark, Zara, IKEA etc. The toilets were incredibly clean and the mother and baby feeding and changing area was probably one of the best I’ve ever seen. A good food court area with a great choice and plenty of free parking

The biggest shopping mall in albufeira and it didn’t disappoint! Started at the designer outlet and they have plenty of them. Tommy Hilfiger guess Calvin Kline Levi’s adidas puma Lacoste to name a few the prices are brilliant way cheaper than expected. Then head over to the food court where there is a wide selection of eateries and the under cover shopping for everyone. Stores galore from mango, Swarovski, primark, H&M, salsa, fifty, Lego. It’s pet friendly you can take your dog into all the shops! Even the food court!!! But if you don’t want to they have a pet sitting company to drop your dog off at I’d like that option back home!!! Plenty of toilets that are very clean and well managed. Only draw back not a lot of taxis when we wanted to leave, and the place you have to wait for them has no seats and no cover from the hot sun or in our case the rain.

Mar shopping is a nice place to relax...never over crowded and always a place to sit when stopping for a meal. Do not forget the pingo Doce bakery not in the food court to get bargain priced menu for a coffee break.

Purpose built golf resort catering for the avid golfers. Two courses to play on and are well maintained with stunning views. Only downside are the bars and restaurants which are located within the complex as they are expensive compared to true local Portuguese establishments and in my opinion not as good quality ( I've been coming to the Algarve for over 30 years so do have an idea of what is out there!). Having said that Faro and Vilamoura are a short taxi ride away if you want a night out drinking.

We played both golf courses at Val do Lobo. I thought the Ocean course was the best. It was a great experience, so I'm looking forward to our next trip.

Great courses but unprofessional front desk service.

Five hours 20mins to complete the round takes a lot of the fun away. Far too slow. Ineffective course management meant there were queues at every tee despite the course not being over busy. The lady at reception couldn't have cared less. Really sloppy customer service. I won't be coming back and I recommend you go elsewhere.

Ocean course; Great views from the back 9 and an impressive array of properties surrounding the course but sadly I was really disappointed with the quality of the greens. The quality was severely lacking. Its a nice venue and clearly a popular choice for a lot of travelling golfers but I get the feeling its eaten out on being the "it" place to be rather than focusing on preserving the condition of the course, fairways were also poor. I will always have a fond memory of the par 5 6th which I managed to eagle but will not be rushing back to be honest. Royal Course; It is probably the most iconic course in the Algarve because of the signature Par 3 across the sea cliffs and one I don't mind admitting we all stopped to film our tee shots on like the typical tourist we were. Is it the best course? Not really. Is it a lot of fun? YES. Forget the condition which was below standard for a course of this reputation, it was such great fun. We had a relatively calm day weather wise but I would love to go back when the wind is up to really see how tough it gets. It is one of those locations were you can easily end up photographing the surrounding modern villas as much as the course, its clear there is money in the area and it shows through these huge luxury villas looming over parts of the course. Should it be a bucket list course, in my opinion yes.

Whether you play the Royal or the Ocean golf course, this place is a gem. The whole complex is very well laid out. Golf courses are some of the best I've played with some incredible views . A little pricy, but worth it .

Avoid unless you like waiting on every single Tee and incredibly rude staff. Over priced; greens covered in pitch marks; Tee boxes in very poor condition; over 5 hours a round, mostly waiting; aggressive staff. They squeeze as many on the course as possible, mostly in carts so one slow play holds everyone up. This isn't golf, it's players knocking the ball 150 yds then speeding up to it, waiting 5 mins, then knocking the ball forward 150 and repeating. There are a few picturesque holes but nothing worth waiting on every shot for, and taking well over 5 hours a round. I personally witnessed a ranger shouting aggressively at groups to hurry up, which was pointless as it's the clubs fault putting too many players on the course, one incident in particular whilst the group in front (lady with her young daughter) were Teeing off 20 metres away, the young girl was too shaken to hit her shot and they ended up not playing the hole as a result. The staff member didn't see a problem with his actions. I later heard this had happened several times and when i mentioned this it was denied by the club, despite several witnesses. Many other nicer GOLF courses in the area and never have i seen such atrocious staff. Also the driving range (a few mats) is limited to 140 yds and pretty pointless. Avoid, not a pleasant experience unless the course is not busy with tourists, which doesn't happen and is what they're banking upon. Never become a member!!!

Normally a fabulous couple of courses but over played this time of year, tee boxes in a poor condition and greens remarkably slow. Disappointing. But beautiful weather and club house. Sure to return, hope the course improves for the next trip!

Some clay and some hard courts, a few padel courts. We mainly use them for the weekly kids tennis camps - Monday to Friday 9:00-11:00 - there’s usually 15-30 kids each week and it’s well run and good for my kids to meet others their own age.

We loved going there for the breakfast during our stay at Vale de lobo. They have very delicious smoothies and fresh juices. Even if the menu gives the impression of offering more starters all what we ordered was 100% fabulous and the size of portions was big enough. Huge place, loads, I believe every kind of brand shop is there, expensive and cheap, for everyone. There is loads entertainment for little children too. Food, bars, it was all super crowded at the time we were there. Very big parking area too.
