Very good quality starters (cold cuts and cheeses) typical from Italy and Spain. We chose Pasta (very Well cooked) accompanied with an artisanal beer. Nice desserts and friendly staff. We loved it. Didn’t give 5 starts because the restaurant itself is not “wow”, just a simple cozy bottega. But food-wise definitely worth it!!

The food was amazing, we tried the cheese and ham plate, that was really good. Beyond that, we tasted the tagliatelle and the polenta that were excellent. But, unfortunately, our experienced was affected by one staff that didn’t treat us very welcoming when we tried to get a table in the restaurant.

Had a wonderful lunch with the family today. I definitely recommend the cured meats and cheeses platters, as well as the tagliatelle with culatello and parmesan! But generally speaking we were satisfied with the food and wine. The location is cosy, especially the 'underground' area. Service is nice, and you can purchase most of the products you have enjoyed after eating (which we definitely have done!) - we will come back!

Delicious lunch here, a cute little 7 seat restaurant with wonderful local dishes and an amazingly inexpensive wines by the glass list. I only wish we had more of an appetite so we could have tried some of the meats and cheeses they had in their shop, but the tagliolini with butter, parm and white truffles was perfect, and the polenta in the La Carbonade was one of the best I’ve had!

Amazing food and wine plus 10/10 service - our favourite meal of the week hands down. If you are in Aosta this is a must!

I was there on boxing day. The shopping streets and restaurants were busy with local visitors. Impressive roman ruins from 2000 years ago. All these with the snowcapped mountains as backdrops.

Excellent attraction with a great video in Italian and French, very informative about the Aosta history and how the crypt was built. Particularly fascinating to see the CG reconstruction of the town. Entrance is paid for as part of the day pass from the tourist office at the Praetorian gate.

Worth a visit! The facade is superb - the interior much less so, still, have a look. Do not miss the 'criptoportico' to the left (not linked to the church itself).

Describing Aosta’s Cathedral as an ensemble of architectural styles in a hotchpotch does not perhaps do justice to this great structure; yet, as I approached the church from the west edge of Piazza Giovanni XXIII, this was my first impression of the building. The bell towers at the back, partly hidden from view by the bulky front are purely Romanesque and architecturally sublime. Dating back to the 11th century, they are unquestionably a rare example of untouched Romanesque in this part of Italy. But... move closer and you are faced with a voluminous out-of-style 19th-century neo-classical facade that does not in any way tally with the cathedral’s original architecture. The porticoed atrium, supported on huge columns and decorated with fine frescoes and a series of terracotta statues is undoubtedly an out-of-place replacement to an otherwise sweet Romanesque original. The gaudy fill-in painting on the tympanum is a fine work of art when seen as a stand-alone but is certainly an out-of-place addition here. The only relief is the cathedral’s Gothic interior. Austere but structurally imposing, it still holds a handful of original pieces that are worth checking out. The 12th-century mosaics preserved in the choir date back to the Romanesque era while the 4th-century baptismal font in the central nave is an untouched original. Take one of the several guided tours to the cathedral’s attic (created by lowering the ceiling in the 14th century) where a series of impressive 11th-century frescoes are perhaps the cathedral’s best asset.

Beautiful museum, very impressive roman ruines of the old defensive walls, very well kept exposition of the history of Aosta. Would definately recommend if already visiting the town, the ticket is cheap and offers access to other sites.

Rather disappointing that all interpretive signs were only in French and Italian. It is a relatively small museum, with some nice pieces. In particular some bronze statues and other metal ornaments. The underground part was closed, but occasionally you get a peek through glass skylights of the archeology below the surface. The admission ticket is good for other sites in town, making it a nice package deal.

Nice small museum with interesting exhibits. However, almost no English translations make the exhibits pointless unless you speak French or Italian. Only some of the small glass cased items have English translations. This is a shame because the other venues on the ticket (forum crypts and Roman theatre) all have good English translation of all signs and info boards. Beautiful Rifugio, very nice location of course. Compared to other huts quite modern. Room was very nice, there was a plug and the beds were comfy. Staff were nice and spoke good english, some better than others obviously. There was also free wifi which was a nice bonus. Dinner was good. My only compliant is that when we ate breakfast, most of the food was already eaten by people dat ate earlier than us, which I found rather annoying. Other than that, great hut would stay again!

A perfect hyper-market, which has everything a person needs, and at a great price: - massive variety cheese & meats. - fresh fruits and vegetables, which are packed full of flavour----in Canada much of our produce is grown in a hothouse, picked before they are ready then gassed (to ""ripen"") during transport, which leads to rather tasteless fruits and veggies. - an EXCELLENT selection of wine, spirits and even beer. There's many many more isles (health and beauty, house wares etc...) but I did not need to visit those areas. The best one-stop grocery chain, which even offers local treats.

Huge store with a really great choice in each of the sales categories, I was amazed by the amount of products only for baking and cooking, everything is so well stocked, it’s truly mind blowing. I think anyone can find the item(s) they are looking for in that supermarket.

We came across the border from France for four nights and found this truly astonishing supermarket. The most striking aspect of this place is the quantity of fresh food. I don't think I have ever seen so much fresh fruit, veg, cheese meat and pasta in one location. We bought fresh gnocchi and fresh pesto sauce which gave us a couple of very filling meals. The overall shop is enormous and I suspect that you can get almost anything you need here. Brilliant place in a special part of Italy and I will definitely be back at some point. It was one of the biggest supermarkets I've ever seen and they had everything you could think of. It's on the second story of big building and it has a giant parking space. The products have an OK price, but it was hard to find everything I needed. The bakery was a bit too small for the giant supermarket, but everything else was OK. I would recommend this supermarket if you have to buy lots of stuff, but else you should use a smaller one.

This is a very big supermarket with everything from fresh produce to electrical goods. However good luck finding what you need! The layout is so illogical and nothing is where you might expect it. I have been many times and not found what I am looking for only to find it on another visit when unable to find something else. If you have the patience to go round and round looking for what you need then it's a good place.

This place is a maze, you can basically live here and no one would find out. Staff are friendly as far as I know, and the included food place is good. We also went to the nearby pharmacy, which had everything, and the man behind the counter was extremely attentive and nice. Good place.
