We went up the Peñon on a Sunday in mid-January in good weather conditions (not too hot, not too cool, minimal wind and good visibility). The booking system is straightforward, though the gates were not well supervised and my strong impression is that there were significantly over 300 people on the rock (I wasn't counting and I may be wrong) but in places it felt quite crowded and slower older walkers were "under pressure to let pass" from runners and younger groups. Additionally some of the walkers were under 18 (which is not recommended for the post-tunnel stage) and a few walkers had dogs on leads. The sloping tunnel between the two sides of the rock is quite dark and given the very smooth rock surface a small headtorch would not be amiss. Getting up the top is strenuous in places, although I'm sure that regular climbers of the rock know the best paths across the trickier stretches. In my view there are better walks in the area. Though the rock itself is stunning from a distance, I'm not sure that the views along the route and at the top itself are sufficiently spectacular to justify the effort. .... and as previous reviewers have said, suitable footwear is a must, be prepared for several sections where you will need to hold onto chains, no really bad sheer "drops" but some of the ledges are narrow and a little hairy if you don't like that sort of thing.

Lots of unfit / unable / even young kids and small dogs ?! Making it both slow and a hazard for everyone else. Accidents happen but these accidents can be prevented with a bit of common sense !

The climb up is a bit challenging so better wear hiking boots. They say you should make an appointment but people just go pass the gate anyway outside of the official opening times. The route to the tunnel is easy, the tunnel is of course dark and as it’s cut by a machine, rough surface. From the tunnel on it gets challenging as the wet rocks are slippery and you need to grab the metal chain in order to not to fall down. The view from the top is beautiful and worth all the effort. Amazing hike and definitely worth doing if you get the chance. It took us over an hour to get to the top as the track was busy. It's not suitable for children and make sure you wear good shoes. We loved the views walking up and at the top the view is spectacular!

If you plan to start early morning you will be confronted by the park rangers on your way down and threatened withe a huge fine of 600 to 6000 euros. Otherwise a nice hike / climb. Lovely beach to chill out on for the day. Every night/morning tractors go out and sieve the sand. The sunbeds are reasonably priced for the day. The sea itself is pretty calm and shallow, great for kids and adults alike to go for a swim or paddling. Lots of restaurants and bars along the sea front to choose from. Also a great like ice cream parlour located next to Tango restaurant, where the staff are really friendly!

A good place to go on holidays but not all year. There are parts of the year where they don’t clean the beach AT ALL. And sometimes they just stack it up near the embankment so it’s nearly taller. On the other hand, There is plenty of places to rent marine transport. E.g there are 2 places right in the beach where you can rent a Catamaran, paddle surf or kayak and there is a place a little further that has bike surfs and electric bike surfs.

I visited Platja la Fossa on Spain's national day on the 12th of October. I have visited a lot of beaches in Spain over the years and this is without doubt one of the very best. Was extremely easy to find parking even on a national holiday. The beach was busy but not crowded and we were able to pitch up right next to the water. Sand was pristine, water was turquoise blue and extremely calm. Lots of cafes and restaurants open and the view of the rock was absolutely breathtaking. October is a fab month to visit too. Unlike peak summer you can stay the entire day without it ever feeling oppressively hot. Highly recommended!!!

Very nice area for evening walk and also great beach although we weren't beaching there. If was clean, not that busy and with great views! The letters of Calpe are a nice place to have a photo at (of course I have had a few). There are also lots of bars and restaurant that you coild choose from for a drink or a meal. Would recommend it, if in the area.

Had a walk around the promenade from the Diamante Hotel towards the rock and then around the corner onto the beach and into the town. Nice little town with plenty of old buildings and shops off the main drag. Fresh orange trees and stunning views with lots of Xmas decorations still in place. Very clean and the people were very friendly.

I was great experience to see the original baths. The most interesting part was the water supply which didn't fail for centuries and still brings water to the tub. Overall great! You can also watch a short clip in 3 languages about history of each room.

Super friendly and helpful. Went there on Friday June 25 to hire some kayaks. This was our first time since the pandemic...before that we have been there about four times and have always had a great time.

Super experience in family... 1hour catamaran around the área. Vicky super nice. We rented a Catamaran, and one rudder broke 10 minutes in to our rental when we were quite far offshore. It wasn't feasible to raise or detach the rudder while sailing because the screws holding tiller had torn out of the hull. The rudder was dragging sideways in the water, making it a constant struggle to maintain the correct heading, and slowing us dramatically. We called the club and they advised us to sail it back, which took us about 30 mins of difficult sailing. When we arrived, we asked Vicky "This Catamaran is broken, could we take out a different one?" She responded aggressively saying "Firstly, the Catamaran isn't broken, it's the rudder. Secondly you only have 10 minutes left on your rental, so there's no time. Thirdly, the rudder breaks all the time, and other people manage to sail just fine without it, so you could have done the same." The whole experience I had was exceptional. A group of us went paddle boarding. The team at Las Antipodas was very friendly and helpful. They gave us some instruction on using the paddle boards and then let us loose on the sea. Although some struggled at first to get into the standing position, but eventually everybody got there in the end. This was value for money and a great experience. Even though we had somebody lose an item in the sea Vicky and the team did everything they could to help. I would like to thank Vicky Sanchez and the team for a great experience.
