You can either walk, drive or take the cable car like us, up to the citadel. Probably worth it if you want to see Namur during the ride. Once up at the citadel, it opens up to a plateau where it houses an exhibition hall (quite unique architecture), an open space car park, a cafe and a chateau. We made our way to the cafe where the spectacular view of Namur and the Meuse awaited us. We chilled a bit while savouring the sights. Walked up to the chateau, now converted into a cafe and restaurant. There’s a rose and herb garden. If you want to explore further, take a walk down from the cafe to the citadel grounds. All in, worth the €6.50/adult ticket for return trip in the cable car.

The people in this simple town are so very friendly, but if you do not speak French, a translator app or phrase book will be a great help. Gigantic citadelle, the biggest in Europe I think. Lies in the center of Namur and stretches up the whole hill. Parking is available at the Confluence underground garage (tickets are cheaper when using their app) between both rivers at the foot of the citadelle. You can drive up by car or bus, take the cable car to the top for € 5 - 7 or trek up on foot (lots of stairs on the foot paths: not suitable for mobility impaired people). If you walk, take a lot of fluid with you! Roadcyclists also use the steep ascent for training. There's also a TukTuk, which you have to book in a Vance according to the ads ! There are sculptures scattered along the way (see photo of the golden tortoise and it's rider) and the vistas of Namur's old town and rivers Sambre and Maas are spectacular! Stunning architecture, feels very Roman, and you get stunning views of the city of Namur. Walking till the castle with the kids took quite some time but the walk was totally worth it and very satisfying.

Amazing views but not great to access. Would advise cable car both ways if anyone is unsteady on their feet. Cafe isn't too great. Not many choices and self service. OK for kids. There is alittle mini train that runs but we missed it but I'm sure children would enjoy this.

A great experience learning about the history of Namur from the middle ages until the last world wars as it played a significant role in defending the city. The tour of the tunnel systems is quite unique and informative and is a welcome addition to the tourism of the Citadel.

You can hike from the entry way near the roundabout Rue Notre dame, and make your way up to the Tourist Information Centre. There’s also a museum in there that tells about the story of the city. Although the view is very pretty. The way from and to the Tourist Centre is not pedestrian friendly.

A really good museum for art lovers. Great permanent exhibition of works by Felicien Rops. Nicely exhibited with lighting that goes off when there’s no one in the room. The temporary exhibit of work called ‘Hommage a Pan’ was amazing. Beautiful large scale pen and ink drawings. Such detail. Staff very friendly. The appropriate member of staff jumped in to speak English to us.

Due to renovations of the museum of Elsene, part of the impressionist collection can be viewed as well...and even if the permanent collection is nice, this temporary exhibition makes it top.

Great play area for kids. 4 star because you pay for adults to enter children play area, doesn't make sense.

The only thing missing is a way to buy ride tickets anywhere but the entry, like somewhere central within the park. But that was a minor inconvenience (that could be worse if the park was crowded) for the smiles the park put on my kids after a long drive.

Cheap entry, loads of things to do for the kids and for the adults the mini-golf and the giant chess board is cool. The kids love it.

It's a nice place to go with the family. There are nice things to do for both young and older kids, and also for adults. They have mini golf for 2€, barbecue places you can use, cafeteria, and for small kids are enough attractions so they won't get bored. I would recommend to plan a visit there one day before and go inside earlier, so you won't get caught up waiting in a long line at the entrance 😉. Would and will definitely visit this place again. 3€ for adults, and children under 100cm in hight go in for free. For 1€ you can buy tickets for karts, cars, and trampolines.

Fun place for 2 to 10y olds with many activities including climbing, slides, swings, and sandpit. Trampoline, paddle-cars, and minigolf are a bit extra. Small catheteria with almost healthy snacks atna reasonable price. A bit weird that grownups are smoking and drinking beer over there which I do not find reasonable.

Definitely worth a visit. I went on a weekday one hour before closing and it was empty so I could just take photos and enjoy the place at my own pace. There’s also a garden on the back where you can appreciate the building a bit more and chill or look at some statues. The staff there was really nice and welcoming, the girl at the counter that welcome me to the treasury was really nice and helpful. Audio guide is included, and offered in multiple languages. The price includes, the treasury, the paintings, garden and temporary exhibition.

Most of the artwork comes from a monk called Hugo who was not only a master in copying manuscripts but also as a goldsmith, a jeweler and emailing artist. The museum houses also some fine wooden artwork and paintings of Henry with the Bless.

Its very cheap but in my opinion it doesnt offer a lot. Its a bit cool to see old statues of jesus and other bible creatures but I feel like there was just not much else.

Hello, so I have visited for the first time the Grand Casino Namur in December to play the BPC event (1100€, 2200€ and 550€ buy ins) where I was very disappointed. - Missing information about the late registration possibility, no display about possible reentrys (no enough audio announcements). - Service not coming to the tables, had to wait always huge time before gettting a drink. - Directions to the tables are not very clear. - Casino card maker was defect, I had just a super small paper easy to lose in future for identification during buy ins etc... - Finally, my big deception was being seated during a tournament in a very incomfortable chair, table without enought light, very poor seating and floor for players (see photos below). I cannot understand being so badly treated as a customer paying such expensive tournaments. I really hope there will be progress in future.

If you're into computers then it's definitely worth a visit. We drove to Namur from Brussels and initially we've planned to spend ~1hr in NAM-IP and then take it to the Citadelle and onward. Instead, we've spent 3-3.5hrs in this museum alone and decided to postpone the rest till the next time. Quite a unique thing, with a glimpse into the historical role of Belgium (and France) in the industry as well. There's also some interactive stuff in there (for example, you can write a program in BASIC on the Radio Shack TRS-80). Most of the info is in French though (and only some in English). I armed with a Google translate on an iPhone (which translates the text pretty instantaneously by you simply aiming the camera at it), so had no issues with that. Advice to the museum though: place QR-code stickers on the text banners leading to the English (and Dutch?) versions. That'd make it much more accessible for non-French speakers.

This museum is a little treasure. I discovered it by accident on google maps when visiting Namur. The exhibition is a combination of different collections (Bull, IBM, Unisys, ...) but with the 2 hour guided tour (we took the French one) this gets woven into a story going through the history of computing. I would highly recommend first following the tour and afterwards strolling through the museum, this way the collection comes to life for someone, like me, who doesn't know so much about mainframes and mini-computers.
