We took a ride share from Sliema there. Due to strong wings, the water area was closed. We received a small discount on our ticket as consideration and it was appreciated. They have a games and shows schedule for both the main park and the pool area. They have two pools. In the film set you can recognize many places from the Popeye movie, take photos and receive free popcorn and a free post card. Overall we enjoyed our time here.

Beautiful but very crowded. The village has a very pleasant vibe and feel to it. The staff is extremely kind and helpful and they each play a role that was assigned to them and they do it perfectly. I recommend visiting early in the morning to secure your spot, otherwise you might not be able to get it.

Good experience, staff were very friendly and the place itself as a setting is stunning, few of the buildings there is no access but definitely worth a visit. There's really not much to do for adults or not much around it, but you are paying to see an old movie set with a great setting. Tickets were reasonable priced, and u got popcorn, a postcard, and a free drink. There were shows every 30 minutes for the kids. It's definitely worth going to, especially on a nice day for the setting.

Really really good. I cannot lie, I was not looking forward to going. But in the end it turned out brilliantly. This is for children, if you don't have children I'm not sure this is for you. As you would expect from something created by Hollywood it looks superb. But that is the half of it. It's not too large, basically a single street, the beach area was roped off. The houses are repurposed, there's a silversmith, face painting, games area, cinema and two cafes. What really makes it is the fabulous cast. Fully engaging with the children...and adults. There was a puppet show, community dancing, egg and spoon race and even film making. The only concerns are the price of food and the toilets I went into seemed too small. There is a gift shop, another cafe at the entrance as well as crazy golf. The cast make this place special, if you have kids, take them, they'll love it. Highly recommended.

We had a fabulous time there with the family. Our young children not only enjoyed the village, going through various houses, playing some traditional wooden games but also the different nicely timed shows including Easter parade. No doubt will be other shows during summer. Highly recommend for families.

Popeye Village is a really nice place, the view from the top is amazing. The place is very unique and you can actually observe how much work was put in it. Tips: the village has a lot of activities: you have access to sun beds and umbrellas, you have access to the sea and i saw that the space has a lot of activities in the water for kids. For that is better to come early and take advantage of the benefits. You have access to all of that in the ticket price. Cons: if you just want to visit the place, like I was, the price of 20 Euros for an adult is a little to much, given that in an hour you’ve covered the whole village.

Really lovely, sweet place! The bay itself is beautiful and the village is really cool and fun, staff were really nice and friendly as well. Good hit of nostalgia if you're familiar with Popeye, but still fun if you don't know it. Roads to get there were a bit complicated, but well worth the visit regardless.

Very quirky place. The bay is beautiful and there are plenty of sun beds available. We chose some that were further away from the beach as it was a bit too loud down there. Otherwise very cool experience, good food and friendly staff.

This place is a must see in Malta. The tickets cost 22€ per person and can be bought at the entrance. The village was very nice with a lot of activities for both children and adults. What we didn’t know is that it also offers a very good swimming zone with free sun-beds and umbrellas. So bring your swimming suits because we didn’t :))

Popeye Village needs to be visited, explored and thoroughly enjoyed. Such a beautiful unusual setting here in Anchor Bay. 20 different structures to visit. You can get to live and take part in the remake of the film, choose your costumes, create scenes and in the end, take a copy of the recording back home with you!!! Get a boat ride in the bay. Popeye and the rest of the cast will entertain your kids with educational games. There is a vast water park in summer too. The entertainment for all is endless. A must visit for all visiting our marvelous islands.

Beautiful place. Not an awful lot to see movie wise, but some very cool items in the comic museum. I'd suggest plan for a day out for the beach as the water obsticles are amazing!

We visited Popeye Village and our experience was beautiful! I think it is mostly recommended for families and children as there are a lot of things to do and make them happy!! The fee in the cash desk is 22€ per person, no food or drinks included, although you can go by the beach while there are a lot of sunbeds! Unfortunately the sea was not clean but I could not say if this is a due to waves reason or not. In general terms it was a pleasant experience and the guys working in the village were truly friendly and kind!

Very nice place to visit, when in Malta. The entrance is 22 eur, which is not cheap, but you can spend the whole day there. Apart from the architecture, there is special program going on every hour, beautiful little beach with clear water, pool and a restaurant. Before I even went to Malta, one of the places I wanted to visit was Popeye Village, and it didn't disappoint me. From the moment we stepped through the gate to when we left, there were all sorts going on. We was first met by Popeye and Olive then we went on a tour guide and the amount of information given was enough for us to find out about how the Village came about so thank you to our guide. There was lots of dancing and the visitors were able to join in, even in the water. We then went off to explore the different buildings and how the music was done. Whilst doing this, we came out to an interactive activity that involved the visitors. There were plenty of sunbeds so you could relax in the sun, and many people were on the floating assault courses and there was lots of cheers for those who succeeded and laughter of those who didn't. The food we had was very nice and there were other activities we didn't manage to get around there is a souvenir shop to buy trinkets from. All in all, I would definitely recommend a visit to here and give yourself a full day to do everything. Thank you to all those involved in keeping Popeye alive. You certainly took me back to my childhood.

An amazing place to go to! There are some sort of pubs where you can eat/drink inside the Village. The prices are reasonable, expect nothing fancy on the menu. The price to enter the Popeye Village is €16.50. If you go, grab the swimming gear as there are activities for kids and adult every single 2 hours and the water looks cristal clear.

Just too expensive to enter and a little bit too far considering there's not any direct bus line from Valletta. But worth seeing once in a lifetime if you have children who's interested. This village has been built just for filming the 1980. movie purposes and wasn't demolished after that. :)

It is one of the nicest places in Malta to visit. It’s a lovely set to walk around and specially good for children. I would recommend people at least visit once staff is friendly welcoming and they also offer free popcorn and a postcard. The ticket that I paid was €15 per person.

Came here today with my wife - we had a really really fantastic time!! The staff and characters are so great and interactive as well, they did some brilliant shows and a great parade as well! I have read a few reviews that people say half of it is closed etc. It is not that bad!! Yes a few places are closed but they are working hard to upgrade the park and you have everything else inside the park which is so well done. Also €15 for a ticket is not bad at all in my opinion. One of the best places in Malta we have been to!! If you have an open mind and take time to look at the small details in this place it really is absolutely superb !! We will 100% re visit one day I am sure! Really excellent!! I really recommend and give 5 stars!!

Its a small but cute village. Remind me on Disneyland. (No rides tho). It's an old movie set. You can spend about 1-2 hours there. Nest would be if u combine it with somethin else to plan your day.

We went with zero expectations and had the best day of our trip to Malta! If you have children aged 3-4 years old, this is something you can’t miss. The actors are AMAZING, they interacted with our 3 year-old daughter every time, and she really felt she was hanging out with Popeye, Olive and the rest. The place might look small, but there are enough activities to spend half a day easily: face painting, parade, making your own movie, an Easter egg hunt, old style games, etc. all with the kids in mind. Thank you to all the staff for making such a lovely memory for us!

One of the nicest place of Malta. It is actually a movie set which was ultimately transformed as a tourist destination. The location is set at a isolated place which make is more mystic. Loved the azure blue water of the ocean. Multiple activities for kids. Vast resources of nature for nature lover. Entry fee is reasonable. Absolutely worth a visit.

I would avoid this place unless you have small children or are, bizarrely, a huge fan of the Robin Williams Popeye movie. My wife and I arrived just after 3pm (we'd read they discounted the price after 3, but they don't...). Parking is available on site or along the side of the road. The actual attraction is in a beautiful setting - waves crashing along the coast of a very picturesque cove. This was the best thing about it. The place is a collection of kitschy displays with mannequins - the bakery, a dentist's chair etc. They are passable. There is a mildly diverting museum about popeye, but it's on the petite side. Throughout the day there are a lot of activities (though they may not run - they didn't do the movie tour when we were there). They are aimed at families/little children, though vary in quality. One of them we saw featured kids taking turns to roll dice while somebody announced the score they got... It's all a bit bad though. Adults walked around bemused at the fact they paid €15 for this place. Even the staff seem aware - there are 3 freebies to try and justify the price. I'd recommend driving up, taking a photo of the village/cove from the top of the cliffs, then leaving.

The long beach is nice, but very, very full. In the evening people make barbecues, which are actually forbidden. The middle of the beach is not usable because of rocks and is also relatively dirty. The view at night over the city and church is great. If the authorities would try to add more light and manage better the amount of sunbeds, this would become a really nice place to walk and spend time.

Very nice, clean sandy beach. It's big, with some cafes and stores where you can buy drinks, ice cream and snacks. Also, you can rent beach chairs and parasols or you can put towel on a sand. There's a diving center, beach is long, also water is shallow for about 50m so it is nice for children.

Gorgeous! Reasonable priced umbrellas and chairs to hire for the day. I wish I had been able to visit here more often during my week holiday here. It was a lovely beach. Not too overcrowded at all. Shallow out to the sea for quite some time which could be useful for the little one's. I really loved it here.

I just visited the sandy beach since Malta is big on rocky beaches. It was beautiful, warm weather, friendly staff and tourists alike. We enjoyed the ice cream there, too.

A really nice beach in the North of Malta. The waters are clear and it's good for swimming all year round expect in strong north east winds. Personally I prefer the beach during the off peak seasons as during summer it attracts way too many people.

Amazing beach. Soooooo long. There are water sports. There is an area you can snorkel in. Cafes restaurants. Brilliant for kids. Sandy beach. One area has rock pools for the kids.

Lovely beach bay with dazzling cyan-crystalline waters and decent sand banks. Just a pity for all the ongoing constructions nearby, which definitely kill a bit the relaxation mood.

Great beach in Malta. Also good for families. The bar has good food and fair prices. 2 sun beds for 15€. It worths staying here. The only bad points I see are the following: - sun beds are very close one of another - the toilet is only a public one, quite dirty , with no sink or toilet paper

We didn't have much time, but what we've seen and atmosphere we felt seemed very good and entertaining. We've found very nice picnic area between two beaches in Mellieha Bay and gad great time for swimming there 🫶

What a beautiful place to spend a couple of weeks in the sun. Mellieha Bay is the largest sand beach in Malta and is full of exciting things to do. With almost every water sport you can think of available, you won't be bored here. The bay also has lots of bars, shops, hotels and restaurants to choose from. 5 day vacation at Malta, been everywhere...best places was Mellieha bay and island Gozo. At Mellieha bay we have lunch at "Ventiuno" lounge and restaurant. Food was excellent, especially pizza Margarita and seafood...prices more than available,as you can see at the pictures...all recommendations!

Mellieha is a quiet resort but good location to travel from on the local buses.

An excellent experience having never been in a WW2 Air Raid Shelter before. The person taking the money was a 89 year old and remembers the war and using the Shelter. Some of the information in the tunnels was fascinating. 10 out of 10. I would highly recommend a visit.

If you are near in Mellieha or nearby, please view the WW2 Shelters you will not regret it! Cheap admission and a part of history you will not forget, the ticket officer has a wealth of knowledge about the Shelters and is extremely friendly. Can take 1-2 hours to view as the Shelter is huge and runs under alot of Mellieha but such as fantastic experience!

If you are near Mellieha or nearby, please visit the WW2 Shelters you wont regret it! Absolutely amazing experience, hidden gem. Walk beneath Mellieha village through the limestone tunnels, all dug by hand during the war - learn about the gigantic, brave effort Malta played, supporting the UK and the allied forces - very moving. I cant recommend a visit enough 😊👍

A really well kept piece of history, very cool in the midday sun. Worth a visit if you are in the area,for a feel of what it was like during the war.

Visiting here widened my education about WWII - and the impact on Malta. It was a beautiful walk through with a short film at the end - I felt like I was transported back and I absolutely could feel my eyes welling with water thinking about the conditions Maltese people endured during this time. I would 100% recommend the tickets are just a bit over €2 and you can leave a donation at the end.

What a lovely little hidden gem of Malta! I would highly recommend this to anyone..it's only €2.40 for an adult entry but the history that comes with it is incredible. The gentleman at the start is full of knowledge and a lovely person to talk too!

If you want to see what the shelter looked like during the war, it is worthy place to visit. Cheap tickets and very polite man works here.

The most breathtaking place. Incredible history and resilience of the Maltese people explained and experienced through the visit. It will only take you 20/30 minutes to explore the shelter, but you get a real sense of life during WWII. A must for your visit, and then pop to the Sea View Cafe and Cocktail bar by the church to chat through and reflect on your experiences. A must visit during your stay.

Run by volunteers, a really good experience. You get a little idea of what it was like for the people using the tunnels during the war as air raid shelters.

€2.40 each to explore these air raid shelters from ww2. Artifacts on display the beginning as you enter and then you are straight into the dimly lit tunnels exploring how life was during the bombing. Plaques on the wall give information ad you walk through and some of the 'rooms' are set up to show their function back then. Probably no more than 30 mins to explore the cramped tunnels and rooms but worth it to get a feel of the conditions. Recommend.

I didn't go inside on this visit, but I have been inside on other visits to Malta. It's 7 Euros to enter. Inside you will see what is essentially a museum. There are information boards, model mock ups of historical events and plenty of relics to see. There is no guide as such, but the personell there are very knowledge and will answer any questions. Worth a visit for sure

Well preserved and demonstrated WW2 tunnels. Worth a visit to learn a bit and to get out the sun. Only accept cash at my time of visiting so make sure you have bills on you.

Tucked away under Mellieha's main is a fascinating story of the locals digging their own air raid shelter. An amazing thing to experience as the tunnels go on for hundreds of metres. Nice to see a different bit of Malta's history and lovely and cool on a warm day - highly recommend

The visit was both enlightening and moving. The staff was very kind and knowledgeable and added depth to the experience. The small price is well worth it for a glimpse into history, leaving you with a profound appreciation for the peaceful times we are currently living.

Placed on Mellieha, this WW2 bomb shelter shows how the people of Malta tried to protect themselves during air raids. Very interesting to see first hand and well worth a visit.

Worth visiting, very low cost but really opens your eyes to what the war was like for the people of Malta.

Great views of Gozo from the top and some local history to read about. Somewhat small and sparsely filled but only 2-3 EUR to enter. It is accessible by a short car ride but be prepared for a very narrow “two way” road!

I have visited this place a few times over the years and it never gets tired. It may only be a castle on the hill, but there is so much more to it. On selected days you can experience a reenactment day and surround yourself in the history of the Tower in real life. The views are astonishing and well worth the treck up to it. It only costs 2.50 euros to enter, and it's worth it really. When we visited recently we were met by a gentleman called Chris. Super friendly and knew his history. Happy to help. The Tower was renovated in 1998 and the efforts have paid off. This Tower really is beautiful and offers a trip into history, along with some stunning views.

What an incredible place to visit! The views are stunning and it's so interesting to read and learn about the history of the red tower. The entry was €2.50 each and the volunteer there was very knowledgeable and friendly and provides you with a detailed description of the tower in your native language! Would really recommend to anyone.

Long, healthy walk through the park or along the road. Historic location. Costs EU 2.5 to go inside the Tower. Plenty of flowers to enjoy as you walk. Amazing scenery looking out over all approaches.

The tower offers a wonderful view of the northern part of the island of Malta, the neighboring islands, the Malta-Gozo ferry crossing. Don't listen to those losers who say there's nothing to do there! :) If you like beautiful landscapes, then you will definitely like it here!

Very informative, always interesting to get to know some background information about a place you're at. On the roof of the tower you have some great views. This is also provided with information about every side you can look. There is also an informative video , duration about 14 min including (starting with) some drone shots. It's worth to visit it if your not too far away. Good to know, they have cold water available in small bottles.

An interesting tower, and the red stands in stark contrast to its surroundings. The €2.50 entry fee is nothing outrageous for what you get - a bit of information and history on the inside, and the opportunity to enjoy the views from the top (with explanations of what you are looking at in each direction).

The tour has been restored 30 years ago and painted with the red color. It used to serve as a surveillance tower against the Turks and the corsairs. Albert, the man running this place, is a superb guy who gave us lots of information about Maltese language and history.

Interesting lookout, one of many on the Islands of Malta, Comino and Gozo. Dates back to the 15th century, nicely preserved. Allow an hour or so.

5* is purely for the beautiful view from this site. Unfortunately, we couldn't go inside to comment on that. On a stormy day, the view was incredible from the Red Tower parking lot. Parking lot is not very big but still I think it's big enough to cover a decent number of cars. Road to here is pretty quiet too.

Medieval defence tower that's been saved by renovation. Interesting to visit and only a few euros to get in. You'd expect it to be cash only but they prefer card - I think they should make it clearer as we nearly didn't go because we had no cash.

We stayed there for 7 days. How can this be a 4 Star Hotel? When you get there, Lounge Looks nice. However, rooms are not equipped with latest stuff. Air condition is Not working properly, you can choose room temp. However, doesn't matter If you choose 5, 15 or 25 degree it will only cool or Heat. The fridge was Not really getting cold. Overall everything was Not in best condition. Mattress was the worst I have ever slept on! Felt Like sleeping on the ground for a Week. But Not the only reason for Bad sleep, since doors do Not Close very well and Walls are really thin, you will hear doors slammed all night Long. Cleaning personnel was also quite lazy, only doing a shallow job. We ate Something on the plates given, and did not change them but rather Put them back with strains on it…. And worst of all, I Hope you don't mind Sharing your room with some cockroaches. Furthermore, don't get fooled by the Photos of the Hotel! The beach is actually directly next to the harbour, you cannot really enjoy swimming there! Pools are ok. Sun beds are all horrible, you cannot change head rest at all. You want to check Out the Sauna? There you go, it Looks Like dumped 10 years ago and will never be switched on at all. Fitness room? Go search for it! There are signs all over the Hotel but you will Not find it, since it is on the Other Side of the Hotel. Table Tennis, where? And regular Tennis and multipurpose court look Like Last maintained 20 years ago. You fancy balanced, healthy and fresh stuff at the breakfast Buffet? No vegetables at all, except I guess whatever was left from the Dinners 2 weeks ago. No Joke, there were moldy tomatoes on the First day…. Coffee and "Fruit" juices are not drinkable. Good that there is a very polite British guest Relations Lady, writing down all our complaints and "forwarding" to the staff, playing down everything we said, to have nothing changed at all in the end. Funny seeing Other guests complain about similar stuff every Other day again …

My stay at Paradise Bay Hotel in Malta was overall satisfactory. While the hotel offers stunning views and excellent room cleaning services, it's worth noting that the property seems to be showing signs of age. The pool, unfortunately, did not meet my expectations in terms of cleanliness. On the positive side, the staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating throughout my stay. The standout feature was the breathtaking view, which added a special touch to the experience. If the hotel invests in updating its facilities, it could greatly enhance the overall guest experience.

My recent stay at Paradise Bay Hotel didn't live up to its supposed four-star rating. Here's why: The food for lunch and dinner was really bad - oily, tasteless, and the place was not clean. We spent a lot of money on meals that weren't worth it. The staff had trouble understanding English, which made things frustrating. It took forever to get simple things done, like clearing the table. The hotel's carpets and furniture were old and dirty. Even the mini-fridge in the room didn't work properly. The people at the front desk weren't friendly and acted like they were better than everyone else. Worst of all, there were cockroaches near the pool area, which freaked me out. The only good things were the warm indoor pool and the view from our room. Overall, I won't be coming back, and I can't recommend this place to anyone. It's not worth the four-star rating it claims to have.

I was torn between a 3 and a 4 but eventually went for the latter. * The accommodation is very cheap both in terms of the meals as well as the room. * The view from the room was awesome, big balcony overlooking the sea. * Food is mediocre, breakfast is a bit better than the other meals but all in all, not very happy with the food choices we had in the buffet. * Most of the facilities were closed - we were there at the end of April. Both the Jacuzzi and the fitness rooms were closed. This should be highlighted in the website as it was one of the main reasons I wanted to book it. * There is no way to indicate that you don't want your room cleaned (unless you talk to the reception I suppose). There is a Do-not-disturb button you can press but that is disabled when you take the card out when leaving the room. There should be a way to indicate that you don't want to have the towels / bedsheets etc, changed.

Although the furniture and the decorations are old, but I am satisfied with the services, the personnel, cleaning, the size of the room, and facilities. The breakfast is ok but could be better. 😉 For the people who like to stay near the center, then this is not a good option. However, with a car would be fine. For me, it was a very good choice. Wish you a nice vacation 🙂

The buffet breakfast was very good, varied and tasty (machine pineapple juice not that much, though), the pool very enjoyable, although I would raise the temperature a couple more degrees in Winter, the dressing rooms were wet all the time, maybe there should be someone from time to time to dry the floor, cos it's very slippery, and the lunch was very good and abundant. The views, excellent! We had a great time!

We live in Malta and wanted a 4 day break, so we booked full board from Monday to Friday. Rooms are comfortable and spacious and the buffet food is really nice. However, there are 2 main drawbacks. 1. The constant noise bashing: loud music at the restaurant, blasting music at the pool,... Good luck if you want a quiet rest or have a nap if you are given a pool facing room. In a hotel room, I usually like to be able to sleep. When using a hotel pool, I usually like not to be imposed someone else choice of music, blasting so loud that I couldn't even listen to my own music through my headphones or have a conversation with other people, never mind having a rest. 2. The pool is sometimes way over chlorinated. When I told the reception they called the technician who said things were normal. No, they definitely are not normal. I went in the pool this morning and when I came out my eyes were burning, really burning. This also happened even worse 2 or 3 years ago in the winter (to the extent that I thought I might have to go to the hospital), and thought maybe it was a one off accident. I was told this morning at reception that maybe I have over sensitive eyes, to which I replied that, first of all I used the pool the day before (with my eyes open as I always do) and none of that happened, secondly I swim every day either in the sea or chlorinated pools and I am more than accustomed to chlorinated pools and that this never happened before apart from in their pool. So, if you don't mind the constant music bashing and the risk of eye burns when using the pool, then this hotel is fine.

Strange hotel… They make you feel like a criminal as you have to pay up front for everything. Towels require a deposit, room charges are non existent (you must create a debit account if you wish to not have to carry your wallet around). Cooling system does not cool the room, just blows the air around. Shower leaks like a sieve, making the bathroom floor a pond. The worst part is the lack of cleanliness near the pools. Between the dirty nappies being left more than 24 hours, the beer cans everywhere and the nonstop thumping music, it is the least appealing place to relax that you have to pay for… My children also didn’t appreciate the hallway of cockroaches on the lower floor when coming back from the beach each evening. Only bright spot was the restaurant across the street, Porto. Good food at good prices and very accommodating. I would recommend stopping there regardless of the stay at the hotel.

I had a great time in Malta, and the hotel was decent. The breakfast's were okay nothing special, good choice of food for the dinners probably wouldn't go for half board next time. What sets this hotel apart is the friendliness of staff they really were smiling all the time and made me feel very welcome. The boat trip to Comino Blue Lagoon is one of the best excursions I've ever been on, I did this trip on 3 consecutive days - Stunning

Okay, so this hotel is kinda hard to give starts - because some is good, some is okay, and some is bad. First the rooms. On the bright side - they were big! There was an amazing seaview. On the other hand, the power in the room had a malfunction sometimes and didn't work. There was noise from the traffic, and quite much noise from the wind hitting the door, which made this horrible squeaky noise. The bathroom was fine, but old. Cleaning was very nice though! The staff was okay, always trying to find a solution. The food! Was good. Simple, but good. Full English every morning, with various coffee, tea and juice. Nice lunch and dinner everyday, and they absolutely know how to cook meat. While we were there, we ate lunch at the beach restaurant on weekdays, which was very nice - great staff! The pools were cold, but we used them anyway. We went outside the season (November) There also was an inside pool, which was hot! But it had a bad smell 😅 Even though there are a lot of negative things, there's also a lot of positive things. We overall had a very nice stay. I could spend a week at this hotel again.

In my opinion it's an awesome 3stars hotel, but a poor 4stars hotel. Room was amazing, clean and shiny, the view was stunning and I really enjoyed my time there on the balcony. The buffet meal was rich but the attention was more on the quantity rather than quality, the K-Lounge restaurant is quite good tho. Indoor pool water was quite cold and forget something like "fitness room" or "gym" as it's definitely not as described

Room 266 only has 3 power outlets (2 250W and 1 220W). The refrigerator will take a week to defrost on its own was the little freezer compartment is a solid block of ice. The beds were not made. Breakfast was a typical British fare but the sausage was over cooked and the milk was warm. The best service came from the bar personnel!

The room was clean and staff was wonderful. Excellent view of GOZO from my room. Very close to excellent diving. Paradise divers is a short walk away. Close to ferry but everything else requires a cab to the cities. I’m looking forward to my next visit as we use this hotel often.

Last-minute reservation for a group of 55 people. The staff provided great assistance and the service was outstanding. They agreed to all of our requests with no problem. To be truly honest , the website pictures are more attractive than the hotel in real life. I was a little disappointed as the room was very standard, old with a bathroom dated early 1900. You gotta get imagination to picture the view on the bay as WE were located on the roof. The hallway was very dirty, i Saw debris on the floor on my arrival and it remained at the same location the day of my departure!! Each Time i went to my room i had to step over suspicious waste on the floor and avoid dirt along the corridor! This is not acceptable. The hotel is more spectacular on the website...the bay is stunning and this is the asset of the hotel.WE could hear people slam the door every Time they leave, this is unbearable If you enjoy quietness and you want to sleep. The food was acceptable nothing more. Honestly WE paid too much for this level of quality. Not sure i will return.

The staff was super friendly and helped you plan your vacation with great advices. Really family-friendly guys and they offer a lot of special events for kids. The Resort itself was unfortunately very poorly cleaned (didn't receive new sheets for a whole week, cockroach in the room, dirty and partially damaged pool area) The Food at the Il-Merill is nothing special, really just to feed the masses. For the same money you can go to Mellieha with the bus and visit a local restaurant.

Paid 50 per person for a day at the pool for a completely underwhelming experience . the hotel website advertises 4 pools including an indoor one which we wanted to use due to the sun. however the ceiling is made of glass so it was like being in a greenhouse, not to mention that it was dirty. Another of the pools was out of order. the main pool was OK though except for when they played party music. though that is par for the course..we noticed a dead cockroach next to a deckchair. The showers and changing rooms need maintenance and better facilities. the buffet lunch was passable but some of the items were frozen stuff you can buy from a supermarket. at the least the view was nice.

The hotel may be getting on in years but I would love to return here. Stunning views of the sea. Extremely friendly staff from the maids to the pool bar and restaurant staff. A very nice guest relations man - Alberto. The hotel has a huge sunny pool, direct access to the sea and across the street a small beach with a „Porto” restaurant with a 20% discount for hotel customers and again - extremely nice service. From here you can easily get to Comino and Gozo as the hotel is next to the ferry terminal.

This hotel is located in an amazing place! It feels like you live in the center of the sea. Staff is very friendly and polite. I recommend all inclusive,as food is more than good. Particularly,there is a huge variety of vegetables,meals and sweets to choose from, every day. This hotel has magnificent view,its very clear and is suitable for couples or families.

The only plus of this hotel is the location and views. The rest of it is to be avoided at all costs. My partner and I booked thinking it would be upmarket, clean and quiet. We were so wrong. Children running around everywhere, the lobby is constantly full of, what can only be described as, heavy drinkers and children on too many E-Numbers. Constantly noisy when you’re in your room, slamming doors and for some reason they decide to put a gym on the 4th floor in the middle of all the rooms. There’s a draft through the room all the time making the doors rattle and the balcony door didn’t even lock! Staff on reception look depressed, not surprisingly as I would be too. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.

This hotel is overrated!! Everything is old in the rooms, they don’t deserve 4 stars! Careful when you are paying extra for sea view! We paid extra and instead we got street view and the port, when we asked they said this is sea view but wasn’t as we saw other rooms when someone was cleaning, we also booked double bed but we got twins beds they fix it by covering the beds with a matress topper! The hotel is far away from what you need to visit you can’t go without car. Food is oily and disgusting, they should put a price for quality not quantity! Also the hallways very dirty on the skirting board for 4 stars hotel!! 1 star for the hotel and the staff too as they don’t really try to help to find a way to be good for both sides and only for them! Maybe in the future they will understand to be kind with people cost you 0! We will never come back to this hotel!

The Paradise Bay Resort is nearly at the end of the road leading to the Ferry Terminal. We like this although it does take a bit longer to travel to other places. The hotel has a beach as well as outdoor and indoor swimming pools. The food is good. There is a buffet for all meals but you can also buy food at the bar. Our room is en suite and there is a kettle. The rooms are serviced daily , or not, as you choose. Staff are very helpful and polite.

We stayed in a Junior-Suite Room it has a view of the Sea and the outdoor pool. We've booked a room with breakfast for 6days but from day 1 to 6 the food is still the same. The room is good but a bit outdated, in the bed we only had 1 outlet to charge. We also had a problem with door functions (opening/closing). The staff is not that accommodating. They also do special request; my husband arranged a surprise for me, he booked for my birthday something beforehand.

I enjoyed the stay at this hotel. Great view at the sea, very clean and also room gets cleaned everyday. For breakfast there are lots of foods to chose from and they have evening restaurant as well with nice staff and good food. I liked that thete is an inside gym, salon for women, pool tables and big souvenir shop. The bus stop is exactly accross the street. Thank you Paradise Bay for a lovely holiday. I recommend for anybody who is looking for a relaxing and entertaining stay.

Fab hotel , plenty to do for adults and especially the kids.theres plenty of pools including indoor pool. Also play room with games,pool tables.outdoor play areas for babies and older kids.if you like sea swimming this is the place.you can even try a bit of diving.staff are so friendly,food is fab .good bar service.boat to the gozo is 2 minutes away and busses are plentiful.€2.50pp on bus you can get on and on within 2hours .

Well the room was nice and comfy with an amazing view the stuff was nice but it was really hard to communicate because they don't have good English. the bed sheets doesn't get changed everyday plus the bed wasn't comfy at all with pillows broken in the middle the food wasn't that bad but it's not a 4 star hotel type of food . In my opinion it doesn't deserve the 4 stars

Right at the top of the hill, overlooking Mellieha Bay, is this beautiful church. On most days you are welcome to go onside and visit, but on this visit, the main church was closed. There are clearly renovations being done. I did however manage to visit the courtyard and its worship Chambers. Again, this place is steeped with history and much of this can be seen around the church. Stunning beauty and architecture.

Beautiful local parish. I enjoyed the Maltese mass. I felt at home even as a Canadian with only a small grasp of the Maltese language. Easy for any catholic to feel comfortable with mass anywhere in the world and this parish was no exception. People kept to themselves. Not terribly social. Reasonable show of attendance even with so many masses offered each Sunday. Not sure how welcome it would be to bring small children.. I wish I'd had the chance to speak with the Priest.

Stunning architecture! An iconic building of the area, it stands proudly on top of the hill edge and can be seen for miles. The bells ring often, especially on Sundays and holy days. It's great to experience and the outside lights up also! Worth visiting.

This church has a very beautiful facade and interior. There is a new history museum, another chapel and a grotto very close by. The least to mention are the awesome views that one can enjoy from its location.

Lovely historic church located in Mellieha neighbourhood. The church main building opens only at certain times but the mini prayer room is open throughout the day. Please wear appropriate clothing as guidelines posted on the doors if you're entering the prayer room. The external areas are beautiful and gives nice views of the bay.

A speedy and cheap way to get between the main island of Malta and Gozo. Its worth a day trip out there as there's a lot to see and plenty to visit. Smooth and easily accessible for all, and if its a clear sunny day, its an incredibly welcoming trip across the water.

It was very organized. You are guided to line up your car in lane, then the cars go on board one by one. After parking there, you're free to go to the deck to rest, buy some food/ drinks and enjoy the view. Soon you'll reach the other side to your destination.

Very well organised ferry service between Malta and Gozo. Not overly expensive and definitely worth to experience if you have the time to visit Gozo. You cannot stay in your car but all ferries have a seating deck and bar and shop. The outdoor seating deck is excellent to view the islands of Malta, Comino and Gozo. Sometimes waiting time can run up to an hour depending what time of the day and especially in the weekend. But sinds this is the only way to get across by car, you have no choice but to wait it out! 24 hour service !

The ferry was comfortable and fast. Book your tickets on line for 9,5 euros instead of buying them there,for 15 euros.The only bad thing,is that you are not allowed into the boat earlier than half an hour and they had the bench area closed(Christmas time)so they forced you to visit the nearby coffee shop.

The place is a must see wether you are of a religious persuasion or not . The architecture is beautiful and serene and the views over Meliah are stunning . Please take coverups if you want to enter the church .

It's small, not opulent but atmospheric. Don't miss stopping here at least for a few hours when travelling by bus via Mellieha. There's a small museum here, as well as a collection of votives and a documentation about papal visits. Through a glass floor you may see a crypt with ancient bones.

I had a fantastic time doing my Advanced Open Water course and a couple of follow up fun dives with Paradise Diving. Danielle and Laura were fantastic instructors, and Rob was great at organising everything. I left feeling a much more competent diver and got my first taste of wreck diving, an activity I will pursue further. It's a large world with lots to see so I'm not sure when I will be back. Though I will be back, I've got to see the Faroud and the Santa Marija Caves. I have no hesitation in recommending Paradise Diving.

We had a great 3 days diving with Nev & Jack! Everyone at the dive centre was super helpful and nothing was ever too much trouble. All equipment was well maintained. I completed a couple of PADI courses whilst I was there. Highly recommend the scooters - say hi to Angus and Grace if you visit!!

Neville and Derick went above and beyond to accommodate us. We dove 4 dives and were met with professionalism and enthusiasm for each one of these dives. At one point they packed extra wet suits that were dry just for us to stay a bit warmer during our surface interval. We had an absolute blast diving during the off season in Malta. Cannot say enough good things about these guys. They drove all over the country with their truck full of gear to make sure we had a great time and got to dive the best sights!

Amazing experience! I can fully recommend diving at paradise diving Malta! I did the the PADI open water dive course. The team is very professional, takes their time for the trainee which makes every dive comfortable! Despite of the weather conditions and wait list, the team was flexible during planning.

I had an amazing scuba diving experience. My two instructors Jack and Ali gave a lot attention for me, they explained all necessary things about diving and helped me to feel such an amazing moments. Also the course director Neville was very kind and explained a lot also.

Great experience! The whole Team was really supportive through all the stages. My partner and kids (11&13) successfully completed Padi Open Water training. Steff was amazing with children (patient and fun) – kids adored her! Location of the Paradise Diving School offers easy access to the training area for the shallow water exercises and two minutes away is a brilliant diving sport having plenty to offer (deep dive and wrecks). Our favourite dive was from the boat to explore Camino caves. Highly recommended!

I went to Paradise Diving, Malta weekend of 25th November 2023 to complete the Part B of my PADI Open Water Diver course. It really was one of the best experiences ever! Part B was completed over 2 days and the dives took place at Sirens, St Paul’s and Mjarr ix-xini, Gozo. A very special thanks to Rob for being such a wonderful and light-hearted diving instructor, for making this whole experience one I will definitely remember and for finding us safe and great spots to dive even though the november weather wasn’t always on our side! I have undoubtedly found a new love for this amazing sport! And now I’m officially a certified recreational open water diver, I will definitely be returning to explore some more underwater worlds soon. Thank you!

Incredible experience. The instructors are very friendly, well informed and ready to answer any and all questions. There's a great variety of dive sites and you are well looked after the whole time. I did my open water and advanced cert here and can safely say I will definitely be coming back!

Can't recommend enough! Me and my partner completed the advanced open water course with Paradise Diving. The team is super friendly and welcoming. We did the certification with Neville and he's the best! We have the Ċirkewwa Marine Park very near the dive center, part of the marine park has been designated a No Stopping Zone (since 2008). They have p29 and Rosy wrecks at swim distance. So just enjoy as much as we did!

Definitely recommending! We had 3 dives with Paradise Diving team, first dive with Jack and two others with Neville. They are really supportive, helpful, professional, friendly and most of all great guys! If we ever come back to Malta it will be because of them👌🏼

I felt incredibly peaceful and calm in the chapel. I visited it everyday whilst in Mellieha and would sit and find some calmness in life. I have never really been able to meditate but I managed here and after many days I feel that I have learnt to breathe and enjoy my own peace. For me it was nothing to do with religion as I am agnostic.

Very peaceful haven. We walked around slowly and observed quite a few creatures. Unfortunately at the time we went there were no birds resting however we will go again until we are lucky to be there at the right time.

We really enjoyed ourselves here. The lady that greeted us was really friendly and knowledgeable. We saw a variety of birds and even managed to see some chameleons 😊

Nice little reserve …too bad that there are just so few places in Malta like this. Take some time - and more over - a good set of binoculars and hide in one of the two watch spots - to get a glimpse of the birds that go there. But beware: you need to be quiet otherwise you will scare away the birds. If you have a nice camera with a good Teleobjektive you might as well catch some brilliant photos.

Amazing nature reserve, we went specifically to look for chameleons. The park can easily be accessed via bus or car, just be aware of the opening days & hours, can be found on their website. The park is free of charge. We got in at 14:00, immediately when the park opened and it was very quiet. The walking trail is very short, so take your time. In total we spotted four chameleons! Some advice on how to spot them: - Go early to the park when it’s open. We spotted chameleons close to the trail, but when they saw us, some started to move farther away from the trail, making it harder to be spotted by someone else - With regards to above, do not touch the animals or get too close to them. You’ll only scare them off - They can be found on eye level, or higher. We didn’t see any lower or closer to the ground. - Take. Your. Time. After every five steps we stopped to look around a bit. - No need to be very quiet or anything. In fact, the first chameleon we spotted was very close to the entrance, and we only saw it because he was slowly moving away from us due to some noise. (Our kid was whining he wanted some candy. As we found our first chameleon because of him, he did get a lot of candy) Of course, most people actually visit this park for the birds, but that just isn’t my cup of tea to be completely honest.

Great place to chill out and watch nature.

2 2024, it looks as if they have been recunstructing it and it needs a few years to get back to nature. Lake is lifeless and only bits of grass on the small islands. No birds here. But a fine idea to start being aware of the nature in Malta. It was almost to late.

We saw a chameleon at 35°58'07.6"N 14°20'50.9"E on the tree, along the trail. It was very hard to spot this creature. We have also seen a couple of gekkos on the side of the green buildings. You have to be extremely quiet and careful because they are very timid and run away quickly.

Selmun is an absolutely beautiful place to visit. I do my walk 3 times a week in selmun. Very interesting and lots of lovely sea views when you keep walking direction to selmun Palace

A beautiful place to visit. Great architecture. There is a lovely restaurant with magnificent views. There is a dirt track that leads you to a lovely secluded beach. That's if you fancy a little break.

Visited the Palace in the 70s when it was still a hotel. Beautiful and great food. Stayed in the new Selmun Hotel in the 80s when it was owned by the German Maritim group. The palace was closed up by then. Seems no one wants to refurbish a Maltese gem. How sad.

This building is so amazing, one of the best on the islands. Sadly government doesnt make anything with it. If would be the perfect place for a ballroom or a hotel.or anything just dont abandon it.

BE CAREFUL Beautiful spot to dive and jump, but very dangerous—not for the height of the jump, but because there’s only one way out once you’ve jumped in. It’s a moderately long swim to get to any place where you can climb up to land, and along the way you run risk of dangerous waves, currents, and jellyfish. The water can go from calm to rough very quickly. I left with far too many jellyfish stings, and many other swimmers have actually died due to dangerous waters. This place is only worth exploring if you have a guaranteed safe way out. Also, there are sea urchins.

The Lagoon is more a hole in the ground. You can't jump or climb into it but could swim through a tunnel along the coast. The landscape around is rather rugged and sharp-edged stones are everywhere. For best access drive to the parking spot next to camp site and walk up the small hill.

Amazing and 100% worh visiting! You can also jump in it since it is deep and safe, i recommend you to jump from the highest point, on this side it is the most deepest. After you jump there is a hole where you will find exit, you just have to swim a bit. Also take a flip flops with you (for ex. throw it into the water before you jump)

No tickets needed. Lagoon was great but once you jump, it is quite hard to go back up. You need to do kayak or to have a small boat to swim in the lagoon.

Good access by car, free parking, then some 500 metres on foot. Free access. Be careful, terrain it's really rough, you'll need sturdy shoes. The hole in the rock it's impressive and worth visit.

Nice long sandy beach BUT. - There are basically NO TOILETs! Only few ones that cost 1€ per use and they all are portable ones. Don’t wanna know how gross they are inside since u could see no one is looking after them only taking the money for them. So imagine hundreds od pple going to the toilet where exactly??? U get the hint. And there are NO SHOWERS (okay maybe there are 3). No where u can clean ur feet full of sand before u get the bus. - There are few stands with cold drinks, gelato, food etc but… the fast food u get there is beforehand prepared and they just grill it a bit to make it warm. U get a wrap that is warm outside but cold chicken from the inside (just for example). Also everywhere is very sticky, not well cleaned so alot of bees everywhere. And there are loads of trash (especially cigarettes) laying around. The only appropriate place for u to enjoy drinks and eat normal prepared food is the two restaurants on the beach. Each one on the ends of the beach. - the sunbeds and sun umbrella’s - they charge u 15€ for two beds + umbrella. They start packing stuff abit early aswell. Overall the most NOT okay thing is the toilet availability and cleanliness and non existing showers. I mean if this is one of the best beaches and u CHARGE for everything why can’t u make it more “clean friendly”? If ppl pay “for the beach”, is nice to see the effort aswell from the other side.

Lovely sandy beach that is a great length for a short walk. Lots of free parking nearby and little shops for a small snack.

You cannot expect more from a public beach. There are restrooms, shower and some fast-food stands and also you can rent a sunbed with sunshade. The sea is warm, sometimes there is litter when the tide is in. One star down for the people renting sunbeds, because they start every day to pack them too soon at about 16:00 and up to 18:00 you hear just slamming the beds and it's really annoying.

The water has a higher density than normal water, so it can help you swim more freely. The beach wasn't that busy. The only problem I had was that to walk some time to get to the deep side of the water :/ 8/10

A nice beach with clear water. Not very crowded in October. A good place to spend the day and have a swimm.

Beautiful sandy beachfront with low water coast. You can walk about 100mtr into the water (sand on the bottom) before the water reaches your waist.

Wonderful beach with plenty of space and available loungers. Two loungers and an umbrella for 15€ for the whole day. Sandy beach, no rocks and very shallow water for about 80m

I heard that that’s the largest beach in Malta. It’s really huge and so beautiful! Don’t be scared of people, there’s a lot of place for everyone! The water is clean and beautiful! You can also rent chairs/umbrella/boats. There’s few cafes if you want something to eat/drink.

As an Australian, I’m not very impressed by this beach. Pros are that the beach beds are affordable (we haggled and got each bed for €6 with umbrellas) and it’s a sand beach. Cons: I don’t know if we are just having bad luck on today but the water is murky and there’s visible garbage in it. It’s also very shallow water, which could be a pro for some people. You will also see beach vendors passing by with sunglasses etc but they are not very persistent if you tell them you’re not interested to buy anything so they won’t bother you too much.

The longest sandy beach in Malta with gentle access to the water. There are toilets available on site, a well-stocked bar and rental of sun loungers and umbrellas (€5 each). The water is clean and encourages swimming

Thankfully this beach is not far for us, excellent facilities, life guards clearly visible. Good for water sports. The sea is lovely and warm and clear, you can walk out for quite a distance without being under the water, the whole area is sectioned off limits for boats etc making this feel safe, and it is for swimmers and anyone in the sea. Lots to enjoy!

Beautiful beach. Very family friendly. The water isnt deep and you can walk out a good 50 meters and it only be shoulder height on a 5ft 9 adult. Beach was very clean and the Costa Del Sole is a great restaurant and cafe, with loads of free parking just behind it. 2 x sunbeds and an umberella is €16 for the day, but can be hired for half a day also. We had a great time, bring plenty of sun cream.
