Onuma friendly bear restaurant is okay. They serve barbeque-style grilling experience where you grill while you eat, so make sure you prepare for the smell (which is normal for grilling places). We got the lamb grill set and it was okay. Portion and taste is okay.

I rented a bike here all day for 1000 yen. The condition of the bike was not very good but it did the job. I wish I had rented from Porotokan across the street. The bikes there are almost new and are the same price for the day.

Some people say the skiing courses are for beginners. Definable yes for skiing but for snowboarding it wasn’t. A few courses were completely flat and hard to go forward without taking off the board. We could enjoyed since we have experiences before but beginner boarders were suffering from this flat course and stuck completely.

Skiing school with English speaking personal teacher ready for beginner to learn and experience skiing, cost 2 hours for 3000¥. Take gondola to the top mountain to enjoy the spectacular amazing view.

Some people say the skiing courses are for beginners. Definable yes for skiing but for snowboarding it wasn’t. A few courses were completely flat and hard to go forward without taking off the board. We could enjoyed since we have experiences before but beginner boarders were suffering from this flat course and stuck completely.

I also would note that in this off season, the majority of restaurants were closed - making the trip a bit less convenient. I still highly recommend going! Absolutely wonderful and peaceful nature without the crowds. I can not say that it is more than half a days trip, but the nature is certainly worth the travel. It is free admission with plenty of touristy stuff nearby. Additionally, plus is that it is dog friendly, but note, some of the trails might not be improved enough for smaller breeds. The biggest advantage, though, for me over other tourist sites in Japan was that the crowds were not there like most other places.

Nice place.. small little trails to walk around... you can rent bicycles.. tricycles and even paddle a boat.. came with my elderly parents.. they enjoyed it.. Wil definitely l come back again if I am back in Hakodate.
