The most beautiful sunset that I have seen in my life! What an amazing experience! The castle is not that big so it is really easy to walk around and see every part of it. Totally recommend the entrance, the view you have from up there is incredible!

The castle is well preserved, and the views from the top are breathtaking. Tickets are really cheap, and kids under 18 have free entrance. I recommend to visit the castle early(before 10am)if you can, cause there are almost no tourists. Definitely worth a trip!

A place worth visiting. The castle is very nice. Also the panorama of the lake. Very crowded on weekends and full season. Parked 3 km away because of thousands and thousands of cars looking for a parking spot.

We were actually staying in a hotel inside the castle. When you arrive and walk thro' the main gate it's like a fairytale. With the narrow streets, beautiful food in the restaurant's and beautiful things in the shops. We were even treated to a lighting storm whilst we were here. Amazing. Well worth a visit or even better stay in a hotel here.

Small castle but packs awesome views all around! It's surrounded by turquoise waters which is best viewed from the top tower. The water is so clear you can see giant fishes lazing below. The stairs are steep and narrow but worth climbing past your fear.

This was a nice interesting castle to stroll around in. I do think some signage as you walk around would be good. There was a lot of information on the restoration works but not so much on the original building and use. It was pouring with rain while we visited so we may not have got as much out of it as we could have but that’s not their fault. I did think it strange that we had to engage with 3 people just to enter the building, 1 to tell us to wait beside a sign that said ‘wait’, 1 to sell the ticket and 1 to say enter and head to the right. These people were all within about 5 metres and earshot/sight of each other. Seemed overkill and a waste of money that could be spent on the castle itself, just my observation

Did not enter but viewing the outside in the sunshine was worth the visit. Sat in a restaurant nearby and enjoyed talking about the castle and it's construction and beautiful colours. Visit the inside maybe next time we visit this part of the lake.

Beautiful place but didn't go inside as we were busy looking around and walking everywhere. Church across from the entrance is worth a visit.

Visited this place on a Sunday via public transport bus. Be sure to get here fairly early to avoid long queues. We got there around 9.30 and there was only a queue of a couple of people ahead. The main ticket office offers a 3 ticket combo for 15 euros which is for the castle, nearby ruins and a small musuem which is further away. The castle offers fantastic views from the top of the castle. Would highly recommend visiting as its a stunning piece of architecture and offers lots of photo opportunities.

If you like old buildings, consider getting a combined ticket for this castle and the grotto. It's a cute little castle and you can climb up to the battlements and one of the towers, giving you a view of the harbor and the whole south side of the lake. Go a little later if you want to skip the lines in the off season, although I hear you can maybe buy tickets online? Might be worth doing that.

Great place to visit. The castle is built over a lake ; it is very well preserved. The surounding areas include a small chapel,., souvenir shops, places to eat and there's a boat ride you can enjoy. The lake is beautiful cristal clear water filled with ducks, swans and fish. There is also a dock for smaller boats.

A historical gem! It's beyond words how interesting this location is. I enjoyed climbing the stairs and seeing the preserved artifacts. One can only imagine the about of construction needed to create this location. Likewise, how many people it took to service this place.

Walked up in Feb. Was a cool day easy 1km walk up a wide gentle road. €6 gets you in. Year pass €21 & combined ticket for the castle is €8. The villas is worth the walk. Its more than 2000 years old. Don't forget your bathing costume Jamacia beach, top tip bring footwear to swim with beach is rocky.

If you come for the CMBYN arch, sorry that section is now closed for visitors. You can only watch at a distance. That’s a bummer. The heat is incredible and there’s not much shade so be prepared. The ticket costs €8. On the other end of the site lies another exit/entrance point to the beach. You can visit the beach and re-enter with your ticket.

Impressive historic place. Wide area with olive trees and spectacular 360deg view. Even great with kids because everything is save. Entry fee 9€ for adults. Please mind that during summer it’s very hot on the top of the hill, so don’t forget water etc

Bit of a ruin (pardon the pun) but set in lovely scenery with great views of the lake, and literally thousands of matural olive trees growing throughout it. Nice beach situated at the back with access down from the ruins.

Unbelievable archeological site, right at the shore of Lake Garda. The ruins of an ancient palace, some sections very well preserved. A beautiful olive orchard in the middle with shade to rest, and bring your swim suit - there is an adjacent stoney beach, might be hard to navigate without watershoes or if you don't have good balance.

I'll start by saying that the ruins are definitely worth a visit. My only gripe is the services around them versus the ticket prices. The bathrooms lacked the basic facilities. You'd think that at 9 euros per person, there would be enough budget to buy some soap and toilet paper for the bathrooms. Furthermore, there is no possibility to buy something to drink while you're up there. Because if you're taking your time to admire the ruins at 35 Celsius, with little to no shade, you're going to get thirsty. Not asking for anything fancy, a vending machine with water bottles should be enough. Finally, when I asked for a museum flier in English, the cashier pointed me to a board with QR codes, and I scanned the one for the English language. The website from the QR wasn't loading, and it kept timing out (same happened for everyone who was scanning the English QR code). Went back to the cashier to ask for a printed flier in English, and she said she didn't have English printed fliers, only in other languages. Great...

Asterix always says "These Romans are crazy!". But the Romans knew a great place for a villa. Very interesting and it's way bigger then I thought hearing it being a villa. The ruins and museum (and the attached village) are well worth a visit.

Very interesting historical site. Amazing to see what was built and used 2000 years ago. Worth buying ticket that gets you into the Castle in Sirmione and taking day trip to Desezona to see villa site. Great views from the olive garden area at the top of the site.

Could really do with more information panels, but this is an amazing sight to see and the views of the lake are amazing. There's a tourist train that takes you up, and back down again, for two euros each way, if the heats too much fir you and the admission price is reasonable. We spent just over an hour here, and could have spent longer but my wife isn't as interested in Roman history as I am.

It's interesting to walk round this ancient Roman villa situated on a hill at the end of the peninsula...it certainly was a grand structure in its day. The walk up to the villa isn't too strenuous, but can feel like a bit of an effort in the heat. There is the option to pay to be driven up & down by electric carts. There are various taps on the way, providing free fresh water, but there can be small queues. You can access Jamaica beach from the grounds of the villa. You will be given a wristband when exiting the grounds at that end, so you can get back in.

Lovely view, terrible beach. There is no shore to speak of, only a few square metres of exposed rock with shrubs (the small area may be due to the height of the lake water in Spring). Groundskeepers were doing landscaping on the area immediately adjacent to the beach. I suspect that this landscaped area and the associated sun loungers will be pay-to-use when complete. When the landscaping is complete it will be a pleasant small park next to the lake, but will not be a beach by any stretch of the imagination. Bathrooms were newly installed but had no soap or toilet paper!

We wanted to visit this beach on Easter 2022 but it was closed. For which reason?? Nobody knows. There is no information anywhere about this. They charge 8 to 14€ to see the ruins, but they won't allow you get to the beach, which is the main reason why get went there...It is also quite incredible that traffic is allowed through the tiny village of Sirmione because the streets are very narrow and there are many people walking around. It is a very nice place, but get your wallet ready!

This beach is a bit hard to reach, especially if you are not local (you need to walk some 1500 meters to it), but it's well worth-it. Beach isn't too crowdy, has a bar on site, but almost no shade at all. Lake water is very warm, at least in July.

The perfect end to a trip to Sirmione. The beach is made of flat and smooth huge stones where you can lie down and relax after a long walk in the old town. These stones go into the water which is an interesting experience. The water is warm and clean.

Beautiful beach, as featured in the film Call Me By Your Name. Accessible from just before the Grotto entrance (no payment needed, just take a left down a steep and winding slope), or (as we did) we took the pathway to the Lido dells Bionde and walked around the cliff side (I did it in Birkenstocks but would recommend something a bit sturdier). We walked all the way round to Jamaica Beach and then did the walk up to the grotto entrance.

It is beautiful but I really thought it woul look like something else. It's definitely worth the trip but there where a lot of tourists and it felt rather small. The view was very nice though.

Great view of the lake and mountains. A little bit too much turist here and if you're not a fan of sun it's a little hard to find a little shadow. Also you need water slippers because it's very slippery in the lake!

This is a unique beach at Sirmione. Instead of pebbles, the beach lays upon flat rock beds that extend far into the lake. The beach is quite shallow and not that suitable for swimming. However, if you want to wade through the water (which is some of the cleanest on the peninsula) and gaze upon the view of the Grotte di Catullo, it is a fantastic spot.

Jamaica Beach is like an oasis slightly tugged away at the western point of Sirmione. You need to take a slight steep stroll down but if you’re lucky like my 8 months pregnant girlfriend and I you catch Antonio at the top with a golf car and he will happily and carefully drive you down the slopes. At Jamaica Beach you are greeted by happy ragazzi at the bar and you will find many sun beds overlooking the rock slabs beach with enough trees to naturally shade you from the sun. Or you cab lay down on the rock slabs. Sun beda are €5 for four hours and €10 the whole day (during mid September).

This place has something I can’t describe. If you walk around here during the sunset, you may lost your soul through these rocks. Pure magic. I’m in love!

Lovely place. If you didn't know this place, entry could be a bit confusing, but it is free. When you stand few meters from Geo Museum entry, there is possibility to go down into some tree gardens (by your left side). You can rent sunbeds and umbrellas or buy drinks in the beach bar. In some more exponed times beach could be really full. If you like to swim, it probably took you a longer time to get on place with enough water. There are small stones at the dry part of the beach, which change for the really big ones in the water. For me, shoes were not necessary, but some other people prefere to use them.

On a still day with very little wind this beach is absolutely stunning. With beautiful views, lovely water and the very best stones for skimming! I'm so glad we took the time to explore and stumble across this gem.

This isn't a "flashy" church but rather quaint and small. It is located at the entrance of a touristy walkway in Sirmione. It's really tiny and there is no entrance fee but it's rather fascinating. It has a small intricate altar and beautiful frescos all over the walls. Small stained glass windows add a nice touch too. A nice place for a quick stop and a couple of pictures.

A lovely setting & fabulous old church simple decoration on the interior & wonderful stained glass. The poignant War Memorial is to the left of the church. Away from the crowds but only 800m from the centre & 200m from the Villa Catullo. Well worth a visit if in the area. Returned in 2022 & enjoyed every peaceful minute.

Fine ancient church recently restored in a secluded corner of Sirmone near the villa of Catullus. A lovely peaceful place to take a break from the tourist hordes and heat , with interesting frescos.

The most ancient church in Sirmione, located atop on a hill near the archaeological park with the remains of a Roman villa. Built in the 8th century AD, it contains some frescos of the 12th and 15th centuries. The bell tower is dated to 1080 AD.

A very picturesque entrance to the main church in old Sirmione, with marble pillars & arches. As with a lot of Italian churches dimly lit but never-the-less a nice interior. It is actually bigger on the inside than it looks from the outside. Worth spending a few minutes inside on the way to the beach or Villa Catullo.

A very unique church although not too big, especially the paintings and the coloured windows, you can relax and meditate and/or probably pray a bit to ease your mind after you've reached to the town of Sirmione, especially when it's summer time and it's almost warm outside. I've visited and been to quite many churches but this one although not too much famous, however, it has a good beautiful and spiritual atmosphere. Strongly recommend and not to skip when you're visiting the city or the beach!

This is true peace on earth place as Maria Callas has regret to back when she lived in the area! It is great for a day or evening walk, it also have some benches so you can have a sit as well:) it is close to the aqua baths so it has some soulful like smell (rotten eggs:). We went at evening time with kids. Enjoyed a lot as there were very few people around at that time. Calm, serene and weather was just wow.

Great beach for adults and kids. We rented benches and umbrella once (12€) for the day. Theres huge grass area for free. Option to rent paddle boats with slides on...lots of fun for kids. Great restaurant on the beach and on Fridays they have a market with fresh produce in the parking area next to beach. Very clean! Only one toilet facility though.

It is definitely a very nice place and a lovely winery. You can taste all their wines, BUT: You should NEVER buy a single bottle there. The prices are totally crazy. I bought some bottles of the 2010 Pietro Dal Cero for 70,- EUR and you get the same wine for less then 60,- EUR via internet. That is ridiculous. => Nice place to visit and to taste their wines, but nothing more. ... I am feeling me totally tricked by them!

Great wine and a nice winery. Unfortunately some areas were closed due to covid measures and the distillery could not be seen. Would definitely recommend Ronchedone 2018 and I Frati 2020.

We arrived for a wine tour and tasting to find we were the only 2 people (due to being out of season) We were treated so well, our host keeping us well informed at every stage and even letting us have more than the usual 3 wines to taste. The buildings and cellar are stunning, my favourite wine was I Frati which we managed to get that evening at a local restaurant! I cannot believe they provide this service for free and would highly recommend for any wine lovers!!

I had the pleasure of visiting Azienda Agricola Ca' Dei Frati, and it was an experience that exceeded all my expectations. This winery is not just a place to taste exquisite wines, but it's a journey into the heart of wine-making tradition. From the moment I stepped onto the property, I was struck by the beauty of the vineyards and the meticulous care with which they are maintained. If you want an experience, then this winery is for you. Gorgeous interiors, you can get a tasting notebook with all their signature wines and write in it your observations. Everything so beautiful. Also a good costumer service. But the wine itself seemed to us a little average. If you don't want to pay 70€ per bottle, then you can find better wines in neighboring wineries for much less money.

The employees are very friendly and they know about they products, very clean, very organiced. It's a kind of an Apple Store, but with usefully products. It's allowed to taste 4 wines. Finally, we found out that they also produce/sell grappa and nearly olive oil. How ever its a celebration of wine. Try to come without the kids, for them it's boring. Pricing has a range from ~10 to ~200€. We have to come again ;) Hopefully, we can also try the restaurants next time.

Fabulous wine tasting with a tour of the vineyard. Very informative and friendly staff, we had a fabulous day! Would definitely recommend a visit. Wine was served with bread and cheese and the price for 5 wine tastings with a tour included was only €27! Extremely reasonable and worth it!!

Lovely family run vineyard. Elisa gave an informative tour and after our wine tasting we stayed and enjoyed a nice bottle of wine on the terrace. The wines taste great and are good value for money.

Definitely worth a visit. It's so amazing to see a family business brought forward through generations with knowledge and passion. Attended the wine tour (in English). Very thorough tour around the winery by Gloria who speaks great English. The setting is very beautiful and the tasting informative but also very personal. Eliza who is part of the family was on attendance explaining the wines and the story behind each one. We left with 5 bottles to take back to the uk to enjoy another time as a reminder of our experience. Highly recommend this winery, the accompaniments to the wines for the tasting were also delicious. The grandmothers homemade red onion jam is a delight.

We were there in September 2022 for the tour and tasting. A beautiful property and everyone there was so friendly. The tour was informative and we did a 4 glass tasting. The tasting was accompanied by cheese, bread and olive oil and a delicious onion jam. A very relaxed atmosphere and they made us feel so welcomed. Elisa, one of the family members, stopped by the table to welcome us. Highly recommend!

Cascina Maddalena was the warmest and coziest winery I’ve ever visited. The tour quide was the sweetest and the family who runs the place, were very generous and kind to us. We did the tour and the wine tasting and the wines were amazing! All in all it was a core memory. I’d give 5 stars out of 5!

While staying at the Yachting Hotel Mistral (small but fabulous and would highly recommend btw) we walked to this little pocket of history nestled in a residential area. The family has owned the property since 1924 and they've been making wine there for four generations. A family member invites you into their lives; explaining the location, the lineage, and the love that is put into every bottle. It's fully relaxing, without any "exit through the gift store" kind of feeling. We loved it!

Elisa and her team have a beautiful oasis, with a stunning vineyard, fascinating tour and (most importantly) beautiful wines. The tasting, which takes place overlooking the picturesque family vines, is relaxing and informative. Highly recommended.
