Absolutely beautiful place. Bit pricey, but if you visit on a nice day and stay for a picnic it's worth the money. There is so much more to see than the Abbey. The park is huge and the further you get into it the prettier it seems to get. There is wild deer at the far end. Dog friendly too, which is always a bonus for us.

This is a beautiful place to visit. The ruins are amazing, beautiful and haunting. The gift shop is very good amd the coffee shop does a lovely range of cakes. Take your own picnic if it's a nice day.

Great place for a family visit. Facilities near the entrance are spot on, with a good size restaurant, toilets and shop. Then there is a lot to explore, with a play park for the children, just after the entrance, then on to the abbey itself (very impressive) and walks through the grounds and formal gardens. There’s a lot of walking involved, but accessible with buggies. Lots of space for the little ones to run around.

The scale of the place will surprise you; expansive park, grand lakes and huge ruined abbey. Plenty of toilets and cafes or bring your own refreshments. The triple decker chocolate sponge was great!

First visit back here for quite a while and is as beautiful as I remember. The Abbey is amazing and evokes thoughts of what it must have been like in its day... very spectacular. The water garden too is a lovely walk. The lakes were a little clouded over with algae and weed probably due to all the hot weather this year but nevertheless it still looks great. Lots of walks with lots to see and do... a must National Trust place to visit.

A fabulous visit, easy parking, short walk to visitor centre. Excellent facilities; the cafe was superb with lots of food choices, the gift shop was well stocked. The abbey itself was an easy walk from the entrance and was amazing, much more impressive than photos can do justice. A great day out for all ages.

Not been here for years. All beautiful kept gardens. Plenty of walking to be done around the estate. Lots of seats about for people to sit on & if you're not very mobile you can hire a motor scooter. There's some gorgeous views from the tops through the woodland walks. The abbeys ruins are very well in tact. Continue on through to Studley Royal Deer Park. We managed to see some. St Mary's Church is worth visiting too. It opens at 1pm.The water gardens are lovely too. There's plenty of picnic areas & toilets. By the visitor centre there is a restaurant. There's a cafe too in the grounds. We were lucky enough to visit with a free National Trust Pass😉👍

Super National Trust property. Grounds and ruins are a great place to spend the day. Restaurants and visitor centre are good. They had a small but good selection of healthy plants for sale.

We went in First week of September and weather was perfect. It has nice long walk if you park near information centre. Try to park near Abbey car park then it will be easy and short cut. If you are national trust member then you can save £42 for family of 4. Otherwise £17 for adult and £12 for children for entry. There are children play area. 2 cafes. Many places to explore

Initially thought to be a bit pricey for entry. However, you can easily spend several hours at the Abbey and the surrounding area. The size is immense. The ruins are spectacular. Staff are welcoming. Highly recommend a visit if you are in the Dales.

Absolutely beautiful place. So historic, in fabulous grounds. Ideal for a wonderful day out. Theres the hall, then the ruins of the Abbey. Great sweeps of grassy landscape disected by the bubbling river that falls into the landscaped lakes. Plenty of car parking outside, courtious friendly staff, a great cafe overlooking the lakes and if you have one you can take your dog. Fantastic! 10/10.

It was absolutely beautiful!! It was misting a bit when we arrived but, it just made everything look a bit spooky we weren’t too bothered. As it cost £18 per person we decided to just join The National Trust for £120 for the year for both of us with no issues. It was an effortless process that allows us access to many site and parking areas for 365 days. We enjoyed the trails, nature, and all the pheasants around the grounds. The abbey is truly magnificent and worth visiting. We will have to come back in the summer when the weather is nicer. The abbey looked beautiful with the autumn leaves and the misty rain so, we feel like it was worth the visit!!

Great place for a day out if its sunny. Only fault I found was the lack of benches to sit and rest especially if you are disabled and can't walk for any great distance

We visited this place in the afternoon after leaving Brimham Rocks. This was probably unwise given the size of place. The park and gardens were absolutely amazing 👏. There is ample parking in any of the 3 car parks available, even on a busy day. I recommend using the main one by the visitors centre to start. There are toilet facilities at three locations around the park, but none at the Mill Cafe. There is an amazing playground at the visitors centre for kids, the best I've seen anywhere. The Abbey, even in ruins, is a magnificent place to see. No photograph can capture its true beauty.

Great location to lose the day. Very nice walks around the grounds with many interesting attractions to see. The cathedral and immediate surroundings were most impressive, great to explore, and access the ruins whilst learning the history of the area from the time it was built through to its dismise. The estate is much larger, with numerous pathways to choose from. There are also a few cafes scattered around, serving hot drinks and some light bites.

A huge, beautiful area to explore. Entry is quite expensive if you don't have NT membership, but you can easily fill a full day here and still want to return. The children enjoyed the craft session that was on in which they made little lavender pouches. The Abbey itself is magnificent and so much bigger than we expected. There is a lovely walk over to the water park too. There's also a deer park, but we didn't walk through there as it had already been quite a long walk for small children. There are 3 cafés on site and we enjoyed a nice lunch at one, and drinks and ice lollies at another. There were vegan and gluten free options at them. A wonderful site which we'll definitely be visiting again.

This theme park has radically changed since its roots. It is now more of a kids theme park with simple child friendly rides. We knew this before visiting and came especially for our little one. There are many rides however queues were taking a long time. Some rides had 3 carts (to take 3 families) but only 1 cart was moving at a time making the queue time 3x as long. Other than that a good day out

Great theme park to visit if you have small kids, perfect selection of attractions for ages maybe 8 years upwards. We arrived by car fairly easily via the motorway, I did notice there are separate car parks for busses coaches & disabled customers. Around the park, every ride has a measurement chart & every ride attendant double checked this before they let you on. There wasn't any rides or attractions for my youngest child but my middle child went on pretty much every ride. Staff were all friendly & helpful, really polite & would happily let you stay on the ride for another go if there was no queue. The prices of food & drink were as you would expect, ridiculously expensive, but you could take your own food & drink to make it cheaper. I chose to eat & drink at the park, it cost me £26 for 3 sandwiches & a novelty slushy. Lovely clean & tidy park with lots of nice things to see, pretty much every ride was working & in use, apart from maybe one & the under 5's soft play area was also out of order. Lots of toilets around & food stalls to buy drinks & snacks. There was only one or two downsides really, those being that quite a few attractions & games within the park cost money to play, the shooting range or the golf course, it's a bit unfair if I've already paid full price to access the park. The arcades I can understand or even hook a duck as there's a prize in the end. Secondly the park seems a bit forgotten in areas, such as the soft play or opposite the soft play is a huge area which looks to be closed down & have been for a while, a bit like time forgot but you can kinda still make out the attraction that was there years ago - just a bit sad really. Huge indoor areas, buildings with nothing going on in them, hopefully these are not a sign of things to come. All in all a great day here.

What a fabulous day out! We visited with our 8yo, 4yo and parents and everyone had such a great day. Plenty of rides for the little ones and the grandparents particularly enjoyed a (very) competitive round of mini golf. Play areas are fab, particularly the first one as you enter the park. I would definitely recommend buying the meal deal tickets, such a bargain! The pizza and doughnuts are delicious 🤤 Staff are so friendly and helpful, they were all great with our two kids. A real credit to the park - particularly the two guys in the ice cream/fudge shop beside the Hall of Mirrors and the guy operating the small pirate ship (who I kept getting in the back ground of our family photos 😂) A perfect day out for families. We can't wait to visit again soon!

I loved Lightwater Valley when I was younger. Took my 8year old and 9year old. Both had a fun day and really enjoyed it. Unfortunately it was not the same for me but I understand they are marketing for 12’s and under. The place is a little run down and I’m not sure if it’s got to do with investors. Would like to see more rides and newer rides. Take a panic, the food is a little over priced specially paying £20 pp for over 90cm, but you expect that at any adventure parks. Anyway the family had a fun day out and enjoyed it! You need to keep this open for the Northeast, we lost wet n wild and metroland. There is hardly anything left up north. Bring it back to what is was..

A good day out for the price if you have young kids. Most of the good rides are gone, other than Eagles Claw and the pirate ship. The whole place has a more family-friendly focus, with a poor attempt at a nature trail. Kids 10 and below will really enjoy it. Went with a group of 12 year old girls, who still really enjoyed it, although they just kept going on the same rides time and time again. Wasn't too busy on Easter Monday, with only minimal queuing for the rides.

Excellent theme park to visit for younger children probably up to 12, not many big rides. Perfect for toddlers to teens. Prices are great. Fast past wristbands available but tbh not needed as queues weren't long. Tree top trail was excellent and included in price. Lots of places for picnics and places to buy food too. Parks dotted around for kids to play on, angry birds park is awesome my kids loved it!

Lightwater valley has gone downhill since I was a child. Brought my kids to have the enjoyment I once had as a kid. All the rides there are either junior or family rides. Gone has the ultimate and the rat/raptor (roller coaster in the dark) and in there place is the empty shell of what was once there. If there was a retirement home for fairgrounds then lightwater valley is your place.

First time visiting here in a few decades. Went with my niece (7) and nephew (9). It's changed a lot since I last went with thrill rides replaced with many sedate rides aimed squarely at kids. Although I think older kids (teens and above) might find few rides to thrill them.

Visited today for the first time with our 2 young children aged 2 and 4. They had a fantastic time. There was plenty to see and to do for our little ones. All areas were clean and staff appeared friendly and happy to assist. We had fish and chips from “big fish”. The food was pricey as expected with the portion size being quite small. Overall a really nice day out.

I am genuinely shocked by the amount of poor reviews, I can only assume that the people leaving them didn't read the website. The park is quite clear about what they offer and who their demographic is. I guarantee you the people moaning are the same ones who are queueing to get onto the kids rides themselves. Yeah there's bigger rides elsewhere but you'd also pay 4 or 5 times the price. I have two young kids and they absolutely love it here. It's clean and feels safe. There's regularly offers on, and it's very very fairly priced for what it is. We could spend £70 on one pub meal, so it's absolutely worth it for a whole days entertainment. We seldom have to queue for rides, so the kids are able to do everything they want. The park is small enough to easily be able to walk away and come back to it later of needed. I will say though, that when queues have happened, they do move quite slowly, although I do, in part, blame inconsiderate adults queueing for kids rides. The chippy portions are good, pricing is as you'd expect for any place with a captive audience. Ice lolly pricing is a bit painful, but they have to make some money somewhere. There's a lot of land around, and so I really hope they keep growing into it with the same theme, and I will always recommend it to those with young children. I'll be really sad when mine are too old to enjoy it fully as it's a great day out.

Went on a teacher training day 30/11 as their local school holidays don't match ours. Their Halloween things were fantastic (having recently been to Alton Towers's Scarefest, the Frightwater Valley version was sooooo much better). I remember going as a kid (25ish years ago), but I don't remember it being aimed so much at little ones as it is. I thought it was mid way between Gulliver's and 'Towers, but it's very much on par with Gulliver's for ride ages. Saying that myself, my 9yo and 11yo had a great day all dressed up and we're there from open until closing.

Really good place to take the little ones, no big rides here apart from the claw and a small but fun roller coaster. All the rides and amusements are aimed at the smaller child, we took an 11 year old and 2 year old. 11 year old enjoyed it but did get a bit bored in places where the younger one loved it. It's like altona towers for youngsters. The food as you would expect is astronomical in price although there is plenty of benches for those who bring their own food. We did so can't comment on the food other than price. The wait for rides was small but we did go on a Friday but at the same time it is half term. The parking is good and plenty although didn't see any electric charge points. The staff very friendly and helpful. This is a nice little park that offers a lot, fills a day and isn't too far from the coast if your away for a weekend. It is set in a large area and sometimes a bit of a walk between areas, my only let down was the hall of mirrors, wasn't what I was expecting. Was like a fitting room in a clothes shop, except these mirrors allowed you to pick and choose your own weight and height to suit yourself, if you get it you get it. Go enjoy and tell your friends. Fun times, we all could do with some of them.

What a great place! This is virtually on our doorstep and this was our first visit. There were no queues on rides and they were all mostly age appropriate for our 2 girls(5 and 9) who had a great time! The staff were friendly. We took our own food and drinks to keep costs down but there were plenty of places for snacks again with no queuing. I would visit the website beforehand to see if they are offering discounts, we got 50% off the price of a a “pay on the day” entry price. Which we were pleased with as it was school holiday. The only criticism would be that it is looking a bit run down and overgrown in places but not enough to spoil the fun! Would definitely recommend a visit.

Brilliant!! Outdoor playground, soft play, loads of rides, dinosaurs and a train ride. It’s Exactly what you need for a young family. For a family of 4 I thought it was good value. Our two had an amazing day, looking forward to going back.

Visited yesterday with my granddaughter. We had a really nice day with walks and rides,a bit of shopping and food out. The rides were fantastic, we really had a great time. The flowers starting to grow and Bloom, lovely to see and it very good maintained. The staff is overall polite and helpful. The only downer was the staff in the Big Fish. I was not very impressed of the older staff members. They were rude, loud and sniggered and made fun of people,yes people noticed. And bossed the younger staff members around and made them do all there work. There was a lovely girl with long darkish blond hair, her name is Lexi. She tried so hard to please everyone and get all her work done but the older staff members made it very hard for her. Bless her, she deserves a gold star for dealing with it so professionally. I wish there adults to supervise more. We did enjoy the food and definitely return another day. Thank you for a lovely day.

Lovely cathedral. Crept passageway open, spooky little walk. Small treasury and library upstairs to look at. The organ here is impressive, and so is the stain glassed windows. Free entry (donations welcome) Gift shop Candles for donations to make your prayers.

This was truly a grand cathedral to have a look around with my friend, covered by a glorious arch roof! The designs are definitely aesthetically pleasing and there is a strong level of variety in the memorials, which create a true atmosphere alongside the lit-up seating area. A choir was playing in the cathedral, adding a special feel to our visit!

A lovely welcome as soon as I walked into the cathedral. The card guide was really easy to follow. If you would like to take pictures you will need a photography permit, purchased from the gift shop for £3.00. It is a beautiful building and really well maintained. I was lucky to be there during a service taking place which was amazing. The library and the crypt are a must see. I was very interested to learn about the various treasures. Well worth a visit.

A nice cathedral, though not massively better or different to similar large northern cathedrals. The organ works well if you're lucky enough to hear it playing. There are some unusual statues inside alcoves at the back of the cathedral. Entry was free.

Very interesting cathedral. Didn't see it at its best as the main hall being set up for a fayre. Right in the centre of Ripon with plenty of parking close by. Shopping arcade + Sainsbury's just across the road. Worth a visit if in the area.

Compared to other Cathedrals, Ripon is a simpler version but it was very enjoyable. All the areas were open to the public and the curators were very friendly. There was no admission fee but you can put money in the collection boxes. There is a well stocked gift shop for that special gift or memorabilia. My favourite part was the crypt which is accessed down wooden stairs then through a narrow corridor. It felt vey claustrophobic but worth the effort. I would recommend going as this Cathedral was one of the best that I've ever visited.

Very pleasant staff and volunteers. During my time in northern England I visited 4 cathedrals (Newcastle, Durham, Ripon and York) and found Ripon to be the most pleasant. The bigger cathedrals are beautiful but can feel more like tourist destinations than houses of worship. This struck the perfect balance of grandeur and warmth.

It’s such a beautiful church with so much history following this iconic cathedral in the center of Ripon. The welcoming and friendly staff explained about the 10k individually folded origami angel’s for the lost soul of C19 it’s very touching & meaningful. When you have time to explore the cathedral you will know Gods inspiring works thru his people; the alter, choir area, the wood work, the stone carvings and all the hand stitched cushions is iconic and very impressive. The peace and calmness of the cathedral is time for one to reflect and connect to the Divine. My sincere Thanks to all the volunteers and staff in keeping this historical cathedral alive. God Bless always

M first visit last week. Stunningly beautiful and well maintained. Even the "priest " (not sure of correcr terminology for Church of England) came up to greet me and made me feel very welcome. And great to see it's a very "active" and community focussed cathedral with lots of activities.

We enjoyed a quiet wander around the cathedral which doesn't charge admission only asks for donations. I really enjoyed the needlework cushions, the peace and tranquility, the crypt and being able to wander freely with plenty of opportunity to sit and rest. There are guides to answer questions and lots of interesting things to see.

Great place to visit. Amazing cathedral the stain glass windows are superb. Would recommend a visit just to see them. Went there as a family and they have a nice trail set up for younger kids which my little lad enjoyed completing. Staff were friendly and helpful. And beat of all unlike places similar it's completely free to visit.

Please convey my thanks to Ronnie Metcalf whose knowledge was a significant part of our enjoyment of this amazing cathedral. We will be seeking out future performances of the magnificent 3000+ pipe organ and brass band performances if they are available this year. We enjoyed the Ripon inn as a superb hotel nearby.

We popped by here recently and, seeing that there was no entrance fee, we took a brief look inside. The interior of this magnificent building is really impressive. I particularly liked the view down from the nave to the high altar, looking through the ornate archway above which you can find the organ. There are wonderous, delicately carved statues and wooden pieces everywhere. The whole place is so full of history. I wish that I could have stayed longer to study it further.

I would recommend a visit to Ripon Cathedral which is located in Ripon, North Yorkshire. It is a historically significant church with roots dating back to the 7th century. Car parking can be found in Margate Carpark for a small charge ( coins or cards) a short 5 minute walk to the cathedral. The cathedral, formally known as the Cathedral Church of St Peter and St Wilfrid, is built in the Gothic architectural style and features a stunning facade and intricate detailing. It holds a rich history, and its construction spans several centuries, with the choir being one of the earliest parts built in the 12th century. The cathedral has undergone various renovations and additions over the years, contributing to its unique blend of architectural styles.

Free to enter. Excellent. We were there for Remembrance Service. Excellent service. Next time will go back for a longer visit as it looked brilliant

Friendly and smiling staff in all areas, beautifully maintained grounds for a pleasant walk around. A spacious adventure play area for children to explore, including a couple of things to do on the water. The dolls house and teddy bear exhibitions are definitely worth seeking out too, you could spend either a quick 10 mins or an hour in each depending on your interest. Train ride was fun, was quiet at the end of the day on our visit, when earlier rides had been full. We had brought a picnic for our visit but the menu for the restaurant looked surprisingly reasonably priced which is not what you expect from such an attraction so well done for that. We did have an ice cream which was nice.

Amazing place with stunning views around. The garden is the perfect place to play 'Hide and seek' 😁 Also there is place where you can eat a nice lunch, have ice cream, drink coffee. Another great thing is the playground for kids and the mini train. Fantastic place for the family and friends 😊

Amazing day out, the house is one of the best I've ever visited, very interesting tour, knowledgeable guides. Grounds and gardens are lovely, especially the double herbaceous borders, there is rock gardens, rose garden, rose and laburnum pergolas, 2 lovely small buildings with shell murals near the river. Highly recommended the boat trip, the little train ride and the cafe, lovely coffee, cakes, sandwiches and the home made ice cream is amazing. Brilliant place for kids too with sand pit, adventure play area, water fountains they can run through, pedalos, swings, a teddy bear and dolls house exhibition. Large car park, picnic area and gift/plant shop. Forgot to go the lovely old church we saw on the way in as it's not on the map but you can visit.

I haven't been inside of the house because it needed booking in advance. The garden was very impressive as far as size is concerned. It has so many rooms and hidden nooks that you can get lost in. Be sure you go to see the doll houses and teddy bear house!

Beautiful house, the guided tour was very interesting and informative and staff were welcoming. Less able people might find the stairs in the house difficult as there is no lift. The grounds have lots of activities for children including miniature train, boat and play area. Everywhere was very well maintained and lovely to walk around. Definitely recommend.

A stunning gardens, woodland walk, house, dolls house collection and the teddy bear collection. Plenty of parking, toilets and easy going for children and disabled. Cafe, restaurant and shop on site. The sausage and mash was the best. Ice cream parlour was card payment only (its the way forward, so easy). Kids play area, miniature railway rides and boat trips on the river. A super day out for all.

An enchanted ‘Magical Neverland’! Nature’s masterpiece that filled my senses with joy. An extravaganza of spectacular color & hidden corners to discover. I was blown away by the exotic flowers, the rockery garden & the magnificent japanese gardens. A fabulous dolls house & a bears picnic area a stunning spell binding place. A haven of relaxation to fill one’s mind with joyful thoughts. Something for everyone. My grandson loved the relaxing boat ride & the men who were in charge were very helpful, professional and looked after our needs. The perfect balance of harmony transported us to another world. The amazing staff and charming gardeners always ready with a wonderful smile made our souls blossom. The delicious home made food in the Garden restaurant and cool surroundings along with the welcome ice cream turned our day into an unforgettable experience. The eating areas are immaculate. The bathroom facilities have wheelchair access. There is a baby changing area too. A perfect cool respite on a hot sunny day.

Another fantastic day out at Newby Hall. We always have a wonderful day out and the kids love it. Wether it's exploring the gardens and blowing off some steam in the adventure playground or enjoying an ice cream or miniature train ride through the grounds. There's always something to do. My daughters personal favourite is the water play area (be sure to pack a towel!). We have yet to explore the house but looking forward to doing so once the little ones are older. Tickets are a bit on the high side but I understand it is due to the upkeep of such a fantastic place. We always make sure we keep an eye out for deals on tickets etc. We can't wait to visit again !!

Great 3-4 hours out with the family. They've got a great setup. First, the house tour is very interesting and there are lots of cool things inside to see. Guides are knowledgeable about the history of the property. Outside, the gardens are maintained to a high standard and a nice peaceful walk around. For the kids, they have a playground and a miniature locomotive to ride on - very enjoyable 10min ride! The little garden cafe/restaurant food was also quite tasty. Definitely worth a visit!

Good day. (Silk's & saddles) seafood buffet. Disappointed with the amount you could choose (3) from the main menu. The salad selection is very good & desert Overall not worth the money. The staff are fantastic and so polite, friendly and very helpful. Race course not the best limited view.

Great day out at Friday's evening event we where in a v.i.p box too the staff where lovely and the meal was delicious 😋 had a few wrong bets at start but won on last three races so all in all great entertainment ❤️

Excellent day out at the races, but not a winner all day. Beer/ drinks a bit pricey but it's what it is. Nice area for people taking their own food and drinks with a great view of the final furlong. Very well staffed and excellent toilet facilities.

Regardless of the weather being very poor. Didn't spoil a fantastic works do 👌 facilities are great , no more can be said. Good day

Our first visit to this course it was a family day event really enjoyed it The litter pickers did a great job and the toilets were kept clean

We attended a charity classic car event here. Camped on the Saturday night for the show on Sunday. Toilets and showers were clean and tidy and the event was great fun.

Went to the family fun day for the very first time. Kids had never been to the races before we all thoroughly enjoyed it with the entertainment that was on it was fab being able to go back and forth between areas, we all loved being able to see the horses quite close up watching them walk around the paddock area would deffo reccomend doing it at least once just for the experience Evan manage to leave with more money then I took so bonus! All the staff we encountered were fab and polite and easy to talk too if we had any questions they all seemed happy to actually be there which is an added bonus.

Only my 2nd time at the races, what a great day we had, plenty of food and drinks available, whether you win or lose, it doesn't matter, just great fun cheering on your horses.

Great day out me and the wife vintage cars and vintage motorbikes you can not beet old school smooth lines on some of the older ones great you got some American muscle in big Cadillacs nice to look at.

We came across this museum by chance and so glad we checked it out! The guide was very knowledgeable and gave us a good idea of what life was like there in those days. The displays are top-notch and there's plenty to see.

We visited the museum this week as we had seen lots of advertisements about ‘an exciting day out’ and the half term children’s activities. We were disappointed with the overall museum, feels like it needs some care and attention and the exhibits are poor. I’m presuming the staff member at the reception desk was new as she was unfamiliar with the ticket prices and didn’t give us information on any activities taking place. The website says there are gardens, benches for picnics and a coffee machine. We didn’t see any of these things, the grassy areas were overgrown and the walkways uncared for. The garden is around the back but not much more than a veg patch. We didn’t see any other staff to tell us info on the exhibits either. There certainly wasn’t ‘a range of activities for children’ as advertised online. We paid £46 for us and our children which felt very expensive. Luckily, we were given a refund after voicing our disappointment so we’re grateful for that. Overall it felt like a place that once was great and needs lots more care!

We had a fantastic couple of hours wandering around Ripon Workhouse Museum. There was so much to see and learn about. I absolutely loved it and will definitely return at some point.

Well worth seeking out if you’re in the area, sometimes not the easiest subject to view but always informative and thought provoking in how past generations lived, the staff are friendly and helpful.

Had a last minute trip to Ripon while on holiday and paid for the visit to the 3 museums. I'm not sure I would've paid separately for all of the museums due to only visiting once but everything we saw was interesting. More than anything the staff in each of the places were really knowledgeable and extremely polite. They knew how to interact with the children and gave them activities to keep them focused on learning the history. Would definitely visit again. Thank you.

Great welcome today. Think the lady was called Sheila sorry if I'm wrong. Have a good preamble about arriving at the workhouse and the difference between being a vagrant or a person requiring help. I made reference to the system being the same today if you did not live in the catchment area you were sent away. Great museum my second time but went into the building that houses makes and females separately. Great value for money, disabled friendly.

Lovely afternoon out, plenty of things to do for the kids.

Really interesting and a snapshot of times past, sadly some things still prevail. The welcome fantastic and the information given in the entrance superb. Only wish they offered a guided tour, would make the place buzz.

We visited with our 11 year olds in the easter holidays, there was enough to keep everyone engaged and we all learnt a lot. Our highlights were the dressing up room and the school room. There's a very relaxed vibe, all the volunteers were very friendly.

One of 3 museums in Ripon, all are worth visiting and a multi venue ticket is available and lasts a year. The ticket also reduces the costs.

Highly recommend a visit to this museum. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. The museum is well laid out and provides an interesting perspective of the history.

A fascinating place. A real insight into what life was like in them. If you have a smartphone then you can listen to the audio guides as well.

Its a place i had wanted to visit for a long time and it still managed to shock me, obviously the real thing, that can show how life used to be. The staff were very good and brought it to life, coming here brought a tear to my eye, my grandmother was in for a spell, at cadeby, when she was 10. They were put on the street when they couldn't pay rent as my great granfather was on strike at the pit. One of her brothers, couldnt settle and on growing up took to the freedom of the road, leading the tramp life, my mother would never talk about this embarrassing family secret.

Took my three kids here for the first time yesterday, all though we had lots of fun exploring the local area and seeing the druids temple they want much else to do. The restaurant was really nice and the views and walls were really good. However we did spend around 6-7 hours here walking through Forrest’s and fields so if you’re not capable of this or have a young child it wouldn’t be as good.

Car park is hard standing, there is an honesty box for people who wish to pay for the car park. The druid's plantation is about a 15 minute walk from the car park. Paths are easy to follow and accessible for all families although not suitable for those in a wheelchair. Plenty off paths to follow and ideal for cyclists. The temple is set in woodland with views of surrounding countryside. It is free to visit and you can spend a good couple of hours here exploring the area.

I had the pleasure of visiting Druid's Temple recently, and it was a truly enchanting experience. The mystical atmosphere of this historic site is captivating. The stone circle and surrounding woodlands create a sense of wonder and intrigue. It's a fantastic place to explore, whether you're interested in history, nature, or simply enjoying a peaceful walk. The craftsmanship of the temple is impressive, and it's easy to appreciate the effort that went into its creation. I highly recommend a visit to Druid's Temple for a unique and magical journey back in time. A hidden gem in the beautiful countryside!

A unique stone temple to visit in the middle of the woods. It had been raining a few days before our visit so was muddy in places. Not very big but still impressive. It was very quiet when we visited so had a Blair witch feel about it!

Wow what a place, if you haven’t been yet you have to go! We picked the best day as it was sunny, cold but sunny! The views are amazing. Parking is a honesty box in a little hut £3

Fantastic place to visit and pass on a few hours walking around it. Gets quite busy so getting photos without anyone in the background takes a little patience to get. But worth it. £3 to park in the car park you have to put your car/van reg on envelope with your £3 inside then post in a wooden box. So remember to take some change with you. If traveling with a fully loaded van it could be challenging to get there as there is some very narrow roads that's very steep..

Lovely, short walk. The weather was wet on this visit which meant some of the tracks were very muddy, which is great for hiking/dog walkers however would be unsuitable for wheelchair users. Parking at Swinton Bivouac which has a cafe, indoor/outdoor seating and toilet on site.

The Druid's Temple is a unique landmark near Ripon which is well worth a visit. There are woodland walks and bike tracks surrounding the temple, and a cafe by the car park for the temple which serves tasty food and drinks. Well worth a visit if you're in the area.

Great place to visit. I went when it had been raining so the very quite and the mist in the trees added a sense of atmosphere that felt calm and creepy at the same time. Nice walk around and would really enjoy going again. Took some Halloween pictures as thay had some Halloween decorations out and around the place.

Interesting folly I'm a lovely spot with some nice woodland walks. Good parking (£3 honour box) and then a relatively short walk to the site, though probably not ideal for wheelchairs.

It's a lovely walk-up to the temple. It may not have any historical background, but it's still fun to look at and have your imagination run wild. There are some bike paths along with the waking route. Personally, I found the route to be too short of a walk for me, and I would recommend walking around twice via different paths.

A quirky little place to visit and good fun. A nice peaceful area to walk with a nice view over the reservoir too, if you decide to go towards the folly. The Druid’s temple itself is quite something. Very mysterious with its rock layout, moss and greenery growing over the rocks and a cave like took partially hidden at the back of the Temple. Nice to be able to actually get up close and touch the stones and walk amongst them. There’s a little bit of a walk from the nearest car park as you have to use the parking area by the cafe. Parking fee is payable via the honesty box.

Lovely site nestling among the Swinton estate woods. It is very atmospheric but peaceful and in a picturesque setting. Free to enter and a short stroll from the car park. Car park has an honesty box for a couple of quid, and a cafe too. Appropriate footwear an advantage.

Lovely if you're in the area to have a look around. No facilities but medium sized car park and free entry. Can imagine would be exciting for children as an interesting and magical little folly for them to explore !

Great walks, lovely and quiet place with a bit of history. On weekends and bank holidays the car parks and walks get a bit busy, so it's worth getting there early

Parking nearby £3 cash only. About. 10min walk from car to temple. Easy path to follow. Very peaceful and quiet. The temple area is an unusual sight plenty of different rock formations. We had the added bonus of a friendly goat tagging along. Some lovely views out over the reservoirs as you pass down through the wooded areas.

A magical, beautiful, and memorable place. Free to visit! We could have spent all day here, imaginative play at its best. Cafe, toilets and parking near by. I can tell this would be very busy in the summer.

Found this place very interesting. What a lovely estate to walk around. 🚶‍♂️ had different routes to follow. The druids temple 🛕 is amazing. There is also great views of the reservoir from the edge of the forest. Small fee to pay for parking in the honesty box. Enjoy 😉

This museum is very interesting and welcoming, if quite small. I enjoyed the police motorbike, which I was encouraged to sit on and the cell where I could pull the door closed and ponder the experience. The staff member on the day I visited was very welcoming and friendly, encouraging me to interact with the exhibits and offering to take my photo. Great fun.

While visiting Ripon over 3 days Visit the museum... there's 3 in all... Ripon discount visiting all Three.. all equally as good...at a very good saving...(workhouse, prison & police,& the Courthouse) Take a step back in time ... provoke your thoughts of the past.... We have Police in our family, so really enjoyed looking at the history of it all. Prison life must have been awful in the 18th century. It was a very interesting wander, looking in the cells, reading about Prison life,etc.

Great place to go round and wheel chair friendly . Very olde building and wound'nt of had a easy time in there .

I think the entry price is a little high around £15 for 1 adult one child (6) when compared to other larger jails and emergency services musuems such as bodmin jail/ The clink/emergency service musuem (that are attractions, and not much higher in price) the place is run my volunteers and unfortunately the volunteer didn't show up to open so another volunteer and to run around to open up. We ended up waiting over an hour. We had travelled far just for this museum as my daughter has a jail obsession. We were inside for around 20 minutes. Spending most of the time at the interactive stations, which you can tell a volunteer has worked hard on producing. There was one room that didn't fit with the museum, and people had written mean/inappropriate comments. It had nothing to do with police or jails. I think the museum has potential, and with the money they get from high entry fees they could invest in making the museum better. Gift shop, toilets on site. Pay to park carpark opposite.

Guy on reception today was poor with customer service. Made my partner feel very upset as I had to explain the concession card was for a disabled visitor and guest and I showed Pip proof of letter. Thank you sir for making the final museum experience poor. No history given. This is my second visit. I returned as I wished to share the museum with my partner and paid for the three in one pass. The police museum was a great let down I'm sorry to say.

Great little museum, especially if interested in law and order. Great location with big car park and cheap car park across the road. Best value if go for an all 3 Ripon museums ticket. The gent on ticket duty was both friendly and helpful and looked the part.

We visited here as part of the group ticket for Ripon's 3 museums. Although the museum isn't huge, if you take the time to read all the information, you could spend a good couple of hours there. We learnt a lot and it was interesting to build upon what we'd learned at the Courthouse Museum. My daughter particularly enjoyed it and spent time completing the activity sheet provided. There were quite a few tactile exhibits that allowed the kids to get hands on and experience what it would have been like there. An interesting education for all ages.

I used to come here with my mum and a friend of the family. I always wanted to come back when I could drive myself. So as it's near enough halfway between Newcastle and Barnsley, I visited on my way home from Newcastle after watching the match and staying the night. It was every bit as good as I remember. The staff on the front desk were helpful and pleasant to speak to. The exhibition itself was informative and interesting. I thoroughly recommend everyone to go there. And learn why prison guards got the nickname screws. Also go see the first set of handcuffs and the first finger printing systems, and so much more. Have a picture of yourself in a jail cell. You won't regret it. Especially you crime buffs like myself out there.

Cannot recommend this highly enough! A really friendly centre but also very professional. We saw two shows which gives you time for your picnic in the middle. The experts are very entertaining but the birds are definitely the stars! Wonderful!

Great place to come and visit to see a wide variety of Birds of Prey. They put on a great show and have the opportunity to hold two for £10 pp depending on availability! Show had 10 birds in it and this was only the start of their Season. Staff very friendly and informative, happy to help and answer questions. Allow you to take pics and get close up during the show!

We paid 90 pound per person and it was worth every penny, even if just in the name of conservation. The birds are as impressive as you picture and you get to see and "fly" the big ones! Staff is friendly and definitely professional. Would highly recommend!

Lovely place. Small, but lots of birds. Make sure you watch the displays. Friendly knowledgeable staff. No separate café, but good range of food and drink in the shop, including tea, coffee, sandwiches and ice creams.

Fantastic family run venue doing great preservation work and thoroughly entertaining displays. Don't miss the new African Adventure in the afternoon. Especially good value for money if you stay for both daily flying displays.

What a fantastic little gem of a place to admire the birds. I was given a half day experience for my birthday and what a special treat it was. The handlers are knowledgeable, they keep you engaged and it is was a great day out! Thoroughly enjoyed 🤩

Had a fabulous day at the centre. So many beautiful birds to see and the flying displays were wonderful. Eagles swooping just over our heads and magnificent storks soaring above us. The birds had such character and put on a great performance. The staff were friendly and informative and entertaining. On a practical level, the gift shop is well stocked with lovely souvenirs, a variety of sandwiches and pastries, hot and cold drinks, sweets and crisps and there's loads of picnic tables to sit at.

A fabulous day out as part of my 2020 Xmas present that I was finally able to use. Well worth the wait. A special all day eagle handling and flying experience, the staff are excellent, knowledgeable and good fun to be with. Sharing the arena with over 15 different types of eagles is an absolute privilege. I would wholly recommend this experience, as it's one you won't forget.

We had a fabulous day at the Birds of Prey centre. Saw 2 flying displays, compere was excellent. All the birds were lovely and in great condition. Great to see the storks flying. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and chatted to all.

Loads of different birds of prey to see. The display was excellent and you could tell that both the handlers and the birds enjoyed performing. They also provide experiences so you can get even closer to the birds - presume you would need to pre-book. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

Great place with excellent bird shows throughout the day and one that had about 20 birds in all. The shows are dependent on wind and other weather, but they will bring birds out to show that they just may not have them flying if its no good. It was a little smaller than I expected as it was our first time visiting, but it was enough for my 15m old. Didn't realise there wouldn't be a little cafe, but there are snacks and sandwiches available in the ticket/souvenir office.

We visited for the afternoon on return from holiday. The centre is excellent. Lots of birds to see many sat out on there perches. The other birds appeared to have large clean aviary. We watched 2 shows both very enjoyable and informative. The birds appear to get out and fly lots and have plenty of enrichment. We saw 26 birds over the 2 shows plus more birds were out with guests on experience days.

A wonderful day out. Our grandson asked to stay for all 3 displays. He also attended the Minis display, where he was able to experience the handling of 2 birds. Staff were very friendly and informative. We will definitely make a return visit.

Amazing Bird of prey centre, great selection of birds you can see are all cared for very well. We stayed for two displays and both had different birds flying. Kerry and Dave were both very knowledgeable and presented the displays with good humour. I’ll definitely be back to try one of the experience days to get hands on with some of the birds.

A wonderful place to visit. I was lucky enough to be gifted a half day birds of prey experience and it was superb. I got to handle 10 species of birds, and some much bigger than I imagined. A helpful hand was ready to support my arm, meaning that I could handle the Bald Eagle although I'm not the strongest! Such beautiful and happy birds, and it was such a privilege to be close to them. We were given a very warm welcome by the friendly team - visitors and birds alike all treated as part of the family! The displays were wonderful too, and it's such a lovely setting. Many thanks.

Personally I can't rate this Hall no one from Markenfield wants to speak with you when you attempt to speak with them or make enquiries about visiting It may well be a nice place to visit but how can you arrange to visit when those who manage/run the site don't communicate with would be visitors. My wife and I have tried communicating with Markenfield with no luck. I would describe this as dire, I would suggest folk 'walk on by" they don't deserve public support there are other engaging places to visit in North Yorkshire and beyond.

a truly unique hidden gem with a remarkable past; the current house originates from the 1300s and the Great Hall and Chapel remain largely unaltered since that time. Allegedly the oldest continuously inhabited house in England, Markenfield Hall remains a private residence to this day, only being opened up to the public for a few afternoons every year.

Beautiful historic property. Fabulous guides with so much knowledge. Loo in a "dungeon!"

The term "hidden gem" is, in my opinion, overused. However, this place is truly that! I brought some friends visiting from the states and told them to watch for the surprise, and when they saw the moat, they loved it! The volunteers were very enthusiastic and informative, and even Lady Deirdre, who lives here, greets people and hands out informative leaflets. We found the house charming and the grounds and moat gorgeous. Only open 30 days out of the year- through the 19th May and 16-30th June (from 2-5pm) ,so go there NOW!! Entry only £6.

A wonderful little gem, hidden in Yorkshire. Built in 1230 & changed little since, thankfully. Additional new Tudor Gate House!! The moat is magnificent, it's all just fabulous.

Absolutely gorgeous hall just hidden from the main Harrogate-Ripon road. Well worth a visit if you catch the limited open window.

Book a Tiny Tour, with Tea and biscuits. Guide was outstanding orator telling the story from 13th to currently times.

Quite small but attractive, historic and has a cafe! There are several amenities for children. The play park is the other side of the park. There is a Green Man trail and a historic park trail too.

Lovely place for a walk round, have a picnic if cafe closed!

Lovely gardens; excellent bowling green and crazy golf. The Sun Parlour Café is great, friendly staff, very good service! The coffee is freshly prepared and is delicious. Yorkshire Tea is used as well and it is great quality. You can have a light meal and there is a good range of cakes, biscuits and soft drinks. You can eat in and eat out. Don't forget to look at the excellent range of books on offer! Flower beds are beautiful and the car tree carvings are marvelous. There is a band stand in the centre of the park and lots of lovely trees to see. You can easily spend half a day here and there are frequent events taking place at various times of the year. The park is wheel chair friendly and there are toilets. Parking is limited however Ripon is well served by reasonably priced car parks within a few hundred metres of the Spa Gardens.

A really nice space that’s well kept with lovely flowers and plenty more to admire, with the wood carvings and statues. Lots of places to sit and a delight!

The Council and the volunteers so an amazing job of looking after this beautiful Park. It really does have everything for everyone; excellent plants, flowers and gardens, lovely crazy golf, a nice cafe, clean toilets, bandstand, bowling green and plenty of open space to chill out or play on. Would highly recommend.

It’s a lovely little park for the locals as you can see students and family with kids around. The gardens have some iconic statues and Alice in Wonderland wood carvings on display. Located just next to the swimming pool but parking is a little far and it’s a short walk to the town center.

Lovely small park area for picnic lunch or something from the cafe. Nice Lewis Carroll tribute in the form of a tree carving. Short walk from town square.

Pocket sized park covering both sides of the road, bowling green cafe, lots of benches on one side of road on the other is a small maze and a decent sized playback.

Beautiful grounds to walk around as a couple or take the family. Lots of areas to sit, eat and enjoy. The Abbey is full of history with so many photo options that you are spoilt for choice. Would recommend highly and well worth the drive, no matter where your coming from.

This canal is ok but since it’s the end of the line - perhaps a little more should be invested in celebrating the amazing contribution to the Great British culture of Canal Boating…?

A run place for a walk. Neat locks that you can check out. We got to watch a canal boat passing through.

Lovely walk from the centre of Ripon past the Race course winding along the canal through three locks before reaching the start of the river. If you’re lucky may see a Heron or even an Otter!

Love being on the canals. Ripon is a very special place.

Lovely place for a walk, so very peaceful. We usually park at the car park through the gates of Ripon race course and follow the sign to the wetlands, then walk from there to this area...

Like a river but more straighterer. If you want a canal in Ripon this is the only one to go to. More watery than other canals I’ve visited so wear your speedo’s.

If you're in the area I recommend visiting all the museums and buying a pass to visit all three. Lots of local history and it's fascinating reading about local history and gives a little insight to history and how things have changed and what it used to be like.

Nice small two room exhibition with a well -preserved Georgian courtroom. Standing in the Dock you get a sense of how exposed people must have felt.

Had an enjoyable day here on the 7th August,very interseting and educational

Unfortunately we visited this last out of the three museums linked (including the workhouse and prison), as it was less interesting. The workhouse was super. We also had no support to quieten and perhaps remove a feral family. A father with three feral children who was not able to contain them nor keep them to any reasonable standard of acceptable behaviour. They made all but one other visitor leave by their appalling ways and the man in charge did nothing to remove them. Therefore spoiling not just our visit but I'm sure all the others who swiftly vacated the courthouse.

Modern day robbery nearly £10 for two adults to see two rooms. We were in there for less than 10 minutes.

Great to visit part of the Ripon Museum's trust so you can pay once and visit other museums lots of great info and they do regular tours and get involved days.

I enjoyed this museum and found the displays very interesting.

Had its day. The town has too many closed shops. No cash withdrawal machines. It's very poor. Probably last time will visit. Live in Thirsk, very up and coming.

This theme park has radically changed since its roots. It is now more of a kids theme park with simple child friendly rides. We knew this before visiting and came especially for our little one. There are many rides however queues were taking a long time. Some rides had 3 carts (to take 3 families) but only 1 cart was moving at a time making the queue time 3x as long. Other than that a good day out

Great theme park to visit if you have small kids, perfect selection of attractions for ages maybe 8 years upwards. We arrived by car fairly easily via the motorway, I did notice there are separate car parks for busses coaches & disabled customers. Around the park, every ride has a measurement chart & every ride attendant double checked this before they let you on. There wasn't any rides or attractions for my youngest child but my middle child went on pretty much every ride. Staff were all friendly & helpful, really polite & would happily let you stay on the ride for another go if there was no queue. The prices of food & drink were as you would expect, ridiculously expensive, but you could take your own food & drink to make it cheaper. I chose to eat & drink at the park, it cost me £26 for 3 sandwiches & a novelty slushy. Lovely clean & tidy park with lots of nice things to see, pretty much every ride was working & in use, apart from maybe one & the under 5's soft play area was also out of order. Lots of toilets around & food stalls to buy drinks & snacks. There was only one or two downsides really, those being that quite a few attractions & games within the park cost money to play, the shooting range or the golf course, it's a bit unfair if I've already paid full price to access the park. The arcades I can understand or even hook a duck as there's a prize in the end. Secondly the park seems a bit forgotten in areas, such as the soft play or opposite the soft play is a huge area which looks to be closed down & have been for a while, a bit like time forgot but you can kinda still make out the attraction that was there years ago - just a bit sad really. Huge indoor areas, buildings with nothing going on in them, hopefully these are not a sign of things to come. All in all a great day here.

What a fabulous day out! We visited with our 8yo, 4yo and parents and everyone had such a great day. Plenty of rides for the little ones and the grandparents particularly enjoyed a (very) competitive round of mini golf. Play areas are fab, particularly the first one as you enter the park. I would definitely recommend buying the meal deal tickets, such a bargain! The pizza and doughnuts are delicious 🤤 Staff are so friendly and helpful, they were all great with our two kids. A real credit to the park - particularly the two guys in the ice cream/fudge shop beside the Hall of Mirrors and the guy operating the small pirate ship (who I kept getting in the back ground of our family photos 😂) A perfect day out for families. We can't wait to visit again soon!

I loved Lightwater Valley when I was younger. Took my 8year old and 9year old. Both had a fun day and really enjoyed it. Unfortunately it was not the same for me but I understand they are marketing for 12’s and under. The place is a little run down and I’m not sure if it’s got to do with investors. Would like to see more rides and newer rides. Take a panic, the food is a little over priced specially paying £20 pp for over 90cm, but you expect that at any adventure parks. Anyway the family had a fun day out and enjoyed it! You need to keep this open for the Northeast, we lost wet n wild and metroland. There is hardly anything left up north. Bring it back to what is was..

A good day out for the price if you have young kids. Most of the good rides are gone, other than Eagles Claw and the pirate ship. The whole place has a more family-friendly focus, with a poor attempt at a nature trail. Kids 10 and below will really enjoy it. Went with a group of 12 year old girls, who still really enjoyed it, although they just kept going on the same rides time and time again. Wasn't too busy on Easter Monday, with only minimal queuing for the rides.

Excellent theme park to visit for younger children probably up to 12, not many big rides. Perfect for toddlers to teens. Prices are great. Fast past wristbands available but tbh not needed as queues weren't long. Tree top trail was excellent and included in price. Lots of places for picnics and places to buy food too. Parks dotted around for kids to play on, angry birds park is awesome my kids loved it!

Lightwater valley has gone downhill since I was a child. Brought my kids to have the enjoyment I once had as a kid. All the rides there are either junior or family rides. Gone has the ultimate and the rat/raptor (roller coaster in the dark) and in there place is the empty shell of what was once there. If there was a retirement home for fairgrounds then lightwater valley is your place.

First time visiting here in a few decades. Went with my niece (7) and nephew (9). It's changed a lot since I last went with thrill rides replaced with many sedate rides aimed squarely at kids. Although I think older kids (teens and above) might find few rides to thrill them.

This theme park has radically changed since its roots. It is now more of a kids theme park with simple child friendly rides. We knew this before visiting and came especially for our little one. There are many rides however queues were taking a long time. Some rides had 3 carts (to take 3 families) but only 1 cart was moving at a time making the queue time 3x as long. Other than that a good day out

Great theme park for young children. My 3 year old loved the rides. Was quite quiet midweek, didn't have to wait for any rides, food was very good and reasonably priced. Wonderful day out

Visited today for the first time with our 2 young children aged 2 and 4. They had a fantastic time. There was plenty to see and to do for our little ones. All areas were clean and staff appeared friendly and happy to assist. We had fish and chips from “big fish”. The food was pricey as expected with the portion size being quite small. Overall a really nice day out.

I am genuinely shocked by the amount of poor reviews, I can only assume that the people leaving them didn't read the website. The park is quite clear about what they offer and who their demographic is. I guarantee you the people moaning are the same ones who are queueing to get onto the kids rides themselves. Yeah there's bigger rides elsewhere but you'd also pay 4 or 5 times the price. I have two young kids and they absolutely love it here. It's clean and feels safe. There's regularly offers on, and it's very very fairly priced for what it is. We could spend £70 on one pub meal, so it's absolutely worth it for a whole days entertainment. We seldom have to queue for rides, so the kids are able to do everything they want. The park is small enough to easily be able to walk away and come back to it later of needed. I will say though, that when queues have happened, they do move quite slowly, although I do, in part, blame inconsiderate adults queueing for kids rides. The chippy portions are good, pricing is as you'd expect for any place with a captive audience. Ice lolly pricing is a bit painful, but they have to make some money somewhere. There's a lot of land around, and so I really hope they keep growing into it with the same theme, and I will always recommend it to those with young children. I'll be really sad when mine are too old to enjoy it fully as it's a great day out.

Went on a teacher training day 30/11 as their local school holidays don't match ours. Their Halloween things were fantastic (having recently been to Alton Towers's Scarefest, the Frightwater Valley version was sooooo much better). I remember going as a kid (25ish years ago), but I don't remember it being aimed so much at little ones as it is. I thought it was mid way between Gulliver's and 'Towers, but it's very much on par with Gulliver's for ride ages. Saying that myself, my 9yo and 11yo had a great day all dressed up and we're there from open until closing.

Really good place to take the little ones, no big rides here apart from the claw and a small but fun roller coaster. All the rides and amusements are aimed at the smaller child, we took an 11 year old and 2 year old. 11 year old enjoyed it but did get a bit bored in places where the younger one loved it. It's like altona towers for youngsters. The food as you would expect is astronomical in price although there is plenty of benches for those who bring their own food. We did so can't comment on the food other than price. The wait for rides was small but we did go on a Friday but at the same time it is half term. The parking is good and plenty although didn't see any electric charge points. The staff very friendly and helpful. This is a nice little park that offers a lot, fills a day and isn't too far from the coast if your away for a weekend. It is set in a large area and sometimes a bit of a walk between areas, my only let down was the hall of mirrors, wasn't what I was expecting. Was like a fitting room in a clothes shop, except these mirrors allowed you to pick and choose your own weight and height to suit yourself, if you get it you get it. Go enjoy and tell your friends. Fun times, we all could do with some of them.

What a great place! This is virtually on our doorstep and this was our first visit. There were no queues on rides and they were all mostly age appropriate for our 2 girls(5 and 9) who had a great time! The staff were friendly. We took our own food and drinks to keep costs down but there were plenty of places for snacks again with no queuing. I would visit the website beforehand to see if they are offering discounts, we got 50% off the price of a a “pay on the day” entry price. Which we were pleased with as it was school holiday. The only criticism would be that it is looking a bit run down and overgrown in places but not enough to spoil the fun! Would definitely recommend a visit.

Brilliant!! Outdoor playground, soft play, loads of rides, dinosaurs and a train ride. It’s Exactly what you need for a young family. For a family of 4 I thought it was good value. Our two had an amazing day, looking forward to going back.

Visited yesterday with my granddaughter. We had a really nice day with walks and rides,a bit of shopping and food out. The rides were fantastic, we really had a great time. The flowers starting to grow and Bloom, lovely to see and it very good maintained. The staff is overall polite and helpful. The only downer was the staff in the Big Fish. I was not very impressed of the older staff members. They were rude, loud and sniggered and made fun of people,yes people noticed. And bossed the younger staff members around and made them do all there work. There was a lovely girl with long darkish blond hair, her name is Lexi. She tried so hard to please everyone and get all her work done but the older staff members made it very hard for her. Bless her, she deserves a gold star for dealing with it so professionally. I wish there adults to supervise more. We did enjoy the food and definitely return another day. Thank you for a lovely day.

Wonderful peaceful place

Visited here (Pre-pandemic). For anyone that feels energy? Well there’s a most wonderful energy in this church (the Magdalene energy). Wonderful to just sit in the peace/silence. Lady who looked after the keys was very accommodating. Must visit again
