A lovely reserve with lots of hides. Great for practicing bird photography skills as well as seeing so many species. Really sad that the visitor centre is being sold-off. I wish Hampshire Wildlife Trust would take it on. A note of caution, at high water springs the western section can only be accessed through about 6-9" of standing water on the path, so wellies essential.

Even with two hides closed we had a very pleasant walk around the haven well recommended and not too far a walk. Easy parking on the seafront.

Beautiful place to walk, feed yhe ducks and swans (and cute rats!). Walk along by the beach huts and smell the salty air. I didn't go into the reserve (I had my dog), but it's a peaceful place to wander nearby.

Nice and peaceful with many hides in to view the birds along with a nice gravel walk to spot other wildlife. Cafe was good too serving breakfasts, lunches and drinks. Car parking nearby.

We absolutely love this place and walk here frequently. Until December this would deffo have got a 5 star rating, but the council has only gone and closed the excellent cafe. There is still a very good visitor centre, but no longer can you finish off your day out with a nice cup of tea and slice of delicious cake.

I love coming here as it is so relaxing watching the variety of wildlife. I did use to come more often but since Hampshire County Council decided to sell off the buildings the cafe had to close. It was a handy place to go and warm up in the winter with a cup of tea or coffee and the food was delicious and responsible price too. The cafe was always busy, shame it had to close! Would have given 5*

This reserve is amazing. Even for one like me who is not an expert birdwatcher there is much to admire in the birdlife around the lakes. 189 different species were apparently spotted on this site in 2022. With some help I identified 17 species, so I have some way to go. The nature reserve is split in to separate sections each with a well maintained footpath and several hides. There is an entry fee with a discount available for Senior Citizens.

The haven and centre are amazing and so beautiful right on the coast with some parking but limited on busy days. The cafe was great but sadly now closed as council wants to sell it ! The community are trying to raise money to buy it so please help if you can.

Heaven for bird watchers, saw at least 8 different species in less than an hour.

Excellent place for novice bird watching as there are volunteers and other expert visitors happy to point out the hard to spot birds. Loads of butterflies and other wildlife too. Very accessible.

Beautiful place for bird watching by the seafront. I even saw a Kingfisher for the first time which was a real treat! The cafe has a great menu to feed the stomach, whilst the gorgeous nature and wildlife feeds the soul.

We walked from Titchfield recreation ground to the Abbey. It wasn't very busy a couple of families enjoying picnics and several other people just looking around it. There is free parking. Really nice place to visit for all ages and we will be taking the children next time.

While the signage expertly covers the overall history of Titchfield Abbey, I couldn't help but yearn for more explicit details regarding Thomas Wriothesley's acquisition of the abbey and his influential connections to Henry VIII. A deeper dive into the transition period when England was on the cusp of becoming a Protestant nation would enhance the visitor's understanding of the site's significance. Nonetheless, the visit was thoroughly enjoyable. Would highly recommend to anyone seeking a fascinating journey through time.

An almost hidden gem. Easy to miss, you access a narrow gateway opposite the Fisherman's Rest pub. Just a few parking spaces, this location is ideal for kids and dogs. Small but perfectly formed ruined Abbey that was converted to a private dwelling before being abandoned. Entry to the site is free with paid parking for visitors except English Heritage members who park free.

A warm spring day. No crowd... barely anyone - I counted 3 others, that included an individual working there! Even for a relative philistine - with the attendant lack of knowledge - this was an interesting 'ruin'. The lives the property had been part of were almost palpable, whilst the tiles were remarkable. No café No toilets No shop No charge (tho a £2 car parking fee is advised) Wheelchairs could certainly be used on the flat(ish) grass and path There is a pub directly opposite the entrance

Boyfriend chose this place to visit just yesterday. It wasn't raining really hard but just drizzles. Anyways, still we enjoyed the place. He loves historical places so we went to Titchfield Abbey. Ride the bus X4/X5 from Central Station, used Google maps to see where we are and where we're stopping. Bought return tickets as well. It was a not so long walk from the bus stop. Great people!

On our Road Trip through England, Wales and Scotland we focused on Castles, Abbeys and walks. The Titchfield Abbey we've visited on our first full day here in England. It was a hot summer day. A monday. And only really a handful people on site. Which is surprising, because these are beautiful remains of a former abbey and mansion. It's almost still fully complete even. There's no entrance fee. And even parking is free if you're a member of the EH. If not it's 2 pounds only. The building is very impressive. Built in the 13th Century it was first in the hand of monks. Then it changed hands under Henry VIII. And was turned into a Tudor mansion. It's quite a sight to behold. And you can walk around the whole site. But as usual: Be respectful, don't climb around and pick up your litter and after your dog (which are allowed here on the site). A very good start for this year's Road Trip. A great place to visit. And there are even one or two lunch options around, if you feel hungry after your visit.

This is indeed a very beautiful place. There are many details to appreciate. When I first heard about Titchfield Abey, I thought that there would be less of it than there was. I was pleased to see that a substantial amount of the Abbey remained. It is a populat spot for people who are walking their dogs and I recommend it is a lovely place to visit. There is a place in which one enters a doorway and has to ascend a steep flight of stairs, which is an interesting aspect to Titchfield Abbey.

An extraordinary place! Great for families, excellent for walks, picnics, exploring etc. On site parking costs £2 (for non-English Heritage members) Wonderful for fans of historical architecture. The mosiac floor tiles and ornate fireplaces, a particular highlight.

Impressive free to visit ruin. Although note it costs £2 to park for non-English Heritage stickered cars. Originally a monastery, that was then taken over & converted into a manor house. While the structure is roofless & without floors, parts still stand to original 3rd storey roof height. While other original ancillary building walls locations are picked out by gravel cuttings or only have partial height walls remaining

Striking ruins of a Premonstratensian abbey that was converted into a mansion in the Tudor period. Parking is £2 (free for English Heritage members) and there's no additional charge for visiting. There are information boards around the site explaining more about the building and its history. The preserved patterned floor tiles are some of the best I've seen. Not a huge site so no other facilities, but Portsmouth isn't far away. They abbey is dog friendly and open between 10:00 and 17:00 been April and September, and closes at 16:00 between October and March. On site parking is accessed by the track from Mill Lane. Take care when entering or leaving at the entrance gate is narrow. If you enjoyed this, Netley Abbey nearby is also worth a visit, and Cowdray Ruins at Midhurst look very similar though weren't accessible up close.

Lovely old ruin. 2 pound to park which you pay by text. The weather was bogging which added to the effect of the Abbey! Great place for a little wander and picnic.

Lovely old Manor, Lovingly restored as a small local museum and busy cafe. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Lovely choice of cakes including vegan and gluten free options. Well worth a visit.

Very pleasant and nicely laid out bit of local history. Fairly small so good if you are short of time. Didn't try the cafe, but it looks lovely!

Small museum, but packed with stuff for the kids! Could have easily walked around in half an hour, but took quite a while longer due to the hands on activities! Great coffee in the museum cafe, and at a very fair price too! Will visit again.

A modest museum with a fabulous cafe attached. Sit indoors with cabinets of weirdly preserved animalcules, or outdoors in the winter sun trap.

My wife and I visited on the 1st May BH. The place was very interesting and the cafe / tearoom had lots little things look at. We arrived mid-afternoon it was quite quiet / peaceful, so we had some refreshments and we could take our time looking at each exhibit. It also has a lot of written information on the local area / history in its library room. Outside we wanderered around the lovely laid out garden with many flowers in bloom.

Public car park round the corner. It's small but has a very interesting story and exhibits.. NO Lift so disabled people don't get to see much. Lovely cafe and a small shop.

This was a little gem. Lots of different paths to explore. Didn't realised the rocks around the lake were man made until I read the information board. Looking forward to returning in the spring and again in the autumn to enjoy the autumnal colours. Lots of different fungi, some I had not seen before, on tree stumps and fallen trees.

A nice park where you can have a picnic or just a wander around. You can get lost quite easily as there is only a few sign posts dotted round. There are picnic tables close to the lake where you can have your meal. The lake itself looks tired and really needs a bit of a cleanup. There are certain parts of the park that look stunning. The park has a big car park with free parking.

This is a beautiful place to visit, with gorgeous trees and many pathways to explore. You can walk down to Hamble river, but wellies needed in the winter or wet weather. Great for taking your dog and/or kids. You can spend all day there . No good for wheelchairs or push chairs, very steep in places and 7neven ground. Not enough seats dotted around though for us oldies to rest...

We love coming here, or young kids do too, even better that there's free parking!!! Lots if different paths you can take to make the walk short or long. It's beautiful in summer and in winter, although you'll need your wellies in winter. There are toilets by the car park and even though there's no hot beverages being served, if you cross the road and head to the swimming pool there is a coffee and tea trailer between the swimming pool and outdoor play area (Brilliant play area too) Only negative thing i can think of, is despite it being a place where dogs are meant to be kept on lead, most people let them off. The signage isn't brilliant though to make people aware of this, as it's not at the entrance but as you walk round and only on tiny signs.

What a Beautiful place this is. We went for the family play day organized by fareham council. The event itself was spot on. The activities were well organized and kept the kids busy den building and arts and craft. The park itself is tidy, peaceful and I happened to bump into a lovely lady who worked there ( she was there talking to the mayor randomly) and we asked her about one of the trees that she said is around 500 years old. There's some little stepping stones and a mini waterfall for the kids to play in. The car park has a height restriction but luckily for me this had been opened on that day and I managed to park my van. (There is usually parking next door in the leisure centre and theres also a nice park). We really enjoyed our visit and will be back to see the other areas of the park that we didn't get time to see today.

Really went to browse holiday clothes but found a lovely shop , Made in Italy , which had a lovely range of clothes so we were tempted to try some and found the quality and fit excellent. Would recommend this friendly shop for something a little different. Good selection of other mainstream retailers too

Very difficult to park if you have a large wheelchair accessible van, I drove around for over 30 minutes before finding an entrance to a nearby carpark, which then charged over £3 for just over an hours parking! The centre itself was nothing special, the toilets were absolutely horrendous, dirty, smelly, and not fit for purpose. I only went in a couple of shops but that was more than enough, the staff were friendly enough, but nothing was very wheelchair accessible, lots of obstacles, and obstructions, in the end I just gave up, I wouldn't recommend this shopping centre unless you are able bodied, and have a poor sense of smell.

Fareham shopping centre is quite a pleasant place to shop. It is spacious, clean including the toilets and plenty of benches dotted around. But as is now common in most retail malls, I am guessing about a third of the units are empty. It is a shame but that is the times that we now live. But a short walk takes you down to the Riverside where it is quite lovely to stroll and relax.

The shops that are there are brilliant but there is just a lack of shopping choices for a shopping centre. Clean and well maintained there just needs to be more options and clearer directions.

Busy but not hectic at lunch time. Good range of shops. Lovely helpful lady at the library.

The place looks a little less vibrant than I remember a few years ago. The main players are still there (Boots etc.) but there are quite a few empty shops now. The multi-story parking is a reasonable price with good access and you can get through to the high street if you can't find what you're looking for in the centre.

I have always been a big fan of Shopping Malls and Centres, for obvious reasons. Fareham is certainly no exception with a wide selection of top shops all in one place underneath the same roof. Makes things very warm and cosy. Like a glowing winter's fireplace perhaps. Most of the service from the staff is very helpful and friendly and the public in the Mall are also friendly and well catered for.

A fairly usual shopping centre full of the usual shops and brands you get everywhere , nothing surprising or that interesting. Very confusing addresses where the mall has street names inside and some shops use them and some use unit numbers for the mall . The place seemed to be full of lost people asking where places are . I was stopped twice for directions whilst in there , one looking for Waterstones , and one searching for Amazon lockers .

Haven't been to Fareham for almost 40 years so was very surprised to see what's happened here in that time, and the Shopping Centre falls into that category. Airy, clean and really pleasant, a nice change from some of the grotty holes we've been to over the years. Being a bank holiday a lot of the shops were closed but it still presented as a nice place to go. Lucky Farehamites!!

A run-down dump! I remember it when it first opened - vibrant and interesting. As soon as pay to park was installed, it commenced to go downhill as has the rest of the town centre. Avoid!

Used to love Fareham shopping centre, but it's now a ghost town. Hoping that the newly purchased centre breaths new life into the centre with the right choices of shops. We loved the free table tennis but the day we visited it was more of a meeting centre for bored youths.

Mall In Fareham , very clean and tidy , fair amount of shops in it. Also some units that need new owners. Plenty of room to walk about without feeling over crowded. Stairs from carpark very clean and not smelly like other carparks in other towns.

Dead. I've seen Dodos with more life. Another town with no t much retail activity outside the usual bargain basement trash shops, charity and endless coffee and fast food places. Fareham used to be so lively and busy at weekends. Now its just a glorified car park.

Absolutely dreadful shopping centre now. Yes it’s clean and tidy, but there are so many empty shops. To me it feels like a motorway service station and has about as much soul. Have lived in Fareham all my life on and off

Easy access and located in the heart of Fareham Town...

Such a shame this place is a shadow of its former self. There is no reason to come here any more, there's no shops worth talking about. It was one of the first of its sort in the region when it first opened and was a great placeto visit. The water feature was a great meeting spot, getting rid of it was a dreadful mistake. It's so sad to see so many of the units boarded up, Something needs to be done here to stop its interminable decline.

Saw 'The Adams Family' on Friday 13th in the Arden theatre - OMG how professional! After Gomez's first song my wife and I looked at each other open mouthed. We couldn't believe we weren't in the Mayflower, the Kings or a London theatre! All the performers were so good as were the costumes and the fabulous orchestra. As for the Arden - a work in progress but already looking so sumptuous and gonna be amazing when finished. The staff were really friendly and welcoming and how refreshing that you don't get ripped off with high prices for drinks or ice creams. Parking was good too. Altogether a fabulous night out and can't wait for the next big production. Well done everyone, keep up the good work and a big thank you to all involved.

As visitors to the area it was a happy accident that we were told about this delight. We saw their production of Calamity Jane and it was SUPERB. Probably the best amateur production I’ve ever seen. Will certainly visit this excellent place again.

Went to a show in the winter. Couldn't get parked anywhere. The staff said there is parking at the local hotel only half a mile away. Great idea, park in a hotel half a mile away. Then get the wheelchair out and transit down a busy dark road (no street lighting) with no pavements. It's a accident waiting to happen. I didn't bother in the end and went home. Didn't fancy being a hood ornament just to see a show.

Update Just seen 'A Stranger In Our House'. Excellent production and was very impressed. Great little venue. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We watched A Christmas Carol and it was excellent, highly recommended it.

Went to see Calendar Girls last night . I have seen many versions but this has got to be my favourite, acting was excellent . Absolutely loved it would highly recommend. Love the theatre my 1st visit. 🩷

The show was really great but it was impossible to fit in the seats. My boyfriend and I are both 6ft plus and i couldn't fit my legs in at all. Extremely uncomfortable, very hot and altogether ruined the whole experience. I wouldn't go back due to this. Never experienced anything like it.

The theatre is lovely, the show was great. The seating is horrific if you are more than a size 10 or 5ft.

A Stranger in the house, what can i say. Brilliant, professional.each and everyone of the cast were excellent. A lot of lines to remember for each person. Very thought provoking. We all remember those parties indoors and the one person who always kicks off! Great storyline. Thank you for a great evening everyone.

Have been going here regularly for a couple of years. Never been disappointed, and with a good variety of shows. However, tonight's performance of This is Living (25.4.23) was outstanding. I can honestly say the 2 actors were better than a lot of professionals. How they both managed to learn all the lines I don't know. Very moving. Made me laugh and cry. Just amazing 👏

Educating Rita What a fabulous evening loved the Theatre and the Show was brilliant. Judging by the claps, cheers and whistles at the end, everyone else felt the same. The actors were excellent a truly delightful play.

One man two governors. Thoroughly enjoyed this energetic, fast passed comedy. Great casting. A laugh from start to finish! It was our first visit to the Arden theatre and we found it very comfortable with good views of the stage to make the most of every moment.

Great theather, parking was easy. The parking guys worked hard to get everyone in and out on the evening. You can see the stage clearly no matter where you sit. If disabled let the theather no in the box when booking tickets then the place know how many plces they need and save space for you. Tues-Friday all seats £12. We saw Calamity Jane and it was excellent, you could pay £30-40 at our large theather this production was worthy off a big stage, great acting, singing and laughter even a stage coach. So please we found this theater.

We visited the Arden Theatre within Titchfield Festival Theatre last night to watch Nativity. I woke up this morning to write this review and I still cannot believe I wasn't in the West End last night. I have seen a lot of shows. London shows, shows in America, school and college shows and plenty of shows in the local areas. Nativity was absolutely incredible and I have to say, it was probably one of the best shows I have ever seen. The theatre itself is beautiful. We sat at the top in the dress circle and the view was great. The cast of the show were fabulous and just perfect. They made me laugh, they made me cry, they made me feel like I was actually part of the show and then the flying boy.....well I couldn't believe it. Fabulous. The toilets were clean and the staff were so friendly and helpful. The icecreams were very affordable and they have a card machine so it's great for people that don't carry cash or decide half way through that actually they do want an ice-cream, as there is no need to preorder. Thankyou to everyone that made the show possible last night. It was incredible.

This is such a great venue with a scale that is breath taking. It's got 4 or 5 stages for a start! And the range of shows is amazing. Plus it's all done by locals, for locals. Any local government with half a brain would back this. Highly recommend people go along and enjoy themselves!

A very good garden centre with an excellent range of healthy plants and landscaping materials. Their range includes mature specimen plants if you want a quick fix. Some nice feature gardens for inspiration. Expert design service, I have had a design from them which I was happy with but we did not subsequently use their landscapers to implement it so I can't comment on the latter.

A job thoroughly well done. The neighbours love it and the teenagers too! The pond! The weather was varying atrocious to plain cold, windy and wet! Your two teams plugged on in the worst weather and capitalised on the slightly better. As the project finished and Jon arrived the sun came out on key. It looks charming. Just waiting to be sat in and stared at. An epic transformation to a garden we can be proud of. Your team were a pleasure to have around and I am only sorry we could not offer more hospitality. I always love looking around here at the plants and garden designs. It is a beautiful place and worth coming to visit even if you don't purchase anything. Employees are polite and always check in, they have workshops there if you wanna learn something at a reasonable price and I will definitely go again.

Sam Foster took my drawings and plans, and in 3 weeks of work Andy and Tom made it a reality. The plan doesn't show the garden fence and gate they replaced, the pad they installed in back of my shed, or leveling my brick driveway. The work was done in the time promised at the price quoted. Andy and Tom kept working no mater the weather. The attention to detail and their craftsmanship is something to see. I'm very pleased. And so is my wife. Great staff. Pulled in with a flat tyre and they went out of their way to help me, offering to help me change the tyre or call recovery for me. Wasn't possible to change it but made sure I got home safe. Will be back but next time for plants :)

Fantastic place and very well laid out. I love the garden examples they have, it’s like an IKEA for garden centres. Prices are reasonable and the staff are very helpful. My new favourite garden centre.

Poor designs. Bad managment. Way over priced. I feel bad for the workers as they are all good at what they do but get dragged down by the management above them. After talking to some of the labourers I was shocked to hear they charge £1000 a day for labour but the workers are basically on minimum wage. The quality of materials is awful. The designer was extremely rude and it soon became apparent that he didnt know the job or materials as well as he was making out... All in all this was a terrible experience and I will be airing my displeasure to anyone who asks.

Customer experience is great, really helpful and knowledgeable staff always willing to help. Good range of plants at competitive prices. Even though I have many closer nurseries / garden centres to me, I am always prepared to travel to this one.

An excellent job of restoring our large patio by the hardworking and friendly team at Hambrooks. Day one consisted of all the joints being ground out, uneven slabs were stabilised, a cleaning solution was applied and left for 2 hours before being washed off. Day 2 a further solution was applied as some black marks had not disappeared completely. The solution was washed off and resin was applied to all joints. The result a patio which looks like new with colours showing we didn't realise where there. I would have no hesitation in recommending this company for any of your garden requirements. Thank you.

This is a beautiful garden that has an amazing range of plants, flowers, trees and grasses. It's always quiet and immaculately maintained. This is a not far from where I live and I appreciate it greatly. It's a credit to our council, well done everyone.

The Garden of Reflection is a very beautiful and peaceful oasis off of Osborne Road in Fareham. The choice of plants for their colour and fragrance is brilliant Lots of Palm trees, very well kept, very relaxing place to unwind or just have lunch.

This garden is matured wonderfully over the years and it's obvious that it is well maintained with an interesting variety of plants. I believe it may originally have been a Princess Diana memorial garden, or for the Millennium(?) but is now simply a very attractive space to stop and rest. Well done Fareham for this little gem.

Small ish garden, great for sensory as they have lots of different type flowers/plants.. lovely colours. Little plates to tell you about the flowers. Benches dotted around. Can wall around it in five minutes, little grass area for picnics etc in the middle.. shame it's next to the one way system... not as tranquil as it could be.

Alot bigger than I thought so nice and peaceful lots of benches to sit on very quiet lovely place just to sit and enjoy.

Nice place to sit down and take some time out of the day. In the middle of these days when all seems muddled up with covid and life it can get too much so find a space where you can rest is important.

We visited Gaylord Antiques to look for a small chest of drawers which we did find and subsequently purchase. Ian and Lynda could not have been any more pleasant. They were so very knowledgeable and extremely helpful and it was a pleasure to purchase from them. The customer service was 100% but the only 'downside' is that, unfortunately, our house isn't large enough to accommodate any more items of their fabulous furniture. If you are looking for authentic antiques then I would highly recommend a visit to the showroom. I had also mentioned to Ian that I had a problem with an antique chest of drawers which I already own and he could not have been more helpful. He talked me through exactly what I needed to do and even wrote a list for me which detailed how to undertake the small repair job. This goes over and above any customer service which you would ever receive in any other store. Thank you both so very much and we will certainly purchase from you again and also recommend you to anyone we know who may be looking to purchase quality antiques. We couldn't be more happy.

A lovely range of quality antique furniture - well worth a visit. Ian provided superb customer service and we're very happy with the dresser we purchased. Will be keeping an eye out on the website for further items.

Popped in for a browse and ended up having a lovely chat with the owner. Really interesting and helpful chap, very keen to pass on information and tips on what to look for when looking for quality furniture. Will definitely be going back if i ever need advice or when next looking for furniture. Cant recommend enough!

A very good experience this month with a couple of visits to Gaylords. I now have a lovely well-priced oak chair that suits me perfectly. My husband and I received courteous and knowledgeable service from Ian and we will be back.

I have known about Gaylord's for many years but this was the first time I have been in to purchase something. Ian and Lynda were incredibly helpful and very knowledgeable not just about the furniture but about some other items we wanted to refurbish and about how to keep our new table in the best condition. Nothing was too much trouble, they even delivered the table for me. I am absolutely delighted with my new piece of furniture and will certainly be going back there.Highly recommended and I shall be telling all my friends.

I came across Gaylords Antiques by chance when searching online for a hall table for my new home. The service and goods received from Lynda and her team were top notch. I not only purchased a table but also a chair and I hope to visit online again in the future. A very friendly, helpful and well run business, a great experience all round. I would highly recommend.

Gaylords was recommended to me by a friend who has used it several times so l ordered a large table online. I phoned the shop to discuss the item before the purchase and found the staff very helpful and informative. They had a lovely manner with me and sent me more pictures to my email. I was delighted that they could send me the table by courier for a very reasonable price. When l actually saw the table it was much nicer than l thought, it had been finished to a high standard and was just stunning. I was totally impressed with every aspect of the service l got and will certainly be using them again.
