We arrived in Alberobello without a reservation but went directly to the winery (a 5-minute walk from the train station) and were able to arrange a tour and tasting for later that afternoon. But we’re so glad we stayed because this was the best part of the day! Valentina showed us around the winery and explained the fermentation and bottling process. Then we got to see the Museum which included the best explanation of the history of the region and the trulli that we’ve seen. Finally the highlight: the wine tasting! We tasted a rosé, a white, and a red. All were delicious and we left with a bottle of the white and a bottle of the red which we will drink during our time in Italy. Total cost was €36 — there was no charge for the tour or the Museum, we only paid for the wine. If you’re in the area, we highly recommend a stop at the Cantina Albea & Museo!
