A good museum but it felt like it could be great. The phone-based tour seemed incomplete and didn't flow well; also three of the four "tracks" were only in Danish (perhaps it's very new?). The live action guides were okay but also could have been more engaging with adults. The "cafe" was disappointing.

Super entertaining castle for kids as well as a very intriguing museum. The story laid put by the staff for the kids to follow was very well thought out and immersive, they all really enjoyed it! It was also interesting to learn about the rich history of this UNESCO site!

The castle is worth visiting even without paying to go inside (the ticket is kinda pricey, 14€ per person). The place looks wonderful, and while resting on the beach we even sighted a wild seal and a harbour porpoise! Around the castle there are lots of workshop and art galleries which is nice as it feels like local artists really have a way to express themselves and get the possibility to expose their work. The little gift shop is also a bit pricey but it has funny little Hamlet-themed quirks. Too bad they didn't write "to be or not to baby" on the baby onesie 😆

There are plenty of things to do and see at the castle, if you are with private tour then you will get more time to explore. View from the top of tower is magnificent, steps aren’t that tough. Each room explains its history. Exploring the case mates below the ground was fun. Some areas are totally dark. I loved the countryside drive. Its worth to visit👍

Really interesting Castle. With a great lookout tour, really well kept tunnel system, a beautiful exterior and an amazing art exhibition "Monsters" which talks a lot about medieval Monsters and current day mental health. Really well done exhibition.

Beautiful place, absolutely recommended. The castle is really well preserved, the whole surrounding area kept in excellent condition gives the place the right lift. It's nice to visit these places without excessive crowds, immersing yourself a little in the "part". Fun castle to visit. Courtyard has lots of activities, like stilt walking and how medieval workmen used pulley systems to lift stones. This is the famous castle mentioned in Shakespeare's Hamlet, Kronborg. It's only an hour train ride north from Copenhagen. If you have purchased the Copenhagen city pass, your castle entrance is FREE. The souvenir shop inside the castle has a lot of stuff on Shakespeare. Come visit just to see the history, the beautiful scenery and ocean view. If you have the time, the ferry is a short distance from the castle and a 20-minute ride to Sweden. The Swedish people are NICE and friendly!!!!!

The castle is spacious and pretty. When we visited, there was an exhibition Magical Ceilings highlighting their beauty. However, some rooms only have natural light and, therefore, some rooms were too dark to see the furniture and paintings well.

Wonderful Renaissance castle beside the harbor of Helsignør. The staff were very, very helpful, especially the two men dressed as a courtier and a jester.

This  is a castle and stronghold. It is also famous world over as the setting of Shakespeare's Hamlet. The castle is open to visitors including the royal chambers, the ballroom, the chapel and various other sections. The staff provides a quick introduction after which one is free to explore the castle on their own. There was a lot to learn about the Danish history and specially about Kind Frederick II and his queen who was quite astute with managing the finances after the King. The castle is walking distance away from the Helsingör central station which is also where the ferry from Sweden disembarks. There are washrooms available in the castle premises.

One of the most important sights in Denmark that you must not miss. The museum in the castle takes you far back in the Danish history. Just opposite the castle there is a new Library which is also worth visiting. Helsingør itself is also a nice town worth seeing.

This place has lots to offer and there is a lovely section for children. One can learn about a variety of things such as the role women played, tattoos and instruments to facilitate navigation. Another important aspect of this Museum to appreciate is the architecture. For example, as one ascends the staircase from the cafe, the views are alluring and I tried to capture the unique way in which this place is built in some of my photographs. Before one gets to the exit, there are some wonderful model ships to see.

I found this museum to be very interesting, especially the first half, where they tell you about the sailors life. I must say, however, that this museum is oriented mostly to people that doesn't sail or that is not that familiar with sailing/maritime life.

Amazing architecture and reuse of the old shipyard! We spent a bit over an hour and a half here. 135kr is the ticket price. We thought it was free as we went in via the Cafe and never saw a ticket counter until leaving through the amazing gift shop. We saw collections of Danish shop models and in particular a lot of fabulous interactive displays covering globalization, wartime and the best kids area i may have ever seen! On display currently is the pearl divers from South Korea. Amazing cultural pearl (pun intended 😎)

Visited with Copenhagen card. Was part of a used shipyard now converted to a museum with different exhibition. The exhibition about sailors and different histories of the ships produced by denmark. Also a great place to bring kids as there is a large play area.

Amazing meusem which allows you to understand the experiences of the sailors while walking you through the history of shipping and globalization. Lots of models and films to explain and plenty to look at for a few hours.

They have a good collection. If you are really interested in maritime things then you can easily spent 1 day. If not and if you don't have the copenhagen card don't bother buying the tickets. I would recommend spending more time at the Kronborg Castle and then if you still have time take a walk round the castle, have a nice lunch take a stroll round the old city.

I absolutely LOVED this place and the funny thing is that I didn't know what to expect. I knew Denmark was a country with maritine history but it's so rich and detailed that it makes for a very interesting museum. Ships and the maritine life are both fascinating. Although I know it's not for everyone, if you have the time while in Helsingør I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by what this place has to offer

The architecture of this museum is A+++. How they have creatively converted an abandoned shipyard into a masterpiece inspiring. The cafe was one the highlights for me. Exposed concrete & rusted metal walls, high ceilings in a modern glass case. The salad was fresh & delish! 😋

A fun museum with a jumble of exhibits, all loosely focused on the sea. For example, there are lots of exhibits with model ships and explaining shipping, then there's exhibits about sailors in pop culture, and you can give yourself your own (non-permanent) sailor tattoo. There's an indoor play area that slants so that you feel like you're at sea, and they have sea chanty karaoke, including "what do you do with a drunken sailor." Then there's rotating exhibits, like one about Korean women free-divers who harvest food from the ocean floor. It's all iver the place! But it's fun, and it's a cool building built into an old dry dock. It's a good place to visit with kids, but stick together! It's easy to go in circles in there, looking for each other.

Just love walking and enjoying this beautiful place ,have done it for many years ,but never get tired of being here , even when I moved away from there ,i still came back again and again !

Really scary casemats!

The statue is imposing. The massive size of Oilger shows that if he were to stand, he'd easily be 10 feet tall, or more. We're allowed to look in it, to fall in that one is a deliberate act against common sense (because you'd have to literally climb a wall) The statue is at the start of the casement exhibit, but there's so much more to see on the way through. Watch your head space, low arches in ceiling in places. The stone stairs are so worn, you can see the hundreds of years of people using them. It's a thing that reminds a person how each step leaves an imprint, cumulative through time. A must see at Kronborg Castle. The low price of admission includes all three exhibits and the grounds. A big sculpture of Holger Danske is located in the beginning of the Kronborg's casemates. This hero is sleeping while nothing threatens Denmark. In other case he will wake up and fight for his country. Very interesting to see it. Casemates themselves are a bit narrow and dark (think about this before going there). Simply wonderful. I've been to some science museums in the US like the Hall of Science in NY or Liberty Science in NJ museums that seem more geared towards kids. This has exhibits lots of informative details.. we loved the exhibit about energy and Denmark's push for green living. My only wish was for them to have more of their displays in English too. Many are but about 40% weren't. Luckily there is Google Translate. (See how-to below) Pro Tip: download 'Google Translate' from the App Store/Google Play store and then download Danish language pack for OFFLINE with in Google Translate so can use (in case you don't have cell service). Then you can point your smartphone camera at the Danish-only placards and read them in English. It's not always perfect but it's mostly useful. ALSO some hotels offered a 20% coupon for admission. Look for it where you're staying.

Why not call it museum of vehicles instead? Because that is what 90 % of the exhibition is about. Kids (and adults) may tread passengers' planes, a steam locomotive and a tram, which is fun. There's a café and a little museum's shop.

To be quite frank with you, i expected way more from the museum. Nothing impressive - the exhibition is mostly old bikes, cars, a few planes and helicopters, a wall of old mobile phones, etc. Also there is no proper food in the cafe, nor nearby - just some croissants and ice-cream, so you'd better be prepared with some food especially if you come with small kids.

A nice iconic museum in Helsingør. Very informative and sure kids will love this museum. Spacious parking available, public toilets and a small quick bite restaurant also available. You can see vintage cars and some old stuff inside. We visited on 30.10.2022, entry ticket price was 110 DKK per person, I believe this is really expensive for this place. Museum management need to consider reducing entry fee. I recommend to visit here if you want to spend some hours by roaming around (Entry fee is really expensive for this place)

Good to see how much the technology has advanced. Lots of things to see. The people working there are so friendly and I got to talk a lot with a person reconstructing an early 20th century plane. He explained a lot and I'm very grateful for his time and sharing of knowledge 🙂

Nice place to visit, but it isn't maintained very well... everything is dusty and it feels like the entire collection hasn't been updated in over 10 years. The stuff they do have is interesting, but idk if it's worth traveling to it from Copenhagen.

If you are interested in planes, trains, car, engines and a lot of other big and small technology. Then this museum is definitely for you. I spent 3 hours getting through all the excibits an enjoyed every moment of it. There are interesting stuff for all ages. I recommend a visit if you have the chance to visit.

A really nice little science and technology museum well worth the visit. Most of the exhibits were labelled in both Dansk and English and the few things that weren’t were pretty easy to figure out. I was pleasantly surprised to see the CF-104 star fighter on display. If you’re making a day trip to the museum from Copenhagen by train get off at Snekkersten instead of Helsingor as it’s a shorter walk.

I was only in the Cafe which was crazy expensive. We just wanted a small beer which was 40 kr for 25cl 😵‍💫

Came to visit Kronborg Castle and dtopped in the cafe fir a brunch. The location fronts Helsingor harbor, on the way to Kronborg, next to Maritime Museum. The all glass front is great to sunbath inside minus the cold wind. Lovely cafe serving pastries, open-faced sandwiches. I love the Danish shrimp Smorrebrod. Tender shrimps with plenty of sliced boiled egg taste well. Americano is just ok though.

This library is worth a visit just to see the innovative architecture. The building used to be part of the old shipyard. The conversion to a library included adding a glass skeleton on the outside and cleverly adapting the inside. Don’t miss going to the reading room on the 2nd or 3rd floor. Wonderfully cozy aquarium where the animals are all loved and cared for very well. The staff are all very friendly and helpful and great with answering the many questions of the guests.

I absolutely adore this aquarium! The experience was phenomenal. Being able to interact with aquatic animals was a highlight. Kathrine, the marine biology student, was incredibly knowledgeable and took us backstage to interact with animals. Overall, a must-visit for anyone fascinated by marine life!

Charming little aquarium where you can see and touch a few sea creatures. Don’t go in expecting something huge, the moment we went in we were told that this is Denmark’s smallest aquarium, but that didn’t take away from how cool and cozy this felt. It was included in the Copenhagen Card, so we went there and had a blast for 30 minutes, plus, touching fish, crabs and other sea creatures was super cool.

It’s a tiny aquarium, but you can really see the care of the staffs here. The mirrors are also clear as being wiped by the staff, the tank was also wiped when there’s water droplets (you can touch animals in this tank). The displays in each tank is nice too, I can really look at the details on the fish’s body, it’s a lot better than many aquarium that create too much distance between us and the fish. I don’t know about other days, but today 11:00 they were feeding fish, and I got to feed too! If you love aquarium, I think you should visit.

Tiny, cozy aquarium. It is very small but they offer amazing interactive activities every hour, like feeding the fish and other creatures habituating the aquarium. Beside this, there is a fun catching crab activity, where kids can catch some of the crabs and then release them in special outdoor basin where they live and are fed by staff.

Very nice old brick church. Inside church there is a model of the ship which hangs from the ceiling that is typical for Danish churches. Around the church there are very nice and colorful old houses. Also, from the Kronborg tower observation deck you can see best harbor views of the city and the church is nicely seen from there too.

Small but wonderful museum in the old buildings that housed workshops. Many models of the ships built over the century the shipyard operated. Showcases the evolution of techniques, details of woodwork and engines.
