Really fun and interactive museum. Really nice to see the history of television and radio, but also having the opportunity to participate and explore things yourself.

Enjoyable place for a days out with a family. Not so much as a solo visit from what I noticed. Still you can learn about the media culture of the Netherlands and also some international media. There’s lots of games to play and do there and it’s not so much a museum but more of an interactive experience. If you are looking for a museum visit I would not recommend this place but if you are looking for an interactive experience this would be a great place.
Great museum where the Dutch Game Awards were held this year. The museum is adding gaming to their museum and is currently working on new installations. Will be good to check out when they have finished!
It's a very modern museum, gives you super new experiences that you can't get from others.
Museum has a building with spectacular architecture. Very specious. It’s cafeteria is also nice with reasonable prices. Museum content is a bit mix of everything. That’s understandable as it is about radio, tv, gaming and internet at the same time. The interaction with material in museum by phones are interesting for kids and youngsters. However a little overwhelming for kids with too much screens and lights. They get exhausted at the end. For grown ups the content is less interesting. Overall good for a day activity with family. Also all the people working there were very friendly.
Went there for a work event. Very enthousiastic and energetic staff, fully involved on all the activities we had that day together with them. Always going the extra mile to make the experience unique. We also visited the museum, which seems nice, but most likely interesting for Dutch than for foreigners, as it is mainly focused on Dutch TV events and personalities. They have however a very interesting collection of audio/video devices from all periods worth checking.
Waste of time and money if you do not want to download an app or use one of their devices to visit 90% of the museum. The vaste majority of this museum to you need to scan a QR code. If you do not do this then you will not have much to do. There is almost nothing for the under 10 crowd. Yes, you can build your own game level but for most young children this is very difficult to do and there are long lines. In the past there was a nice balance in interactive media and classical museum exhibits. This is no longer there. What a pity, thank goodness I used a free pass to enter.

The building is pretty, but the museum isn't spectacular. Also, it is fully in Dutch. This might not be handy if you bring guests from abroad.
It’s redecorated since 2-3 years ago, the themes are totally changed. Nice changes for the young people, but less for small kids. It’s recommended for kids above 8, and I think it’s reasonable. Elder kids, youths and adults will love here. A lot of programs about how to be an influencer, producer, director and so on.
Nice museum with many experiences of different media, filming, gaming. However the app approach is tedious and the museum is quite chaotic in its organization
Interesting museum (for a Dutch speaking audience) that does a great job explaining media for young and old. A great self-catering restaurant with friendly staff that went out of their way to prepare a freshly made gluten free sandwiche.

Clean, services are good. Parking is what it is in Hilversum - painful unless you go for the very close garage. The 15 pause in the middle is annoying but some folks like that, be aware when choosing which showing.
The screen we went to was pretty small and they play movies the old school way (I was surprised with this bit). However, the experience is not bad. There were popcorn buckets left under our seat from the previous viewing though.
Cinema location, quality of picture, sound, seating and cleanliness is great!
But beverage and food service is a bit slow (not the fault of the workers!). The process has to be reviewed to lower the waiting time.
Beautiful modern movie theater situated at the edge of the market terrain. Screen 1 is the biggest and has the best sound & image quality. It looks clean for a movie theater and the staff is always friendly. Bonus tip: if you want to grab something to eat or drink before or after going to the movies ‘mout’ is a perfect choice. It’s across the movie theater and a food hall concept with almost an infinite amount of choices on the menu.

All South Indian movie lovers. This is the place for all major South Indian movie releases. You can book tickets online from linusmedia folks. It’s a good theatre to watch some back home stars on the big screens. Enjoy your movie. One thing I felt missing is that josh and audience noise. It’s silent. Nama local theatre Mari varuma 💙

Parking is very difficult although there is a parking area in front of the building , since it is in the centrum parking spaces are always almost filled. Better to park in nearby Q parks. If lucky you could find some street parking too.
Its a great cinema but after entering people have too much freedom, the last 2 movies we went to where ruined by people taking pics in the room and lots of noisy groups, after reporting what happend the staff did check up on them but left it with that. Little bit of more security or staff checking the screen rooms wouldnt hurt
It's okay, one of the two cinemas in Hilversum. They show enough movies for you to pick from, but some movies are only shown very late. They must have some sort of calculation system to decide on the times... So, whom am I to say, it's just a shame that they have some movies only at 10 pm. The interior is starting to get old, i.e., the seats look dirty. It's just alright.
The lady in the front denied me entry because I didn't want to watch ads for 20 minutes. Been coming here for 10 years and always arriving ~20 minutes past the start time.
The place is so big, screen, sound perfect. But how do you put your feet on the seat?

Brunette manager said theater doesn’t accept visa or MasterCard and was rude and unhelpful. Disappeared into her office. Then I found out I could buy ticket online with MasterCard or visa. Girl at desk was equally uninformed and unhelpful. I missed the first few min of the movie as a result. None of them showed that they cared at all. There was one guy who ended up helping me in a jacket. Not a customer friendly movie theater

Love this theater! Not only do they have great movies and comfortable seats. The food and drinks are very reasonable. Only suggestion is get better white wine! You can sit inside or outside before or after the movie. It is simply has a great atmosphere.

I've been to the Filmtheater a few times and every time I enjoy my time there a little bit more. The staff is friendly and the ambience relaxing. It's not your typical kind of cinema with big popcorn vending machines. No, on the contrary, their viewing rooms are small, their 'menu' is minimal, but the quality of movies is what I like the most. All of their movies are not the simple-minded Hollywood blockbusters, instead they provide a wide variety of movies ranging from documentaries and biopics to arthouse, from many different countries.
One of the best viewing experiences in recent memory.
Finally after so many months being locked because of corona, the theater opened its doors and we went to see the movie Bernadette directed by the dutch director verhoeven. We had a great evening seeing the movie and having a drink in the cafetaria afterwards.
The Filmtheater is modern and comfortable. A great place to watch movies except the sound and screen don't match up to the modern dolby experience. But if it's not a blockbuster then it really does not matter.
I'm a fan.
A good place to see the more unknown and alternative movies in a small scale cinema. The location is clean and is comfortable enough to watch a movie. There is a bar where you can get hot and cold drinks as well as alcoholic beverages and snacks.

A really great tour with very good explanations from our guide (of age 😉). We got to see a lot and you can take photos everywhere. A highlight in Dutch architecture.
As a kid, my father took me to the Raadhuis for the Philips Wereld Communicatiejaar in 1983. I still have the copper plaque that was handed out to visitors. Ever since I have loved the Dudok architecture, yellow bricks, and that type of style. Not a connaiseur but growing up amongst that type of architecture creates a fondness. A picture of the plaque is attached for posterity.

Today I saw another kid hit by a car at the Kleine Drift crossing near the station. It's the third time I have seen it happen in one year. And to be fair, I do not even pass by there that often.
Every day they don't fix this is another day a kid can be hit by a car. The crossing is dangerous and completely unacceptable.
I've called them before, and there is no clear date when it will be fixed.

Love the exterior of this building by the architect Dudok, but the interiors are absolutely stunning. The attention to detail is incredible everywhere you look.
It is well worth taking the guided tour (1.30pm Thursday to Sunday) as this gives you a good look round with a knowledgeable guide (we got a guide booklet in English as the tour is in Dutch) and the opportunity to go climb to the top of the tower (over 200 steps). The view from the top is amazing, especially with the autumnal colour at the end of October.
A magnificient building in Hilversum, the Netherlands, by Willem Marinus Dudok built in 1927-1931. It consists of rectangular prisms stacked together. A belltower of 48 meters plays optimistic tunes once in a while. Walking around the building makes you happy. The building radiates pureness, beauty, logic and purposefullnes. When you have the opportunity go there and experience its personality.
Dudok's architecture are the beauty of lines, rationality, style and modernity. Everything ingenious is simple.
We did a tour of this beautiful building after having lived opposite it for 2 years … gorgeous on the inside as it is on the outside, lovely to hear the details about how Dudok wanted it to be perceived. Highly recommended!
We moved to Hilversum 1,5 years ago. The service at the city hall has always been excellent: fast, efficient and helpful. Today we even used the wassap option and they were fantastic and helped us with our needs. After living abroad across many countries and our second destination in the Netherlands I’d say this is by far the best city hall team I ever dealt with.

The quality of food is great! The people are nice. You can enjoy chill resort atmosphere here with view on this beautiful architectural masterpiece.
Wonderful location. Great area to have a wonderful and refreshing walk in the surrounding forest. Well signed and so special during autumn time.
Great coffee and (home made) apple cake, friendly staff. The Modern brasserie is situated in an old sanatorium; well restored and maintained, lots of interesting history. The buildings are surrounded by forests and fields with heather; nice for a stroll after lunch or dinner.

The location and ambiance is fabulous, situated in the forest/heather fields its a beautiful monumental building designed by architect Duiker (also designed Gooiland in Hilversum). A great place to grab a bite or drink after/before a walk. Service is unfortunately where they lose points

Just a lovely little photo museum. Go visit if you're in the neighbourhood and you have an hour to spare.
Great and interesting little museum in the heart of Hilversum. It’s all about photography in this museum and it covers a wide range of topics. Would recommend if you are in Hilversum for a visit. Staff was nice and knowledgeable about all the exhibitions.
I went there to see an exhibit about the Chinese Dream and was expecting balanced views from both sides. I like the video clips of the documentary. However, the photos there are just coming from stereotypes, which might be another form of racism. The exhibition ends with a set up of white balloons, which is for funerals in China and for good luck in Japan. This is such a waste of a theme with great potential.
Went to this museum in the old mayor of hilversum office. The building could be 300 years old and is now completely rehabilitated. They were hosting an exhibition called "china dreams" by 3 photographers who traveled around china photographing mostly common men scenes. It was nice. Beside this exhibition there was not much to see about Hilversum, so that was a bit of a disappointment.
Not worth it. We brought our kids looking to see some Dutch art or culture while visiting Hilversum from the USA. This exhibit “Icons” was pictures of mostly American pop stars which you could look at via google. Not worth the price or visit. Only redeeming quality was a cool photo opt wall.
The exhibition space is quite nice and bigger than one would expect. They have some interesting shows and when they do it makes for a very nice afternoon out.
It’s not really about Hilversum, rather a photography museum. Still it had some very interesting stories to tell about the things that are happening and have happened in the Netherlands and the rest of the world. It is very calm inside.

It's a beautiful place with so many things to see. I went when it was snowing a few weeks back and was lucky to see a white wolf!
This place is a miracle! Once sand was mined here. Now here it is place of amazing beauty.
Good place to enjoy the heather fields. You can park your car in heideparking, which is free and muddy parking area. The walk in the heather field is very nice, you might able to spot deer and definitely Scottish Highlander’s. Recommend to visit in early morning or during sunset to see heather fields. Of course trees in this area are beautiful.
Friendly staff helped me on my way to start the ‘ ‘voetstappen pad’ 25 km walk. Enjoyed the walk through their area of work, they do a great job, my donation will follow tomorrow!

An amazing spot for winter wedding photography in utrecht with a lot to offer from forests to the heide, and big wide open spaces
Good large sized area, great for dogs to roam. Some cows grazing, horse riders, and bikers. There are some decent woods in the fringes also.
Lovely place to visit on every season !!
Hiking, running, biking, walking your dogs; whatever your preference may be, they can all easily be done here. The land is very spacious and never over crowded, with multiple paths to go on, so there are endless possibilities in terms of the routes you may wish to take each time you go.
Beautiful natural area. You can walk your dogs there off the leash. Just keep them away from the cows. Usually not hard to do. Note horse trails run thru the area. Bike paths also run thru the giving access to Loosdrecht and Lage vuursche. In August come see the 'hei' blooming a beautiful deep purple.
The hoorneboegse heide is a piece of wetland bordering the outskirts of Hilversum. Wild cows can be found here. In the middle of the wetland is the Hoornboegse Centre for meditation and yoga. There is also a restaurant with all sorts of organic food. As the wetlands borders the outskirt of Hilversum, many residents of these outskirts walk their dog there. So be careful.
Good place to walk, run or bike. I have done all three. Views are good and you get to see far away which is not possible the city
A very large natural reserve area that also has forests around, and very close from home. So fortunate to have it so close.

Good shopping mall in the town center of Hilversum. Easy parking. The Groest next door is great for having a drink or bite.
Great location with quite some options, not the biggest mall there is but conveniently situated in the centre surrounded by more historic stores and restaurants.
Public toilet on the lowest floor, with baby changing facilities, gotta pay though 70 cents.
Nice mall and streets right outside are filled with other very well-known stores, making it easier to enjoy a great day of shopping.
Shopping mall in the middle of Hilversum. Chain stores, nothing fancy. Totally exchangeable with other malls around the world.
Stop closing the doors on one side!!!! Some people are heavily disabled and use this place regularly for supplies.
How hard is it to fix a broken door? Or keep the centre open (all doors) until dirk is closed? Stupid and clearly poor management
Centrally located. Has more no.of shops and a good play area for kids. Parking is a bit expensive and the toilets are to pay and use.
I love going there. Here you can find primark,H&M,zara,krudent,Blokker and other shops.
It's very small though good to get everything under one roof.

Nice small shopping mall inside Hilversum town, you pay high to park there and on top, the only mall in the world you have to pay to go to the toilet, welcome to the NL.

Absolutely stunning! Unspoiled by litter, gives feel of real forest. Few holiday homes present here and there but are well maintained.
U can find people walking their dogs, on walks, cycling etc.

Don’t waste you time at home in a beautiful summer day when you have this amazing area near by. For running, jogging, walking, or just dog-go-for-a-walk kind of activity; it is a relaxing and disconnected-for-the-rest scenery. Simply…go !
One of the most important and relaxing experiences I have had since moving to NL. Even on a typical cloudy day, this area stood out as an example of how beautiful this country can be. I almost felt like I was back in the countryside of the UK at some points, but the unspoiled nature combined with the careful planning of the man made canals and the odd house or farm made this a day to remember.
Great hikes around the local area walking towards Bussum. Follow this route Thijsse and Hermans trail
Fantastic walks for hour,s not far from.main transport and walk into the local town

A sweet small gem of a place, we ended up here a bit by mistake, but enjoyed ourselves very much. A bit small and no parking took off the one point.

It is a small but beautiful botanical garden. I ended up here because they were facilitating a chess club to play for the summer on that day. it is very interesting to read through everything and get to know more about the flora of this place and it is beautiful, very calming and just nice to walk through

Very helpful staff, great location and good size rooms (we had a family room for four). But there is a construction site next door and the noise from 7:30am onwards means that there is no sleep after that. Supposed to last until October/November 2022.
By far the best hotel in Hilversum. Stayed here for 6 nights. The bed is simply amazing. The room is comfy and clean. And most importantly: The staff is really helpful, genuine and understanding. Felt here at home and would highly recommend it.
It seems the hotel building it’s self used to be for a radio broadcasting.
Brilliant there is a Gothic church opposite the hotel.
They have rentable bikes which was great to explore the city.
Lovely balcony for the room would of been great to have some deckchairs out there also the rooms could of done with a fridge.
All in all great place to stay, very quiet and a lovely cake shop next door if your looking to treat yourself!
