Nice national trust car parking with FREE 7kw charging! Almost never find this these days. From the car park there is several paths to the point, the shortest is about a mile. Makes for a nice round trip. It’s a general path suitable for all. Great views and things to look at along the way.

National Trust land just above Croyde beach, left to the NT by the Hyde family lovely headland walk , stunning views and cafes for the return journey to the car.

Great sights and a nice walk. I would recommend walking around on the SW coast path and then back down over the top, as its less tiring and the views are better. There's a nice place to sit at the edge and hang out, with some steps in place to make your way down. There's a couple of benches darted around too.

Simply stunning location to watch the sunset and relax. About 0.5 mile from Croyde beach, reached via a narrow path that is right on the edge of the cliff. Leave a good hour before sunset to get the final minutes of the daylight. No cycling, and no disabled access unfortunately. Worth the walk.

We did a circular walk from putsbrough to baggy point to Croyde then back over the top to putsbrough we had beautiful weather the dogs loved it as did we.and the cream tea in Croyde and the doggy ice cream 🍦

Great walk must do if you are staying in Croyde, if not I wouldn't travel to do this walk. Although the scenery is stunning it is isn't extraordinary so I would only do this walk if I was staying in/near Croyde. Spectacular views over the bay, beautiful scenery of the rocky cliffs and the picturesque Croyde village in the distance. You can enjoy the vast coastline of North Devon and out to Lundy in the distance. Not a difficult walk at all, very short, if you take your time it will probably be 40 mins to 1 hour depending on how far you walk. Make sure to check out the surfers cafe down the road from the walk👍👍👍

Great views and some interesting things to see on the way. This short stretch (about a mile, one way) is part of the South West coastal path but can be a walk in itself. There's plenty of bird life in Spring and Summer as well as a few artificial features to enjoy on the way. Allow for a couple of hours to take pictures, watch the sea birds and simply enjoy the view. The path is not too taxing for the reasonably able bodied though there are a couple of steep inclines up and down. This entire walk is completely exposed so check the weather to ensure mild temperatures, low winds and no rain. As ever, take plenty of water. For the best experience, walk along the coastal path to the point but come back over the top for a little variety and to see the dry stone walling and WW2 pillbox. If you stay in or near the village then walk up to the start. For those driving here, there's a National Trust car park at the beginning of the walk

Great walk even in the autumn months. Nice easy round route from the car park (£5 for the day). Lovely views up and down the coast.

A must visit for hikers when in north Devon. Takes around 30 minutes to reach baggy point from National trust car park. It’s an easy walk and you could do a circular walk on the hill and other side from the coast.

Good paths and lovely views. We really enjoyed our walk and the kids loved the free adventurers backpacks from the national trust carpark.

Really nice place for a walk, the views are great, it was very windy though and was blown around a lot. Be aware that National Trust parking is £5 unless you're a member.

Three miles of golden sands stretching north towards Woolacombe and Morte Point and south towards Baggy Point make up Putsborough. Sunny but windy day. A very quiet day to start the season. A few passersby all over the beach. There was no way to swim (the water was too cold). Either way, it was a very good and pleasant time.

Puts is amazing! Overnight camping in our van here is all we ever want to do! Beach is amazing, rock pools, surf and amenities all superb, clean and ultra friendly 👌🏻

A beautiful sandy dog-friendly beach as good as anything you’ll find in the Med! Perfect for families with young kids and there a good shop there too, that will cater for all your refreshment needs. Perfect! 👌🏼😍

The best beach in North Devon. Very clean. Interesting rocks with rock pools, crabs etc. Huge expanse of white sand. Good surfing. Good cafe, clean toilets. My family have been coming here since 1967.

Utter gem of a beach, and the Baggy Head peninsula acts as a buffer for the winds that come from the South West unlike Woolacombe that is much windier most days. There's a great cafe up a few steps but toilets are further up near the far side of the car park. £11 to park for the day is a bit steep, but it's only £10 if you fancy the 3km walk from Woolacombe 🤣 Stunning views and waves are good enough for body boards, need the right weather for surfing conditions, but can get some good barrels. Surf board hire at the top near the car park.

Great beach that doesn’t disappear completely at high tide. Half the beach allows dogs, half doesn’t. Great cafe and shop, if a little pricey. Only 4 stars as the charge to park is horrendous

Gorgeous beach. Parking for a car is £12 which is a lot of money but there are quite a few staff needed to get maximum parking on what is essentially a small grass field Very good toilets! No human drinking water tap. Cafe is efficient, getting through the long queues quickly. Prices not exorbitant. Few GF choices beyond jacket potato.

School's back, and so is the British hot weather. Devon and Cornwall boast some beautiful beaches, and Putsborough is one of my favourites. Generally, less crowded than its neighbours, Croyde, Saunton or Woolacombe, Putsborough is an ideal beach for the family, with its gorgeous sand and lots of lovely rock pools to explore with baby crabs 🦀 shrimps and tiny fish. Car parking is generally £10 per visit and there is a little snack shop with the usual beach prices, so it is best to come well prepared, particularly if you're on a tight budget. One of the reasons Putsborough Sands tends to be quieter is because of the narrow lanes you have to navigate to get here. One London tourist asked me: "Isn't this one way?" as his car inched past mine. You can see Woolacombe at the far end in my photos and videos. Woolacombe tends to be more crowded, and there is a range of shops offering buckets 🪣 spades and dinghies, but if, like I, you come well prepared, then the white surf 🏄‍♂️ the soft golden sand the absence of beach goers with their antisocial music, are a real treat and a recipe for relaxation.

This is our favourite beach in Devon. Big, beautiful and bit of a challenge to get to! The Cafe is great too and rocks on the beach add an extra element!

IMHO the best beach ever, but very expensive. The car park has great loos and the facilities are looked after, but find it hard to justify the pricing. Other nearby beaches like Saunton have a time based tariff which works out better for those going for a surf or dog walking.

Very nice beach, lots of space. Extortionate parking though. £8.50 regardless of length of stay. So even if you want to just have a look for 10 minutes, it's £8.50. and the roads to get there are treacherous. Worth it for the lovely beach though

A beautiful beach, one of the nicest in Devon. Car parking is inflexible and very expensive if you just want to come down for the afternoon. But the toilets are nice, the food concession is good and it's clear money does get invested in facilities. Avoid Bank Holidays...

A really well curated museum. It's not very big but it has a ton of history and it gives an inside about how surfing began in the UK and what it was like.

Even for those that don't surf, there is a lot of interesting history about surfing here. The entrance fee is an absolute bargain for what can be over an hour of education. The development of surf boards over the last century is intriguing. From coffin lid surf boards, to ultra modern triple fin composite boards, belly boards and long boards, there is a lot to see. Every exhibit has a story. Thanks to the guys that keep this place going and who gave time to showing me around and answering all my questions (me being total novice). Recommended. I might even have a go at surfing!

Theres not much you can buy for £2 in the area. I would suggest, whether you are into surfing or not, to spend that money getting into this museum. Took my 10 year old in and he absolutely loved it. Full of history, loads of fascinating facts and a beautiful display of boards through the ages. The antithesis of the local museum!

Epic tiny museum that is a must for all to visit. We had a blast and the guy that works there is super kind, we lobed our visit and our dog was allowed in as he was small bit normally dogs are not allowed. It has amazing displays and I highly recommend it for Amy surfer.

Fantastic... Bought back many memories of my growing up years surfing in the late 60's and 70's. I was 16 all over again! 🤘. A thorough and proper walk through of the U.K history of surfing all under one roof manned by volunteers. I came away reflecting and carrying a signed copy of "Surf Sweat and Tears" by Andy Martin of the Life and mysterious Death of Ted Deerhurst who I had met along the journey of my surfing passion. Thank You 🏄‍♂️

This is a must see for anyone with an interest in surfing no matter how remote. The guys in there really do know their stuff and the exhibits are phenomenal absolute quality finds and it's cheap to get in charity run so well worth supporting. I aim to go back everytime I go on holiday.

A great place to learn about the evolution of British surfing.

Crow Point is a perfect place for a quiet walk on the beach. The views are stunning on sunny and winter days alike. I especially like it because its far away from the touristy areas so is somewhat unspoilt and rarely busy.

A lovely place to take your dog or children to. Plenty to keep both amused and wide open spaces on the beach. Accessed by a toll road (£2.50) with a electronic barrier with quite a few speed bumps and passing places before you reach the large parking area which is gravel and can be a bit muddy after prolonged rain. Parts of the area are Army training grounds but are still accessible. There are expansive views up river to Barnstaple and across to Instow and Appledore and out to sea. No toilets or places to get refreshments so you’ll need to make sure you have everything you need for the day. There’s a lot of driftwood on the beach for children to make camps and shelters and the odd shipwreck to play with. On a warm summer’s day it’s a lovely place to spend some time walking in the dunes but be aware that there are Adders and it’s best to keep your pet close by as it’s a slow drive to the nearest vet in Braunton.

We had such a lovely walk along here, in our opinion it was a bit more interesting than just walking along any other beach.

Crow point is a lovely stretch of coastline. There's a toll road that you need £2 in coins. The car park is a bit rough but right next to the beach and dunes. You can see across the estuary to Appledore and its a great spot for watersports as well as a family day out, although im not sure the water is good enough for swimming in. Dogs are allowed all year. You can walk to saunton beach, about 3 and a half miles. It's just beautiful.

£2 charged on entry but this is ridicuously cheap for a day out. Walks for miles. No toilet or cafe so if you are making a day of it take your own bits. Very easy to distance yourself from everyone as there is so much space. Dogs are often off lead. Accessibility may be an issue however these is a bench with a view in the carpark if you fancy sitting with a book. There are also dirt roads amongst the green areas before the dunes. Lovely sandy area over the dunes and around the corner from carpark. Great view of Appledore!

Lovely staff and place. A bit of history of the area.

The museum is fascinating, full of interesting artefacts. But what struck me the most were the wonderful volunteer staff...they love the work they do and couldn't be more helpful and charming. The young man is an outstanding source of information about Braunton Burrows and obviously spends a lot of free time there exploring the place. He is also very knowledgeable about the way soldiers trained on the Burrows in readiness for invading Europe. I only popped in to buy a map but the visit turned out to be one of the highlights of the day!

Some people travel hundreds of miles just to witness the magnitude of the model railway setup that this museum has to offer. The breathtaking journey back in time is more than worth the astronomically high parking fees of the local carpark just across the roundabout. But I'd say that it is worth it. My life is now complete... I can die with a smile on my face, and the memories in my head.

A small free voluntary run countryside museum staff lovely and helpful 4 kids with us enjoyed the interactive displays grandson age 6 took in 2 small crabs he had found to look at under the microscope, they have plenty of articles to look at under microscope, they also enjoyed colouring in nature pictures.

A real local museum, full of interest and a large working model railway of the village.

Absolutely fantastic for kids and grownups. Was blown away by the amount of information and the microscope is great kept the kids entertained for ages looking at feathers in detail and shells etc all displayed on a large flat screen TV plus thats free to use. Useful local knowledge of the area. Must visit when in Braunton

Great experience, exhibits of local wildlife, sealife, flora and fauna were well presented and easy to read and understand. We went to an evening film showing of Lundy Island, everyone was very friendly, helpful and informative. Please visit as they are self funded and need and deserve all the help they can get, footfall or donations.

Not only do they have a wide range of information about wildlife linked to the local area inside, they also hold talks on wildlife, and walks from the centre in the summer. It's a pleasant modern build, run by knowledgeable people with a passion for nature. Go to there website and see what's on!

We just popped in to see what it was like and ended up staying for over an hour with my 3 and 5 year olds! They didn't want to leave. There is loads to do, all of which is very interactive. Staff are very welcoming and very knowledgeable too.

I love bringing the kids here. Always something new to learn about the local area and the staff are always friendly and knowledgeable

Nice place displays about country side, clean & tidy. Good for young kids for a while. Just opposite the Museum so easy to find.

A sweet little wood, not a long walk around but I imagine plenty long enough if with children. Wonderfully quiet, has the ruins of a chapel and lots of stumps and fallen trees to picnic on. The path does a loop around the reserve, it's easy enough to begin with and then becomes a little steep, climbing a small hill but it is a proper path with steps. Seasoned hikers should have no problem! Parking is on the road and the road to get there is narrow and windy - definitely drive slow.

Yet another great rspb reserve this one's a lovely little woodland setting with some lovely wildlife and great views. It is set on quite a steep hill with quite a climb to the top . But still a great past to pass a couple of hours

Lovely little woodland reserve tucked out of the way. Great for those interested in birds as there are plenty to see there including great spotted woodpeckers which I was fortunate to see a couple of times! Parking can be a little tricky as there are only a few spaces but well worth a visit!

So peaceful. Perfect to take the dogs. Plenty of wildlife and the ruins of a Chapel.

I've been coming here since a child & it still doesn't loose it's beautiful magic! Lovely walk up over the old 'fort & back round'. Pathways are well maintained. The spring & chapel ruins are also well looked after. Good for all ages. Lots of plants, trees & wild life to see. Beautiful place which holds lots of fond memories.

This was ours and the dog's refuge from the 30+ degree heat last August, when staying in the caravan was unbearable from 10.30am. Ice cold water wells up from the spring by the chapel.
