It’s ok. Actually a very busy beach so if you’re into that then it might be the right place for you. What’s great is the dunes sitting in the background. If you climb up you’ll get a very picturesque view of the beach! Also the rocks on the left side of the beach is a cool spot to check out !

People are very nice and the beach is beautiful. Water is clean but sometimes the waves are strong. Plenty of gift shops and a few places to eat. You can enjoy and relax here for hours and not notice how long it's been.

Nice beach with breathtaking views, clear and clean water but it has big waves (perfect for surfers) anyway you can get into the water with extreme caution (I wouldn’t recommend it for children).

A top beach in Floripa, just beautiful

Joaquina Beach was one of the most beautiful beaches I have seen it in Florianópolis! The sea was at the best temperature, with perfect waves, and the colour of the water was unbelievable! The coolest part was the excellent restaurants around serving the best drinks in the sandy or the restaurant! You won't regret visiting! Don't forget your sun protector!

My favourite beach in floripa. A super place to surf. It has some small rocks on the left side of the beach, a great place to watch the surfers. Good parking and the sand is super. And the restaurants i have tryed is good.

Neighborhood of Selina Florianopolis just across the street. It's a decent beach with space. Small, nothing particularly special about it. It's like season right now so maybe there will be more activity during high season which I hear starts in November and December. It's an okay but not absolutely must see beach. Clean though.

Beautiful beach, I’ve been here multiple times - as all beaches in Florianopolis it is always windy! I have been to this beach maybe 10 times and there was one occasion where it wasn’t windy. With that being said the trails and vibe of the beach really do make it special - it’s quite a gypsy beach (if you like that kind of thing) and there is always waves so for surfing it’s good (swimming not so much)

Absolutely splendid place! I spent my honeymoon there and I had the best time of my life. Lots of activities, super chill vibe and safe. You can go scuba diving on the little island in the horizon I've met so many nice people there and there's a big lgbt and hippie community, which is where the fun is at. No matter how you look like, you'll feel included. There's also professional surfers and fishermen as well , all sorts of cool people. Let's not forget how AMAZING the fish is at the little food place on the beach Absolutely recommend it

Top 3 beach in Floripa

If you are in Floripa a visit to this Island is a must. It is absolutely stunning. You can access it from a few places but we chose to get a boat from Campeche Beach (10 minutes). Tip - get their early as people queue from 8am because they only allow limited numbers on the Island.

A beautiful island with calm but freezing water. If you go on the weekend, there are many boats obstructing the view of the ocean. Nonetheless, the island feels calm and relaxed. We (foreigners) were told it costs 300 reais per person round trip to the island. When we said we don't have that much cash, they lowered it to 200 reais per person (Feb 2022). Still expensive based on other comments here, but I guess that's the price you pay for not being brazilian.

Beautiful beautiful beautiful beach. Superb views when you are in the blue bridge looking down. A cute giant turtle 🐢 statue that is actually life size they can be 4x the size of a human being. Lots of rocks and activities happening in ybjd town, come here to watch dor an hour and walk or relax for a couple.

From the beaches in Florianópolis, this is surely the most commercial one, it has nothing special and pales in a comparison with its neighbors, especially Santinho.

Really nice beach but it can get quite busy (for good reason!) If you come in high season, be prepared to fight for a space, but in October, there was plenty of space and the weather was perfect for it!

It is a complete stunning adventure to go to the edges of the beach, this is one of the largest on the island, highly recomended.

Located in the Mercado, this place serves delicious seafood; however, their prices are a little steep but the service is impeccable. I'd highly recommend their oyster sampler with a dozen oysters cooked in 4 different styles.

Great atmosphere and we had the most amazing waiter who made our stay enjoyable. The food was quite good but not amazing. Expect to pay a reasonable amount just because it's a tourist hotspot.

Definitely not good value for money. Too expensive for small portions. You even have to pay to use the bathroom 🤷‍♂️

Best beer staff and truly the best lobster I have ever eaten. Don't forget to try the shrimp pastel, they are to die for. The owner is so humble and makes sure everything is perfect. The space is small bit well worth the wait. This is a not to miss place to eat.

Great place for seafood near a row of fish mongers. Saint Bier on tap and good selection of wines and liquor at the bar. Service was very attentive. Food was well prepared and the seagood cooked just right. Quite expensive by LOCAL standards but a great deal by what I would pay back in the US.

Excellent beach. It has no structure or buildings. Very natural. The difficult access makes it harder to be overcrowded, but it's definitely worth it. The sea and the lagoon is amazing, and you can even swim with the fish. Be sure to be in great shape. Don't leave your trash behind.

I believe this is the most secluded beach I’ve ever been. To get there you have 2 options. First, you go to Armação beach then cross the river if low tide or the bridge to go to Matadeiro beach. Once you arrive in matadeiro walk to the very end and you will find a track that leads you to Lagoinha. Take plenty of water and food because it’s a long hike, approximately 2 hours. Second option is to take a bus from armação to Pântano do Sul and there is another track that leads you to Lagoinha do Leste Beach which is much shorter, around an hour hiking.

Best hike to the best secret beach in Flori

One hour walk from the main road, long bus ride there or relatively cheap uber (we paid 60 reales). A few restaurants on the beach and probably another 45 minutes up to the top lookout

This beach is like a hidden paradise. You can only access it by boat or on foot. There are 2 trail options: the shortest trail starts at Pântano do Sul but it’s VERY steep - you’ll basically be going up nature’s steps for 35 minutes in a closed up forest and then down for 25 more. Be physically prepared! The other one starts at Praia da Armação and is much longer - 2.5 hours in total but it is lighter and it has wonderful views as half of it is open aired (bring lots of water and sun block though!!). Reaching the beach is absolutely rewarding. It is by far on of the most beautiful, peaceful beaches I’ve ever been to.

The best and the absolute best! I would recommend start in Armaçao and end in Pãntano do Sul. Take the less used route for Pãntano do Sul which is first to climb the top and then merge with the obvious more famous trail. Figuring it out that's half the fun!

I rested here in June, when there is almost no one on the beach and I felt very good here. I enjoyed beautiful sunsets and fresh air every day.

Beautiful beach with a good sand-strip size. It is the first beach I have visited in Florianopolis and I consider the top 3 beach on the city. It's quite interesting, there's some preserved ancient painting spots carved on the stones (back to the Stone Age) and you can visit, take photos and it's all free. Nice beach with trail places (if you have some time to do)

It wasn't a quiet place, there wasn't much variety of restaurants and the prices for renting chairs and umbrellas were relatively high.

Really nice beach, quiet and peaceful yet with service. We were able to buy food, sunglasses, shirts and hats! If you forgot to bring anything, be sure to at least bring your wallet or purse that way you can buy it at the beach. lol

It's a great place to visit if you are traveling with kids. Check the times that they'll feed and release the turtles in the beach, but be sure to be there 10-15 minutes prior to start to get a good spot. Be careful when going to the beach to see the release of the turtles, people will push you. We were expecting more of this place because of the reviews, but it was still a nice place to visit as a one time thing.

It was really nice visiting the project and learning more about the turtles. Insightful class given by the biologist, very informative! We gained awareness as how we, as a society, can contribute to a better world. Highly recommend!

They release these turtles every Sunday at 3 pm. It gets crowded so plan to get there early. I give a 4 star since they don’t explain anything in English.

This is a place that everyone should go to. Especially if you're traveling with kids. Their work educating people about how to use environmental resources is very important. It gives you something to think about. The most interesting part of the project is that we can see the results in our society! It is really impressive! There you can see four of the five turtle species that are found in Brazil. There is always someone who can answer your questions about turtles!

Turtle Sanctuary!! Really interesting information about native turtles to Brazil. The foundation explains what they do to help and the behaviour and life of these turtles. Nice shop and staff also and a lovely bathroom.

Great place that helps restore injured turtles back into the ocean. If you're lucky you might have the chance to see a turtle release into the nearby sea. Overall it's worth a visit, but it would be nice if the organization could have more English translations for non Portuguese speakers.

Did you know sea turtles can be 3x the size of a human! Amazing facts learned here and there is a 32 and 18 year old here. Watch the videos they slap the pool walls when they are hungry! Great place for kids and money goes to a good cause. Cost is 28 reales or a about 6 us dollars. Great way to spend a nice hour and a half.

Well-organized venue where you get to see up close 4 of the 5 sea turtle species found in Brazil. Although small in size, expect to spend ~1 hour at Tamar, there are tours and activities throughout the day. Tickets are fairly priced at R$ 28.

Very crowded in high season, however if you stay here overnight and get out on the beach on the extremities of the day it is a whole different experience. Beautiful sunrise and moonrise. The place is nearly deserted. Better yet come off season for a relaxing time.

Beautiful Beach. It is not tourist season currently so it is quiet. A great place to take a walk and meditate. The sand is like powdered sugar and the winds aren't too chilly near mid-day. Unfortunately, we came across a dead sea turtle during our stroll the other day. Please be sure not to litter on the beach. These poor creatures mistake the trash for food and meet an untimely demise.

Beach with short sand bank to stay on, but with dunes to walk before you access it. It was ok waves for surfing and at the end of October, it was not crowded.

Picture perfect, one of the best beaches in Floripa. Start of the beach was quite busy (February) but we only had to walk for a few minutes and had the beach to ourselves :)

It doesn't get much better than this. I'll admit I'm biased because I live 5 minutes from the beach walking, but of all the beaches have been to around the island this one is seriously sensational. just like anywhere on the island, expected to be much more crowded in summer
