Nice Sunny warm May day. I had never been so when I finished a work project early, I thought I'd pop down for a couple of hours. Loved the location But £14.50 for a crab sandwich, my favourite, was a sandwich too far.

Lovely working harbour with lots to see, cafes & restaurants to visit and art and craft shops to peruse. Surfers can be seen at harbour entrance and short jetty to explore (if waves are not crashing over it). There are a large number of dogs on the coast path and in the town, and the only negative is that some of the owners do not clear up after them.

Beautiful, quintessential fishing village with plenty of amenities for the tourist.Stroll along either side of the harbour to admire the views.

Visited Porthleven on a beautiful hot day. Abundance of shops in picturesque village and superb harbour which takes your breath away. Please visit these lovely surroundings

Arrived at Pothleven after a lovely walk from Penrose joining the newly opened bridal/walking path. Beautiful, picturesque harbour with plenty of gift shops and a wide selection of cafe's/restaurants.

What a fabulous location. We parked our motorhome in Kitties Field carpark right by the harbour. There are lots of independent shops with a variety of restaurants to choose from if you want to eat there. You can walk along both sides of the harbour. As you look at it take the left side and you can walk right to the end of the harbour wall where you get panoramic views. The road off also takes you to the beaches. A short walk along the right side takes you up the hill to the coastal path, we walked along here to a monument. Along here you get stunning views. We will be back to visit again.

We saw this beautiful little place from the bus en route Falmouth and decided to come and visit later. We certainly weren't disappointed at all. What a quaint little harbour and scenery with a good range of shops. Had a lovely meal at The Harbour Inn.

Ooo! Way more exciting than I anticipated. This is what happens when you park alongside the harbour wall as the height of a Spring tide and storm Kathleen bring the wild Atlantic crashing in. Fortunately the car survived, (mostly.) And despite calf-deep rushing seawater, we too were ok, (thank you Coastguards.) This is a great place to spend a few days, even without storms. Theres a decent variety of excellent places to eat. Good ale (and pub food) at the Harbour Inn. Shops and galleries to browse. The beach and the ever ever-changing harbour with the Atlantic seascape beyond. That's my car in the pictures, swamped.

Nice place for a walk, nice local shops and cafes along the way. Abit busy with cars going though which is a shame but can't be helped. Medium size car park not far. Wouldn't recommend when bad weather.

Absolutely beautiful views. Lovely to walk around both sides of the harbour, easy walk. The boats look lovely inside the harbour and great for photography. Lots of nice shops around too and different cafes looking out onto the harbour.

Beautiful traditional Cornish fishing harbour, a great spot for a bit of lunch with lovely views. There is a car park as you arrive on the right up a small hill, but it’s not that big and you may struggle for a space, but worth it if you can park up and explore. A few stalls around the harbour wall. Dan Dan the lobster man at the end of the harbour was amazing…lobster, crab , king prawn…and a lovely pint of cider

One of my favourite places in the world. Especially when it's stormy or it's food fest! Beautiful any day. I live watching the fish swimming in the harbour. There's always good food and loads of art. I love this place so much.

A beautiful peaceful walk with stunning scenery. From Penrose carpark to the beach and around the lake back to the carpark. The return journey along the lake pathways is very muddy in winter and you do need waterproof walking shoes or wellies as mud can be quite thick in places. One of the best walks we've done so far

Absolutely amazing place. Gorgeous walk. Amazing views. Even tho there was an illegal rave going on at the time. Done a nice circular walk from Top Car Park in Porthleven towards Loe Bar and then upto Stables and back to Porthleven. Easy to follow Blue/Yellow walking routes.

A beautiful unspoilt area,free if any commercial activity. Accessed by foot from Highburrow or the Coast Path. But swimming,fishing etc are strongly discouraged due to unpredictable tidal activity.

One of the best walks we've found in Cornwall. Safe for dogs, and children; stunning scenery. Easy, mostly flat walk.

If there was any way to give more than five stars we would! Ian/Vertical Blue were brilliant and totally lived up to the reviews on here. We went to try our first experience of kayaking with two nervous children, from the moment we arrived Ian was brilliant. Both our children said he was an excellent teacher and really helped to put them at ease. From start to finish this was a great experience, so good that we went again the next day! Ian is well stocked with equipment to hire for novices like us. The children fully recommend the waffles at the cafe too! Thank you Ian for a great experience 😀🛶

Me and my girlfriend had an amazing experience with Ian. It was our first time on a paddle board and he explained everything clearly and more importantly in a fun and engaging way, and had us out on the water quickly learning skills and having a great time. Amazing experience and surroundings, fantastic value for money. Could not recommend more！

Ian is a brilliant instructor and our boys had so much fun on their first paddle board lesson. He really put them at ease while also encouraging them to have a go at everything he taught. Highly recommend this activity. Excellent.

I booked a SUP taster with my 2 kids (8 and 11) and we had an absolute blast. All the kit we needed was included in the price and was really good quality. Dan took us out for our session in the harbour having never done this before he was an excellent instructor especially with the kids, endless patience and kept it real fun. We were out for over an hour with no rush to get us in even taking us out into the more open water to hone our skills and practice falling off some more!! Really couldn’t recommend these guys more. Can’t wait to do some more.

My family enjoyed a great morning kayak out (1 double and 2 single kayaks) along the coast. The trip was great fun, made better by lovely weather, and really informative too... we all agreed we'd love to go again. Thanks so much Ian and team. See you soon 🙂

A brilliant kayaking experience in proper sea kayaks. We were in a small group with another couple, an ideal size. The sea was rough but Ian knew a great stretch on the east of The Lizard which was sheltered. We were expertly guided through some narrow rock pool sections, which great fun. Ian gave an interesting commentary about the history and geology of the coastline. On the return leg he also managed to find a spiny starfish and spider crab for us get a close look at. Friendly and well organised, I can't recommend Ian at Vertical Blue highly enough.

First time kayaking but definately won’t be the last! Ian was such a great host and teacher. The reviews on here just scratch the surface; Ian really does make it interesting and his wealth of knowledge really shines, not just vast local knowledge but world knowledge! It’s clear he’s a well travelled man! You can ask him pretty much any question (and I did!) and he’ll know the answer! If you have any anxieties, (and I did! But my worries were unfounded; there were NO sharks!) Ian will put you at ease! I had such a fun day I can’t recommend it enough! We even managed lunch on a private beach, only accessible by sea, got up close and inside a pirates stashing cave and even squeezed in a little sprint race, which I lost (even with a head start!). So to conclude; outstanding, amazing and a fantastic way to spend some quality time on your holiday! Thanks Ian, keep up the great work and see you again next time but this time i’ll bring the wife and kids too!

Had a great full day paddle with Ian up the coast from Kennack Sands to Lizard Point. Fantastic coast with arches, caves, white sands, seals, starfish and more. Great gear, and Ian is an excellent and knowledgeable guide. Want to go again.

Our boys had an amazing time today with Ian teaching them paddle boarding in the harbour. He was a great teacher who was very generous with his time. Thanks so much Ian and Blake. The boys already want to go back and maybe next time try coasteering!

2 days of great fun. If you want to explore Cornwall from a completely different angle this is the place, with a great tour guide of some unique coasts.

Worth browsing around this store as there are many interesting items but like me you may not buy anything.

The ambience in the gallery is great and there are one or two decent pieces of art and trinkets for sale. But then this is a case of horses for courses, I didn't like it....but my wife loved it.

Owner was unhelpful and rude , more interested in her phone than the customers.

Beautiful photography. We were lucky enough to visit the shop yesterday and were in awe of all of the work within the gallery. We came away with a beautiful shot of our beloved Porthcurno but could easily have spent a great deal more! It was wonderful to meet the man behind the talent! Will certainly be back!

We were looking for an image for our home and remembered Waves. Such lovely and amazing photos of some of our favourite local beaches with incredible wave action. Mike Lacy is a very talented photographer.

Mike Lacey's photography and artwork is absolutely stunning. Some amazing pictures for sale. Many showing the wonderful Cornish beaches at their very best. Everyone at the gallery is very friendly and helpful. Prices are fine for these beautiful pieces of artwork. Do visit the gallery and be amazed as we were.

On an amazing holiday to Cornwall, went to Portleven and bought another magnificent photo from Mike Lacey along with his new book. We look at it every day with the vivid colours and great detail takes you back to Cornwall in an instance. Complements the pre-existing ones we already had beautifully. Maybe another one next year ? Probably ! 😁

I ordered a print for a special birthday for a colleague at work, I was on holiday at at the time. Laura was so helpful and took care of everything, she sent links for payment to ensure I got exactly what I wanted. The print was posted to arrive at home at the end of my holiday when I was available to collect.

Bought Dreamland pic yesterday Absolutely stunning when hung, soooo pleased with it. Also the lady in the shop was extremely helpful. !!!

My wife and I visit Porthleven once a year and never fail to pop in and see the fabulous photography at Waves. This year we felt we couldn't leave empty handed and picked out three lovely photos. Thanks again!

Love Mike Lacey's art. Have the Heart of Cornwall on the our walk just stunning. He takes great pictures and the place really does showcase his work well. Very much recommend the place.

Small intimate seafood restaurant. Lovely friendly personal service. Large portions of seafood at a very reasonable price. We were brought an amuse bouche and the water for the table was flavoured with cucumber, which was a lovely touch. We had the black pepper squid rings which were delicious. Then for mains I had the John Dory which was cooked perfectly and accompanied by a large slice of Dauphoinause potatoes and some herby seasonal veg and a fantastic champagne sauce. The monkfish and risotto was also very tasty and moist and again a very generous portion. For a small intimate restaurant this felt warm and welcoming and they delivered on taste and service

Excellent food and service. We were slightly tricky diners with me being pregnant and my fiancée being vegan, but the chef was more than happy to adapt recipes and cater to our needs. Delicious and highly recommend visiting if you are in / near Porthleven!

Absolutely stunning food - simple but delicious. I recommend the brownie and pavlova desserts, they were fantastic. Staff lovely too - a real gem.

Couldn't get in here the last time we visited so made sure we booked well in advance for our next visit to Porthleven. After eating here, it is clear to see why you have to pre book. Every course was cook to perfection and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable about what was on the menu. I'd highly recommend the champagne sauce with any of the fish amd the pavlova for dessert. We will be booking here again for our visit next year.

Friendly and knowledgeable owners and staff, stocking an excellent selection of artists work. A great place to visit if you are looking for your first piece, to add to a collection, or simply to finish off a room. The gallery uses 'Own Art' which makes art accessible for many; I got my first piece from here while still in part-time education and working in a shop.

I've had several pieces of artwork and certificates framed at the Customs House Gallery, the quality of the work has always been excellent and very fair value.

Absolutely over the moon! Having made my own jewellery in previous visits to Porthleven I knew there was only only place to go to for the challenge of making my non-traditional eternity ring. Clair and Paul were fantastic in guiding me on what design of ring to suit my existing rings and had the perfect Teal Sapphire stone to match. We made our wedding rings at the workshop (we made each others) which was a special experience by sand casting our rings.
