Came back to Con Dao one last time.... no alternative but to go out with this guy, I never told him i spent two weeks diving here with Larry. The stuff he tried to out over on me was shocking because i knew the real truth, the only real news is...Gordon is now catching and keeping in captivity local sharks for some rich Vietnamese guy the rich dude with the big boat in the harbor. I guess It pays for his beer. Diving on Con Dao has essentially ended, as it has in all of accessible Vietnam. I have been diving in Asia, including Vietnam for over 15 years, and when Larry opened Dive ! Dive! Dive! some ten years ago, Con Dao had a dive operator worthy of the destination The 2 other dive shops with the money and common sense packed up and left as the environment was destroyed by greedy locals, and a corrupt government rather then sell an inferior product at an outrageous price. Gordon, is as I understood through his alcohol induced haze, told me how he has wives and kids in 3 countries, including here in Vietnam, and his choices of refuge are limited. He claims to be quite the big man, so you would expect him be taking care of his native South Africa. He talks for too much B.S. to survivie in Thailand. (Wife #2) wife number 3 wants nothing to do with him...Sad to say this is all there is to say about diving ion Con Dao, watching Gordon slowly sinking.

We did not dive for 5+ years, so we had a refreshment moment, a dive and another fun dive. We saw cuttlefish! Phong, the instructor is very kind and I felt very comfortable and secure.

Very Nice snorkeling experience. We booked through six senses hotel and enjoyed the diving spot, located 30 min from Con Dao main island. Gordon was nice and friendly, the boat was a traditional fishing boat, more "authentic" than the usual speed boats - in all senses and the equipment were all fine! I would really recommend to anybody on the island to spend half day either diving or snorkeling, it's really worth it, seabed won't disappoint 😊😉

Pham, Danny and their family and team are just amazing. Very experienced, highly professional and super friendly. We went scuba diving with them for 5 days and still saw new things at the different sites. Loved it and hope to be back!! ♥️

It is expensive but it is worth it. The team is fantastic and treated us very well. The coral reef amazing! I would repeat for sure

Can't really rate them - we wanted to dive in October 2022, and were told that they currently only offer snorkeling until February 2023. Too bad to learn that after travelling here especially for diving.

We had 4 great dives with Phong during our time in Con Dao. On the first day the winds were to strong to allow boats to leave the harbor but the team accommodated for this and we completed shore dives On the second day we went to a dive site on a speed boat Phang was a great dive master, taking the time to ensure we were comfortable and spent time to point out lots of marine life to ensure we didn't miss anything

This was one of the best things I did in Southeast Asia. The island is amazing, and I 100% will be coming back. I booked my dives very last minute, and Con Dao dive center was very prompt in their response, and got a dive scheduled right away. The gear that we used was all in really good condition. Danny was very knowledgeable, and really made it a great experience. I will definitely do it again.

Very nice team! 2 dives with them from a boat at 2 different spots. The 2 dive masters were super professional, patient and the safety is taken seriously. The equipment was also good. The coral reef at Con Dao is vivid and full of life. It was a pleasure to dive there.

I did the Snorkeling Tour 🤿 We went to two different spots with the boat and had more than enough time to enjoy the overwhelming underwater world of Con Dao. I‘ve never seen so many different fishes and corals in so many colours and shapes. Definitely would recommend it to anyone who‘s visiting Con Dao :) Phong was very kind and told us interesting facts about the underwater world. Only not so good point was, that we had to pay in cash (which is quite a lot for this amount of money)

We had 6 wonderful dives, great team, amazing care and beautiful divesides. Phong isn't only an excellent dive instructor, he also shows you the small wonders under the surface. They also offering snorkeling tours. We'd like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

I truly enjoying going a diving trip with them. Phong was very friendly, knowledgeable and kind. The entire process, from talking o. Whatsapp, providing additional info in person and the trip itself went very smooth. Highly recommend them.

We had a very bad experience with the staff. We were quoted a price for diving, and when we went to leave, to talk to the other shops, the man who runs the shop said " When you come back, the price will be higher" Needless to say, we did not come back ! We were thrilled with our other choice, just around the corner. Dove with them for 3 days.

This island is absolutely amazing. I stayed on the island for 5 days and loved every second of it. It’s amazing how not touristy this island is. I hope it stays that way for long time to come. The only reason I’m deducting a star is that there is so much trash on this island. Me and my boyfriend were trying to find some hidden beaches and when we got there we got so sad as the whole beach and path leading to there were covered with trash. I really hope that the people who live of this island get educated more about the side effects of doing this.

Amazing island but is heartbreaking to see how the locals and turist don't take care of it and is full of garbage everywhere, fishermans and locals throwing garbage at the sea the whole time.

Beaches were beautiful, clear water. The history of the island was really interesting too. I recommended try the coconut ice cream.

The best place you can enjoy many adventurous sports such as: scuba diving, freediving, trekking, camping. You should go there from Mar-Sept. Enjoy

Con Dao Islands, also known as Con Dao National park, are an archipelago of 16 mostly uninhabited islets just off the southern coast of Vietnam, each of which offering expansive beaches shaded with evergreen trees. Great for savvy travellers looking to escape bustling city life, the main island also boasts miles of coastal roads, hiking trails and a wide range of outdoor activities. The main (and only inhabited) island, Con Son was once the site of French-run prisons for Vietnamese involved in the independence movement. Most of the derelict prisons are located in Con Son Town, where you can visit the prison cells, and infamous tiger cages. Many locals visit Con Son to pay their respects to revolutionaries such as Vo Thi Sau, the first women on the island to have been executed by the French.

Geogous place with lovely road, all the read along the beaches are geogous. You can aslo book the boat to other island surround the main island and by night you can book tour to turtle island and if you' re lucky you can see turtle baby

Still rather undeveloped, the accommodations are limited to few hotels and home stays. Restaurant service is under average. Great place for backpacks and the more adventure tourists. For the typical tourist the only decent place to stay is the resort which is very pricey. The beaches are still clean and not overcrowded but can be ranked as average, nothing exceptional about them. The diving and snorkeling is also very average. If you are expecting an exceptional experience you may be disappointed. If you just want a place to relax then it may suit your needs. The most disadvantage here as tourist destination is how to get here. The boat ride is too long (4hr from Vung Tau or 2.5hr from Soc Trang, both are inconvenient from Saigon). The plane ride is only by small prop airplanes which could be bumpy at times. The government also plays up the relics of the former prison as an attraction, but it only has limited effect, mostly for local Vietnamese. There is a superstition following cult believing in some dead prisoners. They gathered as crowds every night about midnight at the tombstone of a young girl believing she has power to grant fortunes to those who worship her. It’s quite a scene to watch.

Beautiful island and hopefully it’s not ready for mass tourism. Also the island has a sad past, but you can see in the museum and the historical places what exactly happened. So it’s not just a paradise, i mean it’s now, but it’s good to know about the history.

If you have limited time, you can go this shedule. On 1st day when you arrive, go to museum straight and get tickets to visit all famaous prisons. At night, you visit cemetery of Vo thy sau. On 2nd day, you can go Tre dam lagoon. Thats big walk. On the way back to town, you can visit 2 temples. On 3rd day, you go to natinal park walk. On 4th day, you can visit sea port before u take flight or ferry. Minimum 3nights 4 days to cover all places.I recommend to get helicopter from Vung Tau. Once u get island, better to rent a bike.You dont need to visit beaches here. Its so dirty, anyway but you can go to other interesting places.
