A very well kept palace worth taking the time to visit. Lots of local tourists, too. The architecture is amazing. Lots of photo ops. The rose garden was in bloom and we could admire it from afar. The upper sections will attract viewers who have to walk through barefooted. Security checks at entrance and bags have to be screened. The personnel handled the crowds well. On Sundays and public holidays the palace is lit up spectacularly from 7pm to 8pm making for good photo-op.

The palace is really nice. Recommended tourist spot. They maintained without fading the ancient touch. All are properly maintained. They restricted rooms, places to visit in the palace yet properly guided. The photographs or paintings are explained along with them in the wall. Ticket fare is 100 for adults and 50 for children.

Beautiful palace, but built in collaboration with Britishers. And now the access is very limited. Earlier when i visited back in 2015, there were lot to see. Now lots of restrictions inside palace. On weekends and holidays, the palace will be lit with thousands of lights (from 7pm to 8pm) to give it a golden look.

Amazing place to visit, we had the luxury to visit at the time when there was minimum crowd so clicking pics was fun and easy. Palace itself is mesmerizing with such a view and space, there are plenty of space around palace too for taking leisure walks. Inside of palace is also very nice, the condition it is in well preserved and all items are stored very safely. Only if they could've added a small brief on the items we are seeing would've been cherry on the cake.

It is a museum, so if you are interested in historical things, you can go for it. Also this place is huge, and I loved most the interior design and crafts. A great place for photos too. In any case, it's worth a visit. There is a ticket to go inside the museum like inside the palace but you can roam freely and click photos, without tickets as the place is huge .

A beautiful and well maintained zoo. A huge zoo with varieties of species. Carry your own mask to avoid extra ₹10 per mask. The direct view is unforgettable. Cameras cannot justify the view or pleasure of watching them with your own eyes. Hats off to Mysore govt officials.

It's always good to visit this zoo with good varieties of animals and birds. New animals are also filling the place as the old ones are expiring. Maintenance has increased tremendously with good focus on customer experience and safety. Glass barricades are a good addition but it has to be cleaned occasionally. Feels that animals are well maintained with good flow of adoptions in the recent days. No special value for animal adopters (which is seen in other zoos). Even a small gesture like a returnable ID card would also attract more people. Even adoption boards for less than 20k amount are not put. Parking space, entrance and other amenities are increasing day by day, which attracts more and more tourists. Overall, a fine place for 2 to 3 hours of time.

Wonderful experience especially if you are with kids. The animals look healthy and well taken care of though in captivity. However, the enclosures are big and give the animals a lot of space to move about. The electronic buggy shuttles make it easier to see the entire place for those who may have knee problems or maybe tired.

The Mysuru Zoo is one of the cleanest ones you'll see in the country. The animals are always seen in a hygienic environ. And you have a large variety of them including Gorillas and Giraffes which are hard to find in most zoos. Children will have a memorable time although the zoo lacks a safari ride. They have golf Cart rides but these have long wait times so that part needs to be maintained better. Walking through it'll take at least 2 hours so please plan that much time.

The entrance ticket is affordable too and the zoo has a complete biological ecosystem and covered with bio diversified environment with varities of unique plants and trees. However, we did end up enjoying every bit of the 3 hours spent in the zoo. The variety of animals and bird species with details of each mentioned in a visible and informative way, was quite good. The place is well maintained with all facilities/amenities available. Total walking distance is around 4km. You can opt for an electric buggy if you cannot walk (extra Rs. 200 per person) They have a restaurant somewhere mid-way through the zoo. Food, snacks and Beverages are available. Quality and price is decent. Recommended to visit in the morning, as it gets quite hot in the afternoon and also must animals go inside the shelter or are inactive post noon. Overall a must visit for people of all ages visiting Mysore.

The one zoo I love going back several times since I was a kid, with my friends and now with my kids. Everytime it was fun experience. It was a long walk but the canopy of trees helped us to energize. Better to go early to avoid sun. Also carts are available for people who can't walk much. Overall enjoyable experience for everyone. Plastics are not allowed. There is paid parking available on the opposite side of the main entrance and an underground passage will take you directly inside the zoo. Entry charges are Rs. 100 per head. It takes around 2 hours to cover the entire zoo on foot and requires a walk of around 2.5-3 km. Use the signboards and maps placed on the walkway to make sure you don't miss any section. Zoo premises are well maintained and there are several birds/animals present. For kids, it would be a treat to the eyes. I would recommend visiting in the morning hours to have the best experience. Carry an umbrella and water bottle to stay hydrated. There is a cafeteria towards the end for food and drinks.

This is the best place for taking kids. The premises are cleanly maintained by the staff. The entry costs around ₹100 for adults and ₹50 for kids below 10 years( check at the ticket counter once). Good to start early as it's a vast environment and takes a minimum of 1 hour even while using a battery operated car for which they charge ₹200 for adults and ₹150 for kids. The battery car operator explains about the animals and birds while passing through each section. There is a parking space right near the exit gate with ample space. The zoo staff are courteous and helpful. The animals are maintained well and the cages are cleanly maintained.

It is hard to rate a zoo because it is essentially animals trapped in a cage for the entirety of their existence but if you put those sentiments aside, the zoo offers interesting facts of all the animals on the boards in front of the cages, regarding what they eat, how endangered they are and where they are from. Most of the cages were well maintained however the lions looked very malnourished, or could possibly be old age. It was sad to see. The water in the ponds were not refilled so the tiger had nothing to lie in to cool down.. the zoo can be doing a lot better to take care of these animals considering the amount of people visiting each and every day. Nevertheless, the gorillas and chimpanzees were a sight to see as they made moves for us all and tried to make us laugh..the gorilla is extremely endangered so it makes sense they are preserved in a zoo.. When you visit, make sure to not feed the animals or tease or scare them. They have feelings too. You also have options to donate to the cause by adopting the animals..

We lived the zoo. They have so many varieties of animals, birds, and plants and are well maintained. The zoo walking area is around 3km, if want a ride, you can get a battery car for 200rs per head. The path is well covered with trees so help from direct sun.

The best zoo in India and one of the best in the world as of today. The zoo is very big spanning across 157 acre and a walking of distance of around 3.5km. If you cannot walk there are golf carts available for some extra fair. The number of animals and species is just astounding. There are more than 562 mammals, 748 birds and 103 reptiles. The variety is quite big and animals and tress from all around the world can be found here. There is a lake, called Karanji which i wasn't able to visit as it required a ticket of its own but it wasn't mentioned anywhere near the ticket counter. There are souvenir shops, a restaurant and a Mysore sandal shop inside the zoo too. Don't miss the bird enclosure as it has many birds moving freely and is really beautiful. An advice from my side: there are many places with free drinking water where you can fill up your bottle, but if you don't have a bottle and buy one from the restaurant, make sure to keep the bottle with you till the end and there will be a counter where you can give the bottle back to get Rs10 back per bottle. A really nice place to visit for animal and nature lovers. There are a huge variety of different animals that you can see. The whole path is around 3km which might be difficult for some. There is strict checking for plastic items like bottles, chips, etc. You'll also not find any snacks or beverages along the way except at one point. If you are bringing snacks, make sure to bring them in paper/non plastic bags. Also be sure to carry water, hats and cooling glasses since it is extremely hot and sunny. Plan to go early in the morning to avoid the afternoon heat.

Mysore zoo is very good place to visit with family.the place is crowded during weekens and public holidays. if you are with children then you can book electric vehicles. It will be better. Zoo is clean and wall maintend. Ro water also available inside the zoo. Nice experience to see giraffe closely.

It's a nice place but in the summer season every animal is struggling. We can see that. If they provide extra water to every animal they may feel chill. Maintaining good and clean. The restroom and child care room are also there in lots of places. Drinking water is good. The entire zoo will take 4 hours to cover. Inside some little shops there to buy, eat but the thing is expensive.

It's a really beautiful garden decorated with flowers and water fountains. The architecture of garden is amazing as it gives the feel of terrace with stairs with flowers all around it. You can see different kind of flowers spread across the garden. During nights, there is light and water show in the garden. For entry you can get tickets at the entrance and food stall and small shops with snacks are present in the garden but they will charge a little more. Boating facility is also available in the garden. Dam side view is also amazing. A good place for chilling out.

I recently visited a tourist garden that had once held promise but now languished in a state of neglect. While it was evident that the garden had seen better days, I couldn't help but appreciate the natural beauty that still managed to shine through. Though the maintenance was lacking, making it a less-than-ideal destination, the lush greenery and scenic surroundings, particularly during the monsoon season, made it worth a visit if you're seeking a temporary retreat.

The park is good for time pass and a few photo clicks. Both the gardens are the same. Don't fall into the trap of different gardens. There's no light and music show since the last few months and will be operational after 6 months. The ticket counters (both entry and boating) will not intimate you about this. Recommended for verification before purchase of tickets.

Now not allowed to visit the dam (Top of the dam, because of leopard appeared in CCTV). Garden is very beautiful. In some areas maintenance is poor. Enjoy with boating for that they are collecting Rs 40 per head.Water fountains are very nice. Entry fee in to the garden is Rs.50 per person. For below 6 years children they are not collecting entry fee. For still cameras additionally have to pay Rs.100. Bus no.303 from Mysore City Bus Stand. Bus fare is Rs.30 from Mysore

An amazing fountain show experience here! Initially we took a lot of time to find the place since Google maps wasn’t showing the right path! We went on a weekend and it was completely crowded and had difficulty walking amidst the crowd! The musical fountain show was extremely amazing. Lights were really good too. It lasted only for 10 minutes. There are shows every 30 minutes interval. Overall a good experience!

One of the best places to hangout and spend peaceful time in the gardens. have a family time. The bridge toll and parking fee is a total of 100rs and the ticket amount for adults above 6 years old is 50 rs and the rate for children 3 to 6 yrs old is 10 rs. The area has a ramp for the stroller and wheelchair. The garden is filled with many small fountains and good lighting and a lot of trees with small plants. The garden is the down side of a dam. Where the spill way of the dam is flown in between through the garden. We can cross the spillway using boats and there is a small bridge to walk across. Every evening there will be lighting and musical water shows available in the brindavan gardens. A lot of people can watch this wonderful show together from the gallery provided. A boating facility is also available here. Different types of boats are available here.

It's a wonderful, scenic and serene place. The ticket cost around 50 rs for adults and 30 rs for children. The dam was visible from the park , however entry into the dam was forbidden due to construction and repairing. The view was breathtaking. The best time to visit would be at 6.45 or after as that's when the musical dancing water foutain shows take place

One of the most beautifully laid out terrace gardens. Rose gardens on either side of the south gate are worth seeing. You can take a boat to get to the musical fountains and light show starts at 7:30 PM. There are Plenty of Snack bars inside the Garden. The whole garden when illuminated is a treat to eyes. A must visit place with family and friends !

Nice place. But it seems maintenance work is not happened since last 2 years. Work is in progress in some areas of the garden. Most of the water fountains are not working properly. Evening light show is also stopped for the maintenance work. No drinking water facility. Few restrooms. I hope these facilities will be included soon. However the garden is huge and beautiful.

This place is too good and mentioned in an excellent condition too. It's a kind of a dam on one side and other side is a lovely garden. Boaring is also available in this park. Night view is too good. I recommend you to visit this park in the Evening so that you can enjoy the night lights too. The park consist of two garden on the both sides of a stream of water where you can enjoy the boating. In last this is a lovely place to visit with your loved ones and friends.

The gardens and fountains are well maintained. Of course one can still find many things broken or not working. Nevertheless it's worthy of a visit. They have a musical fountain on the north side of the garden. There are places to sit and enjoy. The musical fountains are in action between 6:30 to 8:00 for 10 minutes every half an hour. Children would definitely enjoy this place. But very touristy especially during weekends and holidays.

We loved garden, boating and musical water fountain show.Rs. 100 Car Entry charges near the tollgate that includes parking as well. Separate entry for adults (Rs.50) and children(Rs.10). You will get local food vendors inside the garden area. It is well planned. You may get crowded and traffic depending if you are visiting public holidays/weekends or long weekends however you will enjoy your trip.

It is a beautiful garden but the best time to visit the gardens is at 4 or 5 pm. After visiting garden you can go straight to the fountain to watch the musical fountain. The musical fountain is spectacular and unforgettable.

Came here before sunset. There is no sound show as it's under repair. The light show starts after 630. Cool relaxing spot for a picnic. The gardens are maintained well. There are few water fountains too. You can see the big dam of Mysore.

It would be great if the equipment for the water fountain is maintained properly. Not a good idea to visit in the first half of the day. Evening 5 to 8 is the best time to visit this place as one would witness the Cauvery river flowing across the garden area in the day light and the colorful fountain in the night.

This is one of the most visited tourist destination in Mysore. Definitely at top 3 tourist attractions in Mysore. This is a huge garden with many flowers and fountains. It has a very big lawn area all across the garden for the tourists to sit down and relax. This is mainly knows for it's colourful fountain show at 7:30pm on weekends. There are many stalls inside for food and beverages. Overall a good place to visit when you are in Mysore.

I visited Brindavana Gardens long back and the experience was ok but this time it took a 180 degree turn and can be easily considered excellent and exceeded my expectations. From the start, ample parking space, decent snacks and chat stalls, garden grounds and fountains were maintained extremely well. The light and sound fountain show was very good. The only issue is public urination due to non availability of ample clean toilets.

This is famous by name but in current condition Nov 2023 there is nothing in good condition. Only part of the first row fountains are in working condition. Not maintained at all. Gardens are also not maintained. Not worthy. Took ticket for camera but unfortunately nothing was there to capture with camera. Mobile phone camera is enough. Some one can skip this place to save time and energy.

Beautiful Garden, filled with many small fountains and good lighting and a lot of trees with small plants. The musical fountain or water shows is the prime attraction. The Dam was lighted with Indian flag colours. The musical water shows start at 6.30pm and following every 30 min interval. In weekend so much crowded. Beware from pickpocket specially in musical show time and when cross the walkway bridge.

A real mixed bag. The gardens are really big and unusual, Italianate in part. Large lake below the dam, fountains are great. However some areas are quite neglected and need to be better cared for. Toilets especially and sections of the water features. Could be 5*. Be aware, they require both passport and visa ID on entry.

It was an enriching experience visiting this place on our visit to Mysore. This place is a must visit place for anyone who visits Mysore. You should definitely go in the evening to enjoy the weather and the atmosphere. Avoid going on weekends to enjoy this place without much crowd. Theres plenty of space for parking and a very big collection of shops outside the Garden. There is a boat ride available too in front of the dam and plenty of kids play area inside the garden. There is a bit of construction going inside the garden and I hope it gets completed soon.

The water dance light show is worth the visit. Lot of street food inside and outside of brindavan gardens. Proper parking for vehicles is available. boating is available. Night time the damn has a beautiful light view. The street food guys should maintain cleanliness. Restrooms available.

It's a huge garden with a fantastic view of the storage water lake. It's a must visit place if you are in Mysuru. Its on the border of Mysuru. You can enjoy a boat ride at a nominal cost to the other side of the storage lake or walk the short distance as per personal choice. Visually enchanting fountain light show you can enjoy each of the evenings. The dam wall too is well lit with focus type colourful lights. The kids will surely enjoy the fountain light show.

Great place to visit. The monastery is magnificent. The parking space is available close to temple. There is a marketplace in the area as well if you are looking to get some souvenir. The only thing missing here is the peace as it is crowded by tourists.

One of the must visit places in Coorg. Abundant parking space available, no entry free. No words to describe the Monastery, kind of calm and peaceful atmosphere. If you are planning to visit in evening, plan around 3.30. They do have prayers around that time and the sound of mantras makes you feel good. Roads to Monastery are not in very good shape in some sections, otherwise fine.

I visited Namdroling Monastery Golden Temple while on a work trip. It was one of the best decisions I've ever made to visit this location; it was amazing and fantastic. A very different culture and experience in the heart of Karnataka. I'm astounded by how the monks will treat you; they're so humble and kind. The temple was so joyful and vibrant that you had to come here to witness how amazing it was. There were numerous shops selling gifts; avoid them because they are extremely expensive; instead, try Tibetan restaurants, which provide authentic Tibetan cuisine and are well worth trying.

Wonderful monastery in the middle of Karnataka. Mostly always Crowded with a constant floating tourist traffic, it's better to visit it during off peak hours or early mornings.

Highly energizing & well maintained Buddha monastery. Very colourful & appealing for internal peace. Huge hall for meditation. Enough signages around on common facilities like restrooms, drinking water, etc.. Sad to see visitors treating this place like any other tourist place & not adhering to the requests to stay calm & silent. Could see kids are let free to run around even inside the meditation hall. Would love to see all respecting the rules / guidelines of the visiting place

Must visiting place and It is so beautiful and peaceful place for relaxation. Every one should visit this place and needs to be in the list. A beautiful temples are there. Lord Buddha and other gods and Guru’s statue are there in those temple. You may feel peaceful in the temple. They are maintaining temple in a good way. Nearby good clothes and decorative stuffs market are there. You can buy things related to Tibet, Lord Buddha and others. Prices value are also upto mark. Car, Buses and Bike parking are there. You can park there, Some minimal charges need to provide. There is no charges for temple entry.

This is the largest teaching center of Tibetan Buddhism in the world. The monks in here are welcoming, especially the kids. The main temple has 3 stories. 1st and 2nd has famous tibetan monks and the 3rd story has Buddha statue. There is a high school, college and a hospital for monks and nuns here. Around 5000+ monks are living in this Monastery.

It was reopen on March 6th. Opens at 7am and closes at 8pm. Amazing calm and beautiful place. Well maintained. You have temples, stays for monks, hotels, shopping center, book stores and other shops nearby.

Amazing Tibetan Monastery locally known as the Golden Temple. The architecture and sculptures are beautiful and the whole place exudes peace and calm. There are Tibetan style restaurants, souvenir shops within the complex. Entry to the temple is free. There is plenty of parking available in the premises for both private vehicles and groups visiting in buses. This is a must visit!

For those who want to see and experience a different way of life need to visit the Namdroling Monastery Golden temple. The place has an aura of it's own with it being the world for people based there. The monks and people living close by show you a life of simple living. It's a must visit if you long for Buddhist teachings and principles. The silence in those temples have an energy of it's own, which you'll feel as soon you as enter the gates. However, most of the times many local tourists forget to maintain that silence and respect for the place, so do what many sign boards in the place will tell you to - 'keep silence'. There are shops within the premises from where you can buy momentos to remember this place physically as mentally this place will stay with you. Also try out the restaurants nearby, they are actually very good and light on your pockets. The local cuisine will help you connect to the place and people even more. There is ample parking space made for tourists and also I believe rooms are made available for people who would want to stay back.

It's a unique thing to see. There are 3 idols when you visit inside the temple. One is Lord Buddha's which is 60 ft high and 2 others of 58fy high made of copper and gold plating. It's a completely different vibe here, which I'd say gives you instant calm when you land the foot here. At prayer time entry is not allowed for tourists.

This is a beautiful golden monastery for Tibetan Buddhism. There are several buildings that you can see, which are beautiful inside and out. If you are lucky you will see the monks practicing a ritual, which are musical and interesting to see. You can easily spend an hour or more here just looking around. Entry is free but you can make donations too.

Good place to experience the culture of Buddhists. Very hot though and not much to see.Nice ceremony and praying to watch. Very crowded and should be more quiet in a temple.

Beautiful Place. It looks like Tibet and people are friendly. It will be crowded on Weekends. There is no entry fees but you have to leave your slippers/shoes outside and pay for the slipper stand soo keep some spare change. Don't disturb the monks. Videography and drones are not allowed. There is place to buy souvenirs and food outside the monastery.

The temple is very clean and situated on the top of Chamundi hill. The routes are very scenic and breathtaking. There are two tickets available either you'll get direct entry or you can enter through the queue..We visited in Friday and it was quite rush as it's considered very auspicious day..Also you'll find nandii at a short distance.

Nice place for a visit, i went during rainy Saturday, crowd was very less. There was no queue I went inside directly and saw the goddess. The whole Mysore city can be seen from the top. If your health permits try using the stairs (1000 steps) once for going up and coming down.

Temple is beautiful and it is located in the chamundi hills. One Amazing thing about this temple was a gallery was opposite the temple which is donated by a Muslim resource. Unity in diversity. The structure is nice and really impressed by an asuran statue at the entrance

A great atmosphere. This temple is located on a small hill top. It's one of the most beautiful and the oldest temple of the area. The view on the way to the temple and even from the hill is just breathtaking, especially in the evenings. Its great to visit in the mornings or in the evenings to enjoy the weather. I will suggest not a stand in line instead of taking special tickets and after you take laddu for every special ticket.

Review Date (28-6-23): Chamundeshwari is called by the people of Karnataka as Nada Devi (ನಾಡ ದೇವಿ), which means state Goddess. It is situated at the elevation of around 3300 ft from the mean sea level. --> It is believed that Goddess Durga slayed the demon king Mahishasura on the top of this hill which was ruled by him. The place was later known as Mahishooru (Place of Mahisha). The British changed it to Mysore and later Kannadized into Mysuru. --> The Chamundeshwari Temple is considered as a Shakti Peetha and one among the 18 Shakti Peethas. --> The worst thing here is management of queue line for Dharshan. The Rs.100/- or Rs.30/- or d free Darshan has almost no difference bcz it took 2½ to 3 hrs for Rs.100/- nd all queue lines got mixed at almost same time. Toilets r there but some less maintenance. --> Flowers, coconut stalls people say to keep footwear for free but we should compulsory buy at them. But infact there is a plenty of Footwear storage for Rs.10/- for 2 pairs. So no one need to leave their footwear at stalls.. Monkeys are quite more so don't keep banana type eatables directly in hand.

A gorgeous Hare Krishna temple. Even on a weekday, it was super busy, but we didn't have to wait and the queue moved quickly. Great view of Bengaluru from outside the temple too. Please be aware that photography is not permitted within the temple.

The holy temple is situated on the top of Chamundi Hills. Till base of temple it is accent road. Then there are some stairs to climb with shops on both sides. Very popular among locals and tourists as well. Arrangements for shoe keeping and other amenities are available on site.

Temple is clean and well maintained. The maintenance of public queues could have been better. Some tend to break the queue. Police on duty don’t bat an eye. Ample parking facility for both 2 and 4 wheelers. Good views from the top. And the temple looks beautiful.

Temple is really divine but crowd management is worst. Please ensure that people enter the temple in single line so that elderly people and people carrying babies don't feel suffocated. The push and pull mentality doesn't let one have a peaceful glance towards the goddess. The management must take care about queue management properly.

The Church is a nice place to visit, we'll maintain and cleanliness is all around the Church. It was set up during the wadiyar era, we can see plenty of wax statues also describing the place. Lots of tourist comes to visit and we were among also one of them, the most important thing is you need to maintain silence and we can feel also even though it was crowded in weekend but the silence and peace was there. It’s an amazing monument. One should definitely visit here. You can see marvellous Indian architecture. If we travel from Bangalore there will be around 3hrs travel.

It's a beautiful historical site , the sculpture and the story engraved are a treat for eye. There are no physical tickets available, need online ticket bookings. The watchman are very courteous and helpful. There are also few handicraft shops right outside the temple with some cool wooden carved stuffs.

Beautiful temple with rich history, and very well preserved. It’s great for a day trip from Bangalore and a short drive from many resorts on the banks of Kaveri river. If you are visiting as a group, you can hire a registered guide in the temple premises so you get to learn so many amazing things about the temple and its history. Lots of parking space outside, only ₹20 entry ticket per person.

This is a marvelous piece of architecture from our ancestors. The details in the carvings and sculptures are top notch. One cannot even imagine the effort and the process used in carvings that too without any machines. Simply outstanding! Near to Mysore and talakadu. Good one day outing from Bangalore. 5:30 pm is closing time. It is very well maintained area with good garden and washroom facilities. Entry fees 20/- per person (Indian) and only can be done online( guard will guide you how to do).

The construction of this temple was caused by Somanatha, a hoysalla king. The architecture shows a splendid example of Hoysala style. Beautiful architecture of years past. The carvings are intricate and each wall has different carvings. When we visited there was only online tickets available, website and qr code available at the venue where you can purchase tickets. The physical counter was closed. There is also an interpretation centre where you can learn more about the construction style and other details.

This is one of UNESCO recognised site as like mahabalipuram. Entry tickets (40 rupees)are only through online. You can go there directly and book the ticket. Security person will help you out. From Mysuru, it is 35 kms towards Bengaluru. One of the must watch place in ur life time. The way the temple was built is really astonishing and mind blowing. You must take family pic there. Each and every sculptures and pillars have a story to say. You will not believe that this was built by humans, but still have to.... Lot of films songs shooting have taken place here like Rajinikanth's film Arunachalam song 'Athanda Ithanda.....' and many other film songs. Outside the temple you have well maintained park and landscape. Please do visit this temple with ur family and friends.

The Somanathpura Temple is built during the time of the Hoysalas, along with temples at Belur and Halebeedu. The temple location is easily 2.5 hours drive from Bengaluru. Worth a day trip over the weekend. The location is well maintained after it's received UNESCO world heritage site recognition. I was surprised to see it so clean and neat during my second visit recently.

This is a temple from the time of Hoysala Empire and has been made incredibly. The architecture of this place is mind-blowing. We were amazed to see the carvings on the walls as it has complete Ramayan and Mahabharata. The entry ticket is Rs. 20 per person which needs to be booked online or you can reach there, do the same through scan code. Guides are available at reasonable rates if you're interested more in architecture and carvings.

This is an amazing spiritually and beautifully carved Nandhi statue situated little over half way to Chanundeshwari Temple on top of Chamundi hill. You can reach this location either by foot by climbing stairs from Mysuru or by vehicle through dedicated paved one way road. There is also a Cave Shiva temple right next to Nandhi statue. This area been well maintained, there are many vendors including food and beverage. Watch for monkies because they love your food.

Do visit Nandhi while traveling to chamundi hills. The road was closed due to renovation as of Jan 7th 2024. So prefer going via steps to this place. One can witness Beautiful sceneries while going to this place. Nandi temple will not be crowded.

Sri Nandi Temple in Mysore is the bliss to visit when you plan for the Mysore trip from your place. The temple is very near to the Chamundeshwari temple and is just half the distance to the temple there is a 5m tall idol of Nandi the sacred bull of Lord Shiva. The temple premises are very pleasant and a must worth a visit for the devotional tourists. Huge sized granite stone Nandi very well caved and nicely placed on hill. Nandi is mount of Lord Shiva and one finds and one finds Nandi at all Shiva temples.It also called Nandidurg or Nandi Betta. This is Big Mandi a top Chamundi Hills Mysore. Must visit if you are in Mysore. Nandi is not at top most location of the hill but a little down. Either you park in top and walk down through steps a little or on way up or down park your car and walk sideways to be here. We need to walk a maximum 5 minutes. There are lot of stalls on sideways selling cut fruits and sugarcane juice but try them if you are confident of your stomach. A little walk down the steps from Nandi you see a marvellous view of entire Mysore don't miss that. Its the best view one can get ,The large of the Nandi is beautifully carved from a single rock in the ancient history of the Mysuru.

An imposing and huge Nandi Bull statue on the hill is definitely worth visiting. From the Chamundeshwari temple, it's around 15 mins trek one way, downward journey towards the Nandi bull is ofcourse easier but the way back, same route, is a vertical and steep even though with stairs. If you do this trek, you get at least one superb view point for clicking pictures of the city from the hill

Very silent and peaceful place it is, the giant Nandi statue is located in the jungle of Chamundi hills. This is one of the sacred hills in India. The view from here is magnificent and you can see the entire Mysore city.

It's a great place to visit once you visit chamundeshwari temple in Mysore. It's the biggest Nandi I have ever seen. Usually only Nandi is rare to be seen, I wonder where is Shiva in this case. Nandi is mesmerising. Very beautiful. Road to reach there is under construction but car can reach there from other way which is not tar but motorable. Steps are also available be very rarely used by anyone. Kids love to see this big sculpture. I would love to visit again.

Nandi Mandir is there en route to Chamundi temple. Currently access to Nandi is limited due to road under construction and vehicle have to go slow to reach temple. Carvings on Nandi are worth to observe and not to be missed.

About 16 feet in height and 24 feet long, this Nandi atop the Chamundi Hills is the third largest in India. The creation of this colossal image is attributed to Dodda Devaraja Wodeyar (1659–1673) on of the illustrious Maharajas of Mysore. It is the same maharaja who also commissioned the 1000 stepped stairway to the hilltop. More than 350 years old, this is one of the oldest icons in Mysore. The Nandi is located almost at the ¾th the way to the hilltop. The main road to hilltop arrives at a "View Point" junction. The right fork leads to Nandi (2km) and the straight road leads to the main shrine of Chamundeswari further at the top of the hill. The 2km road to nandi is broken, so the only way to get there is walk 2kms. The road is flat and takes 20-30 min to reach. There is an old shiva temple in the cave behind the nandi.

This nandi is expected to be 2000 year old but it doesn't look like that... It's a good sculpture and on the other side of the hill from chamundeshwari temple... it's on the steps way.

If you are a art lover, do visit the place to look at the art work by a very young lady. The space looks very small but you would definitely appreciate the work and the effort gone behind the work. There's a lot of detailing that has gone behind each piece of work. They have tried to make the museum a bit engaging by adding other attractions in this small place like archery, 3D photo, couple of stalls(to make this place more commercial). The carvings here was told to have taken 7-8 months to complete due to which they only have been maintaining the work for sometime now. The entrance to the museum is ₹60/- per adult.

Good place to visit, even though it's not that famous, if you have 1 hour to spare, you can definitely go here. It's not a big place, just small covered campus with lots of amazing and beautiful sand carvings with great details. The entry ticket is also very nominal. Also they have a bird feeding activity inside. You need to pay seperately for this. But the experience is good. I did that and it was very fun.

I had gone through the reviews before visiting this place and found so many negative reviews about people disgracing the place and the Art form! If this would have been some renowned artist, people would have blindly praised or at least not abruptly criticized! Whether the form is Sand art or not is not my focus, the passion and liveliness she has carved into this is priceless and more than amazing! The entire concept and connection of different themes and graceful expression for long 7 months is ultimate! I personally loved this place and would express immense love and bliss to the artist and her entire team including her father who is extremely humble to people visiting this place with no sense of pride but rich simplicity and politeness ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Visited this place in FEB 2023. Museum is located on the road of Chamundi hills. It too small place and some of the sand sculptures are good .It one time visit only. Entry ticket is 60/- (Ticket is high as per the Place. But one thing is inside the Museum one 3D photo shoot area is available and it’s good and free entry. Time Taken : less than 1hr. Overall :- Please don’t waste too much time for this museum or better to avoid and use time in other activities in Mysuru.

The museum is located on the road to Chamundi hills and is visible from the main road. The museum is a work done by a solo artist and yes, it is too good. The lady has got some serious skills. The entry ticket is only ₹60 which is a bit more than what I think will be commensurate to what the place has to offer. Don't get me wrong. I appreciate the efforts and everything but given the number of people visiting this place ₹30-40 would have been a better price. The place also has some local shops for you to buy local items and goods. The sand sculptures are really breath-taking and you are for sure going to be blown away by the skills this lady has. She is the sole person who made all the sculptures and there is a little board which explains the story behind the same. Kudos to the lady and I wish her all the best and as far as recommendation is concerned, yes, please visit this place to support talents and also see some masterpiece in front of you.

Great sand art done by a small girl. Got Inspired a lot after seeing all the sand arts. They are huge and attractive. Also all the designs are very much in detail. So give it a watch. It was something new for me.

Visited this place in 2016. This place is not so big. It is a small place. But we can't underestimate it. There was a long sand sculpture with too many arts within it. Can look about a hour into it. Can spend a hour here. Too many minute details in the sand. Such a nice sculpture by sand

It is simply amazing how they can make the sand come to life with their meticulous attention to detail. The sculptures appear to come to life in front of your eyes because to the dedication and emotion that are seen in every line and curve. A superb example of the elegance of sand art is the museum itself. The sculptures' arrangement and display produce.

Small correction, now the entry fees is 60/- for adults and for kids above 5 years same charge is applicable. Place was really nice. We enjoyed a lot. It is difficult to find any form of sand art away from sea shores

Small and impact place. Don't expect lot of them, but looks good. Work done with the sand is great. Great effort. But place is make very small bacause if the shops and some small small outlet. So walking space also will he very less and hard to pass and see. There is a 3d photo taking place also. Don't visit in peak time.

Entry is 60rs per head. Kids below 5 years have free entry. Just a 15-20 minutes walk to see the sand sculptors. Inside that there is separate area for 3D image taking , fish spa, bird feeding etc which has separate tickets to be bought at their own respective entrances.

Good place to spend time with family and friends. One time watchable place when ur around Mysore. If you have other Better plans or busy plans then this place can be skipped. Tickets are bit high. My point of view is even though the art is good, it doesn't feel too interesting to see, maybe due to modernization or something.

Has few small shops with handmade chocolates and Handicrafts .. but very dusty .. has an archery playing place with additional payment... has a few large pics where you can take almost near realistic pics like hulk , palace , kali ma..etc. Sand art is very nice ..measurements are propotionate and detailing is nice .

Very beautiful business developed by sir and his family no one would have thought making sculptures and coating them with sand can become a money making tool my POV the sculpture were as is made in clay or something and then coated with sand the entry ticket is @60 per head for adult for a 10min sculpture seeing. Frankly speaking if you're not going to take pictures over there don't go because it's not that intresting other then taking pictures I see the same old sculptures from 5 year ago Google review anyways. Amazing business idea awesome execution. And don't forget to give 5 star rating for using 3D picture gallery

It's a very small place but the sand art work done is quite impressive. Good to take pictures and buy some local handicrafts and artifacts. The price is not justified though. You would have to negotiate a lot. There is some home made.chocolates counter also inside. And in the end there is a 3d picture booth. If you learn the trick then pictures do come out nice.

What a talented artist! it’s a small hidden gem, definitely go and appreciate the masterpieces she has created! I hope she gets the support and recognition to create and sculpt more.

A beutiful lake close to the famous mysore zoo. The way to the lake is through the middle of the zoo area. Boating is available. But in this summer, better to avoid. Pedal blat is RS. 30 per person but the boat with operator will costs you 300 rupees (maximum 4 people) which is an utter waste of money. They will go one round maxm 5-8 minutes only and it is an open boat without any roof. Rainy or winter season will be the better time to visit there. Overall good to visit. Garden is well maintained. Hydrophytes collection was also good.

It’s a calm and peaceful place. Boating was available & the ticket cost was 50₹ per adult. The ticket is valid for 4hours only, if found to be there for extra hours extra charges has to be paid. Rowing & self-peddling options are available for boating. Spending the time in middle of the lake was quite mesmerising with calm water flowing around me. U can watch the birds flying over the clear sky. View was so good that I still can view the exact beautiful scenery in my mind🤩

Good place to visit along with family. There is a good walkway about 2Kms. Peacock park has black swans too. Boating is a joy. Can hire a private boat (Costs 300) or self peddling one ( 30 per head) this is time bound. There is a seperate children's park. Neatly maintained. Various drinking water spots are available. There is a designated spot for having lunch as well. Rest rooms are also there. Various spots to sit and relax. Having a good view of the lake. Watch tower gives an elevated view of the lake. We can view birds flying around. Best time to see the birds are during the day and evenings when it's not too hot. Birds are rarely seen during the afternoons. There is a butterfly park and that's during November & December ( That's the season time ) Various plants and trees can be seen they are labelled along with their names and family name. Caution : Couples everywhere. Ha ha ha Tickets cost: Adults 50/- and children 25/- Good place ! Have fun 😀

Beautiful place for family outing. You can call this place beauty of nature. The main attraction is the peacock 🦚 park. You can see many peacocks are roaming freely there and swan 🦢 too. You can also do boating there. Children's park is also there which is well maintained.

One the beautiful place to spend weekend !! Such a beautiful place, the place was green and calm!! Well maintained. The boating facilities are great! Clean maintenance, you can spot many birds if you go during the season time (October to January). Lots of peacock you can spot including white peacocks.

A beautiful man made lake in the city of Mysore with boating facility. A beautiful place to indulge yourself amidst nature. It has the biggest aviary(indoor bird shelter) in the country.

This place is underrated. Entrance fee is of two types,only lake or lake + zoo, we gotta pay extra if we choose combo pack but it's cheaper compared to paying differently for zoo and the lake. We can take a boat ride here at a very cheaper price. Also you can ride the boat yourself if you want to. It's a scenic place with variety of birds playing in the water. Keep your entrance ticket safe as you can use the same for zoo as well instead of standing in queue and buying tickets again in zoo. Food items are not allowed inside if they are packed in plastic. Not all staffs are friendly

The ticket and parking was quite expensive. There's like a park and greenary with children play area...you can try boating but there will be heavy rush during weekends...I think it is overrated place !!

A peaceful place to visit whenever going to Mysore. The Zoological garden that surrounds the lake is such a beautiful place to take a walk, with friends, partner or even solo. Would definitely recommend to add to your itinerary when visiting Mysore.

This is our first trip to this Place. We have visited only the bird sanctuary and not the zoo. They have good parking space at the entrance for cars. We went boating in Karanji lake to see the birds around the lake. We saw only a few birds during our trip. They have self pedal boats as well as driver assisted boats. We went around this place and saw some variety of birds in the cages. They have big spaces inside the park with lush green trees and plants. You will see a lot of lovers inside this place as they use this place for meetups. That is the only drawback and other that it is a good place.

It is nice place to spend the time with the nature and verieties of birds. Can able to see the peacocks and some birds with nearest distance. Boating also available inside. In the weekend time some rush will be there.

The place explains the generation of today to understand how technology evolved over a period of time and reached where we are today. Preserving and demonstrating things to the next generation than scrapping the things is a great idea. My kids loved the joy ride of the train inside the museum and I felt the ticket price is really worth with this. There is a canteen in the Museum which is hosted in a rail bogie. When I visited this place the vendor of the canteen was heavily loaded with orders and there was good waiting time as I see there are limited options inside the museum.

The Mysuru Railway Museum is one of the cleanest and most maintained museums I’ve ever been to. The place is fascinating for both kids and adults. The Museum has multiple Engines from era on display and very neatly explains the progression of Indian railways. Even the cafeteria is made inside a train bogey. There is an AV (Audio Visual) room to explain the way Indian Railways have evolved. There is toy train too that takes you through the premise and is definitely a fun ride.

Good place to visit with children and family. It's located beside the railway station. A lot of old train engines and model stations and their daily used items are displayed here. There is a narrow gauge toy train that will be running inside and children will enjoy it. We can see how the train revolution happened from 1900 with details. There is a train model canteen available and have tea and snacks.

If you like trains and want to know more on the locomotives, this will be a very good place for you to experience it. Highly recommended taking your kids along as they will enjoy thoroughly. Neat and clean place with cafeteria inside makes it more memorable.

Wonderful place, consists of lot of old engines with on their proper meter gauge lines. Even the designs on the trains with their meters and working were kept intact. Other than that I highly recommend the toy train ride which they give two rounds around the park. Won't recommend the watch tower because it has no view around it.

I couldn't give justice to my visit to this place due to paucity of time. It is located just close to railway station. This place will surely enrich your knowledge on Indian rail, its history, evolution of equipments etc Very well maintained. You can have fun learning here. There's also a toy train ride. Some really good spots to click pictures. I would like to give a detailed visit to this place in future.

Excellent place to visit with kids. A complete journey is covered and we can explain to kids on how it was evolved. They do have sample track and train for most of the models and the place was maintained well. Limited food options. There is a Toy train also to try with. Overall we loved the place and recommend to go with kids.

Just a few hundred meters away from the Mysore Railways Station Mysore Railway Museum is the fantastic place in Mysore and perhaps best thing happen to any city. Taking forward the legacy of Mysore, this Railway Museum is truly the best and worth place to visit and deserves to be yet another legacy of Heritage City Mysore. Some of the erstwhile beauties of Railways fleets that once ruled the Railway tracks ,the Railway Museum has all those beauties. The well-maintained, beautifully arranged and fantastically showcased, it has really brought the memory of Indian Railways golden era to life. Spending time here in this museum is indeed a memory.

Wonderfully designed and a must visit for people of all ages. The museum has great exhibits, a toy train, beautiful open spaces. Bought back memories of younger days and the excitement around trains from past. Its India in a tiny nutshell and a place that will feel nostalgic of your younger days.

Awesome place to hangout, but do visit before 5.30 PM because that's the closing time, we were lucky we reached around 4.30 and could enjoy that one hour to the fullest. If you get time do checkout the video of railway. Its inside a room where you can sit and can listen to the history of railways, how it all started and how it was upgraded. And yes ofcourse you shouldn't miss the Toy Train, we had a great time, the ticket price is very less and you can enjoy 2 rounds in the toy train and can click some amazing pictures. Garden, the train engines, railway track everything is so perfectly placed and maintained. You will love this place at your first visit. Wheelchair is easily accessible there.

The museum is very close to the Mysore railway station. The museum is extremely clean and well maintained. Here you can get a lot of information about railways. The ticket is Rs.50 per person. There is no restrictions on photography. There is a cafe in a railway coach. There is also an audio room. Here is a mini toy train. From that we can ride the garden for 2 rounds. No separate fee is charged for it. The garden here is also beautiful. Toilets and drinking water is available. The coach saloon of the Queen of Mysore is kept here. A little statue of Common Man is a attraction point.
