We came to the International hotel’s exhibition hall for Study Abroad exhibition. We came by bus as it is faster and more buses. But for the way back I took metro and Bodomzor station, as on arrival metro is closer then the bus stop )) Funny but true. Anyway, the entrance is rather strange as it is small and narrow with only 2 narrow doors. Then inside It has long stairs, which are absolutely unacceptable for people at age. It looks beautiful but in practice hard for elder people. Down below they have unusual cute personal seats. I liked them, and was happy to have a sit for a while. If you have a chance, visit this station, it’s differs from others’ Tashkent stations.

This is one of the metro stations in Tashkent that comes with exceptional adornments. The patterns shown here are more minimalist than the other ones and gives a clean, modern vibe. This is also the metro stop that is closer to the Minor Mosque than the Minor stop.

It is also a cool place to enjoy a local meal. Easily accessible by metro. One of the cities sites to visit for sure.

It is very easy to find the market. You can get there by bus, metro, or taxi. We chose to get there by metro. The metro station is right inside the market, so it is very convenient. I did not see as many souvenirs for tourists as I saw in other bazaars in Samarkand or Bukhara. There are more local food, fresh food, regular clothes, household items, etc. I enjoyed walking and observing Uzbekistan people’s shopping. Don’t miss the food area. Both sides are packed with street food. Freshly cooked, inexpensive prices, interesting, and delicious food. There are seats that you shared with other people, order food, and enjoy your $3 meal.

Chorsu Bazaar is a traditional bazaar located in the center of the old town of Tashkent. The bazaar is like no other one and has its own unique charm and ambience. Hundreds of stalls selling meat, fruits, nuts, breads and all daily necessities and its usually packed and crowded. A must visit place for tourists visiting Tashkent city.

Huge marketplace with hundreds of stalls both inside and around the Bazaar building, selling virtually everything there is to be sold. The butcher stalls inside the dome are somehow a little gruesome, but in general, the sights and smells (an assortment of smoked cheese, pickkes, spices, fresh fruit and roasting meat) are breathtaking. It can be easily reached by subway (Chorsu Station).

love this bazaar. do head over to the bread section. the hot fresh off the stove bread is so good. fruits sold here are fresh and good variety. we spent a lot of time also at the 2nd floor buying nuts and dried fruits. do bargain

An amazing experience. A place where you can see and feel the essence of the Silk Road. I imagine the trading style and how the merchants presented their merchandise as an exact version of how it happened here hundreds of years ago. This Bazaar has it all. Food products, meat, vegetables, gold, dairy products, and souvenirs. Also, be mindful that they negotiate and bargain, so prices are not final. Make sure you visit the food court. They have excellent local food and grilled kabob. The place is worth visiting. Visit and take some photos to show back home. 🇺🇿 ❤️

Amazing place to visit for tourists and expats living here. You can find anything if you have the time to get lost in this huge maze of stalls in Chorsu bazaar. The meat market is something I have never seen on such a scale before. I love buying plants from the nursery area and local clothes from the stalls... Also a place to get spare keys cut and buy items for your house.

A wonderful place to see local life in Tashkent. It is quite clean and there are many stalls showcasing the everyday goods that the Uzbeks need in terms of clothing, utensils and of course food. Stop by their food stalls to have a wonderful sashlik, black tea, bread and hunym, which is a potato dough with tomato sauce. There are also touristy sections where you can bargain for souvenir Uzbek crafts, such as pottery.

One place in Tashkent you can’t miss. Experience the rich flavour of Uzbekistan culture, food and shopping. From dry fruits, spices, clothing and many other things at this massive shopping area. Did I mention, wear a good shoes and ready for a long compelling walk !!

visited here as part of a city tour. Not my kinda thing but others liked it and it was a real riot of colours. Heavily used by locals and far better presented wares than in a UK supermarket. Prices were ridiculously cheap too by our standards. The bread making was impressive, you could feel the heat of the ovens from 6m away.

Such an interesting place. I was short of time so made a quick tour of this market. A go to place for fruits, vegetables, spices, dry fruits and what not. I tried the local veg salad which is available alacarte. So, we have the option to pick the cut vegetables placed in the shelves and they provide them for eating. The bazaar has a huge meat section and is clean and well maintained. A great place to know the Uzbeks way of life.

Today, we explored the Chorsu Bazaar in Tashkent on a rainy afternoon. The market is a vibrant hub with different sections for various items. We started at the butcher market, then moved to the milk and dairy section. Next, we ventured to the nut and spice market on the first floor of the dome market, where we found a variety of nuts in their shells, a new experience for us. After that, we visited the vegetable market, which offered a wide selection of fresh produce. Overall, our visit to the Chorsu Bazaar was a fantastic experience, despite the rain. The market's lively atmosphere and diverse offerings made it a memorable outing.

Great one. Biggest market with everything under a single roof including meat, dairy products, gold, vegetables, fruits, clothing etc. There's a metro station nearby as well as bus stop for easy commutation . Most of the shops are closed by 6 PM. So ensure to reach there in the day time to cover all shops (though it is not possible)

Tashkent Chorsu Market. A place visited by many people as a traditional market. They sell a variety of items, including dried fruits, fresh fruits, vegetables, potatoes, live chickens, and ornamental birds. A place that offers plenty of things to see for foreigners.

Huge market place with beautiful building. They are, you can buy and find practically everything from food, apparel and appliances. Worth visiting just keep in mind that you have to bargain a lot otherwise you’ll pay double price. And don’t go on weekends, you’ll be lost in the crowd.

It’s a market. You will find local customers more than tourist. You will find many vegetable and fruits shops. It’s not only inside the dome. You will see many shops all around the dome. And if you are vegetarian then better you don’t go inside . Because all meat shops inside and it’s very scary.

A pleasant place to pass down during not sunny days. Beautiful, decorative trees, some are unusual for our area. Although before they sawed all the all trees it was better as the old trees were chinaras and were so high that it was a very shadowed place to walk around even during the sunny days. However when these trees grow up, in another 10 years it will be a lot better.

Nice park, interesting spot to walk around. Close a university and a mall. We just happened to find it as we were walking, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come and see it. To get across you can use the stairs to cross the road.

A place of nice walking at night. It's just beside the Amir Temur museum. But there is nothing to see or find except the statue.

Amir Temur Square is the main town square in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. After the independence of Uzbekistan, the square was renamed the Amir Temur Square in 1994, and Temur's statue was placed on site. Adjacent to the park in south, the Amir Temur Museum was built in 1996. This is an absolute must visit attraction for tourists.

Huge statue with intricate detail. It's almost like everything in the area is built around this one statue. Pretty cool to see once or twice, but wouldn't call it a tourist attraction.

The history of the Amir Temur Square is itself intimately tied to the history of Uzbekisan. Amongst the former "patron saints" were Stalin and Karl Marx. Since Uzbekistan's independence in 1994, the statue of Amir Temur, who is no doubt the national hero for the Uzbeks, has graced the Square and it is indeed known as the Amir Temur Square now. The Square is quite big, and when we were there we did see a small scale military step. It also comes with very nice landscape and it is perfect for a rest stop here. We also stopped by Hotel Uzbekistan nearby.

The Amir square is a little park and ideal for an afternoon stroll or to from all your sightseeing in Tashkent. The highlight of the square is the 6 meter high statue of Amir on his horse. A popular place for locals and tourist to take selfies. Well worth a visit

Decent spot to relax and enjoy some downtime in Tashkent. Pleasant open space ambiance. Park is adorned with trees and flowers making it a great place to take a leisurely stroll or simply find to sit and unwind. But place may be a bit too hot in the summer/afternoon as there's not really a lot of shade for everyone. Bring some sunglasses and umbrella during hot weather. Located near Uzbekistan Hotel, Amir Temur Square is conveniently accessible. You won't need a lot of time here though as the park's not that big. Maximum 15 minutes should be enough I think. In conclusion, if you're looking for a nice spot to take a break or have ice cream at while in Tashkent, feel free to check out Amir Temur Square. Book a hotel near Amir Temur Square for convenience, then take the underground metro to reach Amir Temur Square. From there, it's a short walk to the State Museum of Temurids, and you can continue on foot to Independence Square, which takes about 20 minutes, allowing you to enjoy the sights along the way.

This park was very pleasant and clean and also had lots of benches for sitting down and enjoying the peace. The statue in the centre was huge and Timur (Tamurlame) is very much revered here. His empire lasted three generations before fragmenting but the architecture and scientific advances live on. We then continued to walk around the park and were interviewed by two groups of school children to see what we thought of the country, why we were there, how long for etc. This was actually lovely and they were incredibly polite and well spoken, I wish I'd thought to ask them questions.

Extensive central square with pleasant waljs, seating and statues, with good road crossing and underpass access - worth a visit

The Amir Timur Square (Uzbek: Amir Temur xiyoboni, Амир Тимур Хиёбони) is the main town square in Tashkent, Uzbekistan 🇺🇿 The predecessor of the square is a park built during the first governor-general of the Russian Turkestan era. The square was at the intersection of two main streets, Moscow Street (now Amir Timur Street) and Kaufmann Street (now Milza Ulugh Beg Street), under the name of Constantinov Square. It was built in 1882 by Nikolai Ulyanov (Ульянов, Николай Фёдорович Ульянов) working under Mikhail Chernyayev.[1] After the 1917 Russian Revolution, the square was renamed the Revolution Square. While Joseph Stalin's statue was placed in the square during the late 1940s, it was removed due to the October 1961 resolution that all Stalin's statues would be removed. In 1968, a statue of Karl Marx was erected. After the independence of Uzbekistan, the square was renamed the Amir Timur Square in 1994, and Timur's statue was placed on the site. Adjacent to the park in the south, the Amir Timur Museum was built in 1996.

Very big statue inside a beautiful green park. Amir Temur is a huge symbol for Uzbekistan’s history and still today very important for citizens. It is nice to go walk in this area.

A very strange reservoir in the mountains. I don’t recommend going there in the spring. There is little water. A dry clay desert forms hundreds of meters along the coast. The coastline is very dirty. Wet clay. The lake is suitable for swimming in the middle of summer, when the snow begins to melt in the mountains. Be careful the water's edge. Podhrd to the water found only on the territory of the Pyramid hotel. Entrance $1.

It was a super cold day in winter's with heavy snowfall..the entire area surrounding the lake was covered by very thik layer of snow..amid this thik snow the view of prestine blue water of the lake was a sight to watch and walking on such thick layer of snow with mudy loose soil a life time experience..

An amazing view if you happen to have an additional day in Tashkent to kill. Can be done together with the mountain on the same trip especially during winter (ski/snow sports resort). The trip out of city can be long and the roads can be difficult. Would recommend if you have a local guide

Most beautiful part was the entrance, when you walk in you are greeted by a huge painting with ornate details. The actual exhibits of the museum are a little disappointing as most of them are photocopies or works inspired by Timur, very little actually relating to him.

The guide to the museum is thorough knowledgeable guy. I would highly recommend him for a better & intense experience of contemporary history...

The museum is dedicated to the great ruler, Amir Timur. It was established in the year 1996 celebrating the 660th anniversary of the birth of Amir Timur. The museum has several exhibits including a duplicate Koran. The interior of the museum is decorated with paintings, pillar and a huge Chandelier in the center. Nearly half day is required to visit the entire museum. It's a must visit place in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

I had the pleasure and honour of visiting this museum which is undoubtedly iconic to the county. An amazing insight into the rich history of the land. The best part, it’s simply designed to be informative and yet elegant in presentation of the age old architecture and artwork.

On 18-07-2021 along with my 2 other friends planed to visit Amir Temur Museum. After a 20 minutes of ride we reached there. It’s situated just near to the Uzbekistan Hotel and Amir Temur Square & Park. Marvelous building and efficiently maintained. We bought 3 tickets of 48,000 Soum almost 5 US$. Our decision to visit this museum was really good. Museum is extremely resourceful in every aspect. You can find almost every bit of Temurid dynasty from Amir Temur to last king of India Bahadur Shah Zafar. I liked the most was A manuscript of Holy Quran (Hazrat Usman Quran) and a comprehensive chart related to the Genealogy of Amir Temur.

As the name implies its the place to be to learn about the Temurids and their leaders such as the OG Amir Temur and Ulug'bek teacher of life. Lots of family trees and small scale replicas of famous monuments in Uzbekistan good to wet the appetite before embarking on a silk road expedition.

Impressive collection, very interesting. I highly recommend to hire a guide so he can explain every detail because is a very rich history.

Small museum to Amir Timur and his legacy. The main central hall is stunning and I think this alone was worth the ticket price of 25000 som (for foreigners). The rest of the museum has some various objects but nothing outstanding. I think I was here for about 30 minutes.

Traveling during a pandemic is a surreal experience. My family and I may just be the only foreign tourists in Tashkent right now. The museums are open but completely empty. Lucky for us! Halls are empty, docents are kind. They have translations in English and QR codes that link to Wikipedia pages. It's also beautiful inside.

The ticket lady is flat out rude. Needlessly aggressive and argumentative. Refused to let us buy a ticket for a tour. Worst person I’ve met here and definitely miserable with her life. Someone’s gotta figure out the employees of this place cause it’s unlike any other employee I’ve encountered here. The museum itself is beautiful and the guide (that we went out and found ourselves) was very kind and fluent in English! We didn’t understand the pricing here and gave him 25,000 thinking that was normal, but now I know it’s not. Please give the guides more money for their time!

Tamerlane.The three-story rounded building of the Museum is framed by a dome in classic Oriental style. The interior is richly decorated with marble, unique paintings, and gold leaf. On the walls of the halls, a fresco depicts the life of Tamerlane, as well as paintings that convey the atmosphere of those times. The highlight of the Museum is a crystal chandelier with a height of 8.5 meters, which consists of 106 thousand pendants.The Museum's exhibits tell visitors about the history of Uzbekistan during the reign of the Timurid dynasty. The Museum has more than 3 thousand exhibits. Here you can see jewelry, clothing, musical instruments, tools and other items of the middle ages. A copy of the Osman Koran, the Holy book of Muslims, is kept in the Central hall.In the Museum you can also see numerous correspondence of Tamerlane and his descendants with the monarchs of European countries, paintings depicting the great commander, various miniatures and models of famous monuments built in our country by the Timurid dynasty.

Interesting collection of artifacts of the history of the Temurid empire and paintings of events. The building itself, while modern, is of an historic style. Second and third floors hold the exhibits, with the third floor being more extensive and interesting.

If you’re serious about understanding and learning more about Uzbekistan’s history, you have to visit this museum when you’re in Tashkent at least once. Admission fee is about 25,000 som (~ US$2). Very beautiful, ticket for foreigners is 25,000som/person. Must visit place when in Tashkent.

The central hall of the museum is gorgeous, and the large chandelier is especially impressive. However, you have to pay money other than the entrance fee to take pictures inside.

Firstly, it opens at 10am, is not open on Monday’s, the entrance is downstairs and it costs extra to take photos inside. Pay the extra, the urge to snap will be unbearable. Inside and out the Amir Timur Museum is beautiful. There is a lot to see inside; as you walk up the stairs to the main chamber take a look up. The decorative high ceiling is a wonder on par with the decorative pieces in Samarkand. There are loads of war memorabilia, paintings of the great man and his dynasty plus scale models of buildings that were influenced by Amir Temur’s legacy.

Museum of Applied Arts is one of the major tourist attractions in Tashkent. It is a small yet interesting museum with historical applied artworks. The interior specially the walls are skilfully painted with eye catching views. There is a gift shop as well at the back with amazing handcrafted clothes and many interesting souveniers. Highly recommended for all the tourists visiting Tashkent.

Loved this small museum. Wonderful selection of textiles, miniature painting, jewellery, ceramics, wood carving and metal work. Also carpets. The gift shop is vastly overpriced. There is a tiny cafe with a few options. Lovely walk from the metro through an old part of Tashkent with low buildings and trees.

State Museum of Applied Arts of Uzbekistan is an art museum located in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, founded in 1937 as a temporary exhibition for handicrafts. The museum showcases over 4,000 exhibits on decorative art in Uzbekistan, including wood carving, ceramics, embossing, embroidery, and samples of mass production in local industry. It’s a must visit place for all the arts & crafts lovers. There are some unique showpieces which are very old suzanis, and seeing them lined up next to each other makes it very for interesting experience.

The museum is in an unassuming building and cost 25k Soms each to go in. We actually spent a couple of hours inside looking at the exhibitions on silk making, musical instruments, jewelry, embroidery and other similar crafts. Every exhibit had an English description which was really useful. It was interesting to see the transition, maybe 50 years ago, from hand woven and embroidered items to machine made and also the change from natural to artificial dyes. Once we'd finished we sat in the courtyard cafe and had a coffee and Deb bought a couple of bits in the little shop.

Beautiful museum but only evident on the inside. The place also hard to locate as road signage not prominent. A lot of details confronting us when we stepped in. There are also a lot of exhibits displayed with more respect. It would b easier to take Yandex taxi to get there.

Ticket foreigners - 25000 Lots of interesting items throughout the museum. Most of them are made with in the last 50 years. If you're looking for older artifacts this is probably not your place. We enjoyed seeing the national costumes and lots of the weaving work. You can scan the free Wi-Fi code on the wall to get connected. You can also scan the codes by the displays to learn more about them but we couldn't get it to work. The museum website came up but the pictures wouldn't show and no audio played. Worth an hour or two visit and it's in a pleasant neighborhood for a walk or a coffee nearby.

Highly recommend this gorgeous museum! The miniature paintings were my favorite (see photos). Tickets for foreigners are 25,000. Only takes 45 minutes to see everything in the museum comfortably.

A museum housed in the former Russian diplomat’s residence. It’s small but packed with artifacts from fabrics to traditional instruments. Really love the chess set with artwork. Audio guidance via an web app was helpful. If you have an extra time in Tashkent, I recommend :)

A must-see in Tashkent! Beautiful museum where you can appreciate and learn about Uzbek crafts. I enjoyed sitting and relaxing in the inner courtyard, in a very peaceful atmosphere. Entrance is 25.000 SUM.

It's just an amazing place. You will learn much about the history of Uzbek applied art by getting an incredible buzz from the works themselves. There are no outrageous attractions here, just mesmerizing architecture and a cool store with national paraphernalia inside.

They really need to change the name of this place. I was put off a little bit with the industrial sound, but it's really a remarkable museum. On the smaller side, but it had plenty of examples of uzbeki arts and crafts that were lovely as they were fascinating.

It was about time for the midday prayer and I almost didn’t get to see it because they were about to start praying, but my guide was able to ask permission for me to take a peep for five minutes. I walked around the inner complex and appreciated the sights. There are rules that you have to observe when entering the mosque, so please be aware of them.

Teleshayakh Mosque , or Tilly seikh mosque is a sixteenth century mosque of samarkand at the hastamal square. here don't miss to see the 7th century holy quran written in kufic. this quran was taken by the Russians once then returned later to Uzbekistan.

Unfortunately when I visited the place a week ago it was under renovation. I Did not have the chance to go inside.

Beautiful mosque that's definitely worth a visit. I wouldn't recommend going inside the museum though. It cost 15,000 som for admission and there wasn't much inside except for some replicas of historical Qurans.

Great view but couldnt find the entrance. Not sure whether it actually is open to public. But luckily was able to use the bathroom here with permission.

Just wow! We got a ticket for a ballet show a month in advance, and on the day of the event we found it got canceled... The administrator got involved and Medina and her amazing team got us tickets to the next ballet show, which was the National Ballet of Uzbekistan performing Lazgi. Mom and I were accommodated the best seats on the main floor. And it turned out this was a milestone in my life. I have never seen such representation of cultural values. Everything was like watching the flow of water. The harmony between these dancers, the physical proximity made me shed a few drops for real, between the performers the words were not needed to communicate emotions. I now have a unique appreciation of ballet and performing arts. Do not skip Alisher Navoiy if you're in Taskent, even in Uzbekistan. It's worth every second :) Greeting from Istanbul! 🇹🇷 🇺🇿

Very good performance! Of course the price is symbolic. I've enjoyed the show. The decor is beautiful but some of the spectators were answering phone calls during the performance. All in all I recommend the Alisher Navoi Theater.

It is an impressive theater building located in a large plaza. It is a place where you can enjoy opera, ballet and classical music.

Very nice opera house. Tickets bought through hotel, so no idea how that worx. But good crowd management at entry, roomy seats and beautiful interior. Opera was also well played, but that is a matter of personal taste thus not part of this evaluation

Great place. I've watched the nutcracker in January 2023 and it was very nice! Great way to finish my stay in Uzbekistan.

Truly beautiful opera house! Make sure to appreciate all the stucco detailing, especially in the balcony and first floor lobbies. Wonderful frescoes as well.

We bought the tickets at the theater two days in advance and we were able to choose good places, we really enjoyed the ballet! Recommended activity for those who want to enjoy an unforgettable show! Don't hesitate and go!

Every weekend and even on a weekday this place will keep you entertained. Classics from all over the world from Ballet to Opera, from local Uzbek artists and performers from Europe, Africa and Oceania . Beautiful place with very comfortable seats which were renovated just recently. Also tour guides of the theater itself are available with different rooms dedicated to Samarkand, Khiva and others. Must see places for any visitors that want to discover Tashkent.

Walking pass this theater and I wish I have the time to watch ballet or show here nevertheless it was a lovely place to chill and relax at the fountain

Very beautiful opera house. Fronting a park / square that's popular with locals and tourists alike. This is a working opera house so in order to get inside, you would literally have to attend a performance. Love just hanging out in the park and enjoy the whole atmosphere. Nice place to relax and chill.

Amazing place. More expensive for foreigners but really worth every single penny. It's a lot bigger than the entrance makes it out to be. Not a lot of information in english, but just the opportunity to see up close these beasts of soviet engineering and climb all over the trains and the drivers cabs makes it an incredible experience. Both steam and diesel locomotives as well as a small selection of carriages. A fantastic place to visit if you're in tashkent, only minutes from tashkent central train station and about 10 minute walk from the russian orthodox church.

Actually pretty awesome. They remodeled, repainted, and all in all a treat for old train lovers, children, and for 20,000 sum (less than 2$) it's definitely worth it. You can also snack tree berries along the way. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because you can only enter 1 train and even the inside of that one is pretty bad which is a shame... Entering trains would have doubled the time in the museum and there's no gift shop which I think would be nice. That's about it.

Great place to visit with kids. Some of the trains are in pretty good condition. They even operate a small railway inside the museum. Please be advised of the ongoing construction work in the outskirts of the museum, be extra careful there as in parts it is more a construction site rather than a museum.

Good selection of (restored/painted) soviet era trains to look at. No information given about them but you can climb on and into the cab of ~20 of them. 30k entry, 60k train ride. The ride is short but the driver let us sit in the cab and gave the kids a turn on the controls and horn.

A wonderful museum for rail enthusiasts. It has lots of historical decomissioned engines and you can even climb into some, including a double decker dining car (?) with its interiors now stripped bare.

A stellar collection of soviet era trains (1940s-60s). Nothing beats a soviet steam train - and you can climb into the cabs of these 2 storey mechanical behemoths and pretend to drive them! Currently undergoing refurbishment but still worth a visit. When finished this place will be a must-see!

Interesting place worth to visit in Tashkent. There are a lot of locomotives of different types and years of manufacturing. Old puffers are really impressive. Almost all locomotives are accessible to enter inside that makes an excursion more interactive and interesting. You can also request for a guide and get a tour with historical knowledge of the machines.

It is not a real museum I would say. Very dirty, all the dust, all the spider webs. You can many workers still work inside, in that circumstance, is it appropriate to charge for 30000 sum per adult? If you charge for tickets, then you suppose to make it a nice place for visitors to go. Not all these mess. All the wires, mechanic tools scattered around. I would never recommend anybody to go there! 10minutes walk, then done. Not worth it. Even it is free, I will never go again.

Great museum of soviet era trains. Some are really huge. Your children will enjoy this 40 minutes exploration. There is a reconstruction of the area, but will be a better place soon.

A superb selection of Soviet locomotives and rolling stock. Some genuine curiosities on static display. Sadly, no souvenirs available when I was there. Still highly recommended, if you’re interested in 20th Century railway history.

The beauty of the Architecture is also in the way the place has been maintained. A 16th century structure looks so vibrant and new that it could have been built in the very near past. This is obviously well looked after that makes it look so fresh. Its a part of the heritage structure for the students of Islamic Architecture

Ko'kaldosh Madrasasi is a two-storey madrasah located in the historical center of Tashkent near the Chorsu Square. The building is one of the nicest structures in the city and exhibits eye-catching tile works. Normally you are only allowed inside the compound and not inside the rooms. Must visit place for all the tourists visiting Tashkent.

Sneaking into past classrooms and labs

Can't believe it's a school! We were there on Sunday, some students were in. It's a beautiful place, took a peek at some of the classrooms. Lovely!

Madresa translated as a school where young men study Islam and what it teaches in order to become teachers themselves. There are active classes everyday . For visitors audio guides are available and it is also possible to take photos of the lovely garden inside and climb the second floor for better view of the entire place. Kokaldosh madresa is located next to chorsu market .

Very beautiful Masjid. Located in the heart of the city. But on Friday need to go to soon in order find place. There are good options nearby for lunch as well like KFC and some other fast food chains.

One of the most elequent and beautiful mosque, the Minor Mosque is a new mosque in Tashkent, the capital city of Uzbekistan. It is located on the bank of Anhor canal, whose embankment has undergone major improvements in recent months in terms of its appearance. The blue dome reflects a wonderful sight to behold and truely captivates the beauty.

Fell in love with this mosque. Great architecture work, awesome design. The colour and the embroideries are fantastic. The inside and the outside of the mosque are both magnificent. The room for wudhu is also very clean and tidy. May such places increase in numbers in our country.

I think this is the most beautiful mosque of national construction in Uzbekistan.The white color on the outside of the mosque looks very amazing.The climate in the room is very good. It is always cool in summer and warm in winter.

Generally when you visit uzbekistan you will find all blue architecture but this one is bit different ,it’s white.Visitors can enjoy the elaborate architecture and colorful tilework and learn more about the history of Tashkent through its many inscriptions. The Minor Mosque is definitely worth a visit when in Tashkent!

The Minor Mosque, despite its name, is anything but Minor (it is named after a region called Minor). As Uzbekistan’s biggest mosque, it is the centre of worship and prayer. We arrived by train at 7am in the morning, and it was perfect timing for an early visit, and indeed we found peace and quiet there. Remember to dress and act respectfully.

Modern mosque. I am a traveler. If you want to understand the people life in Tashkent, you should visit here. Not only old town. I have changed my understanding of Tashkent after I visited here.

It's a new Mosque in the heart of Tashkent city which is about 10 year old only. It's built with white marble and looks majestic. Though the architecture is similar to the old Mosques in Uzbekistan, the material used is entirely different. Must visit place if one is in Taskent.

Women are not allowed to pray in the main room of the mosque. There is a small building left side of the mosque as a women's prayer room

One of the most visited touristy places in Tashkent. Nearest metro station is Bodomzor and not Minor. It is about 10-15 minutes walking from Bodomzor and metro ticket would cost 2,000 som per person. There is a separate worship room for women. Also, women should wear appropriate clothes while visiting the mosque.

The entrance fee is 15.000 som for locals and 50.000 som for foreigners, with extra charge for photos, which is a pity. I've spend a little more than an hour to cover everything, and I could easily say that this is the best museum I've been to in Uzbekistan, but mostly because the others were really bad! The exhibition is somewhat basic, a lot of information is presented just in Uzbek, and in general it feels like someone was really trying, but didn't have the materials and the talent to make it nice. I would lower the ticket price twice and allow pictures for free to make it worth visiting.

It's not that big and just needs less than an hour. It mainly covers the era after Soviet Union collapsed. It's worth visiting if you have enough time in tashkant.

A good history museum. Quite a few interesting exhibits. It’s pretty small. The interesting part is the second floor. The third floor is history after independence. Very little explanation in English. A bit more in Russian. The toilets are AWFUL. It’s a disgrace. Everything is in dire need of renovation.

Oof. A bit extra for foreigners is fine but over 3x the price? That's just rude. The most interesting part is the Soviet era building anyway, just have a look in the entrance hall and leave is my advice.

This museum is in a large building, with the exhibits on the ground and first floors. It covers the history of the region from the stone age to the present day. There were some beautiful creations from the Persians and Bactrian Greeks as well as Bhuddist sculptures that were so prevalent in the area before the rise of Islam. There were sections on the massive contributions to science, medicine, architecture and culture that made this area critically important to world history. There was also a very large section showing how the country had improved since independence from the Soviet Union in 1991. This part was created by the Islam Karimov school of propaganda and was rather one sided!

One floor is dedicated to pre-history through until the end of communism. It is OK but a little dry. Not enough interesting exhibits and too much reading text. The other floor is dedicated to the current period since Uzbek independence. The propaganda here is too emphasised and detracts from the historical information.

Loved the place and collection. Worth the time and money. Must recommend.

The museum is expensive for foreigners (25000 sum) and not really worth it... It seems big from the outside, but the exposition is poor and the upper floor (dedicated to post-independence Uzbekistan) is more of a propaganda aimed at locals than an informative museum. Would not recommend a visit.

Very interesting museum that takes the visitors from the very beginnings to nowadays. A people proud of its history that shares their values and beliefs. If you visit in the summer be aware that the AC is not really functioning

I enjoyed visiting this museum. 50,000 for entrance (for foreigners) and yes I got around it in an hour. But it was a great introduction to Uzbekistan history and I learned a few new things. A few items were away on loan.

The museum covers from prehistoric to Soviet periods. A half of the exhibition focuses on the medieval period in which you can get a more elaborate perspective at the museum of Temurids. My experience could have been better if there were more translations. I was on google translate (Uzbek <> Eng) most of time. It is a nice place to visit when you have extra time to spare

There are very few English language sources on Uzbekistan’s history, and this museum will be your go-to in order to learn about Uzbekistan. Its whole of Level 2 is dedicated to the (official) version of national history, tracing back to as early as prehistoric times and early settlement up till Independence. The artefacts on display speak amply to both the government’s effort to educate visitors and the very fact that, though little known to the outside world, Uzbekistan is rich in heritage and should be so proud of its national history. The country has really come a long way.

Paid 50K and photo 60K total 11K but the Buddha sculpture is nor there displayed in Germany. 3rd floor is under reconstruction. They did not tell me anything and i just paid 110K to see stones and paintings. Check before you come to the museum. My main purpose to visit was to see the oldest Buddha sculpture. Very very disappointed

Wonderful place to get glimpses of Uzbekistan's history from the stone age to the 21st century.

Half of it is dedicated to modern Uzbekistan with telephones and wifi modems on display, so it's not amazing.
